RESUMO A eficiência do nitrogênio na aveia associada às condições climáticas são fundamentais no desenvolvimento de manejos sustentáveis com produtividade e qualidade. Objetivou-se neste estudo definir a eficiência agronômica do nitrogênio pela relação dose fornecida e produto obtido, estimar a máxima eficiência técnica do nutriente na produtividade de grãos, e pela dose ideal, simular a expressão da produtividade de palha e de indústria, proteína e fibra total em diferentes condições do ano agrícola no sistema soja/aveia. O estudo foi conduzido de 2011 a 2016, em Augusto Pestana, RS, em delineamento de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 referente a doses de nitrogênio (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) e cultivares de aveia (Barbarasul e Brisasul) no sistema soja/aveia. O nitrogênio incrementa a produtividade de grãos, de palha, de indústria e o teor de proteína dos grãos, com eficiência agronômica de 7,8, 19,7 e 3,3 kg ha-1 e 0,10 g kg-1, respectivamente, com redução na fibra total de grãos de 0,05 g kg-1 por kg de N fornecido. A dose de máxima eficiência técnica na expressão da produtividade de grãos depende das condições de cultivo. Em geral, a máxima eficiência de produtividade de grãos é obtida com 86 kg ha-1 de N, com equações lineares que mostram acréscimos da produtividade da palha e de indústria e a proteína total, e redução do teor de fibras dos grãos de aveia pelo uso do nitrogênio.

ABSTRACT The efficiency of nitrogen use by oats in association with climatic conditions is fundamental to the development of more sustainable managements with yield and quality. The objectives of this study were to define the agronomic efficiency of nitrogen by the ratio of the dose provided and product obtained, estimate the maximum technical efficiency of the nutrient on grain yield; and for the optimum dose, simulate the expression of the straw and industry yields, protein and total fiber in different conditions of the agricultural year in a soybean/oat system. The study was conducted from 2011 to 2016, in Augusto Pestana, RS, Brazil, in a randomized block design with four repetitions in a 4 x 2 factorial referring to nitrogen doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) and oat cultivars (Barbarasul and Brisasul) in a soybean/oat system. Nitrogen increased grain, straw, and industry yields and total grain protein, with agronomic efficiency of 7.8, 19.7 and 3.3 kg ha-1 and 0.10 g kg-1, respectively, with reduction of the total fiber in 0.05 g kg-1 per kg of N supplied. The dose of maximum technical efficiency in the expression of grain yield is dependent on the weather conditions during cultivation. In general, the maximum efficiency of grain productivity was obtained with 86 kg ha-1 of N, with linear equations showing increased productivity of straw and industry yield, total protein, and reduction of the fiber content of oat grains by nitrogen use.

RESUMO Existem entre os componentes da inflorescência da aveia diferentes magnitudes de contribuição de expressão da produtividade de grãos e industrial pelo estímulo do nitrogênio; deste modo, propôs-se dimensionar e interpretar a contribuição e a dinâmica de relações dos componentes da inflorescência da aveia com a produtividade de grãos e industrial pelo estímulo do fertilizante nitrogenado, particionando os valores de correlação em efeitos diretos e indiretos por diagnóstico de trilha, fortalecido pela análise conjunta de distintos anos agrícolas. O estudo foi conduzido de 2011 a 2016, no município de Augusto Pestana, RS, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 para doses de nitrogênio (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) e cultivares de aveia (Barbarasul e Brisasul) em sistema soja/aveia e milho/aveia. No sistema soja/aveia, a massa e o número de espiguetas da panícula e a massa de grãos da panícula, detém maior contribuição em promover alterações pelo incremento do nitrogênio. No sistema milho/aveia, as variáveis com maior contribuição são, a massa e o número de espiguetas da panícula. O acréscimo da massa de grãos da panícula e do índice de colheita da panícula incrementam a produtividade de grãos, porém, juntamente com o número de grãos da panícula, reduzem a produtividade industrial, independente do sistema de cultivo.

ABSTRACT Among oat inflorescence components there are different magnitudes of contribution to expression of grain and industrial productivity by nitrogen stimulation. Thus, it was proposed to size and interpret the contribution and dynamics of the relationships of oat inflorescence components with grain and industrial yield by N-fertilizer stimulation, partitioning correlation values into direct and indirect effects by path diagnosis, strengthened by the joint analysis of different agricultural years. The study was carried out from 2011 to 2016, in the municipality of Augusto Pestana, RS, Brazil, in a randomized block design with four repetitions in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme for nitrogen doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1), using oat cultivars (Barbarasul and Brisasul) in soybean/oat and corn/oat systems. In the soybean/oat system, the mass and the number of panicle spikelets and the mass of panicle grains, contributed more to promoting changes by the increase of nitrogen. In the corn/oat system, the variables with the highest contribution are the mass and the number of panicle spikelets. The increase in panicle grain mass and in panicle harvest index increases grain yield, however, together with the number of panicle grains, they reduce industrial productivity, regardless of the cultivation system.

RESUMO O fornecimento único ou fracionado do nitrogênio pode maximizar a expressão dos indicadores de produtividade do trigo. Objetivou-se no estudo avaliar a maior eficiência de uso do nitrogênio sobre os indicadores de produtividade do trigo pelo fornecimento único e fracionado do nutriente em condição de ano favorável e desfavorável ao cultivo, em sistema de sucessão de alta e reduzida liberação de N-residual. O estudo foi conduzido em 2014 e 2015, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em fatorial 4 x 3, para doses de N-fertilizante (0, 30, 60, 120 kg ha-1) e formas de fornecimento [dose única (100%) no estádio fenológico V3 (terceira folha expandida); fracionada (70 e 30%) no estádio fenológico V3/V6 (terceira e sexta folha expandida) e; fracionada (70 e 30%) no estádio fenológico V3/R1 (terceira folha expandida e início do enchimento de grãos)], respectivamente, no sistema de sucessão soja/trigo e milho/trigo. A maior eficiência do nitrogênio à produtividade do trigo é obtida no fornecimento em dose única em ano favorável de cultivo e com o fracionamento no estádio V3/V6 em ano desfavorável, independente do sistema de sucessão de alta e reduzida liberação de N-residual.

ABSTRACT Single or split nitrogen (N) supply can maximize the expression of wheat yield indicators. The objective of the study was to evaluate the greater N use efficiency on wheat yield indicators by the single and split N supply under favorable and unfavorable year conditions to the crop in succession system of high and reduced residual N release. The study was conducted in 2014 and 2015, in a randomized complete block design with four replicates in a 4 x 3 factorial, for N-fertilizer doses (0, 30, 60, 120 kg ha-1) and supply forms [full dose (100%) in the phenological stage V3 (third expanded leaf); split dose (70 and 30%) in the phenological stages V3/V6 (third and sixth expanded leaves, respectively) and; split dose (70 and 30%) in the phenological stages V3/R1 (third expanded leaf and early grain filling)], respectively, in soybean/wheat and maize/wheat cultivation systems. The highest N use efficiency for wheat yield was obtained with the single dose supply in favorable year of temperature and rainfall and with the split dose in the V3/V6 stages in unfavorable year, regardless of the succession system of high and reduced residual N release.

RESUMO A eficiência de uso do nitrogênio na produtividade do trigo, pode ser favorecida pelo biopolímero hidrogel. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o uso do biopolímero hidrogel aplicado junto à semente na otimização do N-fertilizante sobre a produtividade de biomassa e grãos de trigo, em distintas condições de ano agrícola e sistemas de sucessão de alta e reduzida liberação de N-residual. No estudo dois experimentos foram conduzidos nos anos de 2014 e 2015, um para quantificar a taxa de produtividade de biomassa e biomassa total e o outro para determinação da produtividade de grãos. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições, em fatorial 4 x 4 para doses de hidrogel (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) adicionado junto à semente e doses de N-fertilizante (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) aplicadas em cobertura, respectivamente, no sistema de sucessão soja/trigo e milho/trigo. É possível melhorar a eficiência de N-fertilizante pelo trigo com o uso do biopolímero hidrogel à produção de biomassa e grãos. A maior produtividade de trigo por quilograma de nitrogênio fornecido é obtida com 30 e 60 kg ha-1 de hidrogel, independente do ano e do sistema de sucessão.

ABSTRACT Nitrogen use efficiency in wheat biomass and grain yields can be favored by the biopolymer hydrogel. The objective of the study was to analyze the use of the biopolymer hydrogel applied to the seed in the optimization of fertilizer-N on wheat biomass and grain yields, under different conditions of agricultural year and succession systems of high and reduced release of residual-N. In the study, two experiments were conducted, with different farming systems, soybean/wheat and maize/wheat, one to quantify the biomass yield rate and the other to determine grain yield. The experiments were conducted in the years 2014 and 2015, in a randomized block design with four replicates in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme, corresponding to hydrogel doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) added in the groove along with the seed and N fertilizer rates (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1), applied as top-dressing. It is possible to improve the fertilizer-N efficiency by wheat using the biopolymer hydrogel for the production of biomass and grains. The highest wheat yield per kilogram of N supplied is obtained with 30 and 60 kg ha-1 of hydrogel, regardless of the year and succession system.

RESUMO Os hidroretentores de água no solo podem favorecer a eficiência de uso do nitrogênio na produtividade da aveia. O objetivo do estudo foi determinar se as condições de uso do biopolímero hidrogel aumentam a eficiência de aproveitamento do N-fertilizante na produtividade da aveia em sistemas de sucessão de alta e reduzida liberação de residual-N. Em cada sistema de sucessão (soja/aveia; milho/aveia), dois experimentos foram conduzidos em 2014 e 2015, um para quantificar a taxa de produtividade de biomassa e outro na estimativa da produtividade de grãos e o acamamento. O delineamento foi de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em fatorial 4 x 4, para doses de hidrogel (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1), adicionado no sulco junto à semente e doses de N-fertilizante (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1), aplicado no estádio de 4a folha expandida. O uso de hidrogel aumentou a eficiência de aproveitamento do nitrogênio na produtividade da aveia, principalmente nas condições de 30 e 60 kg ha-1 do biopolímero; porém, este efeito é dependente do sistema de sucessão e condições meteorológicas.

ABSTRACT The retainers of water in the soil can favor nitrogen (N) use efficiency in oat yield. The aim of the study was to determine if the conditions of use of the biopolymer hydrogel increase the fertilizer-N use efficiency in oat yield in succession systems of high and low residual-N release. In each succession system (soybean/oat, corn/oat), two experiments were conducted in 2014 and 2015, one to quantify biomass yield and the other to estimate grain yield and lodging. The design was randomized blocks with four replicates in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme for hydrogel doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1), added in the furrow with the seed, and N fertilizer doses (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) applied in the fourth-expanded-leaf stage. The use of hydrogel increases N use efficiency in oat yield, especially under the conditions of 30 to 60 kg ha-1 of biopolymer; however, this effect is dependent on the succession system and on weather conditions.

RESUMO O regulador de crescimento modifica a expressão do acamamento e componentes da panícula da aveia com reflexos na produtividade. O objetivo do estudo é a definição da dose ideal do regulador de crescimento em aveia para no máximo 5% de acamamento. Além disso, o estudo visa também identificar variáveis potenciais da panícula para compor o modelo de regressão linear múltipla e a simulação da produtividade de grãos nas condições de uso do regulador em reduzida, alta e muito alta fertilização com nitrogênio. O estudo foi conduzido em 2011, 2012 e 2013 em delineamento de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições em fatorial 4 x 3, para doses de regulador (0, 200, 400 e 600 mL ha-1) e de N-fertilizante (30, 90 e 150 kg ha-1), respectivamente. As doses de 395, 450 e 560 mL ha-1 de regulador de crescimento são eficientes, com acamamento de plantas de aveia de no máximo 5%, em reduzida, alta e muito alta fertilização com nitrogênio, respectivamente. A massa de grãos da panícula e o índice de colheita da panícula são variáveis potenciais para compor o modelo de regressão linear múltipla. As equações de regressão linear múltipla são eficientes na simulação da produtividade de grãos de aveia nas condições de uso de regulador de crescimento independente da dose de N-fertilizante.

ABSTRACT The growth regulator modifies the expression of lodging and panicle components in oat plants, with reflexes in yield. The objective of this study was to define the optimal dose of growth regulator in oat for a maximum lodging of 5%. In addition, this study aimed to identify potential variables of the panicle to compose the multiple linear regression model and the simulation of grain yield in conditions of use of the regulator under low, high and very high fertilization with nitrogen. The study was conducted in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in a randomized block design with four replicates in a 4 x 3 factorial scheme, for growth regulator doses (0, 200, 400 and 600 mL ha-1) and N-fertilizer doses (30, 90 and 150 kg ha-1), respectively. The growth regulator doses of 395, 450 and 560 mL ha-1 are efficient, with maximum oat lodging of 5%, under low, high and very high nitrogen fertilization, respectively. The grain weight per panicle and panicle harvest index are potential variables to compose the multiple linear regression model. Multiple linear regression equations are efficient in the simulation of oat grain yield under the conditions of use of growth regulator, regardless of the N-fertilizer dose.

RESUMO O uso do regulador de crescimento em aveia pode reduzir o acamamento de plantas com reflexos na produtividade de biomassa e grãos. Objetivou-se, no estudo, determinar a viabilidade e a eficiência do uso do regulador de crescimento Trinexapac-Ethyl em aveia branca em diferentes condições de uso de N-fertilizante e de ano favorável e desfavorável ao cultivo. Neste estudo, dois experimentos foram conduzidos nos anos de 2011, 2012 e 2013, um para quantificar a taxa de produção de biomassa e outro para determinação da produtividade de grãos e o acamamento. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 3 para doses de regulador de crescimento (0, 200, 400 e 600 mL ha-1) e doses de nitrogênio (30, 90 e 150 kg ha-1) respectivamente. Há redução linear da taxa de biomassa com o incremento da dose de regulador de crescimento em aveia independente da condição de ano e uso de N-fertilizante. No uso reduzido alto e muito alto de N-fertilizante, a dose de 495 mL ha-1 de regulador reduz com eficiência o acamamento sem prejuízos na produtividade de grãos de aveia, seja ano favorável, intermediário ou desfavorável ao cultivo.

ABSTRACT The use of growth regulator in oats can reduce plant lodging with reflections in biomass and grain yield. The objective of the study was to determine the feasibility and efficiency of using Trinexapac-Ethyl regulator in the growth of white oat under different conditions of N-fertilizer and years favorable and unfavorable for cultivation. In this study, two experiments were conducted in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, one for quantifying biomass production rate and the other for the determination of grain yield and lodging. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replicates, in a 4 x 3 factorial scheme, for growth regulator doses (0, 200, 400 and 600 mL ha-1) and nitrogen doses (30, 90 and 150 kg ha-1), respectively. There is a linear reduction of biomass rate with the increase in the growth regulator dose in oat, regardless of the condition of year and use of N-fertilizer. The growth regulator dose of 495 mL ha-1 efficiently reduces lodging with reduced, high and very high use of N-fertilizer, without reducing the yield of oat grains, in favorable, intermediate or unfavorable year for cultivation.

RESUMO A simulação do ciclo de desenvolvimento da aveia pode ser utilizada no planejamento de práticas agrícolas. Objetivou-se simular e validar a duração do ciclo de desenvolvimento da aveia por intermédio de fotoperíodo, temperatura e coeficientes de desenvolvimento do trigo para uso no modelo WE-Streck, considerando diferentes doses de N-fertilizante e sistemas de sucessão de alta e reduzida relação C/N. O estudo foi conduzido em 2015, em delineamento de blocos casualizados com 4 repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 para doses de nitrogênio (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) e cultivares de aveia (Barbarasul e Brisasul), respectivamente, no sistema soja/aveia e milho/aveia. No modelo WE-Streck foi simulada a duração das fases emergência à antese e antese à maturação da aveia. As temperaturas mínima, ótima e máxima que simulam com eficiência o ciclo de desenvolvimento da aveia da emergência à antese, foram 4, 22 e 30 °C, respectivamente e da antese à maturação 15, 25 e 35 °C, respectivamente. A simulação do desenvolvimento da aveia de ciclo médio pelo modelo WE-Streck foi eficiente usando coeficientes desenvolvidos para o trigo, com ciclo vegetativo e reprodutivo estimado em 89 e 43 dias, respectivamente.

ABSTRACT The simulation of oat development cycle can be used in the planning of agricultural practices. The aim of the study was to simulate and validate the duration of oat development cycle by photoperiod, temperature and coefficients of development of wheat for use in the WE-Streck model, considering different doses of N-fertilizer and systems of succession of high and low C/N ratio. The study was conducted in 2015 in a randomized block design with four replicates in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, corresponding to N rates (0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) and oat cultivars (Barbarasul and Brisasul), respectively, in the soybean/oat and maize/oat systems. The duration of the stages from emergence to anthesis and from anthesis to maturation of oats was simulated in the WE-Streck model. The minimum, optimum and maximum temperatures that effectively simulate the oat development cycle were 4, 22 and 30 °C from emergence to anthesis and 15, 25 and 35 °C from anthesis to maturation, respectively. The intermediate-cycle oat development was efficiently simulated by the WE-Streck model using coefficients developed for wheat, with vegetative and reproductive cycles estimated at 89 and 43 days, respectively.

RESUMO O nitrogênio é o nutriente mais absorvido pela aveia; em condições climáticas desfavoráveis diminui sua eficiência, gerando redução e instabilidade na produtividade. Objetivou-se, no estudo, a melhoria da eficiência de uso do nitrogênio na produtividade de grãos de aveia pelo valor econômico do produto e do insumo e por modelos que dimensionam a estabilidade considerando sistemas de sucessão de alta e reduzida liberação de N-residual em anos favoráveis e desfavoráveis ao cultivo. O estudo foi conduzido nos anos de 2013, 2014 e 2015 em dois sistemas de sucessão (soja/aveia; milho/aveia) em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com oito repetições, para as doses de N-fertilizante de 0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1. A dose de N-fertilizante pela máxima eficiência econômica em aveia deve ser considerada observando-se as tendências meteorológicas do ano de cultivo. A otimização de uso do nitrogênio por modelos que determinam a estabilidade é uma proposta inovadora para aumentar a eficiência de adubação sobre a produtividade. A dose de 60 kg ha-1 de N-fertilizante promove a maior eficiência com previsibilidade e produtividade, independente de ano agrícola e do sistema de sucessão.

ABSTRACT Nitrogen (N) is the nutrient most absorbed by the oat crop. Unfavorable climate conditions decrease its efficiency, generating instability and reduction in yield. The objective of this study was to improve N use efficiency in oat grain yield by the economic value of the product and of the input and by models that scale the stability, considering systems of succession of high and reduced residual-N release in favorable and unfavorable years for cultivation. The study was conducted in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015 in two systems of succession (soybean/oat, maize/oat) in randomized blocks with eight replicates, using the N-fertilizer doses of 0, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1. The N-fertilizer dose for maximum economic efficiency in oats should be considered based on the meteorological trends of the cultivation year. N use optimization by models that determine the stability is an innovative proposal to increase fertilization efficiency on the yield. The N-fertilizer dose of 60 kg ha-1 promotes greater efficiency with predictability and yield, regardless of the agricultural year and the system of succession.

A produção de biomassa e grãos de aveia depende diretamente das formas de fornecimento de nitrogênio (N). Propôs-se, com este estudo, determinar a eficiência de aproveitamento de N-fertilizante na elaboração de biomassa e grãos de aveia em distintos sistemas de cultivo e estimar a máxima eficiência técnica e econômica de produtividade de grãos na identificação de cultivares mais eficientes no uso do N. O estudo foi conduzido nos anos de 2011 e 2012, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 para Doses de Nitrogênio (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) e Cultivares de Aveia (Barbarasul e Brisasul) no sistema soja/aveia e milho/aveia. Há tendência de crescimento na taxa de biomassa em aveia com o incremento das doses de N-fertilizante em ambos os sistemas de cultivo, condição nem sempre acompanhada da maior produtividade de grãos. A cultivar Brisasul mostra maior eficiência no aproveitamento do N à elaboração de biomassa e grãos, independente do sistema de cultivo. A definição da dose ajustada em aveia permite resultados mais vantajosos pela análise da máxima eficiência econômica de produtividade de grãos.

The production of biomass and oat grains is directly dependent on the forms of nitrogen (N) supply. The objective of this study was to determine the efficiency of utilization of N-fertilizer on biomass and grain oat in high and reduced N-residual release in different cropping systems and estimate the maximum technical and economic efficiency of grain yield in identifying cultivars more efficient in the use of N. The study was conducted in the years 2011 and 2012 in a randomized block design with four replications in a 4 x 2 factorial with four nitrogen rates (0 , 30 , 60 and 120 kg ha-1) and two oat cultivars (Barbarasul and Brisasul) in soybean/oat and corn/oat system. There is a tendency of increase in growth rate in oat biomass with increasing doses of N-fertilizer in both cropping systems, however, condition is not always accompanied by the increased productivity of grain. The cultivar Brisasul shows greater efficiency in the utilization of N in the elaboration of biomass and grain, independent of the production system. The definition of adjusted dose in oats allows more advantageous results by analysis of maximum economic efficiency for grain yield.
