Objetivo : descrever e analisar o uso das estratégias de reparo empregadas por crianças com aquisição fonológica normal e desviante, no constituinte silábico onset complexo, a fim de verificar as semelhanças e as diferenças existentes entre os grupos em estudo. Método : foram utilizados dados de fala de 60 crianças com aquisição normal, 30 meninos e 30 meninas, e 84 crianças com aquisição desviante, 53 meninos e 31 meninas. A idade do grupo normal variou de 1:0 a 4:0, enquanto que a do grupo desviante variou de 3:0 a 11:0 anos. Foram consideradas as variáveis: idade, sexo, contexto precedente e seguinte, obstruinte do onset complexo, tipo de líquida do onset complexo, tonicidade, número de sílabas e posição na palavra. Posteriormente, os dados foram submetidos à análise estatística por meio do programa VARBRUL. Resultados : as crianças com desenvolvimento fonológico normal e desviante utilizaram os seguintes recursos, respectivamente: simplificação para C 1 V (93%; 77%), alteração do traço da obstruinte (5%; 17%), alteração do traço da líquida (1%; 5%), epêntese (1%; 0%) e metátese (0%; 1%). As variáveis tonicidade, contexto precedente e posição na palavra não foram relevantes no estudo. Conclusão : o recurso mais frequente foi o de simplificação para C 1 V em ambos os grupos, contudo, outras estratégias foram aplicadas, principalmente, pelo grupo desviante. Quanto à influência das variáveis, concluiu-se que as variáveis idade, sexo, tipo de obstruinte e tipo de líquida do onset complexo, contexto seguinte e número de sílabas influenciaram de alguma forma os recursos estudados.

Purpose : to describe and to analyze the repair strategies used by children with normal phonological acquisition and phonological disorder in the complex onset syllable constituent, in order to examine the similarities as well as the differences in the studied groups. Method : the analysis included speech data from 60 children with normal acquisition, 30 male and 30 female, in addition to 84 children with deviation, 53 male and 31 female. The age in the normal group was between 1:0 and 4:0, whereas in the deviation group it was between 3:0 and 11:0. The variables age, gender, preceding and following context, obstruent of complex onset , kind of liquid of complex onset , tonicity, number of syllables and position in the word were considered. Then, the data were submitted to statistical analysis in the VARBRUL program. Results : the children with normal acquisition and deviation used the following resources, respectively: simplification strategies for C 1 V (93%; 77%), alteration of the obstruent feature (5%; 17%), alteration of the liquid feature (1%; 5%), epenthesis (1%; 0%) and metathesis (0%; 1%). The variables tonicity, preceding context and position in the word were not relevant to the study. Conclusion : the most frequent resource was the simplification for C 1 V in both groups, but other strategies were applied, mainly in the deviation group. Considering the influence of the variables, it was possible to conclude that the variables: age, gender, kind of obstruent, kind of liquid of complex onset , following context and number of syllables influenced the studied resources.

OBJETIVO: descrever a produção das codas finais simples e complexa com /S/ em crianças com desvio fonológico e verificar a influência de variáveis linguísticas e extralinguísticas na aquisição das mesmas. MÉTODO: foram utilizados dados de fala de 66 crianças com desvio fonológico, 33 meninos e 33 meninas, entre 3:0 e 9:0. As amostras de fala foram coletadas transversalmente, com base no instrumento Avaliação Fonológica da Criança. Foram analisadas apenas as palavras alvo contendo coda simples lexical (ex.: talvez), coda simples morfológica (ex.: casas), coda complexa composta por nasal e fricativa (ex.: parabéns) e coda complexa com glide e fricativa (ex.: dois), totalizando um corpus de 481 palavras. Para ambos os tipos de coda foram consideradas como variáveis dependentes a produção correta do /S/, a omissão da coda ou sua substituição. Como variáveis intervenientes consideraram-se os fatores extralinguísticos idade, sexo e grau do desvio e as variáveis linguísticas classe gramatical, tonicidade, número de sílabas, contexto precedente e tipo de coda. Os dados de fala foram analisados estatisticamente através do VARBRUL, com grau de significância de 5%. RESULTADO: o programa estatístico selecionou como significante para a produção correta das codas simples e complexas as variáveis classe gramatical, tipo de coda e a gravidade do desvio em ordem decrescente de relevância estatística, com valor de p < 0,001. CONCLUSÃO: verificou-se que as variáveis gravidade do desvio, tipo de coda e classe gramatical influenciam de forma significante a produção das codas finais simples e complexas com o arquifonema /S/, em crianças com desvio fonológico.

PURPOSE: to describe the production of final simple and complex coda with /S/ in children with phonological disorder, verifying the influence of linguistic and extra-linguistic variables in codas acquisition. METHOD: we utilized speech data from 66 children with phonological disorder, 33 boys and 33 girls, aged between 3:0 and 9:0. Speech samples were collected through a crossed-nature study, using the instrument referred to as Child Phonological Evaluation¹, with 481 words being part of the database from a project which was approved by the Ethics Research Committee (CEP) of the institution. Next, the words were statistically analyzed through the statistical program VARBRUL, considering a significance level of 5%. We took into account as dependent variables the correct production of /S/, the omission of the coda or its substitution. As intervening variable, we considered the extra-linguistic factors age, sex, degree of the phonological disorder; and the linguistic variables grammatical class, tonicity, precedent context, and type of coda. RESULTS: the statistical program selected as statistically significant for the correct production of simple and complex coda, the degree of the phonological disorder, the type of coda, and the grammatical class, with the value of p < 0.01. CONCLUSION: we verified, through this study, that the degree of phonological disorder, type of coda, and grammatical class influenced in a significant way on the production of final simple and complex coda with the archiphoneme /S/, in children with phonological disorder.

OBJETIVO: Investigar e comparar o uso de estratégias de reparo na aquisição do /R/ em onset simples empregadas por crianças com aquisição fonológica típica. MÉTODOS: Foram utilizados dados de fala contendo o 'r-forte' de 120 crianças com aquisição fonológica típica, sendo 60 do gênero feminino e 60 do gênero masculino, residentes de Santa Maria (RS) e de Crissiumal (RS), com idades entre 1 ano e 6 meses e 4 anos. Para a análise das estratégias de reparo empregadas foram consideradas as variáveis dependentes omissão, substituição por j e w, e substituição por [l] e/ou [r], e as variáveis independentes gênero, idade, contexto precedente e seguinte, classe gramatical, tonicidade, número de sílabas e posição na palavra. Os dados foram codificados e submetidos à análise estatística por meio do programa VARBRUL. RESULTADOS: O programa estatístico selecionou como significativos na rodada da omissão em Santa Maria tonicidade e gênero e em Crissiumal tonicidade e faixa etária. Na rodada da substituição por j e w em Santa Maria o programa selecionou gênero e em Crissiumal tonicidade. Na rodada da substituição pelo [l] em Santa Maria nenhuma variável foi selecionada e em Crissiumal as variáveis posição na palavra, gênero e faixa etária foram selecionadas. CONCLUSÃO: Foi possível observar que as estratégias de reparo podem divergir conforme a variante utilizada. Deve-se, portanto, considerar a variação dialetal para que a terapia fonológica seja mais eficiente.

PURPOSE: To investigate and compare the use of repair strategies in the acquisition of /R/ in simple onset, produced by children with typical phonological acquisition. METHODS: Speech data containing the /R/ from 120 children with typical phonological acquisition (60 male and 60 female) from Santa Maria (RS) and Crissiumal (RS), Brazil, aged between 1 year and 6 months and 4 years were used. To analyze the repair strategies, the following dependent variables were considered: omission, semivocalization, and liquid substitution; as well as the following independent variables: gender, age, precedent and following context, grammatical class, tonicity, number of syllables, and position in the word. The VARBRUL program was used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: The statistical program selected as significant for omission in Santa Maria the variables tonicity and gender, and in Crissiumal, tonicity and age. For semivocalization in Santa Maria, the program selected the variable gender, and in Crissiumal, tonicity. For lateral liquid substitution in Santa Maria the statistical program did not select any variable. However, in Crissiumal, the variables position in the word, gender, and age were selected. CONCLUSION: It was possible to observe that the repair strategies can diverge according to the dialect being used. Hence, it is important to consider the dialectal variation to make the phonological therapy more effective.
