Abstract To further improve the strike accuracy and penetration power of explosively-formed projectile (EFP) after long-distance flight, a polygonal charge capable of forming EFP with tail fins was designed during the study. A model for calculating the EFP velocity was derived from the effective charge and detonation projection theories with the integration of calculus. The circumferential velocity distributions of EFP formed using polygonal charges were obtained using this model, and the mechanisms underlying the formation of tail fins were elucidated. The feasibility of using this polygonal charge to form tail fin EFP was verified by conducting multi-media soft recovery tests and numerical simulations. Furthermore, the feasibility of forming tail fin EFP using polygonal charges with different numbers of sides and the effects of the structural parameters of a hexagonal charge on the formation of tail fin EFP were investigated by simulation. Abstract Background stewart-treves syndrome (STS) is an angiosarcoma associated with chronic lymphedema. Objectives This article analyses the characteristics of twenty-two patients and proposes active intervention in lymphedema and the early diagnosis of STS. Methods Twenty-two patients with STS were diagnosed at the centre over an 11-year period. Clinical manifestations, a series of conventional analyses, and histopathology were used to study these cases retrospectively. Results The age range of 22 patients with STS was 15 to 78 years. The main clinical manifestations included multiple skin and subcutaneous nodules and scattered red or purplish-red rashes in the lymphoedematous limbs. These patients often showed clinical symptoms such as lymphedema, weakness, emaciation, pain, mass, lymphadenopathy and so on. The positive rates of ultrasonography, MRI and radionuclide imaging were 66.7% (6/9), 92.3% (12/13) and 18.2% (2/11), respectively. The main points regarding active intervention in lymphedema and early diagnosis of STS were summarized. Study limitations Since this was a retrospective study, the main points summarized by the author need to be further quantified in clinical work to guide the diagnosis of this kind of disease more conveniently. In addition, further clinical trials are needed to evaluate the role of lymphedema in the occurrence and development of malignant tumors. Conclusions STS can appear in lymphoedematous tissue many years after lymphedema onset. To avoid delays in the diagnosis and therapy of STS, physicians should actively look for signs or symptoms of malignant lymphedema during the follow-up period and promptly manage patients developing problems.

Abstract Nowadays, peony seed oil (PSO) and chia seed (CS) provide a vast potential in the industries of animal feed, food, nutraceutical, pharmaceuticals, and health. In this paper, study on PSO and CS were added into biscuits, and improvement in the nutraceutical properties of biscuits. The studies indicated that biscuits of acceptable overall quality could be prepared using the content of incorporation of PSO (15 g) and CS (12 g) formulations. The total dietary fiber content was positively correlated with different content of PSO and CS. The body weight of the mice in high dose group was lower than that of control group and other groups, indicating that the components PSO and CS in the biscuits could significantly control the body weight of the mice. From the fourth week, average daily food intake of mice in high dose group was significantly lower compared to control group. However, the grasping power of mice in high dose group increased significantly. With the increase in the content of PSO and CS of biscuits, the DPPH radical scavenging activity increased, too. Thus, the results indicated that whole wheat biscuits supplemented with PSO and CS could be considered as dietary fiber-enriched food, and have antioxidant properties.

Abstract The objective of this paper was to study the effect of potassium iodide solution on nonlinear chemical oscillation system of (NH4)4Ce(SO4)4-NaBrO3-malonic acid in the food safety detection. Taking milk powder and pure water blank samples as tested samples, click the menu to collect data. When oscillation curve went on smoothly to 8 min, potassium iodide solution of different concentration was injected, respectively, and the influence of potassium iodide solution of each concentration on intuitive information and characteristic parameters of the corresponding oscillation spectrum was investigated. The results showed that when the concentration of potassium iodide was higher than 1 × 10-3 mol/L, visual information and some characteristic parameters of nonlinear chemical oscillation spectra of milk powder and pure water blank samples were greatly disturbed, and there was a good linear relationship between oscillatory end time and the concentration of potassium iodide, and correlation coefficient was 0.9902. At the same time, this study provided a reference for the study of disturbance of other components on nonlinear chemical oscillation system in the food safety detection.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Viscum coloratum (Kom.) Nakai f. Lutescens Kitag polysaccharide on fertility, longevity and antioxidant capacity of Drosophila melanogaster. The Drosophila melanogaster were randomly divided into five groups. Four generations of Drosophila melanogaster were cultured continuously in basic medium with or without polysaccharides (400, 200, 100 and 50 mg/L). The changes in fertility, lifespan and male-to-female ratio from F1 to F4 generation. The survival time under acute oxidative damage caused by paraquat and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and changes in superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content were determined as well. High dose of V. coloratum polysaccharide could significantly improve the fertility and lifespans of Drosophila melanogaster from F1 to F4 generation, prolong the survival time under acute oxidative damage. Moreover, the MDA content was decreased sharply, while the activities of SOD and CAT were increased in high group. However, the male-to-female ratio was overall close to 1:1 for F1 to F4 generations among the four groups. V. coloratum polysaccharide improved the antioxidant capacity and vitality of Drosophila melanogaster and promoted their reproductive capacity in a dose-dependent manner.

Abstract The influencing factors of oscillation chemical reaction and application in food safety detection were studied. The results showed that oscillation chemical reaction was related to many factors. Taking the melamine in infant formula as tested samples, click the menu to collect data. Inductive time value and the content of melamine in infant formula had a linear relationship in the range of 0-40 μg/g. A detection limit of 0.08 μg/g was obtained. When the maximum dosage of magnesium sulfate, sodium nitrate, potassium iodide, calcium carbonate and urea reagent was 1×10-3 ug/mL, respectively, there was no effect on the signal of the spectrum. The proposed method in this study did not need pretreatment for analysis of sample, and was with some anti-interference, simple and effective. At the same time, this study provided a reference for the food safety detection by nonlinear chemical oscillation system.

Abstract Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is worldwide the sixth-largest food crop and highly drought resistant. The expression of the myeloblastosis (MYB) family protein MeMYB26 in cassava was previously reported to be significantly up-regulated under water deficit. To study the basic characterization, natural variations and potential functions of MeMYB26 for drought resistance in cassava, the protein was subjected to bioinformatics analysis, multiplex-PCR with next-generation sequencing and candidate association studies. The results indicated that MeMYB26 is a typical transcription factor, with two MYB DNA-binding and transcriptional activation domains. One stop-gained and five nonsynonymous variations in the genomic region of MeMYB26 were significantly associated with drought resistance traits. The results of the scale-free coexpression network showed that the MeMYB26 gene plays a critical role in plant stress resistance, growth and biomass development. It was concluded that MeMYB26 is a reliable candidate gene associated with drought tolerance and biomass storage in cassava.

Abstract Limited initiation energy or external stimulation may cause incomplete detonation in a warhead. At present, there is no quantitative method to characterize the energy release of a warhead charge for incomplete detonation such as explosion and deflagration. We propose a method based on average fragment quality to characterize the energy released by a warhead charge. The theoretical study shows that the average fragment quality after warhead initiation is inversely proportional to the initial fragment velocity. The relationship between the average fragment quality and explosive energy release is established and verified by experiment. This relation can be used to determine the charge energy released after warhead initiation. It provides a theoretical basis for optimizing efficiency of charge energy use in high-energy conventional damage technology and warhead design, and provides a quantitative method for evaluating insensitive ammunition.

Resumo Introdução: A rinite alérgica é uma doença inflamatória crônica que afeta um a cada seis indivíduos. A rinite alérgica perene é responsável por 40% dos casos de rinite alérgica. A ciclesonida é um dos corticosteroides intranasais mais novos para o tratamento dessa condição clínica. Objetivo: Avaliar a eficácia e segurança da ciclesonida no tratamento da rinite alérgica perene. Método: Uma busca foi feita nos bancos de dados Pubmed, Scientific Citation Index, Embase e Clinical Trial Registries por ensaios clínicos randomizados e Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials por estudos controlados randomizados que comparassem ciclesonida com placebo no tratamento da rinite alérgica perene. Resultados: Oito estudos foram incluídos. Em comparação com os grupos placebo, os grupos ciclesonida mostraram diminuição significante no escore do Reflective Total Nasal Symptom Score (DM = −0,56; IC 95%: −0,72 a −0,39, p < 0,00001) com heterogeneidade (p = 0,19, I2 = 24%), do Instantaneous Total Nasal Symptom Score (DM = −0,57; IC95%: −0,75 a −0,39, p < 0,00001) com heterogeneidade (p = 0,34, I2 = 11%). Um efeito significante no escore do Reflective Nasal Symptom Score Subtotal (DM = −0,15; IC 95%: −0,18 a −0,13, p < 0,00001) com heterogeneidade (p = 0,12, I2 = 24%) também foi demonstrado. O escore do Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire score (RQLQs) (DM = −0,27; IC 95%: −0,39 a −0,15, p < 0,00001) com heterogeneidade (p = 0,58, I2 = 0%) também foi significantemente reduzido no tratamento com ciclesonida. Além disso, a diferença em relação aos eventos adversos emergentes do tratamento entre os dois grupos não foi significante. Conclusão: A ciclesonida pode melhorar a rinite alérgica perene sem aumentar os eventos adversos. Esse fármaco pode ser outra opção valiosa para a rinite alérgica perene no futuro.

Abstract Introduction: Allergic rhinitis is a chronic inflammatory disease which affects 1 out of 6 individuals. Perennial allergic rhinitis accounts for 40% of AR cases. Ciclesonide is one of the relatively new intranasal steroid for allergic rhinitis. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ciclesonide in the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis. Methods: We searched Pubmed, Scientific Citation Index, Embase, Clinical Trial Registries for randomized controlled trials and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials to find out the randomized controlled Trial comparing ciclesonide with placebo for PAR. Results: Eight studies were included. In comparison with placebo groups, ciclesonide groups significantly decreased Reflective Total Nasal Symptom Score (MD = −0.56; 95% CI −0.72 to 0.39, p < 0.00001) with heterogeneity (p = 0.19, I2 = 24%), Instantaneous Total Nasal Symptom Score (MD = −0.57; 95% CI −0.75 to −0.39, p < 0.00001) with heterogeneity (p = 0.34, I2 = 11%). A significant effect for Reflective Nasal Symptom Score Subtotal (MD = −0.15; 95% CI −0.18 to −0.13, p < 0.00001) with heterogeneity (p = 0.12, I2 = 24%) was also demonstrated. Abstract A large number of cracks occur in concrete structure after projectile penetration. The study of crack distribution and propagation process is the basis of damage assessment, structural repair and high dynamic fracture mechanism. In this paper, wire saw cutting, X-ray computed tomography (X-CT) and mechanical property testing of damaged concrete were carried out on deep penetration targets. According to X-CT images of radial core samples in target and the mechanical properties of damaged concrete, the crack distribution in the target was divided into a plastic damage zone and a brittle damage zone, and the microcracks only existed in the plastic damage zone. The initial growth process of three-dimensional cracks was obtained by X-CT images of axial core samples in target, that is, the cracks in the pure mortar target gradually developed from the radial direction to the tangential direction, and the target containing coarse aggregate directly formed tangential cracks. The propagation progress of cracks was obtained through the target section, that is, the tangential cracks bent in the pure mortar target, and were relatively straight in the target containing coarse aggregate. A crack propagation model was established, and the tangential crack formula and the crack propagation velocity were obtained.

RESUMEN El sistema electrohidráulico de carga servo se aplicó para realizar pruebas de carga cíclicas para muestras de roca fracturada. De acuerdo con los resultados de la prueba de fatiga (resistencia a la fatiga), el modelo de función de potencia se utilizó para ajustar y analizar los datos de la prueba; el grado de ajuste de la curva se determinó mediante el coeficiente de correlación, y se ajustó el resultado. Se analizaron los principales factores que influyen en la resistencia a la fatiga de las muestras. La tensión límite superior fue el factor más importante que afectó la vida a la fatiga (resistencia de fatiga) de las muestras. En las mismas condiciones, el espécimen tuvo una vida a la fatiga más corta cuando se aplicó por un límite superior de tensión; la roca de diferentes tipos y fuerzas no solo tuvo una vida a la fatiga diferente, sino que también tuvo diferentes grados de sensibilidad entre la vida a la fatiga y la tensión límite superior; la vida a la fatiga de los especímenes fue significativamente influenciada debido a diferentes daños iniciales.

ABSTRACT The electro-hydraulic servo loading system was applied to make cyclic loading tests for fractured rock-like specimens. According to the results of the fatigue test, the power function model was used to fit and analyze the test data, and the fitting degree of the curve was determined by the correlation coefficient, and the result was fitted well. The main factors influencing the fatigue life of specimens were analyzed. The upper limit stress was the most important factor affecting the fatigue life of specimens. Under the same conditions, the specimen had a shorter fatigue life when being applied by higher upper limit stress; the rock of different types and strengths not only had different fatigue life, but also had the different sensitive degrees between the fatigue life and the upper limit stress; the fatigue life of specimens was significantly influenced due to different initial damages.

ABSTRACT: The impacts of continuous cropping of banana on soil microbiological and biochemical properties are little understood. In this study, we evaluated the variations in soil bacterial community abundance and diversity, microbial biomass carbon (MBC) and nitrogen (MBN) as well as soil enzyme activities involved in C, N and P cycles as affected by continuous cropping of banana. An initial increase in bacterial 16S rRNA copy and soil microbial biomass was observed in the second cropping and then decreased until the fourth cropping. The diversity of bacterial community showed a continuous decrease throughout the experiment. In addition, continuous cropping of banana caused shifts in bacterial community composition and structures. Soil urease and invertase exhibited the highest activities in the second cropping and then decreased gradually from the second to the fourth cropping. The phosphatase activity showed a gradual increase from the first to the third cropping. The bacterial 16S rRNA copy was positively correlated with the contents of MBN and urease activities. The results indicated that continuous cropping of banana was responsible for the disturbance of the bacterial community and that the effect on enzyme activity varies depending on the type of soil enzyme.

Abstract Deep penetration experiments were performed on five types of concrete with different coarse aggregate content. The projectile diameter was 29.9 mm, the initial velocity was 647 m/s, and the volume fraction of the coarse aggregate was between 0% and 59.0%. The damage laws and damage mechanism of the target were analyzed. The pure mortar target had the smallest radial crack origin diameter and crater depth. Too high of the coarse aggregate content led to the formation of many voids, which led to the disappearance of radial cracks, crater surface bypassing the coarse aggregate and a large reduction of crater diameter. The influence laws and mechanism of the coarse aggregate on the penetration depth were also analyzed. The increase of volume fraction of coarse aggregate was beneficial to reducing penetration depth and the increase of voids volume fraction was opposite. The penetration depth was the lowest when the volume fraction of the coarse aggregate reached the maximum and no voids formed. By modifying the static resistance stress in the Forrestal penetration formula, a penetration depth model considering the volume fractions of the coarse aggregate and voids was established. The predicted results were in good agreement with the experimental results.

Abstract Realgar is a naturally occurring arsenic sulfide (or Xionghuang, in Chinese). It contains over 90% tetra-arsenic tetrasulfide (As4S4). Currently, realgar has been confirmed the antitumor activities, both in vitro and in vivo, of realgar extracted using Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (A. ferrooxidans). Bioleaching, a new technology to greatly improve the use rate of arsenic extraction from realgar using bacteria, is a novel methodology that addressed a limitation of the traditional method for realgar preparation. The present systematic review reports on the research progress in realgar bioleaching and its antitumor mechanism as an anticancer agent. A total of 93 research articles that report on the biological activity of extracts from realgar using bacteria and its preparation were presented in this review. The realgar bioleaching solution (RBS) works by inducing apoptosis when it is used to treat tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. When it is used to treat animal model organisms in vivo, such as mice and Caenorhabditis elegans, tumor tissues grew more slowly, with mass necrosis. Meanwhile, the agent also showed obvious inhibition of tumor cell growth. Bioleaching technology greatly improves the utilization of realgar and is a novel methodology to improve the traditional method.
