RESUMO: O manejo do mofo branco (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) tem sido um dos principais limitantes de produção enfrentados por produtores de soja. Tendo em vista a complexidade do manejo desta doença e da estrutura de resistência do patógeno, o presente trabalho foi conduzido nos municípios de Guarapuava e Palmas - Paraná visando o manejo do mofo branco na cultura da soja utilizando palhadas de cereais de inverno, aveia, centeio e triticale. Inicialmente, cultivou-se os diferentes cereais de inverno, simultaneamente, nas duas áreas de estudo (Guarapuava e Palmas - PR). Avaliou-se a produção de palhada, a altura de plantas, a massa verde e seca da parte aérea. Posteriormente, semeou-se soja ‘BMX Apolo’ sobre as palhadas de cereais e avaliou-se a incidência e a severidade do mofo branco. No experimento in vitro, adicionou-se 20 escleródios cobertos por uma camada de palhas (aveia, centeio e triticale) e após 98 dias, observou-se germinação carpogênica somente no tratamento testemunha. Independentemente do local de estudo, o centeio destacou-se com maiores altura e massa verde. O cultivo sobre palhada de cereais de inverno reduziu a incidência e severidade de mofo branco com destaque para a palhada de centeio, reduzindo a incidência da doença em 77,7% e 76,6%, em Palmas e Guarapuava, respectivamente.

ABSTRACT: The management of white mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum(Lib.) De Bary) has been one of the main production limitations faced by soybean (Glycine max L.) producers. Considering the complex management of this disease and resistance structure of the pathogen, the present study was conducted in the municipalities of Guarapuava and Palmas in Paraná with the objective of managing the white mold of soybean using straws of winter cereals, such as oat, rye, and triticale. Initially, the three winter cereals were cultivated simultaneously in both the study areas. Straw production, plant height, and shoot fresh and dry weight were evaluated. Subsequently, BMX Apollo soybean was cultivated on cereal straws, and the incidence and severity of white mold were evaluated. In the in vitro experiment, 20 sclerotia covered by a layer of cereal (oat, rye, and triticale) straws were added and carpogenic germination was observed only in the control treatment after 98 days. Regardless of the study site, rye presented greater height and fresh weight than the remaining two cereals. Soybean cultivation on winter cereal straw reduced the incidence and severity of white mold. Cultivation on rye straw reduced mold incidence by 77.7% and 76.6% in Palmas and Guarapuava, respectively.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o efeito do extrato de alho e do óleo vegetal no controle do míldio da videira cv. Isabel (Vitis labrusca). A severidade da doença, expressa pela área abaixo da curva de progresso da doença (AACPD), e a germinação de esporângios de seu agente causal Plasmopara viticola foram as variáveis avaliadas. Os tratamentos consistiram em 0; 5; 10; 15; 20; 25 ou 30 mL L-1 de extrato de alho adicionados de 2,5 mL L-1 óleo vegetal, calda bordalesa (1:1:100) e testemunha (sem tratamento). No teste de germinação, utilizou-se mancozebe (2 g L-1) como tratamento-padrão. Em condições de campo, observou-se redução da severidade do míldio com o óleo vegetal, sendo que o extrato de alho, a partir de 20 mL L-1, potencializou tal ação biocida. A germinação dos esporângios de P. viticola variou em função do tempo de exposição ao extrato de alho, não apresentando boa eficiência quando comparada ao tratamento com calda bordalesa e mancozebe. O óleo vegetal não influenciou na germinação dos esporângios desse patógeno.

The objective of this study was to verify the effect of garlic extract and vegetable oil in the control of downy mildew cv. Isabel (Vitis labrusca). Disease severity expressed as area under disease progress curve (AUDPC) and germination of the sporangia of its causal agent Plasmopara viticola were evaluated. The treatments tested consisted of 0; 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 mL L-1 of garlic extract added to 2.5 mL L-1 of vegetable oil, bordeaux mixture (1:1:100) and control. Mancozeb (2 g L-1) was used as a standard treatment in the germination test. In field conditions, there was reduction in severity of mildew with vegetable oil, and garlic extract from 20 mL L-1 potentiated such biocide action. The sporangium germination of P. viticola varied depending on the length of exposure to garlic extract, showing no efficient when compared to treatment with bordeaux mixture and mancozeb. Vegetable oil had no effect on sporangium germination of this pathogen.

Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar o efeito da quitosana no desenvolvimento in vitro de plântulas de videira cv. Merlot e sua atividade antifúngica sobre Elsinoe ampelina. No primeiro experimento, explantes da cultivar Merlot foram transferidos para meio de cultura DSD1, acrescido das concentrações 0; 25; 50,100; 150 e 200 mg L-1 de quitosana. Após 90 dias de cultivo in vitro, as plântulas foram avaliadas quanto ao número de raízes e de folhas, porcentagem de enraizamento e brotação, comprimento de raízes e de parte aérea, massa fresca da planta. No segundo experimento, incorporou-se às concentrações 0, 60, 120, 180, 240 e 300 mg L-1 de quitosana ao meio BDA, onde inoculou-se o fungo. Posteriormente, avaliou-se o crescimento micelial aos 6 e 9 dias de incubação a 25º C no escuro. No primeiro experimento para as variáveis comprimento médio da parte aérea, massa fresca da planta inteira, porcentagem de enraizamento e porcentagem de estacas brotadas houve decréscimo linear em função das concentrações de quitosana. No segundo experimento, houve efeito linear negativo em função das concentrações crescentes de quitosana, sendo que a inibição do crescimento micelial foi de 81,7%, demonstrando o grande potencial do uso de quitosana no controle da antracnose da videira.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the effects of the chitosan on the development in vitro plantlets of grapevines cv. Merlot and its antifungal action on Elsinoe ampelina. In the first trial, explants of the grapevine cv. Merlot were transferred to growing medium DSD1 plus concentrations of 0; 25; 50; 100; 150 and 200 mg L-1 of the product. After 90 days of in vitro cultivation the plantlets were evaluated for root and leaf number, root and shoot length and fresh mass of roots and shoots. In the second experiment, doses of 0; 60; 120; 180; 240 and 300 mg L-1 were incorporated to the BDA media, where the fungus was inoculated. The mycelial diameter was evaluated at 6 and 9 days after incubation at 25° C in the dark. In the first experiment, for the variables shoot length average, plant fresh mass, rooting percentage and sprouted cuttings there was a linear reduction in function of chitosan doses. In the second trial, there was a negative linear effect with mycelial growth inhibition, of 81.7%, showing great the potential of chitosan in the control of grapevine anthracnose.

Este trabalho teve como objetivos avaliar o efeito da quitosana no controle dos fungos Plasmopara viticola e Elsinoe ampelina, agentes causais do míldio e da antracnose da videira, respectivamente. As concentrações de 0, 20, 40, 80 e 160 mg L-1 de quitosana foram utilizadas nos seguintes experimentos: testes de crescimento micelial, de germinação de esporos e ensaio em condições de campo. Para os dois últimos ensaios, adicionou-se tratamentos padrões com mancozeb e calda bordalesa. Verificou-se redução no crescimento micelial de E. ampelina sendo que a maior concentração de quitosana (160 mg L-1) reduziu em 57% o desenvolvimento do fungo, 192 horas após incubação. Nos testes de germinação, a dose de 160 mg L-1 de quitosana reduziu a germinação de esporos de E. ampelina em aproximadamente 98% e de P. viticola em 60%, não diferindo dos tratamentos com calda bordalesa e mancozeb. Nos ensaios a campo as maiores doses de quitosana (80 e 160 mg L-1) apresentaram um decréscimo na severidade de antracnose entre 93 e 81%. Para o míldio, a concentração de 160 mg L-1 apresentou um decréscimo de aproximadamente 81%. Baseando-se nestes resultados, pode-se concluir que a quitosana tem um grande potencial no controle do míldio e da antracnose da videira.

This work aimed to evaluate the effect of chitosan on the control of fungi Elsinoe ampelina and Plasmopara viticola, the causal agents of downy mildew and anthracnose in grapevines, respectively. The concentrations of 0, 20, 40, 80 and 160 mg L-1 chitosan were used in the following trials: mycelial growth, spore germination, and experiment in field conditions. For the last two trials standard treatments with mancozeb and bordeax mixture were added. There was a reduction in E. ampelina mycelial growth and the highest chitosan concentration (160 mg L-1) decreased by 57% the fungus development at 192 hours after incubation. In the germination tests, the concentration of 160 mg L-1 chitosan reduced spore germination in E. ampelina by approximately 98% and P. viticola by 60%, not differing from the treatments with bordeaux mixture and mancozeb. In the field trial the highest chitosan concentrations (80 and 160 mg L-1) decreased anthracnose severity between 93 and 81%. For downy mildew, the concentration of 160 mg L-1 decreased the disease by approximately 81%. Based on these results, chitosan has a great potential for the control of downy mildew and anthracnose in grapevines.
