Resumo O crescimento populacional contribuiu para o aumento da produção avícola, o que implica na geração de resíduo de cama de aviário. Uma das alternativas para tratar esses resíduos é a digestão anaeróbia, na qual a partida do digestor e a qualidade do digestato gerado estão relacionadas ao material a ser digerido e às condições de operação, nas quais o uso do inóculo é um dos fatores. Portanto, este estudo teve como objetivo investigar como os inóculos influenciam na digestão anaeróbia da cama de aves, bem como na redução de sólidos e da demanda química de oxigênio (DQO). Para isso, foram testados dois inóculos (bovinos e suínos) no processo de digestão, com cargas de alimentação diárias de 0.67; 1.00 e 1.67 gSV L-1 dia-1. Para a análise estatística foi considerado o delineamento em parcelas subdivididas e os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância com as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey com 5% de significância. Em relação aos inóculos de bovinos e suínos, concluiu-se que ambos são indicados ao processo. No entanto, o inóculo suíno é mais indicado porque teve uma melhor remoção de sólidos totais (TS) e DQO.

Abstract Population growth has contributed to increasing poultry production, entailing a high waste loading, mainly poultry litter. One of the alternatives to treat such residues is anaerobic digestion, in which digester startup and generated-digestate quality are related to the material to be digested and to operation conditions, wherein inoculum use is one of the factors. This study therefore aimed to investigate how digestates, such as inocula, influence poultry litter (PL) anaerobic digestion, as well the reduction of solids and chemical oxygen demand (COD). For this, two inocula (bovine and swine digestates) were tested in the digestion process. The inocula were added at loads of 0.67, 1.00 and 1.67 gVS.L-1day-1. A split-plot design was developed and data underwent analysis of variance with means compared by the Tukey's test at 5% significance. Concerning bovine and swine inocula, it was concluded that both are indicated in the process. However, swine inoculum is better indicated because it had a better removal of total solids (TS), volatile solids (VS) and COD.

As fecularias produzem grande volume de manipueira que, estabilizado em lagoas, provoca desperdício da energia do biogás e a poluição da atmosfera. Para contribuir com a reversão dessa realidade, desenvolveu-se esta pesquisa de tratamento de manipueira de fecularia em reator anaeróbio tubular horizontal piloto, com meio suporte, em peças de bambu. O reator foi escavado no solo e impermeabilizado com geomembrana, com volume de 33,6 m³ e alimentação contínua por gravidade. Os indicadores de estabilidade foram pH, relação acidez volátil/alcalinidade total e produção de biogás. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, com respostas submetidas à análise multivariada. As cargas orgânicas em termos de demanda química de oxigênio (DQO) foram de 0,556; 0,670; 0,678 e 0,770 g L-1 e em sólidos voláteis (SV) de 0,659; 0,608; 0,570 e 0,761 g L-1 para os tempos de retenção hidráulica (TRH) de 13,0; 11,5; 10,0 e 7,0 dias, respectivamente. As reduções médias de DQO foram de 88; 80; 88 e 67% e de SV de 76; 77; 65 e 61%, respectivamente. As produções de biogás por DQO consumida foram de 0,368; 0,795; 0,891 e 0,907 L g-1, por SV consumidos de 0,524; 0,930; 1,757 e 0,952 L g-1 e volumétrica de 0,131; 0,330; 0,430 e 0,374 L L-1 d-1. O reator permaneceu estável, e as peças de bambu, em análise visual ao final do experimento, apresentaram-se fisicamente íntegras.

The cassava starch industries generate a large volume of wastewater effluent that, stabilized in ponds, wastes its biogas energy and pollutes the atmosphere. To contribute with the reversion of this reality, this manipueira treatment research was developed in one phase anaerobic horizontal pilot reactor with support medium in bamboo pieces. The reactor was excavated into the ground and sealed with geomembrane in HDPE, having a volume equal to 33.6 m³ and continuous feeding by gravity. The stability indicators were pH, volatile acidity/total alkalinity ratio and biogas production. The statistical analyses were performed by a completely randomized design, with answers submitted to multivariate analysis. The organical loads in COD were 0.556; 0.670; 0.678 and 0.770 g L-1 and in volatile solids (VS) of 0.659; 0.608; 0.570 and 0.761 g L-1 for the hydraulic retention times (HRT) of 13.0; 11.5; 10.0 and 7.0 days, respectively. The reductions in COD were 88; 80; 88 and 67% and for VS of 76; 77; 65 and 61%. The biogas productions relatively to the consumed COD were 0.368; 0.795; 0.891 and 0.907 Lg-1, for the consumed VS of 0.524; 0.930; 1.757 and 0.952 Lg-1 and volumetric of 0.131; 0.330; 0.430 and 0.374 L L-1 d-1. The reactor remained stable and the bamboo pieces, in visual examination at the end of the experiment, showed to be in good physical conditions.

O trabalho foi desenvolvido em duas etapas: a produção de mudas de couve-chinesa em bandejas e posterior transplante para o campo, objetivando avaliar o desempenho de diferentes substratos sobre o desenvolvimento da cultura. Para isso determinou-se, tanto na fase de formação das mudas, quanto nas plantas adultas, o comprimento da parte aérea, número de folhas, comprimento da raiz, massa seca da parte aérea, massa seca da raiz e diâmetro do coleto. A etapa de produção de mudas foi conduzida em ambiente protegido, com os seguintes tratamentos: T0 substrato comercial Plantmax® (HA); T1: 100% composto; T2: 95% composto + 2,5% areia + 2,5% pó de rocha; T3: 90% composto + 3% areia + 7% de pó de rocha e T4: 85% composto + 6% areia + 9% pó de rocha. Na produção de mudas, os substratos orgânicos, formulados com 100% e 85% composto, apresentaram melhores resultados, aos 15 e 28 DAS, respectivamente. Os resultados de campo demonstraram que adição de pó de rocha é um fator determinante no desempenho das mudas, sendo os melhores resultados obtidos nas parcelas cultivadas com mudas obtidas nos substratos formulados com 7 e 9% de pó de basalto.

The research was carried out in two stages: the production of seedlings of chinese cabbage in trays with subsequent transplantation for the field, aiming to evaluate the performance of different substrates on the culture development. For this reason it was determined, both at the stage of formation of the seedlings, as in adult plants the length of the aerial part, number of leaves, root length, dry mass of the aerial part, root dry mass and diameter of the root collar. The experiment was conducted in a protected environment with the following treatments: T0 Plantmax substrate® (HA); T1: 100% compound; T2: 95% compost + 2.5% sand + 2.5% rock powder; T3: 90% compost + 3% sand + 7% powdered rock and T4: 85% compost + 6% sand + 9% rock powder. In the production of seedlings, the organic substrates formulated with 100% and 85% compound, had better results, the 15 and 28, respectively. The results of field have shown that the addition of rock powder is a determinant factor in the performance of seedlings, with the best results in the plots cultivated with seedlings obtained in the substrates formulated with 7 and 9% of basalt powder.

O presente artigo mostra um estudo sobre a produção de biogás a partir de manipueira, considerando o volume de um reator de fluxo tubular horizontal de fase única. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a produção de biogás aumentando-se as cargas orgânicas e os volumes de alimentação, o que resultou em redução do tempo de retenção hidráulica (TRH). O reator foi alimentado continuamente, com cargas orgânicas de 1,18; 1,28; 1,57 e 2,68 g DQO L-1rd-1 (gramas de demanda química de oxigênio por litro de reator por dia) em TRHs de 15; 13,0; 8,3; 6,6 dias, respectivamente. As produções de biogás foram de 0,52; 0,41; 0,65 e 0,63 L L-1rd-1, destacando-se que o primeiro TRH avaliado foi o de 13 dias, seguido de 8,3; 6,6 e 15 dias. Do estudo, concluiu-se que, com a diminuição do TRH, ocorre maior produção de biogás por volume de reator. Consequentemente, através da utilização do TRH adequado, pode-se aproveitar melhor o volume do reator, fato que resultará em economia na implantação da tecnologia em indústrias processadoras de mandioca.

This article presents a study on biogas production from wastewater cassava considering the volume of a one-phase horizontal tubular flow reactor. The objective was to evaluate the biogas production, enlarging the organic loadings and feeding volums, resulting in minor hydraulic retention times (HRT). The reactor was continuously fed with organic charges corresponding to 1.18; 1.28; 1.57 and 2.68 g COD L-1r d-1 (grams of oxygen chemical demand per liter of reactor per day), resulting in hydraulic retention times 15; 13; 8.3 and 6.6 days. The correspondent specific biogas productions were, respectively, 0.52; 0.41; 0.65 and 0.63 L L-1rd-1 , emphasizing that the 13-day was the first HRT rated, followed by 8.3, 6.6 and 15 days. It was concluded that with the HRT decrease occurred larger biogas production per reactor volume. Therefore, with the correct selection for HRT, it is possible to make the best of the reactor volume, resulting in economy at the technology implantation in cassava starch industries.
