OBJECTIVE: To analyze our experience and learning curve for robotic pyeloplasty during this robotic procedure. METHODS: Ninety-nine patients underwent 100 consecutive procedures. Cases were divided into 4 groups of 25 consecutive procedures to analyze the learning curve. RESULTS: The median anastomosis times were 50.0, 36.8, 34.2 and 29.0 minutes (p=0.137) in the sequential groups, respectively. The median operative times were 144.6, 119.2, 114.5 and 94.6 minutes, with a significant difference between groups 1 and 2 (p=0.015), 1 and 3 (p=0.002), 1 and 4 (p<0.001) and 2 and 4 (p=0.022). The mean hospital stay was 7.08, 4.76, 4.88 and 4.20 days, with a difference between groups 1 and 2 (p<0.001), 1 and 3 (p<0.001) and 1 and 4 (p<0.001). Clinical and radiological improvements were observed in 98.9% of patients. One patient presented with recurrent obstruction. CONCLUSIONS: Our results demonstrate a high success rate with low complication rates. A significant decrease in hospital stay and surgical time was evident after 25 cases.

Nicholas de Cusa’s De Mente pretends to be a study of the mind as the measure of the universe and the image of God. In this book, Nicolas presents himself as an idiot or ignorant and takes the example of manufacture of a spoon. The spoon, simple tool, becomes a symbol of being. The human ability to create this tool expresses the human nature and his effort to understand and cocreate the world, God and His work of creation. Thus, the spoon becomes a mirror that allows us to discover reality, even from afar; and moreover allows us to approach to Christ also our first or main mirror.

El De Mente de Nicolás de Cusa quiere ser un estudio de la mente como medida del universo y como imagen de Dios. En este libro, Nicolás se presenta a sí mismo como un Idiota o Ignorante y toma el ejemplo de la fabricación de una cuchara. La cuchara, instrumento simple, llega a ser símbolo del ser. El arte y la fabricación de este instrumento reflejan el ser humano y su esfuerzo por entender y construir el mundo (co-crear), por acercarse a Dios y a su obra de creación. La cuchara se transforma en un espejo que permite ver la realidad aunque sea de lejos; permite sobre todo acercarse al primer espejo que es Cristo.

In his masterwork Glory of the Lord, Hans Urs von Balthasar wrote a chapter dedicated to Nicholas of Cusa. It´s a short treatise on the search for the analogia entis using the Cusan system. As the chapter develops, this work shows how Nicholas expresses his own search for an explanation of the world. It begins with God through Docta ignorancia, daring to ask, how does one explain a way to join the one and the many? Nicholas searches for names from which to sustain himself, but only finds a God who contains within himself his Creation and a Creation that makes God explicit. It is the complicatio-explicatio that allows one to understand the Cusan theory of the coincidence of opposites. Above all, one sees that man is the measure of all, he who is the image of God.

En su libro ´Gloria´, H.-U von Balthasar escribió un capítulo dedicado a Nicolás de Cusa. Es un pequeño tratado sobre la búsqueda de la analogia entis a través del sistema propio del Cusano. Siguiendo el desarrollo del capítulo, el trabajo muestra cómo Nicolás expresa su búsqueda de una explicación del mundo. Parte de Dios a través de la Docta Ignorancia, se atreve a hacer conjeturas: ¿cómo explicar, cómo unir lo uno y lo múltiple? Nicolás busca nombres de donde sostenerse, pero sólo encuentra a un Dios que contiene en sí a su creación y una creación que explicita a Dios. Es la complicatio-explicatio que permite entender la teoría cusana de la coincidencia de los opuestos. Sobre todo, ve que el hombre es medida de todo, el que es imagen de Dios.
