Abstract Pathophysiological characteristics of obesity includes chronic inflammation. Complications in the respiratory tract are related to bodily problems, which lead to a restriction of lung function due to reduced volume, inducing an increase in respiratory work. SARS-CoV-2 has a high potential for contamination by respiratory secretions and, therefore, obesity is one of the main risk factors for complications. The relations between obesity and SARS-CoV-2 are complex, since the immunological agents that are activated by these processes are ubiquitous. It is well-known that network analysis can generate results about the dynamics of complex biological phenomena, such as signalling networks, neural networks, immunological networks, and so on. Here we propose and analysis and interpretation of the complex relationships between obesity and COVID-19 in a meta-analysis study using complex network modelling and the theoretical knockouts technique. In a complex network of this kind, vertices are considered as immunological agents and their relation as directed edges. We built two networks: one related to COVID-19 and obesity (synergy) and another only with COVID-19. In both networks, we have performed the knockout of all 52 vertices. These knockouts indicated that, besides the Infected Host Cell and COVID viral particle, IL-17; CD40, AR and AL channels; and Th17, were the most relevant agents in this complex network. Overall, our study indicated the superior role and importance of IL-17 in this context. Such result corroborates with the role of IL-17 in identification and prognosis of Acute Respiratory Discomfort Syndrome (ARDS).

Resumen Los cambios en el uso del suelo provocan un mosaico de áreas en el paisaje con diferentes usos y coberturas. Esta condición compromete las reservas de nutrientes del suelo, especialmente el fósforo (P). En ese sentido, este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar las concentraciones de fósforo extraíble y total en 04 clases de suelo (Argisol Amarillo, Neosol Litólico, Entisol y Planosol), 04 usos y coberturas del suelo (Caatinga Nativa Abierta, Caatinga Nativa Densa, Agricultura y Pastos), en 04 profundidades (0-10, 10-20, 20-30 y 30-40 cm). Para determinar el P extraíble se utilizó el Mehlich 1 y la lectura colorimétrica. El fósforo total se determinó por digestión de azufre y colorimetría. Los resultados de las concentraciones de P extraíble y total fueron mayores para las clases Argisol y Planosol. Se observó que hubo reducciones en las concentraciones de P extraíble entre las capas del suelo a medida que se profundizaba el perfil del suelo. Las profundidades entre 0 y 20 cm generalmente mostraron concentraciones más altas de fósforo extraíble y total en la agricultura. Entre las cuatro clases de suelo estudiadas, los valores promedio más altos de existencias de P extraíble y total se presentaron en los Neosoles y Planosoles Litólicos, principalmente debido al uso agrícola. La deficiencia de P ha sido un factor limitante para la productividad agrícola y, especialmente en la región de Agreste de Pernambuco, donde las principales clases de suelo con cobertura natural tienen niveles bajos de P disponible y total.

Abstract Changes in land use cause a mosaic of areas in the landscape with different uses and coverage. This condition compromises soil nutrient stocks, especially phosphorus (P). In this sense, this study aimed to determine the concentrations of extractable and total phosphorus in 04 soil classes (Yellow Argisol, Litholic Neosol, Entisol and Planosol), 04 uses and covers (Open Native Caatinga, Dense Native Caatinga, Agriculture and Pasture) of the soil, in 04 depths (0-10, 10-20, 20-30 and 30-40 cm). To determine the extractable P, the Mehlich 1 and colorimetric reading were used. Total phosphorus was determined by sulfur digestion and colorimetry. The results of extractable and total P concentrations were higher for the Argisol and Planosol classes. It was observed that there were reductions in extractable P concentrations between the soil layers as the soil profile deepened. Depths between 0-20 cm generally showed higher concentrations of extractable and total phosphorus in agriculture. Among the four soil classes studied, the highest average values of extractable and total P stocks occurred in Litholic Neosols and Planosols, mainly due to agricultural use. P deficiency has been a limiting factor to agricultural productivity and, especially in the Agreste region of Pernambuco, where the main soil classes under natural cover have low levels of available and total P.

Resumo Objetivo: Mapear as evidências de pesquisa disponíveis para avaliação clínica da maturação da fístula arteriovenosa. Métodos: Estudo do tipo Scoping review, com busca realizada entre outubro a novembro de 2019 nas bases de dados JBI, Cochrane, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, PubMed, e CINAHL, sendo incluídos estudos com pacientes maiores de 18 anos, com doença renal crônica pré-dialítica ou já em hemodiálise, submetidos à cirurgia da fístula arteriovenosa; texto disponível; e idiomas inglês, espanhol ou português. Foram excluídos estudos relacionados a fase pós-operatória ou relacionados a cuidados com próteses/enxertos arteriovenosos. Resultados: Foram identificadas 1954 publicações elegíveis, dos quais 38 compuseram a amostra final. O estudo compreendeu publicações entre 1998 e 2018, com abrangência internacional do tema (94,7%). O profissional executor da avaliação foi predominantemente o enfermeiro ou equipe de enfermagem (47,4%), e a avaliação teve início no pós-cirúrgico imediato, até meses após a cirurgia. Dentre as técnicas de avaliação clínica, 23 estudos (60,5%) recomendaram o exame físico e 15 (39,5%) a combinação anamnese e exame físico. Conclusão: A presente revisão apresentou o mapeamento de evidências, nas quais a avaliação clínica da fístula arteriovenosa deve incluir anamnese e exame físico, sendo apresentados vários elementos ligados a permeabilidade e respostas vasculares do acesso. Houve a predominância do profissional enfermeiro como avaliador, sendo ressaltada a necessidade do treinamento para execução da avaliação, além de uma avaliação mais abrangente, com aplicação do Processo e Teorias de Enfermagem, e Linguagens Padronizadas, o que pode propiciar um novo campo de investigação e desenvolvimento na área.

Abstract Objective: To map the available research evidence for arteriovenous fistula maturation clinical assessment. Methods: A scoping review, with a search conducted between October and November 2019 at JBI, Cochrane, Virtual Health Library, PubMed, and CINAHL. Studies with patients over 18 years old, with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease or already under hemodialysis, who underwent arteriovenous fistula surgery were included; available text; and in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Studies related to the postoperative phase or related to care with prostheses/arteriovenous grafts were excluded. Results: One thousand nine hundred and fifty-four eligible studies were identified; 38 made up the final sample. The study comprised studies between 1998 and 2018, with an international scope of the theme (94.7%). The professional who performed the assessment was predominantly the nurse or nursing team (47.4%), and assessment started in the immediate post-surgical period, even months after surgery. Among the clinical assessment techniques, 23 studies (60.5%) recommended physical examination and 15 (39.5%) the combination of medical history and physical examination. Conclusion: This review presented the mapping of evidence, in which arteriovenous fistula clinical assessment must include medical history and physical examination. Several elements related to the permeability and vascular responses of the access were presented. There was a predominance of professional nurses as evaluators. There was need for training to carry out the assessment, in addition to a more comprehensive assessment, with the application of the Nursing Theory and Standardized Languages and Process, which may provide with a new field of research and development in the area.

Resumen Objetivo: Mapear las evidencias de investigación disponibles para evaluación clínica de la maduración de la fístula arteriovenosa. Métodos: Estudio tipo scoping review, cuya búsqueda fue realizada entre octubre y noviembre de 2019 en las bases de datos JBI, Cochrane, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, PubMed y CINAHL. Se incluyeron estudios con pacientes mayores de 18 años, con enfermedad renal crónica predialítica o ya en hemodiálisis, sometidos a cirugía de fístula arteriovenosa y textos disponibles en inglés, español o portugués. Se excluyeron estudios relacionados con la fase posoperatoria o relacionados con cuidados de prótesis/injertos. Resultados: Se identificaron 1.954 publicaciones elegibles, de las cuales 38 formaron parte de la muestra final. El estudio comprendió publicaciones entre 1998 y 2018, con alcance internacional del tema (94,7 %). El profesional que ejecutó la evaluación fue predominantemente el enfermero o el equipo de enfermería (47,4 %) y la evaluación comenzó en el posoperatorio inmediato, hasta meses después de la cirugía. Entre las técnicas de evaluación clínica, 23 estudios (60,5 %) recomendaron el examen físico y 15 (39,5 %) la combinación entre anamnesis y examen físico. Conclusión: La revisión presentó el mapeo de evidencias, en las cuales la evaluación clínica de la fístula arteriovenosa debe incluir anamnesis y examen físico. También se presentaron varios elementos relacionados con la permeabilidad y respuestas vasculares del acceso. Hubo una predominancia del profesional enfermero como evaluador y se destaca la necesidad de entrenamiento para llevar a cabo la evaluación, además de una evaluación más abarcadora, con aplicación del proceso y teorías de enfermería y un lenguaje estandarizado, lo que puede proporcionar un nuevo campo de investigación y desarrollo del área.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a soroprevalência e os fatores de risco associados à presença de anticorpos contra Toxoplasma gondii e Neospora caninum em ovinos do Paraná. A detecção dos anticorpos para T. gondii e N. caninum foi realizada, usando-se testes de ELISA indireto caseiro e comercial, respectivamente. A análise de regressão logística múltipla foi usada para verificar os fatores de risco associados à soroprevalência. Anticorpos anti-T. gondii e anti-N. caninum foram observados em 42,7% e em 17,6% dos animais, respectivamente. Os fatores de proteção associados à soropositividade foram “algum nível de confinamento (confinamento ou semiextensivo)” (OR=0,53) para T. gondii e “presença de mão de obra especializada” para N. caminum (OR=0,64). Os fatores de risco foram “presença de gatos” para T. gondii (OR=1,75) e “alimentação de cães com resíduos placentários” (OR=1,79) para N. caninum. Além de apresentar uma significante e simultânea soroprevalência para ambos os agentes (9,9% dos animais), os resultados também indicam que as deficiências em gestão e saneamento ambiental, a presença de reservatórios e os tipos de exploração favorecem a soropositividade. Dessa forma, estudos como estes podem auxiliar em programas sanitários e políticas públicas para a prevenção de T. gondii e N. caninum nos rebanhos ovinos do Paraná.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the seroprevalence and factors associated with the presence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii and anti-Neospora caninum antibodies in sheep from Paraná state. The detection of antibodies for T. gondii and N. caninum was performed by homemade and commercial indirect ELISA, respectively. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to verify the factors associated with the seroprevalence. Antibodies anti-T. gondii and anti-N. caninum were observed in 42.7% and in 17.6% of the animals, respectively. The protective factors associated to seropositive were “some level of confinement” (full or semi-extensive confinement) (OR=0.53) for T. gondii and “use of skilled labor” (OR=0.64) for N. caninum. The risk factors were “presence of cats” (OR=1.75) for T. gondii and “feeding of dogs with sheep placental remains” (OR=1.79) for N. caninum. In addition, to presenting a significant and simultaneous seroprevalence for both agents (9.9% of the animals), the results also indicate that deficiencies in management and environmental sanitation, the presence of reservoirs, and types of exploitation enhance the seropositivity. Thus, studies like this might support sanitary programs and public policies for the prevention of T. gondii and N. caninum in the sheep herds of Paraná state.

A investigação delimitou como objeto de estudo a formação e a experiência docente com alunos que possuem deficiência e/ou Necessidades Educacionais Especiais, buscando o entendimento que docentes universitários possuem acerca do processo inclusivo, bem como as práticas inclusivas realizadas por eles em cursos de licenciatura. A abordagem metodológica qualitativa, permitiu utilizar entrevistas semiestruturadas com docentes de duas instituições públicas federais localizadas nos estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais. A análise de dados permitiu identificar que as ações pedagógicas desenvolvidas pelos sujeitos devem respeitar os ideais inclusivos, mas que as barreiras atitudinais, físicas e o déficit na formação docente são questões que podem levar ao processo de inclusão marginal, transformando as escolas em ambientes perversos, não possibilitando, as vezes, a participação efetiva dos alunos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. É preciso avançar no entendimento de que o aluno com deficiência e/ou Necessidades Educacionais Especiais requer responsabilidade de todos, portanto, as instituições precisam apoiar o corpo docente no processo de formação continuada para que seja efetiva a formação inicial dos futuros professores que atuarão na educação básica inclusiva. As análises revelaram ainda a preocupação com a adesão em cursos voltados para os formadores sobre a educação inclusiva, além da necessidade de informações que possam orientar o professor caso ele tenha em sala de aula um aluno com deficiência e/ou Necessidades Educacionais Especiais. O estudo evidenciou que o ideal da educação inclusiva é consoante com a busca de igualdade de direitos, tanto no que se refere à escolarização quanto à participação social.

The investigation delimited the training and teaching experience of students with disabilities and / or Special Educational Needs as the object of study, seeking the understanding that university teachers have about the inclusive process, as well as the inclusive practices performed by them in undergraduate courses. The qualitative methodological approach allowed to use semi-structured interviews with professors from two federal public institutions located in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. The data analysis allowed to identify that the pedagogical actions developed by the subjects must respect the inclusive ideals, but that the attitudinal, physical barriers and the deficit in teacher education are issues that can lead to the process of marginal inclusion, transforming schools in perverse environments, sometimes not allowing the effective participation of students in the teaching-learning process. It is necessary to advance in the understanding that students with disabilities and Special Educational Needs require everyone's responsibility, therefore, institutions need to support the teaching staff in the process of continuing education so that the initial training of future teachers who will work in education is effective. inclusive basic. The analyzes also revealed the concern with adherence to courses aimed at trainers on inclusive education, in addition to the need for information that can guide the teacher if he has a student with a disability and / or Special Educational Needs in the classroom. The study showed that the ideal of inclusive education is consistent with the search for equal rights, both regarding schooling and social participation.

Resumo Este trabalho trata de uma experiência inovadora em relação a critérios para colheita de árvores em floresta natural degradada na Amazônia. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida em 535,6 ha de floresta na Fazenda Shet, em Dom Eliseu - PA, usando a base de dados do censo florestal referente a árvores com DAP ≥ 25 cm. Os critérios para colheita das árvores consideraram, prioritariamente, os seguintes elementos: grau de sanidade, qualidade do fuste (2 e 3), diâmetro máximo a permanecer na floresta (DAP < 100 cm), árvores de menor diâmetro (25 ≥ DAP ≤ 55 cm), espécies com maior densidade de árvores por unidade de área, distribuição diamétrica, segundo o coeficiente de Liocourt, manutenção das espécies intensamente exploradas no passado e com população de árvores ≤ 0,15 arv.ha-1. Foram inventariadas 46.012 árvores, pertencentes a 106 espécies, e planejadas para colheita 23,19% (10.671 árvores), aos 12 anos após a exploração anterior. Baseando-se no planejamento da colheita e seguindo os critérios, a previsão de colheita em relação à população total inventariada teve como resultado: 2,16% árvores pelo critério de sanidade; 15,45% pela forma de fuste; 0,26% pelo diâmetro máximo; 93,93% pelo menor diâmetro; 57,5% pela densidade arbórea; e 5,04% pela manutenção das espécies. A colheita foi realizada em 98,79% das árvores com sanidade comprometida; 22,20% com fuste 2 e 3; 97,39% com diâmetro máximo; 95,02% com menor diâmetro; e 90,30% com maior densidade arbórea. Foram mantidas 98,14% das espécies Astronium lecointei, Cordia goeldiana, Copaifera sp., Hymenaea courbaril, Hymenolobium petraeum, Handroanthus serratifolius e Manilkara elata, intensivamente exploradas no passado, e 98,70% de outras 53 espécies com menor abundância (≤ 0,15 arv.ha-1). O planejamento da exploração seguindo os critérios de colheita propostos possibilitou a extração de árvores em ciclos de 10 a 12 anos, sendo um tempo menor que o previsto pela legislação. A manutenção da diversidade de espécies arbóreas e a conservação da floresta em pé, previstas com esses critérios técnicos, podem ser alternativas para o manejo florestal ecológica e economicamente viável.

Abstract This paper deals with an innovative experience regarding tree harvesting criteria in degraded natural forest in the Amazon. The research was carried out in 535.6 ha of forest at Fazenda Shet, in Dom Eliseu/PA state, using the database of forest census for trees with DBH ≥ 25 cm. Criteria for tree harvesting considered, as a priority, the following elements: degree of health, shape of stem (2 and 3), maximum diameter to remain in the forest (DBH = 100 cm), smaller diameter trees (25 ≥ DBH ≤ 55 cm), species with higher tree density per unit area, diameter distribution according to the Liocourt coefficient, maintenance of intensively exploited species in the past and tree population ≤ 0.15 arv.ha-1. A total of 46,012 trees belonging to 106 species were inventoried and planned for harvest 23.19% (10,671 trees) at 12 years after the previous harvest. Based on harvest planning and following the criteria, the harvest forecast in relation to the total inventoried population resulted in: 2.16% trees by the criterion of health; 15.45% for the shape of stem; 0.26% by the maximum diameter; 93.93% for the smallest diameter; 57.5% for the tree density; and 5.04% for the maintenance of the species. Harvesting was performed on 98.79% of trees with compromised health; 22.20% with stem 2 and 3; 97.39% with maximum diameter; 95.02% with smaller diameter; and 90.30% with higher tree density. Were kept 98.14% of the species Astronium lecointei, Cordia goeldiana, Copaifera sp., Hymenaea courbaril, Hymenolobium petraeum, Handrohanthus serratifolius and Manilkara elata, intensively exploited in the past, and 98.70% of 53 other species with less abundance (≤ 0.15 arv.ha-1). The exploration planning following the proposed harvesting criteria allowed the extraction of trees in cycles of 10 to 12 years, being a shorter time than the one foreseen by the legislation. The maintenance of tree species diversity and forest conservation, provided for with these technical criteria, may be alternatives to ecologically and economically viable forest management.

ABSTRACT This work aimed to chemically and energetically characterize palm waste in the municipality of Igarapé Açú-PA. The residue was crushed, sieved and acclimated up to 12% of humidity. Chemical analyses were performed in the fresh material, according to NBR standards. Part of the residue was transformed into charcoal at 450 °C, with heating rate of 1.67 °C.min-1 and residence time of 30 minutes. Elementary analysis (CHNS-O) was carried out in the fresh and carbonized material. For biomass, means of 32.67% of lignin and 2.58% of minerals were found. Means of 79.71% for volatile materials and 9.85% for fixed carbon were also found. In the elementary analysis, mean values of 53.79% for carbon and 0.7% for sulfur were found. Palm biomass residues presented high fixed carbon, structural carbon and lignin levels, thus presenting potential to be used in the direct production of energy, activated carbon and also biochar.

Abstract AIM This study aimed to identify the effects of aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) on gait parameters after a four-month period and to investigate the effects of a four-month program of physical activity, with emphasis on the cognitive components of gait during single and dual task, in people with AD. METHODS Twenty-three people with AD, divided into the Training Group (TG; n=12; aged 79.17±7.62 years) and the Control Group (CG; n=11; aged 77.00±5.57 years), and eleven healthy older adults (Healthy Group - HG; aged 75.82±4.83 years) were included in this study. TG participated in a physical activity program for four months. The CG and HG were instructed not to participate in any kind of regular physical activity in this period. The physical activity program includes motor activities and cognitive tasks simultaneously. The participants attended a 1-h session three times a week. The kinematic parameters of gait were analyzed under two conditions, before and after a physical activity program: single and dual task. Deltas for all dependent variables between pre and post training were calculated. The deltas were compared using two-way ANOVAs with group (TG x CG and CG x HG) and task (single x dual task) as factors, with repeated measures for task. RESULTS After the training period, the TG improved stride length, duration, velocity and cadence compared to the CG. CONCLUSION Physical activity with emphasis on cognitive components promotes better reallocation of attention while walking in people with AD, improving attentional focus on the gait and thus resulting in a safer locomotive pattern.

Resumo Explorar o tema da educação inclusiva requer que discutamos a formação de professores e de seus formadores no que tange às práticas e significações sobre a diversidade humana. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a formação e as práticas de docentes universitários, atuantes em cursos de licenciatura, no que se refere aos pressupostos inclusivos. Para tanto foram analisadas, por meio da abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa descrita por González Rey, as respostas ao instrumento de autopreenchimento aplicados em 26 professores atuantes nos cursos de licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas, Química e Física de duas universidades públicas federais. Em geral, os dados nos mostram que a formação dos formadores é pouca ou nenhuma no que se refere à inclusão escolar e à aprendizagem de alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais. As barreiras atitudinais também puderam ser notadas em parte das respostas, demonstrando que esse é um problema que está longe de ser ultrapassado e configura um entrave para o sucesso do processo inclusivo. Além desses fatores, foi evidente que existe pouco apoio institucional e que as condições de inclusão nas universidades participantes ainda precisam de grandes mudanças para a efetivação desse processo. Entendemos que os resultados poderão subsidiar e ampliar a discussão da área de formação de professores, contribuindo, também, para (re)pensarmos as práticas docentes nos espaços envolvidos.

Abstract Exploring the theme of inclusive education requires that we discuss the training of teachers and their trainers, concerning the practices and meanings about human diversity. The goal of this paper is to analyze the training and practices of professors working in graduate courses with teaching degrees in relation to inclusive assumptions. In order to do so, the responses to the self-filling instrument applied in 26 professors who took part in the courses in Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Physics of two federal public universities were analyzed through the qualitative research approach described by González Rey. In general, the data show that the training of trainers referring to school inclusion and learning of students with special educational needs is little to none. Attitudinal barriers could also be noticed in some of the responses, demonstrating that this is a problem that is far from being overcome and constitutes an obstacle to the success of the inclusive process. In addition to these factors, it was evident that there is little institutional support and that the conditions for inclusion in the participating universities still require major changes for the process to be effective. We understand that the results can offer subsidies to a broaden discussion on the field of teacher training, also contributing to (re)thinking the teaching practices in the spaces involved.

Resumo Objetivou-se determinar a exigência de metionina + cistina total para frangas na fase inicial e verificar seu efeito sobre a fase de postura. Na primeira fase experimental, 720 aves (50% Lohmann LSL e 50% Lohmann Brown) com uma semana de idade foram distribuídas em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 5 x 2 (níveis de met + cis e linhagens), com quatro repetições e 18 aves por repetição. Os níveis de met + cis total estudados foram 0,536; 0,616; 0,696; 0,776; e 0,856 %. Ao atingirem 22 semanas de idade, iniciou-se a segunda fase experimental, sendo utilizadas 240 aves (50% Lohmann LSL e 50% Lohmann Brown) provenientes da primeira fase experimental. A ração fornecida às aves nesta fase foi igual para todos os tratamentos. Na fase de produção avaliaram-se os efeitos residuais das dietas fornecidas no período inicial sobre os parâmetros produtivos. As exigências de metionina + cistina recomendadas para aves leves e semipesadas, no período de 1 a 6 semanas de idade, são de 0,778% de met + cis total (correspondendo a 0,700% de met + cis digestível) e 0,739% de met + cis total (correspondendo a 0,665% de met + cis digestível), respectivamente.

Abstract An experiment was carried out to evaluate the requirement of methionine +cystine for growing pullets at starter phase (1 to 6 weeks old) and its effect on the laying phase. In the first experiment, 720 birds (50% Lohmann LSL and 50% Lohmann Brown) at one week of age were distributed on a completely randomized design, 5 x 2 factorial arrangement (levels of met + cys and strain), with four replications and 18 birds each. The levels of total methionine + cystine studied were 0.536; 0.616; 0.696; 0.776; and 0.856 %. At 22 weeks of age, 240 birds were used for the second experimental phase. The diets given to birds at this phase was the same for all the treatments. In the production phase, the residual effects of the experimental diets provided during the initial phase on the production parameters were evaluated. The level of methionine + cystine recommended for white-egg and brown-egg pullets in the period from 1 to 6 weeks of age are 0.778 % of total methionine + cystine (0.700% met + cis digestible) and 0.739% of total methionine + cystine (0.665% of digestible methionine + cystine), respectively.

RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a composição química e os valores de energia metabolizável aparente (EMA) e metabolizável aparente corrigida pelo balanço de nitrogênio, EMAn, de alguns alimentos para frangos de corte. Foram utilizados 432 pintos de corte macho, de 14 a 24 dias de idade, distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 12 tratamentos (11 alimentos e uma dieta referência), seis repetições e seis aves por unidade experimental. A metodologia utilizada foi da coleta total de excretas. Foram objetos de estudo: Duas farinhas de vísceras (FV), duas farinhas de penas e sangue (FPS), duas farinhas de carnes e ossos (FCO), soja integral tostada (SIT), farelo de soja (FS), quirera de milho (QM), farelo de trigo (FT) e milheto (M). Os valores de proteína bruta e extrato etéreo (%), EMA e EMAn (kcal/kg) foram, respectivamente: 58,84; 12,64; 3705 e 3340 para a FV 1; 57,64; 11,66; 3565 e 3241 para a FV 2; 80,58; 6,79; 3070 e 2740 para a FPS 1; 82,27; 6,38; 3060 e 2703 para a FPS 2; 48,06; 9,60; 1574 e 1283 para a FCO 1; 41,21; 9,08; 1353 e 1088 para a FCO 2; 36,45; 20,78; 3192 e 2989 para a SIT; 46,22; 1,72; 2648 e 2336 para o FS; 8,51; 3,61; 3354 e 3265 para a QM; 17,11; 3,14; 1948 e 1788 para o FT e 12,01; 4,09; 3072 e 2948 para o M. As diferenças observadas na composição química e energética evidenciam a necessidade de pesquisas para atualizar os valores nutricionais dos alimentos.

ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to determine the chemical composition and values for apparent metabolisable energy (AME), and apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen (AMEn), in broiler feeds. In the experiment, 432 male broiler chicks, 14 to 24 days old were used, distributed in a completely randomised design with 12 treatments (11 feeds and a reference diet), six replications and six birds per experimental unit. The method employed was the total collection of excreta. The feeds under study were: Two of viscera meal (VM), two feather and blood meal (FBM), two meat and bone meal (MBM), roasted whole soybean (RWS), soybean meal (SM), ground corn (GC), wheat bran (WB) and millet (M). The values for crude protein and ether extract (%), AME and AMEn (kcal/kg) were respectively: 58.84, 12.64, 3705 and 3340 for VM1; 57.64, 11.66, 3565 and 3241 for VM 2; 80.58, 6.79, 3070 2740 for FBM 1; 82.27, 6.38, 3060 2703 for FBM 2; 48.06, 9.60, 1574 and 1283 for MBM 1; 41.21, 9.08, 1353 and 1088 for MBM 2; 36.45, 20.78, 3192 and 2989 for RWS; 46.22, 1.72, 2648 and 2336 for SM; 8.51, 3.61, 3354 and 3265 for GC; 17.11, 3.14, 1948 and 1788 and for WB; and 12.01, 4.09, 3072 and 2948 for M. The differences found in chemical and energy composition highlight the need for research to revise the nutritional values of feed.

RESUMO: Este estudo foi realizado para determinar a relação ideal de treonina:lisina digestíveis em rações com baixo nível de proteína bruta para galinhas poedeiras leves de 24 a 40 semanas de idade. Utilizaram-se 240 poedeiras Hy Line W-36 distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com cinco relações treonina:lisina digestíveis (60; 67; 74; 81 e 88%), oito repetições e seis aves por unidade experimental. As relações treonina:lisina digestíveis não influenciaram o consumo de ração e de lisina; peso médio dos ovos e seus componentes; ganho de peso e peso corporal final das aves, mas houve efeito linear para o consumo de treonina. O modelo Linear Response Plateau (LRP) foi o que melhor representou a distribuição dos dados para taxa de postura; massa de ovos; eficiência de utilização da lisina por massa; conversão alimentar por massa e por dúzia de ovos; e balanço de nitrogênio. Os platôs ocorrem nos níveis de treonina de 0.61; 0.580; 0.614; 0.599; 0.599 e 0.643%, que corresponde às relações treonina:lisina digestíveis de 80; 75; 80; 78; 78 e 83%, respectivamente. A relação ideal de treonina:lisina digestíveis em rações para galinhas poedeiras leves de 24 a 40 semanas de idade é de 80%.

ABSTRACT: This trial was performed to determine the dietary digestible threonine-to-lysine (dig. Thr-to-Lys) ideal ratio for laying hens fed with low-protein diets from 24 to 40 weeks of age. At 24 weeks of age, two hundred forty Hy Line W-36 laying hens were randomly assigned to five treatments, represented by five dig Thr-to-Lys ratios (60; 67; 74; 81 and 88%), with eight replicates each one with six hens per experimental unit. Digestible Thr-to-Lys did not affect laying hen performance and egg quality, except for digestible Threonine intake, which showed linear increase as dig. Thr-to-Lys ratios increased. Linear broken-line model was chosen to analyze data according to lack of fit. According to linear broken-linen estimates, digestible Threonine ideal levels for optimum egg production, egg mass, feed efficiency of lysine utilization for egg mass, feed conversion per egg mass and dozens of eggs and nitrogen balance were 0.610; 0.580; 0.614; 0.599; 0.599 and 0.643%, which correspond respectively to dig Thr-to-Lys ratios of 80; 75; 80; 78; 78 and 83%. The digestible threonine-to-lysine ideal ratio for laying hens from 24 to 40 weeks of age is 80%.

RESUMO Este estudo foi realizado para determinar a relação ideal de treonina:lisina digestíveis para poedeiras leves no período de 42 a 58 semanas de idade. Foram utilizadas 240 poedeiras Hy Line W-36 com 42 semanas de idade durante 16 semanas. Os tratamentos foram distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com oito repetições e seis aves por unidade experimental. As dietas experimentais foram formuladas com cinco níveis de treonina digestível (0,461; 0,515; 0,569; 0,622 e 0,676%) proporcionando as cinco relações treonina:lisina digestíveis (60; 67; 74; 81 e 88%) estudadas. As variáveis analisadas foram: produção de ovos; consumo de ração, de lisina e de treonina; massa e peso médio dos ovos; eficiências de utilização da lisina por massa e ovos produzidos; conversões alimentares por massa e dúzia de ovos; pesos médios de: gema, albúmen e de casca; ganho de peso; peso corporal final das aves; e balanço de nitrogênio. As relações treonina:lisina digestíveis na dieta não influenciaram as variáveis analisadas, exceto o consumo de treonina que apresentou efeito linear. A relação ideal de treonina:lisina digestíveis na dieta para galinhas poedeiras leves de 42 a 58 semanas de idade é de 60%, que corresponde ao nível de 0,461% de treonina digestível na dieta e ao consumo diário de treonina digestível de 446mg/ave.

SUMMARY This study was conducted to determine the ideal ratio of digestible threonine: lysine in diets for laying hens at 42 to 58 weeks of age. Two hundred forty Hy Line W-36 laying hens were used at 42 weeks of age for 16 weeks. The treatments were distributed in a completely randomized design with eight replicates and six birds each. The experimental diets were formulated with five levels of digestible threonine (0.461; 0.515; 0.569; 0.622 and 0.676%) providing the five ratio of digestible threonine: lysine (60; 67; 74; 81 and 88%) studied. The variables analyzed were: egg production; feed intake; lysine intake; threonine intake; mass egg; average egg weight; lysine use efficiencies by mass and produced eggs; feed conversion per mass and dozen eggs; Average weights yolk, albumen and shell; weight gain and final body weights of birds; and nitrogen balance. The digestible threonine: lysine ratio in the diet did not influence the analyzed variables except consumption of threonine which showed a linear effect. The ideal ratio of digestible threonine: lysine in diets for white laying hens at 42 to 58 weeks of age is 60%, which corresponds to the level of 0.461% of digestible threonine in the diet and daily intake of digestible threonine 446mg/bird.

Resumo Para determinar a relação ideal triptofano digestível:lisina digestível em dietas para poedeiras de 42 a 58 semanas de idade, 240 poedeiras Hy-Line W-36 com 42 semanas de idade foram distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso com cinco tratamentos, oito repetições e seis aves por unidade experimental. Com 42 semanas de idade as aves foram submetidas aos tratamentos experimentais, que consistiram de dietas com quantidades iguais de nutrientes, exceto para o nível de triptofano digestível. Os níveis de triptofano digestível nas dietas experimentais foram 0,149; 0,160; 0,171; 0,182 e 0.193%, gerando relações triptofano digestível:lisina digestível de 21,5; 23,1; 24,6; 26,2 e 27,8%. O nível de lisina digestível nas dietas foi sub-ótimo (0,694%). As mesmas relações entre a lisina e outros aminoácidos foram mantidas em todas as dietas experimentais. A relação ideal triptofano digestpivel:lisina digestível foi estimada por meio dos parâmetros estudados utilizando análise de variância e análise de regressão polinomial (α = 0.05). A relação triptofano digestível:lisina digestível nas dietas influenciaram quadraticamente a produção de ovos, massa de ovos, conversão alimentar e a eficiência de utilização de lisina digestível para massa de ovos. No entanto, não houve efeito (P> 0,05) sobre o peso dos ovos, conversão alimentar por dúzia de ovos, eficiência de utilização de lisina digestível para número de ovos produzidos, porcentagem dos componentes dos ovos e ganho de peso. A relação ideal triptofano digestível:lisina digestível estimada para esses parâmetros variaram de 23,6 a 24,3%. A relação triptofano digestível:lisina digestível recomendada em dietas para poedeiras de 42 a 58 semanas de idade é 24,3%.

SUMMARY To determine the ideal digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratio in diets for laying hens of 42 to 58 weeks of age, 240 Hy-Line W-36 hens at 42 weeks of age were distributed in a completely randomized design with five treatments, eight replicates and six birds per experimental unit. At 42 weeks of age, the birds were subjected to experimental treatments that consisted of diets with equal amounts of nutrients, except for the digestible tryptophan level. The digestible tryptophan levels in the experimental diets were 0.149, 0.160, 0.171, 0.182 and 0.193%, generating digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratios of 21.5, 23.1, 24.6, 26.2 and 27.8%. The digestible lysine level in the diets was sub-optimal (0.694%). The same ratios between lysine and the other amino acids were maintained in all experimental diets. The ideal digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratio was estimated through the studied parameters using analysis of variance and polynomial regression analysis (α = 0.05). The digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratio in diets quadratically affected egg production, egg mass, feed conversion per egg mass and use efficiency of digestible lysine for egg mass. However, there were no effect (P>0.05) on egg weight, feed conversion per dozen eggs, use efficiency of digestible lysine for number of eggs produced, percentage of egg components and weight gain. The digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratio estimated for theses parameters ranged from 23.6 to 24.3%. The digestible tryptophan-to-digestible lysine ratio recommended in diets for laying hens of 42 to 58 weeks of age is 24.3%.

Resumo Objetivou-se determinar a exigência nutricional de cálcio e a melhor relação cálcio:fósforo em rações para poedeiras leves de 24 a 40 semanas de idade. Foram utilizadas 324 aves Hy-Line W-36, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, esquema fatorial 3x3, sendo três níveis de cálcio (3,9; 4,2 e 4,5 %) e três relações cálcio/fósforo (9,3; 10,53 e 12,12/1), totalizando nove tratamentos, seis repetições e seis aves por unidade experimental. Avaliou-se o desempenho produtivo, a qualidade do ovo, as características ósseas, o balanço de cálcio e fósforo e a mortalidade. Não houve interação (P>0,05) entre os níveis de cálcio e as relações cálcio/fósforo para nenhuma das variáveis, porém os níveis de cálcio promoveram efeito (P<0,05) sobre o peso e porcentagem da casca, cálcio na casca, ovos perdidos, consumo de cálcio e fósforo, cálcio e fósforo na excreta, cálcio e fósforo retido. A relação cálcio/fósforo influenciou significativamente (P<0,05) o consumo de ração, ganho de peso, conversão alimentar, consumo de cálcio e fósforo, fósforo na excreta e fósforo retido. Rações contendo 4,5% de cálcio e relação cálcio:fósforo de 12,12:1, correspondendo ao consumo de cálcio de 3,71 g/ave/dia e de fósforo de 306 mg/ave/dia, garantem desempenho satisfatório em rações para poedeiras leves no período de 24 a 40 semanas.

Abstract The objective of this study was to determine the nutritional requirement for calcium and the best calcium:phosphorus ratio in the diet for laying hens from 24 to 40 weeks of age. 324 Hy-Line W-36 birds were distributed in a completely randomized design in 3x3 factorial scheme, consisting of three levels of calcium (3.9, 4.2, and 4.5%) and three calcium:phosphorus ratios (9.3, 10.53, and 12.12:1) totaling nine treatments, six replicates and six birds each. We evaluated performance, egg quality, bone characteristics, balance of calcium and phosphorus, and mortality. There was no interaction (P> 0.05) between calcium levels and calcium:phosphorus ratio for the variables, but levels of calcium affected (P <0.05) weight and shell percentage, calcium in the shell, lost eggs, consumption of calcium and phosphorus, calcium and phosphorus excretion, and retained calcium and phosphorus. The calcium:phosphorus ratio affected significantly (P <0.05) feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion per dozen eggs, egg mass, calcium and phosphorus intake, phosphorus excretion, and retained phosphorus. Diets containing 4.5% calcium and the calcium:phosphorus ratio of 12,12:1, corresponding to a calcium intake of 3.71 g/hen/day and phosphorus of 306 mg/bird /day, guarantee satisfactory performance in diets for laying hens from 24 to 40 weeks.
