Resumo O aleitamento materno (AM) é um direito humano e deve ser iniciado desde o nascimento. A adequação das estratégias da Rede Cegonha (RC) pode contribuir na promoção do AM. O objetivo foi identificar os fatores associados ao AM na primeira e nas 24 horas de nascidos vivos a termo em maternidades vinculadas à RC. Estudo transversal com dados do segundo ciclo avaliativo 2016-2017 da RC, que abrangeu todo o Brasil. Foram obtidas razões de chance por meio de regressão logística binária segundo modelo hierarquizado, com intervalos de confiança a 95% e p-valor < 0,01. A prevalência de AM na primeira hora foi de 31%, e nas 24 horas, de 96,6%. Aumentaram as chances de AM na primeira hora: presença de acompanhante na internação, contato pele a pele, parto vaginal, assistência ao parto por enfermeira e acreditação da unidade na Iniciativa Hospital Amigo da Criança. Resultados semelhantes nas 24 horas, e associação com idade materna inferior a 20 anos. O AM na primeira hora foi menos satisfatório do que nas 24h, provavelmente pela elevada prevalência de cesariana, fator associado à menor chance de AM precoce. A capacitação dos profissionais sobre AM de forma contínua e a presença de enfermeiro obstetra no parto são recomendadas para ampliar o AM na primeira hora.

Abstract Breastfeeding (BF) is a human right, and it must start from birth. The adequacy of Rede Cegonha (RC) strategies can contribute to the promotion of BF. The objective was to identify factors associated with BF in the first and 24 hours of live births at full-term maternity hospitals linked to CR. Cross-sectional study with data from the second evaluation cycle 2016-2017 of the RC that covered all of Brazil. Odds ratios were obtained through binary logistic regression according to a hierarchical model, with 95% confidence intervals and p-value < 0.01. The prevalence of BF in the first hour was 31% and in the 24 hours 96.6%. The chances of BF in the first hour increased: presence of a companion during hospitalization, skin-to-skin contact, vaginal delivery, delivery assistance by a nurse and accreditation of the unit in the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Similar results at 24 hours, and association with maternal age below 20 years. BF in the first hour was less satisfactory than in the 24 hours, probably due to the high prevalence of cesarean sections, a factor associated with a lower chance of early BF. Continuous training of professionals about BF and the presence of an obstetric nurse during childbirth are recommended to expand BF in the first hour.

Abstract The Reflejos de Mar Li-pegmatite, located in northwestern Argentina, is part of the Villismán pegmatite group, Ancasti District, Pampean Pegmatite Province. Four garnet crystals from the outermost part of the pegmatite were analyzed by major and minor elements (SiO 2 , TiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , Cr 2 O 3 , MgO, CaO, MnO, FeO) using electron microprobe. The pegmatite belongs to the rare-element class, spodumene type, LCT (Li-Cs-Ta) petrogenetic family. Based on their Mn and Fe contents, the analyzed garnet can be assigned to the spessartine-almandine serie. The cores and rims of the analyzed garnets show significant differences for the divalent components in VIII-coordination, especially, Mn and Fe. The average MnO and FeO contents in the cores of the grains is 34.6 and 8.29 wt%, respectively, while in the rims is 29.31 and 12.95 wt%, respectively. The Fe/Mn ratio at the core of the grains is 0.24 while at the rims it is 0.44. Cr 2 O 3 and TiO 2 contents are very low (˂0.17 wt%) and the values of SiO 2 and Al 2 O 3 are ~36 and ~21 wt%, respectively. The mean chemical and molecular formulas of the core can be expressed: [(Mn 2.40 Fe 0.57 Ca 0.02 Mg 0.02 ) 3.01 (Al 1.99 Cr 0.002 ) 2.00 (Si 2.99 Ti 0.01 ) 3.00 O 12 ]; {Sps 79.8 Alm 18.9 Grs 0.7 Prp 0.5 }; and the rim as: [(Mn 2.04 Fe 0.89 Ca 0.05 Mg 0.04 ) 3.02 (Al 2.00 Cr 0.002 ) 2.00 (Si 2.98 Ti 0.005 ) 3.00 O 12 ]; {Sps 67.6 Alm 29.5 Grs 1.6 Prp 1.3 }. The chemical composition of garnet from the Reflejos de Mar pegmatite is similar to other worldwide examples in similar rocks, especially LCT pegmatites, which are highly evolved and associated with Li mineralization. Therefore, its composition could be used as an additional tool in the exploration of Li-bearing pegmatites in the Pampean Pegmatite Province. The differences in Fe-Mn contents between core and rim of the crystals would be controlled by variations in composition of the pegmatitic melt and, in addition, by the simultaneous precipitation of other mineral phases, for example, schorl and Mn-Fe-bearing phosphates.

Resumen Composición del granate de la pegmatita LCT Reflejos de Mar, distrito Ancasti, Argentina, y su implicancia en la exploración de depósitos primarios de litio. La pegmatita Reflejos de Mar, ubicada en el distrito Ancasti de la Provincia Pegmatítica Pampeana (PPP), en el noroeste de Argentina, pertenece a la familia LCT (Li-Cs-Ta). Mediante microsonda electrónica, se determinaron los contenidos de elementos mayores y minoritarios (SiO 2 , TiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , Cr 2 O 3 , MgO, CaO, MnO, FeO) del centro y borde de cuatro cristales de granates provenientes de una muestra extraída de la zona más externa de la pegmatita. De acuerdo con sus contenidos de Mn y Fe, los granates son asignados a la serie espesartina-almandino. Los centros y los bordes de los cristales analizados tienen similares valores de SiO 2 y Al 2 O 3 , ~36 y ~21%, respectivamente, mientras que los contenidos de Cr 2 O 3 y TiO 2 son muy bajos (˂0,17%). El mayor contraste entre el borde y centro de los cristales lo presentan los componentes divalentes en coordinación VIII, especialmente Mn y Fe. Los contenidos promedio de MnO y FeO en los centros de los granos son de 34,6 y 8,29% peso, respectivamente, mientras que en los bordes son 29,31 y 12,95% peso, respectivamente. La relación Fe/Mn en el centro de los granos es 0,24, mientras que en los bordes es de 0,44. La fórmula química del centro de los granates analizados puede ser expresada como [(Mn 2,40 Fe 0,57 Ca 0,02 Mg 0,02 ) 3,01 (Al 1,99 Cr 0,002 ) 2,00 (Si 2,99 Ti 0,01 ) 3,00 O 12 ] y la fórmula molecular como {Sps 79,8 Alm 18,9 Grs 0,7 Prp 0,5 }. A su vez, la fórmula química de los bordes es [(Mn 2,04 Fe 0,89 Ca 0,05 Mg 0,04 ) 3,02 (Al 2,00 Cr 0,002 ) 2,00 (Si 2,98 Ti 0,005 ) 3,00 O 12 ] y la fórmula molecular es {Sps 67,6 Alm 29,5 Grs 1,6 Prp 1,3 }. La composición química obtenida para el granate de la pegmatita Reflejos de Mar es similar a la de otros ejemplos en el mundo en rocas similares, especialmente de pegmatitas LCT altamente evolucionadas asociadas con mineralización de litio. Esto nos permite sugerir que la composición del granate en las pegmatitas puede ser utilizado como una herramienta adicional, en la exploración de pegmatitas mineralizadas con Li en la PPP. Las diferencias composicionales de Mn y Fe entre el centro y el borde de los cristales podrían estar vinculadas a variaciones en la composición del magma pegmatítico y, adicionalmente, por la cristalización simultánea de otras fases minerales, tales como chorlita y fosfatos portadores de Mn y Fe.

ABSTRACT Objective: The occurrence of partial remission (honeymoon phase) in type 1 diabetes (T1D) has been associated with a reduced risk of chronic microvascular complications of diabetes. We have published case reports showing that a combination therapy with the DPP-4 inhibitor sitagliptin plus vitamin D3 (VIDPP-4i) can prolong the honeymoon phase in patients with new-onset T1D. In the present case-control study, we investigated the frequency of occurrence of clinical remission (CR) in patients with new-onset T1D after VIDPP-4i treatment. Subjects and methods: In this case-control study, we collected data spanning 10 years from medical records of 46 patients (23 females) recently diagnosed with T1D. Overall, 27 participants with CR (insulin dose-adjusted glycated hemoglobin [IDAA1c] ≤ 9) at 12 or 24 months composed the case group, and 19 participants without CR served as the control group. Chi-square with Yates correction was used to analyze the association between VIDPP-4i use and CR, and odds ratio (OR) was used to determine the chance of CR due to VIDPP-4i treatment exposure. Results: In all, 37 patients (80.4%) experienced CR at some time over 24 months. The mean CR duration was 13.15 ± 9.91 months. Treatment with VIDPP-4i was significantly associated with CR. At 24 months, the OR of CR after VIDPP-4i exposure was 9.0 (95% confidence interval [CI] 2.21-30.18, p = 0.0036). Additionally, 9 (33.6%) and 4 (14.8%) patients in the VIDPP-4i group experienced insulin-free CR at 12 and 24 months, respectively. Conclusion: Therapy with VIDPP-4i was associated with a higher frequency and duration of the honeymoon phase. Randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe the cluster of lifestyle behaviors among Brazilian adolescents and to identify the association of these clusters with overweight. Information related to food consumption, TV time and physical activity were used, from a sample of 14141 adolescents of both sexes, aged between 11 and 17 years, from the National School Health Survey (2015), who were split into three classes: physically active (FA), risky behavior (CR), and physically inactive with healthy eating (AI). Results showed that girls and older adolescents have less chances to be overweight when compared to boys and younger adolescents, respectively. Moreover, subjects classified as CR have less chances of being overweight, whereas those classified as AI are more prone to be overweight compared to those belonging to FA class. We conclude that the adoption of healthy habits seems to be of relevance in the expression of overweight, because although the high prevalence of "unhealthy" diet among subjects from the CR class, their physical activity levels are similar to their peers from the FA class, which may mitigate the impacts unhealthy behaviors associated with food consumption.

RESUMO Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever a agregação de comportamentos de estilo de vida em adolescentes brasileiros e identificar a associação dessas agregações com o excesso de peso. Informações sobre consumo alimentar, tempo em frente à televisão e prática de atividade física de uma amostra composta por 14141 adolescentes, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 11 e 17 anos, da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde do Escolar (2015), que foram divididos em três classes: fisicamente ativo (AF), comportamento de risco (CR) e fisicamente inativo com alimentação saudável (IA). Os resultados mostraram que meninas e adolescentes mais velhos são menos propensos a desenvolver excesso de peso em comparação com crianças e adolescentes mais novos, assim como os sujeitos pertencentes à classe CR, que são menos propensos ao excesso de peso, enquanto os adolescentes da classe IA são mais propensos em relação aos AF. Pode-se concluir que a adoção de hábitos saudáveis parece ter influência importante no resultado do excesso de peso, pois, no entanto, a adoção de dietas “não saudáveis” é prevalente na classe CR, os níveis de atividade física são semelhantes aos da classe AF, o que pode atenuar os efeitos de comportamentos negativos relacionados à alimentação.

RESUMEN Este estudio tuvo como objetivo describir la agregación de comportamientos del estilo de vida en adolescentes brasileños e identificar la asociación de estas agregaciones con el exceso de peso. Se ha utilizado información sobre el consumo alimentario, tiempo frente a la televisión y práctica de actividad física de una muestra compuesta por 14141 adolescentes, de ambos sexos, con edades entre 11 y 17 años, procedente de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud del Escolar (2015), que fueron divididos en tres clases: físicamente activos (FA), comportamiento de riesgo (CR) e inactivos físicamente con alimentación saludable (IA). Los resultados mostraron que las niñas y adolescentes mayores tienen menos probabilidades de desarrollar exceso de peso en comparación con los niños y adolescentes más jóvenes, así como los sujetos pertenecientes a la clase CR, que tienen menos probabilidades de presentar exceso de peso, mientras que los adolescentes de clase IA tienen más probabilidades en comparación con la FA. Se puede concluir que la adopción de hábitos saludables parece ejercer una influencia importante en cuanto al resultado de sobrepeso, ya que, no obstante, la adopción de alimentación "no saludable" es prevalente en la clase CR, los niveles de actividad física se asemejan a la clase FA, que puede mitigar los efectos de los comportamientos negativos relacionados con la alimentación.

Abstract Solar thermal energy is one of the ways of using solar radiation that can be applied to meet the energy needs for heating. To achieve efficient photothermal conversion, selective surfaces are applied to solar collectors to absorb more radiation and minimize heat loss. The present work produced absorber surfaces from black chromium electrodeposition on stainless steel substrate, the main parameter evaluated was the deposition time and its effect on optical and morphological properties. In this sense, the techniques of characterization UV-Vis-NIR Spectroscopy, Infrared Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, Optical Profilometry and Thermogravimetric analysis were used. It was observed a great influence of the electrodeposition time in the absorptance of the films, where films with deposition times of 2 to 10 minutes obtained absorptances greater than 92%. The metallic Cr phase was identified in the films, and it is estimated that chromium oxides may have been formed in the amorphous form. With increasing time, the roughness oscillated due to the constant nucleation of chromium throughout the process. Furthermore, a 5% mass loss indicates good thermal stability of the film up to 400 °C.

Resumo A descontaminação do sistema do canal radicular (CR) é essencial para o sucesso da terapia endodôntica. Neste estudo in vitro, foi avaliado o potencial de desinfecção de um dispositivo de eletrofulguração, o Endox® Endodontic System (EES), em CR infectado com Enterococcus faecalis. Sessenta e cinco pré-molares inferiores humanos foram instrumentados com o sistema MTwo®. As amostras foram distribuídas em seis grupos experimentais (n = 10), de acordo com o protocolo de irrigação: clorexidina gel a 2% (CHX); CHX + EES; Hipoclorito de sódio 5,25% (NaOCl); NaOCl + EES; solução salina (SS); e SS + EES. Cinco amostras não foram tratadas (controle). As amostras de CR foram coletadas antes (C1) e após o tratamento com EES (C2), após preparo químico-mecânico (PQM) (C3) e após o tratamento final com EES (C4). Todas as amostras foram plaqueadas para unidades formadoras de colônias (CFU / mL) em meio sólido. Os dados foram analisados pelos testes de Wilcoxon e Friedman para comparações intragrupos e pelo teste de Kruskal Wallis, seguidos pelo teste de Dunn para comparações intergrupos (α = 0,05). O tratamento com o EES não reduziu significativamente o número de CFU / mL em comparação com os níveis basais (C1 vs. C2, p> 0,05). Após PQM (C3), todos os grupos apresentaram uma quantidade significativamente reduzida de CFU / mL (p <0,05), sem diferença entre as amostras tratadas com CHX e NaOCl (p> 0,05). Por fim, o tratamento com o EES após PQM (C4) não reduziu significativamente a quantidade de CFU / mL (C3 vs. C4, p> 0,05). Concluindo, o uso do Endox® Endodontic System não resultou em redução bacteriana considerável em todos os momentos operatórios, enquanto os tratamentos com NaOCl e CHX foram igualmente eficientes para esse fim.

Abstract Decontamination of the root canal (RC) system is essential for successful endodontic therapy. In this in vitro study, it was evaluated the disinfection potential of an electrofulguration device, the Endox® Endodontic System (EES), in RC infected with Enterococcus faecalis. Sixty-five human lower premolars were instrumented with MTwo® system. The specimens were distributed into six experimental groups (n = 10), according to the irrigation protocol: 2% chlorhexidine gel (CHX); CHX + EES; 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl); NaOCl + EES; saline solution (SS); and SS + EES. Five specimens were untreated (control). RC samples were collected before (C1) and after EES treatment (C2), after chemo-mechanical preparation (CMP) (C3), and after final EES treatment (C4). All samples were plated for colony forming units (CFU/mL) onto solid media. The data were analyzed by Wilcoxon and Friedman tests for intragroup comparisons and by Kruskal Wallis test followed by Dunn’s test for intergroup comparisons (α = 0.05). Treatment with the EES did not significantly reduce the number of CFU/mL as compared to baseline levels (C1 vs. C2, p> 0.05). After CMP (C3), all groups showed a significantly reduced amount of CFU/mL (p <0.05), with no difference between CHX- and NaOCl-treated samples (p >0.05). Lastly, treatment with the EES following CMP (C4) did not significantly reduce the amount of CFU/mL (C3 vs. C4, p> 0.05). To conclude, the use of the Endox® Endodontic System did not result in considerable bacterial reduction at all operative times, while treatment with NaOCl and CHX was equally efficient for this purpose.

RESUMO: O aumento na deposição de gordura e da conversão alimentar durante a fase de terminação são fatores que implicam diretamente na qualidade da carne e também na rentabilidade da cadeia produtiva. Apesar disso, o abate tardio dos suínos pode resultar em benefícios para o frigorífico, pela redução dos custos operacionais por suíno abatido e melhor utilização dos equipamentos, bem como vantagens econômicas para o produtor resultantes da diluição dos custos de produção. Portanto, a suplementação de cromo na ração de suínos de linhagens com maior potencial para deposição de músculo, é uma estratégia para aumentar a deposição de tecido magro e minimizar a deposição de gordura, refletindo positivamente no desempenho. Em vista disso, objetivou-se com este trabalho, apresentar e discutir os mecanismos de ação, finalidades e resultados recentes de estudos na literatura sobre a suplementação desse modificador de carcaça na ração de suínos em terminação. O principal papel do cromo é potencializar a ação da insulina, facilitando a ligação entre a insulina e os seus receptores na membrana celular. Com isso, as células sensíveis à insulina captam maior quantidade de glicose, que posteriormente serão convertidas em energia. Essa energia adicional pode ser utilizada para aumentar a síntese proteica, aumentando assim, a quantidade de carne magra e reduzindo o teor de gordura na carcaça, sem alterar o consumo de proteína pelos animais. O cromo também diminui a taxa de oxidação lipídica, mantendo a qualidade da carne por mais tempo. Em conclusão, a suplementação dietética de Cr para suínos em terminação mostra que 0,2 mg/kg de fontes orgânicas de Cr para suínos de ~ 60 kg até o abate podem melhorar o desempenho, ganho de massa magra e reduzir o teor de gordura na carcaça. No entanto, o desenvolvimento da nanotecnologia tem permitido o uso de fonte inorgânica de Cr na dose de 0,2 mg/kg de inclusão, melhorando o desempenho e as características de carcaça de suínos em terminação.

ABSTRACT: Increasing fat deposition and feed conversion ratio over the days in finishing phase directly influence pork quality and productive profitability. Nonetheless, the slaughter of heavier pigs can result in benefits for the slaughterhouse due to dilution of production and processing costs, as well as economic benefits for the pig producer resulting from the dilution of production costs. Therefore, dietary supplementation of chromium for finishing pigs of high lean-genotypes is a strategy to increase lean tissue accretion and minimize fat deposition, reflecting positively on growth performance. This review discussed recent studies results and mechanisms of action of this modifier of performance and carcass a traits in finishing pigs. Chromium increases the insulin action, facilitating insulin binding to the receptors on cell membrane. As a result, insulin-sensitive cells uptake more glucose, which will be later converted into energy. This additional energy is use to increase protein synthesis, thereby increasing the amount of lean tissue and reducing fat content in the carcass, without altering protein intake by pigs. Chromium also reduces lipid oxidation rate maintaining meat quality for longer period. In conclusion, dietary Cr supplementation for finishing pigs have shown that 0.2 mg/kg of organic Cr sources for pigs from ~60 kg until the slaughter can improve growth performance, lean gain and reduce fat content in carcass. However, the development of nanotechnology has allowed the use of inorganic Cr source at 0.2 mg/kg of inclusion, leading to improve the growth performance and carcass traits of finishing pigs.

RESUMO Objetivo: Comparar o coping religioso (CR) entre pacientes portadores de DPOC e indivíduos saudáveis e investigar associações entre CR e características demográficas, qualidade de vida, depressão e gravidade da doença nesses pacientes. Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado entre 2014 e 2016 com pacientes ambulatoriais com DPOC moderada a grave de dois hospitais em Fortaleza (CE) e controles saudáveis pareados por sexo e idade. A escala Brief RCOPE avaliou a CR de todos os participantes. O grupo DPOC também foi avaliado quanto a sintomas, qualidade de vida e depressão e foi submetido a espirometria e teste de caminhada de seis minutos (TC6). Resultados: Foram avaliados 100 pacientes, com média de idade de 67,3 ± 6,8 anos (54% homens). A média dos escores de CR positivo no grupo DPOC foi significativamente maior que a de CR negativo (27,17 ± 1,60 vs. 8,21 ± 2,12; p = 0,001). A média dos escores de CR positivo foi significativamente maior nas mulheres que nos homens (27,5 ± 1,1 vs. 26,8 ± 2,8; p = 0,02). O grupo DPOC apresentou escores de CR negativo significativamente maiores que os controles (p = 0,01). O CR negativo apresentou uma associação inversa com a distância percorrida no TC6 (DTC6; r = −0,3; p < 0,05) e uma associação direta com sintomas depressivos (r = 0,2; p < 0,03). O CR positivo não apresentou correlações com nenhuma variável estudada. A análise de regressão múltipla mostrou que CR negativo associou-se com DTC6 (coeficiente = −0,009; IC95%: −0,01 a −0,003). A DTC6 explicou linearmente a variação do CR negativo. Conclusões: Pacientes com DPOC utilizam CR negativo mais frequentemente que indivíduos saudáveis. A capacidade de exercício e sintomas depressivos estão associados a CR negativo.

ABSTRACT Objective: To compare religious coping (RC) in patients with COPD and healthy individuals, as well as to determine whether RC is associated with demographic characteristics, quality of life, depression, and disease severity in the patients with COPD. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted between 2014 and 2016, involving outpatients with moderate to severe COPD seen at one of two hospitals in Fortaleza, Brazil, as well as gender- and age-matched healthy controls. The Brief RCOPE scale assessed RC in all of the participants. We also evaluated the COPD group patients regarding symptoms, quality of life, and depression, as well as submitting them to spirometry and a six-minute walk test. Results: A total of 100 patients were evaluated. The mean age was 67.3 ± 6.8 years, and 54% were men. In the COPD group, the mean positive RC score was significantly higher than was the mean negative RC score (27.17 ± 1.60 vs. 8.21 ± 2.12; p = 0.001). The mean positive RC score was significantly higher in women than in men (27.5 ± 1.1 vs. 26.8 ± 2.8; p = 0.02). Negative RC scores were significantly higher in the COPD group than in the control group (p = 0.01). Negative RC showed an inverse association with six-minute walk distance (6MWD; r = −0.3; p < 0.05) and a direct association with depressive symptoms (r = 0.2; p < 0.03). Positive RC correlated with none of the variables studied. Multiple regression analysis showed that negative RC was associated with 6MWD (coefficient = −0.009; 95% CI: −0.01 to −0.003). 6MWD explained the variance in negative RC in a linear fashion. Conclusions: Patients with COPD employ negative RC more often than do healthy individuals. Exercise capacity and depressive symptoms are associated with negative RC.

RESUMO Introdução A Relação Clínica (RC) é um termo mais abrangente do que relação médico-paciente e, atualmente, tem sido utilizado para descrever o contato da equipe de saúde com o paciente e seus familiares, além da interação da equipe entre si. Para estabelecer relações interpessoais satisfatórias, é importante reunir habilidades de comunicação e empatia, que têm um papel-chave na RC. No entanto, tais temas acabam sendo pouco discutidos durante a formação médica, em detrimento de um estudo mais focado em doenças e tratamentos. Rígidos protocolos e diretrizes têm tomado grande espaço dos currículos de graduação médica, deixando menos tempo para a discussão de temas mais abstratos, relacionados às humanidades e à subjetividade dos pacientes, visão que faz parte da realidade das pessoas. Objetivos Propiciar espaços e referenciais teóricos para a discussão de temas menos abordados no currículo médico e incentivar a importância da comunicação e empatia nos processos de saúde/doença. Métodos Diante da importância de proporcionar aos alunos de Medicina vivências humanizadoras, propusemos a realização de oficinas teórico-práticas e conduzimos uma pesquisa qualitativa com o intuito de avaliar a percepção dos estudantes sobre o ensino-aprendizagem de temas do escopo da RC. Ao todo, participaram do projeto 33 alunos a partir do quarto semestre do curso de Medicina, por adesão voluntária, após convite distribuído via correio eletrônico. Foram ofertadas seis oficinas teórico-práticas, executadas em um trabalho com grupos pequenos e abordando temas como: empatia, luto, cuidados paliativos, final de vida e comunicação de notícias difíceis. As técnicas para coleta dos dados foram a realização de dois grupos focais ao final dos seis encontros e a observação participante, cujos apontamentos eram tomados num diário de campo. Resultados A análise de conteúdo (Bardin, 2011) foi o método escolhido para estudo dos resultados, após transcritas e analisadas as falas dos grupos. No final da análise, emergiram quatro categorias principais (e cinco subcategorias), das quais destacamos duas que serão discutidas neste artigo: “A arte, o cinema e a literatura evocam os sentimentos: buscando o humanismo” e “As notícias difíceis na visão dos pacientes – as experiências vivas”. Para isso, foram utilizadas metodologias ativas, como trabalho em pequenos grupos, uso de vídeos e trechos de filmes, músicas, relatos, leitura de textos e rodas de conversas. Conclusão Os depoimentos dos participantes demonstraram satisfação com as temáticas e metodologias propostas. Dessa forma, analisamos o auxílio de tais técnicas para sensibilizar os alunos, levando-os a refletir sobre a importância da empatia e da comunicação no atuar dos médicos e equipe de saúde, desenvolvendo habilidades de relação interpessoal.

ABSTRACT Introduction Clinical Relationship (CR) is a more comprehensive term than doctor-patient relationship and is currently used to describe the health team’s contact with the patient and their families, as well as the team’s interaction with each other. To establish satisfactory interpersonal relationships, it is important to bring together communication and empathy skills that play a key role in building the CR. However, such topics are given little attention during medical training, with a more focused study on diseases and treatments. Rigid protocols and guidelines have accounted for a large proportion of undergraduate medical curricula, leaving less time for discussion of more abstract subjects related to the humanities and the subjectivity of patients, a view that is part of people’s reality. Objectives To provide spaces and theoretical references for the discussion of topics less addressed in the medical curriculum and to encourage the importance of communication and empathy in health/disease processes. Methods In view of the importance of providing medical students with humanizing experiences, we have proposed theoretical-practical workshops and conducted a qualitative research in order to evaluate the students’ views on learning about CR themes. In total, 33 second-year medical students participated in the project, by voluntary adhesion in response to an invitation distributed via electronic mail. Six theoretical-practical workshops were offered and executed in small groups and addressing topics such as: empathy, mourning, palliative care, end of life and communication of difficult news. The data collection methods were two focus groups conducted at the end of the six meetings encounters and participant observation, the notes from which were taken in a field diary. Results Content analysis (Bardin, 2011) was the method chosen to study the results, following transcription and analysis of the speech of the groups. At the end of the analysis, four main categories (and five subcategories) emerged, of which two are highlighted in this article: “Art, cinema and literature evoke feelings: seeking humanism” and “Difficult news in the view of patients – the living experiences”. To this end, we used active methodologies such as small group work, use of videos and excerpts from films, music, reports, reading texts and conversation wheels. Conclusion The participants’ statements showed satisfaction with the proposed theme and methodologies. We therefore evaluated the use of such techniques to sensitize students, leading them to reflect on the importance of empathy and communication in the work of physicians and health staff, developing interpersonal skills.

Abstract Mangroves are tropical and subtropical flooded forests that generally develop in estuarine areas over unstable sediments protected from the action of waves in the intertidal zone with an environment characterized by a great diversity of fauna and flora. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the levels of heavy metals that are absorbed by mangrove oysters, in estuarine systems in the Alagoas coast by determining the concentrations of Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Cd and Cr. Two areas, which consisted of both a collection during the rainy season and the dry season, were selected for sampling of mangrove oysters. In each collection, seven samples were collected, at seven different points, where each sample contained four oysters. In the laboratory the oysters were dried at 105°C for 72 hours and then macerated. It was then digested with 10 ml of a solution comprising a combination of 4:1 nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, initially in 1h at 40°C, followed by 3 hours at 140°C. In General, the medians followed the order Zn > Fe > Mn > Cu > Cr > Cd in MMELC and Zn > Cu > Fe > Mn > Cr > Cd in Meirim River. It is concluded that the Crassostrea rhizophorae oysters from the studied environments presented concentrations of all the metals proposed in the research and demonstrates its accumulating and bioindicator character.

Stainless steel and nickel alloy have high corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments due to the high Cr content present in their chemical composition, being widely used in components of nuclear reactors, petrochemical industries, etc. Through proper processes and procedures, it becomes possible to join these alloys. However, this union can generate detrimental factors in its performance, among them, the residual stresses. In this work, the residual stresses generated by the autogenous GTAW process, due to different interpass temperatures on the weld bead geometry, were analyzed by the Hole-Drilling technique in dissimilar welding joints of stainless steel AISI 316L and Inconel 718 alloy. In addition, the Vickers microhardness measurements were carried out to evaluate the hardness profile in the cross section of the weld bead covering base metal (BM), heat affect zone (HAZ) and weld metal (WM). We found that in the interface region between BM and HAZ of each dissimilar joint metal, residual stresses increased above 300 MPa, while hardness increased above 160 HV.

Abstract Background: Several studies have focused on the assessment of students' motivation because this construct is very important to understand students' learning and how to enhance it. The Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ-A), based on the self-determination theory is a self-report instrument developed to access the reasons why students do their school work. However, there is no Portuguese version of this questionnaire for late elementary students. The primary goal of this research was to analyze the psychometric properties of a Portuguese version of SRQ-A in the domain of Mathematics with elementary school children. Methods: Participants were 341 elementary school children ranging from 8 to 11 years old from the third and fourth grades. The Portuguese version of the SRQ-A included 24 items assessing four regulatory styles (external, introjected, identified, and intrinsic) in three behavioral categories (homework, classwork, and answering questions in mathematics lessons). To examine the psychometric properties of the instrument, we conducted an exploratory structural equation modeling (ESEM), measured gender and grade invariance, and calculated internal consistency indexes and temporal stability. Results: ESEM analyses supported the original multidimensional structure of the measure with four regulatory styles using a reduced version of the instrument with 16 items. Correlations between the four regulatory styles revealed a simplex pattern consistent with the continuum of self-determination theory. Results showed adequate internal consistency for all regulatory styles (α ≥ .73; CR ≥ .76) and temporal stability (4-month test-retest ≥ .43). The questionnaire showed measurement and structural invariance across gender and grade. Finally, some gender differences were observed; on average, boys scored higher than girls in external regulation. No differences were observed between grades. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that the Portuguese version of the SRQ-A has good psychometric properties providing adequate support for its use in educational research on motivational styles, including studies concerning gender and grade differences in self-regulation.

RESUMO Batata Camila, registrada e protegida como BRS F63, é uma cultivar destinada ao mercado de consumo, com tubérculos ovalados de aparência atrativa, tendo gemas superficiais, película amarela e lisa, e polpa amarelo-clara. Apresenta peso específico médio (massa seca), que permite maior versatilidade na culinária do que a cultivar Agata. Na cocção apresenta textura firme e sabor característico, com potencial para uso inclusive em cozinha gourmet, na preparação de salada e outros pratos afins. O ciclo de desenvolvimento vegetativo e a dormência são médios. Apresenta alto potencial produtivo, com elevada percentagem de tubérculos comerciais. É moderadamente resistente ao esverdeamento. Quanto a desordens fisiológicas nos tubérculos, ‘BRS F63’ (Camila) apresenta incidência similar à ‘Agata’ e ‘Asterix’ nas safras do ecossistema subtropical, porém a incidência aumenta em plantios fora da safra de inverno no ecossistema tropical. É moderadamente suscetível a Phytophthora infestans e a Alternaria spp., que podem ser manejadas eficazmente com fungicidas. Apresenta resistência extrema ao vírus Y (Ry sto ), que reduz a perda de qualidade da semente, permitindo maior número de gerações de multiplicação.

ABSTRACT Camila potato, registered and protected as BRS F63, is a cultivar for the fresh market, with oval tubers of attractive appearance, having shallow eyes, yellow and smooth skin, and light yellow flesh. It presents medium specific gravity (dry matter), which allows greater culinary versatility than ‘Agata’. Cooked tubers have a firm texture and distinctive flavor, with potential for use even in gourmet kitchen, for preparing salads and other similar dishes. The vegetative growth cycle and dormancy are medium. It presents high productive potential, with high percentage of marketable tubers. It is moderately resistant to greening. Concerning physiological disorders in the tubers, ‘BRS F63’ (Camila) is similar to ‘Agata’ and ‘Asterix’ in crops of subtropical ecosystem, but the incidence increases in plantations outside the Winter crop in tropical ecosystem. It is moderately susceptible to Phytophthora infestans and Alternaria spp., which can be managed effectively with fungicides. It has extreme resistance to virus Y (Ry sto ), which reduces the loss of seed quality, allowing more generations of multiplication.

ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to verify the influence of the use of Class II intermaxillary elastics on centric relation (CR) to centric occlusion (CO) occlusal discrepancy. A total of 30 patients had been at the contention stage for at least three months were divided in two groups: G1 - 15 had been submitted to intramaxillary orthodontic mechanics only, and G2 - 15 had used Class II intermaxillary elastics. Distances of horizontal and vertical overlap and the distance or coincidence of the mandibular dental midline in relation to the maxillary midline were measured in CR and CO positions. Intergroup comparisons were performed using the Mann-Whitney test. No statistically significant differences (P>0.05) were found between G1 and G2. Both in the horizontal and vertical directions, these discrepancies were smaller than or equal to 1mm in 96.66 % of the patients. In the transverse plane, there was no discrepancy in 63.33 % of the patients, and in 33.33 % these discrepancies were equal to 0.5 mm. The use of Class II elastic didn't be capable of increasing the occlusal discrepancies between CR and CO.

RESUMEN: El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la influencia del uso de los elásticos intermaxilares Clase II en la discrepancia oclusal entre la relación céntrica (RC) y la oclusión céntrica (OC). Un total de 30 pacientes que permanecieron en la fase de contención durante al menos tres meses se dividieron en dos grupos: G1 - 15 fueron sometidos solamente a la mecánica ortodóncica intramaxilar, y G2 - 15 habían utilizado elásticos de clase II intermaxilar. Se midieron las distancias de traslapo horizontal y vertical y la distancia o coincidencia de la línea mediana dentaria mandibular con respecto a la línea mediana maxilar en las posiciones RC y OC. Las comparaciones entre grupos se realizaron mediante la prueba de Mann-Whitney. No se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas (P> 0.05) entre G1 y G2. Tanto en las direcciones horizontal como vertical, estas discrepancias fueron menores o iguales a 1 mm en el 96,66 % de los pacientes. En el plano transversal, no hubo discrepancia en el 63,33 % de los pacientes, y en un 33,33 % estas discrepancias fueron iguales a 0,5 mm. El uso de la clase II elástica no logró aumentar las discrepancias entre RC y OC.
