Abstract Introduction: In Mexico, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) as an interdisciplinary intervention with therapeutic impact in patients with heart disease is growing. There is the need to know actual conditions of CR in our country. Objectives: The objective of this National Registry is to follow-up those existing and new CR units in Mexico through the comparison between the two previous registries, RENAPREC-2009 and RENAPREC II-2015 studies. This is a descriptive study focused on diverse CR activities such as assistance training, and certification of health professionals, barriers, reference, population attended, interdisciplinarity, permanence over time, growth prospects, regulations, post-pandemic condition, integrative characteristics, and scientific research. Results: Data were collected from 45 CR centers in the 32 states, 75.5% are private practice units, 67% are new, 33% were part of RENAPREC II-2015, and 17 have continued since 2009. With a better distribution of CR units along the territory, the median reference of candidates for CR programs is 9% with a significant reduction into tiempo of enrollment to Phase II admission (19 ± 11 days). Regarding to previous registries, the coverance of Phases I, II, and III is 71%, 100%, and 93%, respectively; and a coverance increases in evaluation, risk stratification, and prescription, more comprehensive attendance and prevention strategies. Conclusions: CR in Mexico has grown in the past 7 years. Even there is still low reference and heterogeneity in specific processes, there are strengths such as interdisciplinarity, scientific professionalization of specialists, national diversification, and an official society that are consolidated over time.

Abstract The gladiolus is one of the most commercially important cut flowers in Mexico. It was traditionally considered a funeral flower, but its uses have now diversified to many other decorative floral arrangements due to its variety of colors and forms. All the new varieties on the market in Mexico are of foreign origin, such that the generation of new genotypes is needed. In a previous study, flowers originating from irradiated Blanca Borrega variety corms expressed different floral characteristics, shape and size; however, it is unknown whether these characters are fixed in subsequent generations. The objective of the current work was therefore to evaluate the fixed characteristics in the ornamental quality of outstanding cultivars of Blanca Borrega variety gladiolus descended from irradiation with60Co. During the fall-winter (2020-2021) period, corms of outstanding cultivars generated by distinct irradiation doses were planted in sterilized substrate to evaluate corm germination (%), plant height, number of leaves per stem, spike length (cm), combined stem and spike length (cm), number of flowers per spike, flower size (cm), number of leaves, and survival, and to categorize cut flower quality under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE) criteria. Our results indicated that the outstanding cultivar derived from the 80 Gy dose presented a Class I classification (Second quality) of the UN/ECE parameters due to its stem height and number of buds, followed by the cultivars descended from irradiation at 10, 30 and 50 Gy and the control, which were placed in Class II (Third quality). Thus, in the third generation the favorable esthetic characteristics of the outstanding cultivars remain fixed.

Resumo O gladíolo é uma das flores de corte mais importantes comercialmente no México. Era tradicionalmente considerada uma flor funerária, mas seus usos agora se diversificaram para muitos outros arranjos florais decorativos devido à sua variedade de cores e formas. Todas as novas variedades no mercado mexicano são de origem estrangeira, de modo que é necessária a geração de novos genótipos. Em estudo anterior, flores provenientes de rebentos irradiados da variedade Blanca Borrega expressaram diferentes características florais, forma e tamanho; no entanto, não se sabe se esses caracteres são corrigidos nas gerações subsequentes. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi, portanto, avaliar as características fixas na qualidade ornamental de cultivares destacadas de gladíolo da variedade Blanca Borrega descendentes da irradiação com 60Co. Durante o período de outono-inverno (2020-2021), rebentos de cultivares excepcionais gerados por diferentes doses de irradiação foram plantados em substrato esterilizado para avaliar a germinação do rebento (%), altura da planta, número de folhas por haste, comprimento do espigão (cm), combinado comprimento do caule e espiga (cm), número de flores por espiga, tamanho da flor (cm), número de folhas e sobrevivência, e para categorizar a qualidade da flor cortada sob os critérios da Comissão Econômica das Nações Unidas para a Europa (UN/ECE). Nossos resultados indicaram que a cultivar de destaque derivada da dose de 80 Gy apresentou classificação Classe I (Segunda qualidade) dos parâmetros UN/ECE devido à altura do caule e número de gemas, seguida pelas cultivares descendentes da irradiação aos 10, 30 e 50 Gy e o controle, que foram colocados na Classe II (Terceira qualidade). Assim, na terceira geração, as características estéticas favoráveis das cultivares de destaque permanecem fixas.

Resumen En Colombia, la agricultura se puede desarrollar en terrenos inclinados que requieren prácticas zonales de conservación de suelos. Para ello, se analiza el área de interés por sus propiedades determinantes, usualmente con muestreo en puntos específicos. Se pueden utilizar técnicas de interpolación como la distancia inversa ponderada (IDW) y de predicción como kriging para la predicción y estimación de valores en lugares no muestreados. El objetivo de este estudio fue comparar las metodologías de IDW y kriging para el modelamiento de la distribución espacial de las características físicas del suelo en la zona agrícola de ladera de la hoya del río Suárez (HDRS).Se utilizaron datos de cinco propiedades físicas del suelo asociadas con la erodabilidad:porcentaje de arenas, diámetro medio ponderado, capacidad de retención de agua disponible, densidad aparente y densidad real, correspondientes a 932 puntos observados sobre la HDRS en una rejilla de 700 x 700 m. Se aplicó validación cruzada para cada variable y se comparó el error de las técnicas evaluadas. Además, se elaboraron mapas de zonificación de la variabilidad espacial, para comparar visualmente ambos procedimientos. La representación gráfica de las predicciones por la IDW y estimaciones por kriging fueron semejantes en todas las características de suelo evaluadas. Sin embargo, el análisis de validación cruzada determinó mejores resultados con kriging. Los mapas de varianzas (kriging) demostraron que la incertidumbre de la estimación era homogénea para la mayor parte de la HDRS. La técnica de kriging resultó ser más precisa que la IDW en la estimación de valores en puntos no muestreados.

Abstract In Colombia, agriculture can be developed on sloping land that requires zonal soil conservation practices. To do this, the area of interest is analyzed for its determining properties, usually with sampling at specific points. Techniques of interpolation such as inverse distance weighting (IDW) and of prediction such as kriging can be used for prediction and estimation of values at unsampled locations. The objective of this study was to compare the IDW and kriging methodologies for modeling the spatial distribution of the physical characteristics of the soil in the agricultural zone of the slope of the Hoya del Rio Suárez (HDRS). Data on five physical properties of the soil associated with erodibility: percentage of sand, weighted average diameter, available water retention capacity, bulk density, and real density, were used, corresponding to 932 points observed on the HDRS in a 700x700 m grid. Cross-validation was applied for each variable and the error of the evaluated techniques was compared. In addition, zoning maps of spatial variability were prepared to visually compare both procedures. The graphical representation of the IDW and the kriging estimates predictions were similar for all soil characteristics evaluated. However, cross-validation analysis yielded better results with kriging. The variance maps (kriging) showed that the estimation uncertainty was homogeneous for most of the HDRS. The kriging technique turned out to be more accurate than IDW in estimating values at non-sampled points.

SUMMARY Vaccines prevent millions of deaths each year, and their efficacy and safety have been widely established. In economic terms, vaccination is one of the most cost-effective health interventions, generating significant savings and long-term economic growth. Adult vaccination has been shown to decrease morbidity and mortality associated with preventable Infectious diseases, reducing complications and hospitalizations, including admissions to intensive care units. We have prepared this consensus document in order to design a pragmatic, accessible and standardized vaccination scheme for adults, according to risk category and age, based on the available evidence of available vaccines and new vaccines, having used the third consensus of the Paraguayan Infectious Diseases Society of 2019 as a basis for the final recommendations.

RESUMEN Las vacunas previenen millones de muertes cada año y su eficacia y seguridad han sido ampliamente establecidas. En términos económicos, la vacunación es una de las intervenciones sanitarias más costo efectivas, generando un importante ahorro y crecimiento económico que supone a largo plazo. Se ha demostrado que la vacunación de adultos disminuye la morbilidad y la mortalidad asociadas a enfermedades infecciosas prevenibles, reduciendo las complicaciones y las hospitalizaciones, incluidos los ingresos a las unidades de cuidados intensivos. Hemos elaborado este documento de consenso con el objeto de diseñar un esquema de vacunación pragmático, accesible y estandarizado del adulto, según categoría de riesgo y edad, sobre la base de la evidencia disponible de vacunas accesibles y nuevas vacunas habiendo utilizado el Tercer Consenso de la Sociedad Paraguaya de Infectología del 2019 como base para las recomendaciones finales.

Abstract This study characterized the beverage of passion fruit and whey protein added with Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG). The acidity, pH, soluble solids, protein, phenolic compounds, and color of the sample did not differ during the 28 days at 5°C. The LGG counts in the beverage remained >7.70 log CFU/mL during the evaluation period. However, the LGG count was significantly reduced after the in vitro simulated gastrointestinal tract (GIT) evaluation (reduction of 5 logarithmic cycles after processing). On the other hand, the LGG resistance to GIT increased during the shelf-life of the beverage (LGG count of ~ 4.0 log CFU/mL after 28 days). In addition, the LGG count after GIT increased by approximately 2.0 logarithmic cycles when microencapsulation and fermentation technologies were used in beverage processing. Thus, the product has the potential to be commercialized, due to high viability of LGG use to increase the resistance of LGG to GIT.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate genetic recurrence and molecular markers for dyslexia in two candidate genes in the Brazilian population. Methods: a cross-sectional, case-control, observational study, with five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) studied in DYX1C1 and KIAA0319 genes in 86 subjects with dyslexia and 66 controls, matched for gender and age. SNPs were genotyped using the polymerase chain reaction technique in real time, and distribution of genotypic and allelic frequencies between the groups was analyzed. Results: it was determined that 68% of the subjects with dyslexia present a family history of learning difficulties. The DYX1C1 gene did not demonstrate an association with dyslexia, which was found regarding the rs9461045 marker of the KIAA0319 gene. Conclusion: a family history of learning problems was present in more than two-thirds of the group with dyslexia, indicating that this is an important risk factor. An association with dyslexia in the rs9461045 marker was noted, making the study the first one to show an association of the KIAA0319 gene with dyslexia, in Latin America.

abstract: In this work, the authors explore the use of iron ore tailings (IOT) from a tailings dam as a recycled precursor material in producing a composite through alkali-activation technology. Two different composite types were evaluated: paste specimens made using only IOT and an alkaline activator, and mortar specimens using the same binder and quartz sand as fine aggregate. Three different grinding times were applied to activate the IOT; a NaOH solution was used as the alkaline activator with three molar concentrations (8, 10, and 12 mol/l); and, thermal curing of 100°C for 7 days was applied. These parameters were obtained by a hard-mini-test (HMT) experimental procedure. The physico-mechanical properties of the composites were obtained, and the results showed a compressive strength up to 110.0 MPa, which is like high-performance Portland cement concretes and alkali-activated cements derived from well-established precursors reported in the literature using thermal cure.

resumo: Neste trabalho, os autores exploram o uso do rejeito de barragem de minério de ferro (RBMF), de uma barragem de rejeitos, como material precursor reciclado na produção de um compósito através da tecnologia de ativação alcalina. Dois compósitos diferentes foram avaliados: espécimes de pastas feitas usando somente RBMF e ativador alcalino, e espécimes de argamassa usando o mesmo aglomerante e areia como agregado miúdo. Três tempos de moagem diferentes foram aplicados para ativar o RBMF; uma solução de NaOH foi empregada como ativador alcalino com três concentrações molares (8, 10 e 12 mol/l); e cura térmica de 100ºC por 7 dias. Esses parâmetros iniciais foram obtidos através do procedimento experimental Endurecimento-Mini-Teste (EMC). As propriedades físico-mecânicas dos compósitos foram determinadas e os resultados mostraram uma resistência a compressão de até 110,0 MPa, que é compatível com concreto de cimento Portland de alto desempenho e cimentos álcali-ativados feitos a partir de precursores bem estabelecidos reportados na literatura usando cura térmica.

ABSTRACT: Urea is an organic compound characterized as a white, solid, and hygroscopic substance. It is recognized as a source of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) and is widely used as a partial replacement for protein in cattle diets due to the ability of the ruminal microbiota to convert it into microbial protein. Despite the advantages of using urea, it also has limitations, particularly the proximity between metabolizable and toxic or fatal doses. Furthermore, for safe use, a period of adaptation is necessary for the animals. Poisoning is characterized by rapid and generally fatal development, which is frequent in non-adapted animals but can also occur in those with previous adaptations. The aim of this study was to characterize the clinical, epidemiological, and pathological aspects of urea poisoning through a brief review and a retrospective study. In addition, interviews were conducted with veterinarians who frequently send diagnostic material to the Laboratory of Anatomic Pathology of the “Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia” (LAP-FAMEZ) to assess their perception of the outbreaks of urea poisoning. The objective was to obtain a comparative scenario between published cases and those received by the laboratory while considering the real situation of this condition in the field. During this retrospective study, only four outbreaks were investigated; in one, the diagnosis was possible through experimental reproduction. Of 35 interviewees, 88.9% said they had seen more than one case compatible with urea poisoning, but 87.5% did not perform a necropsy and/or send material to confirm the diagnosis. The results show that the reality of urea poisoning may be very distant from that reported in previous studies due to the difficulty often observed in the diagnostic approach, so we developed a flowchart aiming to provide a useful guide for field veterinarians.

RESUMO: A ureia é um composto orgânico, que se apresenta como uma substância branca, sólida e higroscópica, e é reconhecida como fonte de nitrogênio não proteico (NNP), sendo amplamente utilizada como fertilizante e também como substituto parcial de proteína em bovinos devido à capacidade da microbiota ruminal de convertê-la em proteína microbiana. Apesar das vantagens que envolvem o uso da ureia, ela também apresenta limitações, a principal delas é a proximidade entre doses metabolizáveis e tóxicas ou fatais, e para que seja utilizada com segurança é necessário um período de adaptação dos animais. A intoxicação é caracterizada por evolução rápida e geralmente fatal, sendo frequente em animais não adaptados, mas pode ocorrer naqueles com adaptação prévia. O objetivo deste estudo é caracterizar os aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos e patológicos da intoxicação por ureia por meio de uma breve revisão e um estudo retrospectivo. Adicionalmente foram realizadas entrevistas com médicos veterinários que frequentemente enviam material para diagnóstico no Laboratório de Anatomia Patológica da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia (LAP-FAMEZ) com o objetivo de avaliar a percepção dos mesmos em relação aos surtos de intoxicação por ureia, na expectativa de se obter um quadro comparativo entre os casos recebidos pelo laboratório e levantamentos publicados e a real situação desta condição a campo. No período do estudo retrospectivo, foram acompanhados apenas quatro surtos, sendo que em um deles foi possível diagnosticar por reprodução experimental. Dos 35 entrevistados, 88,9% afirmaram ter atendido mais de um caso compatível com intoxicação por ureia, mas 87,5% deles não realizaram necropsia e/ou envio de material para confirmação do diagnóstico. Foi possível observar que a realidade da intoxicação por ureia pode estar muito distante daquela relatada em estudos anteriores, e devido à dificuldade muitas vezes observada na abordagem diagnóstica, desenvolvemos um fluxograma na expectativa de que ele constitua um guia útil para veterinários de campo.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the genetic diversity of Xanthomonas phaseoli p v. manihotis (Xpm) from eight populations from five cassava producing states in Brazil, through the rep-PCR (BOX-PCR and ERIC-PCR) and variable number of tandem repeat (VNTR) markers. Cassava leaves with symptoms of cassava bacterial blight were collected in eight municipalities, and the Xpm isolates were identified by amplification with primers specific for these isolates. The identity of the Xpm isolates was confirmed with the BOX-PCR, ERIC-PCR, and VNTR markers. The observed selection pressure, together with the mode of reproduction and the mechanisms that increase genetic variability, allows of the pathogen populations to adapt according to microclimate variation, contributing to a differentiated reproductive success. ERIC-PCR and VNTRs are the best markers for evaluating the genetic variability in the eight studied Xpm populations. However, ERIC-PCR is the marker that best separated the groups by population and presented a higher similarity between the isolates of the same population. The study of the genetic diversity of Xpm is key to improve disease monitoring and management strategies in cassava crops.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a diversidade genética de Xa nthomona s phaseoli p v . ma nihot i s (Xpm) de oito populações de cinco estados produtores de mandioca no Brasil, por meio de marcadores rep-PCR (BOX-PCR e ERIC-PCR) e variable number of tandem repeats (VNTRs). Folhas de mandioca com sintomas de crestamento bacteriano foram coletadas em oito municípios, e os isolados Xpm foram identificados por amplificação com iniciadores específicos para esses isolados. A identidade dos isolados Xmp foi confirmada com os marcadores BOX-PCR, ERIC-PCR e VNTRs. A pressão de seleção observada, junto com o modo de reprodução e os mecanismos que aumentam a variabilidade genética, permite que as populações do patógeno se adaptem de acordo com a variação dos microclimas, o que contribui para o sucesso reprodutivo diferenciado. ERIC-PCR e VNTRs são os melhores marcadores para avaliar a variabilidade genética das oito populações Xpm estudadas. No entanto, ERIC-PCR é o marcador que melhor separou os grupos por população e apresentou maior similaridade entre os isolados de uma mesma população. O estudo da diversidade genética de Xpm é fundamental para delinear estratégias de manejo e monitoramento de doenças na cultura da mandioca.

Resumo A água é um dos recursos mais importantes para a subsistência da vida na terra, apesar de ser também um dos principais veículos de transmissão de doenças, o que tem impulsionado a um esforço acrescido por parte das entidades responsáveis, a que esta esteja disponível, com a melhor qualidade possível, para o consumo de toda a população humana na terra. O presente estudo teve como objectivo avaliar a qualidade físico-química e microbiológica da água consumida pela população da cidade do Huambo. Foram colhidas amostras em 2 pontos, onde duas foram acondicionadas à temperatura ambiente e outra em condições de refrigeração. Foram colhidas oito amostras da rede de sistema de abastecimento público (torneiras) e oito em poços profundos (cacimbas). A colheita ocorreu nos dias 24 e 25 de Setembro de 2013 e 08 de Janeiro de 2014, e foram analisados 15 parâmetros físico-químicos e quatro microbiológicos. Dos dois pontos analisados, excederam as recomendações do Nº de colónias a 22ºC e a 37ºC apresentando valores de 40,0 % e 21,9 % (poços) e 25,7 % e 19,1 % (torneiras) que não estão de acordo com o Decreto-Lei n.º 306/2007 de 27 de Agosto, que dispõe sobre os procedimentos de controlo e de vigilância da qualidade da água para consumo humano e seu padrão de potabilidade. A análise de E. coli estava ausente em todas as amostras analisadas. Concluiu-se que a contaminação microbiológica observada reforça a necessidade de um constante monitoramento da qualidade microbiológica da água, visando os padrões adequados de potabilidade para consumo humano e então, prevenindo-se possíveis doenças.

Abstract Water is one of the most important resources for the subsistence of life on earth, although it is also one of the main vehicles for the transmission of diseases, which has driven an increased effort on the part of the responsible entities, to make it available, with the best possible quality for the consumption of the entire human population on earth. The present study aimed to assess the physical-chemical and microbiological quality of the water consumed by the population of the city of Huambo. Samples were taken at 2 points, where two were stored at room temperature and another in refrigerated conditions. Eight samples were taken from the public supply system network (taps) and eight from deep wells (cacimbas). The harvest took place on September 24 and 25, 2013 and January 8, 2014, and 15 physical-chemical and four microbiological parameters were analyzed. Of the two points analyzed, they exceeded the recommendations of the Nº of colonies at 22ºC and 37ºC, presenting values of 40.0% and 21.9% (wells) and 25.7% and 19.1 % (taps) that are not in agreement with Decree-Law No. 306/2007 of 27 August, which provides for the control and surveillance procedures for the quality of water for human consumption and its standard of potability. The E. coli analysis was absent in all analyzed samples. It was concluded that the observed microbiological contamination reinforces the need for constant monitoring of the microbiological quality of the water, aiming at the adequate potability standards for human consumption and then, preventing possible diseases.

RESUMEN Introducción: La insuficiencia renal crónica es considerada un importante problema de salud pública, ya que tanto la enfermedad como el tratamiento tienen profundos impactos en todo el contexto de vida de la persona afectada. Objetivo: Comprender las repercusiones de la insuficiencia renal crónica en el contexto biopsicosocial de personas en hemodiálisis. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, cualitativo, desarrollado en un hospital regional de referencia para el tratamiento de hemodiálisis en el Estado de Bahía, Brasil. En el estudio participaron 20 personas con insuficiencia renal crónica, mayores de 18 años, sometidas a hemodiálisis. La recolección de datos se realizó durante el mes de diciembre de 2019, a través de una entrevista semiestructurada. Posteriormente, los datos fueron sistematizados mediante análisis de contenido. Resultados: Se demostró que la insuficiencia renal trae repercusiones multidimensionales para las personas, debido a las dificultades para ingresar al mundo laboral, dificultades relacionadas con las restricciones alimentarias y hídricas, limitaciones relacionadas con el ocio y la práctica de actividad física e impactos en el ejercicio de la sexualidad. Sin embargo, a pesar de las limitaciones provocadas por la enfermedad, las personas se mostraron resilientes al resaltar la importancia del tratamiento para garantizar su calidad de vida. Conclusión: El estudio apunta a la necesidad de construir políticas específicas orientadas a reducir los impactos provocados por la insuficiencia renal crónica, por ser una enfermedad crónica e irreversible, que necesita tratamiento permanente. Además, los hallazgos confirman la necesidad de una evaluación individualizada y la provisión de atención integral y humanizada por parte de profesionales de la salud que les brindan atención, como una forma de minimizar los impactos de la enfermedad.

RESUMO Introdução: a insuficiência renal crônica é considerada um importante problema de saúde pública, uma vez que tanto a doença quanto o tratamento provocam impactos profundos em todo o contexto de vida da pessoa acometida. Objetivo: compreender as repercussões da insuficiência renal crônica no contexto biopsicossocial de pacientes em tratamento hemodialítico. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo descritivo, qualitativo, desenvolvido em um hospital referência regional para o tratamento de hemodiálise no Estado da Bahia, Brasil. Participaram do estudo 20 pessoas com insuficiência renal crônica, com idade superior a 18 anos, em tratamento hemodialítico. A coleta dos dados foi realizada durante o mês de dezembro de 2019 através de uma entrevista semiestruturada. Posteriormente, os dados foram sistematizados através da Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: evidenciou-se que a insuficiência renal traz repercussões multidimensionais para os pacientes, devido às dificuldades de inserção no mundo do trabalho, dificuldades relacionadas às restrições alimentares e hídricas, limitações relacionadas ao lazer e a prática de atividade física e impactos no exercício da sexualidade. Entretanto, apesar das limitações provocadas pela doença, os pacientes mostraram-se resilientes ao destacarem a importância do tratamento para garantia de sua qualidade de vida. Conclusão: o estudo aponta para necessidade de construção de políticas específicas voltadas para redução dos impactos provocados pela Insuficiência Renal Crônica, uma vez que se trata de uma doença crônica e irreversível, com necessidade de tratamento permanente. Além disso, os achados ratificam a necessidade de avaliação individualizada e oferta de uma assistência holística e humanizada por parte dos profissionais de saúde como forma de minimizar os impactos do adoecimento.

ABSTRACT Introduction: chronic renal failure is considered an important public health problem since both the disease and the treatment have profound impacts on the entire life context of the affected person. Objective: to understand the repercussions of chronic renal failure in the biopsychosocial context of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methodology: this is a descriptive, qualitative study developed in a regional reference hospital for the treatment of hemodialysis in the State of Bahia, Brazil. Twenty people with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis took part in the study; all of them were over 18 years old. The data collection was carried out in December 2019 through a semi-structured interview. Subsequently, the data were systematized through Content Analysis. Results: the study showed that renal failure brings multidimensional repercussions to the patients due to the difficulties in entering the world market, difficulties related to food and water restrictions, limitations related to leisure and the physical activity practices, and the impact on sexuality. However, despite the limitations caused by the disease, patients showed themselves resilient in highlighting the importance of the treatment to guarantee their quality of life. Conclusion: the study points to the need of building specific policies aimed at reducing the impact caused by chronic renal failure since it is a chronic and irreversible disease that requires permanent treatment. Furthermore, the findings confirm the need for individualized assessment and the provision of holistic and humanized care by health professionals as a way to minimize the impact of the illness.

Resumen La caña de azúcar (Saccharum spp. híbridos) es el cultivo agroindustrial más importante de regiones tropicales. Recientemente, en sus hojas se han observado estrías cloróticas asociadas con la bacteria Herbaspirillum rubrisubalbicans que afecta la capacidad fotosin tética de la planta y su rendimiento. El comportamiento espacio temporal es un elemento importante para el manejo integral de las enfermedades. Con el objetivo de determinar la distribución espacial del moteado clorótico en caña de azúcar en el sureste de México, se georreferenciaron 80 puntos en forma aleatoria en 2016 y 2017, para determinar la inci dencia de la enfermedad. Se generó un semivariograma experimental ajustado a un modelo teórico preestablecido y se estimó el Kriging. La incidencia de la enfermedad fue de 2,93% (2016) y 5,36% (2017) en las variedades ICP-MEX-92-1420, CP-72-2086, ITV-92-373, MEX-79434 y MEX-69-290. El comportamiento espacial se ajustó al modelo Penta-esférico en 2016 y Esférico en 2017. La interpolación espacial se validó con valores cercanos a cero de la Media del Error (ME), Raíz del Error Cuadrático Medio (RMSE) y Media Estandarizada del Error de predicción (MSPE), visualizándose en el mapa obtenido. Los resultados permitirán direccionar el manejo integral del moteado clorótico en caña de azúcar en la zona afectada.

Abstract Sugar cane (Saccharum spp. hybrids) is the most important agroindustrial crop of the tropics. Recently, sugar cane plants with chlorotic leaf streaking associated with the bacterium Herbaspirillum rubrisubalbicans have been observed. This disease impacts photosynthetic capacity and yield. Characterizing the spatio-temporal behavior of chlorotic mottling using prediction maps is an important element of integrated disease management. Here, we determine the spatial distribution of mottled stripe disease in sugar cane in southeastern Mexico. To do this, we randomly chose and georeferenced 80 points in commercial plots in 2016 and 2017 to determine the disease incidence. We generated an experimental semivariogram based on a predetermined theoretical model and estimated Kriging. The incidence was 2.93% in 2016 and 5.36% in 2017 in varieties ICP-MEX-92-1420, CP-72-2086, ITV-92-373, MEX-79434 and MEX-69-290. The spatial behavior of the bacteria fit the pentaspherical model in 2016 and the spherical model in 2017. Spatial interpolation was validated by Mean Error (ME), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Standardized Prediction Error (MSPE) values near zero, visualized using the generated map. The results will be used to guide management of mottled stripe disease in sugar cane in the affected area.
