ABSTRACT This study sought to evaluate the environmental awareness of small rural producers in the municipality of Divinópolis, MG, Brazil, regarding Legal Reserves – LR and Permanent Preservation Areas – PPA, referencing the state’s current forest legislation, known as the Forest Code of Minas Gerais (Law 20.922/2013). For this purpose, a qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews, with the sample defined by the saturation criterion, and issues considered using Bardin content analysis. The results showed that, in general, rural landowners define both evaluated terms incorrectly and/or incompletely. All of them reported not having knowledge of the environmental legislation and the majority declared not having been informed about the question and presented no record of LR notarization or registration at the Rural Environmental Registry - RER. This finding showed the need for the involvement of public and social institutions, and companies operating in the region to create guidance and training programs for landowners regarding environmental legislation, as well as encouraging the creation and maintenance of protected areas and supporting the environmental compliance of the properties.

A indústria sucroalcooleira, nos moldes que se apresenta na atualidade brasileira, implica na geração de impactos econômicos, ambientais e sociais. Nesse último ressalta-se a geração de empregos e a constituição do profissional temporário, o cortador de cana. A pesquisa teve como objetivo caracterizar algumas variáveis sócio-econômicas relativas ao trabalhador temporário da agroindústria canavieira de Lagoa da Prata, Minas Gerais. O trabalho buscou, mediante uma pesquisa documental exploratória de natureza quantitativa e descritiva, caracterizar o perfil sócio-econômico dos trabalhadores temporários da agroindústria canavieira de Lagoa da Prata - MG. Os resultados indicam que a maioria dos trabalhadores temporários do setor sucroalcooleiro são migrantes, homens e jovens, com ensino fundamental incompleto, sendo a maioria não sindicalizado. A presença majoritária de jovens evidencia a correlação entre a disposição física e a força muscular exigida pelo trabalho proposto. A maioria sendo migrantes sazonais pode ser explicada pela inibição dos trabalhadores locais diante do baixo salário oferecido, associados ao trabalho pesado e desgastante do corte da cana. A priorização do trabalhador do sexo masculino em detrimento do sexo feminino se justificou pela superioridade biológica natural para o desempenho do trabalho e pela maior oferta de mão-de-obra.

The sugar and alcohol industry in the patterns which presents itself in the Brazilian reality has always produced great economic, environmental and social impacts, some of them identified only nowadays. In that sense, the constitution of the temporary worker, the cane cutter and generation of employments is stressed. The work conducted about these aspects was intended to characterize some socioeconomic variables relative to the temporary worker of the sugar cane industry which exists in the town of Lagoa da Prata/MG. Through a documental exploratory research work of quantitative and descriptive nature we seek to characterize the socioeconomic profile of those temporary works of the sugar cane agroindustry. The information which contributed towards the identification of that profile were obtained from the only sugar cane enterprise which acts in the town and in the record of the workers in the databank of the Lagoa da Prata rural workers' syndicate. The results point out that most of the temporary workers of the sugar alcohol sector is migrant, constituted mainly of young men com incomplete primary education and non-syndicalized. The majority presence of young people stands out the correlation between physical aptitude and the muscular strength demanded by cane-cutting. The greatest presence of the seasonal migrant worker and not of the local worker is related to the low wage paid, associated to the work regarded as heavy and stressful That worker is chiefly of the male gender for being the majority of the labor offered and for being regarded as carrier of better physical conditions for the doing of the demanded work.

A presença de formigas (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) em ambientes hospitalares pode constituir um problema de saúde pública, especialmente por serem vetores mecânicos de organismos patogênicos. O trabalho teve como objetivo realizar o levantamento de formigas e analisar a presença de bactérias a elas associadas em dois hospitais regionais de médio porte da cidade de Divinópolis, MG. As coletas foram realizadas mensalmente, durante um período de seis meses. Foram coletadas formigas Pheidole sp1 e sp2, Linepithema humile, Wasmannia auropunctata, Camponotus sp1 e sp2, Odontomachus sp, Solenopsis sp, Acromyrmex sp e Tapinoma melenocephalum. Observou-se que estas transportavam mecanicamente Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus patogênico e não patogênico e Escherichia coli. Tais resultados evidenciam a propensão à ocorrência de infecções hospitalares nesses locais pela transmissão mecânica de agentes patogênicos por formigas.

The presence of ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in hospital environments may constitute a public health problem, especially since they are mechanical vectors for pathogenic organisms. This study aimed to survey the ant populations and analyze the presence of bacteria associated with them in two medium-sized regional hospitals in the municipality of Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Specimens were collected every monthly over a six-month period. The following ant species were found: Pheidole sp1 and sp2, Linepithema humile, Wasmannia auropunctata, Camponotus sp1 and sp2, Odontomachus sp, Solenopsis sp, Acromyrmex sp and Tapinoma melenocephalum. It was observed that these ants mechanically transported Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli and non-pathogenic and pathogenic Staphylococcus. These results show the propensity for occurrences of hospital infections at these sites caused by mechanical transmission of pathogens by ants.

Realizou-se este trabalho com o objetivo de estudar, em casa-de-vegetação, a tolerância como mecanismo de resistência do sorgo ao pulgão Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch), em experimentos conduzidos no Centro Nacional de Pesquisa de Milho e Sorgo - CNPMS/ EMBRAPA, Sete Lagoas, MG. Oito genótipos de sorgo, sendo sete de resistência conhecida ao pulgão Schizaphis graminum (Rondani) e a cultivar comercial BRS303, foram semeados em uma densidade de três sementes por vaso com capacidade para 5 Kg de solo. Após a emergência, realizou-se um desbaste, deixando-se apenas uma planta, que foi coberta por uma gaiola cilíndrica revestida com "voil". Aos onze dias após o plantio, metade dos vasos contendo cada genótipo foi infestada com 25 pulgões adultos por planta, enquanto a outra metade foi utilizada como tratamento-testemunha, avaliando-se, semanalmente, a altura e o peso fresco e seco das plantas infestadas e não-infestadas. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, em parcela subdividida, alocando-se, nas parcelas, os genótipos e, nas subparcelas, os períodos de avaliação, com 10 repetições. Observou-se que 'GR1.1.1.1.1', 'BRS303', 'IS2293', 'GSBTx399', 'TX430 (GR)' e 'TX2567' apresentaram a tolerância como mecanismo de resistência, embora essa tenha sido mais evidente nos três primeiros genótipos.

The objective of this work was to investigate in a greenhouse, the tolerance as a resistance mechanism of sorghum to the corn leaf aphid Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch) in experiments conducted in the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center of EMBRAPA, in Sete Lagoas, MG, Brazil. Eight sorghum genotypes, seven of them being known as resistant to the greenbug Schizaphis graminum (Rondani) and the commercial cultivar BRS303, were sown at a density of three seeds per pot with a capacity for 5 kg of soil. After emergence, a thinning was accomplished leaving only one plant, which was covered with a cylindrical cage, "voil''-coated. Eleven days after sowing, half of the pots were infested with 25 greenbug (adult aphids) per plant, whereas the other half was utilized as control. Weekly the height and fresh and dry weight at infested and non-infested plants were observed. The experimental design was completely randomized in split plot by allocating in the plots the genotypes and in the subplots the evaluation periods with ten replicates. It was found that genotypes 'GR 1.1.1.1.1', 'BRS303', 'IS2293', 'GSBTx399', 'TX430 (GR)' and 'TX2567' presented tolerance as a resistance mechanism, though it had been more evident in the three first ones genotypes.

Este trabalho foi conduzido com o objetivo de conhecer os parasitóides de moscas-da-fruta na região de Divinópolis-MG. As pupas foram obtidas pelo método de flutuação, sendo individualizadas em cápsulas de gelatina até a emergência das moscas adultas ou de seus parasitóides. A prevalência total de parasitismo foi de 14,8%. Trichopria anastrepha foi a espécie mais comum, com 44,5%.

The objective of this work was to identify the parasitoids of fruit flies in Divinópolis-MG region. The pupae were obtained by the flotation method. They were individually placed in gelatin capsules until the emergency of the adult flies or their parasitoids. The overall prevalence of parasitism was 14,8%. Trichopria anastrepha was the most common specie with a frequency of 44,5%.
