Resumo O graute é um material normalmente aplicado para melhorar as propriedades mecânicas da alvenaria estrutural. Assim, a demanda pela utilização do grautes vem crescendo paralelamente à demanda por alvenaria estrutural. Sem diretrizes específicas para dosagem, esses produtos geralmente são preparados no local com base nos mesmos conceitos para preparo de concretos comuns. Várias propriedades do graute ainda precisam ser investigadas e compreendidas como ineficiência dos parâmetros de dosagem, resultando na produção de grautes não ecoeficientes. Desta forma, existe uma demanda por estudos técnico-científicos que auxiliem no desenvolvimento de diretrizes para dosagens de grautes. Este trabalho avalia as propriedades reológicas e do endurecidas de composições de grautes que simulam condições de campo para mostrar a inadequação do método de dosagem, demonstrando uma maneira de entender essa lacuna na tecnologia. A pesquisa investiga como as mudanças na relação água/cimento, para aumentar trabalhabilidade, afetariam as propriedades de estado fresco e endurecido de grautes para alvenaria estrutural. A mistura dos grautes foi realizada em um reômetro que permitiu determinar o comportamento e os parâmetros reológicos durante a mistura e em diferentes condições de cisalhamento. A resistência à compressão, a porosidade e a permeabilidade ao ar foram as propriedades avaliadas no estado endurecido. Os resultados mostraram que composições com maior teor de cimento não necessariamente refletiram propriedades mecânicas melhores, uma vez que não houve alterações estatística, pois outras variáveis também foram alteradas. Abstract Grout is a material usually applied to enhance the mechanical properties of structural masonry. As such, the demand for grout has been growing parallel to the demand for structural masonry. Without guidelines for grout mixing design, these products are often prepared on-site based on the same concepts used for preparing ordinary Portland cement-based concretes. Several grout properties still need to be investigated and understood due to this mixing-design approach, and consequently, the production of ecoefficient grouts is a secondary priority. Due to these obstacles, there is a demand for technical-scientific studies to aid with developing grout design guidelines. This work evaluates the rheological and hardened properties of grout compositions that simulate in-field conditions to show the inadequacy of the mixing design method and a way to understand this lack in the technology. The research investigates how the changes in the water-to-cement ratio, to increase the strength, would affect the fresh and hardened state properties of grouts for structural masonry. The grout’s mixing was done in a rheometer which made it possible to determine the rheological behaviour and parameters during mixing and under different shear conditions. Compressive strength, porosity, and air-permeability were evaluated in the hardened state. The results showed that compositions with more cement content does not necessarily reflect enhanced mechanical properties since the differences were not statistically significant, because other variables were also changed. RESUMO Introdução: A redução da carga pelo método das repetições máximas (RM) pode ser necessária para promover maior número de repetições e, consequentemente, maior volume total, tempo sob tensão e classificações do esforço percebido. Objetivo: Comparar os efeitos de diferentes cargas do exercício leg press no número de repetições, volume total, tempo sob tensão e percepção de esforço. Métodos: Dezoito universitárias (23,9 ± 3,8 anos) realizaram duas sessões experimentais com 90% e 100% de 10-12 RM em desenho transversal balanceado. Resultados: O número de repetições da segunda e terceira séries, volume total e tempo sob tensão a 90% de 10-12 RM foi estatisticamente maior do que a 100% de 10-12 RM (p < 0,05). A percepção do esforço da primeira e segunda séries e a carga de treinamento (percepção do esforço x duração das sessões) foram maiores na sessão realizada com 100% de 10-12 RM (p < 0,05). Conclusão: Uma pequena redução da carga resulta em maior número de repetições, volume total e tempo sob tensão. A sessão com maior carga induziu maior percepção do esforço e carga de treinamento. Assim, cientistas e treinadores podem considerar cargas menores para maximizar o número de repetições, o volume total e o tempo sob tensão, o que pode causar maiores adaptações musculares a longo prazo. Nível de evidência II; Estudo prospectivo comparativo.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Load reduction using the repetition maximum (RM) method may be necessary to promote higher numbers of repetitions, and consequently, higher total volume, time under tension, and perceived exertion ratings. Objective: To compare the effects of different leg press exercise loads on number of repetitions, total volume, time under tension, and perceived exertion. Methods: Eighteen women university students (23.9 ± 3.8 years) performed two experimental sessions with 90% and 100% of 10-12 RM in a balanced crossover design. Results: The number of repetitions of the second and third sets, the total volume, and time under tension at 90% of 10-12 RM was statistically higher than at 100% of 10-12 RM ( p < 0.05). The perceived exertion of the first and second sets and the training load (perceived exertion x duration of sessions) were higher at 100% of the 10-12 RM session ( p < 0.05). Conclusion: A small reduction in load results in a greater number of repetitions, total volume, and time under tension. The session with the higher load appeared to induce higher perceived exertion and training load. Thus, scientists and coaches might consider lower loads to maximize the number of repetitions, total volume, and time under tension, which may cause greater long-term muscular adaptations. Level of evidence II; Comparative prospective study.

RESUMEN Introducción: La reducción de la carga por el método de las repeticiones máximas (RM) puede ser necesaria para promover un mayor número de repeticiones y, consecuentemente, un mayor volumen total, tiempo bajo tensión y calificaciones del esfuerzo percibido. Objetivo: Comparar los efectos de diferentes cargas del ejercicio de prensa de piernas sobre el número de repeticiones, volumen, tiempo bajo tensión y esfuerzo percibido. Métodos: Dieciocho estudiantes universitarios (23,9 ± 3,8 años) realizaron dos sesiones experimentales con el 90% y el 100% de 10-12 RM en un diseño trasversal equilibrado. Resultados: El número de repeticiones de la segunda y tercera serie, el volumen total y el tiempo bajo tensión al 90% de 10-12 RM fue estadísticamente mayor que al 100% de 10-12 RM (p < 0,05). El esfuerzo percibido de la primera y segunda serie y la carga de entrenamiento (esfuerzo percibido x duración de las sesiones) fueron superiores en la sesión realizada al 100% de 10-12 RM (p < 0,05). Conclusión: Una pequeña reducción de la carga da lugar a un mayor número de repeticiones, volumen total y tiempo bajo tensión. La sesión con mayor carga indujo un mayor esfuerzo percibido y carga de entrenamiento. Por lo tanto, los científicos y entrenadores pueden considerar cargas más bajas para maximizar el número de repeticiones, el volumen total y el tiempo bajo tensión, lo que puede causar mayores adaptaciones musculares a largo plazo. Abstract In the urban network polarized by the villages of Casa Branca, in the Province of São Paulo, during the 19th century, municipalities were born from religious property donations and make up the northeast portion of the current State of São Paulo, in the border with Minas Gerais. This work proposes to demonstrate the formation of this territory and of some of its urban spaces, analyzing the morphogenesis and the urban routes of these settlements, related to the network of paths. The investigation falls within the scope of studies of History of Urbanization that use Historical GIS tools and works from textual and cartographic sources, during the 19th century. It seeks to contribute to studies on the genesis of small municipalities, creating thematic cartographies that pose questions about the formation of the network and urban spaces.

Resumo Na rede urbana polarizada pela vila de Casa Branca, na província de São Paulo, durante o século XIX, municípios nasceram a partir dos chamados patrimônios religiosos e compõem a porção nordeste do atual estado de São Paulo. Este trabalho propõe demonstrar a formação desse território e de alguns de seus espaços urbanos, por meio da análise da morfogênese e do traçado desses assentamentos, relacionados com a rede de caminhos e as rotas estruturantes. A investigação insere-se no âmbito de estudos da história urbana que utilizam ferramentas do SIG Histórico e trabalha com fontes textuais e cartográficas produzidas no decorrer do século XIX. O artigo busca contribuir com estudos sobre a gênese de pequenos municípios, criando cartografias temáticas que tratam de questões acerca da formação dos espaços urbanos e de suas modificações ao longo do tempo.

ABSTRACT The knowledge of the adequate period for the beginning of weed management in lettuce crop can increase the efficiency of production, reducing the costs with management. The aim of this study was to determine the pre-interference period (PIP), the critical time for weed removal (CTWR) and the critical period of weed control (CPWC) in three lettuce cultivars, Elisa, Lucy Brown and Solaris. Coexistence and the absence of weeds were evaluated for each cultivar. The design was in randomized blocks with seven treatments (0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after transplanting - DAT) of coexistence and the same seven periods of weed absence with four replicates in each experiment. The highest infestation densities were with the species Oxalis latifolia, Coronopus didymus and Amaranthus hybridus. The leaf area and number of leaves per plant were reduced by up to 50% and 66%, respectively, in relation to the longest period of coexistence with weeds and yield reduced by 48% (Elisa), 40% (Lucy Brown) and 33% (Solaris). The cultivar Solaris showed greater tolerance to weed interference. Based on yield, PIP was 1, 3 and 3 DAT and CTWR was 37, 37 and 35 DAT, and CPWC was 2 to 37, 3 to 37 and 3 to 35 for the cultivars Elisa, Lucy Brown and Solaris, respectively.

RESUMO O conhecimento do período adequado para início do manejo de plantas daninhas na cultura da alface pode aumentar a eficiência de produção reduzindo os custos com o manejo. Objetivou-se neste trabalho determinar o período anterior à interferência (PAI), o período total de prevenção da interferência (PTPI) e o período crítico de prevenção da interferência (PCPI) em três cultivares de alface, Elisa, Lucy Brown e Solaris. Foram avaliadas a convivência e a ausência de plantas daninhas para cada cultivar. O delineamento foi em blocos casualizados com sete tratamentos [0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 e 42 dias após transplantio (DAT)] de convivência e os mesmos sete períodos de ausência de plantas daninhas com quatro repetições em cada experimento. As maiores densidades de infestação foram com as espécies Oxalis latifolia, Coronopus didymus e Amaranthus hybridus. A área foliar e número de folhas por planta foram reduzidas em até 50% e 66% respectivamente em função do maior período de convivência com as plantas daninhas e produtividade foi reduzida em 48% (Elisa), 40% (Lucy Brown) e 33% (Solaris). A cultivar Solaris apresentou maior tolerância à interferência das plantas daninhas. Com base nos dados de produtividade o PAI foi de 1, 3 e 3 DAT e o PTPI foi de 37, 37 e 35 DAT, sendo o PCPI de 2 a 37, 3 a 37 e 3 a 35 para as cultivares Elisa, Lucy Brown e Solaris, respectivamente.

BACKGROUND Leishmania RNA virus 1 (LRV1) is commonly found in South American Leishmania parasites belonging to the subgenus Viannia, whereas Leishmania RNA virus 2 (LRV2) was previously thought to be restricted to the Old-World pathogens of the subgenus Leishmania. OBJECTIVES In this study, we investigated the presence of LRV2 in strains of Leishmania (L.) infantum, the causative agent of visceral leishmaniasis (VL), originating from different hosts, clinical forms, and geographical regions. METHODS A total of seventy-one isolates were screened for LRV2 using semi-nested reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) targeting the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene. FINDINGS We detected LRV2 in two L. infantum isolates (CUR268 and HP-EMO) from canine and human cases, respectively. MAIN CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, this is the first detection of LRV2 in the New World.

ABSTRACT The biomass sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] was developed for energy production, but its agronomic characteristics make it an alternative plant for silage production. This study aimed to evaluate the chemical-bromatological composition of silages from biomass sorghum genotypes. The experimental genotypes B004, B005, B009, B010, B011, B013, B015 and B020, as well as three commercially available genotypes (BRS655, Volumax and K1009), were evaluated. The pH, dry matter, ash, organic matter, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, hemicellulose and lignin were analyzed. A completely randomized design, with four replications, was used, having the genotypes as treatments. Although significant differences were observed among the 11 genotypes, the chemical-bromatological composition of all them showed their potential to be used for silage production.

RESUMO O sorgo biomassa [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] foi desenvolvido para a produção de energia, mas suas características agronômicas o tornam uma planta alternativa para a produção de silagem. Objetivou-se avaliar a composição químico-bromatológica de silagens provenientes de genótipos de sorgo biomassa. Os genótipos experimentais avaliados foram B004, B005, B009, B010, B011, B013, B015 e B020, além de três genótipos disponíveis comercialmente (BRS655, Volumax e K1009). Foram determinados o pH, matéria seca, cinzas, matéria orgânica, proteína bruta, fibra em detergente neutro, fibra em detergente ácido, hemicelulose e lignina. Utilizou-se delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições, considerando-se os genótipos como tratamentos. Embora diferenças significativas tenham sido observadas entre os 11 genótipos, a composição químico-bromatológica de todos eles mostrou seu potencial para utilização na produção de silagem.

Abstract Objectives: To analyze breathing modes with infrared thermography. Methods: Cross-sectional observational exploratory study conducted in 20 female participants with a mean age of 26.0-years. The thermograms were made following the principles of the American Academy of Thermology and the Brazilian Thermology Society. The camera FLIR A315 (FLIR Inc., Santa Barbara, CA) was used for the tests. The recordings consisted of the participants breathing normally through the nose for 2 min and simulating oral/oronasal breathing for another 2min. The thermograms were analyzed with the FLIR Tools software. An ellipse was placed between the nostrils and the lip commissures to obtain the mean temperatures. The collection was made by two independent researchers, and the normalized non-dimensional temperature was calculated. Results: The temperature in nasal breathing is higher than in oral/oronasal breathing both for inhaling and exhaling when measured in the region of the mouth. The exhaling temperatures were higher than the inhaling ones in oral/oronasal breathing (through the nose and the mouth) and nasal breathing (only through the nose). The temperature difference between exhaling and inhaling (ΔT) was greater in oral/oronasal breathing when measured in the region of the mouth. Conclusion: The thermographic assessment of breathing modes may be made by comparing the mean temperatures of the mouth, using an ellipse. Abstract In the territory of Casa Branca village, in the Province of São Paulo, in the mid-19th century, donations of chapels’ property were the genesis of villages, later elevated to curated chapels and parishes. The article demonstrates the formation of the urban network, analyzing the relationship between the secular force and the Catholic Church in the territorial occupation, a process that involved the parishes of the region and instances of the civil and judiciary forces in the recognition and possession of chapels properties. The primary sources include the civil and ecclesiastical textual documentation of the region, spatialized in a Historical GIS that reconstitutes the territory of the application of the chapel of Rio do Peixe and its free and slave population. It allows analyzing the relationship between the farms, the network of paths, the chapels and the chapels’ properties, revealing social hierarchies and patronage networks around the cured chapels, showing their relevance in the daily life of the 19th century contemporaries.

Resumo No termo da Vila de Casa Branca, na Província de São Paulo, em meados do século XIX, doações de patrimônios de capelas permitiram a gênese de povoações, posteriormente elevadas a capelas curadas e freguesias. O artigo demonstra a formação da rede urbana, analisando a relação entre o poder secular e a Igreja Católica na ocupação territorial, um processo que envolveu as paróquias da região e instâncias do poder civil e judiciário no reconhecimento e posse dos patrimônios de capelas. As fontes primárias analisadas são a documentação textual civil e eclesiástica da região, espacializada em um SIG histórico que reconstitui o território da aplicação da capela do Rio do Peixe e sua população livre e cativa. A elaboração de um SIG histórico permite analisar a relação entre as fazendas, a rede de caminhos, as capelas e os patrimônios existentes, revelando hierarquias sociais e redes de clientelismo em torno das capelas curadas, apontando para sua relevância no cotidiano dos coevos do século XIX.

ABSTRACT Amaranthus hybridus is a C4 broadleaf species widely spread across Brazilian agricultural territory. Recently, several herbicide resistance reports have been documented in southern Brazil, including the reports for enolpyruvilshikymate-3-phosphate (EPSPS)- and acetolactate-synthase (ALS)- inhibitors. The objective of this study was to confirm the existence of an ALS resistant (R) A. hybridus population from Paraná state. Dose-response experiments were conducted with R and a known susceptible (S) population with herbicides from three different chemical groups of ALS inhibitors. Biomass relative to untreated control was quantified and GR50 (dose for 50% of biomass reduction), GR90 (dose for 90% of biomass reduction) and resistant index (RI) were calculated based on non-linear regression analysis. The R population was 6.9-fold resistant to chlorimuron-ethyl and 6.5-fold resistant to metsulfuron-ethyl (sulfonylureas - SUL). Additionally, the recommended rates from each herbicide was not sufficient to reach 90% control to R based on GR90 parameter estimation. There was no resistance to imazethapyr (imidazolinone - IMI) and cloransulan-methyl (triazolopyrimidine - TRI) due to the low doses of GR90 and non-significant RIs. The R A. hybridus population investigated was resistant to ALS inhibitors chlorimuron-ethyl and metsulfuron-ethyl (SUL), but susceptible to IMI and TRI herbicides.

Abstract Previous studies have demonstrated the improved membrane properties of ceramic membranes made from thermally modified clays with cationic manioc starch and eggshell residue as additives. Based on the employment of these membranes, the relationship between thermally modified clays’ structure and cross-flow microfiltration using oil-in-water emulsion was studied (North Sea heavy crude oil). Using raw clay (M1) and thermally pretreated clay (M2), tubular ceramic membranes were prepared by the extrusion method. Critical Flux in different concentrations (250, 500, and 1000 mgL−1), fouling mechanisms, and membrane resistance were analyzed. The initial membrane resistance values for M1 and M2 membranes were 2.23 ± 0.32 × 1012 m−1 and 1.72 ± 0.293 × 1012 m−1, respectively. The membrane resistance was reduced by 22% due to the clay modification, which also decreased the contact angle, increased the pore size, and decreased the membrane roughness. Regarding the total organic carbon removal, the M2 membrane had no loss in separation efficiency despite having a slightly larger pore size. These results indicate that the clay-induced structural changes decreased the membrane resistance and improved the permeate flux but did not decrease the oil-in-water emulsion’s separation efficiency.

Resumo A presença de parasitoses na suinocultura gera prejuízos econômicos relevantes. Dentre elas, destacam-se as helmintoses gastrintestinais. Sendo assim, medidas de controle efetivas, tais como o uso de anti-helmínticos corretos, são importantes para a lucratividade na criação de suínos. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a eficácia do oxibendazol, administrado pela via oral, em suínos (não industrial) naturalmente infectados por nematódeos gastrintestinais, na região de Franca/SP. Para isso, foram selecionados, por meio de exames coproparasitológicos (ovos por grama (OPG > 500) de fezes), 18 suínos naturalmente parasitados por nematódeos gastrintestinais, que foram divididos em dois grupos experimentais: grupo tratado (oxibendazol) e grupo controle. Após o tratamento, os animais foram submetidos à necropsia parasitológica, e os resultados das quantificações de helmintos presentes no trato gastrintestinais indicaram a presença das espécies Ascaris suum, Trichuris suis, Oesophagostomum dentatum e Hyostrongylus rubidus em ordem decrescente de ocorrência. Nos rebanhos suínos brasileiros, os sistemas de produção não tecnificadas podem favorecer a transmissão de helmintos. O tratamento com o oxibendazol obteve eficácia de 100% para as espécies A. suum e H. rubidus, de 99,65% para o O. dentatum e de 99,20% para o T. suis, reduzindo significativamente (P < 0,01) as contagens de helmintos, comprovando que o uso do oxibendazol é eficaz no controle dos principais helmintos de suínos.

Abstract In swine production, parasites, especially gastrointestinal helminths, generate considerable economic losses. Therefore, effective control measures, such as the use of the correct anthelmintics, are of paramount importance for maintaining profitability. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of the anthelmintic oxibendazole, administered orally, in pigs (non-industrial) naturally infected with gastrointestinal nematodes. To that end, we selected 18 pigs naturally parasitized by gastrointestinal nematodes, as determined by examination of fecal samples (eggs per gram (EPG > 500) of feces), and divided them into two groups: treated (with a 10-day course of oxibendazole) and control (untreated). After the treatment period, the animals were euthanized. During necropsy, the helminths in the gastrointestinal tract were identified and quantified. The species identified were, in order of occurrence, Ascaris suum, Trichuris suis, Oesophagostomum dentatum, and Hyostrongylus rubidus. In Brazilian swine herds, traditional (non-industrial) production systems can favor the transmission of helminths. We found that treatment with oxibendazole was 100% effective against A. suum and H. rubidus, whereas it was 99.65% effective against O. dentatum and 99.20% effective against T. suis, significantly reducing helminth counts (P < 0.01 for all). We conclude that oxibendazole is effective in controlling the main helminths in swine.

This work developed ternary films based on Poly(Lactic Acid) (PLA), Cloisite 30B (C30B) and Oregano Essential Oil (OEO) as proposal to be applied in food packaging. The films thus manufactured were unscathed, with reduced surface defects. Their thickness and moisture content varied according to the composition and content of each component in the formulation. Optical micrographs indicated a homogeneous morphology, with good distribution of clay in the matrix. FTIR data confirms the incorporation of OEO into the films. TGA analysis indicated that the thermal stability of the films was not significantly affected by the incorporation of C30B and OEO. OEO incorporation did not promote an efficient antimicrobial action which is probably due to its retention by the clay. Further studies are needed to confirm this hypothesis. The combination between C30B and OEO in the PLA polymeric matrix is a promising proposal.

Resumo Estudaram-se as melhores condições de hidrólise da sacarose in vitro a partir da invertase de Candida guilliermondii (ICg), também se determinou os parâmetros cinéticos KM, Vmax e a estabilidade térmica da ICg. A levedura Candida guilliermondii (Cg) extraída, isolada e liofilizada de resíduo de pêssego foi identificada usando o método API 20C AUX. Posteriormente, a levedura Cg foi submetida a um processo de autólise, usando NaHCO3 a 200 mM sob agitação a 200 rpm e 40°C, por período de 24 horas. Os extratos enzimáticos obtidos foram recuperados por precipitação com acetona seguido de diálise e cromatografia de troca iônica. O extrato purificado por precipitação com acetona teve a atividade de 27,7 U.mg-1 e 56% de recuperação, sendo que, por cromatografia, obtiveram-se 46,5 U.mg-1 e 44,8%. As condições ótimas na hidrólise da sacarose foram pH de 5,0 e 50°C, apresentando KM de 30,5/mM e 28,7 mM de sacarose, respectivamente, a 25°C e a 50°C, ambas com comportamento Michaeliano. A inativação térmica da ICg mostrou uma cinética aparente de primeira ordem, e sua atividade residual foi tipicamente linear entre 40°C - 70°C. Por meio de eletroforese, foram detectadas três isoenzimas.

Abstract The best conditions for in vitro sucrose hydrolysis based on invertase from Candida guilliermondii (ICg) were studied and the kinetic parameters KM,Vmax, and thermal stability of ICg were determined. Candida guilliermondii (Cg) yeast isolated and lyophilized from peach solid wastes was identified using the API 20C AUX method. Subsequently, the Cg was submitted to an autolysis process using NaHCO3 at 200 mM under 200 rpm stirring and 40 °C for 24 h. The enzyme extracts obtained were recovered through precipitation with acetone followed by dialysis and ion-exchange chromatography. The extract purified through precipitation with acetone had activity of 27.7 U.mg-1 and 56% recovery whereas the chromatography process yielded 46.5 U.mg-1 and 44.8%. The optimal sucrose hydrolysis conditions were pH 5.0 and 50 °C, resulting in KM of 30.5 mM and 28.7 mM sucrose, respectively, at 25 °C and 50 °C, both with Michaelian behavior. Thermal inactivation of ICg exhibited first-order apparent kinetics and its residual activity was typically linear between 40 °C and 70 °C. Three isoenzymes were detected through electrophoresis.

Abstract Objective: To analyze patients’ pain perception requiring endodontic treatment referred to a Dental Specialties Center. Material and Methods: Data was collected through a self-administered questionnaire for patients about their experience of pain and another for endodontists about the treatment performed. The results were analyzed descriptively using Pearson’s Chi-square test and Fisher’s Exact test, with Bonferroni correction (p≤0.05). Results: The median age of the patients was 39 years, and 71.1% were female. The median waiting time for treatment was five months. Pain was reported by 75.2% of patients, occurred more than one month earlier (63.6%), with moderate/severe intensity (66.9%), and most patients sought emergency treatment more than once (79.1%). In addition, pain was associated with sex (female; p=0.008); moderate/severe intensity (p<0.001); the number of times that patient had to go to the dentist because of the tooth treatment (twice or more; p=0.002); and type of tooth treated (posterior tooth; p=0.002). Conclusion: Severe pain episodes resulted in a repeated search for emergency services, which may overload the primary care service, especially if the waiting time for endodontic treatment is long.
