ABSTRACT: This study described the pathological aspects of a metastatic grade II simple tubulopapillary mammary carcinoma in a free-living senile female maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus). The diagnosis was based on histopathological findings of malignant epithelial cells arranged in tubular and papillary patterns, with marked anisocytosis and anisokaryosis and metastases to regional lymph nodes, lungs, parietal pleura, and pericardium. Also associated to positive immunolabeling of neoplastic cells for Cytokeratin AE1/AE3 and negative for P63, Calponin and Cox-2, added to the cell proliferation index of 26.8%. The findings demonstrated that free-ranging wild canids develop mammary neoplasms similar to those observed in domestic canids.

RESUMO: Este estudo descreve os aspectos patológicos de um carcinoma mamário simples túbulo-papilar metastático grau II em um lobo-guará, fêmea, senil de vida livre. O diagnóstico foi baseado nos achados histopatológicos de células malignas epiteliais arranjadas em um padrão tubular e papilar, com acentuada anisocitose e anisocariose e metástases para os linfonodos regionais, pulmão, pleura parietal e pericárdio. Também associado a marcação imuno-histoquímica positiva das células neoplásicas para Citoqueratina AE1/AE3 e negativas para P63, Calponina e Cox-2, somado ao índice de proliferação celular de 26,8%. Os achados demonstram que canídeos silvestres de vida livre podem desenvolver neoplasias mamárias similares às observadas em canídeos domésticos.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: In the surgical correction of large incisional hernias, the use of a prosthesis is essential in most cases regardless of the technique chosen. The preference is for the polypropylene prosthesis. AIMS: To compare the onlay and Rives-Stoppa techniques in the correction of incisional hernias, their immediate results, complications, advantages, and disadvantages. METHODS: Two groups of patients with incisional hernias were analyzed, submitted to the onlay (19 patients) and Rives-Stoppa (17 patients) techniques, and that used polypropylene prostheses. General epidemiological variables, perioperative data variables, and postoperative complications were assessed. RESULTS: The patients’ epidemiologic profile was similar between both groups. The majority were women (58.4%), with a mean age of 65.5 years and a previous mean body mass index of 41.5 kg/m². The Rives-Stoppa technique was employed in most patients (52.7%). Those submitted to the onlay technique had longer abdominal drainage time and longer hospital stay, as well as a higher incidence of seromas and surgical wound infection. CONCLUSIONS: The incisional herniorrhaphy technique with the placement of a pre-peritoneal polypropylene mesh by the Rives-Stoppa technique was superior to the onlay due to lower rates of drain use, hospital stay, and postoperative complications.

RESUMO RACIONAL: Na correção cirúrgica das grandes hérnias incisionais, independente da técnica escolhida, na maioria das vezes, o uso de uma prótese é imprescindível. A preferência é pelas próteses de polipropileno. OBJETIVOS: Comparar a técnicas onlay e Rives-Stoppa na correção de hérnias incisionais, os seus resultados imediatos, as complicações, as vantagens e desvantagens. MÉTODOS: Foram analisados dois grupos de portadores de hérnias incisionais, submetidos à técnica onlay (19 pacientes) e técnica Rives-Stoppa (17 pacientes), utilizando prótese de polipropileno. As variáveis gerais epidemiológicas, variáveis de dados perioperatórios e complicações pós-operatórias foram analisados. RESULTADOS: O perfil epidemiológico dos pacientes foi semelhante entre os grupos, a maioria eram mulheres (58.4%), com média de idade de 65.5 anos e com índice de massa corpórea (IMC) médio prévio de 41,5kg/m². A técnica de Rives-Stoppa foi utilizada na maioria dos pacientes (52.7%). Pacientes submetidos a técnica onlay apresentaram maior tempo de uso de dreno abdominal e maior tempo de internação hospitalar, além de maior incidência de seromas e infecção de ferida operatória. CONCLUSÕES: A técnica de herniorrafia incisional com colocação de tela de polipropileno pré-peritoneal, pela técnica de Rives-Stoppa apresentou-se superior à técnica onlay, devido menor taxa de uso de drenos, menor taxa de tempo de internação hospitalar, bem como menor taxa de complicações pós-operatórias.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to characterize the outline of a project for health education and its contributions to the propagation of information on the Instagram social network. Methods: exploratory and descriptive research on an Instagram profile called “@resenhadasaude”;. Data collection: from July 23, 2020, to April 21, 2021. Interaction metrics were generated on 36 posts. Simple and percentage statistical analysis were applied. Results: there are 1,016 followers in Brazil, with a 206.02% growth. The largest audience is teenagers, young people, and women, with a gender difference of 41.8%. The greatest interest was about covid-19, sexual health, and drugs. Followers’ misconceptions reinforce the need for the dissemination of quality information. Conclusions: Instagram metrics point to the project’s validation in terms of audience interest, mostly adolescents and youth. Instagram proved to be powerful for educational purposes and information dissemination, as well as an autonomous field for nursing.

RESUMEN Objetivos: caracterizar perfil de un proyecto de educación en salud y suyas contribuciones a la difusión de información en la red social Instagram. Métodos: investigación exploratoria y descriptiva sobre un perfil del Instagram denominado “@resenhadasaude”;. Recogida de datos: de 23 de julio de 2020 a 21 de abril de 2021. Generadas métricas de interacción sobre 36 publicaciones. Aplicado análisis estadístico simple y porcentual. Resultados: son 1.016 seguidores en Brasil, con crecimiento de 206,02%. Mayor público es adolescente, joven y femenino, con diferencia entre los géneros de 41,8%. Mayor interés fue sobre covid-19, salud sexual y drogas. Equívocos de conocimiento de seguidores refuerzan la necesidad de difusión de informaciones de calidad. Conclusiones: las métricas del Instagram apuntan la validación del proyecto en términos de interés del público, mayoritariamente de adolescentes y jóvenes. El Instagram se mostró potente para fines educativos y difusión de información, así como campo autónomo para a enfermería.

Abstract Objective To evaluate clinical characteristics and outcomes of COVID-19 patients infected with HIV, and to compare with a paired sample without HIV infection. Methods This is a substudy of a Brazilian multicentric cohort that comprised two periods (2020 and 2021). Data was obtained through the retrospective review of medical records. Primary outcomes were admission to the intensive care unit, invasive mechanical ventilation, and death. Patients with HIV and controls were matched for age, sex, number of comorbidities, and hospital of origin using the technique of propensity score matching (up to 4:1). They were compared using the Chi-Square or Fisher's Exact tests for categorical variables and the Wilcoxon for numerical variables. Results Throughout the study, 17,101 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, and 130 (0.76%) of those were infected with HIV. The median age was 54 (IQR: 43.0;64.0) years in 2020 and 53 (IQR: 46.0;63.5) years in 2021, with a predominance of females in both periods. People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and their controls showed similar prevalence for admission to the ICU and invasive mechanical ventilation requirement in the two periods, with no significant differences. In 2020, in-hospital mortality was higher in the PLHIV compared to the controls (27.9% vs. 17.7%; p = 0.049), but there was no difference in mortality between groups in 2021 (25.0% vs. 25.1%; p > 0.999). Conclusions Our results reiterate that PLHIV were at higher risk of COVID-19 mortality in the early stages of the pandemic, however, this finding did not sustain in 2021, when the mortality rate is similar to the control group.

Abstract Introduction The deficiency of ADA2 (DADA2) is a rare autoinflammatory disease provoked by mutations in the ADA2 gene inherited in a recessive fashion. Up to this moment there is no consensus for the treatment of DADA2 and anti-TNF is the therapy of choice for chronic management whereas bone marrow transplantation is considered for refractory or severe phenotypes. Data from Brazil is scarce and this multicentric study reports 18 patients with DADA2 from Brazil. Patients and methods This is a multicentric study proposed by the Center for Rare and Immunological Disorders of the Hospital 9 de Julho - DASA, São Paulo - Brazil. Patients of any age with a confirmed diagnosis of DADA2 were eligible for this project and data on clinical, laboratory, genetics and treatment were collected. Results Eighteen patients from 10 different centers are reported here. All patients had disease onset at the pediatric age (median of 5 years) and most of them from the state of São Paulo. Vasculopathy with recurrent stroke was the most common phenotype but atypical phenotypes compatible with ALPS-like and Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) was also found. All patients carried pathogenic mutations in the ADA2 gene. Acute management of vasculitis was not satisfactory with steroids in many patients and all those who used anti-TNF had favorable responses. Conclusion The low number of patients diagnosed with DADA2 in Brazil reinforces the need for disease awareness for this condition. Abstract This study sought to analyze the practice of physical activity (PA) among university students, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and associated factors. This is a cross-sectional study with an analytical approach, carried out with 857 university students enrolled in higher education institutions in Montes Claros, in the state of Minas Gerais. Data collection was carried out using the Google forms, which was shared via social networks, containing questions regarding sociodemographic profile, physical activity, clinical factors, and behavioral and health habits. A descriptive exploratory analysis of the data was carried out, with frequency distribution of the study variables. Subsequently, bivariate analyses were performed and the associated variables with up to a level of 20% (p ≤ 0.20) were selected for multiple analysis using Poisson Regression. The prevalence non-practice of PA during the pandemic was of 56.8% among college students. Variables, such as being with a partner (PR=1.28), presence of respiratory diseases (PR=1.17), negative self-perception of health (PR=1.37), increased consumption of ultra-processed foods (PR=1.29), and presence of depression (PR=1.21), showed statistically significant associations with the practice of physical activity. We concluded that the non-practice of PA in university students during the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with marital status, presence of respiratory diseases, negative self-perception of health, increased consumption of ultra-processed foods, and presence of depression.

Resumo Este estudo buscou analisar a prática de atividade física entre universitários durante a pandemia de COVID19, e os fatores associados. Trata-se de estudo transversal de abordagem analítica, realizado com 857 universitários matriculados em instituições de ensino superior de Montes Claros-Minas Gerais. A coleta de dados foi realizada através do formulário Google forms, divulgado por redes sociais, contendo perguntas referentes ao perfil sociodemográfico, prática de atividade física, fatores clínicos, hábitos comportamentais e de saúde. Realizou-se análise descritiva exploratória dos dados, com distribuição de frequências das variáveis do estudo. Em seguida foram realizadas análises bivariadas e as variáveis associadas até o nível de 20% (p ≤ 0,20) foram selecionadas para a análise múltipla através da Regressão de Poisson. A prevalência de ausência da prática de AF durante a pandemia foi de 56,8% entre os universitários. Variáveis como estar com companheiro (RP=1,28), presença de doenças respiratórias (RP=1,17), autopercepção negativa da saúde (RP=1,37), aumento do consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados (RP=1,29) e presença de depressão (RP=1,21) demonstraram associações estatisticamente significativas com a prática de atividade física. Neste estudo, observou-se elevada prevalência de universitários que não praticam AF durante o isolamento social, sendo associado a diversos fatores, como o estado conjugal, à presença de doenças, hábitos alimentares e a autopercepção do estado de saúde. Dessa forma, tais características podem subsidiar intervenções com o intuito de incentivar hábitos saudáveis e sobretudo, promover a prática de AF como promoção a saúde física e mental.

Abstract Background Despite no evidence showing benefits of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine with or without azithromycin for COVID-19 treatment, these medications have been largely prescribed in Brazil. Objectives To assess outcomes, including in-hospital mortality, electrocardiographic abnormalities, hospital length-of-stay, admission to the intensive care unit, and need for dialysis and mechanical ventilation, in hospitalized COVID-19 patients who received chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine, and to compare outcomes between those patients and their matched controls. Methods A retrospective multicenter cohort study that included consecutive laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients from 37 Brazilian hospitals from March to September 2020. Propensity score was used to select matching controls by age, sex, cardiovascular comorbidities, and in-hospital use of corticosteroid. A p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results From 7,850 COVID-19 patients, 673 (8.6%) received hydroxychloroquine and 67 (0.9%) chloroquine. The median age in the study group was 60 years (46 - 71) and 59.1% were women. During hospitalization, 3.2% of patients presented side effects and 2.2% required therapy discontinuation. Electrocardiographic abnormalities were more prevalent in the chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine group (13.2% vs. 8.2%, p=0.01), and the long corrected QT interval was the main difference (3.6% vs. 0.4%, p<0.001). The median hospital length of stay was longer in the HCQ/CQ + AZT group than in controls (9.0 [5.0, 18.0] vs. 8.0 [4.0, 14.0] days). There was no statistical differences between groups in intensive care unit admission (35.1% vs. 32.0%; p=0.282), invasive mechanical ventilation support (27.0% vs. 22.3%; p=0.074) or mortality (18.9% vs. 18.0%; p=0.682). Conclusion COVID-19 patients treated with chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine had a longer hospital length of stay, when compared to matched controls. Intensive care unit admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, dialysis and in-hospital mortality were similar.

Resumo Fundamento Apesar da ausência de evidência mostrando benefícios da hidroxicloroquina e da cloroquina combinadas ou não à azitromicina no tratamento da covid-19, esses medicamentos têm sido amplamente prescritos no Brasil. Objetivos Avaliar desfechos, incluindo moralidade hospitalar, alterações eletrocardiográficas, tempo de internação, admissão na unidade de terapia intensiva, e necessidade de diálise e de ventilação mecânica em pacientes hospitalizados com covid-19 que receberam cloroquina ou hidroxicloroquina, e comparar os desfechos entre aqueles pacientes e seus controles pareados. Métodos Estudo multicêntrico retrospectivo do tipo coorte que incluiu pacientes com diagnóstico laboratorial de covid-19 de 37 hospitais no Brasil de março a setembro de 2020. Escore de propensão foi usado para selecionar controles pareados quanto a idade, sexo, comorbidades cardiovasculares, e uso de corticosteroides durante a internação. Um valor de p<0,05 foi considerado estatisticamente significativo. Resultados Dos 7850 pacientes com covid-19, 673 (8,6%) receberam hidroxicloroquina e 67 (0,9%) cloroquina. A idade mediana no grupo de estudo foi 60 (46-71) anos e 59,1% eram mulheres. Durante a internação, 3,2% dos pacientes apresentaram efeitos adversos e 2,2% necessitaram de interromper o tratamento. Alterações eletrocardiográficas foram mais prevalentes no grupo hidroxicloroquina/cloroquina (13,2% vs. 8,2%, p=0,01), e o prolongamento do intervalo QT corrigido foi a principal diferença (3,6% vs. 0,4%, p<0,001). O tempo mediano de internação hospitalar foi maior no grupo usando CQ/HCQ em relação aos controles (9,0 [5,0-18,0] vs. 8,0 [4,0-14,0] dias). Não houve diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os grupos quanto a admissão na unidade de terapia intensiva (35,1% vs. 32,0%; p=0,282), ventilação mecânica invasiva (27,0% vs. 22,3%; p=0,074) ou mortalidade (18,9% vs. 18,0%; p=0,682). Conclusão Pacientes com covid-19 tratados com cloroquina ou hidroxicloroquina apresentaram maior tempo de internação hospitalar, em comparação aos controles. Não houve diferença em relação a admissão em unidade de terapia intensiva, necessidade de ventilação mecânica e mortalidade hospitalar.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the clinical profile, pain improvement, and the need for surgical interventions in patients undergoing transforaminal block with the use of corticosteroids and anesthetics. Methods: This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind study with 45 patients with unilateral radicular pain in their lower limbs and a single-segment lumbar disc herniation diagnosis. In the intervention group, transforaminal blocks with bupivacaine, dexamethasone, and clonidine were applied and in the control group, distilled water and bupivacaine. The Oswestry questionnaire was applied. Results: We included 24 female (53.4%) and 21 male patients (46.6%). Of those with an occupation, 85.71% (n = 30) were relieved from their duties due to their illness and 14.29% (n = 5) continued to work with limitations. Those who underwent transforaminal block with an injection of corticosteroids, clonidine, and anesthetics showed immediate relief. However, such effect failed to alleviate patients’ symptoms after three weeks. We observed that 52% of patients showed varying degrees of improvement. The control group experienced mild pain relief after one week, which also failed to last after three weeks. Moreover, 50% of patients improved in varying degrees. Conclusion: Further studies with larger samples, new epidemiological data, and longer follow-ups are necessary to validate our hypotheses. Level of Evidence II, Prospective Study.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar o perfil clínico, a melhora da dor e a necessidade de intervenções cirúrgicas em pacientes submetidos ao bloqueio transforaminal com uso de corticosteroides e anestésicos. Métodos: Estudo prospectivo, randomizado e duplo-cego realizado com 45 pacientes com dor radicular unilateral em membros inferiores e diagnóstico de hérnia discal lombar em um único segmento. No grupo intervenção, os bloqueios transforaminais foram feitos com bupivacaína, dexametasona e clonidina; no controle, água destilada e bupivacaína. Foi aplicado questionário de Oswestry. Resultados: A amostra foi composta de 24 mulheres (53,4%) e 21 homens (46,6%). Dos pacientes com ocupação, 85,71% (n = 30) estavam afastados de suas funções devido à doença e 14,29% (n = 5) continuavam a trabalhar com limitações. Os que foram submetidos ao bloqueio transforaminal com injeção de corticoide, clonidina e anestésico apresentaram alívio imediato. Após três semanas, contudo, o efeito não perdurou de forma tão satisfatória, e 52% dos pacientes apresentaram melhora em graus variados. No grupo controle, houve discreto alívio álgico após uma semana, que não perdurou de forma satisfatória após três semanas, com 50% dos pacientes evoluindo para melhora em graus variados. Conclusão: Mais estudos com espaço amostral maior, novos dados epidemiológicos e seguimento mais prolongado são necessários para validar as hipóteses aventadas. Nível de Evidência II, Estudo Prospectivo.

RESUMO Objetivo: Linfo-histiocitose hemofagocítica (LHH) é uma síndrome caracterizada pela hiperativação de linfócitos T citotóxicos, células natural killer e macrófagos, levando à secreção de citocinas pró-inflamatórias. Linfo-histiocitose hemofagocítica associada a Leishmaniose Visceral é um quadro de grande desafio para o diagnóstico, considerando que os sintomas são semelhantes, podendo levar ao óbito pacientes não tratados. Nosso objetivo é descrever uma série de casos de Leishmaniose Visceral com LHH admitidos em um hospital de referência para doenças infecciosas. Descrição do caso: Todos os 115 casos de Leishmaniose Visceral encaminhados ao centro de referência em doenças infecciosas pediátricas foram revistos para identificar os casos de LHH. Cinco casos (4,5%) foram confirmados com LHH e apresentaram febre, esplenomegalia, citopenia, hipertrigliceridemia ou hipofibrinogenemia, aumento de ferritina e hemafagocitose em medula óssea. Comentários: Deve-se suspeitar de LHH em crianças com doenças infecciosas que não respondem adequadamente ao tratamento ou em pacientes com sintomas graves, principalmente em áreas endêmicas da leishmaniose.%

ABSTRACT Objective: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis syndrome (HLHS) is characterized by an immunological hyperactivation of cytotoxic T cells, natural killer cells, and macrophages, leading to the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines. HLHS associated with Visceral Leishmaniasis might be difficult to diagnose once symptoms are similar, resulting in the death of untreated patients. Our aim is to describe a series of cases of Visceral Leishmaniasis with HLHS admitted to a referral hospital for infectious diseases. Case description: All 115 cases of Visceral Leishmaniasis referred to a referral center for pediatric infectious diseases were reviewed to identify the cases of HLHS. Five cases (4.5%) were confirmed with HLHS and they presented fever, splenomegaly, cytopenia, hypertriglyceridemia or hypofibrinogenemia, increased ferritin and hemophagocytosis in the bone marrow. Comments: It important to rule out HLHS in children with infectious diseases that do not respond adequately to treatment or in patients with severe symptoms, especially in leishmaniasis endemic areas.%

Apresentamos uma revisão de como as Supernovas do Tipo Ia (SN Ia) são utilizadas em Cosmologia para estimar parâmetros dos modelos cosmológicos. Em específico, discutimos como elas ajudaram na mudança de paradigma observada na virada do século passado para este: o Universo está em expansão acelerada. Para isso, discutiremos como delimitar parâmetros cosmológicos, em especial o parâmetro de desaceleração, com a definição de um tipo de distância em cosmologia, que é calculada conhecendo a luminosidade de objetos astrofísicos. Desenvolvemos um software para ser utilizado em conjunto com este artigo por professores em suas aulas ou orientações, bem como por estudantes em seus estudos individuais. O SimECosmo, acrônimo para Simulador para o Ensino de Cosmologia, possui interface com usuário e permite a visualização de como os parâmetros cosmológicos afetam as previsões dos modelos, comparando com dados de SN Ia das compilações Union 2.1 e Pantheon Sample.

We present a review of how Type Ia Supernovae (SN Ia) are used in cosmology to estimate cosmological models parameters. In particular, we discuss how they helped with the paradigm shift observed at the turn of the last century to this one: the Universe is in an accelerated expansion rate. For this, we will discuss how to delimit cosmological parameters, especially the deceleration parameter, with the definition of a type of distance in cosmology, which is calculated knowing the luminosity of astrophysical objects. We developed a software to be used with this article by teachers in their classes or orientations, as well as by students in their individual studies. The SimECosmo, acronym for Simulador para o Ensino de Cosmologia, has a user interface and allows the visualization of how cosmological parameters affect model predictions, comparing with SN Ia data from the Union 2.1 and Pantheon Sample compilations.

ABSTRACT Despite substantial progress toward its control, Chagas disease continues to be a major public health problem in Latin America and has become a global health concern. The disease affects approximately 6 million people, of whom 20-40% will develop cardiomyopathy over the years after the initial Trypanosoma cruzi infection. Chagas cardiomyopathy is the most serious and frequent manifestation of Chagas disease. Clinical manifestations vary widely according to the severity of myocardial dysfunction, ranging from asymptomatic to severe forms, including dilated cardiomyopathy with heart failure, arrhythmias, thromboembolism events, and sudden death. Chagas disease is a risk factor for stroke regardless of the severity of cardiomyopathy, which is a leading cause of chronic disability. Classically, stroke etiology in patients with Chagas disease is thought to be cardioembolic and related to apical aneurysm, mural thrombus, and atrial arrhythmias. Although most strokes are thromboembolic, other etiologies have been observed. Small vessel disease, atherosclerosis, and cryptogenic diseases have been reported in patients with Chagas disease and stroke. The potential mechanisms involved in non-embolic strokes include the presence of associated risk factors, pro-inflammatory and prothrombotic disease states, and endothelial dysfunction. However, the contribution of each mechanism to stroke in Chagas disease remains unclear. The review aims to provide an overview of stroke in Chagas disease, highlighting the main pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical presentation, approaches for prevention, and unanswered questions regarding treatment strategies.

ABSTRACT Patients with Chagas disease have reduced health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Hence, we aimed to identify the factors that mostly affected their HRQoL. This was a systematic review of qualitative studies. The Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Excerpta Medica Database, Web of Science, and SciVerse Scopus databases were searched for relevant studies without language or date restrictions. The search and data analysis were performed by independent reviewers; all qualitative studies that reported the factors that had an impact on the HRQoL of patients with Chagas disease were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program Qualitative Study Checklist; confidence in the evidence was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation-Confidence in the Evidence from Reviews of Qualitative approach. Five studies were included in this review: four in Brazil and one in California, United States, with immigrants from Central and South America. The sample consisted of 207 patients with chronic Chagas disease. Stigma, physical limitations, work absenteeism, emotional or mental aspects, fear of treatment, and fear of the future had the strongest impact on the HRQoL. All items showed moderate confidence except for fear of treatment (low confidence). The physical, emotional, mental, and cultural aspects affected the HRQoL of patients with chronic Chagas disease. Identification of these factors is important in the development of strategies aimed at improving the HRQoL of this population.

Resumen La búsqueda de la reducción del tiempo y de la subjetividad humana en el análisis del potencial fisiológico de las semillas ha planteado como alternativa el uso de sistemas informáticos. El objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar la efectividad del equipo GroundEye en la caracterización del vigor de semillas de soja mediante la técnica de análisis de imágenes en comparación con la información proporcionada por las pruebas de vigor recomendadas para semillas de soja. Se utilizaron dieciséis lotes de dos variedades de soja, la variedad 98Y12 y P98Y70, caracterizaron por las siguientes pruebas: prueba de germinación, ensayo de envejecimiento acelerado, prueba de frío, prueba de tetrazolio, y emergencia de plántulas en el campo. El análisis de imágenes se realiza mediante el software GroundEye para obtener el índice de vigor y la longitud promedio de plántulas y raíces para su posterior comparación con los resultados de la prueba de envejecimiento acelerado y la medición manual de la longitud promedio de plántulas y raíces. GroundEye ha demostrado eficiencia en la determinación del vigor de semillas de soja y ha reducido el tiempo necesario para obtener los resultados en seis días, siendo indicado en los programas de control de calidad establecidos por las empresas productoras de semillas de soja.

Abstract The search for time and human subjectivity reduction in the analysis of the physiologic potential of seeds has brought forward the use of computerized systems as an alternative. The goal of this research was to assess the effectiveness of the GroundEye equipment in the characterization of soybean seeds vigor by using the image analysis technique in comparison to the information provided by vigor tests recommended to soybean seeds. Sixteen lots of two soybean varieties were used - variety 98Y12 and P98Y70, characterized by the following tests: germination test, accelerated ageing test, cold test, tetrazolium test, and seedling emergence in the field. The image analysis was performed using the GroundEye software to obtain the vigor index and the average length of seedlings and roots for a later comparison with the results of the accelerated ageing test and the manual measurement of the average length of seedlings and roots. GroundEye has demonstrated efficiency in the determination of vigor of soybean seeds and has reduced the time needed to obtain the results in six days, being indicated in the quality control programs established by soybean seeds production companies.

RESUMO O estudo teve por objetivo desenvolver e validar conteúdo e aparência de um checklist para avaliação do desempenho do Sistema de Informação de Imunização brasileiro nas salas de vacinação. Trata-se de um estudo metodológico com abordagem quantitativa, que conduziu a validação de conteúdo e aparência dos itens de um checklist, estruturado em duas dimensões, estrutura e processo. A técnica Delphi foi utilizada para a validação dos itens segundo os critérios de relevância, objetividade e clareza. Foi calculado o índice de validação de conteúdo e o coeficiente alfa de Cronbach para analisar a consistência interna do checklist. O checklist é composto por 7 itens na dimensão estrutura e 17 na dimensão processo, este subdividido em 3 componentes: gestão do sistema de informação de imunização; registro do vacinado; movimento dos imunobiológicos. Considerando as duas dimensões, o índice de validação de conteúdo total do checklist foi 89,6 %. Obteve-se na dimensão estrutura um índice de validade de conteúdo médio de 89,9 % e 89,2 % na dimensão processo, sendo obtido no componente gestão do Sistema de Informação de Imunização um índice de validade de conteúdo médio de 86,2 %; 92,6 % no Registro do vacinado e 88,9 % no movimento dos imunobiológicos. O checklist mostrou-se consistente internamente, apresentado um valor para o alfa de Cronbach total de 0,97 e valores de 0,86 e 0,97 para as dimensões estrutura e processo, respectivamente. Quanto à validação de aparência, o instrumento foi considerado inteligível. O estudo fornece um checklist com conteúdo e aparência válidos para avaliar o desempenho do Sistema de Informação de Imunização brasileiro e subsidia a supervisão e o monitoramento das funcionalidades deste sistema nas salas de vacinação.

ABSTRACT The study aimed to develop and validate the content and appearance of a checklist to evaluate the performance of the Brazilian Immunization Information System in vaccination rooms. It is a methodological study with a quantitative approach, which led to the validation of the content and appearance of the items in a checklist, structured in two dimensions: structure and process. The Delphi technique was used to validate the items according to the criteria of relevance, objectivity and clarity. The content validation index and Cronbach's alpha coefficient were calculated to analyze the internal consistency of the checklist, which consists of 7 items in the structure dimension and 17 in the process dimension, and is subdivided into 3 components: management the immunization information system; registry of the vaccinated and movement of immunobiologicals. Considering the two dimensions, the total content validation rate of the checklist was 89.6%. In the structure dimension, an average content validation index was 89.9; 89.2% was obtained in the processes dimension, and 86.2% in the management component of the Immunization Information System; 92.6% in the registry of vaccinated and 88.9% in the immunobiological movement. The checklist proved to be internally consistent, with a total Cronbach's alpha value of 0.97 and values of 0.86 and 0.97 for the structure and process dimensions, respectively. Regarding the validation of the appearance, the instrument was considered intelligible. The study provides a checklist with valid content and appearance to evaluate the performance of the Brazilian Immunization Information System and supports the supervision and monitoring of the functionalities of this system in the vaccination rooms.

RESUMEN El estudio tuvo como objetivo desarrollar y validar el contenido y la apariencia de una lista de verificación para evaluar el desempeño del Sistema de Información de Inmunización del Brasil en las salas de vacunación. Se trata de un estudio metodológico con enfoque cuantitativo, que condujo a la validación de contenido y apariencia de los ítems en una lista de verificación, estructurada en dos dimensiones: estructura y proceso. Se utilizó la técnica Delphi para validar los ítems según los criterios de relevancia, objetividad y claridad. Se calcularon el índice de validación de contenido y el coeficiente alfa de Cronbach para analizar la consistencia interna de la lista de verificación, la cual consta de 7 ítems en la dimensión estructura y 17 en la dimensión proceso, y se subdivide en 3 componentes: gestión del sistema de información de inmunización; registro del vacunado y movimiento de inmunobiológicos. Considerando las dos dimensiones, el índice de validación de contenido total de la lista de verificación fue del 89,6 %. En la dimensión estructura se obtuvo un índice de validación de contenido promedio de 89,9 y 89,2 % en la dimensión de procesos, y de 86,2 % en el componente de gestión del Sistema de Información de Inmunización; 92,6 % en el registro de vacunados y 88,9 % en el movimiento de inmunobiológicos. La lista de verificación demostró ser consistente internamente, con un valor para el alfa de Cronbach total de 0,97 y valores de 0,86 y 0,97 para las dimensiones de estructura y proceso, respectivamente. En cuanto a la validación de la apariencia, el instrumento se consideró inteligible. El estudio proporciona una lista de verificación con contenido y apariencia válidos para evaluar el desempeño del Sistema de Información de Inmunización brasileño y apoya la supervisión y el seguimiento de las funcionalidades de este sistema en las salas de vacunación.
