Abstract Background: Psoriasis is associated with several comorbidities and its association with thyroid abnormality has been hypothesized. Objective: To assess the prevalence of thyroid abnormality in Brazilian patients with psoriasis and to analyze its association with severity, presence of psoriatic arthritis and immunobiological treatment. Additionally, to compare results with literature as a control. Methods: In this observational study, clinical and laboratory data of patients followed from January 2018 to December 2019 were analyzed. Thyroid abnormality was assessed through the current history of thyroid disease and laboratory tests – thyrotropin (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4), antithyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) and antithyroglobulin (anti-TG) antibodies. Patients were classified according to psoriasis severity – Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), presence of psoriatic arthritis, and current treatment. Subsequently, the results were compared with a control group selected from the literature review. Results: Of the 250 included patients, 161 were eligible. The prevalence of thyroid abnormality was 28.57% and of hypothyroidism, 14.91%. The mean age was 55 years and the median PASI was 2.2. There was no association between thyroid abnormality and PASI (p = 0.8), presence of psoriatic arthritis (p = 0.87), or use of immunobiological therapy (p = 0.13). The literature control group included 6,227 patients and there was a statistically significant difference for the hypothyroidism variable (p < 0.0001).

Resumo Um macho de Pteronura brasiliensis (Carnivora: Mustelidae) foi encontrado morto às margens do Rio Negro, no Pantanal do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, município de Aquidauana. Dois carrapatos encontrados aderidos à sua pele foram identificados, morfologicamente, como uma ninfa de segundo ínstar de Ornithodoros rostratus (Argasidae) e um macho de Amblyomma sculptum (Ixodidae). Para complementar a identificação morfológica, esses espécimes de carrapatos foram submetidos à extração de DNA e testados por meio de ensaios de PCR, para confirmar a identidade molecular dos espécimes. Além disso, os extraídos dos carrapatos foram testados e revelaram-se negativos nos ensaios de PCR para todos os patógenos testados. Também foram examinados 30 lotes, compostos por 174 indivíduos de O. rostratus, depositados na Coleção Acari do Instituto Butantan, e encontramos material de quatro estados brasileiros, incluindo-se um lote contendo 2 machos e 2 fêmeas de Aquidauana, estado de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), coletado do solo. Este foi, portanto, o primeiro registro de O. rostratus parasitando P. brasiliensis e o primeiro registro de localidade (Aquidauana). Da mesma forma, A. sculptum é comumente encontrado no Pantanal e relatado aqui, pela segunda vez, parasitando a ariranha, hospedeiro pouco estudado em relação a ectoparasitas.

Abstract A male of Pteronura brasiliensis (Carnivora: Mustelidae) was found dead on the banks of the Rio Negro, in the Pantanal wetlands of Mato Grosso do Sul state, Aquidauana municipality. Two ticks found attached to its skin were morphologically identified as a second-instar nymph of Ornithodoros rostratus (Argasidae) and a male of Amblyomma sculptum (Ixodidae). In order to complement the morphological identification, these tick specimens were subjected to DNA extraction, and tested using PCR assays to confirm the molecular identity the specimens. Also, the tick DNA samples were tested and were negative in the PCR assays for all the pathogens tested. We also examined 30 batches, consisting of 174 individuals of O. rostratus deposited in the Acari Collection of the Butantan Institute, and we found material from four Brazilian states, including one batch containing 2 males and 2 females from Aquidauana, of Mato Grosso do Sul state, collected from the soil. This was therefore the first record of O. rostratus parasitizing P. brasiliensis and the first locality record (Aquidauana). Likewise, A. sculptum is commonly found in the Pantanal and is reported here for the second time parasitizing the giant otter, which is a host little studied regarding the ectoparasites.

Abstract In the modern world, cancer is a growing cause of mortality, but archeological studies have shown that it is not exclusive to modern populations. The aim of this study is to examine the epidemiologic, social, and clinicopathologic features of head and neck cancers in ancient populations. To do this, we extracted all records that described malignant lesions in the head and neck region available in the Cancer Research in Ancient Bodies Database (CRAB). The estimated age, sex, physical condition of the remains (skeletonized, mummified), anatomic location of tumors, geographic location, chronology, tumor type, and methods of tumor diagnosis were collected. One hundred and sixty-seven cases were found, mostly originating from Europe (51.5%). Most records were of adults between 35 and 49 years of age (37.7%). The most involved site was the skullcap (60.4%), and the most common malignancies were metastases to the bone (65.3%) and multiple myeloma (17.4%). No primary soft tissue malignancies were registered. The results of our study indicate that head and neck cancers were present in ancient civilizations, at least since 500,000 BCE. The available data can help to improve the current understanding of the global distribution of head and neck cancer and its multidimensional impacts on populations in the contemporary world.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to verify the effect of the application of filter cake, via soil and in association with mineral fertilization, on sunflower cultivars (Helianthus annuus L.) and the chemical properties of the soil. The experimental design used was randomized blocks in a 3 × 2 factorial scheme with six replicates, totaling 36 experimental units. Three sunflower cultivars (Sany 66, Nusol 4140, and Nusol 4170) and two fertilization strategies (mineral fertilization with and without filter cake) were used. Resorting to the filter cake increased the oil concentration in Sany 66. Mineral fertilization did not significantly affect achene production, with mean values being 2561.58 kg ha-1. However, including filter cake resulted in a 21% increase in phosphorus (P) content in the 0-0.20 m soil layer in sunflower crops of the Nusol 4140 variety. Therefore, fertilization with filter cake, in combination with chemical fertilizers or alone, can be an effective strategy to increase soil P content and oil concentration in sunflower cultivation.

RESUMO Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar o efeito da aplicação de torta de filtro, via solo e em associação com a fertilização mineral, em cultivares de girassol (Helianthus annuus L.) e nas propriedades químicas do solo. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 3 × 2, com seis repetições, totalizando 36 unidades experimentais. Foram utilizadas três cultivares de girassol (Sany 66, Nusol 4140 e Nusol 4170) e duas estratégias de fertilização (fertilização mineral com e sem torta de filtro). O uso da torta de filtro aumentou a concentração de óleo na cultivar Sany 66. A fertilização mineral não afetou a produção de aquênios, sendo obtido valores médios de 2561,58 kg ha-1. No entanto, a inclusão da torta de filtro resultou em um aumento de 21% no teor de fósforo (P) na camada de solo de 0-0,20 m em cultivos de girassol da variedade Nusol 4140. Portanto, a fertilização com torta de filtro, em combinação com fertilizantes químicos ou isoladamente, pode ser uma estratégia eficaz para aumentar o teor de P no solo e a concentração de óleo no cultivo de girassol.

Um episódio de compulsão alimentar (CA) é caracterizado pela ingestão de uma quantidade de alimento maior do que a maioria das pessoas consumiria em condições semelhantes, em um período determinado. Portanto, este estudo tem como finalidade analisar o comportamento de compulsão alimentar respondendo a duas questões centrais: (1) que crenças favorecem o comportamento de compulsão alimentar e (2) que crenças dificultam o comportamento de compulsão alimentar. Para tanto, será utilizada como aporte teórico e metodológico a Teoria da Ação Planejada que, além de nos fornecer instrumentos que possam avaliar esse comportamento, pode contribuir com o desenvolvimento de intervenções que visem prevenir e melhorar a saúde física e mental das pessoas que realizam essa prática. 80 participantes responderam de forma on-line a um questionário semiestruturado a respeito das crenças sobre o comportamento de compulsão alimentar. Os dados foram organizados e analisados pelo software IRAMUTEQ, que permite apresentar o conteúdo das crenças por meio de relações entre categorias de pensamentos e suas formas mais frequentes. Foram identificadas crenças que retratam sentimentos associados à CA; à assistência que pessoas neste contexto recebem; os aspectos negativos do comportamento; os motivos que levam a prática da CA; e os fatores que facilitam a realização do comportamento. Os achados desse estudo sugerem a importância de intervenções que abarquem a relevância da: 1) avaliação que os indivíduos têm do comportamento da CA; 2) os fatores individuais, motivacionais e emocionais que favorecem a prática desse comportamento; 3) a percepção dos indivíduos a respeito da pressão externa para realização dessa ação. A utilização do IRAMUTEQ se mostrou extremamente relevante para a construção dos resultados, visto que, a partir da organização dos repertórios de crenças em classes e de suas conexões, foi possível estabelecer um diálogo entre a base teórica da investigação e as conclusões apontadas no estudo.

An episode of binge eating (BE) is characterized by eating a larger amount of food than most people would consume under similar conditions, in a given period. Therefore, this study aims to analyze binge eating behavior by answering two central questions: (1) What beliefs favor binge eating behavior and (2) What beliefs hinder binge eating behavior. To this end, the Theory of Planned Action will be used as a theoretical and methodological contribution, which, in addition to providing us with instruments that can assess this behavior, can contribute to the development of interventions aimed at preventing and improving the physical and mental health of people who carry out this practice. 80 participants answered a semi-structured questionnaire online about beliefs about binge eating behavior. Data were organized and analyzed using the IRAMUTEQ software, which allows presenting the content of beliefs through relationships between categories of thoughts and their most frequent forms. Beliefs that portray feelings associated with BE were identified; the assistance that people in this context receive; the negative aspects of behavior; the reasons that lead to the practice of BE; and the factors that facilitate the performance of the behavior. The findings of this study suggest the importance of interventions that encompass the relevance of: 1) assessment that individuals have of the behavior of BE; 2) the individual, motivational and emotional factors that favor the practice of this behavior; 3) the perception of individuals regarding the external pressure to carry out this action. The use of IRAMUTEQ proved to be extremely relevant for the construction of the results, since from the organization of the repertoires of beliefs in classes and their connections, it was possible to establish a dialogue between the theoretical basis of the investigation and the conclusions pointed out in the study.

ABSTRACT Objectives: To validate the homeostasis model assessment (HOMA) of insulin resistance (IR) as a surrogate to the hyperglycemic clamp to measure IR in both pubertal and postpubertal adolescents, and determine the HOMA-IR cutoff values for detecting IR in both pubertal stages. Subjects and methods: The study sample comprised 80 adolescents of both sexes (aged 10-18 years; 37 pubertal), in which IR was assessed with the HOMA-IR and the hyperglycemic clamp. Results: In the multivariable linear regression analysis, adjusted for sex, age, and waist circumference, the HOMA-IR was independently and negatively associated with the clamp-derived insulin sensitivity index in both pubertal (unstandardized coefficient – B = −0.087, 95% confidence interval [CI] = −0.135 to −0.040) and postpubertal (B = −0.101, 95% CI, −0.145 to −0.058) adolescents. Bland-Altman plots showed agreement between the predicted insulin sensitivity index and measured clamp-derived insulin sensitivity index in both pubertal stages (mean = −0.00 for pubertal and postpubertal); all P > 0.05. The HOMA-IR showed a good discriminatory power for detecting IR with an area under the receiver operator characteristic curve of 0.870 (95% CI, 0.718-0.957) in pubertal and 0.861 (95% CI, 0.721-0.947) in postpubertal adolescents; all P < 0.001. The optimal cutoff values of the HOMA-IR for detecting IR were > 3.22 (sensitivity, 85.7; 95% CI, 57.2-98.2; specificity, 82.6; 95% CI, 61.2-95.0) for pubertal and > 2.91 (sensitivity, 63.6; 95% CI, 30.8-89.1, specificity, 93.7; 95%CI, 79.2-99.2) for postpubertal adolescents. Conclusion: The threshold value of the HOMA-IR for identifying insulin resistance was > 3.22 for pubertal and > 2.91 for postpubertal adolescents.

RESUMO: O objetivo foi avaliar o efeito dos níveis de fertilização nitrogenada na produtividade e no valor nutritivo do BRS Kurumi quando manejado em diferentes alturas de resíduos durante os períodos seco e chuvoso do ano. O capim foi manejado em três alturas de resíduos (20, 35 e 50 cm) em associação com três níveis de fertilização com nitrogênio (0, 100 e 200 kg N/ha/ ano), durante o período seco e chuvoso do ano. Quando a altura do capim de cada parcela atingiu 80 cm, o Kurumi foi cortado nas alturas de resíduos pré-estabelecidas. Cerca de 89% da produção de MS foi observada durante o período chuvoso. A altura do resíduo de 35 cm juntamente com doses de 100 ou 200 kg N/ha/ ano, e a altura do resíduo de 20 cm, com dose de 100 kg N/ha/ ano foram os tratamentos que apresentaram maior produção de MS durante o período chuvoso. Não foram observadas diferenças na produção de MS entre os tratamentos testados durante o período da seca. O Kurumi cultivado no período da seca apresentou maior teor de fibra em detergente neutro e menor digestibilidade. O Kurumi manejado com alturas de resíduo de 20 e 35 cm e fertilizado com 100 kg N/ha apresentou os maiores valores de eficiência de utilização do nitrogênio aplicado. Recomenda-se a utilização de 20 ou 35 cm de altura do resíduo e 100 kg de N/ha/ ano para obter maior produção de biomassa e nutrientes, qualidade nutricional e eficiência no uso do nitrogênio.

ABSTRACT: The objective was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen fertilization levels on productivity, and nutritional value of BRS Kurumi managed at different residue heights during rainy and dry periods of the year. The pasture was managed in three residue heights (20, 35, and 50 cm) and three nitrogen fertilization levels (0, 100, and 200 kg N/ha/year) during the rainy and dry seasons. When the height of the grass of each plot reached 80 cm, the Kurumi was cut manually at the pre-established residue heights. Around 89% of the dry matter (DM) production was observed during the rainy season. The residue height of 35 cm together with doses of 100 or 200 kg N/ha/year, and the residue height of 20 cm, with a dose of 100 kg N/ha/year were the treatments that had the highest DM production during the rainy period. No differences in DM production were observed between tested treatments during the dry period. The Kurumi cultivated during the dry period had the highest content of neutral detergent fiber and lowest digestibility. The Kurumi managed with residue heights of 20 and 35 cm and fertilized with 100 kg N/ha had the highest values of efficiency of utilization applied nitrogen. The use of 20 or 35 cm of residue height and 100 kg of N/ha/year is recommended to obtain greater biomass production and nutrients, nutritional quality, and nitrogen use efficiency.

Resumo: A Rede de Cuidados à Pessoa com Deficiência (RCPCD) foi implantada em 2012 como desdobramento das ações do Plano Viver sem Limite, sendo objeto de pesquisas recentes, entretanto, não foram encontrados estudos de avaliação do grau de implantação dessa rede. O objetivo deste artigo foi avaliar o grau de implantação da RCPCD em oito estados nas cinco regiões geográficas brasileiras. Realizou-se estudo de casos múltiplos mediante pesquisa avaliativa do grau de implantação da RCPCD nos estados/casos: Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul e São Paulo. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se um modelo lógico da política e uma matriz de medidas. O grau de implantação de sete estados foi classificado como moderado, somente o Amazonas obteve grau de implantação incipiente. Foram identificadas diferenças importantes na avaliação de cada fase desse processo, as fases de diagnóstico regional e adesão à rede obtiveram grau de implantação de moderado a avançado na maioria dos estados. Na fase da contratualização dos serviços, nenhum estado alcançou o grau avançado de implantação e a fase de acompanhamento e monitoramento da RCPCD basicamente não ocorreu em todos os estados. A matriz de medidas permite avaliar o grau de implantação da RCPCD. Ainda, o reconhecimento dos resultados do grau de implantação pelos grupos condutores e áreas técnicas estaduais referendou o uso desse instrumento. Salienta-se a necessidade de ações para o aprimoramento dessa implantação, tais como: fortalecer a regionalização, instituir grupos condutores regionais, garantir mecanismos de contratualização e definir critérios para certificação dos pontos de atenção.

Resumen: La Red de Atención a Personas con Discapacidad (RCPCD) se implementó en 2012 en el Sistema Único de Salud como resultado de las acciones del Plan Vivir sin Límite, y es objeto de una investigación reciente; sin embargo, no hay estudios de evaluación del grado de implementación de esta red. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el grado de implementación de la RCPCD en ocho estados de las cinco regiones geográficas brasileñas. Se realizó un estudio de caso múltiple mediante una investigación evaluativa sobre el grado de implementación de la RCPCD en los estados/casos: Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul y São Paulo. Para ello, se elaboraron un modelo lógico de la política y una matriz de medidas. El grado de implementación de siete estados se clasificó como moderado, solamente Amazonas obtuvo un grado de implementación incipiente. Se identificaron diferencias importantes en la evaluación de cada fase de este proceso, las fases de diagnóstico regional y adhesión a la red lograron un grado de implementación de moderado a avanzado en la mayoría de los estados. En la fase de contratación de los servicios, ningún estado alcanzó el nivel avanzado de implementación, y la fase de seguimiento y monitoreo de la RCPCD básicamente no se realizó en todos los estados. La matriz de medidas permite evaluar el grado de implementación de la RCPCD, y el reconocimiento de los resultados del grado de implementación por parte de los grupos de dirección y el área técnica de los estados avaló su uso. Son necesarias más acciones para mejorar esta implementación, tales como: fortalecer la regionalización, establecer grupos de dirección regional, garantizar mecanismos de contratación y definir criterios para la certificación de puntos de atención.

Abstract: The Care Network for People with Disabilities (RCPCD) was implemented in 2012 as a consequence of the actions of the Viver sem Limite (Living without Limits) plan and has been the research object of recent studies. However, no published studies address the degree of implementation of this network. This study aimed to evaluate the degree of implementation of the RCPCD in eight states in the five regions of Brazil. This multiple case study performed evaluative research of the degree of implementation of the RCPCD in the states of Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo. A logical model of the policy and a measurement matrix were developed. The degree of implementation of seven states was moderate, but Amazonas had an incipient degree of implementation. The evaluation of each stage of the process showed important differences, as the regional diagnosis and network adhesion stages presented moderate to advanced degrees of implementation in most states. In the service contracting stage, no state had an advanced degree of implementation, and the stage of follow-up and monitoring of the RCPCD was not even reached. The measurement matrix helps evaluate the degree of implementation of the RCPCD, and, by recognizing its results, the state steering groups and technical area recommend its use. Actions to improve this implementation, such as strengthening regionalization, establishing regional steering groups, ensuring contracting mechanisms, and defining criteria for certification of the care points, are necessary.

Abstract Objective Pain is the primary limitation to performing hysteroscopy. We aimed to evaluate the predictive factors of low tolerance to office hysteroscopic procedures. Methods Retrospective cohort study of the patients who underwent office hysteroscopy from January 2018 to December 2020 at a tertiary care center. Pain tolerance to office-based hysteroscopy was subjectively assessed by the operator as terrible, poor, moderate, good, or excellent. Categorical variables were compared with the use of the Chi-squared test; an independent-samples t-test was conducted to compare continuous variables. Logistic regression was performed to determine the main factors associated with low procedure tolerance. Results A total of 1,418 office hysteroscopies were performed. The mean age of the patients was 53 ± 13.8 years; 50.8% of women were menopausal, 17.8% were nulliparous, and 68.7% had a previous vaginal delivery. A total of 42.6% of women were submitted to an operative hysteroscopy. Tolerance was categorized as terrible or poor in 14.9% of hysteroscopies and moderate, good, or excellent in 85.1%. A terrible or poor tolerance was more frequently reported in menopausal women (18.1% vs. 11.7% in premenopausal women, p = 0.001) and women with no previous vaginal delivery (18.8% vs. 12.9% in women with at least one vaginal birth, p = 0.007). Low tolerance led more often to scheduling a second hysteroscopic procedure under anesthesia (56.4% vs. 17.5% in reasonable-to-excellent tolerance, p < 0.0005). Conclusion Office hysteroscopy was a well-tolerated procedure in our experience, but menopause and lack of previous vaginal delivery were associated with low tolerance. These patients are more likely to benefit from pain relief measures during office hysteroscopy.

Abstract Background Patients with chronic renal failure may have their oral health impaired as a result of the disease itself, its treatment, and its associated lifestyle alterations. Objective To assess the factors associated with poor self-rated oral health among adults with chronic renal failure treated by hemodialysis. Method This is a cross-sectional study with 243 adults undergoing hemodialysis in a hospital in Minas Gerais, Brazil in 2013-2014. The outcome was assessed by the self-report of oral health categorized into good (excellent/good) and bad (fair/bad / very bad). The independent variables included sociodemographic conditions, general health, oral health, and the use of dental services were collected through a structured questionnaire. The association between the outcome and the independent variables was tested using multiple logistic models with hierarchical inclusion of variables. Results The prevalence of poor self-rated oral health was 35.4%. The youngest (p = 0.015), those who have undergone hemodialysis in the shortest time (p = 0.016), have halitosis (p <0.001), need dental treatment (p <0.001), and had their last dental appointment not for pain (p = 0.027) expressed higher odds of poor self-rated oral health, independently of sociodemographic and health conditions. Conclusion Sociodemographic conditions, time on hemodialysis, oral impairments, and use of dental services affected the oral health self-assessment among adults undergoing hemodialysis.

Resumo Introdução Pacientes com insuficiência renal crônica podem apresentar prejuízos em sua saúde bucal em decorrência da própria doença, do tratamento e das alterações de estilo de vida associadas. Objetivo Avaliar os fatores associados à autoavaliação de saúde bucal ruim entre adultos com insuficiência renal crônica submetidos à hemodiálise. Método Estudo transversal com 243 adultos submetidos à hemodiálise em um hospital do sul de Minas Gerais nos anos de 2013 e 2014. O desfecho foi avaliado pelo autorrelato da condição bucal dicotomizada em boa (ótima/boa) e ruim (regular/ruim/péssima). As variáveis independentes incluíram condições sociodemográficas, saúde geral, saúde bucal e uso de serviços odontológicos, a partir de informações coletadas por meio de questionário. A associação entre o desfecho e as variáveis independentes foi testada por meio de modelos logísticos múltiplos com inclusão hierarquizada de variáveis. Resultados A prevalência de autoavaliação de saúde bucal ruim foi de 35,4%. Os mais jovens (p = 0,015), os que se submetem à hemodiálise há menos tempo (p = 0,016), têm halitose (p <0,001), necessitam de tratamento odontológico (p <0,001) e tiveram a última consulta odontológica por motivo diferente de dor (p = 0,027) expressaram maiores chances de autoavaliação de saúde bucal ruim, independentemente de condições sociodemográficas e de saúde. Conclusão Condições sociodemográficas, tempo em hemodiálise, agravos à saúde bucal e uso de serviços odontológicos influenciaram a autoavaliação da saúde bucal dos adultos submetidos à hemodiálise.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the quality of information about Molar incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) on YouTubeTM. Material and Methods: Only videos in Portuguese aimed at dentists were included. The selected videos were analyzed by two calibrated evaluators, who extracted the information (classification, etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of MIH) and the quality was evaluated through a 20-point-checklist, according to the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry and European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Descriptive analysis and statistical tests were applied to assess the association (ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis) or correlation (Spearman) between the final scores of the videos and their demographics. Results: Nineteen videos with 13.8±4.76 mean points were considered eligible. Most of the videos did not report the possible involvement of other groups of teeth (n=12), presence of atypical restorations (n=8) and hypersensitivity (n=7); and the different treatments for MIH were very variable. Twelve videos discussed differential diagnosis and 78.95% possible etiological factors; however, all of them presented clinical images. Data related to the video source and viewer interaction were not related to its quality (p>0.05). The number of likes (r=0.26), views (r=0.34) and video time (=0.58) show a weak and moderate correlation, respectively, with video score. Conclusion: Videos on YouTubeTM about MIH presented moderate or high quality, with heterogeneous information, and can act as a complementary aid source of information.

This multiple case study performed evaluative research of the degree of implementation of the RCPCD in the states of Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo. A logical model of the policy and a measurement matrix were developed. The degree of implementation of seven states was moderate, but Amazonas had an incipient degree of implementation. The evaluation of each stage of the process showed important differences, as the regional diagnosis and network adhesion stages presented moderate to advanced degrees of implementation in most states. In the service contracting stage, no state had an advanced degree of implementation, and the stage of follow-up and monitoring of the RCPCD was not even reached. The measurement matrix helps evaluate the degree of implementation of the RCPCD, and, by recognizing its results, the state steering groups and technical area recommend its use. Actions to improve this implementation, such as strengthening regionalization, establishing regional steering groups, ensuring contracting mechanisms, and defining criteria for certification of the care points, are necessary.

Resumen: La Red de Atención a Personas con Discapacidad (RCPCD) se implementó en 2012 en el Sistema Único de Salud como resultado de las acciones del Plan Vivir sin Límite, y es objeto de una investigación reciente; sin embargo, no hay estudios de evaluación del grado de implementación de esta red. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el grado de implementación de la RCPCD en ocho estados de las cinco regiones geográficas brasileñas. Se realizó un estudio de caso múltiple mediante una investigación evaluativa sobre el grado de implementación de la RCPCD en los estados/casos: Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul y São Paulo. Para ello, se elaboraron un modelo lógico de la política y una matriz de medidas. El grado de implementación de siete estados se clasificó como moderado, solamente Amazonas obtuvo un grado de implementación incipiente. Se identificaron diferencias importantes en la evaluación de cada fase de este proceso, las fases de diagnóstico regional y adhesión a la red lograron un grado de implementación de moderado a avanzado en la mayoría de los estados. En la fase de contratación de los servicios, ningún estado alcanzó el nivel avanzado de implementación, y la fase de seguimiento y monitoreo de la RCPCD básicamente no se realizó en todos los estados. La matriz de medidas permite evaluar el grado de implementación de la RCPCD, y el reconocimiento de los resultados del grado de implementación por parte de los grupos de dirección y el área técnica de los estados avaló su uso. Son necesarias más acciones para mejorar esta implementación, tales como: fortalecer la regionalización, establecer grupos de dirección regional, garantizar mecanismos de contratación y definir criterios para la certificación de puntos de atención.

Resumo: A Rede de Cuidados à Pessoa com Deficiência (RCPCD) foi implantada em 2012 como desdobramento das ações do Plano Viver sem Limite, sendo objeto de pesquisas recentes, entretanto, não foram encontrados estudos de avaliação do grau de implantação dessa rede. O objetivo deste artigo foi avaliar o grau de implantação da RCPCD em oito estados nas cinco regiões geográficas brasileiras. Realizou-se estudo de casos múltiplos mediante pesquisa avaliativa do grau de implantação da RCPCD nos estados/casos: Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Sul e São Paulo. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se um modelo lógico da política e uma matriz de medidas. O grau de implantação de sete estados foi classificado como moderado, somente o Amazonas obteve grau de implantação incipiente. Foram identificadas diferenças importantes na avaliação de cada fase desse processo, as fases de diagnóstico regional e adesão à rede obtiveram grau de implantação de moderado a avançado na maioria dos estados. Na fase da contratualização dos serviços, nenhum estado alcançou o grau avançado de implantação e a fase de acompanhamento e monitoramento da RCPCD basicamente não ocorreu em todos os estados. A matriz de medidas permite avaliar o grau de implantação da RCPCD. Ainda, o reconhecimento dos resultados do grau de implantação pelos grupos condutores e áreas técnicas estaduais referendou o uso desse instrumento. Salienta-se a necessidade de ações para o aprimoramento dessa implantação, tais como: fortalecer a regionalização, instituir grupos condutores regionais, garantir mecanismos de contratualização e definir critérios para certificação dos pontos de atenção.

Abstract Objective: to investigate the association between depressive symptoms and physical inactivity in technical-administrative workers from a public university in the Northeast of Brazil. Methods: cross-sectional study. We assessed depressive symptoms and physical activity using, respectively, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. We used Poisson regression analysis, and estimated the prevalence ratios (PR) and their respective 95%CI. Results: 301 workers participated, of which 71.1% were female. The prevalence of depressive symptoms was of 25.7%, and 52.0% of the workers declared being physically inactive. Depressive symptoms and physical inactivity were associated to the effect modifiers “time worked to the institution ≤ 15 years” (PR: 3.03; 95%CI: 1.05;9.16) e “work position at administrative sectors” (PR: 1.90; 95%CI: 1.14;3.18). Conclusion: the results evidence the association between depressive symptoms and physical inactivity in technical-administrative workers of a public university of the state of Bahia. The the main factor associated are time worked to the institution and work position at administrative sectors.

Resumo Objetivo: investigar a associação entre sintomas depressivos e inatividade física em trabalhadores técnico-administrativos de uma universidade pública do Nordeste do Brasil. Métodos: estudo transversal realizado no estado da Bahia. Os sintomas depressivos foram avaliados pelo Patient Health Questionnaire-9 e o nível de atividade física pelo International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Foi realizada análise de regressão de Poisson e estimadas as razões de prevalência (RP) e seus respectivos IC95%. Resultados: 301 servidores participaram do estudo, dos quais 71,1% do sexo feminino. A prevalência de sintomas depressivos foi de 25,7% e 52,0% dos servidores declararam ser fisicamente inativos. Sintomas depressivos e inatividade física se mostraram associados com os modificadores de efeito “tempo de trabalho na instituição ≤ 15 anos” (RP: 3,03; IC95%: 1,05;9,16) e “lotação em setores administrativos” (RP: 1,90; IC95%: 1,14;3,18). Conclusão: os resultados evidenciam a associação entre sintomas depressivos e inatividade física em trabalhadores técnico-administrativos de uma universidade pública do estado da Bahia, tendo como principais fatores associados o tempo de trabalho na instituição e a lotação do servidor.

Abstract Objective: To identify and assess the current evidence available about the costs of managing hospitalized pediatric patients diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Parainfluenza Virus Type 3 (PIV3) in upper-middle-income countries. Methods: The authors conducted a systematic review across seven key databases from database inception to July 2022. Costs extracted were converted into 2022 International Dollars using the Purchasing Power Parity-adjusted. PROSPERO identifier: CRD42020225757. Results: No eligible study for PIV3 was recovered. For RSV, cost analysis and COI studies were performed for populations in Colombia, China, Malaysia, and Mexico. Comparing the total economic impact, the lowest cost per patient at the pediatric ward was observed in Malaysia ($ 347.60), while the highest was in Colombia ($ 709.66). On the other hand, at pediatric ICU, the lowest cost was observed in China ($ 1068.26), while the highest was in Mexico ($ 3815.56). Although there is no consensus on the major cost driver, all included studies described that the medications (treatment) consumed over 30% of the total cost. A high rate of inappropriate prescription drugs was observed. Conclusion: The present study highlighted how RSV infection represents a substantial economic burden to health care systems and to society. The findings of the included studies suggest a possible association between baseline risk status and expenditures. Moreover, it was observed that an important amount of the cost is destinated to treatments that have no evidence or support in most clinical practice guidelines.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify factors associated with permission for child vaccination in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Cross-sectional study, with parents/guardians of children aged up to 1 year, 11 months and 29 days, aged 18 years or older, with internet access and residents of the state of Alagoas. The collection was conducted between June 2021 and April 2022, using a structured instrument via Google forms®. Fisher’s Exact and Pearson’s chi-square statistical tests were used. Results: A total of 94 parents/guardians participated. There was an association between permission for child vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic and higher education level of parents/guardians, with the lack of an educational bond with the child, and between parents/guardians who would allow the application of the COVID-19 vaccine. Conclusion: Permission for child vaccination in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic was associated with higher education level of parents/guardians and the absence of educational bond of the child.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Identificar los factores asociados a permitir la vacunación infantil en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19. Método: Estudio transversal, con padres/tutores de niños de hasta 1 año, 11 meses y 29 días, con edad igual o superior a 18 años, con acceso a internet y residentes en el estado de Alagoas. La recolección se realizó entre junio de 2021 y abril de 2022, utilizando un instrumento estructurado a través de Google Forms®. Se utilizaron las pruebas estadísticas Exacto de Fisher y chi-cuadrado de Pearson. Resultados: Participaron 94 padres/tutores. Hubo asociación entre el permiso para la vacunación infantil durante la pandemia de COVID-19 y la escolaridad superior de los padres/tutores, con la falta de vínculo educativo con el niño, y entre los padres/tutores que permitirían la aplicación de la vacuna contra el COVID-19, si disponible. Conclusión: El permiso para la vacunación infantil en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19 se asoció con la educación superior de los padres/tutores y la falta de vínculos educativos para el niño.

RESUMO Objetivo: Identificar os fatores associados à permissão da vacinação infantil no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19. Método: Estudo transversal, com pais/responsáveis de crianças com até 1 ano 11 meses e 29 dias, idade maior ou igual a 18 anos, acesso à internet e residentes no estado de Alagoas. A coleta foi realizada entre junho de 2021 e abril de 2022, por instrumento estruturado via Google Forms®. Utilizou-se os testes estatísticos Exato de Fisher e o Qui-quadrado de Pearson. Resultados: Participaram 94 pais/responsáveis. Houve associação da permissão da vacinação infantil durante a pandemia da COVID-19 com uma maior escolaridade dos pais/responsáveis, com a ausência de vínculo educacional da criança e entre os pais/responsáveis que permitiriam a aplicação da vacina da COVID-19, caso estivesse disponível. Conclusão: A permissão da vacinação infantil no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19 foi associada a maior escolaridade dos pais/responsáveis e a ausência de vinculação educacional da criança.
