O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar efeitos da inclusão de casca de soja em substituição ao feno de alfafa sobre o desempenho, características da carcaça e trato gastrointestinal e parâmetros bioquímicos de coelhos em fase de crescimento. Foram utilizados 30 coelhos da raça Nova Zelândia Branca, divididos igualmente em três tratamentos, compostos pela dieta experimental padrão (sem inclusão de casca de soja); e pelas dietas com 50% e 100% de substituição de alfafa por casca de soja nas respectivas rações experimentais. Concluiu-se que a casca de soja pode ser incluída em dietas para coelhos em crescimento, em substituição ao feno de alfafa em até 100% sem causar danos no desempenho nas características de carcaça e do trato gastrointestinal e parâmetros bioquímicos dos animais, durante a fase de crescimento. Porém, a utilização deste co-produto exige a necessidade de estudos mais aprofundados em virtude da escassez de dados.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of inclusion of soybean hulls in the replacement of alfalfa hay on performance, of growing rabbits. A total of 30 rabbits of New Zealand White kind were divided into three treatments, experimental compounds in the pattern diet (without inclusion of soybean hulls), and the diets with 50% and 100% replacement of alfalfa by soybean hulls in their experimental diets. It was concluded that the soybean hulls can be included on replace of alfafa hulls up 100% in rabbits diets. However, the use of co-product in animal nutrition need more detailed studies because of the paucity of data.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a digestibilidade aparente de farelos vegetais, submetidos ou não a tratamento químico para extração de antinutrientes, em dietas para jundiá (Rhamdia quelen). Foram formuladas três dietas-teste com fontes proteicas na forma comercial sem tratamento - SNT, farelo de soja; CNT, farelo de canola; e GNT, farelo de girassol - e três dietas submetidas a tratamento para redução de ácido fítico, fenóis totais e taninos totais: ST, farelo de soja tratado; CT, farelo de canola tratado; e GT, farelo de girassol tratado. Os tratamentos CNT, CT, GNT e GT apresentaram menor digestibilidade aparente da matéria seca. O tratamento ST apresentou maior digestibilidade da proteína bruta que CT e CNT, mas não diferiu dos demais tratamentos. Os tratamentos GNT, GT e CNT apresentaram as menores digestibilidades da matéria orgânica. A remoção de antinutrientes não afeta a digestibilidade aparente de proteína bruta, matéria seca e matéria orgânica dos farelos de soja e girassol, mas melhora a digestibilidade da matéria seca do farelo de canola.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the apparent digestibility of plant-protein meals, subjected or not to antinutrient extraction chemical treatment, in diets for South American catfish (Rhamdia quelen). Three test diets were formulated with protein sources in commercial form without treatment - SNT, soybean meal; CNT, canola meal; and GNT, sunflower meal - and three diets were subjected to treatment for reduction of phytic acid, total phenols, and tannins: ST, treated soybean meal; CT, treated canola meal; and GT, treated sunflower meal. The treatments CNT, CT, GNT, and GT had lower dry matter apparent digestibility. The treatment ST had higher crude protein digestibility than CT and CNT, but it did not differ from the other treatments. GNT, GT, and CNT treatments showed the lowest organic matter digestibility. Antinutrient removal does not affect the apparent digestibility of crude protein, dry matter, and organic matter of soybean and sunflower meal, but improves the dry matter digestibility of canola meal.

O presente trabalho foi realizado no período de 16 de novembro a 28 de dezembro de 2009, totalizando 42 dias. Foram utilizados 36 animais distribuídos em três tratamentos de 12 repetições cada, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Os tratamentos consistiram de TA =dieta sem inclusão de casca de soja (CS); TACS=dieta com inclusão de 50% de casca de soja e TCS=dieta com inclusão de 100% de casca de soja em substituição ao feno de alfafa. As dietas foram isonutritivas, formuladas para atender às necessidades da categoria correspondente, de acordo com o AEC (1987). Foram avaliados os dados de desempenho animal, as características de carcaça e a viabilidade econômica. Os resultados foram submetidos à analise de variância e as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5% de significância, com auxílio do pacote estatístico SAS (2003). Houve diferença para o consumo alimentar e conversão alimentar, já que os animais alimentados com TCS consumiram menos ração que os do TA e apresentaram melhor conversão. Para as características de carcaça, não houve diferença entre os tratamentos, com exceção do peso de pele, que foi superior para os animais alimentados com a dieta TA. O índice de eficiência econômica demonstrou que a casca de soja pode substituir em 100% o feno de alfafa.

The experiment was conducted from November 16 to December 28, 2009, add up 42 days. 36 animals of 35 days old were utilized and assigned to three treatments of 12 repetitions each in experimental design completely randomized. The treatments were: TA=Soybean hulls without; TACS=inclusion soybean hulls 50% and TCS=inclusion soybean hulls 100% substitution of Alfalfa at diet. The diets were isonutritives, formulated by requirement AEC (1987). The avaluated parameters were: performance animal, characteristics carcass and analyze economical. Data were analized by analysis of variance and the average compared by Tukey test (P<0.05). Values differences were detected for average feed intake and feed conversion ratio, where rabbits to feeding diets with TCS had consumption lower that to TA and showed better conversion. For the carcass characteristics effects of inclusion of soybean hulls were no significant, with exception of weight epidermis had higger for animals fed with diet TA. The economical analysis of the results showed that the formulation with soybean hulls will be to substitute the alfafa until 100%.

Este trabalho teve por objetivo estudar a influência da fibra oriunda de diferentes fontes (feno de alfafa, farelo de linhaça e farelo proteinoso de milho) sobre o desempenho, coeficientes de digestibilidade e características da carne de coelhos em crescimento. Os animais foram distribuídos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três tratamentos e oito repetições, sendo uma ração referência e duas rações testes: FA - ração controle, com feno de alfafa; FL - substituição total do feno de alfafa por farelo de linhaça e FP - substituição total do feno de alfafa por farelo proteinoso de milho. Os resultados foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas pelo teste Duncan (P<0,05). A maior quantidade de hemicelulose e a baixa capacidade de hidratação das dietas FA e FP proporcionaram maior peso vivo dos animais aos 89 dias (2123 e 1934 g, respectivamente) contra 1797 g da dieta FL e melhor coeficiente de digestibilidade da MS e MO (média de 80,80 para MS e 81,76% para MO, respectivamente) em relação à dieta FL (73,86 e 75,84%, respectivamente). A dieta FP apresentou maior coeficiente de digestibilidade para a FDN (56,59%) contra a média de 33,11% para as demais dietas. A força de cisalhamento foi menor para a carne dos animais alimentados com FA e FP (1,90 e 1,63 kgf) em comparação com a FL (2,33 kgf) (P<0,05), o que indica carne mais macia. O farelo proteinoso de milho proporcionou peso vivo dos animais aos 89 dias semelhante ao do feno de alfafa. O farelo de linhaça, pela grande quantidade de fibra solúvel e alta capacidade higroscópica, prejudicou o desempenho dos animais e a maciez da carne.

The objective of this paper was to study the influence of fiber fractions from different sources (alfalfa hay, linseed bran and corn gluten meal) on performance, digestibility coefficients and meat characteristics of growing rabbits. The animals were distributed into a completely randomized design with three treatments and eight replications, with one reference and two test diets: AH- control diet, with alfalfa hay; LB- total substitution of alfalfa hay by linseed bran and GM- total substitution of alfalfa hay by corn gluten meal. The data were submitted to variance analysis and the averages were compared by Duncan test (P<.05). The largest amount of hemicellulose and the low hydration capacity of the diets AF and GM proportioned greater animals live weight at 89 days of age (2123 and 1934 g, respectively) versus 1797 g of the animals fed with the diet LB and better digestibility coeficients of DM and OM (average of 80.80 for DM and 81.76% for OM, respectively) in relation to diet LB (73.86 and 75.84%, respectively). The diet GM showed a higher digestibility coefficient of NDF (56.59%) against the average of 33.11% for the other diets. The shear force was lower for meat from animals fed with AH and GM (1.90 and 1.63 kgf) compared to LB (2.33 kgf) (P<.05), which indicates meat tenderness. The corn gluten meal proportioned live weight to the animals at 89 days of age similar to the alfalfa hay. The linseed bran, due to large amount of soluble fiber and high hydration capacity, impaired animal performance and meat tenderness.
