ABSTRACT The intercropping between maize and forage species is an alternative commonly used within farming systems. Competition among crops may be a limiting factor in intercropping, compromising maize and forage yield. Although necessary, the literature does not provide satisfactory answers on the interaction of forage crops launched in the market recently, such as BRS Zuri, intercropped with maize. Therefore, techniques such as the use of herbicide subdoses come in as an option to suppress forage growth, making simultaneous cultivation feasible. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the effects of glyphosate herbicide subdoses on the development of Panicum maximum cv. BRS Zuri intercropped with Roundup Ready® (RR) maize and how this interaction reflects on the weed population, forage yield, and biometric and yield variables of maize. The experimental design was randomized blocks with treatments consisting of six subdoses of glyphosate herbicide (0, 48, 96, 240, 480, and 960 g acid equivalent [a.e.] ha-1) and maize in monoculture with four replications. For the conditions of this study, the dose of 480 g a.e. ha-1 of glyphosate may be an alternative since there was weed suppression and adequate forage development. Maize yield was not affected by the presence of forage.

RESUMO O consórcio entre milho e espécies forrageiras é uma alternativa comumente utilizada dentro dos sistemas agropecuários. A competição entre as culturas pode ser um fator limitante no consórcio, comprometendo a produção do milho e forragem. Embora necessário, a interação de forrageiras lançadas no mercado nos últimos anos, como a BRS Zuri consorciada com a cultura do milho, não fornece respostas satisfatórias na literatura. Por isso, técnicas como a utilização de subdoses de herbicida entra com uma opção a fim de suprimir o crescimento da forrageira, viabilizando o cultivo simultâneo. Assim, objetivou-se no presente estudo avaliar os efeitos de subdoses do herbicida glyphosate sobre o desenvolvimento de Panicum maximum cv. BRS Zuri consorciado com milho RR (Roundup Ready®) e como essa interação reflete na população de plantas daninhas, no rendimento da forrageira e nas variáveis biométricas e produtivas do milho. O delineamento foi em blocos casualizados, cujos tratamentos consistiram em seis subdoses do herbicida glyphosate (0, 48, 96, 240, 480 e 960 g equivalente ácido [e.a.] ha-1), além do milho em monocultivo com quatro repetições. Para as condições do presente estudo, a dose de 480 g e.a. ha-1 de glyphosate pode ser uma alternativa, visto que houve a supressão de plantas daninhas e um adequado desenvolvimento da forragem. Já o rendimento do milho não foi afetado pela presença da forrageira.

Abstract Introduction: There is disagreement between data on sleep duration obtained from questionnaires and objective measurements. Whether this is also true for individuals with CKD is unknown. Here we compared self-reported sleep duration with sleep duration obtained by actigraphy. Methods: This prospective study included adult individuals with stage 3 CKD recruited between September/2016 and February/2019. We evaluated subjective sleep duration by asking the following question: “How many hours of actual sleep did you get at night?” Results: Patients (N=34) were relatively young (51 ± 13 years). Self-reported and measured sleep duration were 7.1 ± 1.7 and 6.9 ± 1.6 hours, respectively, with no correlation between them (p=0.165). Although the mean difference between measurements was 0.21 h, the limits of agreement ranged from -3.7 to 4.1 h. Conclusion: Patients with CKD who are not on dialysis have an erroneous sleep perception. Data on sleep duration should be preferentially obtained from objective measurements in patients with CKD.

Resumo Introdução: Há discordância entre os dados sobre duração do sono obtidos a partir de questionários e medições objetivas. Não se sabe se isto também é verdade para indivíduos com DRC. Aqui comparamos a duração do sono autorrelatada com a duração do sono obtida por meio de actigrafia. Métodos: Este estudo prospectivo incluiu indivíduos adultos com DRC estadio 3 recrutados entre Setembro/2016 e Fevereiro/2019. Avaliamos a duração subjetiva do sono, fazendo a seguinte questão: “Quantas horas de sono real você teve à noite?” Resultados: Os pacientes (N=34) eram relativamente jovens (51 ± 13 anos). A duração do sono autorrelatada e mensurada foi de 7,1 ± 1,7 e 6,9 ± 1,6 horas, respectivamente, sem correlação entre elas (p=0,165). Embora a diferença média entre as medições tenha sido de 0,21 h, os limites de concordância variaram de -3,7 a 4,1 h. Conclusão: Pacientes com DRC que não estão em diálise apresentam uma percepção equivocada do sono. Dados sobre a duração do sono devem ser obtidos preferencialmente a partir de medições objetivas em pacientes com DRC.

Abstract Sudden failure of a mine tailing dam occurred in the municipality of Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on January 25, 2019. Approximately 12 million cubic meters of mine tailings discharged into the Paraopeba River, producing strong environmental and societal impacts, mainly due to a massive increase in turbidity (occasionally exceeding 50,000 Nephelometric Turbidity Units [NTU] (CPRM 2019). Remote sensing is a well-established tool for quantifying spatial patterns of turbidity. However, a few empirical models have been developed to map turbidity in rivers impacted by mine tailings. Thus, this study aimed to develop an empirical model capable of producing turbidity estimates based on images from the Sentinel-2 satellite, using the Paraopeba River as the study area. We found that river turbidity was most strongly correlated with the sensor’s near-infrared band (NIR) (band 8). Thus, we built an empirical single-band model using an exponential function with an (R2 of 0.91) to characterize the spatial-temporal variation of turbidity based on satellite observations of NIR reflectance. Although the role of discharged tailings in the seasonal variation of turbidity is not well understood, the proposed model enabled the monitoring of turbidity variations in the Paraopeba River associated with seasonal resuspension or deposition of mine tailings. Our study shows the capability of single-band models to quantify seasonal variations in turbidity in rivers impacted by mine tailing pollution.

Resumo O uso inadequado de acaricidas sintéticos selecionou populações resistentes de Rhipicephalus microplus. O presente estudo avaliou a compatibilidade de diferentes propágulos de Metarhizium spp. (conídios, blastosporos e microscleródios), incubando-os com acaricidas sintéticos (amitraz, deltametrina e uma combinação de cipermetrina, clorpirifós e citronelal) por 1 h, 5 h, 10 h e 24 h. Conídios e microescleródios dos isolados testados foram geralmente mais tolerantes a acaricidas sintéticos do que os blastosporos. Este estudo também analisou o efeito in vitro da deltametrina associada a propágulos fúngicos no controle de uma população de fêmeas de R. microplus não suscetíveis a este acaricida sintético. O uso de fungos entomopatogênicos em associação com deltametrina, nesta população de carrapatos, causou maior controle do carrapato do que o uso do fungo ou acaricida sintético isoladamente.

Abstract The inappropriate use of synthetic acaricides has selected resistant Rhipicephalus microplus populations. The present study evaluated the compatibility of different Metarhizium spp. propagules (conidia, blastospores, and microsclerotia) by incubating them with synthetic acaricides (amitraz, deltamethrin, and a combination of cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos, and citronellal) for 1 h, 5 h, 10 h, and 24 h. Conidia and microsclerotia of the tested isolates were usually more tolerant to synthetic acaricides than blastospores. Our study also analyzed the in vitro effect of deltamethrin associated with fungal propagules for controlling a population of R. microplus females that were not susceptible to this synthetic acaricide. The use of entomopathogenic fungi in association with deltamethrin in this tick population caused a greater tick control than did the use of the fungus or the synthetic acaricide separately.

Abstract This study investigated whether increased food intake after 15 days of low-protein, high-carbohydrate (LPHC) and its normalization in the later period of development change the content of key proteins related to leptin or adiponectin signaling in the hypothalamus. Male rats were divided into five groups: Control groups received a control diet (17% protein, 63% carbohydrate) for 15 (C15) or 45 (C45) days; LPHC groups received an LPHC diet (6% protein, 74% carbohydrate) for 15 (LPHC15) or 45 (LPHC45) days; and Reverse group (R): received LPHC diet for 15 days followed by control diet for another 30 days. The LPHC15 group showed increased adiposity index, leptin level, and adiponectin level, as well as decreased the leptin receptor (ObRb) and pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) content in the hypothalamus compared with the C15 group. LPHC diet for 45 days or diet reversion (R group) rescued these alterations, except the adiponectin level in LPHC45 rats, which was higher. In summary, LPHC diet reduced hypothalamic leptin action by diminishing ObRb and POMC levels, leading to hyperphagia and adiposity body. Medium-term administration of LPHC diet or reverting to control diet restored the levels of these proteins, thereby improving body lipid mass rearrangement in adulthood.

Abstract Objectives: To evaluate seroconverted asymptomatic COVID-19 in pediatric Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases (ARDs) patients and to identify the risk factors related to contagion. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in March 2021, before vaccination of children and adolescents in Brazil, including 77 pediatric ARDs patients, followed at a tertiary hospital and 45 healthy controls, all of them without a previous diagnosis of COVID-19. Data was obtained by a questionnaire with demographic data, symptoms compatible with COVID-19 over the previous year, and contact with people with confirmed COVID-19. Patient’s medical records were reviewed to access data regarding disease and current medications. A qualitative immunochromatographic SARS-CoV-2 test was performed on all participants. Results: Patients and controls were similar in terms of female gender (70.1% vs. 57.8%, p = 0.173), age (14 vs. 13 years, p = 0.269) and SARS-CoV-2 positive serology (22% vs. 15.5%, p = 0.481). 80.5% of rheumatic patients were in use of immunosuppressive drugs: 27.3% of them used corticosteroids (33.3% in high doses), and 7.8% on immunobiologicals. No statistical differences were found between positive (n = 17) and negative serology (n = 60) patients regarding demographic/socioeconomic data, contact with people with confirmed COVID-19, use and number of immunosuppressive drugs, use and dose of corticosteroids, use of hydroxychloroquine and immunobiological drugs (p > 0.05). Conclusions: Pediatric rheumatic disease patients were infected at the same rate as healthy ones. Neither the underlying pathology nor its immunosuppressive treatment seemed to interfere with contagion risk.

Resumo A Amazônia contém o maior remanescente de floresta contínua do planeta. No Brasil, representa cerca de 45% do território, mas contribui pouco para a economia do país. Este trabalho discute o uso da jutaicica, resina copal extraída de espécies arbóreas do gênero Hymenaea (Fabaceae), produto que já representou parte considerável da economia paraense. Apresentamos uma revisão histórica de seu uso, exploramos como e com que finalidade a resina é extraída e sua caracterização térmica e espectroscópica. No oeste do estado do Pará, a resina jutaicica é obtida principalmente de duas espécies, H. courbaril e H. parvifolia, e no passado era valorizada como matéria prima para a produção de verniz. As resinas dessas espécies são distintas de acordo com métodos térmicos e espectroscópicos. A análise térmica mostra que H. courbaril possui maior conteúdo de matriz polimerizada. Os espectros no infravermelho podem ser usados com precisão para diferenciar as fontes e demonstram maior uniformidade nas amostras de H. courbaril, o que é corroborado pelos espectros 13C-RMN analisados. Jutaicica é um dos muitos produtos florestais não madeireiros que carecem de investimentos em ciência e tecnologia para uma reintegração econômica, uma importante contribuição de renda nas reservas extrativistas, que desempenham um papel fundamental na conservação da Amazônia.

Abstract Amazonia contains the largest remnant of continuous forest on the planet. In Brazil, it represents nearly 45% of the territory but contributes little to the country’s economy. This work discusses the use of jutaicica copal resin extracted from tree species of the genus Hymenaea (Fabaceae), which once represented a considerable part of the economy of Pará state. We present a review of its historical use, explore how and for what purpose the resin is extracted, and characterize it based on thermal and spectroscopic techniques. In western Pará state, jutaicica is gathered mainly from two species, H. courbaril and H. parvifolia, and in the past was used as a valuable source for varnish production. The resins from these species are distinctive according to thermal and spectroscopic methods. Thermal analysis shows H. courbaril might be a better source for polymer gathering. Infrared spectra can be accurately used to differentiate sources and demonstrate more uniformity in samples from H. courbaril, which is corroborated by the 13C-RMN spectra of the analyzed batches. Jutaicica is one of many non-timber forest products lacking investments for economic reintegration, an important contribution of income in extractive reserves, which play a key role in the conservation of Amazonia.

Abstract This paper addresses the influence of the primary and secondary resistances on the behavior of minor hysteresis loops when the electromagnetic device is fed by three-level PWM (pulse width modulation) voltage. To study the device transferring energy to a load, the experimental approaches are different of traditional procedures to material characterization, where problems inherent to the process are added. Analytical, FEM and experimental analysis are performed on a toroidal transformer equipped with a flux sensing coil. The leakage fluxes related to the primary and secondary currents are shown to cause errors in the measurement of the core magnetization current. A solution to mitigate this problem is employed, consisting in twisting and winding together primary and secondary conductors. Experimental methodologies for obtaining the value of the iron losses when the device is transferring energy to a load are also performed. The study shown showed that supply voltage with three-level PWM waveform causes minor hysteresis loops and the greater the resistance value of the excitation winding, the larger the areas of the minor hysteresis loops. On the other hand, by increasing the energy transferring to a load the minor loops areas tend to decrease.

Abstract In this paper, a new optical fiber corrosion sensor based on metallic bilayers is described. The detection region is located at a fiber end facet and we present simulations as well as experimental results in controlled lab conditions for Ti(10 nm)/Al(10 nm) and Ni(5 nm)/Al(5 nm) bilayers. We perform the characterization of the device by numerical simulations using the COMSOL Multiphysics software, and with an analytical model, which makes use of the Fresnel equations. According to the simulations, the change in the reflected optical signal over time is related to variations in the thickness of the metallic films by the corrosive process and, consequently, the corrosion rate in each metal of the bilayer can be obtained. Upon the simulation results, sensor devices were fabricated by depositing thin metallic films on the cleaved facet of the optical fiber using the sputtering method. We show that the use of a metallic bilayer as a transducer, instead of a monolayer, improves the sensor measuring interval (20 ± 1 nm) and provides information about the corrosion rate along the corrosion process.

ABSTRACT Phytogenic additives are organic molecules that also improve ruminal fermentation, turning the supplemented individuals into more productive animals, without damage the population welfare. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of mesquite (Prosopis juliflora [Sw.] DC.) extract as phytogenic additive for sheep finished on pasture in the Brazilian Northeast semiarid region. Twenty-four intact lambs (Santa Ines × Dorper F1 crossbred) were used, with an initial body weight of 23.00 ± 1.83 kg. The experiment was carried out in a complete randomized design with four treatments and six replicates. Treatments consisted of four diets: Pasture and no supplementation; grazing pasture and phytogenic additive; pasture, supplementation with Tifton 85 hay, and concentrate; and pasture, phytogenic additive, and supplementation with Tifton 85 hay and concentrate. Prior to supplementation, animals received the phytogenic additive according to treatment. There were nonsignificant differences for nutrient intake and behavior patterns (P > 0.05). However, additive intake derived from mesquite provided an increase (P < 0.05) in digestibility (14.40% total digestible nutrients), N balance (27.12% retained N:ingested N) and performance (8.82% final body weight, 21.81% total weight gain, and 30.81% average daily gain) compared to animals consuming only pasture in rainy period. Thus, the use of mesquite extract as phytogenic additive is recommended for sheep finished on pasture in the Brazilian semiarid region.

This study compares the techniques cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CV-AFS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for the determination of Hg in biological samples (hepatic tissue from marine tetrapods). Acid digestions were performed for the samples and aliquots of them were analysed by ICP-MS and CV-AFS. To minimize the Hg memory effect in its determination by ICP-MS, gold (200 µg L-1 in 5% v v-1 HCl) was added to the sample digests. The detection limits were 0.02 mg kg-1 for ICP-MS and 0.01 mg kg-1 for CV-AFS. Accuracy was assessed by the calculation of the recovery obtained from TORT-3 (lobster hepatopancreas) certified reference material analysis. Accurate results were obtained for both CV-AFS and ICP-MS. The comparison of the results obtained for hepatic tissue with and without lyophilization showed a significant difference among them (at 95% of confidence level), evidencing losses of Hg in the lyophilization process.

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to determine the effects of age, race/ethnicity, body mass index, and contraception on human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) regression following the evacuation of a molar pregnancy. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study of 277 patients with molar pregnancies between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 2015. The rate of hCG regression was estimated using mixed-effects linear regression models on daily log-transformed serum hCG levels after evacuation. RESULTS: There were no differences in hCG half-lives among age (p=0.13) or race/ethnicity (p=0.16) groups. Women with obesity and hormonal contraceptive use demonstrated faster hCG regression than their counterparts (3.2 versus. 3.7 days, p=0.02 and 3.4 versus. 4.0 days, p=0.002, respectively). CONCLUSION: Age and race/ethnicity were not associated with hCG regression rates. Hormonal contraceptive use and obesity were associated with shorter hCG half-lives, but with unlikely clinical significance. It is important to understand whether the clinical characteristics of patients may influence the hCG regression curve, as it has been proposed as a way to predict the risk of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia.

Resumo Fundamento A obesidade tem sido associada com ativação crônica do sistema renina-angiotensina-aldosterona e importantes alterações no desempenho cardíaco. Objetivo Avaliar a influência do bloqueio de receptores de angiotensina-II do tipo 1 (AT1) sobre a morfologia e desempenho cardíaco de ratos obesos por dieta Métodos Ratos Wistar (n=48) foram submetidos a dieta controle (2,9 kcal/g) ou hiperlipídica (3,6 kcal/g) durante 20 semanas. Após a 16ª semana, foram distribuídos em quatro grupos: Controle (CO), Obeso (OB), Controle Losartan (CL) e Obeso Losartan (OL). CL e OL receberam losartan (30 mg/kg/dia) na água durante quatro semanas. Posteriormente, foram analisadas composição corporal, pressão arterial sistólica (PAS) e ecocardiograma. A função de músculos papilares foi avaliada em situação basal com concentração de cálcio ([Ca2+]o) de 2,50 mM e após manobras inotrópicas: potencial pós-pausa (PPP), elevação da [Ca2+]o e durante estimulação beta-adrenérgica com isoproterenol. A análise dos resultados foi feita por meio de Two-Way ANOVA e teste de comparações apropriado. O nível de significância considerado foi de 5%. Resultados Embora a alteração da PAS não tenha se mantido ao final do experimento, a obesidade se associou com hipertrofia cardíaca e maior velocidade de encurtamento da parede posterior do ventrículo esquerdo.No estudo de músculos papilares em condição basal, CL mostrou menor velocidade máxima de variação negativa da tensão desenvolvida (-dT/dt) do que CO. O PPP de 60s promoveu menor -dT/dt e pico de tensão desenvolvida (TD) em OB e CL, comparados ao CO, e maior variação relativa de TD e velocidade máxima de variação positiva (+dT/dt) no OL em relação a CL e OB. Sob 1,5, 2,0 e 2,5mM de [Ca2+]o, o grupo OL exibiu maior -dT/dt do que CL. Conclusão Losartan melhora a função miocárdica de ratos com obesidade induzida por dieta. Abstract Background Obesity has been associated with chronic activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and with significant changes in cardiac performance. Objective To assess the impact of a blockade of angiotensin-II receptor type 1 (AT1receptor) on morphology and on myocardial functional performance in rats with high-fat diet- induced obesity. Methods Wistar rats (n=48) were submitted to control (2.9 kcal/g) or high-fat (3.6 kcal/g) diet for 20 weeks. After the 16thweek they were divided into four groups: Control (CO), Obese (OB), Control Losartan (CL) and Obese Losartan (OL). CL and OL received losartan (30 mg/kg/day) in drinking water for four weeks. Subsequently, body composition, systolic blood pressure (SBP) and echocardiographic variables were analyzed. Papillary muscle function was assessed at baseline with 2.50 mM calcium concentration ([Ca2+]o) and after inotropic maneuvers: post-pause potentiation (PPP), [Ca2+]oelevation, and during beta-adrenergic stimulation with isoproterenol. Analysis of the results was performed by the Two-Way ANOVA and by the appropriate comparison test. The level of significance was set at 5%. Results Although SBP change had been not maintained at the end of the experiment, obesity was associated with cardiac hypertrophy and with increased left ventricle posterior wall shortening velocity. In the study of papillary muscles in basal condition, CL showed lower developed tension maximum negative variation velocity (-dT/dt) than CO. The 60s PPP promoted lower -dT/dt and maximum developed tension (DT) in OB and CL compared with CO, and higher relative DT variation and maximum positive variation velocity (+dT/dt) in OL compared with CL and OB. Under 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5mM [Ca2+]o, the OL group showed higher -dT/dt than CL. Conclusion Losartan improves myocardial function in high-fat diet-induced obesity. (Arq Bras Cardiol. 2020;115(1):17-28)

Abstract Exposing timber to temperatures approaching 200 °C causes thermal modification and changes its characteristics. This study evaluates the effect of various levels of thermal treatment on the physical properties of juvenile and mature wood from rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis). Boards taken from 53-year-old rubber trees were thermally modified at up to 220 °C. Thermal treatment caused decreases on the oven-dried density, equilibrium moisture content, and swellings on juvenile and mature woods of H. brasiliensis. Influence of thermal modification at 180-200 °C in juvenile wood was lower than in mature wood, whereas the treatment at 220 °C caused a greater variation in properties of juvenile wood. The thermally modified wood is a suitable product for use in environments with high levels of relative humidity.

RESUMO: A ferrugem-asiática da soja é uma das doenças mais destrutivas que ocorre na cultura. Seu controle é baseado, principalmente, na aplicação de fungicidas. O objetivo foi avaliar a sensibilidade de isolados de P. pachyrhizi a fungicidas. Os ensaios foram realizados em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com seis repetições. Por meio de teste de folíolos destacados de soja, foram avaliadas as sensibilidades de doze isolados do fungo a fungicidas sítio-específicos e multissítios, nas concentrações de 0,1; 1,0; 10,0 e 100,0 mg L-1, mais uma testemunha sem fungicida (0,0 mg L-1). Os folíolos de soja foram imersos nas devidas soluções fungicida, dispostos em câmaras úmidas em caixas gerbox e inoculados com as devidas suspensões de esporos de P. pachyhrizi (5,0x104 uredosporos mL-1). As caixas foram incubadas durante 20 dias, em temperatura de 23 oC e fotoperíodo de 12 h. Em seguida, avaliou-se o número de urédias cm-2 da face abaxial de cada folíolo. Os ingredientes ativos protioconazol, trifloxistrobina, fluxapiroxade, trifloxistrobina + protioconazol, trifloxistrobina + bixafem + protioconazol, azoxistrobina + benzovindiflupir e azoxistrobina + benzovindiflupir + difenoconazol foram altamente fungitóxicos para a maioria dos isolados, com CE50 menor do que 1,0 mg L-1. Difenoconazol, azoxistrobina e fenpropimorfe foram considerados medianamente fungitóxicos para nove dos doze isolados, com CE50 entre 1 e 10 mg L-1. Os multissítios mancozebe e oxicloreto de cobre apresentaram respostas de CE50 classificadas como pouco tóxicas para os doze isolados do fungo e o clorotalonil para oito deles (CE50 entre 10 e 50 mg L-1). Os fungicidas sítio-específico apresentaram alta a moderada fungitoxicidade aos isolados de P. pachyrhizi oriundos dos distintos locais, enquanto os multissítios apresentaram atividade moderada a pouco tóxica.

ABSTRACT: Asian soybean rust is one of the most destructive diseases that can be found in this crop. It can be largely controlled by fungicide application. The objective was to assess the sensitivity of P. pachyrhizi isolates to fungicides. The tests were performed in a completely randomized design, with six replicates. The sensitivity of twelve isolates to site-specific and multisite fungicides at concentrations of 0.1; 1.0; 10.0, and 100.0 mg L-1, plus a control with absence of fungicide (0.0 mg L-1) was assessed. Soybean leaflets were immersed in the appropriate fungicide solutions, disposed in wet chambers in plastic boxes, and inoculated using each uredinia suspension of P. pachyhrizi (5.0 x 104 uredospores mL-1), separately. Boxes were incubated for 20 days at a temperature of 23°C and a 12-hour photoperiod. Next, the number of uredinia per cm2 on the abaxial face of each leaflet was evaluated. The active ingredients prothioconazole, trifloxystrobin, fluxapiroxade, trifloxystrobin + prothioconazole, trifloxystrobin + bixafen + prothioconazole, azoxystrobin + benzovindiflupyr, and azoxystrobin + benzovindiflupyr + diphenoconazole were highly fungitoxic for the majority of the isolates, with EC50 lower than 1.0 mg L-1. Diphenoconazole, azoxystrobin, and fenpropimorph were considered moderately fungitoxic for nine of the twelve isolates, with EC50 between 1 and 10 mg L-1. The multisites mancozeb and copper oxychloride presented EC50 responses classified as low toxic for the twelve isolates and eight for chlorothalonil (EC50 between 10 mg L-1 and 50 mg L-1). Site-specific fungicides showed high-to-moderate fungitoxicity to P. pachyrhizi isolates, even as the multisites presented moderate-to-less toxic activity.
