Abstract MS is extensively used in oil and gas industries, but its inherent susceptibility to corrosive attack in marine environments with high C of Cl- is a shortcoming to its applications in such inevitable medium. Coating has been a popular means of mitigating steel structures corrosion. This work assessed the effect of Zn-ZnO based AW-SS composite as AC material on a MS substrate in a marine environment. The Zn-ZnO base was separately subject to CD with SS, DLFA and LSLA particulates on MS substrates. PDP method was used to ascertain corrosion behaviors of the coated samples in a simulated SW environment. The samples ( and microstructural properties were studied by a microhardness tester and SEM, respectively. The results indicated that the samples ( increased when they were coated by SS and LSLA higher C, which had the highest and lowest (, respectively. The coatings CP improved visibly with SS, which had the highest value (61.4%), followed by DLFA (53.8%) and LSLA (44.3%). AW incorporated into Zn-ZnO is a potential AC material.

This article provides an exegetical contribution to the proposition by David E. Garland that the Old Testament period of the promise foundfulfilment in the New Testament. The specific contribution of this study is the elements/traces of a bridge between the Old Testament and the annunciation/nativity narrative of Luke 1:5-25. The Gospel of Luke is characterised by people worshipping, praying, and fulfilling prophecy, as evidenced in the first two chapters of the book. There have been studies on the nativity narrative of the Gospel of Luke which usually took a historical comparative approach between the birth narrative of Jesus and that of John, and investigations into the uniqueness of the story to Luke. It leaves out the thematic discussion of some ethoses of the annunciation narrative that seeks to provide an unflinching link to the Old Testament. This article examines worship, prayer, and prophecy in the annunciation and nativity narrative in Luke 1:5-25 to draw possible relationships to the Old Testament. The diachronic narrative-semantic method is used for the study. The findings are that the narrative alludes to Old Testament stories of worship, prayer, and fulfilment of prophecy and suggests a link or bridge between the Old and New Testaments.

RESUMO Desde a eliminação bem-sucedida da varíola em 1971, a Organização Pan-Americana da Saúde (OPAS) e seus Estados Membros têm estado à frente de iniciativas para erradicar o poliovírus selvagem na Região das Américas. Em 1994, a região foi a primeira do mundo a ser certificada como livre do poliovírus selvagem. Entretanto, em julho de 2022, um paciente não vacinado e sem histórico de viagens recentes foi diagnosticado com poliomielite nos Estados Unidos da América. Em resposta ao surgimento de um poliovírus derivado de vacina circulante nos Estados Unidos, a OPAS criou a Equipe de Apoio à Gestão de Incidentes de Poliomielite. A equipe vem administrando os esforços de resposta, concentrando-se em: coordenação, planejamento e monitoramento; comunicação de risco e envolvimento da comunidade; vigilância e investigação de casos; vacinação; e resposta rápida. Neste documento, identificamos e documentamos as melhores práticas observadas após a criação da Equipe de Apoio à Gestão de Incidentes (setembro de 2022 a 2023) por meio de uma revisão e análise abrangentes de diversas fontes de dados e dados específicos de cada país fornecidos por meio do painel de vigilância da poliomielite. O objetivo foi compartilhar essas melhores práticas, destacando o apoio técnico e a implementação de medidas contra a poliomielite pelos Estados Membros. Apesar de vários desafios, a Região das Américas continua livre da poliomielite. Um levantamento de julho de 2023 demonstrou que o risco da poliomielite vem diminuindo, com menos países com risco médio, alto ou muito alto. Essa evolução é resultado de melhoras na cobertura vacinal, vigilância, contenção, preparação, determinantes de saúde e resposta a surtos. A Equipe de Apoio à Gestão de Incidentes de Poliomielite da OPAS foi fundamental para apoiar esses esforços.

RESUMEN La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) y sus Estados Miembros han liderado los esfuerzos para erradicar el poliovirus salvaje en la Región de las Américas desde la eliminación exitosa de la viruela en 1971. En 1994, la Región fue la primera en obtener la certificación de libre del poliovirus salvaje. Sin embargo, en julio del 2022, se diagnosticó poliomielitis a un paciente de Estados Unidos de América no vacunado y sin antecedentes de viajes recientes. Para responder a la aparición de un poliovirus circulante derivado de la vacuna en ese país, la OPS creó el equipo de apoyo a la gestión de incidentes de poliomielitis. Este equipo ha asumido la coordinación de los esfuerzos de respuesta y se ha centrado en la coordinación, la planificación y seguimiento; la comunicación de riesgos y la participación de la comunidad; la vigilancia e investigación de casos; la vacunación; y la respuesta rápida. En este artículo, se determinan y documentan las mejores prácticas observadas después de la creación del equipo de apoyo a la gestión de incidentes (septiembre del 2022-2023) mediante una revisión y un análisis pormenorizados de datos procedentes de diversas fuentes y de datos específicos de los países del panel de vigilancia de la poliomielitis. El objetivo fue poner en común estas mejores prácticas y resaltar el apoyo técnico y la aplicación de medidas contra la poliomielitis por parte de los Estados Miembros. A pesar de los diversos desafíos, la Región de las Américas se mantiene libre de poliomielitis. El riesgo de esta enfermedad es cada vez menor, y la evaluación de julio del 2023 muestra una disminución del número de países con un riesgo medio, alto o muy alto. Este progreso refleja la mejora de la cobertura de inmunización, la vigilancia, la contención, los determinantes de la salud y la preparación y respuesta ante brotes. El equipo de apoyo a la gestión de incidentes relacionados con la poliomielitis de la OPS ha desempeñado un papel fundamental para brindar apoyo a estas iniciativas.

ABSTRACT The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and its Member States have been leading the efforts to eradicate wild poliovirus in the Region of Americas since smallpox's successful elimination in 1971. The region became the first to be certified free of wild poliovirus in 1994. However, in July 2022, an unvaccinated patient with no recent travel history was diagnosed with poliomyelitis in the United States of America. In response to the emergence of a circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus in the United States, PAHO established the Polio Incident Management Support Team. This team has been coordinating response efforts, focusing on: coordination, planning, and monitoring; risk communication and community engagement; surveillance and case investigation; vaccination; and rapid response. In this paper, we identified and documented best practices observed following establishment of the Incident Management Support Team (September 2022–2023) through a comprehensive review and analysis of various data sources and country-specific data from the polio surveillance dashboard. The aim was to share these best practices, highlighting technical support and implementation of polio measures by Member States. Despite several challenges, the Americas region remains polio-free. Polio risk is declining, with a July 2023 assessment showing fewer countries at medium, high, and very high risk. This progress reflects improved immunization coverage, surveillance, containment, health determinants, and outbreak preparedness and response. The PAHO Polio Incident Management Support Team has played a key role in supporting these efforts.

Abstract Introduction: In Mexico, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) as an interdisciplinary intervention with therapeutic impact in patients with heart disease is growing. There is the need to know actual conditions of CR in our country. Objectives: The objective of this National Registry is to follow-up those existing and new CR units in Mexico through the comparison between the two previous registries, RENAPREC-2009 and RENAPREC II-2015 studies. This is a descriptive study focused on diverse CR activities such as assistance training, and certification of health professionals, barriers, reference, population attended, interdisciplinarity, permanence over time, growth prospects, regulations, post-pandemic condition, integrative characteristics, and scientific research. Results: Data were collected from 45 CR centers in the 32 states, 75.5% are private practice units, 67% are new, 33% were part of RENAPREC II-2015, and 17 have continued since 2009. With a better distribution of CR units along the territory, the median reference of candidates for CR programs is 9% with a significant reduction into tiempo of enrollment to Phase II admission (19 ± 11 days). Regarding to previous registries, the coverance of Phases I, II, and III is 71%, 100%, and 93%, respectively; and a coverance increases in evaluation, risk stratification, and prescription, more comprehensive attendance and prevention strategies. Conclusions: CR in Mexico has grown in the past 7 years. Even there is still low reference and heterogeneity in specific processes, there are strengths such as interdisciplinarity, scientific professionalization of specialists, national diversification, and an official society that are consolidated over time.

RESUMEN Introducción: La investigación psicológica puede ser desarrollada por investigadores y también por estudiantes de pregrado o posgrado. En un nivel de pregrado, la investigación psicológica es especialmente desafiante debido a la capacidad limitada de los estudiantes para desarrollar problemas de investigación y enfoques metodológicos coherentes y lógicos. Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio es identificar las principales tendencias de investigación en las tesis de grado en psicología de las universidades peruanas. Como objetivo específico, se distinguieron las tendencias de diseño de investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión sistemática descriptiva y retrospectiva de tesis de investigación en psicología de estudiantes universitarios peruanos, iniciando el proceso de extracción de datos a partir de la base de datos RENATI para una fase inicial de selección. El análisis de datos se realizó en dos fases. Resultados: Primero se organizaron los datos en relación a su frecuencia de las categorías de sexo de los autores, las universidades se catalogaron como universidades 1, 2, 3, 4 y 5 según su ranking, las categorías de años de publicación, número de autores Se obtuvieron diseños, tipo de metodología y área de publicación. A partir de estas categorías se establecieron estadísticos descriptivos de frecuencia. En la siguiente fase, se utilizaron análisis textuales lexicométricos y estadísticos para identificar los temas de tendencia de investigación. Discusión: Los principales resultados muestran que diferentes temas se enmarcan predominantemente dentro de la línea de investigación de la psicología clínica y de la salud, principalmente los relacionados con los estilos de afrontamiento, el estrés psicológico y el bienestar.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Psychological research can be developed by researchers and also by undergraduate or postgraduate students. In an undergraduate level, psychological research is specially challenging due to the limited ability of students to develop coherent and logical research problems and methodological approaches. Objective: The objective of this study is to identify the main research trends in undergraduate psychological theses from Peruvian universities. As a specific objective, quantitative and qualitative research design trends were distinguished. Methods: A descriptive and retrospective systematic review of psychological research thesis of Peruvian undergraduate students was conducted, starting the data extraction process starting with RENATI database for an initial screening phase. Data analysis was conducted in two phases. Results: First, data was organized in relation to its frequency of the categories of authors' sex, the universities were catalogued as universities 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 according to their ranking, the categories of years of publication, number of authors, designs, type of methodology, and area of publication were obtained. Descriptive frequency statistics were established based on these categories. In the next phase, lexicometric and statistical textual analysis were used to identify research trending topics. Discussion: The main results show that different topics are predominantly framed within the clinical and health psychology line of research, mainly those related to coping styles, psychological stress and wellbeing.

Abstract 24-year-old man with positive HIV, with a giant exofitic anal condyloma, with a clinical presentation of a painfull suppurative anal condyloma with a pathology report of an in situ squamous cell carcinoma. The purpose of the investigation is a case report and the procedure was observational. The finding was a Buschke-Lowenstein tumor.

Resumen Varón de 24 años, con infección por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana, que presenta una tumoración exofítica, dolorosa y supurativa, con reporte positivo de virus de papiloma humano y reporte histopatológico de carcinoma espinocelular sin evidencia de diseminación (in situ). El propósito de la investigación es un reporte de caso y el procedimientos fue observacional. El hallazgo fue un tumor de Buschke-Lowenstein.

Abstract The concept of pseudo-pseudo seizures is often confused with epileptic seizures characterized by excessive or simultaneous anomalous neuronal activity, and with non-epileptic psychogenic seizures, which are known for their involuntary movements and decreased self-control that can mimic epilepsy, without presenting the previously described cortical alterations. Currently, these two types of seizures represent a challenge due to their similar clinical presentation, however semiology and precise office studies allow a correct clinical approach and differential diagnosis. Among epileptic seizures that generate further diagnostic difficulties and confusion are frontal lobe and temporal lobe seizures. Recognizing the semiological characteristics that can occur in these types of seizures and identifying the differences found between epileptic and non-epileptic psychogenic seizures is essential to avoid a misdiagnosis of a pseudo-pseudoseizure.

ABSTRACT Introduction: In Peru, a high proportion of fully immunized people against COVID-19 has been achieved, which has mitigated the severity of the disease. Thus, under the recommendation of experts, the Peruvian government issued Supreme Decree 118-2022-PCM, which indicated that the use of masks is optional in open and ventilated enclosed spaces as of October 1, 2022. Objective: The aim of the present study was to find out the reasons why people continued to wear masks even though it was not mandatory in outdoor environments. Methods: A total of 335 people participated, with an average age of 26.11 years (73.1% women). A data collection form was prepared where sociodemographic and health information was requested; in addition, the question "Why do you continue to wear mask despite it being optional in open and closed ventilated spaces?" was included. The data obtained from the last open question of the instrument was analyzed by means of a discursive textual analysis (DTA) and an exploratory analysis through IRAMUTEQ. Results: Results indicate that people continue to wear masks, despite the lifting of the restrictions, to avoid contagion of COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases. In addition, the prevention of possible infection and transmission of the virus also focused on the family and vulnerable people. Discussion: It is concluded that the practice of wearing masks may be influenced by individual perceptions of risk and interpretations of responsibility and solidarity towards others.

RESUMEN Introducción: En el Perú, se logró una alta proporción de personas completamente inmunizados contra COVID-19 que ha mitigado la severidad de la enfermedad. Es así que, bajo la recomendación de expertos el gobierno peruano emitió el Decreto Supremo 118-2022-PCM, donde se indicó que el uso de la mascarilla es opcional en espacios abiertos y espacios cerrados ventilados a partir del 1 de octubre del 2022. Objetivo: El presente estudio fue conocer las razones por las cuales las personas continuaron usando mascarilla a pesar de que no era obligatorio en ambientes exteriores. Metodología: Participaron un total de 335 personas con un promedio de edad de 26.11 años (73.1% mujeres). Se elaboró una ficha de recolección de datos donde se solicitó información sociodemográfica y de salud; además, se incluyó la pregunta "¿por qué sigue utilizando la mascarilla a pesar de que es opcional en espacios abiertos y cerrados ventilados?" Los datos obtenidos de la última pregunta abierta del instrumento se analizaron mediante un análisis textual discursivo (ATD) y un análisis exploratorio a través de IRAMUTEQ. Resultados: Los resultados indicaron que, las personas seguían utilizando mascarillas, a pesar de estar levantadas las restricciones, para evitar contagios de la COVID-19 y de otras enfermedades respiratorias. Además, esta prevención de una posible infección y transmisión del virus es enfocada también a la propia familia y personas vulnerables. Discusión: Se concluye que, la práctica de usar mascarillas puede estar influenciada por las percepciones individuales del riesgo y las interpretaciones de responsabilidad y solidaridad frente a los demás.

Research to identify plant bioactive compounds led to the evolution of extraction methods. This study optimized ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) to extract the flavonoids of Croton grewioides Baill. species contributing to characterize the polar extract profile and understand the antioxidant potential of these plant constituents. The use of experimental design and statistical treatments enabled the determination of the ideal conditions for each technique. The extracts of five accessions of C. grewioides were obtained under the optimized extraction conditions and were analyzed using ultra high-resolution mass spectrometry (FT-Orbitrap MS) operating at negative ionization mode for flavonoids detection. The accurate experimental mass obtained to the main compounds was used to attribute the molecular formula. Chemical structures of the main compounds detected were proposed using structure data bases. Chemometric analysis were performed with two FT-Orbitrap MS spectra samples using the identified metabolites and, the antioxidant activity data, showing that for this species the MAE was most effective in extracting the antioxidant compounds. Resumen Se presenta la investigación para el desarrollo de una fórmula de una pintura de uso interior para techos de chapa de zinc. Las propiedades que se desarrollaron y optimizaron fueron: aislación térmica, capacidad anticondensante y propiedades ignífugas. Se utilizó como base de formulación un recubrimiento al látex ignífugo y se ensayaron tres tipos de rellenos, microesferas huecas de vidrio, microesferas huecas de cerámica y perlita expandida. Se evaluó el coeficiente de transferencia térmica de los distintos recubrimientos, la capacidad de absorción de agua y la transmisión térmica de llama. De los resultados, se determinó que la formulación de mejor desempeño, tanto en aislación térmica como en capacidad de absorción de agua, fue la que contenía perlita expandida. En cuanto a la transmisión térmica por acción de la llama, no se observó diferencia significativa entre las distintas cargas utilizadas.

Abstract A formula of a paint for interior use for roofing sheet zinc was optimized. The properties developed and optimizedwere thermal insulation, anticondensation capacity and fire-retardant properties. A fire-retardant latex coating was used as the formulation base and three types of fillers were investigated: hollow glass microspheres, hollow ceramic microspheres and expanded perlite. The thermal transfer coefficient of the different coatings, the water absorption capacity and the thermal flame transmission were evaluated. From the results, it was determined that the formulation with the best performance, both in thermal insulation and in water absorption capacity, was the one that contained expanded perlite. Regarding the thermal transmission due to the action of the flame, no significant difference was observed between the different loads used.

Resumen Antecedentes: El lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES) es una enfermedad auto inmunitaria crónica multisistémica con diversas manifestaciones clínicas. Siendo las mujeres la pobla ción vulnerable y con mayor afectación a nivel neurológico, al presentar mayor riesgo de convulsiones. Las manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas ocurren en etapas tempranas de la enfermedad y del diagnóstico, ya que pueden presentarse junto con manifestaciones sistémicas o no. La frecuencia de manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas en el lupus eritematoso sistémico se ha descrito del 14 al 75%, siendo las alteraciones cognitivas uno de los grandes síntomas a destacar1. La cual puede ir acompañada de trastornos afectivos de tipo depresión y ansiedad. Ya que la psicosis secundaria a LES se remarca por su baja prevalencia (10%)2, los estudios de laboratorio nos suelen orientar hacia el diagnóstico definitivo, siendo los anticuerpos ribosomales P los que se han relacionado más específicamente con la psicosis lúpica. La resonancia magnética es la prueba de elección y las lesiones cerebrales están dominadas por hiperintensidades de materia blanca en forma de punción3. En el siguiente reporte de caso, presentamos a una paciente de 20 años, la cual contaba con antecedentes de esteatosis hepática diagnosticado, diabetes tipo MODY y resección de ovario derecho por teratoma maduro de 9 años de evolución, pero sin antecedentes psiquiátricos de importancia para el momento de su valoración. Sin embargo, de forma aguda presentó un brote psicótico caracterizado por ideas delirantes de grandiosidad y referencia, así como alteraciones conductuales, cognitivas y afectivas. Por las que tuvieron que acudir a hospital de 3er nivel durante el periodo de contingencia sanitaria en el 2020. Tras el antecedente de presentar infección por SARS-CoV-2 tres meses antes de su patología neuropsiquiátricas. Se sospechó en síntomas neurológicos secundarios a infección por COVID-19, así como patología psiquiátrica aislada. Por lo que se realizó abordaje de estudio de primer brote psicótico, diagnosticándose lupus eritematoso sistémico con manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas. El tratamiento se basó en un bolo de metilprednisolona y antipsicóticos, luego modificada por terapia con corticoesteroides orales y antipsicótico de depósito. Conclusión: El lupus eritematoso sistémico con manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas es una presentación poco frecuente del padecimiento, por la amplia variación en la aparición de este, los pacientes con síntomas psiquiátricos en contexto de hospital general deben de ser tomados en cuenta para abordajes extensos4. De la misma forma, el tener este conocimiento del caso podrá ampliar nuestro conocimiento sobre las complicaciones de esta patología reumatológica. Y una de sus complicaciones más graves como la psicosis lúpica para poder realizar un mejor abordaje del primer brote psicótico en hospitales generales, donde la valoración de un especialista puede ser más complicada para mejorar las condiciones médicas de estos pacientes.

Abstract Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic multisystemic autoimmune disease with diverse clinical manifestations. Women are the most vulnerable population and have the greatest neurological involvement with a higher risk of seizures. Neuropsychiatric manifestations occur in early stages of the disease and diagnosis since they can occur together with systemic manifestations or not. The frequency of neuropsychiatric manifestations in systemic lupus erythematosus has been described from 14 to 75%; being cognitive alterations one of the major symptoms to highlight. Which, in the same way can be accompanied by affective disorders such as depression and anxiety. Since psychosis, secondary to SLE, stands out for its low prevalence (10%), laboratory studies usually guide us towards a definitive diagnosis, being ribosomal P antibodies the ones that have been more specifically related to lupus psychosis. MRI is the test of choice and brain lesions are dominated by punctate white matter hyperintensities. In the following case report, we present a 20-year-old patient who had a history of diagnosed hepatic steatosis, MODY type diabetes and resection of the right ovary for mature teratoma of 9 years of evolution; but with no psychiatric history of importance at the time of her evaluation. However, she acutely presented a psychotic outbreak characterized by delusions of grandiosity and reference; as well as behavioral, cognitive, and affective alterations. For which she had to go to a 3rd level hospital during the period of health contingency in 2020. After a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection three months before her neuropsychiatric pathology, neurological symptoms secondary to COVID-19 infection were suspected, as well as isolated psychiatric pathology. Therefore, a study approach of the first psychotic outbreak was performed, diagnosing systemic lupus erythematosus with neuropsychiatric manifestations. Treatment was based on a bolus of methylprednisolone and antipsychotics; later modified by therapy with oral corticosteroids and depot antipsychotic. Conclusion: Systemic lupus erythematosus with neuropsychiatric manifestations is an infrequent presentation of the disease, because of the wide variation in its appearance, patients with psychiatric symptoms in a general hospital setting should be considered for extensive approaches. In the same way, having this knowledge of this case may broaden our knowledge about the complications of this rheumatologic pathology. And one of its most serious complications such as lupus psychosis to be able to make a better approach to the first psychotic outbreak in general hospitals, where the assessment of a specialist can be more complicated.

ABSTRACT In fruit species, the amount of solar energy absorbed can influence fruit quality; hence, ensuring optimal light distribution management in the canopy of plants is essential. Therefore, the objectives of this study were (i) to analyze the variations in gas exchange through the day and (ii) identify the photosynthetically active photon flux density (PPFD) that promotes higher chlorophyll fluorescence and electron transport rate in jaboticaba seedlings. The experimental design was completely randomized, with treatments consisting of 18 photosynthetic photon flux densities and three evaluations throughout the day. Six replicates were used, with two plants per plot. Gas exchange and chlorophyll a fluorescence in P. peruviana were altered due to fluctuating photosynthetic photon flux density (0; 25; 50; 75; 100; 125; 150; 175; 200; 400; 600; 800; 1,000; 1,200; 1,400; 1,600; 1,800; and 2,000 μmol m-2 s-1) and environmental conditions throughout the day (8:00 a.m., 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.). The higher PPFD (1,384.6 μmol m-2 s-1) and air temperature (39.74 °C) at noon (12:00 p.m.) favored gas exchange in this species. An increase in PPFD of up to 1,000 μmol m-2 s-1 positively influenced the gas exchange and chlorophyll a fluorescence of P. peruviana.

RESUMO Em espécies fruteiras, é essencial considerar o gerenciamento da distribuição da luz nas copas das plantas, pois a quantidade de energia solar absorvida pode influenciar na qualidade dos frutos. Diante disso, os objetivos deste estudo foram: (i) analisar as variações das trocas gasosas ao longo do dia; (ii) identificar a densidade de fluxo de fótons fotossinteticamente ativos (PPFD) que promove maior fluorescência da clorofila e maior taxa de transporte de elétrons em mudas de jaboticaba. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, sendo os tratamentos compostos por 18 densidades de fluxo de fótons fotossinteticamente ativos (0; 25; 50; 75; 100; 125; 150; 175; 200; 400; 600; 800; 1.000; 1.200; 1.400; 1.600; 1.800 e 2.000 μmol m-2 s-1) e três horários de avaliação ao longo do dia (08:00, 12:00 e 16:00 h). Foram utilizadas seis repetições, considerando duas plantas por parcela útil. Trocas gasosas e fluorescência da clorofila a de P. peruviana foram alterados em virtude da PPFD e das condições ambientais ao longo do dia. A alta PPFD (1.384,6 μmol m-2 s-1) e temperatura do ar (39,74 °C) no horário de 12 horas favoreceu as trocas gasosas dessa espécie. O aumento da PPFD até 1.000 µmol m-2 s-1 influenciou positivamente as trocas gasosas e fluorescência da clorofila a de P. peruviana.

Resumen: Por años, los proyectos de construcción se han desarrollado y entregado usando métodos de entrega tradicionales. Sin embargo, esos métodos se han considerado ineficaces para lograr los objetivos reales del proyecto. Un modelo integrado y colaborativo, como la Entrega Integrada de Proyectos (IPD, por su sigla en inglés), un método de entrega basado en contratos relacionales ha atraído un interés creciente tanto en la academia como en la industria, pero aún escaso en Arquitectura, Ingeniería y Construcción (AIC). La mayoría de las investigaciones anteriores enfatizan en la identificación de las barreras y desafíos para implementar la IPD y pocos estudios se enfocan en desarrollar estrategias para superar esas limitaciones. Un número limitado de estudios aborda el cómo aprovechar los beneficios de la IPD en entornos AIC donde la colaboración entre las partes interesadas es deficiente. Esta investigación busca la forma de integrar la IPD en los proyectos de AIC cuando la colaboración aún es limitada. Se desarrolló un “Modelo Evolutivo de la IPD” y los lineamientos para su implementación para aplicaciones en tales ambientes. La Investigación en Ciencias del Diseño fue el enfoque adoptado en este studio para discutir y evaluar el modelo propuesto. El modelo enfatiza un proceso evolutivo y flexible para la aplicación de la IPD en proyectos en AIC. El modelo postula los elementos de IPD deseables y requeridos según los niveles de dificultad de aplicación, enfatizando la disposición de las partes interesadas para utilizarlo y la introducción gradual de la IPD en tales ambientes.

Abstract: Over the years, construction projects have been developed and delivered through traditional delivery methods. However, traditional delivery methods have been considered ineffective to achieve the real project goals. Integrated and collaborative models, such as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a delivery method based on relational contracts, has attracted growing interest in both academia and industry, but still scarce in Architecture Engineering, and Construction (AEC). Most prior research emphasized the identification of barriers and challenges to implementing IPD and few studies focused on developing strategies to overcome those constraints. A limited number of studies have addressed how to reap the benefits of IPD in AEC environments where collaboration between stakeholders is poor. This research investigates how to integrate IPD into AEC projects when collaboration is still limited. An “IPD Evolutionary Model” and guidelines for its implementation were developed for applications in such environments. Design Science Research was the research approach adopted in this study to discuss and evaluate the proposed model. The model emphasizes an evolutionary and flexible process for the IPD application in AEC projects. The model postulates the desirable and required IPD elements according to the levels of application difficulty, emphasising stakeholders' readiness for using it and the gradual introduction of IPD in such environments.

Abstract Vibration analysis systems are used to assess the operational condition of machines and electromechanical components in various applications. This work presents a measurement and feature extraction system that analyzes dynamic strain patterns in signals measured by fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The features were used to identify different simulated operational conditions in an electromechanical relay. The selection of the best feature space in the first approach was performed by statistical criteria that determine the threshold values and frequency bands to calculate each signal's switching time and power spectral density (PSD). These parameters are used in the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm, which presents 98 % accuracy for distinguishing four distinct conditions. Another methodology for extracting features, called wavelet scattering transform (WST), was used to demonstrate that it is possible to achieve even better performance levels. The results allow extending the methodology to more complex systems.

Resumen Introducción: Las amputaciones mayores provocan una elevada tasa de morbimortalidad. Los objetivos de este estudio fueron evaluar la tasa de mortalidad al mes, y a los 2 y 5 años de una amputación por pie diabético y comparar la tasa de mortalidad en pacientes con amputación infrarrotuliana o supracondílea. Materiales y Métodos: Se evaluó retrospectivamente a 60 pacientes con 64 amputaciones mayores, operados entre 2010 y 2018. Se reunió la siguiente información: datos personales, lateralidad, puntaje de la clasificación de la Universidad de Texas, análisis bioquímicos, estudio Doppler, comorbilidades, supervivencia y causa del óbito. Se calculó la tasa de mortalidad general y por tipo de amputación al mes, a los 2 y 5 años. Resultados: Se realizaron 58 amputaciones en hombres y 6, en mujeres (37 derechas, 27 izquierdas), 39 fueron supracondíleas, y 25 infrarrotulianas. La edad promedio era de 68 años. Hubo 28 óbitos: 15 pacientes con amputación supracondílea y 13 con amputación infrarrotuliana. Las tasas de mortalidad fueron: 13,33% al mes; 33,3% a los 2 años y 46,42% a los 5 años (pacientes con amputación supracondílea 26,78%; pacientes con amputación infrarrotuliana 19,64%). Las diferencias en los niveles de creatinina de los pacientes que murieron fueron estadísticamente significativas. Las principales causas de muerte fueron las complicaciones cardiovasculares. Conclusiones: Las tasas de mortalidad fueron significativamente superiores en los pacientes con amputación supracondílea. La tasa de mortalidad al mes relacionada con sepsis fue alta. Los enfermos renales tuvieron una tasa de mortalidad mayor.

Abstract Introduction: Major amputations cause a high rate of morbidity and mortality. Our objectives were to evaluate the mortality rate in the first month, and 2 and 5 years after amputation for diabetic foot and to compare the mortality rate in patients with below-the-knee (BKA) and above-the-knee amputations (AKA). Materials and Methods: Sixty patients with 64 major amputations, operated on between 2010 and 2018, were retrospectively evaluated. The following information was collected: personal data, laterality, University of Texas classification score, biochemical analysis results, Doppler studies, comorbidities, survival, and cause of death. The overall mortality rate and the mortality rate by type of amputation in the first month and after 2 and 5 years were calculated. Results: 58 amputations were performed in men and 6 in women (37 right, 27 left), 39 were AKA and 25 were BKA. The average age was 68 years. There were 28 deaths: 15 patients with AKA and 13 with BKA. Mortality rates were: 13.33% in the first month, 33.3% after 2 years, and 46.42% after 5 years (patients with AKA, 26.78%; patients with BKA, 19.64%). The differences in the creatinine levels of the patients who died were statistically significant. The main causes of death were cardiovascular complications.Conclusions: Mortality rates were significantly higher in patients with above-the-knee amputation. The sepsis-related mortality rate in the first month was high. Patients with kidney disease had a higher mortality rate.
