Resumen Introducción: el progreso en los tratamientos para el lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES) resultó en una disminución de la mortalidad; sin embargo, la enfermedad cardiovascular y las complicaciones infecciosas aún son las principales causas de muerte. La evidencia apoya la participación del sistema inmunológico en la generación de la placa aterosclerótica, así como su conexión con las enfermedades autoinmunes. Objetivos: describir la frecuencia de eventos cardiovasculares (ECV) en el Registro de Lupus Eritematoso Sistémico de la Sociedad Argentina de Reumatología (RELESSAR) transversal, así como sus principales factores de riesgo asociados. Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo y transversal para el cual se tomaron los pacientes ingresados en el registro RELESSAR transversal. Se describieron las variables sociodemográficas y clínicas, las comorbilidades, score de actividad y daño. ECV se definió como la presencia de al menos una de las siguientes patologías: enfermedad arterial periférica, cardiopatía isquémica o accidente cerebrovascular. El evento clasificado para el análisis fue aquel posterior al diagnóstico del LES. Se conformaron dos grupos macheados por edad y sexo 1:2. Resultados: 1515 pacientes mayores de 18 años participaron del registro. Se describieron 80 pacientes con ECV (5,3%). En este análisis se incluyeron 240 pacientes conformando dos grupos. La edad media fue de 47,8 (14,4) y 47,6 (14,2) en el grupo con y sin ECV respectivamente. Los pacientes con ECV tuvieron mayor duración del LES en meses, mayor índice de Charlson, mayor SLICC (Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics/American College of Rheumatology), mayor frecuencia de manifestaciones neurológicas, síndrome antifosfolípido, hospitalizaciones y uso de ciclofosfamida. Las únicas variables asociadas en el análisis multivariado fueron el índice de Charlson (p=0,004) y el SLICC (p<0,001). Conclusiones: los ECV influyen significativamente en nuestros pacientes, y se asocian a mayor posibilidad de daño irreversible y comorbilidades.

Abstract Introduction: progress in treatments for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has resulted in a decrease in mortality; however, cardiovascular and infectious diseases remain the leading causes of death. Evidence supports the involvement of the immune system in the generation of atherosclerotic plaque, as well as its connection to autoimmune diseases. Objectives: to describe the frequency of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the cross-sectional RELESSAR registry, as well as its associated variables. Materials and methods: a descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed using patients admitted to the cross-sectional RELESSAR registry. Sociodemographic variables, clinical variables, comorbidities, activity and damage scores were described. CVD was defined as at least one of the following: peripheral arterial disease, ischemic heart disease, or cerebrovascular accident. All patients with at least one CVD were included in our analysis (heart attack, central nervous system vascular disease, and peripheral arteries atherosclerotic disease). The event classified for the analysis was that after the diagnosis of SLE. SLE diagnosis was previous to CVD. Two groups matched by age and sex, 1:2 were formed. Results: a total of 1515 patients older than 18 years participated in the registry. Eighty patients with CVD (5.3%) were described in the registry. Two-hundred and forty patients were included, according to two groups. The mean age was 47.8 (SD 14.4) and 47.6 (SD 14.2) in patients with and without CVD, respectively. Patients with CVD had a longer duration of SLE in months, a higher Charlson index, a higher SLICC, increased frequency of neurological manifestations, antiphospholipid syndrome, hospitalizations, and use of cyclophosphamide. The associated variables in the multivariate were the Charlson Index (p=0.004) and the SLICC (p<0.001). Conclusions: CVDs have a significant influence on our patients, being associated with a greater possibility of damage and comorbidities.

Abstract Objective: to evaluate clinical, metabolic and body characteristics related to the metabolically unhealthy phenotype (MUH) in menopausal women who practice resistance training (RT). Methods: cross-sectional study with a sample of 31 women. Clinical and metabolic variables were measured. Body adiposity was assessed by body mass index, waist circumference, visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP). Body composition analysis was performed by DEXA. Results: the prevalence of the MH phenotype was 74.2 %. Metabolically healthy (MH) women were younger, had more years of RT practice, higher HDL-c levels and lower VAI and android/gynoid ratio (A/G) than the MUH women. Women with inadequacy of HDL-c, TG, A/G and VAI had 12.50 (95 % CI: 3.30-47.23), 4.83 (95 % CI: 2.37-9.85), 5.20 (95 % CI: 1.90-14.16) and 3.12 (95 % CI: 1.07-9.04) times greater prevalence of the MUH phenotype, respectively, than those with adequacy of these parameters. Binary logistic regression analysis demonstrated that age is a predictor of the MUH phenotype (OR = 1.254; 95 % CI: 1.00-1.56) and this variable showed correlation with TG, VAI and A/G. There was no association between thyrotropin and MUH phenotype in the present sample. Conclusion: age and visceral adiposity are predictors for the MUH phenotype in RT practitioners in menopause, which may initially be characterized by alterations in serum lipid profile.

Resumen Objetivo: evaluar las características clínicas, metabólicas y corporales relacionadas con el fenotipo metabólicamente no saludable (MNS) en mujeres menopáusicas que practican entrenamiento de resistencia (ER). Métodos: estudio transversal con 31 mujeres. Se midieron variables clínicas y metabólicas. La adiposidad corporal se evaluó mediante el índice de masa corporal, la circunferencia de la cintura, el índice de adiposidad visceral (IAV) y el producto de acumulación de lípidos (PAL). El análisis de composición corporal fue realizado por DEXA. Resultados: la prevalencia del fenotipo metabólicamente saludable (MS) fue del 74,2 %. Las mujeres metabólicamente saludables (MS) eran más jóvenes, tenían más años de práctica de ER, niveles más altos de HDL-c y menor IAV y relación androide/ginoide (A/G) que las mujeres MNS. Hubo asociación del fenotipo MNS con los niveles de HDL-c y A/G. Las mujeres con insuficiencia de HDL-c, TG, A/G y IAV tuvieron 12,50 (IC 95 %: 3,30-47,23), 4,83 (IC 95 %: 2,37-9,85), 5,20 (IC 95 %: 1,90-14,16) y 3,12 (IC 95 %: 1,07-9,04) veces mayor prevalencia del fenotipo MNS, respectivamente, que aquellas con adecuación de estos parámetros. El análisis de regresión logística binaria demostró que la edad es un predictor del fenotipo MUH (OR = 1,254; IC 95 %: 1,00-1,56) y esta variable mostró correlación con TG, VAI and A/G. No hubo asociación entre la tirotropina y el fenotipo MUH en la presente muestra. Conclusión: la edad y la adiposidad visceral son predictores del fenotipo MUH en practicantes de ER en la menopausia, que puede caracterizarse inicialmente alteraciones en el perfil plasmático de insípidos.

RESUMO Procura-se compreender como a formação de professores em proficiência digital pode levar, simultaneamente, à promoção das competências digitais dos alunos. Abstract This article offers an analytical approach to territorial conflicts, considering territory as a fundamental axis as the space where identities, motivations and grievances are generated, which influence the configuration of collective actors using different repertoires of action to defend the territory. Using qualitative methodology, we analyze the Juan Corrales Group, from the community of San Francisco Tlalcilalcalpan, State of Mexico, which has sustained a prolonged territorial dispute with the municipalities of Almoloya and Zinacantepec, emphasizing the last episode of the conflict that occurred in 2018. We conclude that identity is a trigger for the defense of territory.

Resumen Este artículo ofrece una aproximación analítica de los conflictos territoriales, considerando al territorio como el espacio en donde se gestan identidades, motivaciones y agravios que inciden en la configuración de actores colectivos que utilizan diferentes repertorios de acción para la defensa del territorio. El grupo “Juan Corrales” de la comunidad San Francisco Tlalcilalcalpan, Estado de México ha sostenido una prolongada disputa territorial con los municipios de Almoloya de Juárez y Zinacantepec, el último episodio del conflicto se suscitó en 2018. De modo que a través de una metodología cualitativa se concluye que la identidad es un detonante de la defensa del territorio.

Abstract Introduction Hyperglycemia occurs in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) due to chemotherapeutic agents and may be stress-induced. Given the potential impact of hyperglycemia on the clinical outcomes of ALL patients, we sought to determine the association of hyperglycemia with the development of infectious complications. Methods This is a retrospective cohort involving adult Filipino ALL patients admitted at a tertiary referral center. Patients were stratified according to blood glucose levels and infections were classified into microbiologically and clinically defined infections. Logistic regression was performed to determine whether hyperglycemia was associated with the development of infectious complications. Results Of the 174 patients admitted for ALL, only 76 patients (44%) underwent blood glucose monitoring and were thus included in this study. Hyperglycemia was observed in 64 patients (84.21%). Infectious complications were seen in 56 patients (73.68%), of whom 37 patients (48.68%) had microbiologically defined infections and 19 (25%) had clinically defined infections. The respiratory tract was the most common site of infection and gram-negative bacteria were the predominant isolates. Hyperglycemia significantly increased the likelihood of infectious complications, particularly at blood glucose levels ≥ 200 mg/dL. Conclusion Hyperglycemia is associated with an increased likelihood of infectious complications in Filipino ALL patients. With sepsis being one of the main causes of mortality in this population, our study provides compelling evidence for us to consider routine blood glucose monitoring in order to manage and potentially decrease the occurrence of infections in these patients.

RESUMO Objetivo: Inquérito nacional de cobertura vacinal aos 12 e 24 meses de idade foi realizado para investigar as quedas nas coberturas a partir de 2016. Métodos: Amostra de 37.836 nascidos vivos das coortes de 2017 e 2018 residentes nas capitais, Distrito Federal (DF) e 12 cidades com mais de 100 mil habitantes, acompanhados nos primeiros 24 meses por registros nas cadernetas de vacinação. Setores censitários foram estratificados segundo condições socioeconômicas, e o mesmo número de crianças foi incluído para cada estrato. Calcularem-se coberturas vacinais de cada vacina e coberturas completas aos 12 e 24 meses, doses aplicadas, válidas e oportunas. Fatores familiares, maternos e da criança associados à cobertura foram pesquisados. Os motivos para não vacinar analisados foram: contraindicações médicas, dificuldades de acesso, problemas no funcionamento do programa e hesitação vacinal. Resultados: Os resultados preliminares mostram que menos de 1% das crianças não foram vacinadas, as coberturas pelo esquema completo são menores que 75% em todas as capitais e no DF, as vacinas com mais de uma dose perdem cobertura progressivamente, há diferenças entre os estratos socioeconômicos, favoráveis aos estratos mais altos em algumas cidades e aos estratos mais baixos em outras. Conclusão: Houve realmente redução da cobertura vacinal em todas as capitais e no DF para as crianças nascidas em 2017 e 2018, denotando piora na execução do Programa Nacional de Imunizações durante os anos de 2017 a 2019. O inquérito realizado não mensurou os impactos da pandemia de COVID-19 que podem ter reduzido ainda mais as coberturas vacinais.

ABSTRACT Objective: The national vaccination coverage survey on full vaccination at 12 and 24 months of age was carried out to investigate drops in coverage as of 2016. Methods: A sample of 37,836 live births from the 2017 or 2018 cohorts living in capital cities, the Federal District, and 12 inner cities with 100 thousand inhabitants were followed for the first 24 months through vaccine record cards. Census tracts stratified according to socioeconomic levels had the same number of children included in each stratum. Coverage for each vaccine, full vaccination at 12 and 24 months and number of doses administered, valid and timely, were calculated. Family, maternal and child factors associated with coverage were surveyed. The reasons for not vaccinating analyzed were: medical contraindications, access difficulties, problems with the program, and vaccine hesitancy. Results: Preliminary results showed that less than 1% of children were not vaccinated, full coverage was less than 75% at all capitals and the Federal District, vaccines requiring more than one dose progressively lost coverage, and there were inequalities among socioeconomic strata, favorable to the highest level in some cities and to the lowest in others. Conclusion: There was an actual reduction in full vaccination in all capitals and the Federal District for children born in 2017 and 2018, showing a deteriorating implementation of the National Immunization Program from 2017 to 2019. The survey did not measure the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, which may have further reduced vaccination coverage.

Abstract Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have extensive applications in nanomedicine due to their physicochemical properties and interactions with biomolecules. One way of obtaining them is through green synthesis with plant extracts containing reducing and capping agents, such as Catharanthus roseus (L.) G Don. This plant has pharmacological applications due to its phytocompounds with biological activity. The C. roseus flowers are rich in alkaloids and phenolic compounds, and have the potential to synthesize AgNPs but have never been used with this purpose. In this study, AgNPs were synthesize with the aqueous extract from the C. roseus flowers, and their cytotoxicity evaluated on A549 lung tumor cells through MTT assay. The AgNP synthesis could be seen visually from the solution's color change and through UV-visible spectroscopy to detect a peak between 400 - 530 nm. FEG microscopy showed AgNPs with variable shapes and sizes. In vitro cytotoxicity assay against A549 cells showed that the C. roseus extract have low toxicity to the lineage, and AgNPs reduced half the viable cells at the 1.5% concentration, demonstrating high cytotoxicity. Therefore, AgNPs from C. roseus were successfully obtained and showed significant cytotoxic activity on A549 lung cancer cells.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the temperature curve of raw or pasteurized human milk exposed to different heating methods. Method: Experiments with volumes of 5 ml to 100 ml of human milk were carried out between 2016 and 2021 and analyzed according to the exposure time by different heating methods. Descriptive statistics included the calculation of means, medians, minimum and maximum values, measures of dispersion and standard deviation. Results: The thermal curve made it possible to identify the heating of human milk close to body temperature when subjected to a water bath and microwaves. Milk exposed to room temperature (21°C) was unable to reach this temperature. When heated in a water bath at 40°C, smaller volumes reached body temperature between 3 and 5 minutes, while in a microwave at 50% power, practically all volumes reached temperature. Conclusion: The temperature curves of raw or pasteurized human milk were constructed, and it was possible to verify its behavior using different heating methods for administering the food in a neonatal intensive care unit, considering the volume, type and time of heating and temperature.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Analizar la curva de temperatura de la leche humana cruda o pasteurizada expuesta a diferentes métodos de calentamiento. Método: Se realizaron experimentos con volúmenes de 5 ml a 100 ml de leche humana entre 2016 y 2021 y se analizaron en función del tiempo de exposición mediante diferentes métodos de calentamiento. La estadística descriptiva incluyó el cálculo de medias, medianas, valores mínimos y máximos, medidas de dispersión y desviación estándar. Resultados: La curva térmica permitió identificar el calentamiento de la leche humana próximo a la temperatura corporal cuando se sometió a baño maría y microondas. La leche expuesta a temperatura ambiente (21°C) fue incapaz de alcanzar esta temperatura. Cuando se calentó en un baño de agua a 40°C, los volúmenes más pequeños alcanzaron la temperatura corporal entre 3 y 5 minutos, mientras que en un microondas al 50% de potencia, prácticamente todos los volúmenes alcanzaron la temperatura. Conclusión: Se construyeron las curvas de temperatura de la leche humana cruda o pasteurizada y se pudo comprobar su comportamiento utilizando diferentes métodos de calentamiento para administrar el alimento en una unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales, teniendo en cuenta el volumen, el tipo y el tiempo de calentamiento y la temperatura.

RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar a curva de temperatura do leite humano cru ou pasteurizado exposto a diferentes métodos de aquecimento. Método: Experimentos com volumes de 5 ml a 100 ml de leite humano foram realizados entre 2016 e 2021 e analisados segundo o tempo de exposição por diferentes métodos de aquecimento. A estatística descritiva incluiu o cálculo das médias, medianas, valores mínimos e máximos, medidas de dispersão e desvio padrão. Resultados: A curva térmica permitiu identificar o aquecimento do leite humano próximo da temperatura corporal quando submetidos a banho-maria e micro-ondas. O leite exposto à temperatura ambiente (21°C) não foi capaz de atingir tal temperatura. No aquecimento em banho-maria a 40°C, volumes menores alcançaram a temperatura corporal entre 3 e 5 minutos, enquanto em micro-ondas na potência de 50%, praticamente todos os volumes alcançaram essa temperatura. Conclusão: As curvas de temperatura do leite humano cru ou pasteurizado foram construídas, sendo possível verificar o seu comportamento mediante diferentes métodos de aquecimento para administração do alimento em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal, considerando o volume, tipo e tempo de aquecimento e temperatura.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of milk and cheese and sensory analysis of cheese from goats that received a diet with different levels of sorghum silage in the diet. Twenty Anglonubian dairy goats were used, with an average age of 2 years, average live weight of 43.7 kg, distributed in a completely randomized design, with five replications. Moisture (P=0.001), total solids (P=0.001), fat (p=0.001), TDE (P=0.006) and protein (P=0.003) of goat cheese showed a significant difference due to the inclusion of silage from goat cheese. sorghum in the diet. The sensory attributes soft appearance (P<.0001), look (P<.0001), salty taste (P<.0001) and smooth texture (P=0.0430) showed a significant difference depending on the level of sorghum silage added to the diet. of goats. In the PC analysis, it is observed that three main components were needed to represent the variation of 64.84% of the data. PC 1 determined 29% of the data variation and was represented by the attributes with the highest averages: attractive aroma (5.87) and global acceptability (7.74). The inclusion of up to 45% of sorghum silage in the diet of goats increased milk and cheese fat, which favored high scores for the attributes of softness and global acceptance.

Abstract Objective To investigate the association of the endured /witnessed of intrafamily violence and common mental disorders (CMD) in adolescents. Methods This was a cross-sectional, analytical study conducted in a public school, located in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, with 230 students with ages between 10 and 19 years. The data were stored in a Microsoft Excel worksheet, and analyzes were performed using Data Analysis and Statistics Software. Results Students who had endured sexual violence were 11 times more likely to have a common mental disorder (CMD) (PR=11 and 95%CI=1.39-86.7), followed by those experiencing psychological violence, who were 4.8 times more likely to report a disorder (PR=4.8% and 95%CI=2.67-8.45), and those experiencing physical violence who were 2.2 times more likely (PR=4.8% and 95%CI =1.31-3.78). Conclusion Adolescents involved in the context of intrafamily violence, in psychological, physical, and sexual forms, are more likely to present CMD, as shown in the results.

Resumen Objetivo Investigar la relación entre la violencia intrafamiliar vivida/presenciada y el trastorno mental común en adolescentes. Métodos Se trata de un estudio de corte transversal, de carácter analítico, realizado en una escuela pública, ubicada en la ciudad de Salvador, estado de Bahia, Brasil, con 230 estudiantes de entre 10 y 19 años. Los datos se guardaron en el programa Microsoft Excel y los análisis fueron medidos con ayuda del programa Data Analysis and Statistical Software. Resultados Se verificó que los escolares que vivieron violencia sexual presentaron 11 veces más probabilidades de tener Trastorno Mental Común (TMC) (RP=11 e IC95 %=1,39-86,7), luego la vivencia de violencia psicológica con 4,8 veces más probabilidades de relatar el trastorno (RP= 4,8 % e IC95 % = 2,67-8,45) y la física con 2,2 veces más probabilidades (RP= 4,8 % e IC95 % = 1,31-3,78). Conclusión Se concluye que los adolescentes inmersos en contexto de violencia intrafamiliar, en su forma psicológica, física y sexual, según se evidenció en los resultados, tienen mayores probabilidades de presentar TMC.

Métodos Trata-se de um estudo de corte transversal, de cunho analítico, sendo efetuado em uma escola pública, localizada na cidade de Salvador, Bahia, Brasil com 230 estudantes em idade entre 10 e 19 anos. Os dados foram armazenados no programa Microsoft Excel e as análises foram mensuradas com o auxílio do programa Data Analysis and Statistical Software. Resultados Verificou-se que escolares que vivenciaram a violência sexual apresentaram 11 vezes mais chances de apresentar Transtorno Mental Comum (TMC) (RP=11 e IC95%=1,39-86,7), seguida pela vivência de violência psicológica com 4,8 vezes mais chances de referir o transtorno (RP= 4,8% e IC95% = 2,67-8,45) e a física com 2,2 vezes mais chances (RP= 4,8% e IC95% = 1,31-3,78). Conclusão Conclui-se que adolescentes imersos no contexto de violência intrafamiliar, nas suas formas psicológica, física e sexual, conforme evidenciado nos resultados, possuem maiores chances para apresentar o TMC.

RESUMO Objetivo: refletir sobre os desafios que permeiam o desenvolvimento e perenidade dos periódicos de enfermagem, editados no Brasil, tomando-os como entidades à serviço da comunidade científica atual e patrimônio da história da ciência para as gerações vindouras. Método: utilizou-se do método reflexivo, ancorado em princípios da complexidade e na literatura pertinente ao objeto da reflexão. Resultados: a perenidade do compromisso com a editoração científica emergiu como ponto de partida para a reflexão que destaca a importância das instituições mantenedoras como guardiãs dos periódicos científicos; a necessidade de investimentos e valorização da gestão, profissionalização e internacionalização da equipe editorial; a capacidade de ampliar a comunicação rompendo paradigmas nas conexões entre ciência e sociedade. Conclusão: esta reflexão poderá contribuir para reafirmar o conceito dos periódicos científicos como dispositivos que devem ser projetados em uma perspectiva perene e que, portanto, sobreviva à dinâmica dos tempos em meio aos desafios da ciência global. RESUMEN Objetivo: reflexionar sobre los desafíos relacionados al desarrollo y la perpetuidad de las revistas de enfermería publicadas en Brasil, considerándolas como entidades al servicio de la comunidad científica actual y patrimonio de la historia de la ciencia para las generaciones futuras. Método: Se utilizó el método reflexivo, con base en principios de complejidad y en la literatura pertinente al objeto de reflexión. Resultados: El compromiso perenne por la publicación científica surgió como punto de partida de una reflexión que destaca la importancia de las instituciones patrocinadoras como guardianas de las revistas científicas; la necesidad de inversiones y potenciación de la gestión, profesionalización e internacionalización del equipo editorial; la capacidad de expandir la comunicación rompiendo paradigmas en las conexiones entre ciencia y sociedad. Conclusión: esta reflexión puede contribuir a reafirmar el concepto de las revistas científicas como dispositivos que deben diseñarse en una perspectiva perenne y que, por tanto, sobrevivan a la dinámica de los tiempos en medio de los desafíos de la ciencia global. ABSTRACT Objective: to reflect upon the challenges that permeate the development and perenniality of nursing journals published in Brazil for becoming entities at the service of the scientific community and heritage of the history of science for future generations. Method: the reflective method grounded on the principles of complexity and pertinent literature was adopted. Results: the perennial commitment to scientific publishing emerged as the starting point for this reflection; hence, the role played by sponsoring institutions as the guardians of scientific journals, the need for investments, and to valorize the management, professionalization, and internationalization of the editorial team are emphasized, along with the ability to expand communication breaking paradigms in the connections between science and society. RESUMO A brusone causada pelo patógeno Magnaporthe oryzae é a principal doença do arroz, e pode causar perdas devastadoras. Objetivou-se investigar o perfil de compostos voláteis da micorriza Waitea circinata no antagonismo a M. oryzae, em diferentes períodos e temperaturas, utilizando-se delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Compostos orgânicos voláteis foram extraídos por micro extração em fase sólida, no modo headspace, e analisados por cromatografia gasosa acoplada a espectrometria de massas, enquanto o escalonamento multidimensional foi usado para comparar os compostos orgânicos voláteis produzidos. ABSTRACT Rice blast caused by the Magnaporthe oryzae pathogen is a major disease in this crop, and may cause devastating losses. This study aimed to investigate the profile of Waitea circinata mycorrhiza volatile compounds in antagonism to M. oryzae, under different growth periods and temperatures, using a completely randomized design. Volatile organic compounds were extracted by headspace solid phase microextraction and analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry, while multidimensional scaling was used to compare the produced volatile organic compounds. Resumo A área florestal portuguesa é dominada principalmente por Eucalyptus globulus e, sendo esta uma espécie invasora e muito inflamável, é importante controlar a sua proliferação. Neste sentido, o projeto PEST(bio)CIDE, assentando numa perspetiva de economia circular, pretende explorar o potencial fitotóxico das folhas do eucalipto e utilizar a sua biomassa foliar como um biocida eficaz e ambientalmente seguro. Deste modo, é possivel associar um benefício económico a uma melhor gestão das áreas de eucalipto regeneradas após incêndio. Espera-se ainda que a introdução de biomassa no solo melhore a sua qualidade e a sua eficácia no aumento da reserva de carbono e na fertilidade do solo. Neste sentido, o presente trabalho foca-se na avaliação dos efeitos que a introdução da biomassa de eucalipto tem nas propriedades físico-químicas e biológicas do solo. Para isto, realizou-se uma experiência em microcosmos, em condições controladas, na qual se avaliou o efeito da adição de diferentes percentagens de folhas de eucalipto em algumas propriedades físico-químicas do solo e na atividade de enzimática da desidrogenase, ao longo do tempo.

Abstract The Portuguese forest area is mainly dominated by Eucalyptus globulus and, as this is an invasive and very flammable species, it is important to control its proliferation. In this sense, the PEST(bio)CIDE project, based on a circular economy perspective, aims to explore the phytotoxic potential of eucalyptus leaves and use its foliar biomass as an effective and environmentally safe biocide. In this way, it is possible to associate an economic benefit with a better management of the eucalyptus areas regenerated after fire. It is also expected that the introduction of biomass into the soil will improve its quality and its effectiveness in increasing the carbon stock and soil fertility. In this sense, the present work focuses on the evaluation of the effects that the introduction of eucalyptus biomass has on the physicochemical and biological properties of the soil. For this, an experiment was carried out in microcosms, under controlled conditions, in which the effect of the addition of different percentages of eucalyptus leaves on some physicochemical soil properties and on the dehydrogenase enzymatic activity over time was evaluated.

Resumo Introdução e Objetivos: A prevalência da obesidade entre mulheres em idade fértil tem aumentado nos últimos anos, devendo ser considerada na escolha do método contracetivo. Estas mulheres apresentam maior risco de eventos tromboembólicos, sendo superior com a utilização de contraceção hormonal combinada (CHC). Por este motivo, algumas sociedades médicas não recomendam a utilização de CHC nas mulheres com obesidade classe 2 e 3. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a terapêutica contracetiva nas mulheres obesas de classe 2 ou superior em nove Unidades de Saúde Familiar (USF’s) da região norte de Portugal. Tipo de Estudo: Estudo multicêntrico observacional retrospetivo transversal. População: Todas as mulheres em idade fértil (15-49 anos), com IMC ≥35 kg/m2, inscritas nas USF’s intervenientes e inseridas no programa de planeamento familiar (PF). Métodos: A amostra foi recolhida através da plataforma MIM@UF® e a identificação do método anticoncecional e antecedentes tromboembólicos através do processo clínico (SClínico®). Foram excluídas mulheres grávidas, mulheres sem consulta nos últimos cinco anos e mulheres com dados inválidos. Resultados: Da amostra inicial de 1063 mulheres, 123 foram excluídas. A idade média era 36,8 ± 8,8 anos e o IMC médio era 39,2 ± 4,0 kg/m2. Desta amostra, 36,2% (n=340) estavam sob progestativos (70,9% progestativo oral, 14,7% sistema intrauterino com levonorgestrel, 13,8% com implante progestativo, 0,6% com progestativo injetável); 27,7% (n=260) estavam sob CHC, 12,8% (n=120) estava sob métodos não hormonais (55,8% métodos de barreira; 37,5% dispositivo intrauterino de cobre; 6,7% métodos naturais); 6,4% (n=60) estavam com métodos permanentes e 17,0% não utilizavam método contracetivo (n=160). Nesta amostra, 2,2% (n=21) tinham antecedentes tromboembólicos. Conclusões: A CHC é o segundo método mais usado nas USF intervenientes, apesar do seu uso não estar recomendado. Dado o elevado risco de eventos tromboembólicos, é essencial implementar medidas corretivas para a melhoria do aconselhamento contracetivo nas consultas de PF.

Abstract Overview and Aims: The prevalence of obesity among fertile women has increased over the last few years and should be considered when choosing a contraceptive method. These women have a higher risk of thromboembolic events that increases with the use of combined hormonal contraception (CHC). Therefore, some medical societies do not recommend the use of CHC in women with class 2 obesity or higher. This study aims to assess the contraceptive methods used in women with class 2 obesity or higher in nine Primary Healthcare Units (PHU) in northern Portugal. Study Design: Multicentric retrospective, observational, cross-sectional study. Population: All women of reproductive age (between ages 15 and 49), with a BMI ≥ 35 kg/m2, enrolled in the intervening PHU and included in the family planning (FP) program. Methods: The sample was collected using the MIM@UF® database, obtaining the contraceptive method and thromboembolic history through the individual electronic medical record system, Sclínico®. Pregnant women, women without a medical appointment in the previous five years and women with invalid data were excluded. Results: From the initial sample of 1063 women, 123 were excluded. The mean age was 36.8 ± 8.8 years, the mean BMI was 39.2 ± 4.0 kg/m2. From the sample, 36.2% (n=340) were using progestogen (70.9% progestogen-only pill, 14.7% levonorgestrel intrauterine system, 13.8% progestogen-only implant, 0.6% progestogen-only injectables); 27.7% (n=260) were taking CHC; 12.8% (n=120) were with a non-hormonal methods (55.8% barrier methods; 37.5% copper intrauterine contraceptive device, 6.7% natural methods); 6.4% (n=60) were with permanent methods, 17.0% were not using any type of contraception (n=160). In this sample, 2,2% (n=21) had a thromboembolic event. Conclusions: CHC was the second most used method in the intervening FHU, although its use is not recommended. Given the high risk of thromboembolic events, it is essential to implement corrective measures to improve contraceptive counselling in FP consultations.
