ABSTRACT. Fruit residues represent alternative ingredients that can be included in diets of tambaqui, Colossoma macropomum. This study evaluated the growth performance of tambaqui fed diets containing different levels of guava agroindustrial residue. The experiment was based on a completely randomised design, with 105 fish randomly distributed in 15 plastic 60 L-1 boxes with a water recirculation system. Feeding was carried out to apparent satiety for 45 days, using diets with 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 g kg-1 inclusion of guava residue. Biometrics were performed every 15 days. Quadratic effect (p < 0.05) was observed for daily feed intake and apparent feed conversion, with optimum levels of 4.86 and 6.05% inclusion of guava residue, respectively. There was no significant difference (p > 0.05) in relation to final weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, hepato-somatic index, survival rate and protein efficiency rate by the dietary treatments. The inclusion of up to 150 g kg-1 of the guava agroindustrial residue in the feed did not compromise the performance of tambaqui juveniles.

ABSTRACT Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu (REGUA) is a private, protected area inside a remnant of the Atlantic Forest with high biodiversity. Although the bats of the reserve have been sampled for more than two decades, few studies have been published about them. Based on a compilation of data from several surveys, we present an updated list of the bat species there and compare it with surveys from other locations in the Atlantic Forest. From August 1998 to September 2021, at least 194 sampling nights were carried out at REGUA by different research groups from various institutions, totaling 448,092 m2.h of sampling. A total of 4,069 individuals were captured, belonging to 47 species and six families. Additionally, our results indicate that it is possible that some species that occur at REGUA have not been recorded yet. REGUA has the greatest number of bat species known for the Atlantic Forest. This most likely results from the fact that the reserve includes large areas of mature, continuous forest connected with other protected areas in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Another factor contributing to the high diversity of bat species at REGUA is that the area has been intensely sampled for many years. Given that the bat assemblage there appears to be a good proxy to ascertain the ecological patterns of biodiversity in well-preserved forests, we consider REGUA to be an important area for long-term ecological research. The basic knowledge about the ecological interactions of bats with different food resources and zoonotic microorganisms offers a unique opportunity to carry out research in several areas of knowledge, making it possible to address questions about bat assemblage structure, bat-parasite ecology, competition, niche partitioning, and other related studies.

RESUMO O aumento na densidade de plantas aliado à utilização de híbridos no cultivo da cebola tem proporcionado ganhos significativos na produtividade desta cultura, com impacto direto na quantidade de macronutrientes absorvidos. Objetivou-se avaliar a produtividade e qualidade de duas cultivares de cebola sob sistema adensado em função de doses de potássio fornecidas via fertirrigação em Mossoró/RN. Adotou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 2 x 7, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de duas cultivares (IPA 11 e Rio das Antas) e sete doses de potássio (0, 70, 140, 210, 280, 350 e 420 kg ha-1 de K2O), fornecidas via fertirrigação. As doses de potássio que proporcionaram as máximas produtividades total e comercial de bulbos foram de 215 e 216 kg ha-1 de K2O, respectivamente. Os sólidos solúveis e o percentual de bulbos das classes 2, 3 e 4 não foram influenciados pela adubação potássica. Houve redução do percentual de bulbos não comerciais com o aumento das doses de potássio. A dose de máxima eficiência econômica foi de 210,6 kg ha-1 de K2O, responsável por uma produtividade comercial de 61,8 t ha-1.

ABSTRACT The increase in plant density, combined with the use of hybrids in onion cultivation, has provided significant gains in yield, with a direct impact on the amount of absorbed macronutrients. The present work aimed to evaluate the yield and quality of two onion cultivars under a densified system as a function of potassium doses supplied via fertirrigation. A randomized complete block design was used in a 2 x 7 factorial scheme with four replications. The treatments consisted of two cultivars (IPA 11 and Rio das Antas) and seven potassium doses (0, 70, 140, 210, 280, 350 and 420 kg ha-1 K2O), provided by fertigation. The potassium doses that provided maximum total and commercial yields were 215 and 216 kg ha-1 of K2O, respectively. The soluble solids and the percentage of bulbs of classes 2, 3 and 4 were not influenced by potassium fertilization. There was a reduction in the percentage of non-commercial bulbs with the increase of potassium doses. The dose with maximum economical efficiency was 210.6 kg ha-1 of K2O, responsible for a commercial yield of 61.8 t ha-1.

RESUMO Este artigo objetivou descrever o perfil das Internações por Condições Sensíveis à Atenção Primária (ICSAP) nas 22 Regiões de Saúde do Ceará, através de um estudo quantitativo e transversal sobre as hospitalizações ocorridas entre 2010 e 2014. Houve redução das ICSAP nas regiões, com exceção de duas. Na maioria, a ampliação da cobertura da Estratégia Saúde da Família gerou redução na proporção de ICSAP. Entretanto, é necessário um compromisso mais contundente com relação à sua qualidade, à consolidação do processo de regionalização e ao desenvolvimento de ações intersetoriais que impactem em outros determinantes de saúde.

There was a reduction of ICSAP in the regions, except for two. In the majority, the expansion of the coverage of the Family Health Strategy has generated a reduction in the proportion of ICSAP. However, a overwhelming commitment to quality is required, to the consolidation of the regionalization process and to the development of intersectoral actions that impact on other health determinants.

ABSTRACT Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is an endemic parasitic disease frequently found in Northeast Brazil and may cause acute kidney injury (AKI) and glomerulonephritis. After appropriate treatment, renal function recovery may occur. We describe the rare case of a patient with VL, who developed severe AKI requiring dialysis and was subsequently diagnosed with Chagas disease coinfection. After specific treatment for VL, there was partial recovery of the renal function, followed by the onset of Chagas disease cardiomyopathy.
