Resumen Introducción. El ají dulce tipo topito (Capsicum chinense Jacq., sinense Murray) es un cultivo tradicional de la región Caribe de Colombia, el cual ocupa el tercer lugar entre las hortalizas sembradas en esta zona del país. Objetivo. Evaluar la interacción genotipo-ambiente y la estabilidad del rendimiento en nueve líneas avanzadas de ají dulce tipo topito obtenidas en el programa de mejoramiento genético de hortalizas de la Corporación Colombiana de Investigación Agropecuaria (AGROSAVIA). Materiales y métodos. En el año 2020, se establecieron cuatro ensayos de evaluación agronómica en las localidades de San Pelayo, Córdoba; Sincelejo, Sucre; Suan, Atlántico, y Zona Bananera, Magdalena, todas ubicadas en la región Caribe de Colombia. Para los experimentos se empleó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Las variables respuesta fueron el rendimiento, el número de frutos por planta, el peso fresco del fruto y la longitud del fruto. Se realizaron análisis de estabilidad fenotípica del rendimiento mediante los métodos propuestos por Eberhart y Russell, y Lin y Binns. Resultados. Hubo interacción genotipo-ambiente significativa para variables asociadas al rendimiento de fruto. Mediante el análisis del comportamiento productivo de los materiales en los diferentes ambientes, se pudieron identificar las líneas L61 y L7 como genotipos sobresalientes con rendimientos estadísticamente superiores (p ≤ 0,05) al testigo regional utilizado y con características de fruto acordes a los requerimientos del mercado de consumo fresco regional. Conclusiones. Los genotipos L61 y L7 mostraron la mejor adaptación a los diferentes ambientes evaluados y mayor potencial productivo. El ambiente Zona Bananera alcanzó los mayores rendimientos, con 59,11 t ha-1 para L61 y 55,05 t ha-1 para L7.

Abstract Introduction. Sweet bell pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq., sinense Murray) is a traditional crop of the Caribbean region of Colombia, which occupies the third place among the vegetables planted in this area this area of the country. Objective. To evaluate the genotype-environment interaction and yield stability in nine advanced lines of topito type sweet pepper obtained within the vegetable breeding program of the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (AGROSAVIA). Materials and methods. In the year 2020, four agronomic evaluation trials were established in the localities of San Pelayo, Córdoba; Sincelejo, Sucre; Suan, Atlántico, and Zona Bananera, Magdalena, all located in the Caribbean region of Colombia. For the experiments, a design of complete blocks at random with four repetitions was carried out. As variables for the answer, the yield, the number of fruits per plant, the fresh weight of the fruit and the length of the fruit are considered. Phenotypic yield stability analyses were carried out using the methods proposed by Eberhart and Russell, and Lin and Binns. Results. The results demonstrated the existence of a significant genotype-environment interaction for variables associated with fruit yield. Through the analysis of the productive behavior of materials in different environments, it was possible to identify the advanced lines L61 and L7 as outstanding genotypes with statistically superior yields (p ≤ 0.05) in the regional test used and with fruit characteristics according to the requirements of the regional fresh consumption market. Conclusions. The L61 and L7 genotypes showed the best adaptation to the different environments evaluated and the greatest productive potential. The Banana Zone environment achieved the highest yields, with 59.11 t ha-1 for L61 and 55.05 t ha-1 for L7.

Abstract This narrative review explores the potential role of estetrol (E4), a natural estrogenic steroid, in contraception, analyzing its pharmacological properties, effectiveness, and safety. Preclinical studies, clinical trials, and safety assessments of E4/DRSP (drospirenone) as a combined oral contraceptive (COC) were reviewed. The impact on endocrine, metabolic, and hemostatic parameters, as well as tolerability, was investigated. In results, E4 exhibits lower affinity for estrogen transmembrane receptor-α but maintains agonistic activity on nuclear receptors. E4/DRSP proved to be an effective COC with regular and predictable bleeding cycles in most women. Tolerability was favorable with mild or moderate adverse events and low discontinuation rates. Bleeding was the most common adverse event, and rare cases of aura migraines, deep vein thrombosis, hyperkalemia, and depression were reported. E4/DRSP had minimal impact on lipid, hepatic, sex hormone-binding globulin, and carbohydrate metabolism parameters, with a neutral or minimal effect on hemostatic parameters. The conclusion is that E4/DRSP seems to be an effective and safe contraceptive option, with reduced thrombotic risk and minimal impact on endocrine and metabolic parameters. Further research is needed to confirm long-term safety and efficacy.

Resumen Esta revisión narrativa explora el papel potencial del estetrol (E4), un esteroide estrogénico natural, en la anticoncepción, analizando sus propiedades farmacológicas, su efectividad y su seguridad. Se revisaron estudios preclínicos, ensayos clínicos y evaluaciones de seguridad del E4 como anticonceptivo oral combinado (AOC). Se investigó el impacto en parámetros endocrinos, metabólicos y hemostáticos, así como su tolerabilidad. En los resultados, el E4 tiene menor afinidad por el receptor de estrógeno-α de membrana, pero mantiene la actividad agonista en los receptores nucleares. E4/DRSP (drospirenona) demostró ser un AOC eficaz, con ciclos de sangrado regulares y predecibles en la mayoría de las mujeres. La tolerabilidad fue favorable, con eventos adversos leves o moderados y bajas tasas de interrupción. El sangrado fue el evento adverso más común, y se reportaron casos raros de migrañas con aura, trombosis venosa profunda, hiperpotasemia y depresión. E4/DRSP tuvo mínimo impacto en los parámetros lipídicos, hepáticos, de globulina fijadora de hormonas sexuales y de metabolismo de hidratos de carbono, y efecto neutral o mínimo en los parámetros hemostáticos. Se concluye que E4/DRSP parece ser una opción anticonceptiva eficaz y segura, con reducido riesgo trombótico y mínimo impacto en los parámetros endocrinos y metabólicos. Se requiere más investigación para confirmar su seguridad y eficacia a largo plazo.

Resumen Introducción: El cáncer de vesícula biliar es una de las neoplasias más frecuentes de la vía biliar y la mayoría de los casos se diagnostican de forma incidental o en estadios avanzados. En Colombia existen pocas publicaciones acerca de la prevalencia y características clínicas de pacientes con cáncer insospechado de vesícula biliar. El objetivo de este trabajo fue actualizar la información existente. Métodos: Estudio de tipo transversal basado en registros médicos. Como variable de resultado se definió el hallazgo incidental de patología maligna reportado por un patólogo y el subtipo histológico. Se midieron variables demográficas, clínicas y quirúrgicas. Se calcularon OR con sus respectivos intervalos de confianza (IC95%). Resultados: De los 2630 casos analizados, en cuatro se hizo diagnóstico de cáncer incidental de vesícula, con una prevalencia del 0,15 %. Se encontraron como características asociadas al cáncer incidental de vesícula, la edad, el antecedente de cáncer y la presencia de pólipos. Conclusiones: Esta es una patología poco frecuente en la población evaluada, lo que permite afirmar que no es necesario realizar estudios prequirúrgicos más amplios de forma rutinaria, a menos que el paciente presente alguno de los factores asociados.

Abstract Introduction: Gallbladder cancer is one of the most common neoplasms of the bile duct and most cases are diagnosed incidentally or in advanced stages. In Colombia, there are few publications about the prevalence and clinical characteristics of patients with unsuspected gallbladder cancer. The objective of this work was to update the existing information. Methods: Cross-sectional study based on medical records. The incidental finding of malignant pathology reported and the histological subtype were defined as the outcome variable. Demographic, clinical and surgical variables were measured. ORs were calculated with their respective 95% CI. Results: Of the 2630 cases analyzed, four were diagnosed with incidental gallbladder cancer, with a prevalence of 0.15%. Characteristics associated with incidental gallbladder cancer were age, history of cancer and the presence of polyps. Conclusions: This is a rare pathology in the population evaluated, which allows us to recommend that it is not necessary to routinely perform more extensive presurgical studies, unless the patient presents any of the associated factors.

Resumen Se estimó la exactitud de la predicción (EP) de valores genómicos estimados (GEBV) para variables de peso vivo de ganado Charolais utilizando dos métodos de validación cruzada. Se ajustó un modelo BLUP y diferentes métodos de predicción genómica (PG) Genomic-based best linear unbiased prediction (GBLUP), Bayes C (BC) y Single-step Bayesian regression (SSBR). La EP fue comparada mediante grupos de validación (GV) formados aleatoriamente y mediante GC. Los resultados mostraron que los tres métodos de PG proporcionaron exactitudes de predicción similares entre los GV pero no exactitudes de predicción superiores a BLUP. La exactitud de predicción de GBLUP y BLUP fue 0.35 y 0.37 para PN, y de 0.30 y 0.41 para PD, respectivamente. Los resultados muestran bajas exactitudes de PG bajo los escenarios evaluados; por lo que para su correcta implementación es necesario incrementar el número de animales y usar valorees genéticos desregresados como variables de respuesta.

Abstract The accuracy of the estimation (AE) of the genomic breeding values (GEBV) of live weight traits of registered Charolais cattle using two cross validation methods was assessed. A BLUP model and different genomic prediction (PG) methods were fitted: Genomic-based best linear unbiased prediction (GBLUP), Bayes C (BC) and Single-step Bayesian regression (SSBR). AE was compared using randomly formed validation groups (VGs) and CGs. The results showed that all three PG methods provided similar prediction accuracies among GVs but not higher prediction accuracies than BLUP. The prediction accuracy of GBLUP and BLUP was 0.35 and 0.37 for PN, and 0.30 and 0.41 for PD, respectively. The results show that the PG accuracies under the evaluated scenarios are low; Therefore, for its correct implementation, it is necessary to increase the number of animals and use de-returned genetic values as response variables.

ABSTRACT Fatty acids from fish are of great interest for human consumption, and the channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) is one of the most important aquaculture species in Mexico and perhaps in other countries with similar resource endowments. Channel catfish occupy a trophic level that theoretically and potentially allows the retention and de novo biosynthesis of long-chain fatty acids (FAs), essential for human nutrition and health. Here, we present an overview of the main features of FAs, their reported average levels and extreme values in channel catfish assessments, and their correlations. The importance of FAs for human consumption and some implications for future research are discussed.

RESUMEN Fundamentos: La Alfabetización en Salud Limitada implica una comprensión insuficiente de la información relevante en salud, asociándose con diversas variables. El objetivo del estudio fue medir la prevalencia del nivel de Alfabetización en Salud Sexual y Reproductiva (AS-SR) Limitada, sus variables asociadas y las diferencias de puntajes entre niveles de AS-SR, universidades y ciencia de estudio en universitarios chilenos. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio multicéntrico y transversal, que aplicó una escala validada para medir niveles de AS-SR, en una muestra de 2.186 estudiantes universitarios chilenos, categorizándola en alta, media-alta, media-baja y baja. El nivel de AS-SR Limitada se obtuvo mediante el sumatorio de categorías media-baja y baja. Se realizaron pruebas: descriptivas, psicométricas y fiabilidad; asociación, regresión logística y de diferencias entre variables de interés. Resultados: La prevalencia de AS-SR Limitada fue del 52,7%. Las variables mayormente asociadas al nivel de AS-SR Limitada fueron: bajo interés en información sobre atención en salud (OR=2,819; IC 95%:2,132-3,726), prevención (OR=2,564; IC 95%: 1,941-3,388), sexualidad (OR=2,497; IC 95%: 1,807-3,452) y promoción de la salud (OR=1,515; IC 95%: 1,239-1,853); ciertas fuentes de Información (OR=1,915; IC 95%:1,614-2,272); bajo ingreso económico (OR=1,661; IC 95%: 1,361-2,026), entre otras. Existieron diferencias estadísticamente significativas de puntajes entre categorías de niveles de AS-SR, universidades y ciencia de estudio. La escala presentó fiabilidad de 0,940. Conclusiones: Más de la mitad de los estudiantes poseen AS-SR Limitada, asociada principalmente al bajo interés en información en salud. La escala presenta excelentes indicadores psicométricos, siendo recomendable para diagnósticos de situación de salud.

ABSTRACT Background: Limited Health Literacy implies an insufficient understanding of relevant health information, being associated with various variables. The objective of the study was to measure the prevalence of the level of Limited Sexual and Reproductive Health Literacy (AS-SR), its associated variables and the differences in scores between levels of AS-SR, universities and science of study in Chilean university students. Methods: A multicenter and cross-sectional study, which applied a validated scale to measure levels of AS-SR, was carried out in a sample of 2,186 Chilean university students, categorizing it as high, medium high, medium low and low. The level of Limited AS-SR was obtained by adding the medium-low and low categories. Tests were carried out: descriptive, psychometric and reliability; association, logistic regression and differences between variables of interest. Results: The prevalence of Limited AS-SR was 52.7%. The variables most associated with the level of Limited AS-SR were: low interest in information about health care (OR=2.819; 95% CI: 2.132-3.726), prevention (OR=2.564; 95% CI: 1.941-3.388), sexuality (OR=2.497; 95% CI: 1.807-3.452) and health promotion (OR=1.515; 95% CI: 1.239-1.853); certain sources of Information (OR=1.915; 95% CI:1.614-2.272); low economic income (OR=1.661; 95% CI: 1.361-2.026), among others. There were statistically significant differences in scores between categories of AS-SR levels, universities and study science. The scale had a reliability of 0.940. Conclusions: More than half of the students have Limited AS-SR, mainly associated with low interest in health information. The scale presents excellent psychometric indicators, being recommended for diagnoses of health situations.

ABSTRACT The autopsy is the medical procedure to obtain information about the causes of death and processes that affected the individual. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out at “XX Anniversary” Polyclinic from 2015 to 2019. A number of 68 autopsies were processed; the final report was collected from the autopsy protocol, medical death certificates and clinical summary of the deceased; data were entered into the Automated Registration and Control System from the department of Pathological Anatomy at "Cmdte. Manuel Fajardo Rivero" Clinical and Surgical University Hospital. Bronchopneumonia and pulmonary thromboembolism as direct causes as well as generalized atherosclerosis as a basic cause showed the highest discrepancy figures. Clinical and pathological discrepancy proved to be an important quality indicator to evaluate the care process of primary health care institutions because it improves scientific knowledge and quality in the preparation of the medical death certificate.

RESUMEN La autopsia es el procedimiento médico para obtener información sobre las causas de muerte y procesos que afectaban al individuo. Se realizó una investigación descriptiva, transversal, en el policlínico «XX Aniversario», en el período 2015 al 2019. Se procesaron 68 autopsias; el informe final se recogió del protocolo de autopsia, certificado médico de defunción y resumen clínico del fallecido; los datos fueron introducidos en el Sistema Automatizado de Registro y Control del Departamento de Anatomía Patológica en el Hospital Universitario Clínico-Quirúrgico «Cmdte. Manuel Fajardo Rivero». La bronconeumonía y el tromboembolismo pulmonar, entre las causas directas, y la aterosclerosis generalizada, como causa básica, mostraron las cifras de discrepancias más elevadas. La discrepancia clínico patológica demostró ser un indicador de calidad importante, para evaluar el proceso asistencial de las instituciones de atención primaria de salud, porque mejora el conocimiento científico y calidad en la confección del certificado médico de defunción.

ABSTRACT Wild lettuce (Lactuca aff. canadensis L.), belonging to the Asteraceae family, occurs subspontaneously in Brazil and may originate from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Popularly known as Canada lettuce, it is an unconventional leafy vegetable. Studies on this species are scarce in Brazil, and its scientific name is debated among experts. It has high morphological variability and controversial botanical classification. This study characterized the stomata, organized the karyotype, and determined the nuclear DNA content of four morphotypes of wild lettuce to facilitate correct classification. The genetic material used was acquired from the non-conventional vegetable germplasm in UFLA. The leaves of wild lettuce morphotypes are hypoamphiestomatic with a greater number of stomata in the abaxial epidermis. There were similarities between the morphotypes (green and purple) and between the smooth purple types (narrow leaf and broad leaf) for the number and size of stomata. No variation was found in the number of chromosomes (2n = 18) or DNA content among the four morphotypes. The separation of the morphotypes of wild lettuce did not match the morphological classification or the karyological data. The four morphotypes evaluated were placed under the same species, and the results obtained when compared to other studies led us to infer that the four morphotypes of wild Lactuca belonged to the species L. indica and not L. canadensis as previously assumed. Further investigation may provide insights into the evolutionary history of this species.

RESUMO A alface silvestre (Lactuca aff. canadensis L.), pertencente à família Asteraceae, ocorre de forma subespontânea no Brasil e pode ser originária da África, Ásia, Europa e América do Norte. Popularmente conhecida como alface canadense, é um vegetal folhoso não convencional. Os estudos sobre esta espécie são escassos no Brasil e seu nome científico é debatido entre especialistas. Possui alta variabilidade morfológica e classificação botânica controversa. Este estudo caracterizou os estômatos, organizou o cariótipo e determinou o conteúdo de DNA nuclear de quatro morfotipos de alface silvestre para facilitar a classificação correta. O material genético utilizado foi adquirido do germoplasma vegetal não convencional da UFLA. As folhas dos morfotipos de alface silvestre são hipoanfiestomáticas com maior número de estômatos na epiderme abaxial. Houve semelhanças entre os morfotipos (verde e roxo) e entre os tipos roxos lisos (folha estreita e folha larga) quanto ao número e tamanho dos estômatos. Nenhuma variação foi encontrada no número de cromossomos (2n = 18) ou no conteúdo de DNA entre os quatro morfotipos. A separação dos morfotipos de alface silvestre não correspondeu à classificação morfológica nem aos dados cariológicos. Os quatro morfotipos avaliados foram colocados sob a mesma espécie, e os resultados obtidos quando comparados com outros estudos nos levaram a inferir que os quatro morfotipos de Lactuca selvagem pertenciam à espécie L. indica e não a L. canadensis como se supunha anteriormente. Investigações adicionais podem fornecer conhecimento sobre a história evolutiva desta espécie.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Estimar heredabilidades (h2) de edad al primer parto (AFP), longevidad (L), vida útil (UL) y productividad (P), y las correlaciones fenotípicas y genéticas (rg) entre esos caracteres en vacas Suizo Pardo (SP) y Holstein en el Noroeste de Honduras. Materiales y métodos: El ganado fue criado en condiciones tropicales y manejado intensivamente. El modelo para AFP incluyó el grupo contemporáneo (GC, combinación de hato, año y época de nacimiento) como fijo. Para L, UL y P, el modelo incluyó al GC, grupo de edad al primer parto y su interacción. Los datos se analizaron utilizando el procedimiento de máxima verosimilitud restringida (REML), ajustado a un modelo animal univariado y bivariado. Resultados: Las h2 estimadas para AFP, L, UL y P fueron 0.16, 0.18, 0.25 y 0.09, en vacas SP; y 0.53, 0.49, 0.7 y 0.22 en H, respectivamente. Las rg fueron negativas pero favorables para las vacas SP en un rango de 0.31 a 0.46 entre AFP y los otros rasgos. Sin embargo, para las vacas H, se encontró una rg positiva entre AFP y las demás características que osciló entre 0.49 y 0.96. En ambas razas, las rg entre L, UL y P fueron positivas. Conclusiones: Para los rasgos evaluados, la h2 baja a media para BS sugiere que la mejora genética sería lenta si se aplicará selección independiente esperándose una mejor respuesta para la raza H. Para ambas razas las rg positivas sugieren que se podrían utilizar criterios de selección similares para L, UL y P.

ABSTRACT Objective: To estimate the heritability (h2) of age at first parturition (AFP), longevity (L), useful life (UL), and productivity (P), as well as the genetic (rg) and phenotypic correlations between those traits in Brown Swiss and Holstein cows in Northwestern Honduras. Materials and methods: Cattle were raised under tropical conditions and intensive management. The model for AFP assessed the effect of contemporary group (herd, year and birth season combination) as fixed. The model used for L, UL and P included the contemporary group, age group at first calving and their interaction. Data were analyzed using restricted maximum likelihood procedure, adjusted to a univariate and to a bivariate animal model. Results: The h2 estimated for AFP, L, UL and P were 0.16, 0.18, 0.25 and 0.09, respectively, in Brown Swiss cows, and 0.53, 0.49, 0.7 and 0.22, respectively in Holstein. Negative but favorable rg among Brown Swiss cow traits ranged from 0.31 to 0.46 between AFP and the other traits. However, for Holsteins cows, positive rg among AFP and the other traits here studied varied from 0.49 to 0.96. In both cattle breeds, rg among L, UL and P, traits were positive. Conclusions: For all traits evaluated low to medium heritability's for BS suggest that a slow genetic improvement could be achieved if independent selection of traits is applied, and better response could be expected for H breed. For both breeds the positive rg among L, UL and P suggest thar similar selection criteria could be used.

RESUMEN Fundamento: El PDSQ (Psychiatric Diagnostic Screening Questionnaire) es un cuestionario autoadministrado para el cribado de diagnósticos psiquiátricos del eje I. El objetivo es estudiar sus propiedades psicométricas en pacientes ambulatorios españoles y analizar su relación con dos entrevistas (de psicopatología y de trastornos de personalidad), y con variables clínicas y demográficas. Material y métodos: Se administraron los instrumentos PDSQ, MINI-Plus, SAPAS, y LTE-Q a 375 pacientes en dos centros ambulatorios públicos. Se estudió la fiabilidad del PDSQ (α de Cronbach). La validez de grupos-conocidos se analizó comparando sub-grupos organizados por variables demográficas y clínicas (regresión logística binaria) y por diagnósticos MINI Plus (U de Mann-Whitney). Se estudió el desempeño diagnóstico del PDSQ considerando los diagnósticos MINI Plus como gold standard (análisis ROC). Resultados:. La consistencia interna del PDSQ fue adecuada en todas las escalas (α >0,7; media=0,85). Las comparaciones entre grupos-conocidos fueron satisfactorias. Mujeres y hombres mostraron prevalencias mayores de trastornos internalizantes y externalizantes, respectivamente. Una menor edad, más sucesos vitales y limitaciones, puntuaciones mayores en SAPAS y niveles económicos más bajos se relacionaron con mayor número de diagnósticos PDSQ. Los grupos basados en los correspondienes diganósticos MINI-Plus difirieron en todas las escalas del PDSQ. Los valores medios de sensibilidad, AUC y valor predictivo negativo fueron 88,7; 0,82 y 96,7, respectivamente. Conclusiones: En su aplicación a pacientes españoles ambulatorios, el PDSQ muestra, propiedades psicométricas satisfactorias y relaciones adecuadas con entrevistas de psicopatología y personalidad, así como con variables clínicas y demográficas. El PDSQ es adecuado para evaluar comorbilidad y dimensiones de psicopatología.

ABSTRACT Background: The self-report Psychiatric Diagnostic Screening Questionnaire PDSQ is designed to screen Axis I psychiatric disorders. We aim to determine its psychometric properties in Spanish outpatients and assess its relationship with two interviews (for psychopathology and for personality disorders) and clinical/demographic variables. Methodology: We administered the study questionnaire, the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview Plus (MINI-Plus), the Standardised Assessment of Personality Abbreviated Scale (SAPAS), and the List of Threatening Experiences Questionnaire (LTE-Q) to 375 patients at two public outpatient centres. Reliability of the study questionnaire was evaluated (Cronbach’s alpha, α) and known-group validity measured by comparing groups based on demographic and clinical variables (binary logistic regression analysis) and MINI-Plus diagnoses (Mann-Whitney U). The diagnostic accuracy of the study questionnaire score was analysed taking the MINI-Plus diagnoses as the gold standard (ROC analysis). Results: Internal consistency was adequate across all PDSQ scales (α >0.7; mean α=0.85). Known-group comparisons were satisfactory. Female and male patients showed higher prevalence of internalizing and externalizing diagnoses, respectively. Younger age, more life events and limitations, higher SAPAS scores, and lower economic levels were linked to a greater number of PDSQ diagnoses. Inter-group differences were found for all PDSQ scales based on the corresponding MINI-Plus diagnoses. Mean values of sensitivity, AUC, and negative predictive value were 88.7, 0.82, and 96.7, respectively. Conclusions: When applied to a sample of Spanish outpatients, the PDSQ exhibits satisfactory psychometric properties and adequate relationships with the psychopathology and personality interviews, and clinical and demographic variables. The study questionnaire is suitable for assessing comorbidity and psychopathology dimensions.

Resumen Objetivo. Este ensayo tiene por objetivo reflexionar acerca de las limitaciones y posibilidades de la labor docente respecto de la educación ecocientífica en el actual contexto planetario de crisis ambiental. Discusión. En un primer momento se evidencian algunos hallazgos investigativos en la materia, para luego adentrarse en ciertos análisis epistemológicos y didácticos referidos a la cuestión ambiental desde la mirada ecocientífica, reconociendo posibilidades y limitaciones desde la acción docente. Posteriormente, se reflexiona como los saberes eco científicos, de transdisciplinariedad y de complementariedad toman cada vez mayor significado y comienzan a ingresar a la esfera educativa y social como nuevos enfoques de aprehensión de realidades. Conclusión. Existen obstáculos epistemológicos y didácticos que deben ser superados para lograr el cambio deseado, sobre todo, en tópicos vinculados a cuestiones ecocientíficas. Considerar los contextos de aprendizaje es otro gran desafío, estos permiten el desarrollo de competencias y actitudes ecociudadanas cargadas de saberes localizados y aprendizajes colectivos. Finalmente, en la formación inicial docente se constata un reduccionismo de la enseñanza eco científica y se hace necesario generar espacios de enseñanza y aprendizaje que fomenten la reflexión, el cuestionamiento, el debate, y el intercambio de saberes individuales, locales y territoriales.

Abstract Objective. This essay aims to reflect on the limitations and possibilities of teaching eco-scientific education in the current planetary context of the environmental crisis. Discussion. This essay presents investigative findings on the subject, followed by epistemological and didactic analyses related to the environmental issue from the eco-scientific perspective. The paper recognizes the possibilities and limitations of teaching action. The essay then reflects on how eco-scientific knowledge, transdisciplinarity, and complementarity are gaining increasing importance and entering the educational and social sphere as new approaches to apprehending realities. Conclusion. There are epistemological and didactic obstacles that must be overcome to achieve the desired change, especially in topics related to eco-scientific issues. Considering the learning contexts is another great challenge; these facilitate the development of eco-citizen skills and attitudes loaded with localized knowledge and collective learning. Finally, in initial teacher training, there is reductionism in eco-scientific teaching, and it is necessary to create teaching and learning spaces that encourage reflection, questioning, debate, and the exchange of individual, local, and territorial knowledge.

Resumo Objetivo. O objetivo deste ensaio é refletir sobre as limitações e possibilidades do ensino da educação ecocientífica no atual contexto planetário de crise ambiental. Discussão. Inicialmente, apresentam-se alguns resultados de pesquisas sobre o tema. Em seguida, aprofundam-se análises epistemológicas e didáticas relacionadas à questão ambiental na perspectiva ecocientífica, reconhecendo possibilidades e limitações da ação docente. Posteriormente, discute-se como o conhecimento ecocientífico, a transdisciplinaridade e a complementaridade adquirem cada vez mais significados e passam a fazer parte da esfera educacional e social como novas abordagens para apreensão das realidades. Conclusão. Existem obstáculos epistemológicos e didáticos que devem ser superados para alcançar a mudança desejada, especialmente em temas relacionados às questões ecocientíficas. Considerar os contextos de aprendizagem é outro grande desafio; estes permitem o desenvolvimento de habilidades e atitudes ecocidadãs carregadas de conhecimento localizado e aprendizagem coletiva. Por fim, é necessário destacar que na formação inicial de professores há um reducionismo no ensino ecocientífico e que é preciso criar espaços de ensino e aprendizagem que estimulem a reflexão, o questionamento, o debate e a troca de saberes individuais, locais e territoriais.

Resumen Se reconoce la participación de la oxitocina en el control de la alimentación, pero su mecanismo de acción no se ha establecido totalmente. Por tanto, el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto del acceso intermitente a una solución de sacarosa, sobre la expresión de las neuronas del núcleo paraventricular (PVN) y del núcleo supraótico (SON) que producen oxitocina (Oxt), y caracterizar la microestructura de la conducta de beber en ratas saciadas. Se tuvieron tres grupos de ratas macho Wistar saciadas, y en la primera hora al inicio del periodo de luz, el grupo Control tuvo agua, el grupo Restringido 5g de una solución de sacarosa al 20% y el grupo Ad libitum acceso libre a la solución de sacarosa. Los sujetos incrementaron el consumo de la solución de sacarosa a pesar de estar saciados; debido a la interrupción del estado de saciedad y la demora de la satisfacción. La actividad de las neuronas de Oxt se incrementó en ambos núcleos, en el grupo Restringido la mayor expresión se observó en el SON y en el grupo Ad libitum en el PVN. No se encontró correlación entre la cantidad de bebida ingerida y la actividad de las neuronas Oxt.

Abstract The role of oxytocin in feeding control is recognized, but its mechanism of action has not been fully established. Therefore, the aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of intermittent access to a sucrose solution on the expression of paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and supraotic nucleus (SON) neurons that produce oxytocin (Oxt), and to characterize the microstructure of drinking behavior in satiated rats. Three groups of male Wistar rats satiated were used, and in the first hour at the beginning of the light period, a Control group had water, a Restricted group 5g of a 20% sucrose solution and Ad libitum group with free access to sucrose solution. The experimental subjects increased the consumption of the sucrose solution despite being satiated, due to the interruption of the state of satiety and the delay of the satiation process. Oxt neurons increased their activity in both nuclei, in the Restricted group the highest expression was observed in the SON and in the Ad libitum group in the PVN. No correlation was found between the amount of drink ingested and the activity of Oxt neurons.

ABSTRACT The objective is to determine the nursing staff's perception of the organizational climate at the Prof. Dr. Manuel Gianni Trauma Hospital in Asunción Paraguay in 2022. A cross-sectional descriptive observational design with an analytical component was used. 106 nursing staff from the Prof. Dr. Manuel Giagni Trauma Hospital who agreed to answer an online survey for convenience were included. The questionnaire recommended by the Pan American Health Organization was used, consisting of 80 items distributed in 4 dimensions and 16 subdimensions. The most relevant results were: The Leadership dimension had the highest score (x̄=3.07) while the lowest corresponded to the Participation dimension (x̄=2.66). The frequency of satisfaction was around 50% for all dimensions; it was higher in the Leadership dimension (57%) and lower in the Participation dimension (44%). No associations were found between the organizational climate and sociodemographic and work characteristics. It is concluded that there is a significant proportion of nursing professionals who were dissatisfied with the work environment. It is recommended to implement motivation strategies and incentives such as recognition, job promotion, training that allow the satisfaction of the nursing staff in the institution.

RESUMEN El objetivo es determinar la percepción del personal de enfermería sobre el clima organizacional en el Hospital de Trauma Prof. Dr. Manuel Gianni de Asunción Paraguay en el 2022. Se utilizó un diseño observacional descriptivo de corte transversal con componente analítico. Se incluyeron a 106 personales de enfermería del Hospital de trauma Prof. Dr. Manuel Giagni que aceptaron responder una encuesta online por conveniencia. Se utilizó el cuestionario recomendado por la Organización Panamericana de la Salud que consta de 80 ítems distribuidos en 4 dimensiones y 16 subdimensiones. Los resultados más relevantes fueron: La dimensión Liderazgo tuvo la mayor puntuación (x̄=3,07) mientras que la más baja correspondió a la dimensión Participación x̄ (=2,66). La frecuencia de satisfacción fue alrededor del 50% para todas las dimensiones; fue mayor en la dimensión Liderazgo (57%) y menor en la dimensión Participación (44%). No se encontraron asociaciones entre el clima organizacional y las características sociodemográficas y laborales. Se concluye que existe una importante proporción de los profesionales de enfermería que presentaba insatisfacción con el entorno laboral. Se recomienda implementar estrategias de motivación e incentivos como es el reconocimiento, promoción de puesto, capacitaciones que permitan la satisfacción del personal de enfermería en la institución.

Objective: Childhood maltreatment (CM) is a significant risk factor for the development and severity of bipolar disorder (BD) with increased risk of suicide attempts (SA). This study evaluated whether a machine learning algorithm could be trained to predict if a patient with BD has a history of CM or previous SA based on brain metabolism measured by positron emission tomography. Methods: Thirty-six euthymic patients diagnosed with BD type I, with and without a history of CM were assessed using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire. Suicide attempts were assessed through the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI-Plus) and a semi-structured interview. Resting-state positron emission tomography with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose was conducted, electing only grey matter voxels through the Statistical Parametric Mapping toolbox. Imaging analysis was performed using a supervised machine learning approach following Gaussian Process Classification. Results: Patients were divided into 18 participants with a history of CM and 18 participants without it, along with 18 individuals with previous SA and 18 individuals without such history. The predictions for CM and SA were not significant (accuracy = 41.67%; p = 0.879). Conclusion: Further investigation is needed to improve the accuracy of machine learning, as its predictive qualities could potentially be highly useful in determining histories and possible outcomes of high-risk psychiatric patients.
