ABSTRACT The study aimed to evaluate the combined use of ultrasound (US) and incorporation of micronized salt (MS) as a strategy for reducing sodium without affecting the quality of beef burgers. Ten treatments were manufactured with varying MS content (0.75 %, 1.0 %, and 1.5 %) and ultrasound time (0, 5, and 10 min), with a control treatment manufactured at 1.5 % of regular salt without ultrasound. The beef burgers formulated with 0.75 % MS submitted to the US for 10 min (M0.75US10) reduced the salt content by 50 %, thereby efficiently maintaining texture profile (hardness, springiness, cohesiveness, and chewiness) and decreasing the cooking loss and diameter reduction compared to the control treatment. M0.75US10 treatment also preserved the color of samples after cooking, keeping myoglobin stable. Therefore, micronized salt coupled with ultrasound technology reduces sodium chloride content in beef burgers, enabling the application of clean technology to reduce sodium content in meat products efficiently.

Resumen Introducción. El sistema de producción de cacao forma parte de la agricultura colombiana en las subregiones de Montes de María y La Mojana en el departamento de Sucre. En la literatura no hay evidencia de un estudio de caracterización y tipificación del sistema de producción. Objetivo. Analizar los aspectos socioeconómicos y tecnológicos del cultivo del cacao para la subregión de los Montes de María y La Mojana, y definir grupos homogéneos de productores que compartan las mismas características que sirvan de dominio de recomendación. Materiales y métodos. Se diseñaron y aplicaron encuestas a los agricultores de la región de Montes de María y La Mojana durante el año 2019. Se seleccionaron, por muestreo determinístico, veintidós agricultores. El análisis consistió en la tipificación de los agricultores por el método de distancias y agrupamiento jerárquico de Ward. Resultados. Se obtuvieron tres grupos de agricultores. El grupo GI con nivel tecnológico bajo, la escolaridad de los agricultores fue primaria incompleta, la producción presentó bajos rendimientos (420 kg ha-1). El Grupo GII agricultores con secundaria incompleta, rendimientos más altos que los del GI (491 kg ha-1), incorporaban prácticas como podas de formación y mantenimiento. El grupo GIII con mayor nivel de escolaridad, uso de opciones tecnológicas como mejores materiales de siembra y técnicas de manejo del cultivo, obtuvieron los rendimientos más altos entre todos los agricultores (550 kg ha-1). Conclusión. Las fincas tipificadas mostraron diferencias entre los grupos y se llegó a concluir que el grupo G3 fue el que obtuvo mayor rendimiento por hectárea, lo cual se atribuyó a la incorporación de nuevas tecnologías.

Abstract Introduction. The cocoa production system is an integral part of Colombian agriculture in the subregions of Montes de María and La Mojana in the department of Sucre. There is currently no evidence in the literature regarding a characterization and typification of the study of this production system. Objective. To analyze the socio-economic and technological aspects of cocoa cultivation in the Montes de María and La Mojana subregions and define homogeneous groups of producers sharing similar characteristics that serve as recommendation domains. Materials and methods. Surveys were designed and conducted among farmers in the Montes de María and La Mojana region during 2019. Twenty-two farmers were selected through deterministic sampling. The analysis involved the typification of farmers using the distance method and Ward's hierarchical clustering. Results. Three groups of farmers were identified. Group GI exhibited a low technological level, with farmers having incomplete primary education and low yields (420 kg ha-1). Group GII consisted of farmers with incomplete secondary education, achieving higher yields than GI (491 kg ha-1) and incorporating practices like formation and maintenance pruning. Group GIII had a higher level of education, used technological options such as improved planting materials and crop management techniques, and obtained the highest yields among all farmers (550 kg ha-1). Conclusion. The typified farms displayed differences among the groups, concluding that group G3 achieved the highest yields per hectare, attributed to the adoption of new technologies.

Resumen: Evaluar si los sistemas de instrumentación de lima única, como WaveOne Gold y Reciproc son efectivos para reducir la carga microbiana de un biofilm mixto y la limpieza del tercio apical, comparado con los sistemas de limas múltiples, como Twisted File Adaptive. Setenta raíces mesiales de primeros y segundos molares fueron incluidos y divididos de forma aleatoria en tres grupos experimentales (n=20, n=10 controles). El biofilm fue formado en el interior de los conductos durante 31 días. Después se instrumentó con los sistemas de lima única (WaveOne Gold y Reciproc) y el sistema de limas múltiples Twisted File Adaptive, usando hipoclorito de sodio al 2.5% en todos los casos. El conteo de unidades formadoras de colonias se realizó usando diluciones seriales, la limpieza del tercio apical se evaluó empleando el microscopio electrónico de barrido. La comparación entre grupos se realizó con pruebas paramétricas y no paramétricas, de acuerdo con la distribución normal y no normal de los datos, respectivamente. No hubo una diferencia significativa en la reducción de la carga microbiana después de emplear los sistemas de lima única en comparación a los de limas múltiples, además, la limpieza del tercio apical fue similar en los 3 diferentes sistemas de instrumentación. Los sistemas de lima única son igual de efectivos para reducir la carga microbiana comparados con los sistemas de limas múltiples.

Abstract: To evaluate whether the WaveOne Gold and Reciproc single file instrumentation systems, are effective in reducing the microbial load of a mixed biofilm and the cleaning of apical third compared to the Twisted File Adaptive system (multiple- file system). Seventy mesial roots of the first and second molars were included and randomly divided into three experimental groups (n=20, n=10 controls). Biofilms were formed inside canals over 31 days. After instrumentation with the unique file systems, WaveOne Gold and Reciproc and the multiple file system Twisted File Adaptive, using 2.25% sodium hypochlorite as an irrigant in all cases, a count of colony forming units was performed using serial dilutions, cleaning of the apical third was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy. Comparisons amongst groups were made by using parametric and non-parametric statistics, according to a normal or non-normal data distribution, respectively. No significant differences in the reduction of the microbial load after employing a single-file system in comparison to the multiple-file system were found; in addition, the cleaning of the apical third was similar for the three different instrumentation systems. The single-file system is equal in effectiveness compared with the multiple-file system in reducing the microbial load.

ABSTRACT The family context has an influence on the development and personal well-being, even greater during the adolescence. On this basis, it is sought to analyze the satisfaction of 592 students of Secondary Education regarding their family and life context. To this end, the Family Satisfaction Scale and the Life Satisfaction Scale were used. Through descriptive analyses, contrasts between groups, and correlational analyses, the results presented are positive, although they highlight the need to reinforce issues such as flexibility, adaptability, and the way conflicts are addressed among the members of the family and, on the other hand, pay special attention to the group of adolescents who consider that they do not have a good life, wish a different life or perceive that they do not have what they want in life.

RESUMEN El contexto familiar influye en el desarrollo y bienestar personal, cuestión aún más notable durante la adolescencia. Bajo esta premisa, se busca analizar la satisfacción de 592 alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria respecto a su ámbito familiar y vital. Para ello, se emplearon la Family Satisfaction Scale y la Escala de Satisfacción Vital. Mediante análisis descriptivos, contrastes entre grupos y análisis correlacionales se presentan unos resultados generales positivos, aunque ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de reforzar cuestiones como la flexibilidad, la adaptabilidad y la forma en que se abordan los conflictos en la familia y, por otro lado, prestar especial atención al grupo de adolescentes que consideran no tener una buena vida, desean una vida distinta o perciben que no tienen lo que quieren en la vida.

RESUMO O contexto familiar influencia o desenvolvimento e o bem-estar pessoal, questão ainda mais marcante na adolescência. Sob esta premissa, procurámos analisar a satisfação de 592 estudantes do Ensino Secundário Obrigatório no que diz respeito ao seu ambiente familiar e de vida. Para este fim, foram utilizadas a Escala de Satisfação da Família e a Escala de Satisfação da Vida. Através de análises descritivas, contrastes entre grupos e análises correlacionais, os resultados gerais são positivos, embora sublinhem a necessidade de reforçar questões como a flexibilidade, a adaptabilidade e a forma como os conflitos são tratados na família e, por outro lado, de prestar especial atenção ao grupo de adolescentes que consideram que não têm uma boa vida, desejam uma vida diferente ou percebem que não têm o que querem na vida.

Resumen La nanotecnología es considerada como la revolución industrial del siglo XXI, por esto la obtención y aplicación de nanopartículas (NPs) es de vital interés para muchos rubros de la ciencia e industria. El uso de las NPs-Fe3O4 obtenidas por síntesis verde se extiende desde la cosmética, medicina, remediación ambiental, eléctrica y electrónica, debido a sus características térmicas, ópticas y magnéticas, sin mencionar el bajo costo de producción. En esta revisión se analizan los factores con mayor efecto durante la síntesis de NPs-Fe3O4 como lo son el pH, la temperatura, el tiempo, la cantidad de precursores metálicos y cantidad de metabolitos secundarios; variables que afectan de manera directa el tamaño, forma y morfología de las NPs-Fe3O4.

Abstract Nanotechnology is considered the industrial revolution of the 21st century, for this reason obtaining and applying nanoparticles (NPs) is of vital interest to many areas of science and industry. The use of NPs-Fe3O4 obtained by green synthesis extends from cosmetics, medicine, environmental remediation, electrical and electronics, due to their thermal, optical and magnetic characteristics, not to mention low production cost. In this review, the factors with the greatest effect during the synthesis of NPs-Fe3O4 were analyzed, such as pH, temperature, time, the amount of metal precursors and the concentration of secondary metabolites; variables that arise directly from the size, shape and morphology of NPs- NPs- Fe3O4.

Resumen Las abejas sin aguijón juegan un papel importante para mantener el equilibrio de los ecosistemas en los que habitan al participar activamente en la polinización de la mayoría de las plantas con flores. El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar fisicoquímicamente la miel de Scaptotrigona mexicana de Fortín de las Flores, Cañada Blanca y Manuel León, en Veracruz, México, recolectada en 2017 y 2018. El experimento tuvo una distribución completamente al azar con diseño factorial, con los factores lugar y año de muestreo. El análisis de varianza mostró que la interacción de los factores afectó la actividad de agua, pero no el contenido de hidroximetilfurfural. En la miel de Fortín de las Flores se observaron mayores valores de color, conductividad eléctrica, pH, acidez de lactona y acidez total. El año con los valores más altos registrados de los parámetros medidos fue el 2017. Los datos indican buena calidad de miel joven y que los valores más altos de las variables medidas se observaron en Fortín de las Flores.

Abstract Stingless bees play an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystems they inhabit by actively participating in the pollination of most flowering plants. The objective of this study was to characterize physicochemically honey from the stingless bee species Scaptotrigona mexicana from Fortín de las Flores, Cañada Blanca, and Manuel León, in Veracruz, Mexico, collected in 2017 and 2018. The experimental design was completely randomized, with two factors: location and year of sampling. The analysis of variance showed that the interaction of factors affected water activity, but not hydroxymethylfurfural content. In honey from Fortín de las Flores, greater values for color, electrical conductivity, pH, lactone acidity, and total acidity were observed. The year with the highest recorded values of the measured parameters was 2017. The data obtained indicate Good quality of young honey and that the highest values of the measured variables were observed in Fortín de las Flores.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the description of an experience carried out in a Spanish distance university, which was based on the principles of universal design for learning and cognitive accessibility to promote the labour insertion of people with intellectual disabilities. The main objective of the training proposal was to contribute to the development of some competencies that would help students with intellectual disabilities to improve their professional updating for job placement in the Spanish Public Administration. A total of 179 people with intellectual disabilities participated in the course. The results evidenced a high success rate of 89% and a low dropout rate of 11%. Through an ad hoc questionnaire, we evaluated the degree of learners´ satisfaction with different elements of the curricular design for this online learning experience. Particularly, participants reported high satisfaction rates with the selected contents, educational materials and multimedia resources available in the virtual classroom, as well as with the possible benefits of the instruction of emotional self-regulation strategies. It can be concluded that the instructional design has led to high satisfaction and improved the employability abilities of the students to deal with the labour market.

Resumen: El presente artículo describe una experiencia de formación universitaria a distancia, la cual se ha basado en los principios del diseño universal para el aprendizaje y la accesibilidad cognitiva para promover la inserción laboral de personas con discapacidad intelectual. El principal objetivo de esta experiencia formativa fue contribuir al desarrollo de competencias que ayudaran a estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual a avanzar en su actualización profesional para la inserción laboral en la Administración Pública española. Participaron 179 personas con discapacidad intelectual. Los resultados mostraron una tasa de éxito del 89 % y una tasa de abandono del 11 %. A través de un cuestionario ad hoc, se evaluó el grado de satisfacción de los diferentes elementos del diseño curricular de esta experiencia de aprendizaje a distancia. En particular, los participantes mostraron índices de satisfacción elevada con los contenidos seleccionados, los materiales y recursos multimedia disponibles en el aula virtual, así como con los posibles beneficios de la instrucción de estrategias de autorregulación emocional. Cabe concluir que el diseño curricular implementado ha sido muy satisfactorio y ha mejorado las habilidades para el empleo que propicien la inserción laboral de los estudiantes.

Resumen Introducción: la insuficiencia de nutrientes y elementos traza son factores de riesgo para el desarrollo de preeclampsia; estos nutrientes pueden provocar cambios en el estado hematológico que pueden usarse para la prevención de complicaciones durante la gestación. Objetivo: la presente investigación analizará el estado nutrimental y hematológico durante los 3 trimestres de gestación en mujeres gestantes con preeclampsia para evaluar su relación con esta alteración gestacional. Método: se realizó un estudio transversal, descriptivo y analítico en 78 gestantes que acudían a control prenatal, 11 de ellas diagnosticadas de preeclampsia. Los parámetros hematológicos fueron determinados por cartometría hemática. Se aplicó un cuestionario de frecuencia de consumo de alimentos para obtener el perfil de ingesta de nutrientes de las gestantes. Resultados: la presión arterial (PA) del grupo de normotensas fue significativamente menor en comparación con las gestantes con preeclampsia. El perfil hematológico varía durante la gestación y el valor de plaquetas fue significativamente más alto en las gestantes con preeclampsia. El estado nutrimental de las gestantes en el tercer trimestre tuvo mayor consumo de macronutrientes y micronutrientes comparado con el primero y el segundo trimestres de gestación; este mismo patrón se observó en las gestantes con preeclampsia. Las gestantes normotensas tuvieron un mayor aporte de minerales y de vitaminas con respecto a las gestantes con preeclampsia. Conclusión: los valores hematológicos se modifican durante cada trimestre de gestación. Las gestantes con preeclampsia tuvieron valores altos de plaquetas comparadas con las normotensas. Nuestros datos muestran un mayor aporte de minerales y vitaminas en las gestantes normotensas comparadas con aquellas que han desarrollado preeclampsia, por lo que se recomienda que la atención de las gestantes se acompañe de orientación nutrimental para prevenir complicaciones.

Abstract Introduction: nutrient and trace element deficiency are risk factors for the development of preeclampsia; these nutrients induce changes in the hematologic state, which can be used to prevent complications during pregnancy. Objective: this research will analyze the nutritional and hematological status during the 3 trimesters of gestation in pregnant women with preeclampsia to evaluate its association with gestational alterations. Method: a cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytic study was conducted on 78 pregnant women who attended a prenatal control clinic, 11 of whom were diagnosed with preeclampsia. The hematological parameters were determined through hematometry. To get the nutritional intake profile of the pregnant women, a frequency of food consumption questionnaire was used. Results: the normotensive group´s arterial pressure (PA) was significantly lower than that of pregnant women with preeclampsia. The hematological profile changed during pregnancy, and platelet value was much higher in preeclamptic women. The nutritional status of pregnant women in the third trimester consumed more macronutrients and micronutrients than in the first and second trimesters, and this pattern was observed in pregnant women with preeclampsia. When compared to pregnant women with preeclampsia, normotensive women received more minerals and vitamins. Conclusion: hematological values are modified during each trimester of gestation, and pregnant women with preeclampsia had high platelet values compared to normotensive women. Our data show a greater intake of minerals and vitamins in normotensive pregnant women as compared to those who developed preeclampsia; therefore, it is recommended that pregnant women be provided with nutritional guidance in order to prevent pregnant complications.

Resumen Introducción: la decisión de suplementar la nutrición parenteral total (NPT) con emulsiones de los ácidos grasos (AG) omega-3 (Ω3) eicosapentaenoico (EPA) y docosahexaenoico (DHA) de origen marino se basa en los beneficios clínicos obtenidos en distintas situaciones médicas y quirúrgicas, entre los que destacan la reducción de la estancia hospitalaria, de los días de ventilación mecánica, de la incidencia de infecciones y de la mortalidad. Sin embargo, la evidencia en pacientes críticos aún es contradictoria. Objetivo: el objetivo de este ensayo clínico fue analizar el efecto de la suplementación con AG Ω3 EPA/DHA sobre los marcadores de pronóstico clínico: médicos, nutricionales y bioquímicos, en pacientes en estado crítico, en relación con el desenlace. Método: ensayo clínico, controlado, aleatorizado y unicéntrico en 64 pacientes adultos con condición crítica, de los cuales 47 pacientes se aleatorizaron para recibir NPT suplementada con AG Ω3 EPA/DHA a dosis de 0,1 g/kg/día (n = 23) o 0,2 g/kg/día (n = 24), comparados con un grupo de control histórico con NPT sin suplementación (n = 17). Se determinaron de manera basal y al final del soporte nutricional los marcadores de pronóstico clínico: médicos, nutricionales y bioquímicos. Resultados: los dos grupos con suplementación mostraron una reducción estadísticamente significativa de la mortalidad (p < 0,005); los marcadores de pronóstico clínico: SOFA, APACHE II, SAPS 3, NUTRIC, RTL y CRS, fueron consistentes en mostrar una mejoría significativa (p < 0,005) del pronóstico con las dosis de 0,1 y 0,2 g/kg/día de AG Ω3 EPA/DHA, respectivamente. Conclusión: la suplementación de la nutrición parenteral con ácidos grasos AG Ω3 EPA/DHA a dosis de 0,1 g y 0,2 g/kg/día mejora el pronóstico de la recuperación y la probabilidad de sobrevida en los pacientes críticos.

Abstract Introduction: the decision to supplement total parenteral nutrition (TPN) with emulsions of omega-3 (Ω3) eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) fatty acids (FA) of marine origin is based on the clinical benefits obtained in different medical situations and surgical procedures, among which reductions in hospital stay, days of mechanical ventilation, incidence of infections and mortality stand out. However, the evidence in critically ill patients remains contradictory. Objective: the objective of this clinical trial was to analyze the effect of supplementation with EPA/DHA Ω3 FAs on clinical prognostic markers -medical, nutritional and biochemical- in critically ill patients, relating to outcome. Method: a clinical, controlled, randomized, single-center trial in 64 critically ill adult patients, of which 47 patients were randomized to receive TPN supplemented with EPA/DHA Ω3 FAs in doses of 0.1 g/kg/day (n = 23) and 0.2 g/kg/day (n = 24), compared with a historical control group with TPN without supplementation (n = 17). Clinical prognosis markers were determined at baseline and at the end of nutritional support (medical, nutritional and biochemical). Results: the two groups with supplementation showed a statistically significant reduction in mortality (p < 0.005); the clinical prognostic markers SOFA, APACHE II, SAPS 3, NUTRIC, RTL and CRS were consistent in showing a significant improvement (p < 0.005), of prognosis with doses of 0.1 and 0.2 g/kg/day of EPA/DHA Ω3 FAs, respectively. Conclusion: supplementation of parenteral nutrition with EPA/DHA Ω3 fatty acids at doses of 0.1 g and 0.2 g/kg/day improves recovery prognosis and the probability of survival in critically ill patients.

Resumen OBJETIVO: Determinar el nivel de ansiedad de las embarazadas conforme al trimestre de la gestación. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Estudio observacional, correlacional y transversal efectuado en mujeres en curso del primer, segundo y tercer trimestre del embarazo atendidas en el Centro de Salud Base San Martín de Porres, Lima, Perú, entre diciembre de 2021 y febrero de 2022, a quienes se les aplicó el instrumento de tamizaje de ansiedad prenatal (Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale [PASS]) y su variación según el trimestre del embarazo con las pruebas de χ2, Kruskall-Wallis y ANOVA. RESULTADOS: Se estudiaron 153 pacientes en los tres trimestres del embarazo en quienes se encontró: ansiedad prenatal en el 69.9% (n = 107); ansiedad leve en 45.8% (n = 70) y ansiedad moderada-severa en 24.2% (n = 37). El porcentaje es mayor de 100% porque no en todos los trimestres se encontraron síntomas depresivos. Solo 30.1% (n = 46) de las embarazadas no tuvieron síntomas de ansiedad prenatal. La puntuación de ansiedad global mostró un comportamiento diferente según el trimestre de gestación (ANOVA: p = 0,006), con predominio de mayor ansiedad en el primer trimestre seguido del tercero. La comparación por parejas solo mostró diferencias significativas en la puntuación de ansiedad entre el primer y el tercer trimestre (test de Tukey: p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONES: Más de la mitad de las embarazadas cursó con ansiedad, sobre todo en el primer y tercer trimestre y menor en el segundo.

Abstract OBJECTIVE: To determine the anxiety level of pregnant women according to the trimester of gestation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Observational, analytical and prospective study of a random sample of pregnant women attended in a first level facility of the Ministry of Health (MINSA). Anxiety was assessed with the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS) and its variation according to the trimester of pregnancy with the χ2, Kruskall-Wallis and ANOVA tests. RESULTS: The prevalence of anxiety during pregnancy was 69.9% (n = 107) in a sample of 153 patients. Except for the social anxiety dimension (p > 0.05), significant differences were found in the scores of the anxiety dimensions by trimester. They were highest in the first, followed by the third trimester (p < 0.05). The global anxiety score showed different behavior by trimester of pregnancy (ANOVA: p = 0.006), with predominance of higher anxiety in the first trimester followed by the third trimester. Comparison by couples only showed significant differences in anxiety score between the first and third trimester (Tukey test: p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: More than half of the pregnant women had anxiety, especially in the first and third trimester and less in the second trimester.

ABSTRACT During the silver extraction process in mining, the generated residues (called tailings) still contain approximately 100-140 g/ton of silver due to the presence of refractory materials that trap this metal and prevent its solubilization by conventional methods. These residues can be treated by biohydrometallurgical processes allowing, together with the cyanidation process, an increase in the efficiency of silver extraction by eliminating refractory materials such as manganese, which is present as pyrolusite (MnO2, 3.78 %). Pyrolusite can change from manganese (IV) to manganese (II) when solubilized by bioleaching. This research analyzed the effects of bioleaching using native bacteria on the concentration of silver extraction from the removal of manganese in mining tailings. The native bacteria ITDBC2, ITDBC5, and ITDBC6 were identified as Leptospirillum ferriphilum by amplification of the 16S gene corroborated by bioinformatic analysis. The experimentation was carried out using a flooded bioleaching system (9.43 L) to resemble the industrial geometry with the following variables: concentration of ferrous ions (2, 7, and 14 g/L), pH (2, 4, and 6) and agitation time at 100 rpm (2, 4 and 6 min/day). The experimentation lasted 18 days. The removal of manganese and silver extraction was 71.84 and 55.53 %, respectively. The scaled-up of the evaluated bioprocess could reduce energy consumption and process larger amounts of pulp than the reported at the laboratory scale.

RESUMEN Durante el proceso minero de extracción de plata, los residuos generados, llamados jales, aún contienen aproximadamente 100-140 g/ton de plata debido a la presencia de materiales refractarios que la atrapan e impiden su solubilización por métodos convencionales. Estos residuos pueden tratarse mediante procesos biohidrometalúrgicos que, en conjunto con el proceso de cianuración, permiten incrementar la eficiencia de extracción de plata mediante la eliminación de materiales refractarios como el manganeso, el cual se encuentra en forma de pirolusita (MnO2, 3.78 %). La pirolusita puede pasar de manganeso (IV) a manganeso (II) al solubilizarse mediante biolixiviación. Esta investigación analizó los efectos de la biolixiviación con bacterias nativas sobre la concentración de extracción de plata a partir de la remoción de manganeso en jales mineros. Las bacterias nativas (ITDBC2, ITDBC5 e ITDBC6) fueron identificadas como Leptospirillum ferriphilum por amplificación del gen 16S y corroboradas por análisis bioinformático. La experimentación se realizó mediante un sistema de biolixiviación inundado (9.43 L) para simular la geometría industrial con las siguientes variables: concentración de iones ferrosos: 2, 7 y 14 g/L; pH: 2, 4 y 6, y tiempo de agitación a 100 rpm: 2, 4 y 6 min/día. La experimentación duró 18 días. Las respuestas para la remoción de manganeso y extracción de plata fueron 71.84 y 55.53 %, respectivamente. Implementado a escala, el bioproceso evaluado podría disminuir el consumo energético y procesar mayores cantidades de pulpa respecto de los resultados obtenidos en laboratorio.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to assess how ‘IAC 572’, ‘IAC 766’, and ‘Paulsen 1103’ rootstocks affected the duration of phenological phases, thermal demand, and chemical evolution throughout production cycle of the ‘BRS Vitória’ table grape cultivated in subtropical conditions. The duration of the following phenological stages was measured in days after pruning throughout two production seasons: budburst, flowering, setting, veraison, and harvest date. The thermal demand was determined using the degree-day concept. Titratable acidity, pH, soluble solids, and the maturation index were all measured throughout berry maturation. In general, the rootstocks ‘IAC 572’ and ‘IAC 766’ increased vine precocity in comparison to ‘Paulsen 1103’ during the early phenological phases. However, the vines grafted on ‘Paulsen 1103’ were earlier in the later phases, that is, at the veraison and at the harvest date, when compared to those grafted on the rootstocks ‘IAC 572’ and ‘IAC 766’. Under subtropical conditions, the total cycle period of the ‘BRS Vitória’ vine varied from 131 to 143 days, with thermal demands ranging from 1,545 to 1,725 DD. In comparison to the ‘IAC 572’ and the ‘IAC 766’, the ‘Paulsen 1103’ supplied the berries with a higher accumulation of soluble solids and a higher maturation index.

Resumo Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito dos porta-enxertos ‘IAC 572’, ‘IAC 766’ e ‘Paulsen 1103’ quanto à duração dos estádios fenológicos, à demanda térmica e à evolução química ao longo do ciclo de produção da uva ‘BRS Vitória’, cultivada em condições subtropicais. Durante dois ciclos de produção, foi quantificado, em dias após a poda, a duração das fases fenológicas: brotação, pleno florescimento, frutificação, início da maturação e data de colheita. A demanda térmica total foi calculdada utilizando-se do conceito de graus-dias. Durante a maturação das bagas, foram avaliados o pH, a acidez titulável, os teores de sólidos solúveis e o índice de maturação. De maneira geral, nos estádios fenológicos iniciais, os porta-enxertos ‘IAC 572’ e ‘IAC 766’ promoveram precocidade às videiras em relação ao ‘Paulsen 1103’. Contudo, nas fases finais, ou seja, no ínicio da maturação e na colheita, as videiras enxertadas sobre o ‘Paulsen 1103’ foram mais precoces quando comparadas às cultivadas sobre os porta-enxertos ‘IAC 572’ e ‘IAC 766’. A duração completa do ciclo da videira ‘BRS Vitória’, em condições subtropicais, variou de 131 a 143 dias, com demandas térmicas variando de 1.545 a 1.725 GD. O ‘Paulsen 1103’ propiciou às bagas maior acúmulo de sólidos solúveis e maior índice de maturação em relação ao ‘IAC 572’ e ao ‘IAC 766’.

Abstract Anastrepha fraterculus (Wiedemann, 1830) and Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann, 1824) are considered the main pests of Brazilian fruit production. Understanding the behavior of species is of great importance for the success of management strategies. This study was to determine the period and search time by attractive food for A. fraterculus and C. capitata adults by using three commercial food attractants: BioAnastrepha™ 5%; Isca Samaritá Tradicional™ 5% and Ceratrap™ 1.5%. The largest catches of A. fraterculus and C. capitata adults in McPhail traps occurred during the day between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm for both species. The BioAnastrepha™ food attractant provided the largest catches compared to Isca Samaritá Tradicional™ and Ceratrap™. In addition, there was a higher prevalence of capturing females than males, for both flies’ species. The period of largest search activity for food attractant was observed from 12h:31 pm to 04:30 pm for A. fraterculus and C. capitata, time of greatest temperature on the day. The definition of the period of largest activity of A. fraterculus and C. capitata adults in the field helps in the elaboration of management strategies to be adopted.

Resumen: Los hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) son simbiontes obligados que requieren una planta huésped (trampa) y un soporte (sustratos) para ser aplicados como biofertilizantes en la agricultura. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar ocho consorcios nativos de HMA de zonas semiáridas (C1-ART, C2-GEC, C3-PAR, C4-VIE, C5-CUC, C6-SAC, C7-SAB and C8-MUZ) y su multiplicación en tres sustratos orgánicos: pulpa de café (PC), estiércol bovino (EB) y bagazo de caña de azúcar (BC) en planta de frijol Phaseolus vulgaris. Se midió la altura, el diámetro de tallo, el número de hojas, la longitud de raíz, la biomasa fresca y seca y contenido mineral en raíz. Los sustratos orgánicos (CP y BM) y los consorcios C5-CUC y C8‑MUZ aumentaron considerablemente la altura de la planta, longitud de las raíces y biomasa total fresca y seca. Luego de 75 días de inoculación, la colonización radicular osciló entre 5.7% en C8-MUZ y 46.1% en C2-GEC y C4-VIE; el mayor número de esporas (201) se obtuvo en el sustrato PC en una muestra seca de 100 g. Los contenidos de N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu y Mn en raíces y hojas fueron altamente significativos (P < 0.001). Se concluye que la inoculación de estos HMA nativos y sustratos tuvo efectos positivos sobre el contenido de biomasa y los niveles de nutrientes en hoja y raíz con los consorcios C2-GEC y C3-PAR y los sustratos PC y BM, que produjeron mejores efectos en frijol, los cuáles pueden ser utilizados como biofertilizantes en cultivos agrícolas.

Summary. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are obligate symbionts that require a host plant (tramp) and support (substrates) to be applied as bio-fertilizers in agriculture. The objective of this study is to assess eight native AMF consortia of semi-arid zones (C1-ART, C2-GEC, C3-PAR, C4-VIE, C5-CUC, C6-SAC, C7-SAB, and C8-MUZ) and their reproduction response in three organic substrates: coffee pulp (CP), bovine manure (BM) and sugarcane bagasse (SB) on bean Phaseolus vulgaris. Plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root length, fresh and dry biomass, and mineral content in root were measured. The organic substrates (CP and BM) and C5-CUC and C8-MUZ consortia increased plant height, root length, and total fresh and dry biomass considerably. After day 75 of inoculation, root colonization oscillated from 5.7% in C8-MUZ to 46.1% in C2-GEC and C4-VIE; the greatest number of spores (201) was obtained in CP substrate in a 100-g sample. N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, and Mn contents in root and leaves were significantly high (P ≤ 0.001). To conclude, native AMF inoculation and substrates had positive effects on biomass content and nutrient levels in leaf and root with the C2-GEC and C3-PAR consortia and CP and BM substrates, which produced better effects in beans, making them a biofertilization alternative in agricultural crops.

Resumen Son muchos los factores que inciden en el éxito de las organizaciones; en el caso de las universidades se habla por ejemplo de los recursos, talentos, redes de colaboración, meritocracia en todos los niveles y por supuesto un adecuado gobierno universitario. En esta perspectiva, este artículo de investigación tiene como objetivo central analizar, desde la mirada de expertos, las peculiaridades que tienen los máximos cuerpos colegiados (MCC) de las universidades argentinas, con la finalidad de reflexionar en torno a la influencia que estas características ejercen en la respectiva gestión. Para ello se realiza una investigación de tipo exploratoria y cuantitativa, que cimienta su análisis en la opinión de expertos académicos integrantes de los diferentes claustros que componen el gobierno universitario, con especial consideración en la importancia brindada al cogobierno en Argentina. Para el análisis de los datos se utilizaron múltiples técnicas que incluyen estadísticas descriptivas e inferenciales. Los resultados permiten identificar la potencial eficacia de las variables estudiadas como mecanismos alineadores y su coincidencia con lo prescripto por la Ley de Educación Superior. A su vez, se identifican diferencias significativas en la valoración del doble rol del rector como máximo ejecutivo y presidente del mcc y su impacto en la gestión universitaria.

Resumo Muitos fatores afetam o sucesso das organizações; no caso das universidades, por exemplo, são discutidos recursos, talentos, redes de colaboração, meritocracia em todos os níveis e, claro, um governo universitário adequado. Nesta perspectiva, o objetivo principal desta pesquisa é analisar as percepções dos especialistas sobre as peculiaridades que os órgãos colegiados superiores (MCC) das universidades argentinas, a fim de refletir sobre a influência que essas características exercem na respectiva gestão. Para isso, realiza-se uma pesquisa exploratória e quantitativa, que se baseia na opinião de académicos membros dos diversos claustros que constituem o governo universitário, com especial atenção à importância atribuída ao co-governo na Argentina. Para a análise dos dados, foram utilizadas várias técnicas que incluem estatísticas descritivas e inferenciais. Os resultados permitem identificar a eficácia potencial das variáveis estudadas como mecanismos de alinhamento e sua coincidência com o que é prescrito pela Lei do Ensino Superior. Por sua vez, são identificadas diferenças significativas na avaliação da dupla função do reitor como mais alto executivo e presidente do mcc e seu impacto na gestão universitária.

Abstract This study focuses on the government of Argentine national universities, especially the Highest Collegiate Bodies (HCB). The theoretical perspective adopted, the Agency Approach, allows us to address different characteristics and their possible impact on management efficiency. The regulatory context provided by the Higher Education Law (1995) provides the framework for analysis. The main objective is to analyze the perspective of experts on the extent to which the variables size, composition, and performance impact on management. The exploratory and quantitative research is grounded on the analysis of the opinion of academic experts who are members of the different sectors that make up the university government, with special consideration on the importance given to co-government in Argentina. The data o was analyzed using multiple techniques which include descriptive and inferential statistics. The results allow us to identify the potential efficacy of the variables under study, such as alignment mechanisms and their coincidence with what is prescribed by the Higher Education Law. In turn, significant differences are identified in the assessment of the double role of the rector as top executive and president of the mcc and its impact on university management.
