Abstract: We present the findings referred to the lexical availability of students in contexts of high social vulnerability (N=635), in centers of interest related to the four curricular axes of mathematics: Geometry, Algebra and functions, Numbers and Statistics and probability. The largest number of words is associated with the center of interest Geometry, and the smallest with Data and Probability, which is consistent with other related studies. Regarding the center of interest, related to the Numbers axis, the first four words are directly related to the four basic arithmetic operations, excluding other concepts that are equally relevant in this domain. In Geometry, reference to geometric figures predominates, while in the Data and Chance center of interest, descriptive statistics concepts predominate. The deficient lexicon in the Data and Chance center of interest, and in addition to the Statistics and Probability curricular axis, is an element that invites reflection, especially with respect to the challenges of the current environment, which requires training people with the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, represent and analyze data. Summary and comparative tables are presented, and a semantic network is described as an invitation to discuss alternatives to enhance the achievement of significant learning in students based on their previous ideas.
