Abstract During studies on fish parasites, two new species of Anacanthorus were found parasitizing serrasalmid fishes, Anacanthorus simpliciphallus sp. n. from the hybrid Piaractus mesopotamicus x Piaractus brachypomus and Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. from Serrasalmus brandtii. Anacanthorus simpliciphallus sp. n. resembles Anacanthorus reginae in the morphology of the male copulatory organ (MCO) and accessory piece but differs from A. reginae in terms of the smaller size of the accessory piece, which corresponds approximately half the size of the MCO and by the presence of a conspicuous metraterm, with a membranous terminal region. Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. differs from Anacanthorus scapanus by the expansion of the accessory piece, from Anacanthorus jegui by the ratio MCO (male copulatory organ) /AP (accessory piece) and by the expansion of hook shank, from Anacanthorus sciponophallus and A. reginae by the ratio MCO/AP. Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. can be distinguished from A. reginae and A. simpliciphallus sp.n. by the size of hooks which is similar in A. reginae and A. simpliciphallus sp. n. and dissimilar in A. brandtii sp. n. The two new species also differ from each other by the expansion of shank.

Resumo Durante estudos em parasitos de peixes, duas novas espécies de Anacanthorus foram encontradas parasitando peixes serrasalmideos, Anacanthorus simpliciphallus sp. n. do híbrido Piaractus mesopotamicus x Piaractus brachypomus e Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. de Serrasalmus brandtii. Anacanthorus simpliciphallus sp. n. assemelha-se a Anacanthorus reginae na morfologia do órgão copulatório masculino (OCM) e peça acessória (PA), mas difere de A. reginae pelo tamanho menor da peça acessória, que corresponde a aproximadamente metade do tamanho do OCM e pela presença de um metraterma conspícuo, com uma região terminal membranosa. Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. difere de Anacanthorus scapanus pela expansão da peça acessória, de Anacanthorus jegui pela proporção OCM / PA e pela expansão da haste do gancho, e de Anacanthorus sciponophallus e A. reginae pela proporção OCM / PA. Anacanthorus brandtii sp. n. pode ser distinguido de A. reginae e A. simpliciphallus sp. n. pelo tamanho dos ganchos que é similar em A. reginae e A. simpliciphallus sp. n. e dissimilar em A. brandtii sp. n. As duas espécies novas também diferem entre si pela expansão da haste do gancho.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to describe the occurrence of self-reported olfactory and taste disorders in non-hospitalized Brazilian adults who presented severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2 infection symptoms and attended primary health care. METHODS: This cross-sectional study was based on a routine standardized diagnostic screening questionnaire applied in a Brazilian primary care facility. The olfactory and taste disorder occurrence was compared between severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-positive and severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-negative cases and described by age and sex. RESULTS: Severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-positive patients had a higher proportion of self-reported olfactory and taste disorders, as compared with severe acute respiratory syndrome-negative (50.7%, vs. 20.6%, p<0.0001). Of all individuals with self-reported olfactory and taste disorder cases, 69% presented both olfactory and taste impairments, 13% olfactory only, and 17% taste only. In severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-positive cases, the frequency of olfactory and taste disorders was significantly higher among females as compared with males (71% vs. 34%). Additionally, people with olfactory and taste disorders were significantly younger in the severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-positive group. CONCLUSION: Self-reported olfactory and taste disorders are highly common among non-hospitalized severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2-positive Brazilian people who attended the Family Health Care Unit. The co-occurrence of both self-reported olfactory and taste disorders was more frequent than self-reported olfactory or taste disorders alone.

Abstract: Family dairy farming is relevant for national agriculture which, although it contributes to the generation of wealth and income, faces low efficiency, productivity and high production costs. The objective was to analyze the technical efficiency of family dairy farms in the State of Minas Gerais. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with input-oriented BCC model was used. The higher the efficiency level of the DMUs, the fewer resources were used in excess. It was also identified the lack of DMUs that performed preventive maintenance of machines, implements and improvements, justifying the increase in the use, mainly, of the MIB input (maintenance of machines, implements and improvements). With this research, the Milk Input Commitment Index (ICIL) was suggested, which shows the percentage of production that is committed to purchase a given input. The higher the efficiency level of the DMUs, the lower the ICIL, which went from 49.36% (efficient) to 67.47% (low efficiency). This proved to be an important indicator of efficiency of dairy properties, responsible for showing the amount of milk produced that is committed to the payment of inputs used in the dairy activity. It also proved to be a valuable instrument to be used as a benchmark in dairy farms.

Resumo: A pecuária leiteira familiar é relevante para a agropecuária nacional que, embora contribua com a geração de riqueza e renda, enfrenta baixas eficiência, produtividade e custos de produção elevados. Objetivou-se analisar a eficiência técnica de propriedades leiteiras familiares no Estado de Minas Gerais. Utilizou-se a Análise por Envoltória de Dados (DEA) com modelo BCC orientado a inputs. Quanto maior foi o nível de eficiência das DMU’s, menos recursos foram utilizados em excesso. Foi identificada, ainda, a inexistência de DMU’s que realizaram manutenção preventiva de máquinas, implementos e benfeitorias, justificando o aumento da utilização, principalmente, do insumo MIB (manutenção de máquinas, implementos e benfeitorias). Com esta pesquisa, sugeriu-se o Índice de Comprometimento de Insumos em Leite (ICIL), que evidencia o percentual da produção que está comprometida para comprar um determinado insumo. Quanto maior foi o nível de eficiência das DMU’s, menor foi o ICIL, que passou de 49,36% (eficientes) para 67,47% (com eficiência baixa). Este se mostrou um importante indicador de eficiência de propriedades leiteiras, responsável por evidenciar a quantidade de leite produzido que está comprometida com o pagamento dos insumos utilizados na atividade leiteira. Também se mostrou valioso instrumento a ser utilizado como benchmark em propriedades leiteiras.

Abstract The evaluation of service conditions of concrete structures has still been carried out through implicit knowledge based on the expertise and knowledge of inspectors, who classify structures based on subjective criteria. The main degradation mechanism of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures is the corrosion of steel reinforcements, with expressive maintenance and repair costs. The phenomenon of corrosion in concrete structures has a complex behavior and presents several uncertainties, and deterministic analyzes can produce very conservative responses, which can unnecessarily increase maintenance costs, thus justifying probabilistic approaches. This article then presents a systematic literature review of articles that address the evaluation of concrete structures under reinforcement corrosion using a probabilistic approach. In this regard, 94 journal articles obtained through an appropriate review protocol were reviewed. Thus, the summary of the main proposed methodologies was carried out, as well as the identification of research gaps on the subject.

Resumo A avaliação das condições de serviço de estruturas de concreto ainda tem sido realizada através de conhecimentos implícitos, baseados na experiência e no conhecimento de inspetores, que classificam as estruturas a partir de critérios subjetivos. O principal mecanismo de degradação das estruturas de concreto armado e protendido é a corrosão das armaduras de aço, com custos diretos de manutenção e reparo bastante expressivos. O fenômeno da corrosão em estruturas de concreto possui comportamento complexo e apresenta diversas incertezas, e análises determinísticas podem produzir respostas muito conservadoras, que podem, desnecessariamente, aumentar os custos de manutenção, justificando assim abordagens probabilísticas. Esse artigo apresenta então uma revisão sistemática da literatura dos artigos que abordam a avaliação de estruturas de concreto sob corrosão das armaduras através de abordagem probabilística. Para isso, 94 artigos, obtidos através de um protocolo de revisão adequado, foram revisados. Desse modo, a sumarização das principais metodologias propostas foi realizada, bem como a identificação de lacunas de pesquisa sobre o tema.

This work presents a qualitative study of the approach to common mental suffering (CMS) in family and community medicine residency programs in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 participants from three residency programs between March and May 2022. The data were interpreted drawing on the principles of Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis method. According to the participants, CMS is a frequent demand in primary care and should be approached using mainly psychosocial interventions. However, the participants recognize that they have not applied these interventions in the manner recommended by the literature. The interviewees reported that despite being aware of a diverse range of intervention techniques, they only know how to apply some, with emphasis on the components of the “patient-centered clinical method”. This fact has contributed to the awakening of negative emotions, such as anguish and frustration, and increased the number of unnecessary referrals to other professionals.

Este trabajo presenta un estudio cualitativo sobre el abordaje del sufrimiento mental común (SMC) en programas de residencia de Medicina de Familia y Comunidad del estado de Minas Gerais. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas con 16 participantes de tres programas de residencia, entre marzo y mayo de 2022. La interpretación de los datos siguió los principios del Análisis Temático de Braun y Clarke. Para los participantes, el SMC es una demanda frecuente en la atención primaria que hay que abordar, principalmente, con intervenciones psicosociales. No obstante, los participantes reconocen que no han aplicado esas intervenciones en los estándares recomendados por la literatura. Los entrevistados relatan que conocen diversas técnicas de intervención, pero que solo saben aplicar algunas, con destaque para los componentes del método clínico centrado en la persona?. Este hecho contribuye para despertar emociones negativas, tales como angustia y frustración, y para aumentar el número de derivaciones innecesarias para otros profesionales.

Os entrevistados relatam conhecer diversas técnicas de intervenção, mas só sabem aplicar algumas, com destaque para os componentes do "método clínico centrado na pessoa". Esse fato contribui para despertar emoções negativas, como angústia e frustração, e aumentar o número de referenciamentos desnecessários para outros profissionais.

Abstract In recent decades, there have been significant advances in the diagnosis of diffuse gliomas, driven by the integration of novel technologies. These advancements have deepened our understanding of tumor oncogenesis, enabling a more refined stratification of the biological behavior of these neoplasms. This progress culminated in the fifth edition of the WHO classification of central nervous system (CNS) tumors in 2021. This comprehensive review article aims to elucidate these advances within a multidisciplinary framework, contextualized within the backdrop of the new classification. This article will explore morphologic pathology and molecular/genetics techniques (immunohistochemistry, genetic sequencing, and methylation profiling), which are pivotal in diagnosis, besides the correlation of structural neuroimaging radiophenotypes to pathology and genetics. It briefly reviews the usefulness of tractography and functional neuroimaging in surgical planning. Additionally, the article addresses the value of other functional imaging techniques such as perfusion MRI, spectroscopy, and nuclear medicine in distinguishing tumor progression from treatment-related changes. Furthermore, it discusses the advantages of evolving diagnostic techniques in classifying these tumors, as well as their limitations in terms of availability and utilization. Moreover, the expanding domains of data processing, artificial intelligence, radiomics, and radiogenomics hold great promise and may soon exert a substantial influence on glioma diagnosis. These innovative technologies have the potential to revolutionize our approach to these tumors. Ultimately, this review underscores the fundamental importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in employing recent diagnostic advancements, thereby hoping to translate them into improved quality of life and extended survival for glioma patients.

Resumo Nas últimas décadas, houve avanços significativos no diagnóstico de gliomas difusos, impulsionados pela integração de novas tecnologias. Esses avanços aprofundaram nossa compreensão da oncogênese tumoral, permitindo uma estratificação mais refinada do comportamento biológico dessas neoplasias. Esse progresso culminou na quinta edição da classificação da OMS de tumores do sistema nervoso central (SNC) em 2021. Esta revisão abrangente tem como objetivo elucidar esses avanços de forma multidisciplinar, no contexto da nova classificação. Este artigo irá explorar a patologia morfológica e as técnicas moleculares/genéticas (imuno-histoquímica, sequenciamento genético e perfil de metilação), que são fundamentais no diagnóstico, além da correlação dos radiofenótipos da neuroimagem estrutural com a patologia e a genética. Aborda sucintamente a utilidade da tractografia e da neuroimagem funcional no planejamento cirúrgico. Destacaremos o valor de outras técnicas de imagem funcional, como ressonância magnética de perfusão, espectroscopia e medicina nuclear, na distinção entre a progressão do tumor e as alterações relacionadas ao tratamento. Discutiremos as vantagens das diferentes técnicas de diagnóstico na classificação desses tumores, bem como suas limitações em termos de disponibilidade e utilização. Além disso, os crescentes avanços no processamento de dados, inteligência artificial, radiômica e radiogenômica têm grande potencial e podem em breve exercer uma influência substancial no diagnóstico de gliomas. Essas tecnologias inovadoras têm o potencial de revolucionar nossa abordagem a esses tumores. Em última análise, esta revisão destaca a importância fundamental da colaboração multidisciplinar na utilização dos recentes avanços diagnósticos, com a esperança de traduzi-los em uma melhor qualidade de vida e uma maior sobrevida.

Resumen La suplementación surge como una estrategia simple para mejorar la productividad animal en sistemas que adoptan praderas diferidas de pasto como dieta básica. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto de los niveles de suplementación de harina de vaina de mezquite sobre la ingesta, la digestibilidad de los nutrientes y la ganancia de peso corporal (PC) de caprinos en pastoreo diferido. Treinta y cinco (35) caprinos machos (24.0 ± 2.9 kg PC) se distribuyeron en un diseño completamente al azar, con cinco tratamientos y siete repeticiones. Los tratamientos consistieron en un control de suplemento (0.05 % de PC de sal proteico-mineral) y niveles crecientes a 0.5; 1.0; 1.5 y 2.0 % de PC de suplementación con harina de vaina de mezquite. La ingesta de materia seca y nutrientes del forraje y la dieta total aumentaron linealmente (P<0.0001) en función de los niveles del suplemento. Se observó un efecto cuadrático (P<0.0001) para las variables de digestibilidad, excepto para el extracto etéreo y los carbohidratos no fibrosos, que presentaron un efecto lineal creciente (P<0.0001). Los niveles de suplementación aumentaron linealmente las variables de rendimiento (P<0.05). Se recomienda la suplementación del concentrado al 2.0 % de PC con harina de vaina de mezquite al 30 % en su composición para promover la reducción del ciclo productivo de los caprinos en praderas diferidas de pasto Urochloa.

Abstract Supplementation emerges as a simple strategy to improve animal productivity in systems that adopt deferred grass pasture as the basic diet. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of levels of supplementation of mesquite pod meal on intake, digestibility of nutrients, and body weight (BW) gain of goats in grazing deferred. Thirty-five (35) goat males (24.0 ± 2.9 kg BW) were distributed in a completely randomized design, with five treatments and seven replications. Treatments constituted a supplement control (0.05% BW of protein-mineral salt) and increasing levels at 0.5; 1.0; 1.5, and 2.0% BW of supplementation with mesquite pod meal. Dry matter intake and nutrients of the forage and total diet increased linearly (P<0.0001) as a function of the levels of the supplement. A quadratic effect was observed (P<0.0001) for the digestibility variables, except for ethereal extract and non-fiber carbohydrates, which presented an increasing linear effect (P<0.0001). Supplementation levels increased linearly on the performance variables (P<0.05). It is recommended the concentrate supplementation at 2.0% BW with mesquite pod meal at 30 % in its composition for promoting the reduction of the productive cycle of goats in deferred Urochloa grass pastures.

ABSTRACT During the state of immune vulnerability in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), the patient has an increased risk of developing a vast number of complications, including severe problems in the oral cavity. These situations require professional oral care to act in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, as well as to develop prevention protocols to minimize patient's complications. Oral mucositis, opportunistic infections, bleeding, specific microbiota, taste, and salivary alterations are complications that can occur during HSCT and interfere with various aspects, such as pain control, oral intake, nutrition, bacteremia and sepsis, days of hospitalization and morbidity. Several guidelines have been published to address the role of professional oral care during the HSCT, we describe a consensus regarding these recommendations.

ABSTRACT The oral involvement in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation is well described in the literature. The goal of the dental treatment and management of the oral lesions related to the HSCT is to reduce the harm caused by preexisting oral infection or even the worsening of oral acute/chronic GVHD and late effects. The aim of this guideline was to discuss the dental management of patients subjected to HSCT, considering three phases of the HSCT: pre-HSCT, acute phase, and late phase. The literature published from 2010 to 2020 was reviewed in order to identify dental interventions in this patient population. The selected papers were divided into three groups: pre-HSCT, acute and late, and were reviewed by the SBTMO Dental Committee's members. When necessary, an expertise opinion was considered for better translating the guideline recommendations to our population dental characteristics. This manuscript focused on the pre-HSCT dental management. The objective of the pre-HSCT dental management is to identify possible dental situations that On behalf of the Dental Committee of the Brazilian Society of Gene Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation (SBTMO) can worsening during the acute phase after the HSCT. Each guideline recommendations were made considering the Dentistry Specialties. The clinical consensus on dental management prior to HSCT provides professional health caregivers with clinical setting-specific information to help with the management of dental problems in patients to be subjected to HSCT.

ABSTRACT Fresh corn is a highly appreciated vegetable in Brazil; this crop has high added value and profitability when compared to dry corn. Despite the consumer market demand for quality, cultivars are not launched every crop season and there is a small number of cultivars available to growers. This denotes a need for breeding programs focused on generating information and genotypes that can occupy this market niche. The objective of this work was to evaluate the progress of five cycles of intrapopulation recurrent selection in half-sib progenies of fresh corn, in the southwest region of Goiás. A randomized block experimental design was used, with evaluation of 64 progenies of corn half-sib progenies and selection intensity of 30% per cycle, with three replications, in the 2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2017-2018, and 2020-2021 summer crop seasons. The half-sib progenies of fresh corn exhibited genetic variability through intrapopulation recurrent selection in the different selection cycles, which is still promising for further selections after five cycles, with evaluation of 64 progenies per cycle. The base population from crossings between hybrids for tropical and temperate climates showed to be promising for increasing the genetic base of fresh corn populations, with satisfactory gains over the five cycles, presenting mean heritability between the cycles of approximately 78.9% for relative chlorophyll index, 62.2% for plant height, 75.1% for ear insertion height, 70% for ear diameter, 56.6% for ear length, 71.4% for unhusked ear yield, and 71% for marketable ear yield.

RESUMO O milho fresco é uma hortaliça muito apreciada pelos brasileiros e, além disso, possui alto valor agregado e maior lucratividade, quando comparado aos grãos secos. O mercado consumidor apesar de exigente na qualidade, não é abastecido com novas cultivares a cada safra e com um número ínfimo sendo disponível aos produtores. Assim, existe a necessidade da criação de programas de melhoramento, com o intuito de gerar informações e genótipos capazes de suprir esse nicho de mercado. O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar o progresso da seleção em progênies de meiosirmãos de milho fresco, em cinco ciclos de seleção recorrente intrapopulacional, na região sudoeste de Goiás. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, com a avaliação de 64 progênies de meios-irmãos e intensidade de seleção de 30% por ciclo, com três repetições, em diferentes safras de verão (2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2017-2018 e 2020-2021). As progênies de famílias de meios-irmãos de milho fresco apresentaram variabilidade genética por meio de seleção recorrente intrapopulacional nos diferentes ciclos de seleção, com avaliação de 64 progênies por ciclo. A população base de cruzamentos entre híbridos para climas tropicais e temperados mostrou-se promissora para aumentar a base genética de populações de milho fresco, com ganhos satisfatórios ao longo dos cinco ciclos, com herdabilidade média de aproximadamente 78,9% para o índice relativo de clorofila, 62,2% para altura de planta, 75% para inserção da espiga, 70% para diâmetro da espiga, 56,6% para comprimento da espiga, 71,4% para espigas empalhadas e 71% para espigas comerciais entre os ciclos.

This is a multicenter, cross-sectional study carried out with students regularly enrolled in undergraduate courses at eight Brazilian IFES. Data collection was conducted between October 2021 and February 2022 using an online self-completed questionnaire, which addressed sociodemographic and academic characteristics, lifestyle habits, and health conditions. Symptoms of anxiety and depression were assessed using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). Variables were analyzed descriptively using frequency distribution and Pearson’s chi-square test. To estimate the prevalence of symptoms of anxiety and depression, the proportion and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were used. The level of adopted statistical significance was 5%.

Abstract Objective: this study aimed to evaluate if there is an association of intake of coffee and its polyphenols with mammographic findings in women treated at a breast care service unit of the Unified Health System (SUS), Brazil. Research methods and procedures: this was a cross-sectional study with 532 women treated at a health service. The participants were divided according to their mammographic reports into two groups: without and with altered findings. Two 24-h dietary recalls were applied and coffee consumption was categorized into three groups (less than 1 cup, 1 to 3 cups, and more than 3 cups). Phenolic acids were determined using the Phenol Explorer program. The intake of polyphenols was calculated by adding the values obtained from the total amount of coffee consumed during the day. The Multiple Source Method (MSM) was applied to analyze the usual intake. Results: of the 532 women, 178 (33.5 %) had altered mammographic findings. The participants' average daily coffee intake was 193.4 mL. No significant association was found between coffee consumption and mammographic findings. However, it was found that the second tertile of polyphenols was a protective factor for breast changes. Conclusion: coffee polyphenols are protective against breast changes in the group evaluated and, thus, can help prevent breast cancer.

Resumen Objetivo: este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar si existe una asociación de la ingesta de café y sus polifenoles con los hallazgos mamográficos de mujeres tratadas en una unidad de patología mamaria del Sistema Unificado de Salud (SUS), Brasil. Métodos y procedimientos de investigación: este fue un estudio transversal con 532 mujeres tratadas en un servicio de salud. Las participantes se dividieron de acuerdo con sus informes mamográficos en dos grupos: sin y con hallazgos alterados. Se aplicaron dos registros dietéticos de 24 horas y el consumo de café se clasificó en tres grupos (menos de 1 taza, 1 a 3 tazas y más de 3 tazas). Los ácidos fenólicos se determinaron utilizando el programa Phenol Explorer. La ingesta de polifenoles se calculó sumando los valores obtenidos de la cantidad total de café consumido durante el día. Se aplicó el método de fuentes múltiples (MSM) para analizar la ingesta habitual. Resultados: de las 532 mujeres, 178 (33,5 %) tenían hallazgos mamográficos alterados. La ingesta diaria promedio de café de los participantes fue de 193,4 ml. No se encontró una asociación significativa entre el consumo de café y los hallazgos mamográficos. Sin embargo, se encontró que el segundo tercil de polifenoles era un factor protector para los cambios mamarios. Conclusión: los polifenoles del café son protectores contra los cambios mamarios en el grupo evaluado y, por lo tanto, podrían ayudar a prevenir el cáncer de mama.

RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar as prevalências de acidentes de trabalho, segundo variáveis sociodemográficas e ocupacionais, em 2013 e 2019. Métodos: Estudo transversal utilizando dados da Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde (PNS) 2013 e 2019. Avaliou-se os acidentes de trabalho típico (AT), de descolamento (AD) e de trabalho totais (ATT). As prevalências e os intervalos de confiança de 95% (IC95%) de ATT em 2013 e 2019 foram estimadas segundo as variáveis explicativas, unidades da Federação e capitais. Em 2019, foram calculadas as prevalências e IC95% segundo variáveis explicativas e razões de prevalência (RP) bruta e ajustada por sexo e faixa etária. Resultados: A prevalência de ATT passou de 4,96% (IC95% 4,55–5,38) em 2013 para 4,13% (IC95% 3,80–4,46) em 2019. Em 2013, o Pará liderou em prevalência de ATT e, em 2019, a maior prevalência foi em Mato Grosso. As prevalências de AT e AD em 2019 foram, respectivamente, 2,64% (IC95% 2,37–2,91) e 1,60% (IC95% 1,40–1,80). Em 2019, as prevalências para ATT foram mais elevadas para homens (RP: 1,92; IC95% 1,62–2,27); faixa etária de 18 a 29 anos (RP: 2,71; IC95% 1,99–3,68); pessoas com ensino fundamental completo/médio incompleto (RP: 2,09; IC95% 1,57–2,78); e pessoas de cor preta (RP: 1,43; IC95% 1,12–1, 84), e menor em pessoas sem carteira de trabalho (RP: 0,77; IC95% 0,66–0,90). AT foi maior na zona rural (RP: 1,32; IC95% 1,09–1,60). Conclusão: Houve redução dos ATT entre 2013 e 2019. Homens, jovens, pretos e indivíduos com menor escolaridade, trabalhadores da zona rural, apresentaram maiores prevalências de AT em 2019, demonstrando uma relação dos processos saúde-doença-acidente.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the prevalence of work-related accidents, according to sociodemographic and occupational variables, in 2013 and 2019. Methods: Cross-sectional study using data from the National Survey of Health (PNS) 2013 and 2019. Typical work accidents (WA), commuting accidents (CA), and Total Work Accidents (TWA) were evaluated. Prevalence values and 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) of TWA in 2013 and 2019 were estimated according to the explanatory variables and for Federative Units and capitals. In 2019, the prevalence and 95%CI according to explanatory variables were estimated using prevalence ratios (PR), both crude and adjusted for sex and age group. Results: TWA prevalence decreased from 4.96% (95%CI 4.55–5.38) in 2013 to 4.13% (95%CI 3.80–4.46) in 2019. In 2013, the state of Pará prevailed in TWA, and the state of Mato Grosso in 2019. The prevalence of WA and CA in 2019 were: 2.64% (95%CI 2.37–2.91) and 1.60% (95%CI 1.40–1.80). In 2019, the prevalence for TWA were higher for men (PR: 1.92; 95%CI 1.62–2.27); in the 18-29 age group (PR: 2.71; 95%CI 1.99–3.68); people with elementary school and some high school (PR: 2.09; 95%CI 1.57–2.78); and Black individuals (PR: 1.43; 95%CI 1.12–1.84). People without formal employment contract had a lower prevalence of TWA (PR: 0.77; 95%CI 0.66–0.90). WA was higher in rural areas (PR: 1.32; 95%CI 1.09–1.60). Conclusion: There was a reduction in TWA between 2013 and 2019. Men, young people, Black people, and individuals with lower level of education, residents in rural areas had higher prevalence of WA in 2019, demonstrating a relationship between health-disease-accident processes.

Resumo A pandemia de covid-19 acelerou a chamada transformação digital da saúde. Uma de suas faces pode ser vista no uso progressivo de aplicativos móveis dedicados à prevenção de doenças e à promoção à saúde (mSaúde). Todavia, ainda há muitas lacunas de conhecimento e problematizações sobre saúde digital para subsidiar seu uso e implementação no âmbito da saúde coletiva. Este ensaio pretende se somar às caracterizações e análises das consequências assistenciais, sociais, políticas, legais e éticas da saúde digital. A hipótese a ser defendida é que a transformação digital da saúde acarreta a automação algorítmica do saber-poder da medicina. Para desenvolver este ensaio, foram realizadas extensa revisão bibliográfica, investigação e descrição de aplicativos de mSaúde, a partir de estudos críticos sobre saúde digital propostos por Deborah Lupton.

Abstract The current pandemic has accelerated digital health transformation. One of its faces refers to the progressive use of mobile applications dedicated to care, disease prevention, and health promotion - e.g., mHealth. However, many gaps in the knowledge and questions about digital health to support its use and implementation persist in the scope of Public Health. With that in mind, this study aims to contribute to their assistance, social, political, legal, and ethical characterizations and analyses. The hypothesis we intend to test is that the digital transformation of health care leads, for better or for worse, to the algorithmic automation of the knowledge-power of medicine. To conduct this study, we carried out an extensive literature review and investigated and described mHealth apps based on the critical studies of digital health proposed by Deborah Lupton.

Abstract Dengue is a viral disease whose number of cases has increased in Brazil. This study aimed to characterize the spatio-temporal distribution patterns of the reported dengue infection cases in the state of Alagoas (AL), Northeastern Brazil (NEB). The data of the officially reported dengue cases from 2000 to 2015 was retrieved from the State Health Secretariat of Alagoas (SESAL), which captures national demographic and health data from the System for the Reporting of Notifiable Conditions (SINAN). After applying the Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) function, maps were generated based on the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) interpolation method. By using the clusters analysis (CA) technique, three homogeneous groups of dengue in AL were determined. Next, the LN (Lognormal), GUM (Gumbel) and GEV (Generalized Extreme Value) probability distributions were applied to monthly model dengue case data in AL, with the LN continuous probability distribution standing out. Maceió and Arapiraca have a higher number of dengue cases than other cities, being the main reason for their interpretation as separate groups. The coefficients of determination (R2) of dengue cases analysis as a function of month of each year for the studied years were low (between 0.03 and 0.63) and many regression slopes were not significant. Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) between dengue and the Human Development Index (HDI) of LA was considered moderate (0.53) and the correlation between dengue and demographic density was high (0.76). The importance of constant monitoring and assistance for these areas is reinforced.
