ABSTRACT: Feathers are by-products that are generated in significant quantities by the poultry industry. Microbial bioconversion has been investigated as a promising strategy for the processing of feathers, since, along with the degradation of these keratinous materials, bioprocessing can result in value-added products. Thus, from the perspective of industrial microbiology, chicken feathers can be considered a raw material for obtaining microbial proteases. Within this context, this research investigated and characterized the production of extracellular proteases by Aspergillus sp., isolated from soil of the Amazon Rainforest. The enzymatic production was evaluated using several growth substrates (whole feathers, feather meal, human hair, casein, gelatin, peptone and chicken beaks). With highest enzyme production was obtained the feather meal (FM) and peptone. After 48 h of fermentation, FM degradation was 15.82%. The crude protease showed optimal activity at pH 5.0 and 37 °C and enzymatic activity was enhanced with the addition of 1 and 5 mM of CaCl2, MnSO4, KCl, MgSO4 and CuSO4. The detergents Tween 20 and Triton x-100, at concentrations 0.5 and 1% (v/v), tended to stimulate activity. The presence of 0.5 and 1% (v/v) of organic solvents (methanol, acetone, butanol, acetonitrile, isopropanol and DMSO), maintained the enzymatic activity. β-mercaptoethanolstimulated proteolytic activity in the enzymatic assays. This study suggested new direction for waste management with industrial applications giving rise to green technology for sustainable development.

RESUMO: As penas são subprodutos que são gerados em quantidades significativas pela indústria avícola. A bioconversão microbiana tem sido investigada como uma estratégia promissora para o processamento de penas, uma vez que, juntamente com a degradação desses materiais queratinosos, o bioprocessamento pode resultar em produtos de valor agregado. Assim, do ponto de vista da microbiologia industrial, as penas de frango podem ser consideradas matéria-prima para a obtenção de proteases microbianas. Dentro deste contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar e caracterizar a produção de proteases extracelulares por Aspergillus sp., isolados de solo da floresta Amazônica. A produção enzimática foi avaliada utilizando diversos substratos de crescimento (penas inteiras, farinha de penas, cabelo humano, caseína, gelatina, peptona e bicos de frango). Com maior produção de enzima foi obtida a farinha de penas (FP) e peptona. Após 48 h de fermentação, a degradação da FP foi de 15.82%. A protease bruta mostrou atividade ótima em pH 5.0 e 37 0C e a atividade enzimática foi aumentada com a adição de 1 e 5 mM de CaCl2, MnSO4, KCl, MgSO4 e CuSO4. Os detergentes Tween 20 e Triton x-100, nas concentrações 0.5 e 1% (v/v), tenderam a estimular a atividade. A presença de 0.5 e 1% (v/v) dos solventes orgânicos (metanol, acetona, butanol, acetonitrila, isopropanol e DMSO), mantiveram a atividade enzimática. O β-mercaptoetanol estimulou a atividade proteolítica nos ensaios enzimáticos. Este estudo sugere uma nova direção para a gestão de resíduos com aplicações industriais dando origem à tecnologia verde para o desenvolvimento sustentável.

ABSTRACT. Technical and secure information on the production of quality atemoya seedlings (Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimola Mill.) are of paramount importance due to the growing interest in this crop. This study aimed to assess the formation of atemoya seedlings propagated by grafting methods and cultivars using araticum (Annona sylvatica) rootstocks. The experiment was carried out in a screened environment at the Western Paraná State University (Unioeste), Campus of Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná State, Brazil. Atemoya grafts (Thompson, African Pride, and Gefner) were collected from plants from the CATI seedling nursery, located in São Bento do Sapucaí, São Paulo State, Brazil. Grafting was performed using 1-year-old araticum rootstocks with 8-10 mm in diameter at a height of 15 cm from the ground and grafts measuring, on average, 8.5 cm in length, 10 mm in diameter, and three buds. The experimental design consisted of randomized blocks in a 3 × 3 factorial arrangement (three grafting methods: cleft graft, whip and tongue graft, and chip budding × three cultivars: African Pride, Thompson, and Gefner), with four replications and 10 seedlings per replication, totaling 40 seedlings per treatment. The percentage of graft success (%), percentage of sprouting (%), number of sprouts, number of leaves, and longest sprout length (cm) were assessed at 60 days after grafting. The cleft graft method is efficient for producing atemoya seedlings. The cultivar African Pride can be grafted onto rootstocks by the cleft graft and whip and tongue graft methods, as they promote a higher percentage of graft success. The Annona sylvatica rootstock has potential for the production of atemoya seedlings, but chip budding is not viable.

ABSTRACT Purpose To characterize the profile of Brazilian speech therapists with specialized training in orofacial myology (OM). Methods Descriptive and exploratory, cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, carried out between September 2022 and February 2023, in partnership with CFFa. Eighty-seven speech therapists with specialized training in OM participated. Results showed female predominance, age between 41 and 50 years, and time of specialized training in OM between 16-20 years; most with specialist titles in the Southeast of Brazil. Most work in offices/outpatient clinics and/or clinics with interdisciplinary actions with Medicine and Dentistry; seeing adults and children, mainly in a private sector. As to OM domains there was a predominance of rehabilitation of soft structures and oral habits, and most use technologies: light - reception and assistance, light-hard - evaluation and therapy, and hard - photobiomodulation (40.2%). Conclusion The Brazilian speech therapists with specialized training in OM participating in the study are mostly women over 41 years old, who hold the title of specialists, and carry out practices in various domains and levels of technology in the area, with a predominance of diagnosis and rehabilitation of oromyofunctional disorders.

RESUMO Objetivo Caracterizar o perfil do fonoaudiólogo brasileiro com formação especializada em motricidade orofacial (MO). Métodos Estudo descritivo e exploratório, transversal, de abordagem quantitativa, realizado entre setembro 2022 e fevereiro 2023, com parceria do Conselho Federal de Fonoaudiologia. Participaram 87 fonoaudiólogos com formação em MO. Resultados Evidenciou-se predominância feminina, faixa etária entre 41 e 50 anos e tempo de formação especializada em MO entre 16 e 20 anos; maioria com título de especialista e da Região Sudeste do Brasil, atuando em consultórios/ambulatórios e/ou clínicas, com ações interdisciplinares com Medicina e Odontologia, abrangendo adultos e crianças, principalmente na rede privada. Prevaleceram os domínios da MO quanto à reabilitação de estruturas moles e hábito oral e maior uso de tecnologias: leve - acolhimento e assistência; leve-dura - avaliação e terapia e dura - fotobiomodulação. Conclusão Os fonoaudiólogos brasileiros com formação especializada em MO, participantes do estudo, são, em sua maioria, mulheres com mais de 41 anos de idade, que detêm titulação de especialista, com práticas nos vários domínios e níveis de tecnologia da área, principalmente em diagnóstico e reabilitação dos distúrbios miofuncionais orofaciais.

Abstract Introduction Clinical assessment in orofacial motricity is required for the speech therapist to diagnose and treat disorders involving the stomatognathic system. Validated tools can help establish a prognosis and outline intervention methods connected to human development. Objective The goal of the present study was to examine the domains of the oromyofunctional assessment of nursing infants and preschoolers according to sex and age group, as well as the application of the MMBGR Protocol – Nursing Infants and Preschool Children. Methods A quantitative technique was used to conduct an analytical and cross-sectional investigation. The present study included a total of 214 healthy breastfeeding infants and preschoolers of both sexes. The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the medians. The Spearman correlation of each test domain was determined. R Core Team 2021 (R Foundation, Vienna, Austria) was used, and the significance threshold was set at 5%. Results In intraoral and extraoral examinations, there was a difference between sexes for tongue scores in nursing infants(d =-0.428; p = 0.045), worse in males. When the orofacial functions were considered in nursing infants, there were differences between the sexes for the liquid/solid/semisolid deglutition scores (d = 0.479; p = 0.031), with females performing worse. There were sex differences in solid/semisolid deglutition (d = -0.335; p = 0.043), and speech in preschoolers (d = - 0.478; p = 0.034), including the production of phones/phonemes (d = - 0.599; p = 0.007), which were always worse in males. Conclusion The research revealed sex disparities and related the domains of oromyofunctional assessment, according to scores, of the domains of myofunctional assessment, as recorded in a standardized oromyofunctional assessment protocol by age group.

Resumen Introducción: La sífilis es un delito sexual causado por la bacteria Treponema pallidum, que puede causar defectos de nacimiento cuando hay transmisión vertical de la mujer embarazada infectada a su hijo. En Brasil y en el estado de Alagoas, es un problema de salud pública que debe ser controlado, especialmente en la Atención Primaria de Salud que se apoya en la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia para el diagnóstico y tratamiento de la sífilis en el embarazo, previniendo así los casos congénitos. Objetivo: Analizar las correlaciones entre la cobertura de la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia y los indicadores de Sífilis Congénita en el estado de Alagoas, Brasil, entre 2009 y 2018. Método: Se trata de un estudio transversal retrospectivo con datos secundarios del Ministerio de Salud sobre los indicadores de Sífilis Congénita y la cobertura de la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia en Alagoas. Se utilizó el software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - versión 25 y las correlaciones se consideraron significativas con un valor p < 0,05. Resultados: Entre 2009-2018 se notificaron 3.407 casos de Sífilis Congénita en Alagoas y el 73,6% de las embarazadas realizaron control prenatal. Sin embargo, se observó que el momento del diagnóstico de la sífilis materna no se produjo durante la atención prenatal; el tratamiento materno no se realizó o se realizó de forma inadecuada; y sólo el 9% de las parejas sexuales de las embarazadas recibieron tratamiento. Conclusión: En Alagoas, existen lagunas para el diagnóstico oportuno y el tratamiento eficaz de la sífilis en el embarazo, incluso con la disponibilidad de insumos y protocolos de atención.

No Brasil e no estado de Alagoas, caracteriza-se como problema de saúde pública a ser controlado, principalmente na Atenção Primária à Saúde que conta com a Estratégia Saúde da Família para o diagnóstico e o tratamento da sífilis na gestação, prevenindo os casos congênitos. Objetivo: Analisar as correlações entre a cobertura da Estratégia Saúde da Família e os indicadores da Sífilis Congênita no estado de Alagoas, Brasil, entre 2009 e 2018. Abstract Background Pancreaticoduodenectomy is associated with high morbidity. Many preoperative variables are risk factors for postoperative complications, but they are primarily non-modifiable. It is not clear whether an intraoperative goal-directed fluid regimen might be associated with fewer postoperative surgical complications compared to current conservative, non-goal-directed fluid practices. We hypothesize that the use of Systolic Volume Variation (SVV)-guided intraoperative fluid administration might be beneficial. Methods Data from 223 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy in our institution between 2015 and 2019 were reviewed. Patients were classified into two groups based on the use of intraoperative use of SVV to guide the administration of fluids. The decision to use SVV or not was made by the attending anesthesiologist. Subjects were classified into SVV-guided intraoperative fluid therapy (SVV group) and non-SVV-guided intraoperative fluid therapy (non-SVV group). Uni and multivariate regression analyses were conducted to determine if SVV-guided fluid therapy was significantly associated with a lower incidence of postoperative surgical complications, such as Postoperative Pancreatic Fistula (POPF), Delayed Gastric Emptying (DGE), among others, after adjusting for confounders. Results Baseline, demographic, and intraoperative characteristics were similar between SVV and non-SVV groups. In the multivariate analysis, the use of SVV guidance was significantly associated with fewer postoperative surgical complications (OR = 0.48; 95% CI 0.25-0.91; p= 0.025), even after adjusting for significant covariates, such as perioperative use of epidural, pancreatic gland parenchyma texture, and diameter of the pancreatic duct. Conclusions VV-guided intraoperative fluid administration might be associated with fewer postoperative surgical complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy.

RESUMO O joelho é uma das principais articulações do corpo humano e, em função de sua conformação e funcionalidade, é facilmente suscetível a lesões. A reconstrução cirúrgica de lesões ao redor do joelho e região proximal da perna representa um grande desafio devido à exposição de estruturas osteoarticulares, tendinomusculares e neurovasculares e tem sido realizada com uso de diversos retalhos musculares e musculocutâneos. Outros retalhos também são descritos para tratamento dessas lesões, embora em menor frequência na literatura, como o retalho cutâneo baseado no pedículo da artéria genicular lateral superior. A seguir, é apresentado o relato de cinco casos de pacientes vítimas de acidentes motociclísticos nos quais realizou-se a cobertura da lesão ao redor do joelho e região proximal da perna com o uso do retalho cutâneo baseado no pedículo da artéria genicular lateral superior, nos quais foram obtidos uma boa cobertura das lesões, alta taxa de sobrevida do retalho, bons resultados clínicos e estéticos. ABSTRACT The knee is one of the main joints in the human body, and due to its conformation and functionality, it is easily susceptible to injuries. Surgical reconstruction of injuries around the knee and proximal region of the leg represents a major challenge due to the exposure of osteoarticular, tendinomuscular and neurovascular structures and has been performed using various muscle and musculocutaneous flaps. Other flaps are also described for treating these lesions, although less frequently in the literature, such as the cutaneous flap based on the pedicle of the superior lateral genicular artery. Next, It presents a report of five cases of patients who were victims of motorcycle accidents in which the lesion was covered around the knee and proximal region of the leg using a skin flap based on the pedicle of the superior lateral genicular artery, in which good coverage of lesions, high flap survival rate, good clinical and aesthetic results. The cariogenic processes are mainly caused by the bacterium Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) and consist of the demineralization of the tooth that occurs when the acid production overcomes the natural repair or if a problem occurs in the last one. In this work, we performed the synthesis of twenty-one 1,4-naphthoquinones tethered to 1,2,3-1H-triazoles (8a-8k and 9a-9j), antibacterial evaluation against the S. mutans in vitro and the acute toxicity of the better ones in vivo. We observed strong inhibition results in the disc diffusion test ranging, the halos of inhibitions, from 18.66 (± 0.57) to 29 (± 2.64) mm, and good values in the minimum inhibitory concentration (5 to 50 μg), for the compounds 9e, 9h, 9i and 9j: Furthermore, they do not have a cytotoxic effect at the concentrations tested. Besides that, in the in vivo test, they show some slight alteration in the histopathological analyses and the biochemistry. Thus, we found four potential candidates to become instruments for the treatment of cavities.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar, na literatura, o conhecimento, as atitudes e as práticas de enfermeiros sobre hepatite B. Método: revisão integrativa, com busca e seleção realizadas por pares e de forma independente, após consulta eletrônica às bases de dados CINAHL, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, Web of Science, LILACS, BDENF e IBECS em janeiro de 2021. A amostra foi constituída por 15 estudos primários publicados sem restrição temporal ou de idioma. A análise e a síntese dos resultados ocorreram de forma descritiva. Resultados: foram identificadas limitações no conhecimento, atitudes inconsistentes e práticas assistenciais comumente negligenciadas, relacionadas às medidas de prevenção, imunização e biossegurança, ao gerenciamento de risco e monitoramento de sintomas e complicações, que contribuíram para uma maior exposição ocupacional. Dentre os fatores associados, destacaram-se a baixa participação em atividades de educação permanente, o nível de formação, as condições laborais, as limitações na disponibilização de testes de imunização (anti-HBs) e a subnotificação de agravos. Conclusão: o conhecimento, as atitudes e as práticas desenvolvidos por enfermeiros, relacionados à hepatite B, mostraram-se limitados e inconsistentes, podendo resultar na maior exposição ocupacional, assim como impactar diretamente a cobertura vacinal e a ocorrência de incidentes.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze, in the literature, the nurses' knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding Hepatitis B. Method: an integrative review, with search and selection conducted independently by peers, after electronic queries in the CINAHL, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, Web of Science, LILACS, BDENF and IBECS databases in January 2021. The sample consisted in 15 primary studies published with no time or language restrictions. Analysis and synthesis of the results were carried out in a descriptive manner. Results: limitations in knowledge, inconsistent attitudes and commonly neglected assistance-related practices were identified, related to prevention, immunization and biosafety measures, to risk management and to monitoring of symptoms and complications, which contributed to greater occupational exposure. Among the associated factors, low participation in permanent education activities, training level, working conditions, limitations in the availability of immunization tests (anti-HBs) and underreporting of health problems stood out. Conclusion: the knowledge, attitudes and practices developed by nurses in relation to Hepatitis B proved to be limited and inconsistent, which may result in greater occupational exposure, as well as exert a direct impact on vaccination coverage and occurrence of incidents.

RESUMEN Objetivo: analizar, en la literatura, los conocimientos, las actitudes y las prácticas de los enfermeros en relación a la Hepatitis B. Método: revisión integradora, en la cual la búsqueda y la selección fueron realizadas por pares y de manera independiente, luego de consultas electrónicas en las siguientes bases de datos: CINAHL, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, Web of Science, LILACS, BDENF e IBECS en enero de 2021. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 15 estudios primarios publicados sin restricciones de tiempo o de idioma. El análisis y la síntesis de los resultados se realizaron en forma descriptiva. Resultados: se identificaron limitaciones en el conocimiento, actitudes inconsistentes y prácticas asistenciales comúnmente desatendidas, relacionadas con las medidas de prevención, inmunización y bioseguridad, y con la administración del riesgo y el monitoreo de síntomas y complicaciones, que contribuyeron a una mayor exposición ocupacional. Entre los factores asociados, se destacaron los siguientes: escasa participación en actividades de educación permanente, el nivel de formación, las condiciones laborales, las limitaciones en la disponibilidad de pruebas de inmunización (anti-HBs) y la subnotificación de problemas de salud. Conclusión: los conocimientos, las actitudes y las prácticas desarrolladas por los enfermeros, en relación con la Hepatitis B, demostraron ser limitados e inconsistentes, con la posibilidad de derivar en una mayor exposición ocupacional, al igual que de afectar directamente la cobertura de las vacunas y la frecuencia de incidentes.

RESUMO Objetivo Apresentar Exame Clínico Miofuncional Orofacial pertencente ao Protocolo MMBGR - Lactentes e Pré-escolares, incluindo sua validação. Método Inicialmente foi realizada a validade do conteúdo do teste adaptado do Protocolo MBGR, para faixa etária entre 6 e 71 meses, fundamentada na bibliografia e experiência entre autores (originais e atuais). Para análise de conteúdo e aparência participaram 10 fonoaudiólogos especialistas em Motricidade Orofacial, que preencheram formulário eletrônico com questões dicóticas e escala de Likert, em dois momentos. Foi calculado Índice de Validade de Conteúdo e Teste Binomial Exato. Na sequência houve análise da validade baseada nos processos de resposta, seguida da análise da confiabilidade do Exame Clínico, com 155 participantes, por 7 fonoaudiólogos experientes e calibrados, sendo verificada a concordância entre e intra examinadores pelo Coeficiente de Correlação Intraclasse. Resultados Houve acréscimos, modificações e exclusão de itens conforme faixa etária, concluindo-se o Protocolo Exame Clínico Miofuncional Orofacial para lactentes e pré-escolares, que obteve 90,5% com concordância; e 100% dos escores adequados por pelo menos 90% dos especialistas. Quanto à confiabilidade, a maioria dos itens dos Exames Extraoral e Intraoral e Mastigação obtiveram concordância razoável a boa, ou, até mesmo, excelente. Conclusão O “Exame Clínico Miofuncional Orofacial” teve validação baseada no conteúdo do teste, nos processos de resposta e confiabilidade concluída, e junto ao “Instrutivo” e à “História Clínica” integra o “Protocolo MMBGR - Lactentes e Pré-escolares”, para atuação fonoaudiológica na faixa etária entre 6 e 71 meses de idade.

ABSTRACT Purpose To present the Myofunctional Orofacial Clinical Examination Protocol belonging to the MMBGR Protocol - Infants and Preschoolers, including its validation. Methods Initially, test content-based validity was evaluated from the MBGR Protocol to be used with the age group between 6 and 71 months based on the bibliography and experience between the authors (original and current). For the content and appearance analysis, 10 speech therapists specialized in Orofacial Motricity attended and filled out an electronic form with dichotic and Likert scale questions in two moments. We used the Content Validity Index and the Exact Binomial Test. Then there was a validity based on the response processes analysis followed by a reliability of the Clinical Examination with 155 participants by 7 experienced and calibrated speech therapists, and the examiners between and within agreement was verified by the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient. Results There were additions, modifications, and exclusions of items according to the age group, resulting in the Myofunctional Orofacial Clinical Examination Protocol for Infants and Preschoolers, which obtained 90.5% agreement; and 100% of the appropriate scores by at least 90% of the specialists. In reliability, most items of the Extraoral and Intraoral Examination and Chewing obtained a reasonable to good, or even excellent, agreement. Conclusion The “Clinical Myofunctional Clinical Examination” was validated based on the test content, response process, and reliability and, along with the “Instructional” and the “Clinical History” is part of the “MMBGR Protocol - Infants and Preschoolers” for speech therapy activities in the age group between 6 and 71 months of age.

RESUMO Objetivo Apresentar Instrutivo e Protocolo de História Clínica Miofuncional Orofacial pertencentes ao Protocolo MMBGR - Lactentes e Pré-escolares, incluindo adaptação e validação do conteúdo e aparência destes. Método Estudo tipo validação, descritivo e transversal. Adaptação a partir do Protocolo MBGR, fundamentada em estudos teóricos e experiência dos autores. Considerados lactentes entre 6 e 23 meses de vida e pré-escolares entre 24 e 71 meses. Obtido consentimento e consenso da versão adaptada pelos autores (originais e atuais). Analisados aparência e conteúdo do novo instrumento por 10 fonoaudiólogos especialistas em Motricidade Orofacial. Realizadas duas rodadas de análise: Primeira com formulário eletrônico contendo questões dicóticas (sim/não), com espaço para justificar as respostas negativas; calculado Índice de Validade de Conteúdo e Teste Binomial Exato; e Segunda com escala Likert 5 posições. Resultados Produzido instrutivo inédito e adaptado o Protocolo de História Clínica, com manutenção de 23 itens pertinentes à faixa etária em questão. Excluídas informações em 7 itens e acrescidas em 8 itens. Inicialmente obteve-se concordâncias de 70% do instrutivo, por pelo menos 70% dos especialistas; e 64% dos itens da História Clínica, por ao menos 90% dos especialistas. Obteve-se na segunda rodada 100% de respostas “Concordo totalmente” dos especialistas. Conclusão “Instrutivo” e “História Clínica Miofuncional Orofacial” tiveram validade de conteúdo e aparência concluída, e junto ao “Exame Clínico” integram o “Protocolo MMBGR - Lactentes e Pré-escolares”, com potencial contribuição para atuação clínica e na pesquisa em Motricidade Orofacial na faixa etária de 6 meses a 5 anos e 11 meses de idade.

ABSTRACT Purpose To present Myofunctional Orofacial Clinical History Instructive and Protocol belonging to the MMBGR Protocol - Infants and Preschoolers, including the adaptation and validation of content and appearance. Methods Validation, descriptive and cross-sectional study. Adaptation based on the MBGR Protocol, based on theoretical studies and the authors' experience. Infants between 6 and 23 months of age and preschoolers between 24 and 71 months were considered. Consent and consensus of the version adapted by the authors (original and current) was obtained. The appearance and content of the new instrument were analyzed by 10 speech therapists specialized in Orofacial Motricity. We performed two analysis rounds. First: an electronic form containing dichotic questions (yes / no), with justification for negative answers; Content Validity Index and Exact Binomial Test; Second: 5 points-Likert scale. Results We produced an unprecedented instructional and adapted Clinical History protocol maintaining 23 age group related items. We excluded information from 7 items and included information in 8. Initially, we achieved agreement in 70% instructional specialist items by at least 70% of the specialists; and 64% of Clinical History items, by at least 90% of specialists. In the second round, there were 100% of “I totally agree” responses from the experts. Conclusion “Instructive” and “Myofunctional Clinical History, Orofacial” had validity of content and appearance concluded, and together with the “Clinical Examination” they integrate the “Protocol MMBGR - Infants and Preschoolers”, being able to contribute to clinical practice and research in Motricity Orofacial area in the age group between 6 months and 5 years and 11 months of age.

RESUMO Objetivo identificar, coletar e analisar, na literatura científica, evidências da existência de protocolos fonoaudiológicos de levantamento da história clínica, conforme classificação de risco, especialmente para distúrbios oromiofuncionais, em lactentes e pré-escolares. Estratégia de pesquisa foram selecionados estudos publicados, sem delimitação temporal, nas bases de dados eletrônicas LILACS, SciELO e PubMed e na literatura cinza (Google Acadêmico). Critérios de seleção estudos disponíveis na íntegra nas línguas portuguesa e inglesa, que identificassem protocolos fonoaudiológicos de história clínica aplicáveis a lactentes (6 a 23 meses de vida) e pré-escolares (24 a 71 meses de vida). Foram excluídas as revisões narrativas e de literatura (integrativa, sistêmica e escopo). Resultados foram encontradas 1371 publicações brasileiras no período de 1980 a 2022. Destas, foram identificadas apenas cinco que tratavam de protocolos fonoaudiológicos para levantamento de dados pregressos a partir da história clínica da faixa etária de 6 a 71 meses. Apenas um desses protocolos possuía classificação de risco para distúrbios fonoaudiológicos, distribuídos na área de linguagem e fluência. Os outros três eram da área de motricidade orofacial (MO) e não continham classificação de risco para distúrbio miofuncional orofacial. Conclusão existem poucos protocolos fonoaudiológicos para levantamento da história clínica de lactentes e pré-escolares que contenham, ou não, classificação de risco, publicados em revistas de acesso aberto e que passaram por processos completos de validação, sendo necessário ampliar estudos e publicações desses instrumentos, inclusive na área de MO.

ABSTRACT Purpose to identify, collect and analyze in the scientific literature evidence of the existence of speech therapy protocols for collecting clinical history, according to risk classification, especially for oromyofunctional disorders, in infants and preschoolers. Research Strategy We selected published studies, without temporal delimitation, in the electronic databases LILACS, SciELO and PUBMED; and in the gray literature (Google Academic). Selection criteria available in full in Portuguese and English, which identify speech-language pathology protocols of clinical history applicable to infants (6 to 23 months of age) and preschoolers (24 to 71 months of age). Narrative and literature reviews (integrative, systemic, and scope) were excluded. Results 1371 Brazilian publications were found in the period from 1980 to 2022. Of these, only five publications on speech therapy protocols were identified for collecting previous data from the clinical history of the age group between 6 and 71 months. Only two of these protocols have a risk classification for speech-language disorders, distributed in the areas of language and fluency. The other three are from the Orofacial Motricity (OM) area and do not carry a risk classification for orofacial myofunctional disorder. Conclusion There are few speech therapy protocols for surveying the clinical history of infants and preschoolers, whether or not they contain risk classification, published in open access journals that have a complete validation process.Therefore there is a need for more research and publication of these instruments, including in the area of OM.

Abstract The highly biodiverse Atlantic Forest has been heavily exploited and its remnant areas, which are mostly composed of secondary forests, cover less than 20% of its original extension. This study analyzed the structure, aboveground biomass (AGB) and species diversity of a secondary evergreen rainforest in the state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil. Individuals with diameter at breast height ≥ 5 cm on 22 sample plots were measured, totalizing 3.49 hectares of sampled area. A mean AGB of 201.6 Mg ha-1 (standard deviation = 35.5) was found; Hyeronima alchorneoides and Miconia cinnamomifolia represented 29.1% and 7.6% of the community AGB ha-1, respectively. A total of 153 species distributed in 107 genera and 55 families was observed; it was estimated that 121 species (95% confidence interval: [117, 125]) occurred in one hectare. These results highlight the importance of secondary forests for biodiversity restoration/conservation and carbon sequestration.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of drying treatment on the characteristics physical, chemical, technological properties and bioactive of turmeric flour. The flour was obtained from the drying of rhizomes in a forced air circulation oven at temperatures of 45, 55, 65 and 75 °C. The analyzes performed were: pH, instrumental color, microstructure, granulometry, water and oil absorption indices, water solubility indices, and antioxidant activity. The characteristics of the flours significantly affected were moisture, protein, lipid and ash contents. The antioxidant capacity with the DPPH radical, for flour at the drying temperature of 45 °C, presented the highest value 36.55 Mmol Trolox g-1, and 7686.32 Mmol FeSO4 g-1 the FRAP radical at 65 °C.The phenolic content varied according to the solvent applied to obtain the extract, the mean values of total phenolic compounds for each temperature were: 0.419, 0.332, 0.316, 0.283 mg GAEa 100 g-1for temperatures 45, 55, 65 and 75°C respectively. Water solubility index (WSI) and oil absorption index ranged from 12.45 g g-1 to 11.78 g g-1 and from 2.54 g g-1 to 2.49 g g-1, respectively, for temperatures of 45 °C and 75 °C. The results of the present study indicated that temperature influences the physicochemical and technological properties of turmeric flour.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to assess a training protocol employed in the Brazilian Northeast region for fitness conditioning of vaquejada horses. For 12 months, 24 Quarter Horses were evaluated under a completely randomized split-plot experimental design in which the plots comprised three age groups: horses at two, three, and four years of age. The split plots were made up of six fitness tests carried out every other month. The fitness test protocol consisted of five levels of protocol exercises on a standard vaquejada track. Prior to the tests with fasted animals, we collected blood samples to determine muscle enzymes (aspartate aminotransferase, creatine kinase, and lactate dehydrogenase). During the tests, heart rate, speed, and distance run were recorded using a heart rate monitor. Next, the results were used to calculate speed at which each horse reached 150 bpm (V150), speed at which each horse reached 200 bpm (V200), maximum heart rate (HRmax), maximum speed (Vmax), recovery time needed for the heart rate of horses to return to half the maximum value reached during the fitness tests (HR50%), and recovery time needed for the heart rate of horses to return to baseline values (HRbasal). No difference was found among the age groups for V150, HRmax, Vmax, HR50%, HRbasal, or muscle enzymes. By the final stage of training, the V200 of the three-year-old horses was higher than that of the four-year-old foals. During training, all groups exhibited increases in serum concentrations of muscle enzymes and reductions in efficiency to recover heart rate after exercise. The training protocol assessed is unable to maintain proper fitness for competitions throughout the year.
