Abstract: Through a comparative analysis of the texts of the French philosopher Régis Debray on Latin America between 1964 and 1967, we sought to understand its theoretical production through two fundamental questions: firstly, to demonstrate how the approximation of Debray with the Cuban government has altered relevant aspects of its theoretical production. In addition, one investigates how this relationship elevated the French philosopher to a position of prestige in the Latin American intellectual field. Secondly, in what way Debray's theoretical production, in particular the famous essay Revolution in the Revolution?, served the Cuban government to maintain Cuba's position as a Latin American revolutionary lighthouse.

Resumo: Através de uma análise comparativa a respeito dos textos do filósofo francês Régis Debray sobre a América Latina, entre 1964 e 1967, buscamos compreender sua produção teórica através de duas questões fundamentais: em primeiro plano, demonstrar de que modo a relação de Debray com o governo cubano alterou aspectos relevantes de sua produção teórica. Para além, investiga-se como essa relação alçou o filósofo francês a uma posição de prestígio no campo intelectual latino-americano. Em um segundo plano, de que modo a produção teórica de Debray, em específico o célebre ensaio Revolução na Revolução?, serviu ao governo cubano para construção da posição de Cuba como farol revolucionário latino-americano.

Resumo Animado pelas comemorações dos 50 anos do governo da coalizão de esquerda Unidade Popular (UP) no Chile, liderado por Salvador Allende, este artigo busca contribuir, através do vislumbre da importância das análises biográficas para compreensão do engajamento militante, às reflexões a respeito da trajetória dos militantes da esquerda brasileira exilados no Chile durante o governo Allende. Por intermédio da trajetória de Vera Sílvia Magalhães, militante da esquerda armada vinculada ao Movimento Revolucionário 8 de Outubro (DI-GB/MR-8), exilada desde 1970, objetiva-se reconstruir a atmosfera de circulação de exilados em Nuestra America. Demonstra-se, por uma perspectiva, como o Chile passou a ser, após a vitória da Unidade Popular, um polo de atração aos militantes latino-americanos e, por outra, como o golpe civil-militar chileno, que culminou no suicídio de Salvador Allende, não foi apenas o fim da "via chilena ao socialismo". No limite, ele representa o golpe final desfechado ao projeto da revolução brasileira e latino-americana pela via da luta armada, reconfigurando a visão sobre o exílio, até então compreendido dentro de uma lógica de provisoriedade e curta duração, colocando na ordem do dia a questão do desengajamento.

Abstract Driven by the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the left-wing coalition government Popular Unity (UP) in Chile, led by Salvador Allende, this paper seeks to contribute to the reflections on the history of militants of the Brazilian left who were exiled in Chile during the Allende government. It does so through considering the importance of biographical analysis to the understanding of militant engagement. Analyzing the path of Vera Sílvia Magalhães, militant of the armed left linked to the Revolutionary Movement 8 of October (DI-GB / MR-8), exiled since 1970, our goal is to reconstruct the atmosphere involving the circulation of exiles in Nuestra America, demonstrating how Chile became, after the victory of the Popular Unit, a pole of attraction to Latin American militants. We also aim to demonstrate how the Chilean civil-military coup, which culminated in the suicide of Salvador Allende, was not only the end of the "Chilean way to socialism". In conclusion, it was the final blow to the project of the Brazilian and Latin-American revolution through the armed struggle, reconfiguring perspectives on exile, until then understood within a logic of provisionality and short duration, and putting the issue of disengagement on the agenda.
