A agressividade no desporto, a par da novidade, é objeto de alguma controvérsia explicativa em face das várias teorias que analisam este tema. Sendo um tema amplamente divulgado socialmente, é certo que não tem merecido suficiente tratamento por parte da investigação nas ciências sociais e humanas. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo recolher e analisar o comportamento agressivo de jogadores portugueses de futebol. Participaram no estudo 125 jogadores do escalão sênior, que pertenciam a 1a Liga do Campeonato de Portugal em 2000-2001 e 88 jogadores do escalão júnior das duas subdivisões (17 e 18 anos). Os jogadores do escalão sênior situavam-se na faixa etária entre 20 e 35 anos, enquanto os futebolistas do escalão júnior variavam entre 17 e 19 anos. Este estudo envolveu a aplicação do Bredemeier Athletic Aggression Inventory (BAAGI). Os resultados sugerem que os jogadores pertencentes ao escalão sênior apresentam índices superiores de agressividade reativa ou hostil, havendo uma avaliação estatisticamente representativa entre o número e o tipo de cartões (amarelos e vermelhos) recebidos pelo atleta e as suas auto-avaliações em termos de agressividade.

Aggressiveness in sports, besides being something new, is object of controversy in relation to a variety of theories on this subject. As a worldwide socially spread subject, it certainly has not been investigated by social and human sciences the way it should be. The objective of this dissertation was the collection and analysis of soccer players' behavior. This study analyzed 125 senior players, belonging to the Principal League of Portugal in 2000-2001 and 88 junior players belonging to the two subdivisions (17 and 18 years old). The age of the senior players ranged from 20 to 35 years old, whereas the age of junior players ranged from 17 to 19 years olds. This study involved the application of Bredemeier Athletic Aggression Inventory (BAAGI). The findings suggest that the senior players present higher rates of reactive or hostile aggressiveness, demonstrating a statistically significant assessment between the number and the kind of cards (yellow and red) received by the athlete, as well as their self-assessments in terms of aggressiveness.

Este estudo objetivou verificar o nível de motivação dos alunos nas aulas de Educação Física e caracterizar os motivos que os levam a essas aulas. Os sujeitos foram quarenta alunos de 5a à 8a séries do ano de 1.999 de uma escola particular. Utilizou-se como instrumento um questionário com dez questões fechadas referindo-se: aos motivos que os levam às aulas, ao conteúdo das atividades, ao relacionamento com o professor e ao sistema de avaliação. Encontrou-se um nível de motivação maior para os alunos do sexo masculino e diferenças em suas razões de acordo com o gênero e a série. Ressalta-se a necessidade de contribuições da Psicologia para a disciplina de Educação Física.

The main object of this study was to analyze the data regarding the motivation of the students in the physical education classes. The subjects were forty students from 5th to 8th grades during the year of 1.999 in a private school. A questionnaire of ten close questions was used to determine the reasons that take them to the classes, the content of the activities, the relationship with the teacher, and the evaluation system. It was found a higher motivation level for the male students and the differences in their reason according to the gender and grade. The necessity of contribution from Psychology to this discipline was emphasized.
