Resumo O presente artigo tem por finalidade apresentar, em um plano epistemológico e a partir de exemplos práticos, a defesa de uma história cruzada dos saberes, entendendo-a como o estudo focado na caracterização e na explicação de circuitos de ideias e de pessoas entre diferentes disciplinas. Para tanto, parte-se da problematização dos pressupostos das histórias disciplinares, discutindo, na sequência, os prodígios e as vertigens de modelos que almejam reconstituir a unidade e a totalidade disciplinar ao longo do tempo. Mesmo considerando o interesse desses modelos, o restante do artigo insiste no lugar da interdisciplinaridade no seio das disciplinas. Tal recorte permite propor agendas experimentais que ampliem a compreensão acerca das possibilidades disciplinares, ontem, hoje e amanhã.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to present, on an epistemological basis and from practical examples, the defense of a crossed history of knowledge, understanding it as the study focused on the characterization and explanation of circuits of ideas and people between different disciplines. The article starts with the problematization of presuppositions of the disciplinary histories, discussing, then, the prodigies and the vertigos of models that aim to reconstitute the unit and the disciplinary totality through time. Even considering the interest of these models, the article insists on the place of interdisciplinarity within the disciplines. Such cutting allows the proposal of experimental agendas that allow broadening the understanding of disciplinary possibilities, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Resumo O centenário da morte de um autor é uma ocasião que convida à reflexão sobre o sentido e as consequências de seu legado. Neste texto, procuramos pontuar alguns elementos biográficos de Émile Durkheim (1858-1917), que ajudam a situá-lo em seu contexto original e, sobretudo, delinear alguns dos principais aspectos que caracterizam sua recepção nas ciências sociais no decorrer dos últimos cem anos. O argumento que apresentamos aqui é que há, pelo menos, três tipos de apropriações: Durkheim do senso comum sociológico, Durkheim dos durkheimianos e Durkheim interlocutor das teorias sociais. Ao mesmo tempo, apontamos como os seis textos que integram o presente dossiê dão testemunho dessa diversidade de leituras possíveis, bem como da vivacidade da presença de Durkheim nas ciências sociais contemporâneas. Esperamos que este seja um convite a uma compreensão crítica e complexa da história da nossa própria disciplina.

Abstract The centennial of an author's death invites to reflect on the meaning and consequences of his/her legacy. In this text, we seek to present some elements of Émile Durkheim's (1858-1917) biography, which help to situate this author in his original context, and especially some of the main aspects that characterize his reception in the social sciences over the last hundred years. We argue that there are at least three kinds of appropriations: Durkheim of the sociological common sense, Durkheim of the Durkheimians, and Durkheim interlocutor of social theories. At the same time, we point out how the six articles that constitute this dossier illustrate such diversity of possible readings, and demonstrate the liveliness of Durkheim's presence in the contemporary social sciences. We hope this to be an invitation to a critical and complex understanding of the history of our own discipline.

O artigo apresenta um balanço das mais recentes descobertas documentais relativas ao sociólogo francês Émile Durkheim, e reflete sobre seu impacto na reavaliação, seja ela histórica e/ou teórico-metodológica, de seu legado. Almeja-se armar o leitor frente à leitura de sua correspondência com Salomon Reinach, enfatizando particularmente o debate sobre o tema do totemismo, que é um dos eixos centrais de As formas elementares da vida religiosa, obra que neste ano completa seu centenário de publicação, e o envolvimento de Durkheim no Caso Dreyfuss, que representa um dos principais aspectos de seu engajamento político.

The article comments on the recent documental discoveries on Émile Durkheim's oeuvre, and evaluates its impact on the French sociologist's legacy. It aims at enabling the reader to more completely understand the exchange between Durkheim and Salomon Reinach, dedicating special attention to the subject of totemism, one of the fundamental issues of The elementary forms of religious life, published in 1912, and to Durhkeim's involvement with the Dreyfuss affair, which illuminates his political orientation and loyalties.
