Abstract This study presents findings from research conducted with indigenous and peasant students (n = 53) in their first year of the Rural Education Degree (Countryside Education) program at a public university in the Brazilian Midwest. We investigated previous knowledge and methods for developing entomological knowledge using structured questionnaires with open, closed, and multiple-choice questions. As a result, we discovered 24 distinct types of animals known as insects. Indigenous peoples conceptualized insects using ecological principles, whereas peasants approached the subject from health and emotional perspectives. Our findings revealed that indigenous students’ prior entomological knowledge was primarily developed within their families, while peasant students developed it at school. This study provides important insights into pre-existing knowledge and the development of entomological understanding in an intercultural setting. Resumo: Este estudo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa realizada com estudantes indígenas e camponeses (n = 53) do primeiro ano do curso de Licenciatura em Educação do Campo em uma universidade pública do Centro-Oeste brasileiro. Examinamos, por meio de questionários estruturados com perguntas abertas, fechadas e de múltipla escolha, o conhecimento prévio e as formas de construção do conhecimento entomológico. Como resultado, encontramos 24 tipos de animais citados como insetos. Os indígenas conceituam insetos com base em conceitos ecológicos e os camponeses com base em aspectos de saúde e emocionais. Descobrimos que o conhecimento entomológico prévio desses estudantes foi criado dentro do núcleo familiar, no caso dos indígenas, e na escola, no caso dos camponeses. Esta pesquisa traz informações legítimas sobre o conhecimento prévio e a construção do conhecimento entomológico, numa perspectiva intercultural, a fim de promover uma reflexão sobre o diálogo entre tradições, conhecimento popular e científico. ABSTRACT Objective: We aimed to describe the main demographic, clinical, laboratory and therapeutic characteristics and to identify whether they are associated with mortality in tracheostomized patients. Material and methods. Retrospective cohort study in adult patients diagnosed with COVID-19, admitted to ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and requiring tracheostomy. Demographic, clinical, laboratory and treatment data were obtained from the medical records of patients admitted to Hospital III Daniel Alcides Carrión in Tacna. The Cox proportional hazards model was used for survival analysis and hazard ratios (HR) with their 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were calculated. Results. We evaluated 73 patients, 72.6% were men, the most common comorbidities were obesity (68.5%), type 2 diabetes mellitus (35.6%), and arterial hypertension (34.2%). Thirty-seven percent of the participants died during their stay at the ICU. The median time from intubation to tracheostomy and the duration of tracheostomy was 17 (RIC: 15-21) and 21 (RIC: 3-39) days, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that the factors associated with mortality were procalcitonin > 0.50 ng/dL at the time of tracheostomy (HRa: 2.40 95%CI: 1.03-5.59) and a PaO2/FiO2 ratio less than or equal to 150 mmHg (HRa: 4.44 95%CI: 1.56-12.60). Conclusions. The factors associated with mortality at the time of tracheostomy were procalcitonin > 0.50 ng/dL and a PaO2/FiO2 ratio less than or equal to 150 mmHg.

RESUMEN Objetivo. Describir las principales características demográficas, clínicas, laboratoriales y terapéuticas e identificar si están asociados con la mortalidad en pacientes traqueostomizados. Material y métodos. Estudio de cohorte retrospectiva en pacientes adultos con diagnóstico de COVID-19, ingresados a UCI (Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos) y que requirieron traqueostomía. Se extrajeron datos demográficos, clínicos, laboratoriales y de tratamiento de las historias clínicas de pacientes que ingresaron al Hospital III Daniel Alcides Carrión de Tacna. Para el análisis de supervivencia se empleó el modelo de riesgos proporcionales de Cox y se calcularon los cocientes de riesgo instantáneos (HR) con sus intervalos de confianza al 95% (IC95%). Resultados. Se evaluaron 73 pacientes, el 72,6% eran hombres, las comorbilidades más comunes fueron obesidad (68,5%), diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (35,6%) e hipertensión arterial (34,2%). El 37% de los participantes fallecieron durante la estancia en UCI. La mediana de tiempo desde la intubación hasta la traqueostomía y la duración de esta fue 17 (RIC: 15−21) y 21 (RIC: 3−39) días, respectivamente. El análisis multivariado mostró que los factores asociados a mortalidad, fueron presentar un valor de procalcitonina > 0,50 ng/dL en el momento de la traqueostomía (HRa: 2,40 IC95%: 1,03−5,59) y el nivel de PaO2/FiO2 menor o igual a 150 mmHg, (HRa: 4,44 IC95%: 1,56−12,60). Conclusiones. Los factores asociados a mortalidad al momento de realizar la traqueostomía fueron presentar un valor de procalcitonina > 0,50 ng/dL y un cociente PaO2/FiO2 menor o igual a 150 mmHg.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Infections Associated with Health Care (IAAS) are a serious problem for health care facilities, not only as a cause of morbidity and mortality but also because of the high costs they generate. Contaminated environments are a danger for any health care facilities. Objective: To determine the efficacy of hospital disinfectants against microorganisms isolated from surfaces (ventilator, monitor and surface of the hospital bed) in critical areas of the “Santa Rosa” Hospital, Lima-Peru. Material and Methods: An observational, prospective and cross-sectional study was conducted to evaluate disinfection products used to clean floors and surfaces. The surface challenge test was performed using control strains. Samples were collected from the adult intensive care unit (ICU), the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and the special care unit (SCU) of the Santa Rosa Hospital. The effect of the disinfectants was evaluated at the fifth, tenth and fifteen minutes. Results: Under the study conditions and considering the time and speed of bacterial death due to the disinfectant effect, the most effective products were quaternary ammonium (Supersafe-D) and 1% sodium hypochlorite. Conclusions: None of the disinfectants met the chamber test requirements. The products achieved the expected effects after 10 to 15 minutes.

RESUMEN Introducción: Las Infecciones Asociadas a la Atención en Salud (IAAS) son un serio problema para los establecimientos de salud, no solo como causal de morbimortalidad sino también por los altos costos que generan. La contaminación de ambientes son un peligro para cualquier establecimiento sanitario. Objetivo: Determinar la eficacia de los desinfectantes de uso hospitalario frente a microorganismos aislados de superficies (respirador, monitor y superficie de la cama clínica) de áreas críticas del Hospital “Santa Rosa”, Lima, Perú. Material y Métodos: Estudio observacional, prospectivo y transversal, se evaluaron varios productos de desinfección de superficies. Se utilizó la prueba de reto en superficie utilizando cepas control. Las muestras fueron recolectadas de los servicios de Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Adultos (UCI), Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatal (UCINEO), Unidad de Cuidados Especiales de Medicina (UCEM) del Hospital “San Rosa”. El efecto de los desinfectantes evaluados se realizó a los 5, 10 y 15 minutos. Resultados: En las condiciones del ensayo y considerando los tiempos y velocidad de muerte bacteriana por efecto del desinfectante, los productos de mayor eficacia resultaron ser el amonio cuaternario (Supersafe D) e hipoclorito de sodio a 1 %. Conclusiones: Ninguno de los desinfectantes logró alcanzar las exigencias del test de Chambers. Los productos lograron efectos esperados a partir de los 10 ó15 minutos.

Abstract Ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is characterized by a bony or fibrous fusion between the articular fossa and the condyle. It represents one of the greatest therapeutic challenges in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Several treatments have been used for its management, such as gap arthroplasty, interpositional arthroplasty, and TMJ reconstruction with autogenous bone graft and alloplastic prostheses. A 39-year-old Black male patient developed a complex mandibular symphysis fracture associated with bilateral high condylar fractures after a motorcycle accident. In the first approach, osteosynthesis was performed to reduce and fix symphysis fractures and conservatively treat the condyles. However, the patient did not proceed with physiotherapy and adequate follow-up, evolving into bilateral ankylosis. Subsequently, he underwent interpositional arthroplasty with a temporal muscle flap. The treatment of ankylosis is imperatively surgical and aims to release the joint and reanatomize the region, restoring functionality to the stomatognathic system. The choice of technique depends on many factors, including age. In children, gap arthroplasty is the most frequent choice because it helps in the centrality of condylar growth. In adult patients, gap arthroplasty with interposition of the temporal muscle is eligible, as it restores function and reduces the recurrence of bone fusion and consequent re-ankylosis. Re s u m o A anquilose da articulação temporomandibular (ATM) é caracterizada pela fusão óssea ou fibrosa da fossa articular com a cabeça da mandíbula. Representa um dos maiores desafios terapêuticos na cirurgia oral e maxilofacial. Tratamentos diversos têm sido utilizados para o seu manuseamento, tais como artroplastia de gap, artroplastia interposicional e reconstrução da ATM com enxerto ósseo autógeno e próteses aloplásticas. Paciente do sexo masculino, 39 anos, melanoderma, vítima de acidente motociclístico evoluiu com fratura complexa de sínfise mandibular associada a fraturas altas dos côndilos bilateralmente. Numa primeira abordagem, foi realizada a osteossíntese para redução e fixação das fraturas da sínfise e tratamento conservador dos côndilos. Entretanto, o paciente não prosseguiu com a fisioterapia e acompanhamento orientados, evoluindo para anquilose bilateral. Foi posteriormente submetido a artroplastia interposicional com retalho do músculo temporal. O tratamento das anquiloses é imperativamente cirúrgico e tem como objetivo a liberação da articulação e reanatomização da região, devolvendo funcionalidade ao sistema estomatognático. A escolha da técnica depende de alguns fatores, incluindo a idade. Em crianças, a artroplastia em gap é a escolha mais frequente pois auxilia na centralidade do crescimento condilar. Em pacientes adultos, a artroplastia em gap com interposição do músculo temporal é elegível, pois devolve a função e diminui a recidiva da fusão óssea e consequente re-anquilose

Resumen Se calculan las anchuras totales de decaimiento de los bosones de Higgs cargado (H 2 ±) y de calibre (V±) en la versión del Modelo 3-3-1 con leptones pesados. En cada caso, se analizan las razones de decaimiento y se determinan los canales más probables, lo que consecuentemente hace posible la identificación de los eventos finales más admisibles.

Abstract The total decay widths of the charged Higgs boson. (H 2 ±) and gauge (V±) have been calculated in the version of the 3-3-1 Model with heavy leptons. In each case, we analyze the decay rates and determine the most likely channels to occur in order to identify the most relevant final events.

ABSTRACT This research shows that the licensing of Peruvian universities was not aimed at seeking the quality of university education, having been an imposed and directed process. The main objective of this research is to analyze the licensing process implemented by the National Superintendence of University Higher Education of Peru, in order to identify its respective academic and administrative effects. For this purpose, a systematic review and analysis of the bibliography was carried out through an exploratory design. During this stage, punitive regulations were imposed to close universities and sanction their authorities; and reasons for prohibition and cancellation of schools, faculties or postgraduate programs, among others, are established. Some universities are denied licenses and others that do not comply with the same requirements are granted licenses, revealing a political bias and inddividual interests in the process. It is concluded that the Peruvian university licensing responded to a counter-reformist policy to prevent the advancement of liberties, that, despite the lack of budget, the higher education institutions had positioned themselves in the national development, with their own creativity and leadership.

RESUMEN Esta investigación demuestra que el licenciamiento en la Universidad peruana no estuvo dirigido a buscar la calidad de la educación universitaria, habiendo sido un proceso impositivo y direccionado. La investigación tiene como objetivo central analizar el proceso de licenciamiento que implementó la Superintendencia Nacional de Educación Superior Universitaria del Perú, con la finalidad de identificar sus respectivos efectos académicos y administrativos. Para dicho objetivo se recurrió a una revisión sistemática y al análisis de la bibliografía mediante un diseño exploratorio. Durante esta etapa, se imponen reglamentos punitivos para cerrar universidades y sancionar a sus autoridades; y se establecen razones de prohibición y anulación de escuelas, facultades o programas de Postgrado entre otros. Se les niega la licencia a algunas universidades y se le otorgar a otras que no cumplen esas mismas exigencias; quedando en evidencia un sesgo político e intereses particulares en el proceso. Se concluye que el licenciamiento universitario peruano respondió a una política contra reformista para impedir el avance de las libertades, que, pese a la carencia de presupuesto, las casas de Estudios Superiores se habían posicionado en el desarrollo nacional, con creatividad y liderazgos propios.

Abstract Several phytogeographic regions (Cerrado, Pantanal, Atlantic Forest, Gran Chaco, and Chiquitano Dry Forests) converge in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, and influence regional biodiversity. Despite a list of birds in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul being published by Nunes et al. (2017), it is necessary to update and critically review avifauna records. In this study, we gathered the results of several records obtained from species lists and online data platforms of the 336 sites in this state over the last decades and grouped them into Main (Primary and Secondary) and Tertiary Lists. The avifauna of Mato Grosso do Sul is composed of 678 species, of which 643 (95%) have records proving their occurrence (Primary List), whereas 34 still lack documentation (Secondary List). The number of related species for Mato Grosso do Sul represents 34% of the Brazilian avifauna. Some species stand out for their unique occurrence in Mato Grosso do Sul, such as Melanerpes cactorum, Celeus lugubris, Phaethornis subochraceus, and Cantorchilus guarayanus, reflecting the influence of different phytogeographic regions of the Chaco and Chiquitano Dry Forests. Migrants represent 20% of the bird community occurring in the state, of which 93 species correspond to migrants from various regions of South America (south and west) and 40 to boreal migrants. Thirty-three species perform nomadic movements across the Pantanal Plain and other regions of the state. Thirty-one species are included in some conservation-threatened categories of global and/or national endangered species lists. Other 30 species are included in the near-threatened category at the global level and 23 at the national level. In addition, species typical of dry forests (in Serra da Bodoquena and Maciço do Urucum) and those from the Atlantic Forest in the south of the state deserve attention due to their restricted distribution and the high anthropogenic pressure on their habitat.

Resumen Se estima la dosis absorbida de radiofármacos en adultos con sospecha de embolia pulmonar explorada por estudios de ventilación/perfusión. Para estudios de ventilación pulmonar se utilizan 81mKr, 133Xe, 99mTc (Technegas) -aerosol y 99mTc (DTPA) -aerosol. Para agentes de perfusión se utilizan 99mTc (MAA) y 99mTc(MSA) (macroagregados y microesferas de albumina). Para el cálculo de dosis se utiliza la metodología MIRD y la representación antropomórfica de los órganos biocinéticos de Cristy-Eckerman. En estudios de ventilación/perfusión la menor dosis absorbida por los pulmones con sospecha de embolia se debe a 81mKr/99mTc (MSA), y la dosis más alta se debe a 99mTc(Technegas)/99mTc(MAA), calculada para actividades de 150 MBq para agentes de perfusión y 40 MBq para agentes de ventilación.

Abstract The absorbed dose of radiopharmaceuticals is estimated in adults with suspected pulmonary embolism explored by ventilation/perfusion studies. For pulmonary ventilation studies 81mKr, 133Xe, 99mTc (Technegas)-aerosol and 99mTc (DTPA)-aerosol are used. For perfusion agents, 99m Tc(MAA), 99mTc (MSA) (macroaggregates and albumin microspheres) are used. For the dose calculation, the MIRD methodology and the anthropomorphic representation of the biokinetic organs of Cristy-Eckerman are used. In ventilation/perfusion studies, the lowest dose absorbed by the lungs with suspected embolism is due to 81mKr/99mTc (MSA), and the highest dose is due to 99mTc (Technegas)/99mTc (MAA) calculated for activities of 150 MBq for perfusion agents and 40 MBq for ventilation agents.

ABSTRACT Objectives: To estimate the prevalence and factors associated with the intention to be vaccinated (ITV) against COVID-19 in Peru. Materials and methods: Analytical cross-sectional study using the survey conducted by the University of Maryland, USA, on Facebook. The dependent variable is the ITV. Crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (PR) were calculated, with their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) using generalized linear models of the Poisson family, in order to evaluate the association of sociodemographic variables, compliance with community mitigation strategies, symptoms of COVID-19, mental health and acceptance of vaccination before the recommendation (AVR) by various actors and health authorities, with the ITV. Results: Data from 17,162 adults were analyzed. The overall prevalence of the ITV was 74.9%. A lower prevalence of the ITV was associated with the female sex (PR=0.95; 95% CI: 0.94-0.97), living in a town (PR=0.95; 95% CI: 0.91-0.99) or village or other rural area (PR=0.90; 95% CI: 0.86-0.93) and the AVR of politicians (PR=0.89; 95% CI: 0.87-0.92). Conversely, having COVID-19 symptoms (PR=1.06; 95% CI: 1.03-1.09), economic insecurity (PR=1.04; 95% CI: 1.01-1.06), fears of becoming seriously ill or that a family member becomes seriously ill from COVID-19 (PR=1.49; 95% CI: 1.36-1.64) and the AVR of family and friends (PR=1.10; 95% CI: 1.08-1.12), healthcare workers (PR=1.29; 95% CI: 1.26-1.32), World Health Organization (PR=1.34; 95% CI: 1.29-1.40) and government officials (PR=1.18; 95% CI: 1.15-1.22) was associated with a higher prevalence of the ITV. Conclusions: Three-quarters of the respondents had the ITV. There are potentially modifiable factors that could improve vaccine acceptance.

RESUMEN Objetivos: Estimar la prevalencia y los factores asociados a la intención de vacunación (IDV) contra la COVID-19 en el Perú. Materiales y métodos: Estudio transversal analítico utilizando una encuesta realizada por la Universidad de Maryland, EUA, en Facebook. La variable dependiente fue la IDV. Se calcularon razones de prevalencia (RP) crudas y ajustadas, con sus intervalos de confianza al 95% (IC95%), mediante modelos lineales generalizados de la familia Poisson para evaluar la asociación de variables sociodemográficas, el cumplimiento de estrategias comunitarias de mitigación, los síntomas de la COVID-19, la salud mental y la aceptación de la vacunación ante la recomendación (AVR) por diversos actores y autoridades sanitarias. Resultados: Se analizaron los datos de 17 162 adultos. La prevalencia general de la IDV fue del 74,9%. Se asociaron a una menor prevalencia de la IDV ser de sexo femenino (RP=0,95; IC95%:0,94-0,97), vivir en un pueblo (RP=0,95; IC95%:0,91-0,99) o en una aldea u otra área rural (RP=0,90; IC95%:0,86-0,93) y la AVR de políticos (RP=0,89; IC95%: 0,87-0,92). Contrariamente, tener síntomas de COVID-19 (RP=1,06; IC95%:1,03-1,09), inseguridad económica (RP=1,04; IC95%: 1,01-1,06), miedo a enfermar o que un familiar enferme de COVID-19 (RP=1,49; IC95%: 1,36-1,64) y la AVR de familiares y amigos (RP=1,10; IC95%: 1,08-1,12), trabajadores de la salud (RP=1,29; IC95%: 1,26-1,32), la Organización Mundial de la Salud (RP=1,34; IC95%: 1,29-1,40) y funcionarios del gobierno (RP=1,18; IC95%: 1,15-1,22) se asociaron con mayor prevalencia de IDV. Conclusiones: Tres cuartas partes de los encuestados manifiestan IDV. Existen factores potencialmente modificables que podrían mejorar la aceptación de la vacuna.

Resumen Se calculo la dosis absorbida en la pared uterina y feto de una mujer con tres meses de gestación sometida a estudios renales con 99mTc-DTPA, 99mTc-DMSA y 99mTc-MAG3. Para el cálculo dosimétrico se usó la metodología MIRD y la representación antropomórfica de los órganos maternos debido a Stabin. La mayor dosis absorbida por la pared uterina y el feto se obtuvieron con el uso del 99mTc-MAG3. El órgano de la biocinética que contribuye con la mayor dosis es la vejiga. La menor dosis absorbida por la pared uterina y el feto se obtuvieron con el uso del 99mTc-DMSA. El órgano de la biocinética que contribuye con la mayor dosis es el "resto" de órganos.

Abstract The absorbed dose in the uterine wall and fetus of a woman with three months of gestation submitted to renal studies with 99mTc-DTPA, 99mTc-DMSA, and 99mTc-MAG3 was calculated. For the dosimetric calculation, the MIRD methodology and the anthropomorphic representation of the maternal organs due to Stabin were used. The highest dose absorbed by the uterine wall and the fetus were obtained with the use of 99mTc-MAG3. The organ of biokinetics that contributes to the highest dose is the bladder. The lowest dose absorbed by the uterine wall and the fetus were obtained with the use of 99mTc-DMSA. The organ of biokinetics that contributes the highest dose is the "rest" of organs.

ABSTRACT The use of social networks in teaching, given the current conditions in which we find ourselves, is a necessity, thus the main objective of the research was to determine the intrinsic factors that arise from the use of WhatsApp in mathematics in students. Fifth grade secondary school students from the Huancavelica region. The study was carried out at a descriptive transectional level, with a sample of 55, applying a questionnaire to students from the La Victoria de Ayacucho Educational Institution, in the Huancavelica region, Peru. The methodology for the analysis of the results was carried out through multivariate techniques of exploratory factor analysis and cluster. It was obtained that three factors underlie the use of WhatsApp in mathematics in students of the fifth grade of secondary education in the Huancavelica region, the predominant factor being the exchange of information between students and teacher-student within the teaching and learning process of mathematics through remote work.

RESUMEN El uso de las redes sociales en la enseñanza, frente a las condiciones actuales en las cuales nos encontramos, es una necesidad, siendo así el principal objetivo de la investigación fue determinar los factores intrínsecos que surgen a partir del uso del WhatsApp en matemática en los estudiantes del quinto grado de educación secundaria de la región de Huancavelica. El estudio se realizó a nivel descriptivo transeccional, con una muestra de 55, aplicando un cuestionario a los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa La Victoria de Ayacucho, de la región de Huancavelica, Perú. La metodología para el análisis de los resultados se realizó a través de técnicas multivariables de análisis factorial exploratorio y clúster. Se obtuvo que tres factores subyacen al uso del WhatsApp en matemática en los estudiantes del quinto grado de educación secundaria de la región de Huancavelica, siendo el factor que predomina, el intercambio de información entre estudiantes y docente-estudiante dentro de proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la matemática por medio del trabajo remoto.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the diagnosis and prevalence of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) in Maria Auxiliadora General Hospital in Lima, Peru, during 2019. Material and Methods: This is a prospective randomized longitudinal descriptive study. The sample included 76 patients, and Research Criteria for Diagnosing Temporomandibular Joint Disorders were used. Results: We found that 73.7% patients were female, particularly belonging to the 30-39 years age group (35.6%). TMJD etiology is multifactorial and it is related to structural, functional, and psychological factors. When diagnosing TMJD, headache was the main symptom (38.1%), and pain on palpation (51.4%) was the most prominent sign on clinical examination, particularly in females (38.2%). Mixed anxiety-depressive disorder, was the most frequent mental status alteration associated with TMJD found on clinical examination (50.0%), and it also was more frequently found in females (38.2%). A combination of general clinical and ear, nose, and throat examination allowed reaching a diagnosis in 77.6% of all subjects. Conclusion: Patients with TMJD who present with headache and concomitantly with anxiety-depression, require integrative and early therapy management, so they may be reinstalled to their working environment and improve their productivity. TMJD should be considered as a frequent cause of headache.

RESUMEN El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar el diagnóstico y la prevalencia de la Disfunción Temporomandibular (DTM), en el Hospital General María Auxiliadora, Lima, 2019. Material y métodos. Trabajo descriptivo, prospectivo, longitudinal y al azar. La muestra se constituyó con 76 pacientes, aplicándose los Criterios de Investigación para Diagnóstico de Desórdenes Témporo-Mandibulares(RDC/TDM). Resultados. Encontramos, que 73.7% fue del sexo femenino, especialmente en el grupo etario de 30-39 años (35.6%). La etiología de la DTM, es multifactorial y está relacionada a factores estructurales, funcionales y psicológicos. En el diagnóstico de DTM, la cefalea (38.1%) fue el principal síntoma y el dolor a la palpación de la articulación témporomandibular (51.4%), fue el signo destacado en el examen clínico, especialmente, en el sexo femenino (38.2%). El trastorno mixto de Ansiedad-Depresión, fue el cuadro clínico, de alteración del estado de salud mental más frecuente (50.0%), asociado a DTM, predominando en el sexo femenino (38.2%). La combinación de exámenes clínico-otorrinolaringológico, permitió el diagnóstico de DTM, en 77.6% de pacientes. Conclusión. Los pacientes con cuadros clínicos de DTM, que cursan con cefalea y concomitantemente con Ansiedad-Depresión, requieren un manejo terapéutico integral y precoz, para restituirlos a su ambiente de trabajo y mejorar su productividad laboral; la DTM, debería ser considerada, como una causa frecuente de cefalea.
