RESUMO Este estudo tem o objetivo de investigar a interdependência entre o gainsharing e a avaliação de desempenho (objetiva e subjetiva) em uma cooperativa de crédito. Há um debate recente sobre a interdependência entre as práticas de controle gerencial, o qual emerge da discussão de pacotes ou sistemas de controle. Este estudo aprofunda-se nesta discussão ao investigar a complementariedade entre gainsharing (modalidade de incentivos em grupo) e a avaliação de desempenho em um contexto de cooperativa de crédito, tendo em vista a necessidade de estudos empíricos qualitativos sobre esse fenômeno. Este estudo é considerado relevante pois o uso conjunto de práticas de controle gerencial pode permitir às organizações mitigar de forma mais efetiva os problemas de controle, como a falta de direção, motivação e competência. Esta pesquisa promove insights sobre o funcionamento das práticas de controle gerencial - tendo em vista a discussão da complementariedade entre gainsharing, que não é um sistema de incentivos predominante na maior parte das organizações - bem como sobre a avaliação objetiva e subjetiva de desempenho. A metodologia consiste em um estudo de campo qualitativo em uma cooperativa de crédito utilizando, como coleta de dados, a realização de entrevistas e o acesso a documentos, que foram analisados a partir de abordagem interpretativista. Esta pesquisa apresenta evidências sobre o fenômeno da interdependência entre as práticas de controle gerencial, agregando a literatura ao abordar diferentes formas de complementariedade entre um sistema de incentivos em grupo na modalidade de gainsharing e a avaliação de desempenho. Evidenciou-se que o gainsharing reforça o processo de avaliação objetiva de desempenho ao mitigar os problemas de motivação e direção, enquanto a avaliação subjetiva de desempenho compensa a avaliação objetiva de desempenho ao deslocar o foco da avaliação para as competências do indivíduo.

ABSTRACT This study aims to investigate the interdependence between gainsharing and performance evaluation (objective and subjective) in a credit union. There is a recent debate on the interdependence between management control practices, which emerges from the discussion of control packages or systems. This study delves into this discussion by investigating the complementarity between gainsharing (group incentive modality) and performance evaluation in a credit union context, given the need for qualitative empirical studies on this phenomenon. This study is considered relevant because the joint use of management control practices can allow organizations to effectively mitigate control problems such as lack of direction, motivation, and competence. This research promotes insights into management control practices’ operation - given the discussion of complementarity between gainsharing, which is not a prevalent incentive system in most organizations - and objective and subjective performance evaluation. The methodology consists of a qualitative field study in a credit union using data collection, interviews, and access to documents analyzed using an interpretive approach. This research presents evidence on the phenomenon of interdependence between management control practices, adding to the literature by addressing different forms of complementarity between a group incentive system in the form of gainsharing and performance evaluation. It became evident that gainsharing reinforces the objective performance evaluation process by mitigating motivation and direction problems, while the subjective performance evaluation compensates the objective performance evaluation by shifting the focus of the evaluation to the individual's skills.

Resumo Objetivo caracterizar os óbitos por aids elegíveis para investigação pelo Comitê Municipal de Mortalidade por Aids (CMAids) de Porto Alegre, Brasil, em 2015, e seus itinerários terapêuticos. Métodos estudo descritivo, com dados secundários de sistemas de informações de vigilância e das fichas de investigação do CMAids. Resultados entre 336 óbitos por causas relacionadas à aids, 113 (33,6%) foram considerados evitáveis, dos quais 52 foram investigados pelo CMAids; verificou-se predomínio do sexo masculino (30/52), baixa escolaridade (29/52 casos até a 8ª série incompleta) e tempo de até 2 anos entre o diagnóstico da infecção pelo HIV e a morte (28/52); a tuberculose foi a causa de morte mais frequente (17/52); em 50/52 casos, identificou-se pelo menos uma falha no itinerário terapêutico. Conclusão os óbitos evitáveis de pessoas com aids ocorreram, majoritariamente, em pessoas do sexo masculino, de baixa escolaridade, com diagnóstico recente de HIV e em decorrência da tuberculose.

Abstract Objective to characterize AIDS deaths eligible for Porto Alegre AIDS Mortality Committee (AIDSMC) investigation, Brazil, in 2015, and their therapeutic itineraries. Methods this was a descriptive study using secondary data from surveillance information systems and AIDSMC investigation forms. Results out of 336 deaths from AIDS-related causes, 113 (33.6%) were considered avoidable, of which 52 were analyzed by AIDSMC; there was predominance of males (30/52), low schooling level (29/52 incomplete elementary education), and less than 2 years between HIV infection diagnosis and death (28/52); tuberculosis was the most frequent cause of death (17/52); and in 50/52 cases at least one therapeutic itinerary inadequacy was identified. Conclusion avoidable deaths of people with AIDS occurred mostly in men, those with low education level, those with recent HIV diagnosis and most deaths were due to tuberculosis.

Phase transitions, thermal stability, thermokinetics and activation parameters of degradation reaction of the dicationic ionic liquids (ILs), 1,n-bis(3-methylimidazolium-1-yl)alkane ([BisAlk(MIM)2][2Br]) and monocationic ILs, 1-(3-methylimidazolium-1-yl)alkane ([Alk(MIM)][Br]), where Alk = Dec, DoDec, TetDec, (decane, dodecane, tetradecane) were evaluated. The influence of an additional cationic head and the alkyl chain length in thermal parameters were also evaluated. The dicationic ILs are more stable than monocationic and thermal degradation of ILs mono- and dicationic did not show linear dependence on the alkyl chain length. Thermokinetic parameters indicated degradation in multiple steps. The monocationic ILs showed a more persistent crystalline phase than dicationic IL, which became totally amorphous after heating. The estimate temperature decomposition, activation energy and thermal transitions enable the determination of which types of ILs are applicable for specific purposes, such as lubricants or solvents at high temperatures, while maintaining ILs physical and chemical properties.

Introduction This study reports the pediatric epidemiology of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza (IF), parainfluenza (PIV), and adenovirus (ADV) at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. Methods Cases of infection, hospitalizations in intensive care units (ICUs), nosocomial infections, and lethality rates were collected from 2007 to 2010. Results RSV accounted for most nosocomial infections. Intensive care units admission rates for ADV and RSV infections were highest in 2007 and 2010. During 2008-2009, H1N1 and ADV had the highest ICU admission rates. ADV had the highest fatality rate during 2007-2009. Conclusions Each virus exhibited distinct behavior, causing hospitalization, outbreaks, or lethality.
