Resumo O método de análise espacial permite mensurar a acessibilidade espacial dos serviços de saúde para alocação dos recursos de forma eficiente e eficaz. Diante disso, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a distribuição espacial das taxas de COVID-19 e dos recursos de saúde na Amazônia Legal. Estudo ecológico realizado com casos de COVID-19 e os recursos de saúde nos 772 municípios em dois picos da pandemia. Utilizou-se o método bayesiano global e local para elaboração de mapas coropléticos, com cálculo do índice de Moran para análise da dependência espacial e utilização do Moran map para identificação dos clusters da doença. Os índices de Moran calculados para os dois períodos demonstraram autocorrelação espacial positiva dessa distribuição e dependência espacial entre os municípios nos dois períodos, sem muita diferença entre os dois estimadores. Evidenciaram-se maiores taxas da doença nos estados do Amapá, Amazonas e Roraima. Em relação aos recursos de saúde, observou-se alocação de forma ineficiente, com maior concentração nas capitais.

Abstract Spatial analysis can help measure the spatial accessibility of health services with a view to improving the allocation of health care resources. The objective of this study was to analyze the spatial distribution of COVID-19 detection rates and health care resources in Brazil’s Amazon region. We conducted an ecological study using data on COVID-19 cases and the availability of health care resources in 772 municipalities during two waves of the pandemic. Local and global Bayesian estimation were used to construct choropleth maps. Moran’s I was calculated to detect the presence of spatial dependence and Moran maps were used to identify disease clusters. In both periods, Moran’s I values indicate the presence of positive spatial autocorrelation in distributions and spatial dependence between municipalities, with only a slight difference between the two estimators. The findings also reveal that case rates were highest in the states of Amapá, Amazonas, and Roraima. The data suggest that health care resources were inefficiently allocated, with higher concentrations of ventilators and ICU beds being found in state capitals.

Abstract Background and objective During the past few years, an increased number of postpartum hemorrhages have been noticed, even in high-income countries. It has been suggested that this escalation could be associated with increased obstetric interventions. Among such interventions, anesthesia is one of the most prevalent. The present study aimed to investigate the influence of peripartum anesthesia on total blood loss during the 24 hours after delivery. Methods We performed a complementary analysis from a prospective cohort study that evaluated postpartum bleeding within 24 hours after birth. The study was performed between February 1st, 2015 and March 31st, 2016 at the Women’s Hospital at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Brazil. Postpartum bleeding was measured using a calibrated drape and summing the blood contained in the compresses and pads used for 24 hours. We calculated means, percentages, and standard deviation and performed Mann-Whitney analysis for the relation of anesthesia with Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) and logistic regression for drugs used in the anesthesia with PPH, using SAS 9.4 software. Results We included 270 women in the study; of these, 168 received anesthesia for delivery and almost 50% of them had spinal and epidural anesthesia. The mean blood loss within 24 hours after delivery did not show differences between those who did and those who did not receive obstetrical anesthesia (579.0 ± 361.6 vs. 556.6 ± 360.6; p = 0.57). Logistic regression showed that anesthesia, the type of anesthesia, and the drug used did not influence the PPH above 500 mL and above 1000 mL within 2 hours (p > 0.05). Conclusion Anesthesia did not influence postpartum bleeding after vaginal delivery.

Abstract Microalgae are considered a rich source of biostimulants for plants, as an excellent business opportunity for the agricultural sector, as they can activate plant metabolism, contributing to the improvement in physiological performance, phytomass and, subsequently, vigor and quality of seedlings. The objective of this work was to evaluate the potential of Spirulina platensis biomass, in enabling improvements in physiological performance, phytomass and, subsequently, vigor and quality of cashew rootstock seedlings. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse in a completely randomized design, in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme (concentrations x rootstock), with three replications. The concentrations used were 0%, 0.04%, 0.08%, and 0.12% and the FAGA and CCP 76 genotypes. The seeds were immersed in the solutions for 12 hours. Applications were made via the leaves at 30 days after sowing (DAS), with an interval of seven days between each application and at 90 DAS evaluations were made. The FAGA and CCP 76 genotypes showed a positive response to the supply of S. platensis, with concentrations 0.04% and 0.08% which provided greater root length, aerial part length, number of leaves, diameter and leaf area. Concentrations 0.04% and 0.08% also promoted better percentages in the physiology of the CCP 76 genotype, while the FAGA genotype showed opposite action, which may be related to the mode of action of the microalgae on the different genetic and phenotypic characteristics of each genotype. The 0.12% concentration provided greater accumulations of aerial part and total dry mass to the genotypes.

Resumo A crescente demanda de água e as modificações no uso do solo que vêm ocorrendo na bacia hidrográfica do Córrego Zerede ensejaram a realização de análises hidrológicas a fim de um melhor entendimento da dinâmica do ciclo hidrológico local, focando na relação com as florestas e suas consequências para a qualidade da água. Para isso, foi realizado o monitoramento hidrológico através de medições de precipitação, vazão e estimativa de evapotranspiração, utilizando-se um pluviômetro digital sem fio, um atmômetro modificado e pelo conjunto calha Parshall e ITS-2000. Para as análises da qualidade da água, foram coletadas amostras em 5 pontos distintos do curso d’água e analisadas quanto à cor, turbidez, pH, sólidos suspensos totais (SST), condutividade elétrica (CE), demanda química de oxigênio, demanda bioquímica de oxigênio e coliformes termotolerantes. Os resultados mostraram que a evapotranspiração apresentou maior contribuição para saída de água da bacia que o deflúvio, com exceção dos meses de novembro a janeiro (2006/2007). No balanço final, verificou-se o saldo hídrico negativo de 247,7 mm, refletindo precipitações abaixo do esperado para o período e reforçando a importância de utilizar técnicas que permitam uma maior retenção de água na bacia hidrográfica. Os parâmetros CE e SST apresentaram diferenças estatísticas entre as médias dos pontos analisados pelo teste F a 5% de probabilidade, sendo que os demais parâmetros revelaram a inexistência de diferença estatística entre as médias. As análises microbiológicas apresentaram resultados negativos, com a água livre de coliformes termotolerantes. Conclui-se que a água se encontra nos padrões da Classe 1, da Resolução no 357 do Conama (2005) nos parâmetros analisados, indicando uma boa qualidade na Bacia Hidrográfica do Córrego Zerede.

Abstract The increasing water demand and changes in the land use in the watershed of the Zerede Ceek stimulated hydrological analyses to improve the understanding of the dynamics of the local hydrological cycle, focusing on the relationship with forests and the consequences for the water quality. To this purpose, the hydrological monitoring was carried out by measurements of rainfall, flow rate and estimated evapotranspiration, using a digital wireless rain gauge, a modified atmometer, a Parshall flume set and ITS-2000. For the water quality analysis, samples were collected at five different points of the water course and analyzed for color, turbidity, pH, total suspended solids (TSS), electrical conductivity (EC), chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand and heat-tolerant coliforms. The results showed that evapotranspiration contributed more to the amount of water leaving the basin than outflow, except from November to January (2006/2007). The final fluid balance of 247.7 mm was negative, showing that rainfall was lower than expected for the period and reinforcing the importance of using techniques that allow greater water retention in the basin. The parameters EC and TSS differed statistically between the means of the points analyzed by the F test at 5% probability, unlike the other parameters. The microbiological tests were negative, with coliform-free water. It was concluded that the analyzed water parameters meet the standards of Class 1 defined by Resolution No 357 of CONAMA (2005), indicating good water quality in the Zerede Creek basin.

RESUMO Os sistemas agroflorestais (SAF) devem beneficiar todos os componentes do consórcio. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da distância entre plantas na linha de plantio sobre o crescimento e a produção do componente arbóreo e da cultura agrícola e, sobre a viabilidade econômica do consórcio. Para isso plantou-se clone de eucalipto nos arranjos de 9,5 x 1,5 m, 9,5 x 2,0 m, 9,5 x 3,0 m e 9,5 x 40 m, em consórcio com soja. O diâmetro (dap) e a altura total (Ht) da árvore e o índice de área foliar (IAF) foram medidos aos 14, 38 e 51 meses. A produção de soja foi avaliada aos 24 meses após o plantio do eucalipto. A avaliação econômica do consórcio foi realizada para um horizonte de planejamento de sete anos. A distância entre as plantas na linha de plantio não afetou a altura das árvores, no entanto, maiores distâncias promoveram maior DAP e volume individual. Valores mais altos de área basal e produção foram alcançados no arranjo de 9,5 x 1,5 m. O IAF foi menor (1,43) no arranjo 9,5 x 4,0 m, aos 38 meses, em comparação aos demais arranjos (média de IAF = 1,66). A produção de soja foi a maior (2.317 kg ha-1) no arranjo de 9,5 x 4,0 m. Na avaliação econômica, a madeira produzida nos dois povoamentos mais densos foi destinada à energia, com baixo valor de mercado, inviabilizando economicamente esses arranjos, embora o rendimento do componente arbóreo tenha sido o mais elevado no 9,5 x 1,5 m. O arranjo espacial de 9,5 x 4,0 m foi o mais viável economicamente, considerando a alocação de 40% da madeira para serraria, e os preços e custos assumidos neste estudo. Neste arranjo de plantio, o rendimento da soja foi o mais elevado e os custos de plantio foram os menores, quando comparados aos demais arranjos.

ABSTRACT Agroforestry systems (AGF) design should benefit all components of the consortium. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the distance between plants within the row on growth and yield of trees and agricultural crop and on the economic viability of the consortium. The eucalypt was planted in 9.5 x 1.5 m, 9.5 x 2.0 m, 9.5 x 3.0 m and 9.5 x 40 m arrangements, in consortium with soybean. The tree diameter (dbh) and total height (Ht), and the leaf area index (LAI) were measured at 14, 38 and 51 months. Soybean yield was evaluated 24 months after planting eucalypt. An economic evaluation of the consortium was carried out for a planning horizon of seven years. The distance between trees within the row did not affect the tree height, however, larger distances promoted a higher dbh and individual volume. Higher values of basal area and yield were achieved in the 9.5 x 1.5 m arrangement. The LAI was smaller (1.43) in the 9.5 x 4.0 m arrangement, at 38 months, compared to the other arrangements (mean LAI = 1.66). Soybean had it's highest yield (2,317 kg ha-1) in the 9.5 x 4.0 m arrangement. In the economic evaluation, the wood produced in the two denser arrangements was destined for energy, with low market value, making these two arrangements unfeasible economically, although the tree component yield was the highest in the arrangement 9.5 x 1.5 m. The 9.5 x 4.0 m spatial arrangement was the most economically viable, considering the allocation of 40% of the wood for sawing, and the prices and costs assumed in this study. In this arrangement, the soybean yield was the highest, and the planting costs were the lowest when compared to the other arrangements.
