The term non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has been well-known for the development of human rights, charity works and organisational developments. On the other hand, some NGOs also have their specialised roles to help the community such as in conflict resolution, cultural preservation, policy analysis and information provision. Apart from that, there are many categories of NGOs: Islamic-oriented non-governmental organisation (IONGOs), faith-based organisation (FBO), humanitarian NGOs (HNGOs) and government organised NGOs (GONGOs). However, in this research, the researchers focus on how IONGOs compare with NGOs in assisting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community based on four hijrah NGOs: Persatuan Islah Movement, Persatuan Insaf Pahang, Hijrah Republique Network and Usrah Iqrak. These four NGOs were chosen because of their roles in assisting the LGBT community. In this research, the researchers adapt the qualitative research by using a case study method; phenomenological approaches and a document analysis have also been applied as well. The result shows that these four IONGOs are different from the NGOs based on the seven typologies applied: intersection, distinct, substantive, subset, co-existing, atomistic grouping and constitutive. The implications of this article highlight the fact that IONGOs are different from the LGBT NGOs in Malaysia as they focus more on spirituality and an Islamic pathway. Hence, future research should include focus group interviews with all the members in NGOs that assist the LGBT hijrah in the community. CONTRIBUTION: This study contributes to LGBT hijrah community and its relationship towards the establishment of Islamic-oriented non-governmental organisation (IONGOs).

BACKGROUND: Manufacturing and service industries in many sectors face extraordinary situations, such as excessive demands and uncertain prices during the post-pandemic period. In this situation, ordinary decision-making support is no longer suitable. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to propose new mathematical programming in the form of probabilistic dynamical optimisation that can be used for optimising integrated inventory, procurement and production planning. The problem contains multiperiod, multisupplier, multiraw material and multiproduct. Furthermore, several parameters, including prices and costs were assumed to be probabilistic with some known probability distributions. METHOD: The expectation of the profit was maximised in the model and the uncertain programming algorithm was used to calculate the optimal decision. The laboratory scaled computational experiments were also conducted with some randomly generated data RESULTS: The results showed the proposed model successfully provided the optimal decision. This included the optimal amount of each observation period and raw material parts to be sold to each supplier and stored in the inventory. It also included the optimal amount of each product brand to be produced and stored with the maximal expectation of the profit earned for the whole optimisation horizon time. CONCLUSION: The proposed decision-making support can be used by the decision-makers and managers in industries. CONTRIBUTION: A novel decision-making support is provided, which can be used to solve integrated inventory, procurement and production with excess demand and random parameters.

Abstract Introduction: Rapid prototyping is a process by which three-dimensional (3D) computerized surface models are converted into physical models. In this study, a 3D heart bio model was created using the rapid prototyping method and the accuracy of this heart model was assessed by clinicians. Methods: The two-dimensional images of normal heart from gated computed tomography scan datasets were used to create a 3D model of the heart. The slices were then processed using the software BioModroid and printed with the 3D printer. The evaluation of the model was performed by a questionnaire answered by four cardiothoracic surgeons, 12 cardiologists, five radiologists, and nine surgical registrars. Results: Eighty-six percent of the anatomy structures showed in this model scored 100% accuracy. Structures such as circumflex branch of left coronary artery, great cardiac vein, papillary muscle, and coronary sinus were each rated 77%, 70%, 70%, and 57% accurate. Among 30 clinicians, a total of 93% rated the model accuracy as good and above; 64% of the clinicians evaluated this model as an excellent teaching tool for anatomy class. As a visual aid for surgery or interventional procedures, the model was rated excellent (40%), good (50%), average (23%), and poor (3%); 70% of the clinicians scored the model as above average for training purpose. Overall, this 3D rapid prototyping cardiac model was rated as excellent (33%), good (50%), and average (17%). Conclusion: This 3D rapid prototyping heart model will be a valuable source of anatomical education and cardiac interventional management.

Background: Pharmacists report to be providing patient-focused clinical services for which they receive no remuneration. Limited literature exists about unfunded services leading to difficulties in ascertaining an appropriate study design for such research. Objective: This study aims to assess the appropriateness of a proposed study design before launching a nationwide study to investigate the provision of unfunded patient care services. Methods: A multi-methods approach was utilised consisting of (1) continuous time motion study in community pharmacies (2) semi structured patient interviews (3) patient follow up (4) semi structured interviews with pharmacy owners/managers. All observations of unfunded patient care services were recorded, numerically coded and descriptively analysed. Semi structured interviews were audio recorded and transcribed verbatim. A semantic thematic analysis was carried out. Appropriateness of study design was dictated by the ability to characterise services and obtain patient perceptions. Results: Ten pharmacies took part in the feasibility study, across the city of Dunedin, New Zealand, representing a range of different practice settings and demographics. Ten patients were interviewed and six responded to follow up. Both pharmacy and patient recruitment proved challenging due to concerns around disruption to workflow and patient privacy. A continuous observation time motion study was found to be appropriate as it minimises disruption to workflow with no additional work required from the pharmacy teams. Conclusions: A continuous observation time motion study proved to be an appropriate method to investigate the provision of unfunded services on a national scale. The findings of the study suggest design changes such as length of observation time, increasing patient recruitment and additional patient questions to enhance the nationwide study.

This study aimed to analyse the contribution of the Sufi order in stemming religion-based violence as a form of the Sufis' response to rampant violence, extremism and religious radicalism. This study used a qualitative method in which the data were obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. Then they were analysed by using an interactive model. This study was carried out in three Sufi communities of the Sufi order Qadariyah wan Naqshabandiyah (TQN) in Indonesia, namely in Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School, Futuhiyyah Islamic Boarding School Mranggen and Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Jombang. The results of the study show that the three TQN orders have the concepts of dhikr and love, which are internalised in the act of Sufism. The Sufi order has the doctrines of love of God, mutual love, discourse of moderation and tolerance towards religion and other groups as the main instruments in the fight against religious radicalism. The resistance of the Sufis to religious radicalism shows that the Sufi order is cornered from attacks by formalist groups in religion. This fact reopens the historical archive of contradictions between the two major currents of Islamic thought and movement, Salafi versus Sufi. The counter-radicalism narrated by the Sufis of the three TQN communities represents their defensive attitude towards the aggressiveness of the textual and radical Salafis.CONTRIBUTION: This article contributes to prevent and reduce the rise of religious radicalism in Indonesia. The doctrines of tanbih, mahabbah, tolerance and moderatism developed by the Sufis in the three TQN communities became a source of reference and inspiration for resistance to violence and religious radicalism

Abstract: In this study, pineapple leaf fiber and polyethylene terephthalate electrospun nanofibers were produced via electrospinning process. Six ratios of pineapple leaf fiber/polyethylene terephthalate, namely 1/10; 1/7,5; 1/5; 1/1 and 1,3/1 were prepared and their wetting, structural and thermal properties were characterised. Wetting properties of this sample were studied using contact angle measurement. X-Ray Diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis were conducted to get better understanding on the structural and its thermal properties, respectively. The results revealed that increasing the pineapple leaf fiber content simultaneously increased the ability of nanofibers to adsorb water as shown by lower contact angle degree with 81,6° and adsorption time of 15 seconds. An increase in pineapple leaf fiber ratio did not change the peak position in X-Ray Diffraction and no new peaks observed for any sample. However, the peak at 23° for samples with ratio 1/1 and ratio 1,3/1 exhibited higher intensity compared to that of pure polyethylene terephthalate. Thermal properties obtained from thermogravimetric analysis results suggested that thermal properties were not influenced by the pineapple leaf fiber ratio. Overall, pineapple leaf fiber/polyethylene terephthalate electrospun nanofibers produced at the ratio of 1/1 displayed the optimum performance.

RESUMEN Este trabajo presenta un estudio para mejorar la distorsión armónica total (THD) originada por el uso excesivo del equipo de potencia electrónica (PE) y cargas no lineales. Se usa un filtro activo de potencia en derivación (SAPF) para mitigar los armónicos del sistema porque este tiene la capacidad de minimizar los problemas de armónicos iniciado por cargas no lineales. La teoría p-q de potencia reactiva instantánea (IRP) se utiliza para la generación de la señal de referencia y la extracción de componentes compensadores de la corriente. La proporcional integral (PI) y el controlador de red neuronal artificial (ANN) se emplearon en el controlador DC-link y para ajustes de errores de corriente. En este artículo, tanto la histéresis convencional como el controlador de corriente de banda de histéresis adaptativa (HBCC) han sido utilizados para la generación de pulsos de compuerta para el SAPF, lo que reduce la THD en la fuente de corriente a un valor dentro de las normas IEEE establecidas, sin ningún tipo de error sobre la amplia gama de la estrategia adaptativa de HBCC. Los resultados de la simulación confirman que el SAPF con HBCC y ANN realiza una eficiente mitigación de armónicos y mantiene un factor de potencia (PF) cercano a la unidad.

ABSTRACT This paper demonstrates a study to improve the total harmonic distortion (THD) originated due to excessive use of power electronic (PE) equipment and non-linear loads. Shunt active power filter (SAPF) is used to mitigate the harmonics from the system because it has the capability of minimizing the harmonic problems initiated by non-linear loads. The instantaneous reactive power (IRP) p-q theory is used for the generation of reference signal and for the extraction of compensating components of the current. The proportional integral (PI) controller and artificial neural network (ANN) have been employed in the DC-link controller and for current errors adjustments. In this paper, both conventional hysteresis and adaptive hysteresis band current controller (HBCC) have been used for the generation of gate pulses for the SAPF, which reduces THD in the source current to a value within IEEE specified standards, without any phase error over the extensive range of adaptive HBCC strategy. Simulation results confirm that the SAPF with HBCC and ANN performs the harmonic mitigation efficiently and maintains power factor (PF) close to unity.

Abstract Medicinal plants play a vital role in the human health care system of tribal communities and in the treatment of various gynecological problems. This study is an effort to document important medicinal flora used for the treatment of gynecological problems by indigenous people living in a tribal region near the Pak-Afghan border. The main objective of the study was to establish a clear profile of indigenous knowledge and practices from the unexplored tribal territory. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and group discussions. The data were analyzed through Use Value and Factor of Informant Consensus. A total of 52 medicinal plants were recorded from the area; the most widely accepted were Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal (94 Use Value), Foeniculum vulgare Mill. (93 Use Value), Prunus domestica L. (91 Use Value), Myrtus communis L. (91 Use Value), Cannabis sativa L. (91 Use Value) and Nigella sativa L. (90 Use Value). A high consensus factor was recorded for menses-related problems (0.95). The root was the main part used (23% plants), followed by the leaves (20% plants), whole plant (18% plants), fruit (18% plants), and seed (13% plants). A total of 21 plants were used to treat menses-related problems, followed by sexual problems (ten plants), leucorrhea (nine plants), gastric problems (seven plants) and amenorrhea (seven plants). Knowledge related to ethnogynecological treatments is restricted to midwives and traditional healers. In conclusion, the documented flora that is particularly important to medicinal plants may be researched in the future to discover new pharmaceutical, neutraceutical and other pharmacological agents against gynecological complaints.

Abstract Split-hand/split-foot malformation (SHFM), also known as ectrodactyly is a rare genetic disorder. It is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of limb malformations characterized by absence/hypoplasia and/or median cleft of hands and/or feet. To date, seven genes underlying SHFM have been identified. This study described four consanguineous families (A-D) segregating SHFM in an autosomal recessive manner. Linkage in the families was established to chromosome 12p11.1–q13.13 harboring WNT10B gene. Sequence analysis identified a novel homozygous nonsense variant (p.Gln154*) in exon 4 of the WNT10B gene in two families (A and B). In the other two families (C and D), a previously reported variant (c.300_306dupAGGGCGG; p.Leu103Argfs*53) was detected. This study further expands the spectrum of the sequence variants reported in the WNT10B gene, which result in the split hand/foot malformation.

This study examines the impact of total quality management (TQM) practices on an organisation's innovation performance. Correlation coefficient and regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between TQM practices and innovation performance. This study's sample is drawn from the manufacturing organisations located in the district of Rawang in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The empirical results of this study confirm that TQM has a positive impact on innovation performance across five measured practices: customer focus, leadership, process management, strategic planning, and people management. Furthermore, the three most influential TQM practices are identfied as people management, process management, and customer focus. Managers in the manufacturing sector can find this study useful, especially if they are aiming to improve their organisation's innovation performance with the help of quality management practices.

Die impak van algehele gehaltebeheer op 'n organisasie se innovasievertoning word ondersoek. Die steekproef is uit vervaardigingsorganisasies in die Rawang streek van Selangor, Maleisië geneem. Die empiriese resultate dui daarop dat algehele gehaltebeheer 'n positiewe invloed op die innovasievertoning van vyf gemete praktyke het, naamlik kliëntefokus, leierskap, prosesbeheer, strategiese beplanning en menslikehulpbronbestuur. Verder word menslikehulpbronbestuur, prosesbeheer en kliëntefokus as die drie invloedrykste algehele gehaltebeheer praktyke identifiseer. Bestuurders in die vervaardigingsektor mag hierdie resultaat nuttig vind, veral as hulle mik om hul organisasie se innovasievertoning te verbeter met die hulp van gehaltebeheer praktyke.

Background: Broccoli, Brassica oleracea subsp. italica is one of the many valuable Brassica species which is still less cultured under in vitro condition. Heat tolerant transgenic and non-transgenic broccoli cv. Green Marvel plantlets with well-developed root system obtained through in vitro culture were transferred into disposable plastic pots containing sterilized potting mixture consisting of (peatgroTM) + coconut dust (2:1) and maintained in a growth chamber. Results: After one month, the hardened plantlets were transferred and maintained in a transgenic greenhouse. After four months of acclimatization in the transgenic greenhouse, the efficacy of HSP101 gene in increasing the heat tolerance of the transgenic broccoli was evaluated. Results showed that the transgenic plants could survive and performed normally, producing flower heads even at the highest tested temperature of 34ºC. Seven transgenic broccoli lines with different gene copy number of the AtHSP101 gene as well as the control plant were assessed for genetic diversity using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. Conclusions: ISSR results showed polymorphism and phylogenetic relationship between the transgenic and non-transgenic (control) Brassica oleracea cv. Green Marvel.

Clinical practice in our country showed a lack of suitable implants that perfectly match the anthropometry of the local population. However, there have been no reports or comprehensive studies conducted to substantiate this argument. We therefore prospectively studied 120 hips from sixty subjects with an average age of 25±5.18 years old. The average weight and height were 61.48±13.84 kg and 1.65±9.63 m respectively. The exclusion criteria were pregnant woman, those who had injury to the hip joint, and those with implant or prosthesis. Four parameters were measured the femoral head diameter (FHD), femoral neck length (FNL), femoral neck width (FNW) and collo-diaphyseal angle (CDA). Statistical analysis showed no significant differences between left and right femora but significant differences were found between male and female subjects. The results for the male and female femurs are as follows FHD: 43.6±3.1 mm and 38.9±2.2 mm; FNL: 91.1±5.7 mm and 81.8±4.3 mm; FNW: 28.9±3.4 mm and 26.0±4.3 mm; CDA: 132.3°±3.4° and 129.9°±4.0°. This data could be used as a guideline to design a more suitable implant for the Malay population which covers most of the South East Asian countries.

Problemas con respecto al tamaño de los implantes en relación a cada población se han convertido en una cuestión esencial para la sociedad ortopédica. Varios factores han sido identificados en la literatura, los que pueden afectar la estabilidad del implante, especialmente en el fémur proximal. Se estudió prospectivamente 120 caderas mediante imágenes de tomografía computarizada. Sesenta sujetos fueron reclutados, edad media 25±5,18 años, peso de 61,48±13,84 kg y altura de 1,65±9,63m. Los criterios de exclusión para este estudio incluyeron a mujeres embarazadas, quienes hubiesen experimentado lesiones cadera, uso de implantes o prótesis. Nuestros datos se compararon usando las pruebas de Anderson-Darling y t-test. Los parámetros medidos fueron diámetro de la cabeza femoral (FHD), longitud del cuello femoral (FNL), ancho del cuello femoral (FNW) y el ángulo cuello-diafisial (CDA). Los resultados de los fémures masculinos y femeninos fueron los siguientes: FHD 43,6 ± 3,1 mm y 38,9 ± 2,2 mm, FNL 91,1 ± 5,7 mm y 81,8 ± 4,3 mm, FNW 28,9 ± 3,4 mm y 26,0 ± 4,3 mm; CDA 132.3 ± 3.4 y 129.9 ± 4,. Este estudio prospectivo y transversal centrado en la población malaya, proporcionó información esencial sobre el valor normal de la porción proximal del fémur, datos que mejorarán el conocimiento de los aspectos anatómicos y, finalmente, ayuden al diseño del vástago femoral en la artroplastía total de cadera (ATC). Los resultados proporcionarán una nueva comprensión por parte del cirujano ortopédico.

Advances in all-ceramic systems have established predictable means of providing metal-free aesthetic and biocompatible materials. These materials must have sufficient strength to be a practical treatment alternative for the fabrication of crowns and fixed partial dentures. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to compare the biaxial flexural strength of three core ceramic materials. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Three groups of 10 disc-shaped specimens (16 mm diameter x 1.2 mm thickness - in accordance with ISO-6872, 1995) were made from the following ceramic materials: Turkom-Cera Fused Alumina [(Turkom-Ceramic (M) Sdn Bhd, Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia)], In-Ceram (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) and Vitadur-N (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany), which were sintered according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The specimens were subjected to biaxial flexural strength test in an universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. The definitive fracture load was recorded for each specimen and the biaxial flexural strength was calculated from an equation in accordance with ISO-6872. RESULTS: The mean biaxial flexural strength values were: Turkom-Cera: 506.8±87.01 MPa, In-Ceram: 347.4±28.83 MPa and Vitadur-N: 128.7±12.72 MPa. The results were analyzed by the Levene's test and Dunnett's T3 post-hoc test (SPSS software V11.5.0 for Windows, SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA ) at a preset significance level of 5% because of unequal group variances (P<0.001). There was statistically significant difference between the three core ceramics (P<0.05). Turkom-Cera showed the highest biaxial flexural strength, followed by In-Ceram and Vitadur-N. CONCLUSIONS: Turkom-Cera core had significantly higher flexural strength than In-Ceram and Vitadur-N ceramic core materials.

Anatomical variations of the arterial patterns in the upper limb have been describe in many anatomical studies, but the occurrence of four variations in a ipsilateral upper limb is rare. These arterial variations were observed in the right upper limb of a 65 -year old Caucasian male cadaver during routine dissection in the anatomy department, College of Medicine at the King Saud University, Riyadh. These arterial variations include: 1) a large common trunk of the axillary artery giving origin to subscapular artery, profunda brachii artery, common circumflex humoral artery and superior ulnar collateral artery, 2) superficial brachial artery; 3) superficial brachioulnar artery, and 4) the radialis indicis branch from superficial palmar arch. Appreciation of variations in the upper limb vessels is important due to increasing number of procedures both diagnostic and therapeutic as in breast cancer surgery, flap harvesting and arteriogaphy.

En numerosos estudios se han descrito las variaciones anatómicas de los patrones arteriales en el miembro superior, sin embargo, la aparición de cuatro variantes ipsilaterales en un miembro superior es poco frecuente. Estas variaciones arteriales fueron observadas en el miembro superior derecho de un cadáver caucásico masculino de 65 años de edad, durante la disección de rutina en el Departamento de Anatomía de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de King Saud, en Riad. Estas variaciones arteriales incluyen: 1) un gran tronco común de la arteria axilar dando origen a las arterias subescapular, braquial profunda, braquial común y colateral ulnar superior; 2) la arteria braquial superficial; 3) la arteria braquioulnar superficial y 4) la rama radial del índice desde el arco palmar superficial. La observación de variaciones en los vasos del miembro superior es importante debido al número cada vez mayor de procedimientos diagnósticos y terapéuticos, como en la cirugía del cáncer de mama, la recolección de colgajos y arteriografías.

Laboratories and laboratory networks are a fundamental component of tuberculosis (TB) control, providing testing for diagnosis, surveillance and treatment monitoring at every level of the health-care system. New initiatives and resources to strengthen laboratory capacity and implement rapid and new diagnostic tests for TB will require recognition that laboratories are systems that require quality standards, appropriate human resources, and attention to safety in addition to supplies and equipment. To prepare the laboratory networks for new diagnostics and expanded capacity, we need to focus efforts on strengthening quality management systems (QMS) through additional resources for external quality assessment programmes for microscopy, culture, drug susceptibility testing (DST) and molecular diagnostics. QMS should also promote development of accreditation programmes to ensure adherence to standards to improve both the quality and credibility of the laboratory system within TB programmes. Corresponding attention must be given to addressing human resources at every level of the laboratory, with special consideration being given to new programmes for laboratory management and leadership skills. Strengthening laboratory networks will also involve setting up partnerships between TB programmes and those seeking to control other diseases in order to pool resources and to promote advocacy for quality standards, to develop strategies to integrate laboratories’ functions and to extend control programme activities to the private sector. Improving the laboratory system will assure that increased resources, in the form of supplies, equipment and facilities, will be invested in networks that are capable of providing effective testing to meet the goals of the Global Plan to Stop TB.

Los laboratorios y las redes de laboratorios son un componente fundamental de la lucha antituberculosa, pues realizan las pruebas de diagnóstico, vigilancia y monitoreo del tratamiento en todos los niveles del sistema asistencial. Los nuevos recursos e iniciativas requeridos para fortalecer la capacidad de laboratorio e implementar nuevas pruebas diagnósticas rápidas para la tuberculosis sólo serán posibles si se admite que los laboratorios son sistemas que requieren normas de calidad, recursos humanos apropiados y atención a los aspectos de la seguridad, además de suministros y equipo. A fin de preparar las redes de laboratorio para albergar nuevos medios de diagnóstico y una mayor capacidad, debemos centrar los esfuerzos en fortalecar los sistemas de gestión de la calidad invirtiendo más recursos en los programas de evaluación externa de la calidad de la microscopía, los cultivos, las pruebas de sensibilidad a fármacos y los medios de diagnóstico molecular. Los sistemas de gestión de la calidad deberían promover también el desarrollo de programas de acreditación para garantizar el cumplimiento de las normas destinadas a mejorar tanto la calidad como la credibilidad de los sistemas de laboratorio en los programas antituberculosos. Paralelamente hay que prestar atención asimismo a los recursos humanos en todos los niveles del laboratorio, considerando especialmente los nuevos programas respecto de la gestión de laboratorio y las aptitudes de liderazgo. El fortalecimiento de las redes de laboratorio exigirá también la creación de alianzas entre los programas antituberculosos y los que intentan controlar otras enfermedades a fin de mancomunar los recursos y de promover la adopción de normas de calidad, formular estrategias para integrar las funciones de los laboratorios y extender las actividades de los programas de control al sector privado. Mejorando los sistemas de laboratorio se logrará que se inviertan más recursos, en forma de suministros, equipo e instalaciones, en redes capaces de realizar pruebas eficaces con miras a alcanzar las metas del Plan Mundial para Detener la Tuberculosis.

Les laboratoires et les réseaux de laboratoire constituent une composante fondamentale de la lutte contre la tuberculose (TB), dans la mesure où ils assurent les tests diagnostiques, la surveillance et le suivi des traitements à tous les niveaux du système de soins de santé. Les initiatives et les moyens nouveaux destinés à renforcer la capacité des laboratoires et à mettre en place des tests diagnostiques innovants et rapides pour détecter la TB devront tenir compte de la nécessité, pour ces établissements, de disposer de normes de qualité et de ressources humaines appropriées, et aussi accorder une grande attention, non seulement aux fournitures et aux équipements, mais également à la sécurité. Pour préparer les réseaux de laboratoires à l’introduction de nouveaux outils diagnostiques et à une augmentation de leur capacité, il faut axer nos efforts sur le renforcement des systèmes de gestion de la qualité (SGQ) à travers l’apport de moyens supplémentaires aux programmes externes chargés d’évaluer la qualité des examens microscopiques, des cultures d’échantillons, des tests de pharmacosensibilité (DST) et des outils de diagnostic moléculaire. Les SGQ doivent aussi promouvoir le développement de programmes d’agrément, visant à garantir le respect des normes et à améliorer la qualité du travail et la crédibilité des réseaux de laboratoires participant aux programmes de lutte antituberculeuse. Il faut aussi veiller à prendre dûment en compte les ressources humaines à tous les niveaux des laboratoires et accorder une attention particulière aux nouveaux programmes destinés à améliorer l’administration des laboratoires et les compétences en matière d’encadrement. Le renforcement des réseaux de laboratoires supposera aussi de mettre en place des partenariats entre les programmes de lutte antituberculeuse et avec les entités s’efforçant d’endiguer d’autres maladies, afin de mettre en commun certaines ressources et de promouvoir l’application des normes de qualité, de développer des stratégies pour intégrer les fonctions des laboratoires et pour étendre les activités des programmes de lutte anti-TB au secteur privé. L’amélioration des réseaux de laboratoires permettra de garantir que les ressources supplémentaires fournies, sous forme de fournitures, de matériel ou d’installations, seront investies dans des réseaux en mesure d’effectuer des tests efficaces contribuant à la réalisation des objectifs du Plan mondial halte à la tuberculose.
