Resumo Objetivo Construir uma lista de sintagmas nominais capaz de caracterizar desempenhos segundo o ano escolar. Método Uma lista de 25 sintagmas nominais foi elaborada para ditado, aplicada a 275 estudantes típicos, do 2o ao 5o ano do Ensino Fundamental I. A unidimensionalidade subjacente aos itens propostos foi analisada por meio da Teoria de Resposta ao Item. Resultados A lista diferenciou o desempenho dos dois anos iniciais do apresentado pelos finais. Em geral, seus itens mostraram grau moderado de dificuldade e médio poder de discriminação. Conclusão As análises mostraram ajuste ao modelo proposto e diferenciaram desempenhos quando os anos escolares foram agrupados. A lista avaliou com mais precisão crianças de 4º e 5º anos.

Abstract Purpose Prepare a list of noun phrases able to characterize the writing performance of schoolchildren according to school year. Methods A list of 25 noun phrases intended for dictation was prepared and applied to 275 Elementary School students (2nd to 5thgrades). The unidimensionality underlying the proposed items was analyzed using Item Response Theory. Results The list enabled differentiation between the performance of schoolchildren attending the 2nd and 3rd years and that of students attending the 4 th and 5th years. Items on the list presented moderate difficulty level and medium discrimination capacity. Conclusion The model showed good fit and was able to differentiate the performance of 2nd to 3rd grade students from that of 4th to 5thgrade students. The list of noun phrases assessed writing in 4th to 5th grade students more accurately.

Objetivo O estudo investigou características do processamento da informação fonológica, manifestadas na escrita sob ditado de sintagmas, capazes de indicar possíveis correlações e algum impacto preditor entre os erros ortográficos analisados (codificação de fonemas surdos e sonoros, segmentação indevida, juntura vocabular), segundo a rede de ensino. Métodos Foram selecionados 80 escolares, meninos e meninas, na faixa etária entre 6 e 11 anos, regularmente matriculados do 2º ao 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental, em escolas da rede pública estadual e particular, do município de São Paulo. Os participantes escreveram, sob ditado, 34 sintagmas nominais, formados por palavras de alta frequência. Resultados Os três tipos de erros correlacionaram-se segundo padrões diferentes, em cada rede de ensino. Na rede pública, os erros de codificação surda sonora e segmentações indevidas correlacionaram-se positivamente. Características de percepção direcionada ao pé métrico e à sílaba, podem ter influenciado o desempenho dos escolares. Na rede particular, a percepção da palavra fonológica, da frase fonológica e da frase entonacional pode ter influenciado as correlações entre os erros do tipo surdo sonoro e as junturas. Conclusão Os erros de codificação surdos sonoros, juntura vocabular e separação indevida diferenciaram-se nas redes de ensino, quanto ao desempenho em escrita. Apenas na rede particular os erros de codificação surdos sonoros puderam predizer os de juntura vocabular e segmentação indevida.

Purpose The present study investigated the characteristics of phonological information processing as manifested in the writing of dictated syntagmas, capable of indicating possible correlations and the predictive impact between the analyzed orthography errors (coding of voiced and voiceless phonemes, undue segmentation and word junction) according to the school system. Methods Eighty children from both genders, aged between 6 and 11 years, were selected from those regularly enrolled between the 2nd and 5th years of primary education, in both public and private schools in the municipality of São Paulo. The participants wrote, as dictated to them, 34 noun syntagmas composed of high frequency words. Results The three types of error were correlated with one another according to different patterns in each school system. In the public schools, voice-voiceless coding errors and undue segmentations were positively correlated. Perception characteristics directed to the metric foot and the syllable might have influenced the children’s performance. As for the results in private schools, the perception of the phonological word, phonological phrase and intonational phrase might have influenced the correlations between errors of the voiced-voiceless type and junctions. Conclusion Voiced-voiceless coding errors, word junction and undue separation manifested differently between private and public schools, regarding writing performance. Only in private schools could the voiced-voiceless coding errors predict those of word junction and hypersegmentation.

Estudo de coorte contemporânea com corte transversal. Há evidências da influência da percepção auditiva sobre o desenvolvimento da linguagem oral e escrita e da autopercepção das condições vocais. A maturação do sistema auditivo pode interferir nesse processo. OBJETIVO: Caracterizar habilidades auditivas de Localização e de Ordenação Temporal em crianças disfônicas. MATERIAL E MÉTODO: Avaliaram-se 42 crianças (4 a 8 anos). Grupo Pesquisa: 31 crianças disfônicas, Grupo de Comparação: 11 crianças sem queixas de alterações vocais. Todas apresentaram limiares auditivos normais e reflexo cócleo-palpebral. Foram submetidas à Avaliação Simplificada do Processamento Auditivo (Pereira, 1993). Para comparar os grupos utilizaram-se os testes estatísticos de Mann-Whitney e Kruskal-Wallis. Nível de significância: 0,05 (5%). RESULTADOS: À Avaliação Simplificada, 100% do Grupo Controle e 61,29% do Grupo Pesquisa apresentaram resultados normais. Nas provas de Localização e Memória Sequencial Verbal, os grupos mostraram-se semelhantes. A Memória Sequencial Não Verbal mostrou piores resultados nas crianças disfônicas. Nesse grupo, o desempenho foi pior dos quatro aos seis anos. CONCLUSÃO: As crianças disfônicas apresentaram alterações das habilidades de localização ou ordenação temporal, a habilidade de ordenação temporal de sons não verbais diferenciou o grupo disfônico. Nesse grupo, a Localização Sonora melhorou com a idade.

Contemporary cross-sectional cohort study. There is evidence of the auditory perception influence on the development of oral and written language, as well as on the self-perception of vocal conditions. The auditory system maturation can impact on this process. OBJECTIVE: To characterize the auditory skills of temporal ordering and localization in dysphonic children. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We assessed 42 children (4 to 8 years). Study group: 31 dysphonic children; Comparison group: 11 children without vocal change complaints. They all had normal auditory thresholds and also normal cochleo-eyelid reflexes. They were submitted to a Simplified assessment of the auditory process (Pereira, 1993). In order to compare the groups, we used the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis statistical tests. Level of significance: 0.05 (5%). RESULTS: Upon simplified assessment, 100% of the Control Group and 61.29% of the Study Group had normal results. The groups were similar in the localization and verbal sequential memory tests. The nonverbal sequential memory showed worse results on dysphonic children. In this group, the performance was worse among the four to six years. CONCLUSION: The dysphonic children showed changes on the localization or temporal ordering skills, the skill of non-verbal temporal ordering differentiated the dysphonic group. In this group, the Sound Location improved with age.

OBJETIVO: Caracterizar a fala de crianças disfônicas, quanto à ocorrência de ensurdecimentos de fonemas plosivos. MÉTODOS: Foram gravadas as repetições de frases de 50 crianças (idades entre quatro e oito anos), sendo 40 crianças disfônicas e dez, sem alterações vocais. Eram seis frases com os fonemas plosivos sonoros em sílaba tônica inicial, medial e final de palavras. Com as produções gravadas realizaram-se análise espectrográfica, pela identificação da barra de sonoridade e perceptivo-auditiva, por meio de uma banca de três fonoaudiólogas. RESULTADOS: O ensurdecimento ocorreu de forma assistemática na produção dos fonemas sonoros, foi mais identificado à análise espectrográfica e variou conforme o fonema e a posição deste na palavra. CONCLUSÕES: Houve ensurdecimentos assistemáticos na fala das crianças disfônicas e sem alterações vocais, com menor freqüência na posição tônica da sílaba medial.

PURPOSE: To characterize the occurrence of plosive sounds' devoicing in the speech of dysphonic children. METHODS: Fifty children with ages between four and eight years old (40 dysphonic and ten without any vocal disorders) were recorded repeating six sentences containing plosive phonemes in initial, medial and final tonic positions. Both spectrographic and auditory-perceptual analyses were carried out. RESULTS: Devoicing of plosive phonemes occurred unsystematically. It was more identified in the spectrographic analysis, and varied according to the phoneme and its position in the word. CONCLUSION: The speech of both dysphonic children and children without vocal disorders presented unsystematic substitution of voiced by voiceless plosive phonemes. The substitutions were less frequent when the phoneme occurred in medial tonic position.
