Abstract In this essay, I intend to build some educational reflections inserted in a world in transformation, in this historical moment that is being called "post-pandemic". Inspired by the mythical figure of the character of the Miguel de Cervantes’ book, I seek to understand, based in contemporary studies of the cognition, how Don Quixote creates a possible and real world for him from his interaction with the literary books of chivalry to, so, expanding this discussion, seek possible educational alternatives for this "post-pandemic" world. Thus, I intend, at the same time, to analyze the process of construction of the world of Don Quixote and to propose reflections on what could become a quixotic education.

Resumo Neste ensaio, pretendo construir algumas reflexões educacionais diante de um mundo em transformação, em um momento histórico que está sendo denominado de “pós-pandemia”. Partindo da figura mítica do personagem do livro de Miguel de Cervantes, busco entender, com base em estudos contemporâneos da cognição, como Dom Quixote cria um mundo possível e real para ele a partir da interação com os livros literários de cavalaria para, então, ampliando essa discussão, buscarmos alternativas educacionais possíveis para esse mundo “pós-pandemia”. Assim, pretendo, ao mesmo tempo, analisar o processo de construção de mundo de Dom Quixote e propor reflexões sobre o que poderia vir a ser uma educação quixotesca.

Resumo: O artigo problematiza o currículo como espaço de poder e de produção de subjetividades comprometido com diferentes projetos de formação básica, partindo do processo de institucionalização do ensino de Espanhol na rede municipal de Niterói/RJ - situado no cerne de conflitos discursivos. Para tal, articula-se a visão discursiva de linguagem à perspectiva cartográfica, com vistas a mapear o processo de significação do ensino de uma língua estrangeira em meio a políticas linguísticas e cognitivas. As análises dedicam-se ao referencial curricular, ao livro didático e à avaliação e evidenciam um embate entre visões de (ensino de) língua, das estruturais às utilitaristas, voltadas à formação para o mercado.

Abstract: The paper problematizes the curriculum as a space of power and production of subjectivities committed to different basic education projects, starting from the process of institutionalizing the teaching of Spanish in municipal schools of Niterói/RJ - understanding it as a result of discursive conflicts. To this end, the discursive view of language is articulated with the cartographic perspective, in order to map the process of signifying the teaching of a foreign language amidst linguistic and cognitive policies. The analyzes are dedicated to the curricular framework, the textbook and the evaluation and show a clash between visions of (teaching of) language, from structural to utilitarian, aimed at training for the market.

Este artigo reúne pressupostos teóricos da Linguística Cognitiva e da Psicolinguística, em especial os estudos em metacognição, a fim de discutir problemas relacionados à leitura nas aulas de língua materna e estrangeira, principalmente no que tange à validação das questões de interpretação de textos. Para tanto, analisamos questões presentes em materiais didáticos de língua materna e estrangeira, a fim de sugerir formas de trabalhar a interpretação de textos, a partir da visão de que a cognição humana opera em basicamente dois planos de percepção/conceptualização. Conscientes da necessidade de abordar em várias frentes o problema da má qualidade de leitura do aluno brasileiro, apresentamos nossa proposta como parte de um projeto de pesquisa maior, que inclui o que o aluno pode aprender acerca do funcionamento de sua própria mente, e como pode utilizá-la satisfatoriamente para realizar as atividades de leitura que lhe são solicitadas, na escola e fora dela.

This paper assembles theoretical assumptions on Cognitive Linguistics and Psycholinguistics, especially those related to studies on Metacognition, in order to discuss problems on reading in native and foreign languages, mainly reading comprehension activities. We analyze activities of native and foreign language textbooks, in order to suggest interesting and relevant ways to work with reading comprehension, considering that human cognition basically operates in two levels of perception/conceptualization. Due to the need to address the problem of low quality of reading in Brazilian school in several ways, we present our proposal as a part of a greater research project, which includes how students can learn about their mind's work and how they can use it to accomplish reading activities in school and beyond.
