RESUMO O objetivo do estudo é investigar como o desempenho do saque do voleibol de sujeitos com diferentes níveis de experiência é influenciado pela interação de diferentes restrições. Participaram do estudo 36 voluntários do sexo masculino (16,44 ± 0,50 anos) alocados em dois grupos em função do nível de experiência. Os participantes executaram 10 tentativas do saque do voleibol em cada uma das quatro condições experimentais. Foram manipuladas uma restrição relacionada à dificuldade da meta e outra relacionada ao ambiente físico para execução da tarefa. O desempenho do saque por cima do voleibol foi avaliado por meio de uma lista de checagem do padrão de movimento e da precisão ao alvo. Os resultados demonstraram que o grupo experiente manteve o desempenho em todas as condições, enquanto o grupo inexperiente apresentou menor consistência da precisão nas condições com restrição física e pior escore do padrão de movimento na condição de maior dificuldade da meta em interação com a restrição física. O nível de experiência exerceu maior influência no desempenho do que as demais restrições. Uma possível explicação é que ela é uma restrição capaz de maximizar a forma como o sujeito explora as informações disponibilizadas pelas demais restrições.

ABSTRACT The aim of the study is to investigate how the volleyball service performance of subjects with different levels of experience is influenced by the interaction of different constraints. The study included 36 male volunteers (16.44 ± 0.50 years) allocated into two groups according to the level of experience. Participants performed 10 attempts of the serve volleyball in each of the four experimental conditions. One constraint related to the difficulty of the goal and another related to the physical environment for the execution of the task were manipulated. The performance of the overhand volleyball serve was assessed by means of a movement pattern checklist and of the accuracy to target. The experienced group maintained performance in all conditions, while the inexperienced group showed less consistency of accuracy in conditions with physical constraint and worse score of the movement pattern in the condition of greater difficulty of the goal in interaction with physical constraint. The level of experience had a greater influence on performance than the other constraints. One possible explanation is that it is a constraint capable of maximizing the way that the subject explores the information available by the other constraints

RESUMO A área de Comportamento Motor (CoM) investiga os processos neuropsicológicos da organização da resposta motora em termos de aprendizagem, controle e desenvolvimento motor, de onde emergiram. Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever a produção intelectual da área de Comportamento Motor (CoM), e as especificidades das suas subáreas de investigação denominadas Aprendizagem Motora (AM), Controle Motor (CM) e Desenvolvimento Motor (DM) produzidos pelos programas de Pós-graduação em Educação Física no ano de 2018. A produção intelectual nas subáreas do CoM foi organizada, por estrato, tipo de tarefa e aderência com os periódicos da área 21 da CAPES. Foram encontrados 53 artigos publicados por 51 pesquisadores. A distribuição dos artigos por subáreas foi representada por 30,18% AM, 54,72% CM e 15,10% DM. A subárea CM apresentou 86% de publicação dos artigos nos estratos superiores, a subárea AM com 37%, seguida da subárea DM com 13%. A média das três subáreas resultou em 83,02% de estudos com tarefa simples construída em laboratório e somente 16,98% com tarefa complexa. O maior número de publicações com baixa aderência aliado ao maior número de pesquisas com tarefas simples parece demonstrar a dificuldade dos pesquisadores de aproximar os conhecimentos produzidos na área de CoM com a formação de um corpo de conhecimento específico da Educação Física.

ABSTRACT Motor Behavior (MB) is the study of neuropsychological processes with regard to the motor response organization in terms of learning, control, and motor development. Three research sub-areas emerged from MB, that is, Motor Learning (ML), Motor Control (MC), and Motor Development (MD). The present study aimed at describing the intellectual production related to ML, MC and MD sub-areas in 2018, in addition to identifying the current profile of the MB area. The intellectual production of the MB sub-areas was organized according to stratum, type of task, and adherence to the journals of area 21 (CAPES). Fifty three articles on MB, published by 51 researchers, were found. All these studies were produced by the Graduate Programs of Physical Education in 2018. The distribution of the articles in sub-areas was represented as follows: 30.18% ML, 54.72% MC, and 15.10% MD. The MC sub-area had 86% of its articles published in the upper strata; the ML sub-area had 37%, followed by the MD sub-area with 13%. The average of the three sub-areas resulted in 83.02% of studies with simple tasks and only 16.98% with complex tasks. The greater number of publications with low adherence combined with the greater number of investigations with simple tasks seems to show the researchers' difficulty in approaching the knowledge produced in the MB area for undergraduate Physical Education students.

Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar as diferenças no desempenho entre as condições de foco de atenção externo e interno e uma condição de demonstração online. Adicionalmente, se essas diferenças seriam observadas em um nível neuromuscular por meio da análise EMG, além das medidas de resultados tradicionais. Foi levantada a hipótese que sob a condição de demonstração os participantes teriam um desempenho melhor do que sob as condições de foco externo e interno. Também foi levantado a hipótese que a condição de demonstração apresentaria menor atividade EMG do que as condições de foco externo e interno. Além disso, esperava-se corrobora os benefícios do foco externo em relação ao foco interno, tanto nas medidas de resultado quanto de produto. Seis participantes do sexo masculino realizaram uma extensão de perna bilateral nas condições: foco de atenção interno, foco de atenção externo e condições de demonstração online. Os tempos de meta de contrações musculares foram definidos para ação muscular concêntrica (4 segundos) e ação muscular excêntrica (2 segundos). Um eletrogoniômetro foi usado para registrar a ativação muscular (medidas de produção) e o erro temporal foi usado para observar o desempenho (medidas de resultado). Os resultados mostraram que a condição de demonstração online obteve melhor desempenho do que a condição de foco externo e uma ativação muscular reduzida. No entanto, não foram encontradas diferenças entre o foco interno e as outras condições experimentais. Esses achados avançam no entendimento dos mecanismos que sustentam o foco de atenção, como o proposto pela Constrained Action Hypothesis.

Abstract The purpose of the present study was to examine whether there would be performance differences between external and internal focus of attention conditions and an online demonstration condition, and if these differences would be observed at a neuromuscular level through EMG analysis, in addition to traditional outcome measures. We hypothesized that under the demonstration condition participants would perform better than under external and internal focus conditions. We also hypothesized that demonstration condition would show smaller EMG activity than external and internal focus conditions. Furthermore, we hope to replicate the benefits of external focus in relation to internal focus, both in outcome and product measures. Six male participants performed a bilateral leg extension under internal focus of attention, external focus of attention and online demonstration conditions. Muscular contractions goal times were set for concentric muscle action (4 seconds) and eccentric muscle action (2 seconds). An electrogoniometer was used to record muscular activation (production measures), and temporal error was used to observe performance (outcome measures). Results showed that online demonstration condition obtained better performance than external focus condition and a reduced muscular activation. However, differences between internal focus and the other experimental conditions were not found. These findings advance in the understanding mechanisms underpining the focus of attention, such as proposed by Constrained Action Hypothesis.

RESUMO Este estudo objetivou identificar e analisar as chances de ocorrerem os efeitos dos ataques feitos pelos atacantes de ponta, a partir das posições 4 e 6, no side-out, segundo o efeito da recepção, tempo de ataque e o tipo de ataque. Foram analisados 142 jogos da Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, total de 6.185 ações de ataque. Os pontos de ataque foram predominantes após as recepções de excelente qualidade e os ataques potentes. Houve diferença no efeito da recepção, tipo de ataque e efeito do ataque, segundo o local da finalização (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Os ataques de ponta se caracterizaram por serem feitos após recepções que permitem o ataque organizado e pela potência do ataque. O local de ataque mostrou-se como diferenciador do tipo de ataque feito, sugeriu que as restrições ambientais exigem do atacante de ponta comportamento distinto em função do local da finalização.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to identify and analyse the chances to occur of the attack effects carried out from positions 4 and 6, the left-side attackers, in the side-out, according to the reception effect, attack tempo and attack type. It was analyzed 142 games of the 2014-2015 Men’s Superleague, totaling 6185 attacks. The points of attack were predominant by the reception of excellent quality and the powerful attacks. There was difference in the effect of the reception, attack type and attack effect, according to the place of (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Attacks for zone 4 and 6 were characterized by being performed after receptions that allow the organized attack and the power of the attack. The attack place proved to be a differentiator of the attack type carried out, suggesting that the environmental restrictions require the attacker to behave differently according to the place of attack.

RESUMEN El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar y analizar las posibilidades de que se produjeran los efectos de los ataques feitos por los atacantes de punta, a partir de las posiciones 4 y 6, en el side-out, según el efecto de la recepción, tiempo de ataque y tipo de ataque. Se analizaron 142 partidos de la Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, con un total de 6.185 ataques. Dominaron los puntos de ataque después de la recepción de buena calidad y los ataques fuertes. Hay diferencia en la recepción, el tipo del ataque y el efecto del ataque según el lugar de la finalización (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Los ataques de punta se caracterizaron por su realización después de las recepciones que permitían el ataque organizado y por la fuerza del ataque. El lugar de ataque es un diferenciador del tipo de ataque feito y las restricciones ambientales exigen del atacante de punta un comportamiento diferente en función del lugar de la finalización.

Resumo Objetivou-se identificar os fatores preditivos da eficácia do ataque da equipe campeã da superliga feminina conforme o nível de desempenho das equipes adversárias. A amostra compôs-se pela observação de 1137 ataques ocorridos em 21 jogos da equipe campeã da Superliga Feminina 2015-2016. Os resultados mostraram-se significativos na identificação dos fatores preditivos da eficácia do ataque em confrontos contra adversários de desempenho elevado (x.=110,562; p<0,00001), intermediário (x.=64,134; p<0,00001) e baixo (x.=62,137; p<0,00001). Assim, conclui-se que ao enfrentar equipes de elevado desempenho o ataque potente para a posição 6 e o 2º tempo de ataque aumentaram as chances de pontuar no ataque; os ataques potentes para a posição 1 e 5 reduziram as chances de ocorrer a continuidade do jogo e o ataque potente para a posição 6 aumentaram as chances de ocorrer o bloqueio. Além disso, em jogos contra equipes de desempenho intermediário a recepção que permitiu o ataque organizado sem todas as opções de ataque reduziu as chances de pontuar no ataque e de continuidade do jogo, enquanto que a eficácia da recepção não mostrou-se como fator preditivo da eficácia do ataque em jogos contra adversários de elevado e baixo desempenho; e, finalmente, em jogos contra equipes de baixo desempenho o ataque potente para a posição 1 reduziu as chances de ocorrer a continuidade do jogo e o bloqueio do ataque.

Abstract The aim was to identify the predictive factors of the attack efficacy of the Brazilian women’s League Champion team according to the level of performance of the opposing team.The sample was composed of the observation of 1137 attacks in 21 games of the 2015-2016 Brazilian women’s Volleyball League champion team. The results were significant to identify the predictive factors of the attack efficacy against high (.2=110.562; .<0.00001), intermediate (.2=64.134; .<0.00001) and low (.2=62.137; .<0.00001) performance opponents. Thus, it is concluded that when playing against high- performance teams, powerful attack for position 6 and second attack tempo increase the chances of attack point; powerful attacks for position 1 and 5 reduce the chances of game continuation; and powerful attack for position 6 increases the chances of blocking. In addition, in games against intermediate-performance teams, reception that allows organized attack without all attack options reduces the chances of attack point and game continuation, while the reception effect did not seem to be a predictive factor of the attack efficacy in games against high- and low-performance opponents and, finally, in games against low-performance teams, powerful attack for position 1 reduces the chances of game continuation and attack blocking.

RESUMO Este experimento investigou os efeitos do número de demonstrações na aquisição de uma habilidade motora discreta. Setenta e quatro universitários, de ambos os sexos, participaram desse estudo. Os participantes observaram um modelo duas ou dez vezes. Na fase de aquisição, os participantes foram requisitados a lançar um dardo por meio de um movimento antero-posterior em um alvo circular até atingir um desempenho critério. Não foram identificadas diferenças na aprendizagem entre os grupos na análise do escore. Contudo, dez demonstrações estimularam melhor do que duas demonstrações no que diz respeito ao desempenho do padrão correto e ao número de sujeitos que atingiram o desempenho critério. Os resultados indicam um efeito similar de ambos os números de demonstrações no desempenho e aprenizagem do arremesso de dardo de salão e que ambas as condições estimularam a capacidade dos aprendizes de detectarem informações relevantes para desempenhar a tarefa.

ABSTRACT This experiment investigated the effect of number of visual demonstrations on the acquisition of discrete motor skill. Seventy-four college students of both sex participated in this study. The participants observed a visual model twice or ten times. In the acquisition phase, the participants were asked to throw a dart with postero-anterior movement into a circle target until reach a learning criterion. In transfer tests no difference between groups was found in the analysis of score. However, ten demonstrations were more effective than twice as regards performance of the correct pattern of movement and the number of subjects who reached the performance criterion. The results indicate a similar effect of the both number of demonstrations in the performance and dart throwing learning and both conditions influence subject’s capacity to detect relevant information to perform the task.

Resumo O tipo de prática pode influenciar o que é aprendido de uma habilidade motora. Objetivou-se investigar os efeitos da prática constante e aleatória na aprendizagem do Programa Motor Generalizado e parâmetros do saque do voleibol. A amostra foi composta por 20 crianças entre 10 e 12 anos. Os participantes realizaram um pré-teste, cujo escore foi utilizado para contrabalançar dois grupos (n=10), prática constante e aleatória. Durante a fase de aquisição, o grupo aleatório realizou 252 saques de três posições diferentes, sempre indicada ao final de cada saque e o grupo controle realizou todos os saques somente de uma posição específica. O teste de retenção mostrou que ambos os grupos aprenderam o Programa Motor Generalizado, mas a prática aleatória conduziu para uma melhor aprendizagem dos parâmetros, resultante da prática variada. Durante a prática de habilidades motoras esportivas, apesar de as práticas constante e aleatória melhorarem a aprendizagem do Programa Motor Generalizado, somente a prática aleatória melhora a aprendizagem dos parâmetros da habilidade motora.

Abstract The type of practice can influence what is learned from a motor skill. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the constant and random practice on the learning of Generalized Motor Program and parameters of the volleyball serve. The sample was composed of 20 children between 10 and 12 years old. The participants performed a pre-test whose score was adopted to counterbalance two groups (n=10), random practice and constant practice. During the acquisition phase, the random group performed 252 serves from three different positions, always indicated at the end of each serve, and the constant group performed all serves from only a specific position. The retention test showed that both groups learned the Generalized Motor Program, but random practice conducted to higher parameterization learning, resultant from the variable of practice. During practice of a sport motor skills, although the constant and random practice improve the learning of Generalized Motor Program, only the random practice improves learning of parameters of the motor skill.

The aim of this study was to investigate the short and long-term effects of the bandwidth KR in learning of the absolute and relative dimensions of a motor skill. Twenty-two undergraduate students divided into two groups: G15 who received KR when the relative error exceeded 15%; and G0, with KR after every trial. The study consisted of an acquisition phase, and the volunteers practiced 100 trials with a target time of 850 ms and relative of 22.2%, 44.4% and 33.3% between the first and second, second and third, third and fourth keys, respectively. This phase, KR related to relative time (relative error) was provided according to the group. KR of total target time was available to both groups after all trials. Three retention tests with ten trials were conducted 10 minutes, 24 hours and one week after the acquisition phase. The results showed that G15 had a smaller relative error than G0. This study allows concluding that bandwidth KR in relation relative time error showed its effects in the consistency of relative time. These effects persisted even after seven days after the acquisition phase in a delayed retention test.

This study aimed to identify the predictive factors of attacks, performed from positions 1 and 6 according to the effect of reception in high level Brazilian male volleyball and to find the predictive factors that differentiate the game practiced from these positions. The sample consisted in the observation of 142 games of the Brazilian Men's Super League, totalling 2969 actions of reception, setting and attack from positions 1 and 6. The significance value adopted was 5% (p ≤ 0.05). The analysis of the predictive factors of the game performed by the attacker of position 1 showed greater chances to score after an excellent (odds ratio adjusted - ORA = 1.48) and moderate effect of reception (ORA = 1.31), the second attack tempo (ORA = 1.32), the powerful attack in parallel (ORA = 1.91) and in diagonal (ORA =3.44). The attacker of position 6 showed higher chances of scoring after a high effect of reception (ORA = 3.39) and powerful attack in the parallel (ORA = 1.53). In conclusion, regardless the effect of reception, the use of the back-row attackers is recommended to increase the uncertainty on the opposing team and the chances to score.

Resumo O estudo tem como objetivo investigar a validade de construto e fidedignidade da lista de checagem para análise qualitativa do saque por cima do Voleibol. Participaram do estudo 55 sujeitos do sexo masculino com idades entre 13 e 17 anos. O saque por cima foi analisado utilizando a lista de checagem de Meira Junior (2003) que analisa o padrão de movimento do saque em quatro fases: posição inicial, levantamento da bola, ataque à bola e finalização. A validade de construto foi analisada utilizando análise fatorial confirmatória e a fidedignidade através do coeficiente alfa de Cronbach. A validade de construto foi suportada pela análise fatorial confirmatória com os resultados do RMSEA (0,037 [Intervalo de confiança 90% = 0,020-0,040]), CFI (0,97) e TLI (0,95) indicando um bom ajuste do modelo. Em relação à fidedignidade, o coeficiente alfa de Cronbach foi de 0,661, sendo este valor considerado aceitável. Dentre os itens da lista de checagem, o lançamento da bola e o ataque à bola apresentaram maiores cargas fatoriais, com 0,69 e 0,99, respectivamente. Em síntese, a lista de checagem para análise qualitativa do saque por cima de Meira Junior (2003) pode ser considerada um instrumento válido e confiável para utilização em pesquisas na área das Ciências do Esporte.

Abstract This study aims to investigate the construct validity and reliability of the checklist for qualitative analysis of the overhand serve in Volleyball. Fifty-five male subjects aged 13-17 years participated in the study. The overhand serve was analyzed using the checklist proposed by Meira Junior (2003), which analyzes the pattern of serve movement in four phases: (I) initial position, (II) ball lifting, (III) ball attacking, and (IV) finalization. Construct validity was analyzed using confirmatory factorial analysis and reliability through the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The construct validity was supported by confirmatory factor analysis with the RMSEA results (0.037 [confidence interval 90% = 0.020-0.040]), CFI (0.970) and TLI (0.950) indicating good fit of the model. In relation to reliability, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.661, being this value considered acceptable. Among the items on the checklist, ball lifting and attacking showed higher factor loadings, 0.69 and 0.99, respectively. In summary, the checklist for the qualitative analysis of the overhand serve of Meira Junior (2003) can be considered a valid and reliable instrument for use in research in the field of Sports Sciences.

Abstract Aims: This study aimed to investigate how different age groups of older adults perform and control movements in a goal-directed aiming task and the importance of visual feedback during these movements. Methods: Participants included 22 old adults, divided in two age groups: younger (60-70 yr) and older (80-90 yr). Subjects performed the task in a condition with vision and in a condition where vision was deprived. Results: In the vision condition, younger subjects showed smaller movement and reaction times, smaller radial errors, higher peak velocities, lower relative times to reach peak velocity than older subjects. In the vision-deprived condition the same results were found, except for radial error measure, where no significant effect for age groups was found. Conclusion: Younger subjects seemed to rely more on visual online feedback than older subjects and older subjects use other sensory sources to meet the possible deficits of information obtained by vision.

RESUMO Pouco se sabe a respeito da associação entre o efeito da interferência contextual (EIC) e medidas cinemáticas. O objetivo do presente estudo foi investigar o EIC nos perfis cinemáticos de velocidade e aceleração do membro superior. Vinte e dois participantes (23,7 ± 3,3 anos) foram alocados em dois grupos de prática: em blocos (GPB) e aleatória (GPA). A tarefa consistiu em acertar três alvos apresentados no monitor em três sequências pré-determinadas o mais rápido e preciso possível. O estudo foi dividido em fase de aquisição e teste de transferência. As variáveis de desempenho foram tempo de reação, tempo de movimento e tempo de resposta e as variáveis cinemáticas foram pico de velocidade, tempo relativo para o pico de velocidade e número de correções para alcançar o alvo. Os principais achados mostraram que o GPA apresentou menor tempo de movimento e de resposta do que o GPB. Análise de regressão indicou que a mudança observada ao longo da prática para a medida de pico de velocidade estava associada à mudança do tempo de reação da fase de aquisição para o teste de transferência. Como o pico de velocidade é uma medida associada à pré-programação, sugere-se que o controle central seja essencial para a observação do EIC.

ABSTRACT The association between contextual interference effect (CIE) and kinematic measures has been little investigated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the CIE on velocity and acceleration kinematic profiles of upper limb. Thirty-two subjects (23,7 ± 3,3 years) were assigned to groups of blocked practice (GPB) and random practice (GPA). The task consisted in achieve three targets in three specific sequences as quickly and accurately as possible. The study was designed in acquisition phase and transfer test. The variables of performance were reaction time, movement time, and response time and the kinematic variables were peak of speed, relative time to peak of speed, and number of peak acceleration points. The main findings showed that GPA showed lower movement time and response time than GPB. Regression analysis indicated that change in peak velocity during practice was associated to the change of the reaction time from practice to the transfer test. As peak velocity is a measure related to preprogramming, it is suggested that central control was essential to the CIE.

Abstract BACKGROUND There is aconsensus that repetition observed in constant practice producesminimalbenefits to the transfer of learning. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to investigatein 3 experiments the effects of constant practicein transfer contexts. METHODOLOGY Participants were asked during acquisition phase, in all experiments, to press four keys sequentially with different requirements of absolute timing in a same relative timing structure. In the transfer tests, they were tested in a novel absolute timing criterion. RESULTS The results of experiment 1 and 2 showed that the relative timing structure was maintained only when the transfer required parameter scaling close to the parameter value practiced in acquisition. The transfer parameter that is far to the parameter practiced did not affect the movement parameterization. The result of experiment 3 showed that relative timing structure is disrupted in the transfer test when constant practice has high and low amount of practice. CONCLUSION Some specific aspects interfere in the transfer test when constant practice is experienced.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar o efeito do ataque das posições 1 e 6 no voleibol masculino brasileiro de alto nível, no intuito de compreender melhor a estruturação ofensiva do jogo. A amostra constituiu-se pela observação de 142 jogos da Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, totalizando 2969 ações de recepção, levantamento e ataque das posições 1 e 6. Os resultados mostraram que houve associação entre o local do ataque, o tempo de ataque, o tipo de ataque e o efeito do ataque (p<0,001). Os resultados mostraram que o ponto de ataque, quando o mesmo é realizado a partir da posição 6, associa-se ao ataque na paralela, enquanto, ao analisar a posição 1, o ponto de ataque associa-se ao ataque potente na diagonal. Além disso, o ataque colocado associou-se à continuidade do jogo, assim como as recepções de baixa qualidade (b e c). Neste contexto, conclui-se que a posição do atacante influencia na eficácia do ataque utilizado, segundo o tempo de ataque e o tipo de ataque.

Abstract The aim of this study was to identify the effect of attacks from positions 1 and 6 in high-level Brazilian Men’s Volleyball in order to understand the offensive structure of the game. The sample was composed of the observation of 142 2014-2015 Men’s Superleague games, totaling 2969 reception, set and attack actions from positions 1 and 6. The results showed association between place of attack, attack tempo, type of attack and effect of attack (p<0.001). The results showed that the point of attack, when it is performed from position 6, is associated with parallel attack, while, when analyzing position 1, the point of attack is associated with potent diagonal attack. Furthermore, placed attack was associated with game continuity, as well as with low-quality receptions (b and c). In this context, it was concluded the attacking position influences the attack efficacy, according to time and type of attack.

Abstract AIMS The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the combination of constant and variable practice when both, motor program and parameters on absolute and relative dimensions of a task, are manipulated. METHOD Twenty undergraduate students, aged between 19 and 24 years, participated in this study. Two groups practiced the task of pressing four keys of a numeric keyboard with total and relative times specified under constant conditions in the first part of the acquisition phase and under block conditions in the second part when one group varied parameters and another varied motor programs. RESULTS Both groups improved parameters and motor program measures during the acquisition phase. In the retention test, the parameters variation resulted in higher accuracy on motor program measure that the variation of motor programs.
