O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar se o gênero estabelece diferenças significativas nos níveis e no processo da Síndrome de Burnout em professores de escolas da rede pública. Também procurou identificar associações das dimensões de burnout com variáveis demográficas, laborais e comportamentais. Foi utilizado como instrumento de pesquisa o MBI- Maslach Burnout Inventory e um questionário elaborado especificamente para este estudo para as demais variáveis. A amostra, do tipo de conveniência, foi composta de 31 homens e 30 mulheres. Os resultados obtidos indicam não existir diferença estatisticamente significativa entre os grupos nas dimensões e níveis de Burnout; no entanto, verifica-se a ocorrência de associação diferenciada nos dois grupos entre as dimensões de Burnout e determinadas variáveis demográficas, profissionais e comportamentais.

The objective of this study was to analyse if the gender establishes significant differences in the levels and in the process of the Syndrome of Burnout in the teachers of the public schools. It also tried to identify associations if the dimensions of Burnout with demographic laboural and behavior variables. It was used as instrument of research MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory and a questionnaire elaborated specially for this study for the other variables. The sample, of the convenience kind, was composed by 31 men and 30 women. The results gotten indicate there is no difference statistically significant between the groups in the dimensions and levels of burnout. Nevertheless, it is verified the occurrence of distinguishable association in the two groups between dimensions of burnout and determined demographic, professional and behavior variables.
