Abstract The research was performed in the cycle 2020, with the objective of determining the chemical characteristics of the soil and water quality in the municipalities of Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz and Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca, Mexico. The soil and water were sampled, the content of cations, anions and water quality variables were determined. High concentrations of Ca and Mg were recorded in the soil with average values of up to 19.20 and 19.42 mEq L-1 respectively. High concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+ and HCO3 - were recorded in the water with average values of up to 4.79, 4.32 and 7.97 mEq L-1 respectively. According to the variables SP, RAS, IS and CSR, the water is classified as suitable for irrigation. It is concluded that the use of acids is necessary to lower the pH of the water and neutralize the carbonates.

Resumen La investigación se realizó en el ciclo 2020, con el objetivo de determinar las características químicas del suelo y calidad del agua en los municipios de Miahuatlán de Porfirio Díaz y Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca, México. Se muestreo el suelo y agua, se determinó contenido de cationes, aniones y variables de calidad del agua. En el suelo se registró alta concentración de Ca2+ y Mg2+ con valores promedio de hasta 19.20 y 19.42 mEq L-1 respectivamente. En el agua se registró alta concentración de Ca2+, Mg2+ y HCO3 - con valores promedio de hasta 4.79, 4.32 y 7.97 mEq L-1 respectivamente. Según las variables SP, RAS, IS y CSR el agua se clasifica como adecuada para riego. Se concluye que el uso de ácidos es necesario para bajar el pH del agua y neutralizar los carbonatos.

ABSTRACT Although soybean is one of the most important agricultural commodities in the world, it has been losing genetic diversity in recent decades, due to the intense breeding process and reproduction method. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the agronomic performance and estimate the genetic diversity among inbred lines, and identify promising crossings. A total of 66 soybean genotypes were evaluated, 61 of which were pre-commercial lines, and five commercial cultivars (AS3797, DESAFIO, M7110, M7739, M8210) as controls. The experimental design consisted of randomized blocks with three replicates. The distance matrix between the inbred lines was calculated by Mahalanobis distance and grouping by the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean (UPGMA). The maximum distance was 1,776.26 between cultivar M7110 and the G23 inbred line, and the minimum 1.50 between inbred lines G13 and G36, with an average distance of 364.40, demonstrating genetic diversity. The traits that contributed most to genetic divergence were number of days to flowering (66.7%) and physiological maturation (28.55%). Inbred lines G60 (higher grain yield), G51 and G33 (lower physiological maturation) and cultivar M7110 (greater divergence) stood out. RESUMO A soja é uma das mais importantes comodities agrícolas mundiais, no entanto, devido ao intenso processo de melhoramento e sua forma de reprodução, vem perdendo diversidade genética ao longo das últimas décadas. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desempenho agronômico, estimar a diversidade genética entre as linhagens e identificar cruzamentos promissores. Para isto, foram avaliados 66 genótipos de soja, sendo 61 linhagens pré-comerciais e cinco cultivares comerciais (AS3797, DESAFIO, M7110, M7739, M8210) como controles. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. A matriz de distância entre as linhagens foi calculada pela distância de Mahalanobis e o agrupamento pelo método da ligação média entre grupos (UPGMA). A distância máxima foi de 1.776,26 entre as linhagens M7110 e G23, e a mínima de 1,50 entre as linhagens G13 e G36, sendo a distância média de 364,40, demonstrando a existência de diversidade genética. Os caracteres que mais contribuíram para a divergência genética foram número de dias para o florescimento (66,7%) e maturação fisiológica (28,55%). Abstract Introduction: policies aimed at use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs in recent years have shown their limitations in responding to the healthcare needs of workers who use and/or abuse alcohol and other drugs to alleviate the adverse effects from hostile work-related mechanisms. Objective: to articulate approaches that gather a theoretical-conceptual set that adequately addresses complex and multi-causal topics, such as the relation between psychological distress and work, with the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs as their main element. Results: scientific evidence points out to the relation between neoliberal labor market changes, moral and ethical violence in the professional environment and negative effects on workers’ physical and mental health. Studies argue about the need to break with the logic of subjectivist functionalism on the topic of work-related use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs. ABSTRACT Inadequate management of pasture soils in the Amazon has resulted in a predominance of degraded pastures. Considering the natural characteristics of this region can favor more appropriate strategies for sustainability, the objective of this study was to evaluate the differences in the chemical and physical attributes of pasture and forest soils in the Southern Amazon and to identify the most sensitive attributes of their fertility. Additionally, this study suggests appropriate management practices for sustainable pastures. Soil samples from the 0 to 0.20 m layer were analyzed to determine pH, exchangeable bases (calcium, magnesium, and potassium), exchangeable aluminum, potential acidity, phosphorus, organic carbon, bulk density, and texture. Pasture soils had a higher pH, calcium content, and bulk density than forest soils. However, the pasture soils had lower phosphorus and organic matter content. The soil organic carbon stocks were also lower in pasture soils, with levels 0.8 to 12 Mg ha-1 lower than in forest soils. The fertility attributes most sensitive to soil management in these pastures were phosphorus, pH, organic carbon, and bulk density. The lack of nutrients and soil and water conservation practices have contributed to the degradation of these pastures. RESUMO O manejo inadequado de solos de pastagens na Amazônia resulta em predomínio de pastagens degradadas. Considerando as características naturais dessa região pode favorecer estratégias mais adequadas para sua sustentabilidade, o objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar as diferenças de atributos químicos e físicos de solos de pastagens e florestas no sul da Amazônia e identificar os atributos mais sensíveis de sua fertilidade. Além disso, sugerir práticas de manejo mais adequadas para essas pastagens em direção à sustentabilidade. Amostras de solo da camada de 0 a 0,20 m foram analisadas para determinação de pH, bases trocáveis (cálcio, magnésio e potássio), alumínio trocável, acidez potencial, fósforo, carbono orgânico, densidade aparente e textura. Os solos de pastagem tiveram maior pH, cálcio e densidade aparente do que os solos de floresta. No entanto, os solos de pastagem apresentaram menores teores de fósforo e matéria orgânica. Abstract Research around the world has focused on developing ways to predict hydraulic parameters in water distribution systems. The application of these forecasts can contribute to the decision-making of water distribution systems managers, aiming to ensure that the demand is met, and even to reduce water losses. The present work sought, among two data prediction models (ARIMA and Multi-Layer Perceptron Artificial Neural Networks), to assess which one can perform best predictions of pressure and discharge rate data. To reach the stipulated goal, real data were obtained from a water supply network provided by NUMMARH - Nucleus of Modeling and Simulation in Environment and Water Resources and Systems of the Federal University of Itajubá, Brazil. These data initially underwent an adjustment so that it was possible to develop a computer program. Resumo Pesquisas ao redor do mundo vem se concentrando em desenvolver maneiras de prever parâmetros hidráulicos em sistemas de distribuição de água. A aplicação destas previsões pode contribuir para a tomada de decisão dos gestores dos sistemas de distribuição de água, visando a garantia do atendimento da demanda, e até mesmo a redução de perdas de água. ABSTRACT Background: Pressatia choti is a common sand fly found in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, which is suspected to be involved in the transmission of Leishmania braziliensis. Herein, we aimed to establish a Pr. choti laboratory colony. Methods: Wild-caught female sand flies were blood fed on hamsters and maintained under controlled conditions (temperature: 26 °C; relative humidity: 70%). Results: Of the 301 collected female sandflies, 288 were identified as Pr. choti. The life cycle duration ranged from 31 to 56 days. ABSTRACT The prospects for reducing organic load in water basins must be evaluated considering the self-purification capacities of the water bodies into which the raw or treated effluent will be discharged. The aim of this work was to evaluate the reduction of the organic load contribution to the Poti River, a watercourse that crosses the city of Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, considering different conditions for the final disposal of domestic sewage. To estimate the levels of reduction of the organic load contribution, the Water Quality Model Qual-UFMG and Nonlinear Programming were used in a combined manner. Three scenarios of final effluent disposal were modeled. For the appropriation of the reductions in organic load contributions, two different optimization models were used, models that incorporated restrictions based on the environmental quality standards indicated by the Brazilian Environment Council (CONAMA) Resolutions No. 357/2005 and 430/2011. The results indicated that the estimated effort for removal of organic load based on the optimization model that does not employ an equity measure among discharges was lower, regardless of the scenario analyzed. RESUMO A perspectiva de redução de aporte orgânico em bacias hidrográficas deve ser avaliada com base na capacidade de autodepuração dos corpos d’água nos quais serão despejados os efluentes brutos ou tratados. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi a avaliação da redução do aporte de carga orgânica afluente ao rio Poti, curso d’água que corta o município de Teresina, Piauí, Brasil, considerando-se diferentes condições de disposição final de esgotos domésticos. Para a estimativa de níveis de redução do aporte de carga orgânica foram empregados, de maneira combinada, o modelo de qualidade de água Qual-UFMG e a Programação Não Linear. Foram modelados três cenários de disposição final de efluentes. Para a apropriação das reduções dos aportes de carga orgânica, dois diferentes modelos de otimização foram utilizados, modelos que incorporaram restrições baseadas nos padrões de qualidade ambiental estabelecidos pelas Resoluções do Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) n° 357/2005 e n° 430/2011. Abstract Water supply systems are basically composed of water intake, adduction, treatment, reservation and distribution, and in each component there is a variable amount of water and energy loss, which is present in any supply system. Abstract Fungi and Aves are present in all ecosystems and interact with a variety of organisms. The purpose of this study was to compile and analyze in the literature the mycophagy and association of birds with fungi to evaluate the aspects of interaction habits and habitat in natural and industrial environments. Este estudo teve como objetivo compilar dados na literatura sobre a micofagia e analisar as associações das aves com fungos, avaliando os aspectos de hábitos e habitats nos ambientes naturais e industriais. Abstract Tadalafil, a potent phosphodiesterase inhibitor 5 (PDE-5), is commonly used for the management of erectile dysfunction. However, its therapeutic potential extends beyond this indication. This study aimed to investigate the impact of tadalafil on the recovery of testicular parenchyma in male Wistar rats exposed to testicular thermal stress. Fifty-four Wistar rats were subjected to testicular thermal stress and randomly assigned to receive either tadalafil treatment (TAD) or no treatment (control). TAD was administered intraperitoneally at a dose of either 0.9 mg/kg or 1.8 mg/kg. Biometric parameters, histopathological assessment of the testis, serum testosterone levels, oxidative stress, and interleukin levels were evaluated on days 7, 15, and 30 after thermal shock. The animals were euthanized at the end of each experimental period, and samples were collected. TAD treatment maintained testicular weight and reduced the testicular degenerative process up to day 7 post-injury. However, despite TAD therapy, serum testosterone levels were decreased in the treated groups at days 7 and 15 post-thermal stress. TAD also decreased TNF-α and NO levels at different doses but had no effect on IL-6. The treatment with TAD after heat shock demonstrated anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties but did not prevent the aggravation of testicular lesions in subsequent periods, even with the systematic reduction in TNF-α and NO levels. RESUMO Atualmente, muitos sistemas de abastecimento de água coletam e monitoram dados diariamente, com destaque para valores de níveis de reservatórios, pressões e demandas de consumo, além de dados elétricos. Os dados gerados são transformados em informações, proporcionando o conhecimento necessário para direcionar o gestor no planejamento de ações e tomadas de decisão em geral. R é uma linguagem de programação muito utilizada para análises estatísticas e recentemente alguns trabalhos apresentaram o uso do software R acoplado ao EPANET. Dessa forma, este trabalho objetivou avaliar a potencialidade do programa R interligado ao EPANET para banco de dados de sistemas de abastecimento de água. Nesse intuito, considerou-se a metodologia em propor uma simulação no R de uma rede de distribuição de água teórica criada no EPANET para avaliar os resultados da demanda de consumo diário. A rede proposta foi simulada variando-se demandas de consumo com os níveis do reservatório, sendo obtidos vários resultados no período de 24 horas. Consequentemente, foi possível automatizar o processo de análises estatísticas gerando tabelas, gráficos referentes à dispersão das demandas, pressões dos nós, vazões dos trechos oriundos de cada variação de consumo e níveis de reservatório. Os resultados obtidos comprovaram a compatibilidade e a praticidade do modelo matemático de distribuição de água projetada no programa EPANET simulada no R e armazenada no banco de dados SQL server. ABSTRACT Currently, many water supply systems collect and monitor data daily, among which we can highlight values of reservoir levels, pressures, and consumption demands, in addition to electrical data. ABSTRACT Purpose: To evaluate exogenous hyaluronic acid (HA) derived from bacterial fermentation through enteral and parenteral routes in ischemic skin flaps induced in rats, using clinical and histological exams; and interleukins (IL) as tissue inflammatory biomarkers. Methods: Sixty-four male adults Wistar rats with ischemic skin flaps on the dorsum were randomized into four groups, based on the treatment protocol: subcutaneous administration of saline solution (0.9%) (GI); oral administration of distilled water (GII); subcutaneous administration of HA (0.3%) (GIII); and oral administration of HA (1%) (GIV). Flaps of all groups were comparable regarding clinical and macroscopic evaluation, histological examination, pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α) and anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. O objetivo do presente estudo foi verificar se a cor do recipiente influencia na percepção do esforço a ser exercido para abrir embalagens de água mineral com tampa de rosca. Para isso, foram utilizadas três embalagens com formatos idênticos, porém em três cores diferentes: vermelha, azul e transparente. Abstract The water table apparatus allows the qualitative visualization of natural ventilation in reduced physical models. The quality of the results depends on several parameters, such as the obstruction rate of the reduced physical model in the test area. However, there is a lack of scientific research that analyzes the influence of this rate on the quality of results. The objective of this article is to qualitatively evaluate the fluid behavior at different values of clogging rate of the reduced physical model of the test area on the water table. The research method was divided into four stages: model selection; construction of reduced physical models; experimental tests on the water table and simulations of Computational Fluid Dynamics. In general, the behavior of the fluid in the experimental and simulation results is similar. A qualidade dos resultados depende de diversos parâmetros, tais como a taxa de obstrução do modelo físico reduzido na área de ensaio. No entanto, faltam pesquisas científicas que analisam a influência dessa taxa na qualidade dos resultados. O objetivo do artigo é avaliar, qualitativamente, o comportamento do fluido para diferentes valores de taxa de obstrução do modelo físico reduzido na área de ensaio da mesa d’água.
