Avaliou-se o efeito da suplementação de aminoácidos industriais para redução de proteína bruta (PB) em dietas para leitões desmamados aos 21 dias de idade sobre o desempenho e sobre as variáveis morfofisiológicas, utilizando-se 126 leitões com peso inicial de 6,05±0,35kg. Os animais foram distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com seis tratamentos (24,0; 23,0; 22,0; 21,0; 20,0; 19,0% de PB), sete repetições e três animais por unidade experimental. Não houve efeito significativo da redução de proteína bruta da dieta sobre o ganho de peso médio diário, o consumo de ração diário e a conversão alimentar, e o pH do estômago também não sofreu influência, mas houve diminuição do pH do duodeno. Os pesos relativos do baço e do fígado, a altura de vilosidades e a profundidade de criptas no duodeno, jejuno e íleo não foram influenciados, enquanto o peso do pâncreas diminuiu com a redução da proteína bruta da dieta.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of amino acid supplementation for the reduction of crude protein (CP) in diets for piglets weaned at 21 days of age on performance and morphophysiological parameters of 126 piglets with an initial weight of 6.05±0.35kg. The animals were divided into a randomized block experimental design with six treatments (24.0, 23.0, 22.0, 21.0, 20.0, 19.0% CP), seven replicates and three animals per experimental unit. It was found that there was no significant effect of reducing crude protein in the diet on the piglets' average daily weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion (FC). It was also found that the reduction of protein did not influence the pH of the stomach, however, the pH of the duodenum decreased with the reduction of CP. The relative weights of the spleen, liver and villus height and crypt depth in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum were not affected, whereas pancreatic weight decreased with the reduction of crude protein in diets.

Avaliou-se o efeito de estratégias nutricionais sobre o desempenho e as características de carcaça de suínos dos 30 aos 100kg. Foram utilizados 120 suínos, distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos e oito repetições de três animais por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos usados foram: dieta-controle = dieta com alta proteína bruta sem aminoácidos industriais; dieta baixa PB= dieta com baixa proteína bruta com aminoácidos industriais; dieta fitase = dieta-controle com suplementação de fitase; dieta orgânica = dieta-controle suplementada com minerais inorgânico-orgânicos; e dieta composta = dieta com baixa proteína bruta suplementada com aminoácidos industriais, fitase e minerais inorgânico-orgânicos. As dietas avaliadas não alteraram o desempenho e as características de carcaça dos suínos em comparação aos animais da dieta-controle. Conclui-se que a redução de proteína bruta, a suplementação com fitase e minerais inorgânico-orgânicos podem ser adotadas por não alterarem significativamente o desempenho nas fases de crescimento e terminação e as características de carcaças.

The objective was to evaluate the effect of different nutritional strategies on performance and carcass traits of pigs from 30 to 100kg. One hundred and twenty pigs were used, distributed in randomized blocks, with five treatments and eight replicates of three animals per experimental unit. Treatments were: control diet = corn-soybean based diet without synthetic amino acids; low crude protein diet = corn-soybean based diet with low protein and synthetic amino acids; phytase diet = control diet supplemented with phytase; organic diet = control diet supplemented with inorganic and organic minerals; and combination diet = diet with low protein supplemented with phytase and inorganic-organic minerals. Means were compared with the control diet by the Dunnett test. The diets evaluated did not alter the performance of pigs when compared to pigs fed the control diet. The reduction of crude protein, supplementation with phytase and inorganic-organic minerals can be adopted without significantly changing performance during the growing-finishing and carcass traits at 100kg.

Avaliou-se a suplementação de dietas com fósforo disponível (Pd) para suínos selecionados para deposição de carne, utilizando-se 100 leitões com média de peso inicial de 15,03±0,33kg, distribuídos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos, cinco repetições e quatro animais por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos foram dieta basal sem suplementação de fosfato bicálcico e outras quatro dietas obtidas pela suplementação da dieta basal com fosfato bicálcico, resultando em cinco concentrações de Pd, 0,106; 0,221; 0,310; 0,406; e 0,493%. As porcentagens de Pd influenciaram o consumo diário de ração, que aumentou de forma linear. O ganho de peso diário aumentou e a conversão alimentar melhorou de forma quadrática até a suplementação máxima de 0,450 e 0,390% de Pd, respectivamente. Não houve efeito da suplementação das dietas sobre a resistência óssea. As porcentagens de Pd influenciaram de forma quadrática os teores de cálcio e de fósforo nos ossos, que aumentaram até a adição máxima de 0,388 e 0,369% de Pd, respectivamente. Não houve efeito da porcentagem de Pd sobre o teor de cinza óssea. Suínos dos 15 aos 30kg exigem maior concentração de Pd para máximo ganho de peso (0,450% ou 5,33g/dia) e melhor conversão alimentar (0,390% ou 4,52g/dia) em relação às recomendações atuais.

The supplementation of diets with available phosphorus (aP) for pigs selected for meat deposition was evaluated, using 100 commercial hybrid piglets, 50 castrated males and 50 females, with average initial weight of 15.03±0.33kg allotted in a randomized block design with five treatments, five replicates, and four pigs, 2 males and 2 females per experimental unit. The treatments were a basal diet and other four diets obtained through basal diet supplementation with dicalcium phosphate to obtain five aP concentrations, 0.106, 0.221, 0.310, 0,406, and 0.493%. The percentages of aP influenced daily feed intake, which increased linearly. Daily weight gain increased and feed conversion improved quadratically up to 0.450 and 0.390% maximum responses. There was no effect of diet supplementation on bone strength. The percentages of aP influenced the calcium and phosphorus contents in the bones, which increased quadratically up to 0.388 and 0.369% maximum responses, respectively. There was no effect of aP percentage in the bone ashe content. Pigs from 15 to 30kg require greater amount of aP in the diet for maximal weight gain (0.450% or 5.33g/d) and greatest feed conversion (0.390% or 4.52g/d) compared to current requirements.

Foi realizado um experimento utilizando-se 300 leitoas, com peso inicial de 25,00±0,54kg, para avaliar os efeitos da porcentagem de lisina digestível sobre o desempenho e a composição da carcaça de leitoas dos 60 aos 100 dias de idade. Os animais foram distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos 0,65; 0,75; 0,85; 0,95 e 1,05% de lisina digestível, cinco repetições e 12 animais por unidade experimental. Não se observou efeito significativo dos tratamentos sobre o consumo de ração diário e o rendimento de carcaça das leitoas. A porcentagem de lisina da dieta influenciou o consumo de lisina digestível e o ganho de peso diário, que aumentaram de forma linear. O aumento na concentração de lisina digestível da dieta melhorou de forma linear a conversão alimentar e aumentou a quantidade de carne magra da carcaça. A porcentagem de lisina influenciou a espessura de toucinho das leitoas, que reduziu de forma quadrática até a porcentagem estimada de 0,87% de lisina digestível. A inclusão de 1,05% de lisina digestível na dieta, correspondente ao consumo de lisina digestível de 18,50g/dia, proporciona os melhores resultados de desempenho e quantidade de carne na carcaça de leitoas dos 60 aos 100 dias de idade.

The experiment was conducted with 300 gilts with initial weight of 25.00±0.54kg, from 60 to 100 days of age, to evaluate the effects of digestible lysine percentages on performance and carcass traits of the animals. The gilts were allotted in a randomized block design, with five treatments (percentages of digestible lysine), five replicates, and twelve animals per experimental unit. The treatments applied were 0.65; 0.75; 0.85; 0.95 and 1.05% of digestible lysine. No effects of treatments on the daily feed intake of the gilts were observed. A linear increase on digestible lysine intake as a result of increasing the concentration of digestible lysine in the diet was verified. The increase in dietary digestible lysine concentration resulted in a linear increase of daily weight gain. The increase of digestible lysine concentrations in the diet resulted in a linear improvement of feed conversion and in a linear increase in the amount of lean meat in the carcass. There was no effect of digestible lysine concentration on gilts' carcass traits. The amount of lean meat in the carcass of pigs increased linearly with the increase of the percentage of digestible lysine in the diets. The percentage of digestible lysine influenced the back fat thickness of the gilts which decreased quadratically up to 0.87% digestible lysine maximum response. The inclusion of 1.05% digestible lysine in the diet, corresponding to a daily intake of 18.5 g digestible lysine provides the greatest performance results and amount of lean meat in the carcass of gilts from 60 to 100 days of age.

Avaliou-se o efeito da adição dos ácidos fumárico, lático e propionato de cálcio ou suas combinações sobre o desempenho, pH estomacal, pH duodenal, morfologia e morfometria do intestino delgado de leitões desmamados aos 15 dias de idade. Foram utilizados 180 leitões, 90 machos castrados e 90 fêmeas, com média de peso inicial de 4,78±1,19kg, distribuídos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso. Utilizaram-se cinco tratamentos: T1 - ração controle (RC); T2 - RC + 0,5% de ácido fumárico; T3 - RC + 0,5% de ácido fumárico + 1,0% de propionato de cálcio; T4 - RC + 0,5% de ácido fumárico + 1,0% de ácido lático; T5 - RC + 0,5% de ácido fumárico + 0,5% de propionato de cálcio + 0,5% de ácido lático, com seis repetições e seis animais por unidade experimental. Não houve influência (P>0,05) dos tratamentos sobre o ganho de peso diário (GPD), consumo de dieta diário (CRD) e conversão alimentar (CA). Quanto ao epitélio intestinal, não houve diferenças (P>0,05) entre tratamentos em relação à altura do epitélio do duodeno, jejuno e íleo. Não houve efeito dos tratamentos (P>0,05) sobre o pH do estômago e do jejuno. A inclusão do ácido fumárico não influenciou o desempenho dos leitões.

This assay was carried out to evaluate the effect of fumaric acid; latic acid and calcium propionate on the performance and morphological and morphometric characteristics of small intestine in weaning piglets. A total of 180 weaning piglets were used (90 males and 90 females) with 15 days of age and an initial weight of 4.78 1.1 kg, distributed in a completely randomized block designed with five treatments: T1 - Control ration (CR); T2 - CR + 0.5%fumaric acid; T3 - CR + 0.5% fumaric acid + 1.0% calcium propionate; T4 - CR + 0.5% fumaric acid +1.0% lactic acid; T5 - CR + 0.5% fumaric acid + 0.5% calcium propionate + 0.5% lactic acid , six replicates of six animals. The performance, morphological and morphometric characteristics of small intestine were evaluated. Daily weight gain, daily feed intake, weight gain: feed intake ratio was not affected by treatments. Significant differences between treatments were not observed for intestinal epithelium height of duodenum, jejunum and ileum (P>0.05). No significant differences between treatments were observed (P<0.05) for the pH of stomach and jejunum. No effect of fumaric acid on piglets performance was observed.

Avaliou-se o efeito da ractopamina e de diferentes métodos de formulação de dietas sobre o desempenho e as características de carcaça de leitoas em terminação. Foram utilizadas 60 leitoas, híbridas comerciais, distribuídas em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 2x3, sendo dois níveis de ractopamina e três métodos de formulação de dietas. Houve interação de métodos de formulação versus ractopamina para ganho de peso diário, peso corporal, conversão alimentar e taxa de deposição de carne magra (TDCM) na avaliação de carcaça in vivo por ultrassom. A dieta formulada com alta proteína bruta proporcionou maior consumo de dieta (CRD), de lisina (CLD), ganho de peso diário (GPD) e peso corporal final. A suplementação de ractopamina não influenciou o CRD e o CLD, entretanto aumentou o GPD. O método de formulação da dieta não influenciou as características de carcaça aos 28 dias, enquanto a suplementação de ractopamina reduziu a espessura de toucinho, aumentou a profundidade de lombo e o rendimento de carne magra. A dieta formulada com alta proteína bruta proporcionou melhores resultados de desempenho e taxa de deposição de carne magra na carcaça de leitoas em terminação, suplementadas com ractopamina.

The effect of ractopamine supplementation and feed formulation methods was evaluated on performance and carcass characteristics of finishing gilts. Sixty animals were allotted in a completely randomized block experimental design, in a 2x3 factorial scheme - ractopamine (0 and 5ppm) X three feed formulation methods. Interactions between feed formulation method and ractopamine for daily weight gain (DWG), body weight, feed:gain (DFG), and lean carcass meat deposition (LCMD) were by in vivo carcass evaluation using ultrasound observed. Daily feed intake (DFI), lysine intake (DLI), DWG, and final body weight were higher for diets with high protein level. Ractopamine supplementation did not affect feed intake, and lysine intake, but increased daily weight gain. Feed formulation method affected carcass characteristics recorded at 28 days, while ractopamine supplementation reduced backfat thickness, increased muscle depth, and lean carcass proportion of the gilts. Ractopamine improved performance and carcass characteristics of finishing gilts and feed formulation methods affected performance and carcass characteristics. Better performance and higher lean carcass deposition were observed for finishing gilts fed high protein level diets supplemented with ractopamine.

Estudou-se o efeito da redução da proteína bruta (PB) e da suplementação de aminoácidos em dietas para suínos, dos 70 aos 100kg. Foram utilizados 48 suínos machos, castrados, híbridos comerciais, com o peso inicial de 70,12±1,56kg, distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com quatro níveis de proteína bruta na dieta, 17,95; 16,45; 14,95; 13,45, seis repetições e dois animais por unidade experimental. Não foi observado efeito dos tratamentos sobre o ganho de peso diário e sobre o consumo de dieta diário. Houve efeito quadrático dos níveis de PB sobre a conversão alimentar, que melhorou até o nível estimado de 15,7% de proteína bruta. Não houve influência dos níveis de PB sobre a espessura de toucinho e sobre o rendimento de carne magra. Conclui-se que a redução da proteína bruta na dieta de até 4,5 pontos percentuais, com suplementação de aminoácidos, para suínos na fase de terminação, não influi no consumo de dieta diário, no ganho de peso diário e nas características de carcaça. Melhor conversão alimentar foi estimada para suínos alimentados com dietas contendo 15,7% de proteína bruta.

This experiment was carried out to evaluate the influence of crude protein (CP) reduction level of diet with amino acid supplementation on performance of barrows. A total of 48 crossbred barrows, with average initial weight of 70.12±1.56kg were used. The animals were allotted in a completely randomized experimental design with four treatments, 17.95; 16.45; 14.95; 13.45%CP, six replicates and two animals per experimental unit. The barrows were fed ad libitum during the experiment. No effect of decreasing dietary CP level on feed intake and weight gain was observed. There was a quadratic effect of the CP levels on feed:gain ratio with minimum estimated value for barrows fed 15,70% CP diet. There was no effect of CP levels on backfat thickness and lean meat. Reducing CP level from 17.95 to 13.45% in barrows diet with amino acids supplementation has no harmful effect on the performance and carcass characteristics.

Realizou-se um experimento com 1.500 leitões distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso com cinco tratamentos: controle e com suplementação de 60, 120, 180 e 240g de betaglucano por tonelada de dieta. Foram analisadas as variáveis ganho de peso diário, peso final, consumo de dieta diário e conversão alimentar nos períodos de 21 a 35, 21 a 49 e 21 a 60 dias de idade. Houve aumento linear significativo do peso final e do ganho de peso diário de leitões suplementados com betaglucano na dieta dos 21 aos 60 dias de idade. A inclusão de 240g/ton. proporcionou aumento no peso final de 800g, o que corresponde ao aumento de 3,2% em relação aos animais do grupo-controle. O ganho de peso diário foi 4,7% mais alto para o grupo de animais tratados com 240g/ton. Não se observou efeito significativo dos tratamentos sobre: consumo diário de dieta, conversão alimentar, atividade da enzima superóxido dismutase nem sobre a resposta imune.

A total of 1,500 piglets were used in a completely randomized experimental block design to study the effects of beta-glucon level (control, 60, 120, 180, and 240g per ton of diet) on daily weight gain, body weight, daily feed intake and feed: weight gain ratio from 21 to 35, 21 to 49 and from 21 to 60 days of age Positive and significant linear effects of beta-gluton on body weight and daily weight gain of piglets from 21 to 60 days of age were observed. The inclusion of 240g of beta-gluton in diet resulted in 800g increase in body weight which corresponds to 3.25% increase in body weight and 4.7% increase in daily weight gain in comparison to animals of the control group. No effects of beta-gluton supplementation on feed intake, feed: weight gain ratio and superoxide dismutase enzyme activity or animal immune response were observed.

Realizou-se um experimento para determinar a exigência de fósforo disponível para suínos machos castrados (Agroceres-Pic) utilizando-se 60 animais, distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos -0,1; 0,2; 0,3; 0,4 e 0,5% de fósforo disponível, seis repetições e dois animais por unidade experimental. Os animais foram sangrados por punção do plexo venoso orbitário aos 21 dias e ao final do experimento, em jejum, para obtenção dos valores da atividade da fosfatase alcalina no soro (AFAS) e fósforo no soro. Observou-se efeito quadrático dos níveis de fósforo disponível sobre o ganho de peso diário, consumo diário de ração, fósforo no soro aos 21 dias, fósforo no soro ao final do experimento e conversão alimentar, que melhorou até o nível de 0,39% de fósforo disponível. Houve efeito linear sobre o consumo diário de fósforo, AFAS aos 21 dias e AFAS ao final do experimento. Concluiu-se que a exigência de fósforo disponível para suínos machos castrados selecionados para deposição de carne magra na carcaça, de 30 a 60kg, é de 0,39%, correspondendo ao consumo de 9,11g/dia.

An experiment was carried to determine available phosphorus requirement of crossbred barrows (Agroceres-Pic), using 60 animals in a completely randomized block design with five dietary treatments - 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; and 0.5% of available phosphorus, six replicates, and two animals per experimental unit. On the 21st day of the experiment and at its end, blood samples were collected from orbital plexus of fasting animals to analyze and register alkaline phosphatase and serum phosphorus values. Quadratic effect of available phosphorus level on average daily gain, daily feed intake, serum phosphorus on the 21st day of the experiment, serum phosphorus at the end of the experiment, and feed conversion ratio were observed. Minimum feed conversion ratio was estimated for animals fed diets containing 0.39% available phosphorus. There was a linear effect of available phosphorus level on daily phosphorus intake, alkaline phosphatase on the 21st day and alkaline phosphatase at the end of the experiment. Dietary available phosphorus requirement for 30 to 60kg high lean barrows was 0.39%, which corresponds to an available phosphorus intake of 9.11g/day.

Avaliaram-se os efeitos da ractopamina e de dois níveis de lisina digestível na dieta sobre o desempenho e características de carcaça de leitoas com peso corporal a partir de 85kg, durante 21 e 28 dias antes do abate, os quais foram distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso com cinco repetições de dois animais por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos consistiram de arranjo fatorial 2x2, com dois níveis de lisina digestível (LD), 0,67 e 0,87%, e dois níveis de ractopamina (0 e 5ppm). Observou-se efeito significativo do nível de LD sobre o ganho de peso e peso corporal e interação significativa (P<0,05) entre o nível de LD e a ractopamina sobre a conversão alimentar e sobre a taxa de deposição de carne magra corporal. Não houve efeito significativo (P>0,05) do nível de LD sobre a espessura de toucinho, profundidade de lombo e rendimento em carne magra da carcaça de acordo com avaliação da carcaça, feita in vivo. Não houve efeito (P>0,05) da ractopamina sobre o consumo de ração, o ganho de peso diário e o peso corporal aos 21 e 28 dias de experimento. A ractopamina reduziu a espessura de toucinho no ponto P2 aos 21 dias e aumentou o rendimento de carne magra e a profundidade de lombo na avaliação da carcaça no frigorífico.

The effects of ractopamine and digestible lysine levels on performance and carcass traits of gilts with initial body weight average of 85kg, recorded during 21 and 28 day before slaughtering time were evaluated in a completely randomized block design with five replicates of two animals per experiment unit. The treatments consisted in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme, two levels of digestible lysine (DL) (0.67 and 0.87%) and two ractopamine levels (0 and 5ppm). Significant effects of DL on daily weight gain and body weight and significant effects of DL and ractopamine level were observed for feed:weight gain ratio and lean meat carcass deposition. No significant effects (P>0.05) of DL on fat thickness, muscle depth and lean meat yield according to the in vivo carcass evaluation were observed. No significant effect of ractopamine (P>0.05) on feed intake, daily weight gain and body weight (21 and 28 days) were observed. Ractopamine reduced back fat thickness at P2 point (21days) and increased lean meat yield and muscle depth in frigorific carcass evaluation.

Avaliou-se o efeito de níveis de treonina digestível em rações sobre o desempenho e características de cacaça de suínos machos castrados, selecionados geneticamente, para deposição de carne na carcaça, na fase de terminação. Foram utilizados 70 animais, com peso inicial de 59,00+1,25kg, distribuídos em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos, sete repetições e dois animais por unidade experimental, sendo que na distribuição dos animais, foi adotado como critério o peso inicial. Os tratamentos foram níveis de treonina na ração (0,480; 0,504; 0,528; 0,554 e 0,572% de treonina digestível). Não houve efeito (P>0,05) dos tratamentos sobre o ganho de peso, consumo de ração e conversão alimentar. Os níveis de treonina digestível não influenciaram (P>0,05) a porcentagem de carne e a espessura de toucinho na carcaça. Conclui-se que o nível de 0,480% de treonina digestível, correspondente a relação de treonina digestível:lisina digestível de 60%, atendeu as exigências de suínos machos castrados de alto potencial para deposição de carne na carcaça dos 60 aos 95kg.

An experiment was carried out to determine the effects of digestible threonine levels in ration on the performance and carcass traits of hogs genetically selected for lean deposition at finishing. Seventy barrows averaging an initial weight of 59.00+1.25kg were distributed in a randomized experimental block design with five treatments and seven replicates, being two animals per experimental unit. Initial weight was adopted as a criterion for animal distribution in the treatments, which were the levels of digestible treonine in the diet (0.480; 0.504; 0.528; 0.554; and 0.572%). No effect (P>0.05) was observed among the treatments on daily weight gain, daily feed intake, and feed conversion. Digestible threonine levels did not influence (P>0.05) lean and backfat thickness percentage. It can be concluded that the level of 0.480% of digestible treonine, corresponding to the rate digestible treonine:lysine 60%, supplied the requirments of high potential lean deposition barows from 60 to 95kg.

Avaliaram-se o desempenho e as características morfológicas e morfométricas do intestino delgado de 210 leitões, desmamados aos 15 dias de idade, com peso médio inicial 4,04±0,66kg, em dois períodos experimentais (15-30 e 15-36 dias de idade). O delineamento experimental foi em blocos ao acaso, com sete tratamentos (T1: ração-controle sem adição de acidificante; T2: ração-controle + 0,5% de ácido fumárico; T3: ração-controle + 1,0% de ácido fumárico; T4: ração-controle + 0,5% de ácido fumárico +0,1% de ácido butírico; T5: ração-controle + 0,5% de ácido fumárico + 0,5% de ácido fórmico; T6: ração-controle + 1,0% de ácido fumárico + 0,1% de ácido butírico e T7: ração-controle + 1,0% de ácido fumárico +0,5% de ácido fórmico), cinco repetições e seis animais por unidade experimental. O peso dos leitões aos 30 dias de idade não foi influenciado pelos tratamentos, mas houve efeito significativo de tratamento sobre ganho de peso e consumo alimentar diário no período de 15-30 dias de idade, com maior desempenho para os leitões alimentados com dietas suplementadas com ácido fumárico. Não houve efeito significativo dos tratamentos sobre o peso médio aos 36 dias, o ganho de peso, o consumo diário e a conversão alimentar dos leitões de 15 a 36 dias de idade. Houve diferença entre tratamentos para a altura do epitélio do duodeno, porém não houve diferença em relação à do jejuno e à do íleo. As eletromicrografias do duodeno dos leitões alimentados com as diferentes dietas experimentais revelaram vilosidades com características normais.

Performance, morphological and morphometric characteristics of the small intestine of 210 recently weaned piglets, averaging 4.04 ± 0.66 kg, during two periods ( from 15 to 30 days of age and from 15 to 36 days of age) were evaluated in a randomized block experimental design with seven treatments, T1: control diet (CD); T2: CD + 0.5% fumaric acid; T3: CD + 1.0% fumaric acid; T4: CD + 0.5% fumaric acid + 0.1% butyric acid; T5: CD + 0.5% fumaric acid + 0.5% formic acid; T6: CD + 1,0% fumaric acid + 0.1% butyric acid and T7: CD + 1.0% fumaric acid + 0.5% formic acid, five replicates and six piglets per experimental unit. No effects of treatment (P<0.05) on body weight at 30 days of age was observed but significant differences between treatments were observed for daily weight gain and feed consumption from 15 to 30 days of age. Piglets fed supplemented acid fumaric diets had higher performance during this period. No significant effects of treatments on body weight at 36 days of age, daily weight gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion were observed (P>0.05) from 16 to 36 days of age. Significant differences (P<0.05) between treatments for duodenal epithelium height were observed, but not for jejunum and ileum epithelium heights. Normal villus patterns were observed in the electromicrographs of duodenum from piglets fed all different diets.

Com o objetivo de determinar os coeficientes de digestibilidade ileal aparente (CDA) dos aminoácidos de alimentos energéticos foi realizado um ensaio de metabolismo com suínos machos castrados submetidos à anastomose íleo-retal com isolamento do intestino grosso, utilizando-se o método da coleta total de excretas e três repetições por alimento avaliado. Os animais cujo peso médio inicial foi de 35,1kg foram alojados em gaiolas de metabolismo sendo um animal por unidade experimental. Os alimentos avaliados (milho comum, milho de alta proteína, milheto, sorgo e farelo de trigo) constituíram a única fonte protéica das dietas, isoprotéicas em 8% de PB. As dietas foram fornecidas duas vezes ao dia e a sua quantidade calculada com base no peso metabólico dos animais. A glicina, treonina e prolina apresentaram os menores CDA (respectivamente 49,37; 59,36 e 59,62%), enquanto arginina e ácido glutâmico, os maiores valores, (respectivamente 89,67 e 85,09% para o CDA). Os dados obtidos podem ser utilizados como referência para a formulação de dietas para suínos em crescimento com base em aminoácidos digestíveis.

A metabolism assay that utilized pigs ileo-rectal anastomosis with complete isolation of large intestine was conducted to determine aparent (ADC) ileal amino acids digestibility coefficients of energetic feedstuffs for swine. The method employed was the total feces collection with three repetitions for evaluated feedstuff. The pigs, averaging 35,5kg initial live weight, were allotted in metabolism cages. The metabolism cage was considerate one experimental unit. The valued feedstuffs (corn, QPM corn, millet, sorghum and wheat bran) was single protein source of diets, every one with 8% of crude protein. The diets was provide in twice time and the quantity calculated of accord with the metabolic weight. In the feedstuffs evaluated glycine, threonine and proline exhibited the smaller values of ADC (respectively, 49,37; 59,36 and 59,62%), whereas arginine and glutamic acid presented the greater values of ADC (respectively, 89,67 and 85,09%).

Avaliaram-se os efeitos das fontes lipídicas (gordura de coco e óleo de soja) e dos níveis de energia digestível (3350; 3450; 3550 e 3650kcal de ED/kg de ração) sobre o desempenho produtivo e reprodutivo de 64 marrãs da raça Landrace, com peso médio inicial de 58,703±0,26kg. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso, em arranjo fatorial 2<FONT FACE=Symbol>´</FONT>4 e quatro repetições. Não houve interação entre as fontes e os níveis de energia digestível (ED). Ganho diário de peso (GDP), consumo diário de energia (CED) e conversão alimentar (CA) aumentaram de maneira linear (P<0,01) com os níveis de ED das rações. A espessura de toucinho (ET) aumentou (P<0,01), de forma quadrática, em função dos níveis de ED das rações. Não houve efeito dos tratamentos sobre o consumo diário de ração e consumo diário de lisina. Observou-se aumento linear (P<0,01) na idade à puberdade e no número de corpos lúteos em função dos níveis de ED utilizados. O nível de energia digestível não influenciou (P>0,10) o peso à puberdade, número de embriões viáveis, taxa de fertilização e mortalidade embrionária. A utilização de gordura de coco como fonte de energia proporcionou melhores resultados de GDP, enquanto que o óleo de soja foi mais eficiente para aumentar a ET. Marrãs de reposição puras da raça Landrace, que receberam ração controlada dos 60kg de peso à época da primeira cobrição, exigem o nível de 3650kcal de ED/kg de ração, para melhores resultados de desempenho e características reprodutivas, independentemente da fonte de energia utilizada.

The effect of lipid sources (coconut oil and soybean oil) and digestible energy (DE) levels (3350, 3450, 3550 and 3650kcal DE/kg of diet) on the performance and reproductive traits of 64 Landrace gilts, averaging 58.703±.26kg, in a randomized block design, with four replicates, was evaluated. Daily weight gain (DWG), daily energy gain (DEG) and feed:gain ratio (F/G) linearly increased (P<.01) as the dietary DE levels increased. Backfat thickness (BT) quadractly increased, according to the dietary DE levels. No treatment effects on daily feed intake and daily lysine intake were observed. Age at puberty and number of corpora lutea, increased linearly (P<.01) according to the dietary DE levels. Dietary digestible energy levels did not affect (P>.10) age at puberty, number of viable embryos, fertilization rate and embryo mortality. Gilts fed on coconut oil as energy source of the diet showed the best DWG, while those fed on soybean oil were more efficient to increase BT. Reposition Landrace gilts from 60kg until breeding age (at the second heat) fed on adjust controlled diets require 3650 DE/kg of diet for better performance and reproductive results, independently of the energy source.

Um ensaio de metabolismo foi conduzido para avaliar a digestibilidade de nutrientes e valores energéticos de grãos de soja processados no calor para suínos em crescimento. Foram utilizados 20 suínos machos castrados, mestiços, com peso inicial médio de 37,67± 3,33kg. Adotou-se delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os alimentos avaliados foram farelo de soja, soja semi-integral extrusada, soja integral expandida e soja integral micronizada, os quais substituíram em 25% a dieta-referência. Os valores de ED e dos coeficientes de digestibilidade aparente da EB, PB, MS e EE para os alimentos testados foram: 3583kcal/kg, 85,2%, 90,8%, 85,7% e 69,3% para o farelo de soja; 4065kcal/kg, 83,6%, 86,1%, 81,9% e 81,5% para a soja semi-integral extrusada; 3803kcak/kg, 75,2%, 73,9%, 74,4% e 80,4% para a soja integral expandida; 5272kcal/kg, 95,3%, 95,2%, 93,2% e 94,3% para a soja integral micronizada. A expansão foi inadequada para a soja integral, que apresentou os piores valores de digestibilidade. Os processamentos de extrusão e micronização das sojas semi-integral e integral, respectivamente, foram eficientes na inativação dos fatores antinutricionais e na melhoria de suas digestibilidades, sendo que a micronização mostrou-se superior aos demais processamentos.

A metabolism trial was conducted to evaluate the digestibility rate and energy values of thermal processed soybean for growing pigs. Twenty barrows with an initial average weight of 37.67± 3.33kg were used in a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replicates. The treatments consisted in a reference diet and four experimental diets. The feedstuffs evaluated were soybean meal, extruded semi-integral soybean, expanded integral soybean and micronized integral soybean. These ingredients replaced 25% of the reference diet. The values of digestibility energy and apparent digestibility rates of crude energy, crude protein, dry matter and ether extract of the feeds were: 3583kcal/kg, 85.2%, 90.8%, 85.7% and 69.3% for soybean meal; 4065kcal/kg, 83.6%, 86.1%, 81.9% and 81.5% for extruded semi-integral soybean; 3803kcal/kg, 75.2%, 73.9%, 74.4% and 80.4% for expanded integral soybean; 5272kcal/kg, 95.3%, 95.2%, 93.2% and 94.3% for micronized integral soybean. The expansion process was not adequate for integral soybean, which showed the worst digestibility rate. The extrusion and the micronization processes of semi-integral and integral soybean respectively, were efficient to inactivate the antinutritional factors and to improve the digestibility. The results obtained with the micronization process were better than those of the others thermal processes.
