Objetivo: analizar los efectos de una intervención basada en mindfulness sobre la inteligencia emocional y la resiliencia de enfermeros líderes. Método: estudio piloto de un ensayo clínico aleatorizado cruzado. Muestra (n=32) aleatorizada en el grupo A (n=18) y grupo B (n=14), se los evaluó en el pretest, postest y seguimiento. Los resultados fueron evaluados mediante la Medida de Inteligencia Emocional, el Cuestionario de Resiliencia de Connor-Davidson y el Cuestionario Mindfulness de Cinco Facetas, y analizados por el Generalized Linear Mixed Models . Resultados: fueron evaluadas 32 enfermeras con una edad promedio de 42,6 años. Los análisis mostraron interacciones significativas de los efectos de los factores grupo vs. momento en los puntajes de las habilidades de automotivación (p=0,005), sociabilidad (p<0,001), autocontrol (p=0,013) y total (p=0,002) de inteligencia emocional; de las facetas observar (p=0,042), describir (p=0,008), no juzgar (p<0,001), actuar con conciencia (p=0,004) y total (p<0,001) de mindfulness. Postest: hubo un aumento estadísticamente significativo de las habilidades de sociabilidad (p=0,009) y autocontrol (p=0,015) de inteligencia emocional; de las facetas no juzgar (p=0,022) y total (p=0,002) de mindfulness . Seguimiento: se observó un aumento significativo en las facetas no juzgar (p=0,024) y total (p=0,026) de mindfulness . La variable resiliencia no presentó significación estadística en el factor grupo vs. momento en el postest y seguimiento. Objective: to analyze the effects of a Mindfulness-based intervention on nurse leaders’ emotional intelligence and resilience. Method: a pilot study of a randomized crossover clinical trial. The sample (n=32) was randomized into Group A (n=18) and Group B (n=14) and evaluated at the pre-test, post-test and follow-up moments. The outcomes were assessed using the Emotional Intelligence Measure, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Questionnaire and the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and analyzed using Generalized Linear Mixed Models. Results: a total of 32 nurses with a mean age of 42.6 years old were evaluated. The analyses showed significant interactions between the effects of the group x moment factors on the Self-motivation (p=0.005), Sociability (p<0.001), Self-control (p=0.013), and Total (p=0.002) emotional intelligence skill scores; as well as on the Observe (p=0.042), Describe (p=0.008), Non-judgment (p<0.001), Act with awareness (p=0.004) and Total (p<0.001) mindfulness facets. Post-test: there was a statistically significant increase in the Sociability (p=0.009) and Self-control (p=0.015) emotional intelligence skills; as well as in the Non-judgment (p=0.022) and Total (p=0.002) mindfulness facets. Follow-up: a significant increase was observed in the Non-judgment (p=0.024) and Total (p=0.026) mindfulness facets. The “resilience” variable did not present statistical significance in the “group x moment” factor, both in the post-test and during follow-up. Conclusion: the Mindfulness-based intervention used proved to be effective in increasing nurse leaders’ emotional intelligence and dispositional mindfulness skills. Abstract Many capital cities are expanding bicycle lanes or investing in public bike-sharing systems to make cycling mobility a viable transport solution within urban areas. While bicycles are fit for short-distance trips (<15 minutes), their attractiveness declines for longer trips (Ton et al., 2020; Handy et al., 2014; Jäppinen et al., 2013). So, it is opportune to estimate to what extent the accessibility can be increased when intermodal solutions are available. In this paper, a quantitative analysis of different mobility scenarios is conducted. The aim is to evaluate how time travel and accessibility to amenities by bike, can be improved if public transportation such, as the train, is considered. The analysis uses open data and detailed GIS-based network analysis to examine the spatial relationship between transport opportunities, travel time and amenities access in Lisbon, Portugal. Three mobility scenarios are considered: in the first scenario, short-distance trips by bike from home are evaluated (15- minute travel). Then, to evaluate the contribution in time travel of potential modal shift (bike and train) vs individual car, second and third scenarios are presented considering longer distance travels within the city of Lisbon, during peak hours. Results suggest that for longer trips, the combined use of bicycle and train infrastructure can be a faster or more convenient alternative to individual car use. Also, multimodal cycling can expand riders’ area of influence and thus increase the accessibility to opportunities. So, people living near train stations can beneficiate from a “potential” proximity to a diversity of amenities that are geographically more distant. In Lisbon, 34% of the population live within the 10-minute bicycle catchment areas around the 8 train stations from Cintura Line and can thus benefit from this combination of transport modes. City planners can use this methodology to prioritize spaces where investing in accessibility can have the largest impact in terms of improving connections between homes and destinations. This methodology, developed and tested in Lisbon, can be applied in other cities to support planning interventions regarding sustainable transport alternatives.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the contribution of oral and maxillofacial pathology laboratories (OMPLs) in Brazilian public universities to the diagnosis of lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). A cross-sectional study was performed using biopsy records from a consortium of sixteen public OMPLs from all regions of Brazil (North, Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South). Clinical and demographic data of patients diagnosed with lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCC between 2010 and 2019 were collected from the patients’ histopathological records. Of the 120,010 oral and maxillofacial biopsies (2010-2019), 6.9% (8,321 cases) were diagnosed as lip (0.8%, 951 cases), oral cavity (4.9%, 5,971 cases), and oropharyngeal (1.2%, 1,399 cases) SCCs. Most cases were from Brazil’s Southeast (64.5%), where six of the OMPLs analyzed are located. The predominant profile of patients with lip and oral cavity SCC was Caucasian men, with a mean age over 60 years, low schooling level, and a previous history of heavy tobacco consumption. In the oropharyngeal group, the majority were non-Caucasian men, with a mean age under 60 years, had a low education level, and were former/current tobacco and alcohol users. According to data from the Brazilian National Cancer Institute, approximately 9.9% of the total lip, oral cavity, and oropharyngeal SCCs reported over the last decade in Brazil may have been diagnosed at the OMPLs included in the current study. Therefore, this data confirms the contribution of public OMPLs with respect to the important diagnostic support they provide to the oral healthcare services extended by the Brazilian Public Health System. ABSTRACT Introduction: Infant colic is a condition characterized by repetitive and continuous crying with difficulty calming down. Its origin is not defined, which hinders the existence of a successful treatment. Objective: To analyze the most current scientific evidence on the existing treatments that can be used in infant colic. Methods: A bibliographic search was carried out in Cinhal, Medline and Scopus databases using the descriptors, “Infant”, “Colic”, “Therapeutics” and the keyword “Treatment”. Ninety-seven total results were obtained, 15 of them were valid. Analysis and integration of information: The common purpose of the studies analyzed is to reduce the symptoms of colic in infants, focusing on reducing crying, treatments ranged from the administration of oral doses of probiotics, medicinal herbs and homeopathy, to treatment with physical stimuli such as cranio-sacral therapy, acupuncture, massage or reflexology. Conclusions: There are multiple treatments for infant colic but it cannot be said that one is more effective than the others.

RESUMEN Introducción: El cólico del lactante es un cuadro caracterizado por llanto repetitivo y continuado con dificultad para calmarse. Su origen no está definido, lo cual obstaculiza la existencia de un tratamiento de éxito. Objetivo: Analizar las evidencias científicas más actuales acerca de los tratamientos existentes y susceptibles de usar en el cólico del lactante. Métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos Cinhal, Medline y Scopus utilizando los descriptores, “Infant”, “Colic”, “Therapeutics” y la palabra clave “Treatment”. Se obtuvieron 97 resultados totales, de los cuales resultaron ser válidos 15. Análisis e integración de la información: La finalidad común de los trabajos analizados es la disminución de la sintomatología del cólico del lactante, centrándose en la disminución del llanto, con tratamientos que van desde la administración de dosis orales de probióticos, hierbas medicinales y homeopatía, hasta el tratamiento con estímulos físicos como la terapia cráneo-sacra, la acupuntura, el masaje o la reflexología. Conclusiones: Existen múltiples tratamientos para el cólico del lactante, pero no se puede afirmar que uno sea más eficaz que los demás.

Com base numa análise de uma reportagem televisiva, emitida pela cadeia privada de televisão portuguesa TVI, demonstra-se como um género nobre do jornalismo televisivo - a grande reportagem - foi colonizado por práticas narrativas e discursivas características da ficção, com impacto a diversos níveis. Ponderando as possíveis causas desta opção, pensam-se criticamente as consequências para a perceção pública de um tema de saúde pública - a gravidez medicamente assistida (GMA). A análise recorre a uma metodologia qualitativa - a análise narrativa - e enquadra-se no campo teórico da análise dos media e dos estudos narrativos mediáticos. Há também um suporte especializado sobre o tema em questão - criopreservação e procriação medicamente assistida - que é fundamental para compreender questões de representação, mediação e efeitos da narrativa televisiva exibida pela estação televisiva.

Abstract This article focuses on the hybridization that exists exists within the theoretical genres of contemporary journalism. Based on the analysis of a televised newscast, broadcast by the private television Portuguese channel TV1, this study aims to show how the noble genre of telecast journalism - great news reporting - has been colonized by discursive and narrative pratices characteristic of fiction, with an impact on several levels. Reflecting on the possible causes of this choice, this analysis will explore its consequences in relation to the public’s perception of a theme pertaining to public health - medically assisted reproduction (MAR). This study uses qualitative methodology - narrative analysis - and draws from the theoretical field of analysis of media and mediatic narrative studies. There is also a specialized basis in relation to the theme in question - cryoconservation and medically assisted reproduction - that is fundamental to understanding issues of representation, mediation and the effects of televised narrative presented by the television station.

ABSTRACT Several renewable energy certificate (RECs) applications point out that the blockchain technology can be useful in ensuring the traceability and transparency of transactions, despite some barriers to its implementation, such as the legal and market development. However, it is not clear how the organizational positioning, in relation to its given market, influences the artifact developed. In this study, through design science research (DSR) and case study methodology, we structure the problem space of two different positioned organizations in the sustainability field, with blockchain-based applications to produce and trade RECs. We find out that: (a) the position of the organization in relation to other stakeholders changes the behavior of the technology adoption; (b) the technological solution preceded the perception of the problem; (c) organizations create different representations of the artifact for each stakeholder. We suggest other studies to deepen these findings in order to better develop theories that explain how organizations see their problem when developing technological solutions while using DSR.

RESUMO Objetivo: verificar a relação entre auto referência de tontura, o grau, a simetria da perda auditiva, idade e sexo, em idosos. Métodos: estudo retrospectivo que incluiu a análise de 440 registros de idosos com média de idade de 72,9 anos, cadastrados no período de 2011 a 2015 em um Serviço de Reabilitação Auditiva. Foram aplicados modelos de regressão logística binária entre as variáveis, os dados foram tabulados e processados pelo software SPSS 24.00. Para todos os testes, os valores de alfa foram considerados significantes quando menores que 0,05. Resultado: na amostra, 78 (17,7%) idosos apresentaram perda auditiva assimétrica, sendo que destes, 27 (34,6%) referiram queixa de tontura. A queixa de tontura apresentou relação estatisticamente significante com o sexo feminino (p<0,001), com o grau da perda auditiva severa (p<0,001), com a idade inferior a 70 anos (DP 8,6 anos) e com a assimetria da perda auditiva (p<0,001). Conclusão: no presente estudo, idosos do sexo feminino, mais jovens, com perda auditiva assimétrica e grau de perda auditiva severo apresentaram queixa auto referida de tontura. Estes resultados sugerem que essa população seja rotineiramente rastreada sobre problemas de equilíbrio, com o objetivo de fornecer programas de reabilitação, a fim de prevenir futuras quedas.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify the association between self-reported dizziness, degree and symmetry of hearing loss, age and gender in a sample of older adults. Methods: this retrospective study included the analysis of 440 records of older adults with a mean age of 72.9 years, enrolled from 2011 to 2015 in an auditory rehabilitation service. Binary logistic regression models were performed between the variables, and the data was analyzed using the SPSS 24.00 software. For all tests, alpha values were considered significant when lower than 0.05. Results: in the sample, 78 (17.7%) older adults had asymmetric hearing loss, and 27 (34.6%) of them complained of dizziness. Self-reported complaint of dizziness was significantly associated with female gender (p<0,001), to severe hearing loss (p<0,001), age under 70 years, and with asymmetric hearing loss(p<0,001). Conclusion: in this study, younger female elderlies with severe asymmetric hearing loss presented self-reported complaint of dizziness . These results suggest that this population should be routinely screened for balance problems in order to provide rehabilitation programs to avoid future falls.

RESUMO Objetivo Investigar a percepção auditiva temporal, a orientação e a mobilidade de deficientes visuais. Métodos Estudo exploratório de intervenção, com amostra de conveniência composta por nove sujeitos cegos ou com baixa visão, com idades entre 23 e 64 anos, usuários de cão-guia e que realizaram os seguintes procedimentos: avaliação funcional de orientação e mobilidade, avaliação audiológica básica (audiometria tonal limiar, pesquisa do índice de reconhecimento de fala), avaliação do processamento auditivo temporal (teste de resolução temporal (random gap detection test - RGDT), teste de padrão de frequência (TPF), teste dicótico de dígitos (TDD), teste rápido de sentenças no ruído (TRIS). Resultados Todos os sujeitos apresentavam limiar audiométrico de grau normal, porém, um deles apresentava curva audiométrica do tipo neurossensorial e configuração descendente, sugerindo perda auditiva relacionada à idade. A avaliação das habilidades auditivas temporais mostrou valores dentro dos padrões de normalidade para todos os sujeitos, com exceção do teste RGDT, em que os sujeitos apresentaram valores menores (3,5 a 7,5 ms) do que os esperados para população de adultos com visão e audição normais. A avaliação da OM mostrou que todos os sujeitos necessitavam de adaptações técnicas, pois falhas foram observadas no percurso por eles executado. Conclusão A percepção auditiva temporal dos sujeitos deste estudo está adequada e a avaliação da OM mostra falhas que necessitam ser corrigidas.

ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate the temporal auditory perception, and OM of visually impaired people. Methods This is an exploratory intervention study including a convenience sample composed of nine blind or low vision subjects, aged between 23 and 64 years, guide dog users and who performed the following procedures: functional evaluation of OM, basic audiological evaluation (Pure tone audiometry, speech recognition index), temporal auditory processing assessment (random gap detection test (RGDT), frequency pattern test (FPT), dichotic digit Test (DDT), quick speech-in-noise test (QuickSIN). Results Although all subjects had normal-level audiometric thresholds, one subject had a sensorineural audiometric curve and descending configuration, suggesting an age-related hearing loss. Evaluation of the temporal auditory processing showed values within the normal for all subjects, except for the RGDT, in which test subjects had lower (3.5 to 7.5 ms.) than the expected values for the adult population with normal vision and hearing. Evaluation of OM showed that all subjects require technical adjustments as problems were observed in the route taken. Conclusion The temporal auditory processing of these subjects is appropriate and the evaluation of OM shows flaws that need to be corrected.

Abstract: This article focuses on the analysis of the informative treatment that the Spanish newspapers El País, ABC, El Mundo and La Razón gave to the consummate suicide, more precisely to the triggering factors, from the 1st of January to the 31st of December of 2017. Applying a methodology of content analysis, the results show that the analyzed journals pose the subject of suicide consummated as the solution to a problem and also include details such as the mechanism used and the suicide note. It could say that some cases are sensationalists. The information reflects the actual suicide data, but moves away from WHO’s indications to treat the issue from a more comprehensive and less newsworthy perspective.

Resumen: Este artículo se centra en el análisis del tratamiento informativo que los diarios españoles El País, ABC, El Mundo y La Razón realizan sobre el suicidio consumado, concretamente sobre los factores desencadenantes del mismo, desde el 1 de enero de 2017 hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2017. Aplicando una metodología de análisis de contenido, los resultados muestran que los diarios analizados plantean el tema del suicidio consumado como la solución a un problema y, además, incluyen detalles como el mecanismo empleado y la nota de suicidio, llegando en algunos casos al sensacionalismo. Las informaciones reflejan los datos reales sobre suicidio, pero se alejan de las indicaciones de la OMS para tratar el tema desde una perspectiva más integral y menos noticiosa.

Resumo Objetivo: Descrever achados radiológicos na tomografia computadorizada (TC) de tórax de crianças imunocompetentes menores de 36 meses com tuberculose pulmonar. Materiais e Métodos: Esta série de casos foi desenvolvida na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, no período de janeiro de 2004 a julho de 2013, onde 20 pacientes foram submetidos a TC após a realização de radiografias de tórax que não definiram o diagnóstico. Resultados: Todos os participantes tiveram linfonodomegalias e consolidações. Em 15 casos (75%) as consolidações tiveram atelectasia associada. Escavações pulmonares ocorreram em 10 casos (50%), havendo consolidações em 7 (35%). Áreas de escavação e destruição parenquimatosa em fase inicial não foram observadas nas radiografias simples. Conclusão: A apresentação radiológica de tuberculose pulmonar em lactentes não foi a mesma descrita em crianças maiores e adultos. A TC é um método aplicável para o diagnóstico precoce de tuberculose pulmonar em lactentes imunocompetentes, permitindo a rápida instituição de tratamento específico, que é crucial para interromper a progressão da doença e prevenir suas complicações locais e sistêmicas.

Abstract Objective: To describe the chest computed tomography (CT) findings in immunocompetent children under 36 months of age with pulmonary tuberculosis. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive case series conducted in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between January 2004 and July 2013, involving 20 young children who underwent CT after undergoing chest X-rays that did not provide a definitive diagnosis. Results: All of the participants had lymph node enlargement and consolidations. In 15 cases (75%), the consolidations were accompanied by atelectasis. Pulmonary cavitation was seen in 10 cases (50%), and cavitation within consolidations was seen in 7 (35%). The areas of cavitation and parenchymal destruction were not seen on conventional chest X-rays. Conclusion: The radiological presentation of pulmonary tuberculosis in young children differs from that described in older children and adults. CT is an effective method for the early diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in immunocompetent infants, allowing the rapid institution of specific treatment, which is crucial for halting disease progression, as well as for preventing local and systemic complications.

RESUMO Objetivo: verificar se alunos rastreados com processamento auditivo temporal alterado possuem maior probabilidade de apresentar processamento visual alterado. Métodos: participaram 68 crianças, de 9 a 12 anos, 53% meninos, do 5° e 6° ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola estadual. Foram excluídas todas as crianças com alterações na avaliação audiológica ou oftalmológica. Foram utilizados o Teste do Padrão de Duração (rastreio da habilidade auditiva de ordenação temporal), a Escala de Percepção Visual de Leitura (questionário de sintomas de estresse visual e seleção das lâminas espectrais) e o Teste de Taxa de Leitura (número de palavras lidas corretamente por minuto). Foram aplicados os testes estatísticos pertinentes adotando o nível de significância menor que 0,05. Resultados: participantes rastreados com processamento auditivo alterado apresentaram mais sintomas de estresse visual e menor taxa de leitura, de forma significante e moderada (p < 0.05; d < 0.71), quando comparados aos seus pares com processamento auditivo normal. Dentre as crianças com alteração no Teste do Padrão de Duração, 58% melhoraram a taxa de leitura com o uso da lâmina espectral, comparadas a 29% do grupo controle (Odds Ratio = 3.4; p = 0.017). Conclusão:alunos rastreados com processamento auditivo temporal alterado apresentam uma chance três vezes maior de associação com alterações no processamento visual, por compartilhamento na via magnocelular.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify whether students screened with altered auditory temporal processing are more likely to present altered visual processing. Methods: the sample consisted of 68 children, aged from 9 to 12 years, 53% males, from the 5th and 6th grades of a public school. All children with alterations in the audiological or ophthalmological evaluation were excluded. The Duration Pattern Test (screening for auditory temporal skill), the Reading Perceptual Scale (visual stress symptom questionnaire and colored overlays selection) and the Rate of Reading Test (number of words correctly read per minute) were used. Appropriate statistical tests were applied adopting the significance level lower than 0.05. Results: participants screened with abnormal auditory processing had higher visual stress symptoms and lower reading rate, with a significant and moderate effect (p< 0.05; d< 0.71), when compared to their peers with normal auditory processing. Among the children with altered Duration Pattern Test, 58% improved the reading rate with the use of colored overlays, whereas 29% did so in the control group (Odds Ratio = 3.4, p = 0.017). Conclusion: children screened with altered auditory temporal processing presented a three times higher possibility of association with visual processing alterations, due to shared magnocellular system.

Resumo Na Floresta Ombrófila Mista adicionalmente à diversidade florística, estudos sobre a diversidade anatômica da madeira de espécies nativas são interessantes pois permitem ampliar nosso conhecimento sobre a flora local. Portanto, este trabalho objetivou caracterizar anatomicamente e avaliar as similaridades e as principais características anatômicas que variam entre a madeira de 14 espécies nativas da Floresta Ombrófila Mista, de acordo com IAWA (1989). Foram utilizadas 14 variáveis anatômicas para aplicar os métodos de similaridade de Manhattan e Análise de Componentes Principais (PCA). Como resultados, pode-se observar que as espécies apresentam características comuns, como a porosidade difusa e pontoações intervasculares alternas. Além disso, a presença de fibras septadas e parênquima axial escasso em 50% das madeiras, foram características marcantes para as espécies da região. Quanto à similaridade, observou-se a divisão das mesmas pelas dimensões dos raios, vasos e pontoções. No PCA, destacaram-se o diâmetro do vaso, largura e altura do raio, a altura do raio em número de células, as pontoações intervasculares e raio-vasculares. Pode-se concluir que, mesmo com a grande diversidade anatômica é possível diferenciar a madeira das espécies da Floresta Ombrófila Mista, que ocorrem naturalmente na região do Planalto Catarinense.

Abstract In the Araucaria Forest in addition to floristic diversity, studies on the anatomical diversity of wood of native species are required. Therefore, this work aimed to characterize anatomically and evaluate the similarities and the main anatomical characteristics that vary between the wood of 14 native species of the Araucaria Forest. For the characterizations, the procedures determined by IAWA (1989) were followed. Fourteen anatomical variables were used to apply the Manhattan similarity and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). As result, it can be observed that the species present common characteristics, such as diffuse porosity and alternate intervessel pits. In addition, the presence of septate fibers and axial parenchyma scarce in 50% of the woods were remarkable characteristics for the species of the region. As for the similarity, was observed the division by the dimensions of the rays, vessels and pits. In PCA, the diameter of the vessel, width and height of the radius, the height of the radius in number of cells, the intervessel pits and the radius-vascular were emphasized. In conclusion, even with the great anatomical diversity, it is possible to differentiate the wood from the species of the Araucaria Forest, which occur naturally in the region of Planalto Catarinense.

O conceito de Desenvolvimento Positivo em Jovens (Positive Youth Development -PYD) destacou a importância de fortalecer as “forças” internas e externas do desenvolvimento nos contextos da juventude. Este artigo examina as propriedades psicométricas de PYD-Short Form (PYD-SF) e sua validação para jovens Portugueses. A amostra incluiu 2700 estudantes universitários (73,3% raparigas), com idade média e desvio-padrão de 21,3±2,79 anos. Aos 34 items do PYD-SF foi aplicada a Análise Factorial Exploratória (AFE) e Análise Factorial Confirmatória (AFC), obtendo-se um instrumento final mais reduzido (com 20 itens). No modelo final, a AFC apresentou um modelo ajustado aceitável (?2 (174) = 1349,20, GFI = 0,95, NFI = 0,95, CFI = 0,95 e RMSEA = 0,05, CI (RMSEA) = 0,05-0,06). O instrumento desenvolvido demonstrou propriedades psicométricas adequadas (validade e confiabilidade) para estimar o PYD em jovens Portugueses. Tal instrumento pode constituir-se uma vantagem para a sua administração em amostras populacionais maiores e um suporte para a tomada de decisões nas políticas e práticas profissionais, incentivando uma mudança na abordagem dos serviços de prestação de cuidados à juventude: de um ponto de vista focado em déficits/dificuldades, para uma perspectiva centrada em possibilidades/oportunidades.

The Positive Youth Development-PYD concept highlighted the importance of strengthening internal and external developmental assets in the youth’s contexts. This paper examines the psychometric properties of PYD-Short Form (PYD-SF) and its validation for Portuguese youths. The sample included 2700 college students (73.3% girls), with a mean age of 21.3±2.79 years old. Exploratory-EFA and Confirmatory Factorial Analysis-CFA were conducted on the 34 items of the PYD-SF, a final shorten instrument (20 items) was achieved, and in the final model, CFA displayed an acceptable model fit (?2 (174)=1349.20; GFI=0.95; NFI=0.95; CFI=0.95; and RMSEA=0.05, CI(RMSEA)=0.05-0.06). The developed measure showed adequate psychometric properties (validity and reliability) to estimate PYD in Portuguese youths. Such instrument can be an advantage for its administration in larger population samples and a support for decision-making in professional practices and policies, encouraging a shift in youth care services approach: from a perspective focused on deficits/difficulties, towards a viewpoint focalized on possibilities/opportunities.

ABSTRACT The present research was focused to characterize the digestive proteases in Macrobrachium carcinus adults using biochemical and electrophoretic techniques. Our results showed that the alkaline proteolytic activity from males and females did not show significant differences (P > 0.05) between them, the optimum pH for digestive proteases is 8, and is very stable to changes in alkaline pH (8 and 10). The optimum temperature for alkaline proteases is 45°C and is stable from 25 to 45°C. The activity was totally inhibited with phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF), additionally the inhibition with trypsin soybean inhibitor 1 (SBT1) and tosyl-lysine-methyl ketone (TLCK) indicate high effect over serine proteases. Eight active bands were found using sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) zymogram (range 17.8-94.0 kDa), which were partially inhibited with ovalbumin (Ovo), SBT1, phenanthroline (Phen), tosyl-phenylalanine-methyl ketone (TPCK), TLCK and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), indicating an omnivorous digestive capacity, which remarks that the mainly alkaline protease in M. carcinus hepatopancreas are trypsin like enzymes.
