Resumen Internet y la popularización de los teléfonos inteligentes en el siglo XXI han dado instantaneidad a la información. La desinformación florece a través de estos medios digitales, pues entre ellos circula poder sobre la política, el mercado, la cultura y la salud. La censura, entendida como la supresión de contenidos y/o suspensión de usuarios en las redes sociales, se ha utilizado como una manera para combatir la desinformación en la Web. Este impulso por 'desinfectar' las redes digitales conlleva riesgos inherentes. En el contexto de la 'infodemia' debe fomentarse la inversión en la educación de los usuarios en torno a los medios digitales. Como metodología, el fenómeno de la desinformación en la Web y los esfuerzos para frenarlo fueron investigados tanto en la literatura científica como en la legislación brasileña. Para combatir la desinformación, el objetivo debe ser educar a los usuarios, ya que confiar esta tarea a terceros podría traer indeseables efectos secundarios. Esto puede verse en el hecho de que, debido a la 'infodemia', las plataformas, los medios tradicionales y los gobiernos han aprovechado para autonombrarse como 'guardianes de la verdad'. Este artículo aborda los impactos sociales de la desinformación y los esfuerzos por suprimir el contenido falso en la Web utilizando las técnicas de minería de texto por MapReduce. El estudio concluye que la desinformación adquiere muchas connotaciones, desde el atractivo humorístico hasta la manipulación. En tanto que la competencia informacional de los usuarios no sea desarrollada, tanto las plataformas como los gobiernos deben contribuir en minimizar los efectos de la desinformación.

Abstract The Internet and the popularization of smartphones in the 21st century have given instantaneity to information. By these same digital means -imbued with the power to influence politics, the market, culture, and health- disinformation blossoms. Censorship, understood as the suppression of content and/or suspension of users on social media, has been used as one way to combat disinformation on the Web. This drive to sanitize digital networks carries inherent risks. In the context of 'Infodemics,' investment in user" s media education should be encouraged. As methodology, the phenomenon of disinformation on the Web and the efforts to curb it were researched in both scientific literature and in Brazilian legislation. To combat disinformation, the users' education (in a sense of enabling them to filter, understand, and interpret the information that they gather) should be the main goal, as entrusting this task to third parties could bring undesirable side effects. Meanwhile, platforms, traditional media, and governments pose as 'Guardians of the Truth.' The social impacts of disinformation and of the efforts to suppress false content on the Web are discoursed in this paper through usage of MapReduce Text Mining. The paper concludes that disinformation takes on many connotations -from humorous appeal to manipulation-. As long as the users' informational competence has not been developed, both the platforms as well as governments must act to minimize the undesirable effects of this phenomenon.

Abstract: It aims to analyze journal self-citation in Ibero-American journals from the h5-index of the Google Scholar Metrics. The bibliometric tool Gsm_hdata was used to identify 4049 Ibero-American journals indexed simultaneously in Latindex and Google Scholar Metrics. Self-citations were identified, self-citation rates by country and research area were calculated, and the h5-index was recalculated without self-citations (hs5-index). No self-citations were identified in almost 40% of the journals, especially those with an h5-index lower than 5. The overall average self-citation rate was 3.6%. Among the 1859 most cited journals with at least one self-citation, the rate was 4.8%, lower than that of research based on the Impact Factor. Journals of Engineering, Exact and Natural Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences had the highest self-citation rates, while Social Sciences and Humanities journals presented the lowest. Journals with excessive rates (outliers) were identified in all areas. These results suggest that the prior exclusion of journal self-citations in the calculation of the h5-index is not necessary. However, monitoring journals with excessive self-citation rates is recommended to avoid distortions in impact assessment procedures based on h5-index of Google Scholar Metrics. Resumo: Este estudo analisa a autocitação de periódicos a partir do índice-h5. Foi utilizada a ferramenta bibliométrica Gsm_hdata para identificar 4049 periódicos ibérico-americanos indexados simultaneamente no Latindex e no Google Scholar Metrics. As autocitações foram identificadas, as taxas de autocitação por país e área de pesquisa foram calculadas e o índice-h5 foi recalculado sem autocitações (índice-hs5). Quase 40% dos periódicos não registraram autocitações, especialmente aqueles com índice-h5 menor que 5. A taxa média geral de autocitação foi de 3,6%. Entre os 1859 periódicos mais citados e com pelo menos uma autocitação, a taxa foi de 4,8%, taxa inferior à de pesquisas baseadas no Fator de Impacto. Periódicos de Engenharia, de Ciências Exatas e Naturais e de Ciências Agrárias apresentaram as maiores taxas de autocitação, enquanto periódicos de Ciências Sociais e Humanas as mais baixas. Abstract The present research intends to create an index of indirect economic (through patent family size and paid renewals) and technological value (forward citations), in order to identify possible innovations among inventions. The novelty of the research lies on the construction of equations reproducible by any field of knowledge, due to their intelligibility. In addition, it details the different steps to create the search database, which comprises free resources, trial versions and personal effort. After the construction of the index and its application, the patent population was divided into quartiles. Quartile 1 possibly houses innovation patents, as it was found that the value indicators assessed go together and relate to each other. Their behavior was shown to be such that, when one is present, there is a higher chance of the others appearing as well. The logical justification for this is that, if an invention has broad market potential, depositors will also protect the patent outside their own country; the most practical way of doing so is the Patent Cooperation Treaty application. Thus, the higher the number of countries where a patent is published and translated, the more likely it is to be cited. And if by then patents prove somehow profitable for their holders, they will continue to pay for renewals on time. Resumo A pesquisa objetiva criar um índice de valor econômico indireto (por meio do tamanho da família de patentes e renovações pagas) e tecnológico (citações recebidas) das patentes com o intuito de identificar possíveis inovações dentre as invenções. O ineditismo da pesquisa recai sobre a construção dos cálculos, os quais qualquer área do conhecimento conseguirá reproduzir, devido a sua inteligibilidade. Além de detalhar as diferentes etapas para criar o banco de dados de pesquisa, o qual foi constituído com recursos disponibilizados de forma gratuita, versão de teste e esforço pessoal. Após a construção do Índice e sua aplicação, a população de patentes foi dividida em quartis. O Quartil 1 possivelmente abriga as patentes de inovação, pois foi constatado que os indicadores de valor avaliados andam junto e se relacionam. Eles exibem um comportamento em que quando um está presente, maiores as chances dos demais também aparecerem. A justifica lógica para tal é que, se uma invenção possui potencial de mercado amplo, o depositante também protegerá a patente fora do país, para isso, a forma mais prática, é a solicitação do Tratado de Cooperação de Patentes. Resumo Este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar artigos publicados em periódicos de acesso aberto cadastrados nos currículos da Plataforma Lattes. Atualmente, os dados curriculares da Plataforma Lattes têm sido fonte de diversos estudos que adotam métricas bibliométricas para compreender a evolução científica no Brasil. Porém, ao registrar uma publicação em um currículo, apenas informações básicas da revista são informadas. Portanto, para quantificar as publicações que foram feitas em periódicos de acesso aberto, é proposta uma estratégia que utiliza dados do Directory of Open Access Journals, validando as publicações e, assim, obtendo um processo que permite identificar quais publicações foram feitas neste formato de comunicação. Com isso, utilizando a metodologia proposta, que possui baixo custo computacional, foi possível quantificar de forma inédita as publicações de brasileiros em periódicos de acesso aberto registradas nos currículos da Plataforma Lattes. Além disso, de posse dos dados dos autores das publicações, foi possível compreender como estes autores estão distribuídos geograficamente no país, quais suas áreas de atuação e como eles têm publicado os resultados de suas pesquisas em acesso aberto. Já com relação as publicações, destaca-se que em geral estão publicadas no idioma Português e Inglês e que ao longo dos últimos anos, a representatividade das publicações em periódicos de acesso aberto vem aumentando.

Abstract This work aims to identify articles published in open access journals registered in the Lattes Platform curricula. Currently, the curricular data from the Lattes Platform has been the source of several studies that adopt bibliometric metrics to understand scientific evolution in Brazil. However, when registering a publication in a curriculum, only basic information from the magazine is informed. Therefore, to quantify the publications made in open access journals, a strategy is proposed that uses data from the Directory of Open Access Journals, validating the publications and, thus, obtaining a process that allows identifying which publications were made in this communication format. Therefore, using the proposed methodology, which has a low computational cost, it was possible to quantify in an unprecedented way the publications of Brazilians in open access journals registered in the curricula of the Lattes Platform. In addition, having the authors’ data of the publications, it was possible to understand how these authors are geographically distributed in the country, what their areas of operation are and how they have published the results of their research in open access. It is noteworthy that they are generally published in Portuguese and English. Over the last few years, the representativeness of publications in open access journals has increased.

Resumo Dados são gerados durante todas as atividades humanas ligadas à tecnologia digital. Atualmente, os dados digitais são uma fonte primária para a geração de pesquisa científica; no entanto, a definição de dados varia entre as diferentes disciplinas e entre os pesquisadores. Nesse contexto, este estudo analisa as principais características da biblioteconomia de dados como um campo especializado da biblioteconomia tradicional, que se preocupa com o uso de dados em bibliotecas. O trabalho está organizado da seguinte forma: primeiro, apresenta uma proposta de diagrama Venn sobre os fundamentos teóricos da biblioteconomia de dados e, depois, aponta o núcleo de habilidades necessárias aos bibliotecários de dados. Com base em uma revisão não exaustiva de literatura, são assinalados os principais tópicos de pesquisa em biblioteconomia de dados. O estudo descreve o significado de dados de pesquisa, seu gerenciamento e curadoria, bem como seus repositórios e, por fim, lista alguns cursos de certificação em biblioteconomia de dados. Conclui-se que a biblioteconomia de dados desempenha um papel dinâmico na aplicação prática das tecnologias de dados em bibliotecas, e que o desenvolvimento profissional, a certificação e o treinamento na área são tarefas interdisciplinares ligadas às tecnologias digitais.

Abstract Data are generated during all human activities related to digital technology. In recent times, scientific research has increasingly opted for digital data as its primary source of data; data definition changes for different disciplines and researchers. In this context, we study the main characteristics of data librarianship as a specialized field of traditional librarianship concerned with data use in libraries. Our work is organized as follows: First, we present a proposed Venn diagram on the theoretical foundations of data librarianship; then, we point out the core skills needed by data librarians. Based on a non-exhaustive literature review, we point out the main topics of research in data librarianship. We describe the significance of research data, data management, data curatorship, and data repositories. Finally, we list a few certification courses in data librarianship. We conclude that data librarianship plays a dynamic role in the practical application of data technologies in libraries, and that professional development, certification, and training in data librarianship are interdisciplinary tasks linked to digital technologies.

Resumo A Química Verde é um movimento auto-organizado de químicos para prevenir e minimizar o uso e a produção de substâncias e processos perigosos. O atual número de publicações e a taxa de crescimento do campo dificultam a análise qualitativa de seu conteúdo, inovações (se houver) e dinâmica, portanto, novas metodologias devem ser estudadas. Esta pesquisa visa ampliar o entendimento sobre a estrutura da Química Verde apontando seus hubs intelectuais (pesquisadores importantes para a difusão e consolidação do conhecimento) e suas autoridades intelectuais, as fontes desse conhecimento. Documentos (N=14.142) contendo o termo “química verde” ou publicados no Green Chemistry Journal e no Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews entre 1990 e 2017 foram analisados por cocitação e análise de rede. Dezesseis clusters foram agrupados em seis grandes especialidades, das quais foram encontrados 14 hubs e 21 autoridades. Os resultados corroboram análises anteriores da área, mas esta pesquisa tem a vantagem de partir da dinâmica da produção científica, e não de categorias qualitativas da própria área previamente definidas.

Abstract Green Chemistry is a self-organized movement of chemists intended to prevent and minimize the use and production of dangerous substances and processes. The current output and growing rate of the field hinders descriptive analysis of its contents, innovations (if any), and dynamics. Therefore, new methodologies must be sought. This research aims at broadening the understanding on the structure of Green Chemistry by pointing out its intellectual hubs (researchers important to the spread and consolidation of knowledge) and its intellectual authorities, the sources of that knowledge. Documents (N=14,142) either containing the term “green chemistry” or published in the Green Chemistry Journal and the Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews between 1990 and 2017 were analyzed by co-citation and network analysis. Sixteen clusters were grouped in six big specialties, from which 14 hubs and 21 authorities were found. Results corroborate previous analyses of the field, but this research has the advantage of stemming from the dynamics of scientific production, rather than from previously defined qualitative categories of the field itself.

RESUMO O objetivo do estudo é identificar de forma estruturada elementos bibliométricos relevantes da produção científica brasileira e internacional no campo da Ciência da Informação dos termos associados “deficiência, acessibilidade e tecnologia assistiva” em Bibliotecas. Justifica-se pela necessidade de desenvolver e sistematizar um corpo teórico coerente e integrado frente às particularidades de cada termo e seu conjunto para gestão da informação. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza teórica, exploratório e bibliográfico na BRAPCI e na LISA, bases representativas da Ciência da Informação entre os anos de 2010 a 2015. Resultou na identificação de que o referencial teórico é escasso, encontra-se relativamente disperso e se concentra mais na produção de três autores nacionais e mais seis internacionais; e dois periódicos nacionais e sete de âmbito internacional que mais publicam sobre o assunto e oportunidades de desenvolvimento teórico e prático do tema na área.

ABSTRACT The objective of the study is to identify a structured way relevant bibliometric elements of Brazilian and international scientific production in the field of Information Science of the associated terms "disability, accessibility and assistive technology" Libraries. Justified by the need to develop and systematize a coherent theoretical framework and integrated, that considers to the particularities of each term for adequate information management. It is a study of theoretical, exploratory and bibliographic nature in BRAPCI and LISA, representative bases of Information Science between the years 2010 to 2015. It resulted in the identification of the theoretical framework is scarce, is relatively dispersed and focuses more on production of three national and six international authors; and two national journals and seven international level and theoretical and practical development opportunities theme in the area.

Resumo O objetivo do presente artigo é investigar a produção científica sobre a relação entre os clusters turismo e tecnologia (TourTech) no fomento do desenvolvimento local até o exercício de 2014 nas bases de dados Business Source Complete da Online Research Databases (EBSCO) e Leisure Tourism Database (CABI). Com uma abordagem mista (qualitativa e quantitativa) a pesquisa fora classificada como descritiva quanto ao seu objetivo e bibliográfica com relação aos procedimentos utilizados. A estratégia adotada para a coleta de dados assume critérios bibliométricos e para análise dos dados aplicou-se a análise de conteúdo. Dentre os resultados, os mais relevantes sinalizaram a existência de algumas possíveis lacunas teóricas a serem ainda desenvolvidas: a relação não só entre clusters de turismo e tecnologia para o desenvolvimento local, mas sim, da relação entre os clusters de turismo e tecnologia e seus impactos para o fomento da inovação em prol do desenvolvimento local e; a relação entre o impacto mútuo causado pelos investimentos nos clusters de turismo e tecnologia individualmente, ou seja, o quanto o desenvolvimento de um cluster impacta no desenvolvimento do outro.

ABSTRACT This paper intends to investigate the scientific literature on the relation between tourism and technology clusters (TourTech) in promoting local development on the databases Business Source Complete of the Online Research Databases (EBSCO) and Leisure Tourism Database (CABI) until the year 2014. With a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), the research is classified as descriptive and bibliographic. The strategy adopted for data collection used bibliometric criteria and the data analysis applied was content analysis. The results showed that there are some possible theoretical gaps to be developed: not only about the conection between tourism clusters and technology clusters for local development, but also the relation between tourism and technology clusters and their impact to promote innovation that can improve the local development and finally, how the investments to develop a cluster individually can impact on the development of the other.

Resumen El objetivo de este trabajo es investigar la producción científica sobre la relación entre los clusters de turismo y de tecnología (TourTech) en la promoción del desarrollo local hasta el año 2014 en dos bases de datos de ámbito internacional, la Business Source Complete de la Online Research Databases (EBSCO) y la Leisure Tourism Database (CABI). Con un enfoque mixto (cualitativa y cuantitativa) la investigación fue clasificada como descriptiva como su objetivo y bibliográfico com respecto a los procedimientos utilizados. La estrategia adoptada para la recogida de datos se lleva a criterios bibliométricos y el análisis de datos aplicados a su contenido. Entre los resultados, los más relevantes señaló la existencia de algunos de las posibles lacunas teóricas todavía a desarrollar: la relación no sólo ocurre entre clusters de turismo y tecnología para el desarrollo local, sino más bien a la relación entre los clusters de turismo y tecnología y su impacto para la promoción de la innovación para el desarrollo local y; la relación entre el impacto mutuo de las inversiones en clusters de turismo y tecnología individual, es decir, cómo el desarrollo de un cluster impacta del desarrollo de el otro.

The aim of the study is to analyze the scientific productivity in South American countries related to Social Network Analysis in accordance with the representation of the countries, institutions, researchers and their theoretical references (citations used in these productions). The present study spans from 1990 to 2013 (31/05/2013). Bibliographical description was used to discover the status of Social Network Analysis in the scientific literature and the quantitative method to analyze publication and citation frequency data using Bibliometrics and Scientometrics. The data was collected from the Web of Science database, refining the data for the countries selected: Argentina n=166; Brazil n=775; Bolivia n=28; Chile n=179; n=78; Colombia n=78; Ecuador n=19; Paraguay n=8; Peru n=33; Uruguay n=21; Venezuela n=48 no articles were published from Guyana, Falkland Islands, Suriname, retrieving a total of 922 scientific articles. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, DetDraw, and CiteSpace were used for the treatment of data. Data showed that Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Peru maintained an especially close relationship with the United States of America. Among the South American countries, the centrality of the network consisted of Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The most outstanding universities were: Universidade de São Paulo, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad Católica de Chile and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, of which all focus on cooperation and enable studies of social network analysis to develop, with the main representatives being: Herrmann, HJ Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule - Switzerland; Carrasco, JA Universidad de Concepción - Chile; Bastos, FI Fundação Oswaldo Cruz - Brazil; Costa, LD Universidade de São Paulo - Brazil; Moll, J Labs D'or Hospital Network - Brazil; Benevenuto, F Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto - Brazil; Gonzalez, MC Universidade Federal de São Paulo - Brazil; Miller, EJ University of Toronto - Canada; Zanette DH Centre Atómico Bariloche - Argentina. This is an exploratory study of metrics application in the archives context, generating performance/quality indicators for decision making. This study aims at debating about how archivometrics should be structured, and focuses on the timeline of metrics studies, covering the culmination, in 1994, of the applicability in the archives along with the evolution of Brazilian experiences on this matter from 2011 on, also working with the statistics of documental processes and archivometrics practices.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi monitorar e obter indicadores sobre a atividade científica desenvolvida no IPEN-CNEN/SP, visível internacionalmente. Utilizou-se como parâmetro os artigos de periódicos registrados na base de dados Web of Science (WoS), nas três últimas décadas. Identificou-se o núcleo de revistas e de autores, o índice de visibilidade, o de colaboração, bem como o crescimento científico. Para análise dos dados, utilizou-se as técnicas bibliométricas e cienciométricas.Pelos resultados obtidos é possível afirmar que o IPEN tem representatividade e visibilidade significativa na WoS.

The main objective of this paper was to monitor and obtain indicators concerning the international visibility of the scientific activities developed in IPEN-CNEN/SP. The articles published along the three decades and registered in the Web of Science (WoS) were used as parameters. It was possible to identify the central journal and author nucleus, index of visibility and collaboration as well as the scientific growth. Scientometric and Bibliometric instruments were used for data analysis. The results obtained confirms a significative IPEN visibility in WoS.

Pesquisa descritiva utilizando como método bibliométrico a análise de citações para determinar e avaliar o consumo de informação na revista Informação & Sociedade: estudos, entre os anos de 2001-2005, usando como material de estudo 1982 referências bibliográficas, coletadas em 103 artigos.

Descriptive research using as bibliometric method the citation analysis to determine and evaluate the consumption of information in the journal Informação & Sociedade: estudos, enter the years of 2001-2005, using an amount of 1982 bibliographical references from the 103 articles.

The construction of maps of social networks is shown based in the Journal of Documentation during the period 1988-2005. The analysis is made by: (i) authors that produce the most within the publication, (ii) authors with the greatest centrality and frequency in quotes received, (iii) the documents with the highest number of citations during the period, and (iv) the journals most used in the consumption of information. 681 entries were retrieved, which were divided into 288 book reviews, 172 journal articles, 14 editorial materials, 12 article reviews, 9 reprints and 2 bibliographic items. The bibliographic information of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) was the original source for the treatment of the data and the program used was CiteSpace, which automatically generates the maps of relationships.

Se estudia la construcción de mapas de redes sociales utilizando como estudio de caso la revista Journal of Documentation en el periodo que va de 1988 al 2005. Se analizan (i) los autores que tienen mayor producción científica dentro de la publicación, (ii) los autores que alcanzan mejor centralidad y la mayor de frecuencia de co-citaciones recibidas, (iii) los documentos que tienen mayor número de citaciones en el periodo, y (iv) las revistas más utilizadas en el consumo de información. Fueron recuperados 681 documentos, divididos en 288 reseñas de libro, 172 artículos de revista, 14 materiales editoriales, 12 revisiones de artículos, 9 reimpresiones y 2 artículos bibliográficos. Mientras que la información bibliográfica del paquete del Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) sirvió como fuente original, para el tratamiento de los datos se utilizó el programa CiteSpace, que genera los mapas de relaciones automáticamente.

The research studies the analysis of used citations by authors who publish inside the Ciência da Informação journal, where were rescued 278 scientific papers between the period 1995 to 2003. Related to the method, an Excel file was used with the aim of quantify the data, and where we divide by genre the bibliographic cites. Quantitative methods of investigation have been applied to analyze the cites of the used journals, working with the impact factors of ISI journals and some of SciELO. Another aspect of the present study was to analyze the books citations, thesis, electronic acts of congresses, electronic documents and communications, which are a fundamental source to make a scientific work. Lately, the relations and de institutional collaboration of authors who publish inside the Ciência da Informação journal were investigated, using Pajek program. Finally we observed the relation between the used keywords by the authors which published in the journal, with the indexed thematic in ISI, Scielo an Latindex. To conclude, we emphasized that the best period of cites used was between 1996 until 1998, with a strong presence of ISI journals and the own Ciencia da informaçao journal.

Esta investigación estudia el análisis de citaciones utilizadas por los autores que publican dentro de la revista Ciência da Informação, de donde fueron recuperados 278 artículos científicos en el periodo de 1995 a 2003. En relación al método, utilizamos un fichero en Excel para cuantificar los datos, donde dividimos por género de citas bibliográficas. Se han aplicado técnicas cuantitativas de investigación para analizar las citas de las revistas utilizadas, trabajando con el factor de impacto de las revistas ISI y algunas del SciELO. Otro aspecto fue analizar las citas de libros, tesis, actas de congresos, documentos electrónicos y comunicaciones, que son una fuente fundamental en la confección de un trabajo científico. Posteriormente se investigaron las relaciones y la colaboración institucional de los autores que publican dentro de la revista Ciência da Informação, utilizando el programa Pajek. Y por fin observamos la relación entre las palabras-clave empleadas por los autores que publicaron en la revista, con las temáticas de revistas indizadas en ISI, SciELO y Latindex. Para las conclusiones, destacamos que el mejor periodo de las citas utilizadas fue de 1996 hasta 1998, con una fuerte presencia de revistas ISI y de la propia revista Ciência da Informação.

Esta pesquisa analisa a produção científica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas durante o período de 1995 a 2002. O corpus do estudo são as pesquisas realizadas pelos docentes dos Programas de Pós-graduação Stricto Sensu, sejam elas produção individual ou produção realizada pelos grupos de pesquisa. Tem como objetivos (i) analisar a vinculação da produção dos docentes da Pós-graduação Stricto Sensu com as linhas de pesquisas e (ii) desenvolver parâmetros para analisar a produção científica institucional. Quanto ao método para o estudo dessa produtividade, adotou-se a cienciometria; utilizou-se a análise quantitativa, cujos resultados foram obtidos através de uma intensa investigação (i) da produção indexada no Currículo Lattes de cada docente e (ii) das atividades realizadas nos grupos de pesquisa. Os parâmetros foram desenvolvidos especificamente para analisar as pesquisas realizadas na PUC-Campinas, não fugindo da realidade da instituição; para tal, as questões trabalhadas foram: (a) a relação da publicação com os propósitos/temática do grupo de pesquisa; (b) a amplitude da pesquisa; (c) o tipo de pesquisa realizada; (d) a veiculação das pesquisas; (e) a análise da produtividade individual de cada docente. Os resultados do estudo indicam um crescimento no número de pesquisas publicadas durante o período estudado (1995/2002), Em todos os pontos a evolução foi evidente, com números surpreendentes, mesmo considerando-se os números modestos na produção docente de artigos em periódicos (499 artigos), com exceção do número maior relativo aos docentes da Pós-graduação em Psicologia. Os resultados indicam que as atividades de pesquisa científica nas áreas de pós-graduação são relevantes e têm um significado social capaz de justificar a existência de tais Programas, a sua preservação e o seu desenvolvimento futuro.

This research analyses the scientific production of faculty members at the Graduate Programs (Strictu Sensus) of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas during the period of 1995 to 2002. The study took into account, each individual's production, as well as the production carried through research groups. The objectives were (i) to analyze the connections of the graduate faculty production with lines of research; (ii) and to develop parameters to analyze the institutional scientific production. The method adopted to study the scientific productivity was the scientometrics, which entailed a quantitative analysis resulting from intense investigations of (i) the production index of each faculty's Lattes Curriculum, and (ii) the activities carried on in the research groups. The analysis parameters were specifically developed to examine the research produced at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas, considering the institution's reality; thus, the tasks to be performed were (a) to relate the publication with the proposal/thematic of the research group; and to analyze (b) the research's breadth, (c) the research's type, (d) the research's dissemination, and (e) faculty member's individual productivity. The results indicated relative growth in the studied period; evolution was evident, given the overall surprising numbers, and in spite of the low numbers of articles published in periodicals (499 articles), exception made to the higher number produced by faculty of the Graduate Program in Psychology. In conclusion, this research demonstrates the excellence of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas Graduate Programs, whose relevant results in scientific research, with their social meaning, justify not only the existence and preservation of such Programs, but also their near future development.
