Abstract Objective Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) affect approximately 10% of children worldwide and are related to psychosocial manifestations and compromised quality of life, both for children and their families. The assessment of emotional conditions of LUTS in children is recommended by International Children's Continence Society; however, there is no specific instrument in the Brazilian Portuguese language. Therefore, the aim of this study was to translate, culturally adapt and assess the internal consistency of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the Pediatric Incontinence Questionnaire (PINQ). Material and methods This cross-sectional study was performed at two referral centers for childhood voiding dysfunction. The 20-item PINQ was translated into Brazilian Portuguese and culturally adapted according to Beaton, 2000. His-standard methodology consists of 6 phases: translation, synthesis, back-translation, expert committee, and pre-test. The internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha. Results The PINQ-br version was developed, validated by a committee of experts, and pre-tested on 44 children diagnosed with lower urinary tract symptoms, 23 boys and 21 girls (mean age: 9.7 and 9.6 years old respectively), as well as on their parents. The internal consistency was considered satisfactory, reaching Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.74 when applied to children and 0.82 when applied to parents. Conclusions The PINQ was translated and culturally adapted to Brazilian Portuguese to assess the impact of LUTS on the health-related quality of life in Brazilian children and adolescents.

ABSTRACT What do children say about this broad social and cultural world affected by covid-19? What feelings and utopias have children from Rio de Janeiro experienced? These are questions that guided our research, carried out in 2021, when we interviewed 73 children, between 4 and 12 years old, living in the state capital and metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro. The research involved five groups, linked to two public universities in the region, and we opted for the familiarity network technique in order to reach the children. The results indicate that the children operated their feelings in the present time, as a way of understanding reality and imagining futures to nurture utopia while recording what substantiates all that has already been lived.

RESUMO O que contam as crianças desse amplo mundo social e cultural acometido pela covid-19? Que sentimentos e utopias crianças fluminense vivenciaram? São perguntas que orientaram nossa pesquisa, realizada no ano de 2021, quando entrevistamos 73 crianças, de 4 a 12 anos, moradoras da capital e Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. A pesquisa envolveu 5 grupos de pesquisa, vinculados a duas universidades públicas da região, e optamos pela técnica de rede de familiaridade para chegar até as crianças. Os resultados indicam que as crianças operaram seus sentimentos no tempo presente, como uma forma de compreender a realidade e de imaginar futuros para fertilizar a utopia enquanto se registra o que substancia o já vivido.

RESUMO Este texto apresenta o Departamento de Estudos da Infância (Dedi), vinculado à Faculdade de Educação (EDU) da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Uerj). Criado em 2005, o Dedi é o único departamento universitário, no Brasil, estruturado a partir do campo dos Estudos da Infância, e, por essa razão, oferece uma perspectiva para problematizar os lugares da infância nessa instituição de ensino superior, isto é, se o tema da infância historicamente já se fazia presente no tripé ensino-pesquisa-extensão, sua criação deslocou tal temática também para o campo da gestão universitária, dado que a infância torna-se um eixo para as políticas internas da instituição. Que concepções de infância se colocam em pauta quando uma universidade pública propõe um departamento com essa especificidade? Que diálogos esse lugar institucional tece com as epistemologias e as políticas de educação, cultura e de reconhecimento de direitos para as crianças? O texto apresenta um histórico da construção e das transformações institucionais desse departamento trazidas em diálogo com a legislação e reformas curriculares que aconteceram ao longo de sua existência e com conhecimento teórico produzido acerca da infância nos diferentes campos da cultura, ciência, educação e das políticas públicas.

ABSTRACT This article presents the Departamento Estudos da Infância (Dedi) - Department of Childhood Study – of the School of Education (EDU) of Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Uerj), only in Brazil specifically in the field of childhood, and it problematizes the spaces of childhood in this institution. What are the childhood concepts used when a university creates and keeps a department with this specificity? What policies, beyond the classic tripod teaching-research-outreach, are drawn when the theme childhood becomes present in a public university? What dialogues does this institutional place organize with policies of education, culture, epistemologies, and recognition of children’s rights? The text tries to unveil and reconstruct the institutional transformations that created this department that treats the childhood and children, dialoguing with the curricular reforms since the last decade and the transformations of the childhood theme in the different fields of culture, science, education, and public policies.

RESUMEN Son muy raros y esporádicos los hallazgos de neoplasia maligna cardiaca primaria, entre éstos se encuentra el rabdomiosarcoma. Es una neoplasia mesenquimal, cuyo diagnóstico se realiza a través de estudios imagenológicos y la confirmación anatomopatológica. Por su infrecuencia no existe un estándar de tratamiento preciso y protocolizado a nivel nacional y mundial. Se presenta el caso de un paciente joven, de sexo masculino con síntomas de disnea, pérdida de peso y dolor precordial; se constata un tumor, probable mixoma por ecocardiografía y se diagnostica rabdomiosarcoma embrionario con la histología obtenida tras la exéresis tumoral en el Hospital Central de IPS.

ABSTRACT Findings of primary cardiac malignant neoplasia are very rare and sporadic, among these is rhabdomyosarcoma. It is a mesenchymal neoplasm, whose diagnosis is made through imaging studies and pathological confirmation. Due to its infrequency, there is no precise and protocolized treatment standard at a national and global level. We present the case of a young male patient with symptoms of dyspnea, weight loss and precordial pain; a tumor is confirmed, probable myxoma by echocardiography and embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma is diagnosed with the histology obtained after tumor exeresis at the IPS Central Hospital.

Abstract The cultivar BRS Avai was originated from recurrent phenotypic selection in the original American cultivar Tabasco Macllhenny™, used in the worldly famous Tabasco pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) sauce. The determination of the aroma profile of this new cultivar could reveal important qualitative descriptors that will help in future crosses and in the improvement of the desirable characteristics. Headspace solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and gas chromatography-olfactometry techniques were used to analyze the volatile compounds from a new Brazilian cultivar, estimating the most powerful odor-active compounds. In the volatile fraction of BRS Avai pepper, esters were the predominant chemical class and major compounds were isohexyl and hexyl esters. Thirty-five odorants were detected and sixteen were considered as having moderate to high intensity, with hexyl 2-methylbutanoate, α-pinene, hexyl butanoate and hexyl 3-methylbutanoate contributing the most to the typical sweet, herbal and pepper-like aroma of this cultivar.

The Amazonian Rubiaceae species Uncaria guianensis (UG) is locally used as anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antidiabetic, anti-ulcers, and others. The phenolic content of its leaves is characterized by the great predominance of the flavonoid kaempferol-3,7-O-(α)-L-dirhamnoside (kaempferitrin). The present study quantitatively evaluates the kaempferitrin content in the leaves and branches of cultivated and wild UG specimens collected in different locations of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest by employing high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a diode array detector (HPLC-DAD). Besides, the understanding of the polyphenol profile performed by electron spray ionization is deepened by tandem mass spectrometry analysis (ESI-MS/MS), using a previously approached leaf UG extract, and the flavonoid quercetin-3,7-O-(α)-L-dirhamnoside was first isolated from UG. All samples showed quite similar qualitative polyphenol profiles. Kaempferitrin in UG ranged from 1.1 to 1.9 mg 100 mg-1 for dry leaves of adult wild plants, 0.3 to 0.7 mg 100 mg-1 for dry leaves of cultivated young plants and 0.00 to 0.04 mg 100 mg-1 for dry branches of adult wild plants. Besides suggesting the distribution of kaempferitrin in the species, these results reinforce this flavonol as a suitable chemical marker for UG leaves and the products derived from them.

RESUMO Este texto busca problematizar as imagens de crianças que circulam em vídeos on-line, propagando-se numa escala vertiginosa conceituada como viral. Que imagens de infância circulam? O que faz da criança uma imagem que viraliza? Que alteridade pauta a relação entre a criança que é filmada e aqueles que a filmam? Que ética baliza a produção e a circulação desses vídeos? Para enfrentar tais questões, trazemos uma discussão sobre vídeos virais que circulam nas redes e, mais amiúde, a análise crítica de dois vídeos para, a partir deles, buscar elementos para a construção de um agir responsável.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this text is to question images of children that circulate in online videos, which are spreading on the dizzying scale conceptualized as viral. What childhood images circulate online? What makes the child become a viral image? What alterity guides the relationship between the children who are filmed and those filming them? What ethics marks the production and circulation of such videos? To address these issues, we bring a discussion about viral videos that circulate in networks, and critically analyze two of such videos, seeking elements for the construction of a responsible action.

Resumo: Este texto tem por objetivo problematizar a relevância do tema na atividade de pesquisa, mais especificamente, na construção da metodologia. As Ciências Humanas e Sociais são ciências discursivas e a voz dos interlocutores - o pesquisador e a criança - têm ocupado a centralidade na construção metodológica. A proposta deste texto é ampliar esse debate deslocando o foco para um terceiro elemento crucial na constituição dessa alteridade e que, muitas vezes, é pensado de forma apartada da metodologia: o tema. A problematização é feita a partir da análise de cinco pesquisas do campo interdisciplinar dos estudos da infância e assenta-se na filosofia da Linguagem de Walter Benjamin e do círculo de Mikhail Bakhtin e Valentin Volochnov.

Abstract: The following text discusses the relevance of the subject in the research activity, specifically when the construction of a methodology is concerned considering that Human and Social Studies are indeed discursive science and the interlocutors’ voices - researcher and child - have been central to methodological construction. The text purpose is to broaden such debate, shifting the focus to a third crucial element in this otherness constitution that, very often, is considered apart from the methodology: the topic. The discussion is made from the analysis of five researches in the interdisciplinary field of childhood studies and based on philosophy of the language by Walter Benjamin and also Mikhail Bakhtin and Valentin Volochnov’s circle.

Resumo: Introdução: Em janeiro de 2020, a OMS reconheceu a pandemia do novo coronavírus no mundo, chegando os casos ao Brasil em fevereiro e ao Acre em março. Uma das respostas para enfrentamento da pandemia no estado foi o telemonitoramento dos casos suspeitos e confirmados de Covid-19, que se viabilizou a partir da parceria entre o Núcleo Telessaúde Acre, as Secretarias de Saúde e os cursos Medicina da Universidade Federal do Acre (Ufac) e do Centro Universitário Uninorte. O objetivo do artigo é relatar a experiência do projeto de ensino de apoio ao telemonitoramento dos casos de covid-19 em Rio Branco. Relato de experiência: O telemonitoramento tem sido realizado por uma equipe composta de 210 alunos de Medicina dos últimos períodos do curso e por um grupo de oito professores. Atenta às necessidades de fortalecimento das ações de enfrentamento do novo coronavírus, a Pró-Reitoria de Graduação da Ufac lançou um edital para projetos de ensino que pudessem cumprir esse papel social por meio da sistematização de conhecimentos sobre o tema. Discussão: A partir daí, o projeto foi executado através de reuniões virtuais sistemáticas da equipe executora do telemonitoramento pela plataforma Zoom, com discussões dos casos acompanhados, de rodas de conversa com especialistas sobre temas clínicos específicos, apresentação de artigos, discussão de dados epidemiológicos e aulas expositivas sobre a Covid-19. Além disso, têm sido articulados trabalhos de conclusão de curso a partir dos dados trabalhados na estratégia. Conclusão: Apesar do desafio que é trabalhar a partir do ensino remoto, o projeto tem contribuído de maneira substancial para o aprofundamento dos conhecimentos sobre a pandemia de Covid-19 e para o acompanhamento dos casos em Rio Branco.

Abstract: Introduction: In January 2020, the WHO recognized the new Coronavirus pandemic, reaching Brazil in February, and the state of Acre in March. One of the actions employed to tackle the pandemic in Acre is the telemonitoring of suspected and confirmed Covid-19 cases, enabled though a partnership between the Acre Telehealth Center, the Health Departments and the two local medical courses. The purpose of this article is to report the experience of the teaching project to support telemonitoring of Covid-19 cases in Rio Branco. Experience report: The telemonitoring was performed by a team of 210 final year medical student and a group of eight professors. Aware of the need to strengthen actions to tackle the new Coronavirus, the UFAC central administration issued a public notice for teaching projects that could fulfill this social role by systematizing knowledge on the subject. Discussion: The project has been carried out through systematic virtual meetings of the telemonitoring executive team on the Zoom platform, with discussions of the monitored cases, discussions with specialists on specific clinical topics, the presentation of articles, discussion of epidemiological data and lectures on Covid-19. Furthermore, course conclusion papers have been developed based on the telemonitoring data. Conclusion: Despite the challenge of working through distance learning, the project has contributed substantially to deepening knowledge about the Covid-19 pandemic and to monitoring cases in Rio Branco.

RESUMO Objetivo: relatar a experiência dos dez anos de implementação do Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Hospitalar no Complexo Hospital de Clínicas da Universidade Federal do Paraná. Desenvolvimento: reporte de experiencia de los diez años de implementación del programa de residencia. Los datos se obtuvieron de documentos internos e informes de coordinadores y tutores. Se capacitó a trescientos setenta y dos profesionales. Entre los avances del programa, cabe destacar el incremento en el número de vacantes y especialidades, la consolidación del Reglamento Interno, la gestión computarizada de la información académica, el incentivo a la investigación y el mejoramiento de la asistencia en el ámbito hospitalario. Considerações finais: los diez años del programa estuvieron marcados por el desafío de deconstruir la mirada uniprofesional de un proyecto que contempló la diversidad de múltiples profesiones, propiciando la construcción de nuevos paradigmas, la transformación de prácticas profesionales, el desarrollo de habilidades de trabajo en equipo, la integración enseñanza-trabajo y avance en la formación.

ABSTRACT Objective: to report the experience of the ten years since the implementation of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Hospital Care at the Clinical Hospital Complex of the Federal University of Paraná. Development: an experience report on the ten years since the implementation of the residency program. The data were collected from internal documents and from the coordinators’ and preceptors’ reports. Three hundred and seventy-two professionals were trained. Among the advances of the program, the increase in the number of vacancies and specialties, consolidation of the Internal Regulations, computerized management of the Academic information, incentive to research, and improvement of the assistance provided in the hospital environment stand out. Final Considerations: the ten years of the program were marked by the challenge of deconstructing the uniprofessional perspective towards a project that contemplated the diversity of the multiple professions, providing the construction of new paradigms, transformation of the professional practices, development of teamwork skills, teaching-service integration, and advancement in training.

RESUMEN Objetivo: relatar la experiencia de los diez años de implementación del Programa de Residencia Multiprofesional en Atención Hospitalaria en el Complejo Hospital de Clínicas de la Universidad Federal de Paraná. Desarrollo: estudio descriptivo y transversal, realizado en el año 2019 con 100 adultos mayores en un hospital público de Paraíba – Brasil. Se utilizó un instrumento semiestructurado y el Índice de Barthel, y los diagnósticos se listaron a partir de la clasificación CIPE®. Para el análisis de los dados se utilizó estadística descriptiva. Conclusión: los diagnósticos identificados proporcionan apoyos para planificar e implementar medidas de atención de Enfermería con vistas a reducir los tiempos de hospitalización, previniendo así consecuencias desfavorables para la salud y garantizando asistencia integral e individualizada para la población.

Resumo Objetivo: Avaliar lesões hepáticas de acordo com a classificação LI-RADS nas tomografias computadorizadas de pacientes com hepatite B, co-infectados ou não com vírus delta, e com hepatite C crõnica, e o grau de concordância entre os radiologistas. Materiais e Métodos: Foram incluídos 38 pacientes com hepatite B, co-infectados ou não com vírus delta, e/ou com hepatite C crônica, que realizaram tomografia computadorizada. Dois radiologistas selecionaram até três lesões hepáticas classificadas pelo LI-RADS e avaliaram sinais de hepatopatia crônica e de hipertensão portal. Foi utilizado o teste kappa (κ) para avaliar o grau de concordância entre os radiologistas. Resultados: Foram selecionadas 56 observações pelo radiologista 1 e 48 pelo radiologista 2. Verificou-se que 71% e 61% dos pacientes apresentaram pelo menos uma observação hepática, segundo o radiologista 1 e o radiologista 2, respectivamente. Dos 38 pacientes, 13 (34%), segundo o radiologista 1, e 12 (32%), segundo o radiologista 2, apresentaram observações LI-RADS 5 (κ = 0,821). Hipervascularização foi detectada em 50% e 42% dos pacientes (κ = 0,668), esplenomegalia em 79% e 63% (κ = 0,503) e sinais de hepatopatia crônica em 82% (κ = 1,00), segundo o radiologista 1 e o radiologista 2, respectivamente. Conclusão: Detectaram-se, aproximadamente, 32% de observações LI-RADS 5 nos pacientes, com concordância quase perfeita entre os radiologistas. Houve concordância substancial/moderada entre as demais categorias LI-RADS.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate liver lesions, in accordance with the LI-RADS classification, using contrast-enhanced multiphase dynamic computed tomography in patients with hepatitis B, coinfected or not with hepatitis D, or with chronic hepatitis C, as well as to determine the level of agreement between radiologists. Materials and Methods: We evaluated 38 patients with hepatitis B, coinfected or not with hepatitis D, or with chronic hepatitis C, all of whom underwent contrast-enhanced multiphase dynamic computed tomography. For each examination, two radiologists selected up to three hepatic lesions, categorizing them in accordance with the LI-RADS classification and evaluating signs of chronic liver disease and portal hypertension. To determine the level of agreement between radiologists, we calculated the kappa statistic (κ) . Results: Radiologist 1 and radiologist 2 selected 56 and 48 liver lesions, respectively. According to radiologist 1 and radiologist 2, respectively, 27 (71%) and 23 (61%) of the 38 patients had at least one liver lesion; 13 (34%) and 12 (32%) had a LI-RADS 5 lesion (κ = 0.821); 19 (50%) and 16 (42%) had a hypervascular lesion (κ = 0.668); and 30 (79%) and 24 (63%) had splenomegaly (κ = 0.503). Both radiologists identified chronic liver disease in 31 (82%) of the patients (κ = 1.00). Conclusion: Lesions categorized as LI-RADS 5 were detected in approximately 32% of the patients, with almost perfect agreement between the radiologists. The level of agreement was substantial or moderate for the other LI-RADS categories.

Our study aimed at the development of a method based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-MS) using selected ion monitoring for the simultaneous quantitation of the alkaloids galantamine, pseudolycorine, sanguinine and narciclasine in Amaryllidaceae species (Hippeastrum elegans, Habranthus cf. irwinianus, Hymenocallis littoralis and Griffinia nocturna). The alkaloids were extracted from dried and ground bulbs (100 mg) using liquid-liquid microextraction followed by solid phase extraction in cation exchange cartridges. The quantification method showed good linearity (correlation coefficient, R ≥ 0.9968) and selectivity for a run time of 10 min. All values were within the acceptable limits for recovery (87.5-96.2%), interday (coefficient of variation, CV%, 1.3-8.4%) and intraday precision (CV% 5.7-8.1%), except narciclasine (70%). The limits of detection and quantification were 5-100 and 20-350 ng mL-1, respectively. Our method demonstrated to be rapid, sensitive and reliable, therefore appropriate for being employed in the prospection of new source of galantamine and other alkaloids.

Abstract Purpose To develop 3D anatomical models, and corresponding radiographs, of canine jaw fractures. Methods A base model was generated from a mandibular bone scan. With this model it was possible to perform fracture planning according to the anatomical location. Results The 3D base model of the canine mandible was similar in conformation to the natural bone, demonstrating structures such as canine tooth crowns, premolars and molars, mental foramina, body of the mandible, ramus of the mandible, masseteric fossa, the coronoid process, condylar process, and angular process. It was not possible to obtain detail of the crown of the incisor teeth, mandibular symphysis, and the medullary channel. Production of the 3D CJF model took 10.6 h, used 150.1 g of filament (ABS) and cost US$5.83. Conclusion The 3D canine jaw fractures models, which reproduced natural canine jaw fractures, and their respective radiographic images, are a possible source of educational material for the teaching of veterinary medicine.

Este artigo relata o processo de reformulação curricular do Curso de Terapia Ocupacional da Universidade Federal do Paraná ocorrido no período de 2013 a 2016. As justificativas para a reformulação foram: a necessidade de alinhamento com as atuais políticas públicas nacionais e os parâmetros nacionais e internacionais para formação profissional. O processo ocorreu de modo participativo e problematizador, culminando em uma matriz curricular delineada por eixos e ênfases específicas, com 3.305 horas distribuídas em cinco anos. A proposta pedagógica contempla a diversidade teórico-prática e didático-metodológica dos docentes. Consideraram-se também: a especificidade da formação em período noturno, o perfil dos estudantes ingressantes, a necessidade de redução nos índices de retenção e evasão, e as mudanças no mercado de trabalho. O desafio agora é a implantação gradativa e a avaliação continuada do novo currículo, de modo a garantir a formação esperada.

This article describes the process of curricular reformulation of the Occupational Therapy Course of the Federal University of Paraná that took place between 2013 and 2016. The reasons for the reformulation were the need to adapt to current national public policies and national and international parameters for professional education. The process was based on a participatory and problem-raising methodology, culminating in a curricular matrix defined by specific axes and emphases, with 3,305 hours distributed over five years. The pedagogical proposal took into account the theoretical-practical and didactic-methodological diversity of professors. It also considered the specificity of evening classes, the profile of entry-level students, the need to reduce retention and dropout rates, and changes in the labor market. The current challenge is the gradual implementation and ongoing evaluation of the new curriculum to ensure the expected education.

Este artículo relata el proceso de reformulación curricular del Curso de Terapia Ocupacional de la Universidad Federal de Paraná realizado en el período de 2013 a 2016. Las justificativas para la reformulación fueron la necesidad de alineamiento con las actuales políticas públicas nacionales y los parámetros nacionales e internacionales para formación profesional. El proceso ocurrió de forma participativa y de problematización, culminando en una matriz curricular delineada por ejes y énfasis específicos, con 3.305 horas distribuidas en cinco años. La propuesta pedagógica incluye la diversidad teórico-práctica y didáctico-metodológica de los docentes. También se consideró la especificidad de la formación en período nocturno, el perfil de los estudiantes entrantes, la necesidad de reducción en los índices de retención y evasión y los cambios en el mercado de trabajo. Ahora, el desafío es la implantación gradual y la evaluación continuada del nuevo currículo, para garantizar la formación esperada.
