Resumo Este trabalho é dedicado ao estudo da ligação entre o pilar e a fundação por meio de cálice externo em estruturas de concreto pré-moldadas. Apresenta-se um estudo paramétrico envolvendo as características geométricas que influenciam no consumo de concreto e principalmente do aço em ligações com interface lisa. As variáveis consideradas são a seção transversal do pilar, o comprimento de embutimento do pilar no cálice e a espessura da parede do cálice. Observa-se que o aumento do comprimento de embutimento diminui a seção transversal mínima de armadura horizontal principal, o que torna as paredes perpendiculares a atuação dos esforços solicitantes mais frágeis. Além do estudo paramétrico, este trabalho também apresenta um modelo de verificação que mostra a possibilidade da geração de ábacos que facilite tanto o projeto de cálices de fundação quanto uma análise comparativa.

Abstract This work studies the column-base connection by external socket in precast structures. A parametric study of the geometric characteristics of the external socket base with smooth interface is presented. In this parametric study, the consumption of concrete and steel are analyzed. The column cross section, the embedded length of the column in the socket base and the thickness of the wall of the socket base were the variables considered in this study. It was observed that with the increase of the embedded length, the minimum cross section of the main horizontal reinforcement reduces. With this modification, the walls of the socket base that are perpendicular to the direction of the applied loads presented a reduction of their stiffness. Besides the parametric study, this paper presents a verification model. This part of the study shows the possibility to generate abacuses that simplifies the project of the socket base foundation. Moreover, a comparative analysis becomes easier to be accomplished

Os resultados obtidos a partir de ensaios de estruturas ou de peças estruturais em laboratório são limitados e, às vezes, de difícil interpretação. Dessa forma, o desenvolvimento de modelos numérico-matemáticos se faz necessário para complementar a análise experimental e possibilitar a generalização dos resultados para diferentes estruturas e tipos de carregamento. Este artigo faz dois estudos computacionais de problemas de estruturas de concreto armado encontrados na literatura, utilizando o Método dos Elementos Finitos. Nas análises, o concreto é simulado com o modelo clássico de dano proposto por Mazars e o aço por um modelo constitutivo elastoplástico bilinear. Os resultados numéricos mostram a validade da aplicação de modelos constitutivos que consideram o acoplamento de teorias com a técnica de discretização por elementos finitos na simulação do comportamento de estruturas lineares e bi-dimensionais em concreto armado.

The experimental results of testing structures or structural parts are limited and, sometimes, difficult to interpret. Thus, the development of mathematical-numerical models is needed to complement the experimental analysis and allow the generalization of results for different structures and types of loading. This article makes two computational studies of reinforced concrete structures problems found in the literature, using the Finite Element Method. In these analyses, the concrete is simulated with the damage classical model proposed by Mazars and the steel by a bilinear elastoplastic constitutive model. Numerical results show the validity of the application of constitutive models which consider the coupling of theories with the technique of finite element discretization in the simulation of linear and two-dimensional reinforced concrete structures.

A utilização de estruturas mistas está cada vez mais presente nas obras de Engenharia Civil. As vigas mistas, em particular, são estruturas compostas por dois materiais, um perfil metálico, situado em região predominantemente tracionada, e uma seção de concreto, situada em região predominantemente comprimida, ligados entre si através de dispositivos metálicos denominados de conectores de cisalhamento. As funções prin- cipais dos conectores são: permitir o trabalho solidário da laje-viga, restringir o escorregamento longitudinal e o deslocamento vertical na interface dos elementos e, absorver forças de cisalhamento. Nesse contexto, apresentam-se neste trabalho, modelos numéricos tridimensionais de vigas mistas aço-concreto, com a finalidade de simular o seu comportamento estrutural, enfatizando a interface laje-viga. As simulações foram feitas através do software ANSYS versão 10.0, que tem como base o Método de Elementos Finitos. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados com os previstos por norma e com referências encontradas na revisão bibliográfica, verificando-se que a modelagem numérica é uma ferramenta válida para a análise de vigas mistas aço-concreto.

The use of composite structures is increasingly present in the constructions of Civil Engineering. Steel-concrete composite beams, in particular, are structures consisting of two materials, a profile metal, located in predominantly region of tension, and a section of concrete, located predomi- nantly in compressed region, connected by metallic devices called shear connectors. The main functions of the connectors are: allow the joint work of slab-beam, restrict the longitudinal slipping and uplifting at the interface of the elements, and absorb shear forces. In this context, this work presents three-dimensional numerical models of composite steel-concrete beams, in order to simulate their structural behavior, with emphasis at the slab-beam interface. Simulations had been carried out by means of the ANSYS software, version 10.0, based on Finite Element Method. Results were compared with those provided by Standard Codes and with references found in the literature. Reported results demonstrate that the numerical approach is a valid tool to analyze the behavior of steel-concrete composite beams.

Studies were done to evaluate comparatively the traditional HA assay and a more recently introduced lectin-neuraminidase (LN) methodologyin search of a simple and sensitive assay for virus detection during laboratorial diagnosis. The results proved the value of LN assay as a sensitive methodologyfor detection of virus particles, presenting results at least equal to those obtained by HA (hemagglutination) assay, with significant values of accumulated frequencies for LN/HA factors (ratios between LN and HA titers) higher than two. The accumulated values of frequencies for LN/HA factors as high as four were very significant, 72.7 (per cent) for influenzavirus and 60.7 (per cent) for Newcastle disease virus (NDV), moreover accumulated frequencies for LN/HA factors even as high as 32 were due to influenzavirus (45.4 per cent) and NDV (7.2 per cent) samples. After the storage period, most of those concentraded samples that even did not present HA titers could be detected through LN assay, demonstrating a lower threshold for virus detection.

Vinte e um casos de molusco contagioso foram escolhidos para serem analisados por testes sorológicos e de microscopia eletrônica. O vírus do molusco foi detectado nas crostas e observados também nos vacúolos formados dentro dos queratinócitos. Os pacientes desenvolveram anticorpos fixadores do complemento para o vírus.

Twenty one cases of molluscum contagiosum virus disease were collected for electron microscopical and serological tests. Molluscum virus was detected in the crust, inside the vacuoles formed in the keratinocytes cells. The patients developed specific antibodies to the virus detected by complement fixation test.
