ABSTRACT Based on the current scenario of accelerating social changes that reflect on the educational context, the discussion on the factors that might influence the quality of life (QOL) of Physical Education teachers is important. With the purpose of evaluating the association between QOL and sociodemographic characteristics, questionnaires on socio-demographic data and quality of life (WHOQOL-bref) were applied to 298 Physical Education teachers of Basic Education in Grande Florianópolis mesoregion, state of Santa Cantarina, Brazil. The Chi-square, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Wallis tests with Dunn’s post hoc method (p <0.05) were used for data analysis. The Physical Education teachers showed regular scores related to the general QOL; higher values for the social relations domain and lower ones for the physical domain. Some characteristics, such as sex, vital cycles, length of service in the school system, work shift, population number and the Human Development Index (HDI) of the municipalities were correlated with general QOL, as well as with the physical, psychological and environmental domains. RESUMO A discussão sobre os fatores que podem influenciar a qualidade de vida (QV) de professores de Educação Física é importante no cenário atual de transformações sociais acelaradas que refletem no contexto educacional. Com o objetivo de verificar a associação entre QV e características sociodemográficas, aplicou-se questionários de dados sociodemográficos e de qualidade de vida (Whoqol-bref) a 298 professores de Educação Física da educação básica da região da Grande Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brasil. Utilizou-se no tratamento de dados, os testes Qui-quadrado, Mann-Whitney e Kruskal Wallis, com post hoc de Dunn (p<0,05). Os professores de Educação Física apresentaram escores regulares na QV geral, maiores valores de escores no domínio das relações sociais e menores valores no domínio físico. RESUMEN El objetivo fue correlacionar la satisfacción en el trabajo y la calidad de vida de 297 maestros de Educación Física. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron los cuestionarios sociodemográficos, QVT-PEF y WHOQOL-bref, utilizando las pruebas de correlación de Friedman y Spearman. Los resultados indicaron una correlación positiva y significativa en la comparación interna, tanto para la satisfacción laboral como para la calidad de vida. ABSTRACT The objective was to correlate job satisfaction and quality of life of 297 Physical Education teachers. RESUMO A docência no Ensino Superior exige o envolvimento em diversas funções que podem afetar a percepção de qualidade de vida desta classe de trabalhadores. O estudo buscou determinar os perfis de qualidade de vida de professores de Educação Física do Ensino Superior e associá-los às suas características pessoais e profissionais. Participaram 93 professores da mesorregião da Grande Florianópolis. Utilizou-se um questionário de caracterização e o Whoqol-bref e empregou-se análise de Clusters, método Ward e testes Kruskal Wallis, Friedman e Qui-Quadrado. Identificou-se três grupos de professores: Grupo I apresentou percepção mais negativa e escores menores em todo constructo da qualidade de vida (sem vínculos com a extensão); Grupo II revelou percepção mais positiva e escores mais elevados da qualidade de vida (coordenadores de ações extensionistas); Grupo III apresentou percepção regular da avaliação geral e dos domínios físico e psicológico e escores intermediários quando comparados aos demais Grupos (colaboradores da extensão universitária).

ABSTRACT Teaching in Higher Education requires involvement in several roles that can affect perceived quality of life within this class of workers. This study sought to determine the quality of life profiles of Physical Education professors and to associate them with their personal and professional characteristics. A total of 93 professors from the Greater Florianópolis mesoregion participated. A profiling questionnaire and the Whoqol-bref were used, in addition to Cluster analysis, the Ward method, and the Kruskal-Wallis, Friedman’s and Chi-Square tests. Three groups of professors were identified: Group I had a more negative perception and lower scores in the whole quality of life construct (no involvement in extension); Group II had a more positive perception and higher quality of life scores (extension program coordinators); Group III had a regular perception of the overall assessment and of the physical and psychological domains, and intermediate scores compared to the other Groups (university extension collaborators).

Resumo Objetivou-se analisar a relação entre a qualidade de vida, a fadiga e as lesões em bailarinos brasileiros profissionais de dança de salão. RESUMO Os contextos de prática esportiva são importantes elementos que influenciam na formação esportiva de crianças e jovens. Assim, o objetivo desse estudo foi analisar os contextos de prática esportiva de atletas de elite do voleibol brasileiro, a partir da verificação dos locais de prática e de variáveis sociodemográficas (sexo, estágio da formação esportiva, categoria de formação) que pudessem influenciar na inserção a esses ambientes. Participaram desse estudo retrospectivo 121 atletas, integrantes e ex-integrantes das seleções brasileiras nos naipes masculino e feminino. Os dados foram coletados a partir do Instrumento de Análise da Formação Esportiva no Voleibol (IAFEV) e analisados pela estatística descritiva (frequência bruta e relativa) e inferencial (Regressão Logística Multinomial). Os resultados revelaram associação significativa dos locais de prática com o sexo [X2(3)=8.387;p=0,039], os estágios [X2(6)=52.709;p<0,001) e as categorias de formação [X2(9)=22.297;p=0,008], evidenciando-se que os atletas investigados praticavam, ao longo de sua formação esportiva, as atividades físicas e esportivas em ambientes mais estruturados, como clubes e academias, principalmente durante os anos de especialização e de investimento. Além disso, a prática nos clubes destacou-se entre as atletas do sexo feminino e entre os atletas pertencentes às categorias mais jovens, revelando aspectos específicos que podem influenciar na escolha dos ambientes de prática.

ABSTRACT The contexts of sports practice are important elements that influence the sports development of children and young people. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the contexts of sports practice of elite Brazilian volleyball athletes, based on the verification of practice contexts and sociodemographic variables (gender, development stage and training category) that could influence the insertion on these environments. In this retrospective study, 121 athletes, members and former members of Brazilian national teams participated in the male and female suits. Data were collected from the Instrument for Analysis of Sports Development in Volleyball (IAFEV) and analyzed by descriptive statistics (gross and relative frequency) and inferential statistics (Multinomial Logistic Regression). The results revealed a significant association between practice sites and development stage [X2 (6) = 52,709; p <0,001), sex [X2 (3) = 8,387; p = 0.039] and category [X2 (9) = 22,297; p = 0.008], showing that the athletes practiced, throughout their sports development, physical and sports activities in more structured environments, such as clubs and gyms, especially during the specialization and investment years. In addition, the practice in clubs stood out among female athletes and among athletes belonging to the younger categories, revealing specific aspects that can influence the choice of practice environments.

RESUMO O objetivo do estudo foi analisar as tarefas de treinamento técnico-tático de equipes femininas de handebol sub-16. Neste estudo descritivo, quantitativo e observacional, dois treinadores e 27 atletas da categoria cadete (U-16) de duas equipes de handebol feminino do estado de Santa Catarina (Brasil) foram investigados. Os dados foram coletados por meio de observação sistemática e indireta (filmagem) de 36 sessões de treinamento, transcritas e analisadas no Sistema Integral de Análise de Treinamento (SIATE). O tratamento dos dados foi baseado em estatística descritiva (frequência) e inferencial (modelagem hierárquica em vários níveis), utilizando o software SPSS 23.0 e o programa R. Nas 336 tarefas analisadas, observou-se que as sessões priorizaram jogos e competição como forma de treinamento e conduta tático-técnica como o tipo de conteúdo. Os treinadores usaram um modelo ondulador na estruturação das tarefas nos microciclos investigados, ambas as equipes priorizando o uso de situações de treinamento semelhantes às exigências das partidas oficiais de handebol

ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to analyze the technical-tactical training tasks of U-16 female handball teams. In this descriptive, quantitative and observational study, two coaches and 27 athletes from the cadet (U-16) category of two women's handball teams from the state of Santa Catarina (Brazil) were investigated. The data were collected through systematic and indirect observation (filming) of 36 training sessions, transcribed and analyzed from the Integral System for the Analysis of Training (SIATE). The data treatment was based on descriptive (frequency) and inferential statistics (hierarchical-multilevel modeling), using SPSS 23.0 software and program R. In the 336 tasks analyzed, it was observed that the sessions prioritized games and competition as means of training and tactical-technical conduct as the content type. The coaches used an undulatory model in the structuring of the tasks in the investigated microcycles, both teams prioritizing the use of training situations similar to the requirements of official handball matches.

RESUMO Este estudo buscou analisar as percepções de autoeficácia (AE) de estudantes universitários de Educação Física de uma instituição pública de Ensino Superior, relacionando-as com as características pessoais, acadêmicas e profissionais. Participaram da investigação 246 estudantes regularmente matriculados nos cursos de Licenciatura e de Bacharelado em Educação Física. Os resultados obtidos na ficha de caracterização e na Escala de Autoeficácia no Ensino Superior foram analisados no programa SPSS, por meio de estatística descritiva (frequências absoluta e relativa, mediana) e inferencial (Qui-quadrado, Resíduos Ajustados, V de Cramer). Em geral, as evidências revelaram associações entre as dimensões da AE discente (geral, acadêmica, regulação, proativa, social e gestão) e o recebimento de bolsas de pesquisa e de monitoria (não bolsista<bolsista), o sexo (masculino<feminino) e a presença de vínculo empregatício (sim>não). A predominância de menores escores de AE, independentemente da etapa da formação em que o estudante se encontra e a aparente falta de impacto das bolsas de extensão sobre os níveis de AE discente indicam a necessidade de aprofundar o desenvolvimento dos estudantes ao longo do curso, bem como a implementação dos projetos e atuação dos estudantes bolsistas de extensão na instituição investigada.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the perceptions of self-efficacy (SE) of university students of Physical Education from a public institution of higher education, relating the perception to personal, academic and professional characteristics. A total of 246 students undergraduate in courses of Physical Education participated in the study. The results obtained in the characterization form and in the Self-efficacy Scale in Higher Education were analyzed in the SPSS program by means of descriptive statistics (absolute and relative frequencies, median) and inferential (Chi-square, Adjusted Residues, Cramer's V). In general, the evidence revealed associations between student (general, academic, regulatory, proactive, social, and management) dimensions and the receipt of research and monitoring scholarships (non-scholarship <scholarship), gender (female> Male) and the presence of an employment relationship (yes> no). The predominance of lower AE scores, regardless of the stage of the student's education, as well as the apparent lack of impact of extension scholarships on student AE levels indicate the need to deepen student development throughout the course , as well as the implementation of the projects and activities of the scholarship extension students in the investigated institution.

RESUMO Ao concluir o curso de graduação, o egresso leva consigo uma bagagem de sentimentos, experiências, crenças e valores que refletem em sua intervenção profissional. A percepção desse em relação à sua formação se torna, assim, um importante instrumento de avaliação da formação ofertada no Ensino Superior. Este estudo objetivou analisar a percepção da formação inicial de egressos dos cursos de Bacharelado e Licenciatura em Educação Física, de uma universidade pública do estado de Santa Catarina, considerando os aspectos positivos e negativos do curso de graduação e as sugestões para melhorias deste. Participaram do estudo 94 egressos, 47 do curso de Bacharelado e 47 do curso de Licenciatura. Na coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário on-line, analisado por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo. Os principais pontos positivos e negativos da formação inicial corresponderam a: professores; oportunidades e experiências; Estágios Curriculares Supervisionados; laboratórios e iniciação científica; currículo; infraestrutura, localização e horário; atividades e bolsas de extensão; amigos e turma; e questões pessoais. Os egressos forneceram importantes sugestões para a melhoria do processo de formação inicial, sobretudo, no que tange ao currículo, à infraestrutura do curso, ao horário das aulas e à intervenção pedagógica dos professores.

ABSTRACT At the end of an undergraduate course, the graduates take feelings, experiences, beliefs and values that reflect in their professional involvement. This perception in relation to their training thus becomes an important evaluation tool of the offered higher education training. The objective of this study was to analyze the graduates’ perception of the initial training of the bachelor’s and licentiate degrees in Physical Education from a public university in the state of Santa Catarina, considering the positive and negative aspects of the undergraduate degree along with suggestions to improve the course. The study included 94 graduates, 47 with a bachelor's degree and 47 with a licentiate degree. For data collection, an online questionnaire was applied and analyzed through the content analysis technique. The most positive and negative points of the initial training included: professors; opportunities and experiences; supervised curricular internships; laboratories and scientific initiation; curriculum; infrastructure, location and time; activities and extension scholarships; friends and classes; personal issues. The graduates provided important suggestions to improve the initial training process, especially with regard to the course curriculum, infrastructure, class schedule and professors' pedagogical intervention.

Resumo Objetivamos mapear e explorar a produção científica relacionada ao futebol de mulheres em teses e dissertações brasileiras, na área de conhecimento da Educação Física, na última década. Os trabalhos foram rastreados no Banco de Teses e Dissertações da Capes, do IBICT e do NUTESES, através da equação Futebol and feminino or Mulher. Os resultados encontrados consistem em: nove dissertações e duas teses; 11 pesquisadores (majoritariamente mulheres); destaque ao ano de 2017; apenas as regiões Sul e Sudeste foram contempladas; sete instituições que possuem estudos na temática; subárea pesquisada com mais frequência foi a sociocultural, com palavras-chave relacionadas a ela; a maioria dos trabalhos não contou com financiamento. Tais resultados expressam a necessidade de investimento nas pesquisas e de PPG fora dos polos tradicionais acadêmicos brasileiros. A pesquisa reflete a incipiência da produção científica nacional sobre o futebol de mulheres, justificada pelos seus impactos históricos, sociais e culturais.

Abstract Our aim was to map and explore scientific production related to women’s football in Brazilian Physical Education theses and dissertations during the last decade. The works were retrieved from the CAPES, IBICT and NUTESES banks of theses and dissertations, using the equation Futebol and feminino or Mulher. The findings include: nine master’s dissertations and two doctoral theses; 11 different researchers (mostly women); the year of 2017 stands out; only Brazil’s South and Southeast regions were covered; seven institutions had studies on the subject; the most frequently researched sub-area was Sociocultural, with key words related to it; most of the studies had no external funding. These results express the need for investment in research and graduate studies outside traditional Brazilian academic centers. The findings reflect Brazil’s fledging scientific production on women’s football. More research is justified by its historical, social and cultural impacts.

Resumen El objetivo fue mapear y explorar la producción científica relacionada con el fútbol femenino en tesis y disertaciones brasileñas, en el área de conocimiento de la Educación Física, en la última década. Los trabajos fueron rastreados en el Banco de Tesis y Disertaciones de CAPES, IBICT y NUTESES, a través de la ecuación Futebol and feminino or Mulher. Los resultados encontrados consisten en: nueve disertaciones y dos tesis; 11 investigadores (en su mayoría mujeres); se destaca el año 2017; solo se cubrieron las regiones Sur y Sureste; siete instituciones que poseen estudios sobre el tema; subárea más frecuentemente investigada fue la sociocultural, con palabras clave relacionadas a ella; la mayoría de los trabajos no contaron con financiación. Estos resultados expresan la necesidad de invertir en investigación y en Programas de Posgrado fuera de los polos académicos tradicionales brasileños. La investigación refleja la incipiente producción científica nacional sobre el fútbol de mujeres, justificada por sus impactos históricos, sociales y culturales.

RESUMO Introdução: A identidade do papel de atleta (identidade atlética - IA) pode ser entendida como um aspecto de autoconceito, mais especificamente como uma estrutura cognitiva que orienta e organiza o processamento das informações autorrelacionadas. Objetivo: Verificar os estudos que desenvolveram ou validaram os instrumentos para mensurar a IA e identificar as propriedades psicométricas apresentadas por esses instrumentos. Métodos: Buscaram-se artigos nas bases de dados Scopus, APA (PsycNET), Lilacs, Scielo, ScienceDirect, SPORTdiscus e Pubmed com os descritores (“athletic identity” OR “social identity” OR “self-identity” OR “athlete identity”) AND (“athlete” OR “sport” OR “type of sport”) AND (“validation” OR “validity” OR adaptation”). Resultados: Dos 21 estudos selecionados para análise, constatou-se que a maioria partiu do pressuposto teórico de identidade atlética de Brewer, Van Raalte & Linder (1993), já quanto ao processo de validade, verificou-se que todos os estudos inseridos na revisão realizaram validade de construto. Conclusão: Sugere-se para estudos futuros em processos de validação de instrumentos relacionados à identidade do papel de atleta que apliquem a Teoria de Resposta ao Item (TRI), a fim de deixar mais fidedigno o processo de validação de construto, dando maior importância aos itens inseridos ao instrumento. Ainda, recomenda-se a realização do processo de validade de critério com intuito de verificar uma estabilidade do construto em diferentes populações. ABSTRACT Introduction: The identity of the role of athlete (athletic identity - AI) can be understood as an aspect of self-concept, more specifically as a cognitive structure that guides and organizes the processing of self-related information. Objective: To verify studies that have developed or validated instruments to measure AI, and to identify the psychometric properties presented by these instruments. Methods: We searched for articles in the Scopus, APA (PsycNET), Lilacs, Scielo, ScienceDirect, SPORTdiscus and Pubmed databases with the descriptors (“athletic identity” OR “social identity” OR “self-identity” OR “athlete identity”) AND (“athlete” OR “sport” OR “type of sport”) AND (“validation” OR “validity” OR “adaptation”). Results: Of the 21 studies selected for analysis, the majority was found to have employed the theoretical assumption of athletic identity of Brewer, Van Raalte & Linder (1993), while with regard to the validity process, it was ascertained that all the studies included in the review had construct validity. Conclusion: It is suggested that future studies into validation processes of instruments related to the identity of the role of athlete apply the Item Response Theory (IRT) to make the construct validation process more reliable, attaching greater importance to the items included in the instrument. In addition, it is recommended that the criterion validity process be carried out with the intention of verifying construct stability in different populations. RESUMEN Introducción: La identidad del papel de atleta (identidad atlética - IA) puede ser entendida como un aspecto de autoconcepto, más específicamente como una estructura cognitiva que orienta y organiza el procesamiento de las informaciones autorrelacionadas. Objetivo: Verificar los estudios que desarrollaron o validaron los instrumentos para medir la IA e identificar las propiedades psicométricas presentadas por esos instrumentos. Métodos: Se buscaron artículos en las bases de datos Scopus, APA (PsycNET), Lilacs, Scielo, ScienceDirect, SPORTdiscus y Pubmed con los descriptores (“athletic identity” OR “social identity” OR “self-identity” OR “athlete identity”) AND (“athlete” OR “sport” OR “type of sport”) AND (“validation” OR “validity” OR adaptation”). Resultados: De los 21 estudios seleccionados para análisis, se constató que la mayoría partió de la presunción teórica de identidad atlética de Brewer, Van Raalte y Linder (1993), ya cuanto al proceso de validez, se verificó que todos los estudios incluidos en la revisión realizaron validez de constructo. Conclusión: Se sugiere para futuros estudios en procesos de validación de instrumentos relacionados a la identidad del papel de atleta que apliquen la Teoría de Respuesta al Ítem (TRI) a fin de dejar más fidedigno el proceso de validación de constructo, dando mayor importancia a los ítems incluidos al instrumento. Además, se recomienda la realización del proceso de validez de criterio con el objetivo de verificar una estabilidad del constructo en diferentes poblaciones. Abstract Aim: This study aimed to analyze the level of technical-tactical performance of female basketball base players, considering the association between the game actions and the specific positions performed by the players. Methods: Twenty-six players from a basketball club in the state of Santa Catarina (Brazil) participated. The performance was analyzed with the aid of the Individual Technical-Tactical Basketball Performance Assessment Instrument (IAD-BB). The statistical treatment involved the use of descriptive (simple and percentage frequency) and inferential (Pearson’s Chi-square test, Cramer’s V coefficients, adjusted residuals), adopting a 5% significance level for the interpretation of the results. Results: It was found a statistically significant association of the functions performed by the players with the actions of reception, dribble, throw, marking and rebound block. The guards performed better in the reception, dribble and clearing actions, the centers were better in rebound block, throw and clearing, while the forwards showed better performance in clearing and rebound block. Conclusion: It is concluded that the analysis of tactical-technical performance, considering the actions and specific positions of female players, is necessary for a better understanding of the factors that influence their performance in the game. Results are discussed with the literature and suggestions are made for future research in order to expand the quantity and quality of evidence in sports performance analysis.

RESUMO A autoeficácia (AE) docente diz respeito à crença que o professor tem em sua própria capacidade de exercer efeito relevante sobre o envolvimento e a aprendizagem do estudante, sendo importante indicativo do comportamento pedagógico. Este estudo empírico associativo-preditivo teve como objetivo investigar o perfil de AE docente e os fatores associados à prática docente de professores universitários de Educação Física (EF). A Escala de Autoeficácia Docente do Professor Universitário foi aplicada a 43 professores de uma universidade pública brasileira, e os dados foram analisados tanto descritivamente quanto por meio do teste Qui-Quadrado e da Regressão Logística Binária (α=5%) no software SPSS 25. Os resultados revelaram elevados níveis de AE docente, tanto no âmbito geral quanto nas dimensões específicas da prática profissional (planejamento de ensino; engajamento dos estudantes; promoção de interações nas aulas; avaliação da aprendizagem e autoavaliação), além de evidenciarem fortes associações entre as dimensões da AE docente. A AE para o planejamento do ensino foi capaz de explicar 34,40% da variação do comportamento docente, o que indica a necessidade de realizar novas investigações que analisem com maior abrangência a influência exercida por outros fatores de ordem pessoal, profissional e contextual sobre as percepções de AE docente no contexto universitário em EF.

ABSTRACT Teaching self-efficacy (SE) refers to the belief that teachers/professors have in their own ability to exert a relevant effect on their students' engagement and learning, which is an important indicative of their pedagogical behavior. This associative, predictive empirical study aimed to investigate teaching self-efficacy profiles and the factors associated with the teaching practice of Physical Education (PE) faculty. The College Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale was applied to 43 professors from a Brazilian public university, and data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the Chi-Squared test, and Binary Logistic Regression (α=5%) on SPSS 25 software. Results revealed high teaching SE levels, both in the general scope and in the specific dimensions of professional practice (teaching planning, student engagement, in-class interaction promotion, learning assessment and self-assessment), besides evidencing strong associations between teaching SE dimensions. SE for teaching planning explained 34.40% of the variation in the professors' behavior, which indicates a need to carry out new investigations with a more in-depth analysis of the influence exerted by other personal, professional and contextual factors on the perceptions of teaching SE within the PE university context.

Abstract Aims: Ballroom dance consists of a modality characterized by fast and dynamic movements performed in pairs, aiming at technical and artistic excellence. Objective: To analyze the prevalence, characteristics, and factors associated with injuries in professional ballroom dancers, considering possible differences between sexes. Method: 320 professional dancers of both sexes with a mean age of 31.48±8.63 years, who were in professional companies and/or dance schools from five regions of Brazil. The measurement was performed through an online self-administered questionnaire about general information and injuries. Results: A high frequency of musculoskeletal injuries (80.0%) was observed, especially osteoarticular ones (52.4%). In women, the lower limbs were the anatomical location most reported (31.1%) and the knee in male dancers (28.7%). Overweight men, with more than 11 years of dance practice, who danced in companies and also performed other physical activities, were more likely to have injuries. However, women were less likely to have injuries when they were overweight and more likely when they practiced other dance modalities besides ballroom dancing. Conclusions: Approximately 64.1% of ballroom dancers suffered an injury throughout their professional careers. For men, being overweight as well as the search for complementary activities to the physical training routine for both sexes, seem to influence the occurrence of injuries. Identification of the factors associated with injuries in ballroom dancers contributes both to preventive actions and to rehabilitation processes, favoring a healthy and safe career for professionals involved in this practice.

RESUMO O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar o envolvimento esportivo de meninas e meninos participantes do Programa Basquetebol Para Todos (Santa Catarina, Brasil). Participaram 80 praticantes de basquetebol que frequentavam o programa, no ano de 2016. Utilizou-se um questionário composto por questões fechadas, o qual foi analisado por meio de recursos estatísticos descritivos (frequência e percentual) e inferenciais (qui-quadrado, v-cramer, resíduos ajustados). Os resultados revelaram associação do sexo com o tempo de prática esportiva geral, evidenciando-se que as meninas possuíam menor tempo de experiência no esporte do que os meninos. Quanto à frequência semanal de treinamento, constatou-se que os participantes, com carga horária semanal de treino menor eram, consequentemente, os que treinavam com menor frequência (dias) durante a semana. Os meninos com menor tempo de participação no Programa e que participavam das atividades de iniciação esportiva tinham frequência semanal de treino menor, enquanto os meninos com maior tempo de experiência e que participavam das atividades voltadas à preparação competitiva treinavam mais vezes durante a semana. Conclui-se que as meninas possuíam menor tempo de prática esportiva e que a organização do Programa determina a frequência semanal de envolvimento dos meninos com o basquetebol.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to analyze the sports involvement of girls and boys participating in the Basketball for All Program (Santa Catarina, Brazil). A total of 80 basketball players attending the program participated in 2016. A survey composed of closed-ended questions was used, which was analyzed by means of statistical resources, both descriptive (frequency and percentage) and inferential (chi-square, Cramér’s V, adjusted residuals). Results revealed an association between sex and time of general sports practice, showing that girls had a shorter time of experience with basketball than boys did. As for weekly training frequency, the participants with fewer weekly training hours were consequently those who trained less often (days) during the week. Boys with a shorter time of participation in the Program and who engaged in sports initiation activities had a lower weekly training frequency, while those with a longer experience time and who engaged in activities aimed at competitive preparation would train more often during the week. In conclusion, the girls had a shorter sports practice time, and the organization of the Program determines the boys' weekly frequency of involvement in basketball.
