Este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar a atividade in vitro de uma protease comercial componente de um complexo enzimático (VEGPRO<FONT FACE=Symbol>â</FONT>) com atividades de protease e celulase. Para avaliar a estabilidade térmica a enzima foi incubada a 80ºC por seis tempos (0; 0,5; 1,0; 5; 10 e 15 minutos). Para estimar o efeito do pH os tratamentos foram: pH 5,0; pH 2,3 sem pepsina e pH 2,3 com pepsina. Para avaliar o efeito dos íons metálicos incubou-se a enzima em soluções contendo cálcio, cobre, cobalto, manganês, magnésio e ferro. Os resultados mostraram que a enzima conservou pelo menos parte de sua atividade nas diferentes condições testadas.

This work aimed to evaluate the in vitro activity of a commercial protease (VEGPRO<FONT FACE=Symbol>â</FONT> ). The enzyme was incubated at 80ºC during 0, 0.5, 1, 5, 10 and 15 minutes. The gastric acidity effect was evaluated in the following treatments: pH 5.0 and pH 2.3 without pepsin and pH 2.3 with pepsin. The enzyme was incubated in calcium, copper, cobalt, manganese, magnesium and iron solutions to evaluate the effects of metalic ions. The activity of the commercial protease was maintained in all in vitro conditions tested.

Utilizaram-se 140 coelhos das raças Nova Zelândia Branco e Califórnia, com 60 dias de idade, de ambos os sexos, distribuídos em 14 tratamentos experimentais, com o objetivo de determinar a biodisponibilidade de cobre (Cu) de três fontes inorgânicas, óxido de cobre (tratamento OC), sulfato de cobre (tratamento SC) e carbonato de cobre (tratamento CC) e uma orgânica, quelato de cobre (tratamento QC), usadas nas concentrações de 0, 20, 40, 80 e 160 ppm para a curva padrão. O maior consumo de ração ocorreu nos tratamentos 80SC, 80OC, 40SC, 160SC, 0C, 20SC, 40CC e 40OC e os menores resultados nos tratamentos 160QC, 40QC, 80CC, 160CC e 160OC (R²= 0,1913). Para ganho de peso o melhor tratamento foi 80SC e o pior 80CC (R²=0,2358). Para conversão alimentar, os tratamentos 80CC, 80SC, 0C, 20SC e 80QC apresentaram nessa ordem os maiores valores e o menor valor foi em 40QC. Para o cobre no fígado, o tratamento 160CC apresentou o maior valor, e 80SC e 40SC os menores. Não houve diferenças com relação ao sexo, mas os animais Nova Zelândia Branco apresentaram maior deposição de cobre. Pelos resultados chegou-se à equação de regressão: Y Cu= 1,37 + 3,83 x1 + 2,77 x2 + 2,83 x3 + 2,84 x4 + 2,84 x5 (R² = 0,3288).

One hundred and forty New Zealand White and Californian 60-day-old male and female rabbits were used in a bioavailability study of copper suplement sources. Three inorganic sources: copper oxide (CO treatment), copper sulfate (SC treatment) and copper carbonate (CC treatment) and one organic source, copper quelate (QC treatment) were tested. Copper concentrations in the diets were 0, 20, 40, 80 or 160 ppm as standard curve. Daily dry matter intake were high in 80SC, 80OC, 80QC, 40SC, 160SC, 0C, 20SC, 40CC and 40OC treatments and low in 160QC, 40QC, 80CC, 160CC and 160OC treatments (R²= 0.1913). Best average daily gain was for 80SC treatment and low value was observed in 80CC treatment (R²=0.2358). Feed conversion was higher for treatments 80CC, 80SC, 0 OC, 20SC and 80QC and lower for 40QC treatment. Copper levels in the liver was higher for 160CC treatment compared to 80SC and 40SC treatments. No difference between sex in Cu deposition was found. New Zealand White rabbits had more copper levels in the liver than Californian rabbits. Using the linear regression technique (slope ratio) it was found the equation: Y Cu= 1,37 + 3,83 x1 + 2,77 x2 + 2,83 x3 + 2,84 x4 + 2,84 x5 (R² = 0,3288).

Estudou-se o efeito da redução do nível protéico da dieta, com e sem suplementação enzimática, sobre o desempenho produtivo de coelhos em crescimento. Em um delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, utilizaram-se 54 coelhos da raça Nova Zelândia Branco, de ambos os sexos, desmamados aos 35 dias de idade e divididos em cinco grupos (tratamentos), quatro de 11 e um de 10 coelhos. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de dietas calculadas como isoenergéticas e isoaminoacídicas com 17, 16, 15 e 14% de proteína bruta (PB), suplementadas com 0,05% de um complexo enzimático comercial (Vegpro<FONT FACE="Symbol">Ò</FONT> ), com atividade de protease e de celulase, e uma dieta controle com 17% de PB sem adição de complexo enzimático. Os animais submetidos aos tratamentos com 14 e 15% PB apresentaram melhores resultados no ensaio de crescimento, observando-se influência significativa (P<0,05) do teor de PB sobre o peso vivo final, peso vivo final metabólico, ganho de peso diário, consumo diário de dieta, consumo diário de proteína bruta e conversão alimentar. A redução do nível de proteína bruta da dieta para 14% com suplementação enzimática e corrigida quanto aos aminoácidos mais limitantes para os teores recomendados pela literatura não influenciou negativamente as características estudadas.

The effects of decreasing levels of crude protein (CP) and enzymatic supplementation on production performance of growing rabbits were studied. In a completely randomized design 54 weaned New Zealand White rabbits were divided in four groups of 11 rabbits each and one group of 10 rabbits. The treatment groups fed on diets with 17, 16, 15 or 14% of CP supplemented with 0.05% of enzymatic complex (VEGPRO® ) with cellulase and protease activities. The control group received a diet with 17% of CP without the enzymatic complex. The animals fed 14 and 15% CP diets showed better growth performance with a significant effect of the protein level (P<0.05) of the diet on final body weight, final metabolic body weight, daily weight gain, daily feed intake, daily CP intake, and feed conversion. The reduction of CP level of the diet up to 14%, supplemented with enzymatic complex, and corrected to essential aminoacids levels, did not show negative effects on the evaluated traits.

Estudou-se o efeito da redução do nível protéico da dieta, com e sem suplementação enzimática, sobre as características digestivas e composição do conteúdo cecal de coelhos em crescimento. Usou-se um delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, com 54 coelhos da raça Nova Zelândia Branco, de ambos os sexos, desmamados com 35 dias de idade, e divididos em cinco grupos (tratamentos), quatro de 11 e um de 10 coelhos. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de dietas calculadas como isoenergéticas e isoaminoacídicas, com 17, 16, 15 e 14% de proteína bruta (PB), suplementadas com 0,05% de um complexo enzimático comercial (Vegpro<FONT FACE="Symbol">â</FONT>) com atividades de protease e celulase e uma dieta controle com 17% PB sem adição do complexo enzimático. Os pesos do trato digestivo cheio, ceco cheio, ceco vazio e conteúdo cecal foram significativamente afetados pelo nível de PB da dieta. Das frações químicas do conteúdo cecal (matéria seca, proteína bruta, fibra em detergente ácido, matéria orgânica e nitrogênio amoniacal), matéria orgânica, nitrogênio amoniacal e proporções molares dos ácidos acético e propiônico foram significativamente afetadas pelo nível de PB da dieta. Os resultados permitem concluir que a redução do nível de PB da dieta para 14 % não influenciou negativamente as características estudadas.

In a completely randomized design 54 weaned New Zealand White rabbits were divided in four groups of 11 rabbits each and one group of 10 rabbits. The treatment groups fed on diets with 17, 16, 15 or 14% of CP supplemented with 0.05% of enzymatic complex (Vegpro<FONT FACE="Symbol">â</FONT>) with cellulase and protease activities. The control group fed a diet with 17% of CP without the enzymatic complex. The weigth of the full digestive tract, full and empty caecum, and caecum content were affected (P<0.05) by the CP level of the diet. Organic matter percentage, ammonia nitrogen percentage, and molar proportion of acetic and propionic acid in the caecum content were affected by CP level of the diet (P<0.05). The redution of CP level of the diet up to 14% did not show negative effects on evaluated traits.

Avaliou-se o crescimento de coelhos que receberam dietas com teores crescentes de um complexo enzimático (Vegpro®), com atividades protease e celulase. Foram utilizados 75 coelhos da raça Nova Zelândia Branco, desmamados aos 40 dias de idade e criados até aos 80 dias de idade, com peso médio de 931±34,85g, distribuídos em cinco tratamentos: A-0,00; B-0,05; C-0,10; D-0,15 e E-0,20% de suplementação enzimática. Não foram encontradas diferenças significativas (P>0,05) entre os tratamentos quanto ao consumo de ração e ao ganho de peso diário, no entanto, para a conversão alimentar o tratamento B (0,05%) foi significativamente diferente (P<0,05) do grupo controle e semelhante aos demais tratamentos. O peso da carcaça ao abate foi maior (P<0,05) nos coelhos que receberam a dieta suplementada com 0,05%, enquanto o rendimento de carcaça não foi afetado pela suplementação enzimática.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, carcass weight and carcass yield of rabbits fed on diets supplemented with increasing levels of an enzyme complex (Vegpro<FONT FACE="Symbol">â</FONT>) of protease and cellulase activities. Seventy-five New Zealand White rabbits were weaned by 40 days of age, being separated at random into 5 treatments, according to the level of enzyme supplementation: A-0.,00; B-0.05; C-0.10; D-0.15 and 0.20%. No significant difference (P<0.05) was observed among treatments for feed intake and daily gain. For feed conversion the only significant (P<0,05) difference was between control and treatment B. Carcass weight were significantly (P<0.05) heavier for animal under diet B (0.05% enzimatic complex) whereas carcass yield did not experience any enzimatic effect.
