Este artigo traça a trajetória da ABEn-AL e a sua influência na organização da enfermagem no estado, já que foi fundada muito antes de haver curso de graduação em enfermagem em Alagoas e antes da existência de qualquer outra entidade de classe, constituindo-se assim um marco decisivo tanto na organização como no desencadeamento das lutas da categoria no Estado de Alagoas.

This article outlines the trajectory of the Brazilian Association of Nursing (ABEn) in Alagoas and its influence in the organization of the nursing profession in this federal state. It points out that ABEn-AL was the first institution to organize nursing in Alagoas, since it was founded prior to any nursing graduation course or even any nursing syndicate. Therefore, ABEn is considered a decisive landmark in the political and professional organization of nursing in the state of Alagoas.

Este artículo traza la trayectoria de ABEn-AL y su influencia en la organización de la enfermería en el estado, ya que la Asociación fue fundada mucho antes que el curso de graduación en enfermería en Alagoas y antes de la existencia de cualquier otra entidad de clase, constituyéndose así en un marco decisivo, tanto en la organización como en los movimientos de las luchas de la categoría en el estado de Alagoas.
