ABSTRACT Phosphorus is one of the elements that most limits agricultural production due to its low availability in the soil. Plant growth-promoting microorganisms can be used as a strategy to achieve the bioavailability of this nutrient. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of Trichoderma spp. associated with phosphate fertilization in tomato cultivation. The experiment used a randomized complete block design with a bifactor arrangement and four repetitions. Factor A consisted of inoculation and non-inoculation of Trichoderma spp. and factor B in four doses of phosphorus: 0, 40, 80 and 120 kg ha- 1 of P 2 O 5 . The variables evaluated were: root length and weight, fruit mass, fruit yield per plant and production profitability. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5%. For root length and root mass there was interaction between the factors, where the best results were obtained with the inoculation of Trichoderma spp. associated with the application of 120 kg of P 2 O 5 ha -1 with 0.62 m and 58 g, respectively; The variables fruit mass, fruit yield per plant and profitability did not present an interaction between the factors; however, differences bet^een P2O5 doses, as well as in inoculation, were observed in isolation. The fungus Trichoderma spp. and the application of 120 kg ha -1 of P2O5 presented the best results in all the variables analyzed, promoting vegetative development and profitability of the tomato crop.

RESUMEN El fósforo es uno de los elementos que más limitan la producción agrícola debido a su baja disponibilidad en el suelo. Los microorganismos promotores del crecimiento vegetal pueden ser utilizados como una estrategia para lograr la biodisponibilidad de este nutriente. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar el efecto del Trichoderma spp. asociado a la fertilización fosfatada en el cultivo de tomate. En el experimento se utilizó el diseño de bloques completos al azar con arreglo bifactorial y cuatro repeticiones. El factor A consistió en la inoculación y no inoculación de Trichoderma spp. y el factor B en cuatro dosis de fósforo: 0, 40, 80 y 120 kg ha-1 de P2O5. Las variables evaluadas fueron longitud y peso de la raíz, masa de frutos, rendimiento de frutos por planta y rentabilidad de producción. Los datos fueron sometidos al análisis de varianza y las medias comparadas por el test de Tukey al 5%. Para la longitud radical y masa de la raíz hubo interacción entre los factores, donde los mejores resultados se obtuvieron con la inoculación de Trichoderma spp. asociado a la aplicación de 120 kg de P2O5 ha-1 con 0,62 m y 58 g, respectivamente. Las variables masa de frutos, rendimiento de frutos por planta y rentabilidad no presentaron interacción entre los factores. Sin embargo, se observaron de forma aislada diferencias entre las dosis de P2O5, así como en la inoculación. El hongo Trichoderma spp. y la aplicación de 120 kg ha-1 de P2O5 mostraron los mejores resultados en todas las variables analizadas, promoviendo el desarrollo vegetativo y la rentabilidad del cultivo de tomate.

ABSTRACT Rowland Universal Dementia Assessment Scale (RUDAS) is a cognitive screening that evaluates older people with low educational levels. In Chile, there are no normative data to assess this population. Objective: To obtain normative data on RUDAS in older Chilean people with up to 12 years of schooling, and to determine whether age and schooling years influence a person’s performance on RUDAS and on the items that constitute it. Methods: A group of cognitively healthy people 60 years old or over, with up to 12 schooling years was evaluated (n=135). Multiple regression models were applied to obtain normative data on RUDAS, according to age and schooling years, and to measure the effects of schooling on different items. Results: Regression analysis showed that none of the items had schooling as a significant predictor, except for the visuoconstruction item. The variables age and schooling explained 12.6% (R^2=0.126) of the RUDAS total score variance. The item visuoconstruction was the most associated with the educational level (OR=1,147). Conclusion: This study showed that RUDAS is a recommended instrument for evaluating older people with low educational levels. However, more studies are needed to prove the validity of the RUDAS on Chilean older people.

RESUMO RUDAS é uma triagem cognitiva que avalia idosos com baixa escolaridade. No Chile não existem dados normativos para avaliar essa população. Objetivo: Obter dados normativos sobre RUDAS em idosos chilenos com até 12 anos de escolaridade. Além disso, determinar se a idade e a escolaridade influenciam o desempenho de uma pessoa no RUDAS e nos itens que o constituem. Métodos: Foi avaliado um grupo de pessoas cognitivamente saudáveis, com 60 anos ou mais e até 12 anos de escolaridade (n=135). Modelos de regressão múltipla foram utilizados para obter dados normativos do RUDAS, segundo idade e anos de escolaridade, e para mensurar os efeitos da escolaridade em diferentes itens. Resultados: A análise de regressão mostrou que nenhum dos itens teve a escolaridade como preditor significativo, exceto o item visuoconstrução. As variáveis idade e escolaridade explicam 12,6% (R^2=0,126) da variância do escore total do RUDAS. O item visuoconstrução é o mais associado ao nível de escolaridade (OR=1,147). Conclusão: Este estudo mostrou que o RUDAS é um instrumento recomendado para a avaliação de idosos com baixa escolaridade. No entanto, são necessários mais estudos para comprovar a validade do RUDAS em idosos chilenos.

This paper analyses the emergence of the Knowledge Society as a consequence of the combined impact of the high rate of scientific progress that characterises this turn of century, the recent breakthroughs in information and communication technologies, and the globalisation process that is transforming production and finance markets and producing profound changes in the institutional environment of knowledge-generation and utilisation. The paper analyses the importance of learning networks and processes; the synergisms and tensions that are simultaneously generated by the dynamic interaction that is taking place between the "social and private appropriation of knowledge"; and the challenges in developing a new normative framework for knowledge generation and utilisation in solving policy issues related to intellectual property rights. Reference is also made to innovative cases of promoting learning networks and developing a dialogue among stakeholders. Experiences are also mentioned about fora on strategic issues and other mechanisms related to the social appropriation of knowledge, as well as the emerging of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), as a new expression of the globalisation of science.

Este paper analiza la aparición de la Sociedad del Conocimiento como una consecuencia del doble impacto del gran avanzo científico que caracteriza esta virada de siglo, el reciente surgimiento de tecnologías de información y comunicación, y el proceso de globalización que está transformando los mercados de producción y finanzas, y causando profundos cambios en los ambientes institucionales de la generación del concocimiento y su utilización. Se analiza también la importancia de redes y procesos de aprendizaje; la sinergia y tensiones que son simultáneamente generadas por la dinámica interacción que está ocurriendo entre la "apropiación social y privada del conocimiento"; y los retos en la formación de nueva estructura normativa para la generación y utilización del conocimiento en la solución de cuestiones de política de derechos de propiedad intelectual. Se hace referencia también a casos innovadores de promoción de redes de aprendizaje y desarrollo de diálogo entre depositarios. Se relatan también experiencias en foros sobre cuestiones estratégicas y otros mecanismos relacionados a la apropiación social del conocimiento, así como el surgimiento del Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), como una nueva expresión de globalización de la ciencia.
