ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the inoculation with Aspergillus terreus and/or Trichoderma longibrachiatum on fermentation, chemical and microbiological composition of elephant grass ‘Cameroon’ silage (Cenchrus purpureus). Treatments were A. terreus at 105 colony forming units (CFU)/g (AT15), T. longibrachiatum at 105 CFU/g (TL20), a mixture of both at 105 CFU/g (MIX), and a control group without inoculation (CONTR). The design was completely randomized with seven replicates. The MIX silage was most stable, while CONTR, AT15, and TL20, had lower dry matter losses. There was no effect of inoculation in the chemical composition of silages. Only MIX silage (4.40) had pH above the minimum of 4.2 for humid grass silage and above the control (4.05). Bacteria from Diplococcus genus was identified at the opening of TL20 and CONTR silages. After air exposure, the population of rods, Lactobacillus, and total lactic acid bacteria was higher in theTL20 and MIX. The inclusion of a T. longibrachiatum and A. terreus mixture increases dry mater loss and silage pH. RESUMO O objetivo foi testar a inoculação com Aspergillus terreus e Trichoderma longibrachiatum sobre a fermentação, a composição bromatológica e microbiológica de silagem de capim-elefante cultivar ‘Cameroon’ (Cenchrus purpureus). Os tratamentos foram A. terreus a 105 unidades formadores de colônias (UFC)/g (AT15), T. longibrachiatum a 105 UFC/g (TL20), a mistura de ambos a 105 UFC/g (MIX), cada, e um controle não inoculado (CONTR). O delineamento foi inteiramente ao acaso, com sete repetições. A silagem MIX foi mais estável após abertura, enquanto CONTR, AT15 e TL20 apresentaram menor perda de massa seca. RESUMO O objetivo foi testar a resposta de pastos de Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu em monocultivo e em sistema silvipastoril (SSP), a diferentes distâncias das árvores, bem como definir qual altura de desfolhação é a mais indicada para manejo em SPS. Foram avaliadas quatro alturas de desfolhação intermitente (25, 35, 45 e 55cm) e duas distâncias das linhas de árvores (2,5 e 5,0m), no SPS, e uma testemunha desfolhada com 25cm, em pleno sol. O delineamento foi em blocos ao acaso, com três repetições, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas 4 × 2 + 1. O controle apresentou maior acúmulo de forragem (46,9kg/ha.dia) que a média do SSP (31,1kg/ha.dia). A densidade volumétrica da forragem do controle (0,89mg/cm³) foi maior que a do SSP (0,48mg/cm³). A porcentagem de folhas (78,06%) e a relação folha/colmo (6,04) não diferiram entre os tratamentos. O aumento das alturas de 25 para 55cm no SSP resultou em aumento de 31,07% no acúmulo de forragem. O acúmulo e a densidade volumétrica da forragem são maiores no monocultivo, independentemente da meta de manejo e da distância das árvores no sistema silvipastoril. A meta de 55cm no silvipastoril apresenta maior acúmulo de forragem.

ABSTRACT The objective was to test the response of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu in monoculture and in silvopastoral system (SPS), at two distances from the trees, and define the best defoliation height for SPS. Four intermittent defoliation heights (25, 35, 45 and 55cm) and two distances from tree lines (2.5 and 5.0m) were evaluated in the SPS with a control defoliated with 25cm in full sun. The experiment was performed in a randomized block design with 3 replicates in a 4 × 2 + 1 split plot scheme. The control had higher forage accumulation (46.9kg/ha. day) than the SPS (31.1kg/ha. day). The bulk density was also higher in the control (0.89mg/cm³) than in SPS (0.48mg/cm³). The percentage of leaves (78.06%) and leaf/stem ratio (6.04) did not differ among the treatments. In the SPS, there was an increase of 31.07% in forage accumulation from 25 to 55cm. The forage accumulation and bulk density of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu in monoculture is greater than in the SPS regardless of the management goal and the distance from trees. The goal of 55cm in the SPS presented greater forage accumulation.

RESUMO: Nas pastagens, a incidência de plantas daninhas reduz a produtividade e qualidade da forrageira. A identificação das espécies infestantes em pastagens é fundamental para a escolha do método de renovação. Assim, objetivou-se com este trabalho realizar a fitossociologia antes e após a renovação da pastagem de Brachiaria decumbens com a implantação de sistemas agrossilvipastoris. Foram avaliados 18 diferentes arranjos de cultivo para renovação da pastagem. Os sistemas de renovação foram por integração de eucalipto (nos espaçamentos de 12 x 2 ou 12 x 3 m) com milho, Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu (capim-marandu) e/ou Macrotyloma axillare (java), ou monocultivo e consórcio de capim-marandu e java, além da avaliação da aplicação ou não do herbicida bentazon na dose recomendada para a cultura do milho (0,72 kg ha-1). Foram avaliados frequência relativa, densidade relativa, abundância relativa, dominância relativa, índice de valor de cobertura, índice de valor de importância, massa seca e índice de similaridade. No primeiro levantamento, antes da renovação da pastagem, foram identificadas 23 espécies de plantas. Após a implantação dos sistemas agrossilvipastoris, as espécies Sida cordifolia, Lantana camara e B. decumbens foram as únicas incidentes nos levantamentos antes e após a renovação da pastagem com sistemas agrossilvipastoris. A utilização do capim-marandu e aplicação do herbicida foram eficientes no controle das plantas daninhas. Nos sistemas que continham capim-marundu e java, está última não foi encontrada no levantamento realizado um ano após a implantação.

ABSTRACT: In pastures, the incidence of weeds reduces the productivity and quality of forage. The identification of the weed species in pastures is fundamental to choose the renewal method. Thus, the objective of this work was to perform phytosociology before and after the renewal of a Brachiaria decumbens pasture, with the implantation of agrosilvopastoral systems. Eighteen different crop arrangements for pasture renewal were evaluated. The renewal systems were by eucalyptus integration (at 12 x 2 m or 12 x 3 m spacings) with maize, Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu (palisade grass) and/or Macrotyloma axillare (perennial horsegram), or monoculture and intercropping of palisade grass and perennial horsegram, as well as the evaluation of the application or not of the herbicide bentazon, at the recommended dose for maize crops (0.72 kg ha-1). Relative frequency, relative density, relative abundance, relative dominance, coverage value index, importance value index, dry matter and similarity index were evaluated. In the first survey, before the pasture renewal, 23 plant species were identified. After the implantation of agrosilvopastoral systems, the species Sida cordifolia, Lantana camara and B. decumbens were the only occurring ones before and after the renewal of the pasture with agrosilvopastoral systems. The use of palisade grass and the application of the herbicide were efficient in controlling weeds. In systems that contained palisade grass and perennial horsegram, the latter was not found in the survey conducted one year after the implantation.

RESUMO Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a seletividade do capimbraquiária e do capim-ruziziensis, submetidos à aplicação de herbicidas em pósemergência. O experimento foi realizado em casa de vegetação. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados com cinco repetições. Os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial (8 x 2) + 2, sendo oito herbicidas: nicosulfuron, clomazone, glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butil + fomesafen, lactofen, fomesafen, fluazifopp-butil e mesotrione, em duas espécies forrageiras, Brachiaria decumbens cv. Basilisk (capim-braquiária) e Brachiaria ruziziensis (capim-ruziziensis), mais duas testemunhas, sem aplicação dos herbicidas. Os herbicidas estudados apresentaram menor intoxicação nas plantas de capim-braquiária, quando comparadas às de capim-ruziziensis. O nicosulfuron e glyphosate promoveram maior intoxicação no capim-braquiária e capim-ruziziensis, em comparação aos demais herbicidas. O glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butil + fomesafen, fluazifop-p-butil, mesotrione e nicosulfuron afetaram a relação fluorescência variável/fluorescência máxima (Fv/Fm) em ambas as espécies, indicando efeito na cadeia de transporte de elétrons promovido por esses herbicidas. Os resultados demonstraram que as plantas de capim-braquiária e capim-ruziziensis apresentam maior suscetibilidade ao glyphosate, fluazifop-pbutil + fomesafen, fluazifop-p-butil, mesotrione e nicosulfuron.

ABSTRACT This study was conducted in order to evaluate the selectivity of signal grass and congo grass, submitted to post-emergence herbicide application. The experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions, in Diamantina, Minas Gerais state, and it was arranged in a randomized block design, with five replications. Treatments were set in factor scheme (8 x 2) + 2. Eight herbicides (nicosulfuron; clomazone; glyphosate; fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen; lactofen; fomesafen; fluazifop-p-butyl and mesotrione) were applied in doses recommended by the manufacturer on two fodder species: Brachiaria decumbens cv. Basilisk (signal grass) and Brachiaria ruziziensis (congo grass); in addition, there were two control samples without herbicide application, for a total of 18 treatments. The evaluated herbicides showed less intoxication on signal grass when compared to congo grass. Nicosulfuron and glyphosate promoted higher intoxication on both species when compared to the other herbicides. Glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen, fluazifop-p-butyl, mesotrione and nicosulfuron affected the ratio variable / maximum fluorescence (Fv/Fm) in both species, indicating an effect provided by these herbicides on the electron transport chain. Results demonstrated that signal grass and congo grass have higher susceptibility to glyphosate, fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen, fluazifop-p-butyl, mesotrione and nicosulfuron. congo grass shows higher susceptibility to the studied herbicides when compared to signal grass.

O Tifton 85 é uma forrageira de alto valor nutritivo, recomendada para pastejo, fenação e silagem, podendo ser considerada uma espécie daninha, principalmente em áreas de cultivos agrícolas e produção de sementes de outras forrageiras, devido a sua fácil propagação e seu rápido desenvolvimento. Este experimento foi proposto com o objetivo de avaliar a tolerância de plantas de Tifton 85 a doses crescentes de glyphosate em duas épocas diferentes. O experimento foi conduzido em vasos de polietileno com capacidade de 10 L, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados, no esquema fatorial 2 x 8, sendo duas épocas de aplicação (inverno e verão) e oito doses de glyphosate (0, 270, 540, 1.080, 2.160, 3.240, 4.320 e 5.400 g ha-1), com quatro repetições. Para cada época de aplicação, o controle das plantas de Tifton 85 foi feito aos 15, 30 e 60 DAA (dias após aplicação). Obteve-se controle superior a 90% de Tifton 85 a partir de 2.636,72 g ha-1 de glyphosate em aplicação realizada no inverno e de 3.607,03 g ha-1 em aplicação no verão. Os resultados evidenciaram a alta tolerância do Tifton 85 ao glyphosate e o maior controle das plantas expostas a esse herbicida em épocas mais frias do ano (inverno), quando em comparação com as plantas expostas ao herbicida no verão.

Tifton 85 is a type of forage of high nutritive value, recommended for grazing or hay and silage production. It can be considered a weed, mainly in agricultural and forage seed production areas, probably due to its easy propagation and fast development. Thus, this experiment aimed to evaluate Tifton 85 tolerance to increasing levels of glyphosate during two different seasons. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design with four replications in a 2 x 8 factorial arrangement, and pulverization in two seasons (winter and summer) and eight glyphosate levels (0; 270; 540; 1,080; 2,160; 3,240; 4,320; and 5,400 g ha-1). The experiment was carried out in polyethylene pots with 10L capacity. For each season, control of the Tifton 85 plants was performed at 15, 30 and 60 DAA (days after application). Around 90% of Tifton 85 plant control was observed with 2,636.72 g ha-1 of glyphosate in the winter and 3,607.03 g ha-1 of glyphosate in the summer. The results obtained showed that Tifton 85 is highly tolerant to glyphosate and control is more efficient in the winter than in the summer.
