RESUMO Objetivo O objetivo do estudo foi traduzir e adaptar culturalmente para a Língua Portuguesa Brasileira o instrumento TELEGRAM e avaliar sua aplicabilidade em adultos com deficiência auditiva usuários de Aparelho de Amplificação Sonora Individual. Método Foram realizadas a tradução do TELEGRAM para o idioma Português, a revisão das equivalências gramatical e idiomática (traduções reversas) e as adaptações linguística e cultural. Após a tradução, o TELEGRAM foi aplicado em 20 indivíduos adultos com deficiência auditiva. Resultados Foi realizada análise descritiva dos resultados. Após a equivalência gramatical e idiomática foi sugerida substituição de um termo/item, tendo sido o mesmo modificado e compatibilizado ao contexto brasileiro. De modo geral, as perguntas do questionário foram consideradas de fácil entendimento. Dentre as categorias avaliadas, os indivíduos com deficiência auditiva apresentaram maior dificuldade quanto ao uso do telefone e em atividades como participar de eventos em igrejas, festas, ou seja, em situações de ruído, distância e reverberação. Conclusão O TELEGRAM traduzido para a Língua Portuguesa Brasileira mostrou ser uma ferramenta de fácil aplicação na população estudada e efetivo para avaliar quais são as principais situações em que indivíduos com deficiência auditiva apresentam maior dificuldade de comunicação, reforçando a importância da reabilitação auditiva e das tecnologias assistivas para minimizar essas dificuldades.

ABSTRACT Purpose The objective of the study was to translate and culturally adapt to Portuguese the TELEGRAM instrument and to evaluate its effectiveness in adults with hearing impairment using hearing aids. Methods The TELEGRAM was translated into the Portuguese language, reviewed for grammatical and idiomatic equivalences (reverse translations) and linguistic and cultural adaptations. After translation, the TELEGRAM was applied to 20 individuals with hearing impairment. Results A descriptive analysis of the results was performed. After the grammatical and idiomatic equivalence, the replacement of one term/item was suggested, which was modified and adapted to the Brazilian context. In general, the questions of the instrument were considered easy to understand. Among the categories assessed, individuals with hearing loss had greater difficulty using the telephone and in activities such as attending church gatherings, parties, or in situations of noisy environments, distance and reverberation. Conclusion The TELEGRAM translated into Brazilian Portuguese proved to be an easily applicable tool in population studies and effective to assess which are the main situations where individuals with hearing impairment have greater difficulty in communication, reinforcing the importance of hearing rehabilitation and assistive technology to minimize these difficulties.

RESUMO Introdução No ambiente escolar, os professores sentem-se incomodados em ministrar aulas em salas ruidosas e percebem a dificuldade dos alunos em ouvir a informação, constatando, assim, que o ruído não é apenas um incômodo, mas também um fator agravante, que interfere no rendimento escolar. Portanto, são imprescindíveis condições acústicas adequadas para o ambiente educacional. Atualmente, não há padronização da metodologia que deve ser utilizada para mensurações das características acústicas das salas de aula. Objetivo Traduzir e adaptar para o Português Brasileiro o protocolo “Classroom Acoustical Screening Survey Worksheet”. Métodos A tradução e a adaptação do protocolo incluiram tradução para o Português, adaptação linguística e revisão da equivalência gramatical e idiomática, assim como a validação de conteúdo, por meio de duas etapas: avaliação individual e reunião entre os especialistas. Resultados O protocolo foi traduzido e adaptado para o Português, resultando no instrumento “Planilha de triagem acústica da sala de aula”. O protocolo apresentou validade de conteúdo e, após apreciação e consenso dos especialistas, mostrou que a adaptação cultural do conteúdo foi clara e objetiva, sendo possível aplicá-la à realidade das salas de aula brasileiras. Conclusão O protocolo “Classroom Acoustical Screening Survey Worksheet” foi trazido e adaptado para o Português Brasileiro, sendo nomeado “Planilha de triagem acústica da sala de aula”. Estudos futuros deverão investigar sua aplicabilidade e efetividade na observação das características acústicas das salas de aula no cenário nacional.

ABSTRACT Introduction In the school environment, teachers feel uncomfortable when teaching in noisy classrooms and realize the difficulty of students in hearing the information, what makes the noise, not just an annoyance, but also an aggravating factor that interferes with school performance. Therefore, appropriate acoustic conditions to the educational environment are indispensable. Currently, there is no standardization of the methodology that should be used to measure the acoustic characteristics of classrooms. Purpose Translating and adapting into Brazilian Portuguese the “Classroom Acoustical Screening Survey Worksheet” protocol. Methods The translation and adaptation of the protocol have included the translation into Portuguese, linguistic adaptation, and grammar and idiomatic equivalences revision, as well as the content validation by means of two steps: individual evaluation and meeting of specialists. Results The protocol was translated and adapted into Portuguese. The protocol presented content validity, and after the appreciation and consensus of the experts, it was showed that the cultural adaptation of content was evident and objective, making possible to apply it in Brazilian classrooms. Conclusion “Classroom Acoustical Screening Survey Worksheet” protocol was translated and adapted into Brazilian Portuguese, and named “Planilha de triagem acústica da sala de aula.” Further studies should investigate its applicability and effectiveness in observing the acoustic characteristics of the classroom in the national scenario.

OBJETIVO: Traduzir e adaptar para o Português o questionário Classroom Participation Questionnaire(CPQ) e comparar a participação em sala de aula regular do aluno com deficiência auditiva com e sem o uso do Sistema de frequência modulada (FM).MÉTODOS: A tradução e adaptação do questionário CPQ incluiu tradução para o Português, adaptação linguística e revisão das equivalências gramatical e idiomática. O questionário foi aplicado em 15 crianças e adolescentes usuários de aparelho de amplificação sonora individual (AASI) e/ou implantes cocleares (IC), adaptados com Sistema de FM pessoal.RESULTADOS: A tradução do CPQ do Inglês para o Português resultou no instrumento "Questionário de participação em sala de aula" com o mesmo número de questões da versão original; quanto à adaptação linguística, não foi observada dificuldade na compreensão dos itens propostos na aplicação em alunos com deficiência auditiva.CONCLUSÃO: O instrumento CPQ foi traduzido e adaptado culturalmente para a população brasileira, sendo nomeado "Questionário de participação em sala de aula" na versão em Português. O estudo contribui para observação e acompanhamento da participação em sala de aula regular do aluno com deficiência auditiva usuário do Sistema de FM. De maneira geral, os alunos informaram maior confiança e participação em sala de aula com o uso do Sistema de FM.

PURPOSE: Translate and adapt to Portuguese the Classroom Participation Questionnaire (CPQ) and compare the participation in regular classroom of students with hearing impairment with and without the use of frequency modulation (FM) System.METHODS: The translation and adaptation of CPQ included the translation into Portuguese, linguistic adaptation and review of grammatical and idiomatic equivalences. The questionnaire was administered to 15 children and teenagers using hearing aids (HA) and/or cochlear implant (CI), fitted with personal FM System.RESULTS: The translation of the English CPQ into the Portuguese instrument resulted in the "Questionário de participação em sala de aula" with the same number of questions as the original version; regarding linguistic adaptation, no difficulty was observed in the understanding of the items proposed in the application for students with hearing loss.CONCLUSION: The CPQ instrument was translated and culturally adapted for the Brazilian population, being named "Questionário de participação em sala de aula"in the Portuguese version. The study contributes to observation and monitoring of participation in regular classroom of students with hearing impairment using FM System. In general, students reported increased confidence and participation in the classroom with the use of FM System.
