Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é analisar as diferenças salariais entre homens e mulheres e entre brancos e não brancos ocupados nos setores agrícola e não agrícola do Brasil nos anos de 2004, 2012, 2015 e 2019. Para isso, foram utilizados os dados da PNAD para os anos de 2004 e 2015 e os dados da PNADC para 2012 e 2019, fornecidos pelo IBGE. O método de Firpo et al. (2007) foi empregado para decompor os diferenciais ao longo da distribuição de salários. Verificou-se que, nos dois setores e anos considerados, as diferenças salariais por gênero foram maiores no 10o quantil da distribuição, em razão, sobretudo, do efeito estrutura salarial. Já os diferenciais de salários entre brancos e não brancos foram maiores no 90o quantil, em função do elevado déficit dos não brancos nas características produtivas (efeito composição). Entre 2004 e 2015, houve crescimento das diferenças salariais entre os grupos inseridos no setor agrícola, particularmente, nos 10o, 25o e 50o quantis, enquanto no setor não agrícola houve redução. Entre 2012 e 2019, ocorreu redução das diferenças salariais por gênero nos dois setores e aumento das diferenças por cor. Por fim, comprovou-se que os diferenciais de salários foram maiores no setor agrícola.

Abstract This study aims to analyze wage gap and discrimination by gender and color for the employed population in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors in Brazil for the years 2004, 2012, 2015 and 2019. For that, PNAD data was used to examine the years 2004 and 2015 and PNADC data was used to examine the years 2012 and 2019, provided by IBGE. The method of Firpo et al. (2007) is applied to decompose the differentials throughout the distribution of wages. In both sectors, gender wage differences were greatest in the 10th quantile of the distribution, mainly due to wage structure effect. The wage differentials between white and non-white workers were greater in the 90th quantile, due to the high deficit of non-whites in productive characteristics (composition effect). Between 2004 and 2015, there was an increase in wage differences between groups in the agricultural sector, particularly in the 10th, 25th and 50th quantiles, while in the non-agricultural sector there was a reduction. Between 2012 and 2019, there was a reduction in wage differences by gender in both sectors and an increase in differences by color. ABSTRACT The present study explored the predictive values of milk leukocyte differentials (MLD) as a basis for improving the diagnosis of intramammary infections (IMIs) and subclinical mastitis. Quarter milk samples were collected for bacteriological analysis, quarter somatic cell count (qSCC), and MLD. The MLD were assessed using the cytospin technique, direct microscopic smears, and flow cytometry. The predictive values of each single leukocyte population and useful potential indices that could better reflect immune complexity were also calculated. Changes in the percentage of any leukocyte alone failed to substantially improve the predictive value of qSCC in diagnosing IMIs. Although certain parameters increased the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) as a result of increased specificity values, a slight reduction in sensitivity was observed. The so-called CD8 complex was a unique parameter which improved both the sensitivity (78.79 %) and the specificity (80.77 %) in IMI diagnosis, resulting in the highest area under the ROC curve (0.87). To diagnose subclinical mastitis, the percentage of macrophages and the sum of the percentage PMNLs and T CD8+ cells divided by the percentage of macrophages showed the highest predictive values (sensitivity = 79.63, specificity = 73.68, and area under the ROC curve = 0.83) in the differentiation of the inflammatory condition status of cows. In conclusion, this study provides further insights into using T CD8+ lymphocytes in diagnosing bovine IMIs, combined with PMNLs and macrophages. The antidromic trend of macrophages vs. PMNLs and T CD8+ lymphocytes due to the increasing qSCCs was crucial to differentiating quarters under both inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of a training program in ultrasound-guided fine needle puncture using a cost-effective model. METHODS: We evaluated the training of 20 resident radiology physicians, based on a theoretical course and a practical simulation part with models that focused on the puncture technique of thyroid nodules. The total time to perform the procedure, the number of punctures on the model surface, and the application of a questionnaire were used to assess the performance and confidence of the resident physicians in performing the procedure. RESULTS: The training model used was easy to reproduce, inexpensive, versatile, and capable of simulating the echotexture of thyroid tissue. There was a significant reduction in the total time needed to perform the procedure with a mean of 173.7 s±91.28 s from R1 and 112.8 s±17.66 s from R2 before the course vs. 19.2 s±112.8 s and 14.3 s±9.36 s, respectively, after the course (p<0.0001); as well as the number of superficial punctures, with a mean of 2.2 punctures±0.92 from R1 and 1.5 punctures±0.32 from R2 before the course vs 1.1 punctures±0.71 and 1.0 puncture±0.0, respectively, after the course (p<0.0001). There was also a subjective improvement in the performance and confidence in performing this procedure. CONCLUSIONS: An inexpensive and easy-to-reproduce gelatin-based model enabled adequate training of resident physicians and proved capable of improving their skills and confidence in simulating the procedure, even with a short period of training.

Resumo: O clima influencia as variações nos preços da soja e do milho. Assim, avaliamos a relação entre a variável climática Oscilação Sul do El Niño (ENSO) com a razão de preços entre soja e milho para identificar os possíveis impactos no gerenciamento de riscos de preços. As regiões de comercialização de Passo Fundo (RS), Cascavel (PR), Maringá (PR), Uberlândia (Triângulo Mineiro) e Sorriso (MT) abordadas no estudo foram escolhidas de acordo com a classificação edafoclimática do MAPA. Para a estimação da efetividade e razão ótima de hedge, foi utilizado o modelo estático e generalizado de Myers e Thompson (1989) adaptado por Lien e Tse (2000) para incluir na análise a abordagem de cointegração. A inovação desse estudo é a inclusão da variável climática ENSO nessa abordagem de hedge. Os achados da pesquisa demonstram que a ocorrência do ENSO, especialmente a La Nina, exerce influência na razão de preços soja e milho e nas estratégias de hedge. Tal fato destaca a necessidade de ampliar a utilização de contratos futuros para reduzir o risco de preços principalmente na ocorrência de eventos climáticos extremos.

Abstract: Climate influences the variations in soybean and corn prices; thus, we assessed the relationship between the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) with soybean-to-corn price ratio to determine potential impacts on price risk management. The commercial areas of Passo Fundo (RS), Cascavel (PR), Maringá (PR), Uberlândia (Triângulo Mineiro), and Sorriso (MT) covered in the study were chosen according to the MAPA edaphoclimatic classification. To estimate the effectiveness and optimal hedge ratio, the static and generalized model by Myers and Thompson (1989), adapted by Lien and Tse (2000), was used to include the cointegration approach in the analysis. The innovation of this study is the inclusion of the climate variable ENSO in this hedging approach. The findings showed that ENSO, especially La Niña, affects soybean-to-corn price ratio and hedge strategies. These results highlight the need to expand the use of futures contracts to reduce the price risk during the occurrence of ENSO events.

Abstract Aim: To determine whether the change of direction (COD) deficit can represent the time of the change of direction in professional under 17 years old (U-17) soccer players. Methods: Sixteen young soccer athletes performed the adapted 505 agility test with the stationary stance (2 straight lines of 5 m) and the 10 m linear running test (LR). In both tests, the partial and total times were recorded every 2.5 m by time gates (0-2.5 m; 2.5-7.5 m; 7.5-10 m). The best performances were recorded and used to determine the COD deficit (difference between the time for the LR and 505 tests). The paired t-test compared the initial acceleration (0-2.5 m) time, the COD time (2.5-7.5 m), and the COD deficit among the tests. Results: Times in the LR test were significantly shorter in the initial acceleration phase (0-2.5 m), and the change of direction deficit was also lower than the change of direction time (2.5-7.5 m) for both sides (p = 0.005). Conclusion: When an athlete is aware of an upcoming change of direction, a lower initial acceleration results in biases for determining the change of direction deficit. Therefore, acceleration capacity might not be suitable to assess using the 505 agility test.

RESUMO Crowdfunding é uma técnica de financiamento coletivo em que pessoas físicas reúnem seus recursos para apoiar iniciativas sem intermediários financeiros. Essa técnica teve grande impacto na indústria de jogos eletrônicos, viabilizando projetos nos quais os produtores tradicionais não tinham interesse. Neste contexto, pode-se questionar quais variáveis estão associadas ao sucesso de uma campanha de arrecadação de fundos, contribuindo ao ampliar a ainda escassa literatura sobre crowdfunding na indústria de jogos. O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar os projetos no setor de jogos eletrônicos na plataforma Kickstarter entre 2013 e 2017, investigando os fatores que levam ao êxito na arrecadação, realizando o teste de hipótese por meio de um modelo de regressão logística. Uma maior disponibilidade de informações, qualidade e preparo por parte do lançador tendem a ter resultados positivos na arrecadação de fundos. Esses indicativos podem auxiliar na elaboração de esforços de arrecadação futuros.

ABSTRACT Crowdfunding is a collective financing technique, which allows people to pool their resources towards supporting initiatives without needing financial intermediaries. This technique had great impact on gaming industry, allowing projects which mainstream developers had no interest on funding. In this context, it is fitting to investigate what variables are associated to a fundraising’s success, contributing to a still scarce literature on crowdfunding for gaming, especially in Brazil. This study’s goal is evaluating crowdfunding’s selection process for the gaming sector in the platform Kickstarter between 2013 and 2017, investigating factors that allow projects to reach their funding goals at the ending date, making the hypothesis test by a logistic regression. Among results, larger information supply, quality and readiness from the founder, tends towards a successful campaign. This results may assist in formulating future fundraising efforts.

Resumo: No Brasil, o crédito público tem papel relevante no apoio às empresas, em especial àquelas pertencentes ao setor industrial. Nesse sentido, este estudo tem por objetivo realizar uma avaliação do impacto dos desembolsos do Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) na geração de empregos na agroindústria brasileira. Para tanto, utilizaram-se microdados da Relação Anual de Informações Sociais (RAIS) e do BNDES no âmbito empresarial. As técnicas econométricas empregadas foram Propensity Score Matching (PSM) e Diferenças em Diferenças (DID). Foram tomados como referência os períodos pré e pós-expansão dos desembolsos do BNDES, em virtude da política anticíclica adotada pelo governo em 2009, para conter os impactos da crise internacional deflagrada em 2008. Os resultados encontrados apontam que, para a amostra em análise, empresas financiadas entre 2009 e 2010, o impacto no crescimento do emprego foi estatisticamente significativo e as empresas que receberam crédito do BNDES apresentaram dinâmica diferenciada em termos de geração de emprego. Tais resultados evidenciam que a ampliação da política de desembolsos do BNDES consistiu em um instrumento importante sobre a geração de emprego em empresas pertencentes à agroindústria.

Abstract: In Brazil, public credit plays an important role in supporting companies, especially those belonging to the industrial sector. In this regard, this study aims at carrying out an assessment of the impact of disbursements by Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) on job creation in Brazilian agroindustry. For this purpose, the microdata of the Annual Listing of Employees and Salaries (RAIS) and the BNDES were used at the company scope. The econometrics techniques used were the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) and Differences-in-Differences (DID). The period before and after expansion of BNDES disbursements was taken as a reference, due to the countercyclical policy adopted by the government in 2009 to contain the impacts of the international crisis triggered in 2008. The results found indicate that, for the sample under analysis, companies financed between 2009 and 2010, the impact on employment growth was statistically significant and revealed that the companies that received credit from BNDES had different dynamics in terms of job creation. These results show that the expansion of the BNDES disbursement policy was an important instrument on job creation in companies belonging to the agroindustry.

RESUMO Objetivou-se neste estudo obter equações para estimar a área foliar a partir de dimensões lineares da folha e estabelecer a relação alométrica entre a área foliar e o número de folhas da haste principal de chia (Salvia hispanica L.) em diferentes épocas de semeadura. O experimento foi conduzido no ano agrícola 2016/2017 em cinco épocas de semeadura em Santa Maria, RS, Brasil, em delineamento de blocos ao acaso com quatro repetições. Em cada parcela, dez plantas ao acaso foram marcadas para determinação semanal do número de folhas (NF) na haste principal durante a fase vegetativa, e três para determinação da área foliar (AF). Um total de 70 folhas de diferentes tamanhos foram usadas para calibrar o modelo e outras 106 folhas foram usadas para testar a capacidade preditiva das equações por vários índices estatísticos, nas quais foram medidos o comprimento (C) e a maior largura da folha (L). A coleta de folhas foi realizada durante o ciclo de desenvolvimento de todas as épocas de semeadura para ter representação de todos os tamanhos de folhas. Os modelos linear, quadrático, exponencial e potencial foram ajustados. O método não destrutivo, através das dimensões lineares da folha, é adequado para estimar a área foliar em chia. A equação geral AF = 0.642 (L x W) pode ser usada para estimar a área foliar das plantas de chia sem perda de precisão. O modelo potencial é adequado para caracterizar a relação alométrica entre a evolução da área foliar e o número de folhas acumuladas na haste principal de chia em diferentes épocas de semeadura.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to obtain equations to estimate leaf area from linear leaf dimensions and establish the allometric relationship between leaf area and the number of leaves on the main stem of chia (Salvia hispanica L.) at different sowing times. The experiment was conducted in the agricultural year 2016/2017 on five sowing times in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, in a randomized block design with four repetitions. In each plot, ten random plants were marked weekly during the vegetative phase to determine the number of leaves (NL) in the main stem, and three of these for the determination of leaf area (LA). A total of 70 leaves of different sizes were used to calibrate the model. Another 106 leaves were used to test the predictive capacity of the equations by various statistical indices. The length (L) and the largest leaf width (W) were measured. Leaf collection was carried out during the cycle, in all sowing times to represent all leaf sizes. The linear, quadratic, exponential, and potential models were adjusted. The non-destructive method, through the linear dimensions of the leaf, is appropriate for estimating the leaf area in chia. The general equation LA = 0.642 (L x W) can be used to estimate the leaf area of the chia plants without loss of precision. The potential model is appropriate to characterize the allometric relationship between leaf area evolution and the number of leaves accumulated in the main stem of chia at different sowing times.

Resumo Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar o crescimento da agroindústria no Brasil no período de 2006 a 2016. Para tanto utilizou-se a Análise Exploratória de Dados Espaciais (AEDE) e a Regressão Ponderada Geograficamente (RPG). A AEDE indicou a existência de autocorrelação espacial positiva no crescimento dos estabelecimentos da agroindústria, já os resultados da RPG, que estima os efeitos locais do modelo em questão, evidenciaram o efeito local das variáveis PIB per capita, quociente locacional da agropecuária, valor adicionado da agropecuária, área da microrregião e percentual de funcionários com nível de ensino médio nas microrregiões das regiões Norte e Nordeste do país, regiões que apresentaram as maiores taxas de crescimento no período e contribuíram significativamente com o crescimento da agroindústria.

Abstract This study aims to analyze the growth of agroindustry in Brazil in the period from 2006 to 2016. For this purpose, the Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) and the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) were used. The ESDA indicated the existence of positive spatial autocorrelation in the growth of agribusiness establishments, while the results of the RPG, which estimates the local effects of the model in question, showed the local effect of the variables GDP per capita, locational quotient of agriculture, livestock value added. agriculture, microregion area and percentage of employees with high school level in the microregions of the North and Northeast regions of the country, regions that presented the highest growth rates in the period and contributed significantly to the growth of the agroindustry.

RESUMO: A brucelose canina é uma doença infecciosa causada por bactérias do gênero Brucella, com distribuição mundial e de caráter zoonótico, e em humanos e animais é uma doença negligenciada. No presente estudo foram determinados as soroprevalências de B. canis e B. abortusem uma amostra probabilística de cães domiciliados da área urbana de oito municípios localizados na região da Mata Atlântica do Estado da Paraíba, Brasil, e os fatores associados com a soropositividade. Foram utilizados 386 cães com mais de três meses de idade. Para a pesquisa de anticorpos anti-B. canis foi utilizado o teste de imunodifusão em gel de ágar (IDGA) como triagem e IDGA+2ME como confirmatório, e para a pesquisa de anticorpos anti-B. abortusfoi utilizado o teste do antígeno acidificado tamponado (AAT). Foram calculadas as prevalências aparente e real, e para a identificação de fatores associados com a prevalência foi empregada regressão robusta de Poisson. A prevalência real de B. canis foi de 12,6% e de B. abortusfoi 22,8%. Os fatores associados com a soropositividade para B. canis foram idade maior que 10 anos (razão de prevalência; RP = 6,38; P = 0,024) e cães criados presos no quintal (RP = 5,20; P = 0,035) e para B. abortus foi não trocar a água dos animais todos os dias (RP = 1,48; P = 0,033). Conclui-se que a prevalência de B. canis e B. abortusem cães da região é alta, o que alerta para a necessidade de adoção de medidas de controle e prevenção, bem como são sugeridos maiores cuidados no manejo dos animais, sobretudo cães idosos.

ABSTRACT: Canine brucellosisis an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Brucella, with world wide distribution and zoonotic impact, and in humans and animals is a neglected disease. In the present study, the sero prevalence of B. canis and B. abortus were determined in a probabilistic sample of housed dogs from the Atlantic Rainforest area of the state of Paraíba, Brazil, and the factors associated with sero positivity. A total of 386 dogs over three months of age were used. For the search for anti-B.canis antibodies the agar gel immune diffusion test (IDGA) was used as a screening and IDGA+2ME as confirmatory test, and to search for anti-B. abortus antibodies the Rose Bengal test (RBT) test was used. Apparent and real prevalences were calculated, and robust Poisson regression was used to identify factors associated with prevalence. The real prevalence fB. Canis was 12.6% and of B. abortus was 22.8%. The factors associated with sero positivity for B. canis were age greater than 10 years (prevalence ratio; PR = 6.38; P = 0.024) and dogs reared in they ard (PR = 5.20; P = 0.035) and for B. abortus was no treplacement of water of animals everyday (PR = 1.48; P = 0.033). It can be concluded that the prevalence of B. canis and B. Abortus in the region is high, which warns to the adopting of control and prevention measures, as well as greater care in the management of animals, especially for elderly dogs.

Resumo Nas últimas décadas, as reformas educacionais têm se baseado cada vez mais na lógica do mercado e na norma neoliberal de um sujeito autorregulado, flexível e empreendedor. No Brasil, a partir de diversas parcerias público-privadas, difundiu-se a chamada “pedagogia empreendedora”, que procura utilizar o dispositivo escolar para disseminar a cultura do empreendedorismo entre crianças e jovens. Informada pela racionalidade econômica neoliberal, essa forma pedagógica sustenta que a adoção de uma atitude empreendedora em todas as esferas da vida é a chave para realizar objetivos como autorrealização, bem-estar material e satisfação pessoal. De acordo com essa lógica, para se adaptar a uma economia em contínua mudança e cada vez mais competitiva, é necessário que o indivíduo aprenda a ser autor e protagonista de sua própria vida, responsabilizando-se pelo aprendizado permanente das competências e habilidades demandadas pelo mercado. Para realizar este ensaio, consideramos estudos sobre a pedagogia empreendedora no Brasil, além de programas específicos e parcerias público-privadas, tendo como sustentação a teoria social contemporânea. Os resultados encontrados não têm como intenção representar a totalidade de ações na área da educação empreendedora no Brasil, mas apontar a disseminação do empreendedorismo como um modelo normativo que incita o sujeito a se conceber como uma empresa e a aceitar riscos, segundo uma racionalidade atuarial, que responsabiliza o estudante por sua própria formação, seu sucesso ou fracasso. Assim, a pedagogia empreendedora não só vende uma ilusão, mas reduz o espaço para formas alternativas de conceber a educação como direito do cidadão e bem comum.

Abstract Over the last decades, educational reforms have increasingly been based on the Market logic and the neoliberal rule of self-regulated, flexible and entrepreneurial individual. In Brazil, stemming from several public-private partnerships the idea of the so-called “entrepreneurial pedagogy” spread seeking to utilize the school device to disseminate the culture of entrepreneurship among children and young people. Informed by the neoliberal economic rationality, such pedagogical form argues that by adopting an entrepreneurial attitude in all spheres of life is the key to achieve objectives such as self-fulfillment, material welfare and personal satisfaction. According to this logic, in order to adapt to an ever-changing and increasingly competitive economy, the individual must learn to be the author and leading actor/actress of their own life, taking responsibility for permanently learning the competences and skill demanded by the market. To carry out this essay, contemplated the studies on entrepreneurial pedagogy in Brazil, as well as specific programs and public-private partnerships, supported by contemporary social theory. Findings are not intended to represent the totality of actions in the field of education in Brazil, but rather point to the spread of entrepreneurship as a normative model that encourages the individual to conceive him/herself as a company and to take risks, according to an actuarial rationality, which the student responsible for their training, their success or failure. Thus, the entrepreneurial pedagogy not only sells an illusion but also reduces the space for alternative ways of conceiving education as a citizen´s right and as common good.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to create a single mathematical equation able to estimate the leaf area of different cassava cultivars from one lineal dimension without destroying any plant tissue. Two hundred leaves per cultivar from ten cultivars were used to calibrate the model and more than one hundred leaves per cultivar were used to test its predictive capacity as independent data. All equations were the result of the nonlinear correlation between the leaf area and the length of its central lobe. To validate it as a “general” equation, another set of five cultivars were used. A “specific” equation for each cultivar was also calibrated to compare with the “general” equation’s performance. Cultivar Vassourinha has remarkably different leaf morphology from the other nine cultivars, making the “general” equation’s tendency line deviate and lowering its coefficient of determination. Therefore, one more equation was generated excluding that cultivar and, as a result, it was not possible to estimate the leaf area from all the cultivars using only the “general” equation. The “general without Vassourinha” equation has a high accuracy level when estimating leaf area of the other nine cultivars, plus the extra five cultivars that were included to validate the general equation; all of them present similar leaf morphology. Due to its importance, Vassourinha cultivar’s “specific” equation should be used when estimating leaf area for this cultivar or other cultivars with similar leaf morphology.

Resumo Fundamento Os dados mais utilizados como referência de aptidão cardiorrespiratória (ACR) são os de Cooper, que utiliza valores calculados de captação máxima de oxigênio (VO2máx). Objetivo Desenvolver valores de ACR a partir do teste cardiopulmonar de exercício (TCPE) em uma população brasileira com alto nível socioeconômico e livre de cardiopatia estrutural. Os resultados dos testes de VO2max foram comparados aos dados de Cooper e do FRIEND Registry. Métodos Foram utilizados neste estudo dados de TCPE de indivíduos consecutivos entre 1º de janeiro de 2000 e 31 de maio de 2016. Os critérios de inclusão foram: VO2máx pré-definido. Foi construído um gráfico de ACR de acordo com os percentuais do VO2máx: muito ruim (≤20%), ruim (20-40%), regular (40-60%), boa (60-80%), excelente (80-90%), e superior (≥90%). A correlação Kappa foi usada para analisar nossos dados em comparação aos dados dos outros dois bancos de dados. Os testes estatísticos com p<0,005 foram considerados significativos. Resultados A coorte final incluiu 18.186 testes: 12.552 homens, 5.634 mulheres (7 a 84 anos). A resposta mais recorrente foi “boa” (20,2%). Houve diferença média de peso, altura, índice de massa corporal (IMC) e idade no gráfico da ACR. Houve correlação inversa entre VO2máx e idade, peso e IMC. Usando uma regressão linear e essas variáveis, uma equação preditiva foi desenvolvida para o VO2máx. Nossas descobertas diferiram das dos outros bancos de dados. Conclusão Desenvolvemos uma classificação para a ACR e encontramos valores mais altos em todas as faixas de classificação de capacidade funcional, em contraste com os dados de Cooper e do FRIEND Registry. Nossos achados oferecem uma interpretação mais precisa da ACR nessa grande amostra populacional brasileira, quando comparados aos padrões anteriores, com base no VO2máx estimado. Abstract Background The most widely used data for cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) referrals are from the Cooper Clinic, which uses calculated maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) values. Objective To develop CRF values from cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX) in a Brazilian population with high socioeconomic level and free of structural heart disease. VO2max testing results were compared with the Cooper Clinic and FRIEND Registry data. Methods CPX data from consecutive individuals between January 1,2000, and May 31,2016 were used in this study. Inclusion criteria were: VO2max by a pre-specified definition. We built a CRF chart according to VO2max percentiles: very poor (≤20%), poor (20-40%), fair (40-60%), good (60-80%), excellent (80-90%), and superior (≥90%). Kappa correlation was used to analyze our data in comparison with that of the other two databases. Statistical tests with p<0.005 were considered significant. Results Final cohort included 18,186 tests: 12,552 men, 5,634 women (7–84 years). The most recurrent response was “good” (20.2%). There was a mean difference in weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and age in the CRF chart. An inverse correlation existed between VO2max and age, weight, and BMI. Using a linear regression and these variables, a predictive equation was developed for VO2max. Our findings differed from that of the other databases. Conclusion We developed a classification for CRF and found higher values in all classification ranges of functional capacity in contrast to the Cooper Clinic and FRIEND Registry. Our findings offer a more accurate interpretation of ACR in this large Brazilian population sample when compared to previous standards based on the estimated VO2max. Resumo O Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca (PEIb), localizado em Minas Gerais, é uma das unidades de conservação mais visitadas do Brasil. Nos últimos anos, o parque tem recebido um número crescente de visitantes, com repercussões e transformações socioes-paciais diversas. Inspirados neste contexto, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo compreender os efeitos e impactos gerados pelo turismo no contexto territorial do PEIb. Esta investigação, de caráter qualitativo, envolveu levantamento bibliográfico e documental, elaboração participativa de um sistema de indicadores para a mensuração de impactos do turismo no PEIb, alimentação desse sistema de indicadores, através da realização de investigações em bases de dados oficiais e aplicação de questionários e entrevistas com segmentos sociais vinculados à realidade em estudo. Os resultados evidenciam uma influência significativa do turismo no contexto do PEIb, tanto positiva quanto negativa, e que muitos temas estratégicos são pouco considerados em âmbito das ações de ordenamento do ecoturismo no parque e em seu entorno direto.

Abstract Ibitipoca State Park (PEIb), situated in Minas Gerais, is one of most conservation units in Brazil. Over the last years, the park has been received an increase number of visitors, with different social spatial repercussions. Inspired in this context, this work aims to understand the impacts of tourism in PEIb’s territorial context. This research, based on qualitative method, involved bibliographical and documental data collection, participative elaboration of indicators system to measure de impacts of tourism in PEIb, data feed of indicators system by researches in official databases and application of questionnaires and interviews with social segments linked to the reality. The results indicate a relevant influence of tourism in the context of park, both negative and positive, and that many strategic themes are little considered in the scope of ecotourism planning actions in the park and its surrounding area.

Resumen El Parque Estadual del Ibitipoca (PEIb), ubicado en Minas Gerais, es una de las uni-dades de conservación más visitadas de Brasil. En los últimos años, el parque ha recibido un número creciente de visitantes, con repercusiones y transformaciones socio espaciales diversas. Inspirados en este contexto, el presente trabajo pretende comprender los impactos generados por el turismo en el contexto territorial del PEIb. Esta investigación, de carácter cualitativo, involucró levantamiento bibliográfico y documental, elaboración participativa de sistema de indicadores para la medición de impactos del turismo en el PEIb, alimentación del sistema de indicadores, a través de la realización de investigaciones en bases de datos oficiales y aplicación cuestionari-os y entrevistas con segmentos sociales vinculados a la realidad en estudio. Los resultados demuestran una influencia significativa del turismo en el contexto del PEIb, ya sea negativa y positiva, y que muchos temas estratégicos son poco conside-rados en el ámbito de las acciones de ordenación del ecoturismo en el parque y entorno directo.

Resumo Com a intenção de compreender a dinâmica dos preços e as consequências de choques exógenos no mercado do boi gordo, a presente pesquisa buscou identificar se mudanças na estrutura da cadeia produtiva e no comportamento dos preços alteraram os centros formadores de preços do boi gordo no Brasil entre 2006 e 2017. Isso representa uma contribuição expressiva, uma vez que os estudos encontrados recentemente usavam formadores de preços de estudos defasados ou não consideravam os possíveis efeitos das quebras estruturais nas análises. Então, pretendeu-se testar a presença de quebras estruturais por meio do teste Chow e, conforme metodologia proposta por Asche et al. (2012), delimitar espacialmente o mercado do boi no Brasil pelo teste de cointegração de Johansen (1988, 1995) e identificar os centros formadores de preços pelo teste de exogeneidade fraca. O resultado do teste de quebra estrutural conjunta dividiu a série em três períodos distintos. No período I (início de 2006 a 2008), a região de São Paulo foi a que apresentou maior influência nos preços de outras regiões. Nos períodos II (2009 a 2013) e III (2014 a início de 2017), Mato Grosso do Sul passou a ser o estado com maior influência nos preços. Desse modo, comprovou-se que as modificações verificadas no agronegócio do boi e choques exógenos alteraram o mercado comum e o centro formador de preços no período analisado.

Abstract Aiming to understand price dynamics and the consequences of exogenous shocks in the fat cattle market, the current study has as main goal to identify if structural changes in supply chain and in price dynamics led to changes in the Brazilian beef cattle central market between 2006 and 2017. Therefore, it was intended to test the presence of structural breaks through the Chow test and, according to methodology proposed by Asche et al. (2012), spatially delineate the beef market in Brazil by the Johansen cointegration test (1988, 1995) and identify the central market by the weak exogeneity test. According to the structural breaks test the series was divided into three smaller samples defined by Period I, II and III. In the Period I (early 2006 to 2008), São Paulo was the region that presented the deepest influence on prices comparing to other ones and it was identified as the central market. In the Period II (2009 to 2013) and III (2014 to early 2017), Mato Grosso do Sul became the central market. In conclusion, the results pointed out that the regional changes on beef cattle agribusiness changed the common economic market and the central market over the analyzed period.
