ABSTRACT Objectives to analyze the perception of women discharged from the prison system about the main stressors that marked their life trajectories and to discuss the feasibility of the Clinical Ethnographic Narrative Interview technique to facilitate the narrative of this group. Method narrative research developed in a social protection center in the interior of São Paulo. Data were collected in 2021 (January and February) using the Clinical Ethnographic Narrative Interview technique, which intersperses narratives and visual aids. The synergy between the concepts of vulnerability and stress was adopted as a theoretical framework, and content analysis was performed. The discussion of viability was based on the criteria of acceptability and expansion. Results The narratives addressed psychosocial difficulties prior to incarceration and the hostile environment of the overcrowded prison as a place of conflict and abuse of power. Family helplessness, estrangement from children, negative emotions, somatic symptoms and traumas were mentioned as consequences of seclusion. The participants also reported coping processes with words that referred to the ideas of overcoming, hope, new beginning and gratitude. It is understood that this high point of the narratives may reflect the potential of the interview technique and corroborates its adequacy. Conclusion The undoubted painful character of the narratives about the different adversities experienced, especially as a result of seclusion, was also permeated by aspects that denoted resilient processes. The adoption of this interview technique made data collection more sensitive, welcoming and timely to expand the repertoire of words in the expression of feelings and revisit painful experiences, envisioning positive possibilities for the future.

RESUMEN Objetivos analizar la percepción de mujeres egresadas del sistema penitenciario sobre los principales estresores que marcaron sus trayectorias de vida y discutir la viabilidad de la técnica de Entrevista Narrativa Etnográfica Clínica para facilitar la narrativa de este grupo. Método investigación narrativa desarrollada en un dispositivo de protección social del interior de São Paulo. Los datos fueron recolectados en 2021 (enero y febrero) utilizando la técnica de Entrevista Narrativa Etnográfica Clínica, que intercala narrativas y ayudas visuales. Se adoptó como marco teórico la sinergia entre los conceptos de vulnerabilidad y estrés y se realizó un análisis de contenido. La discusión de viabilidad se basó en los criterios de aceptabilidad y expansión Resultados Las narrativas abordaron las dificultades psicosociales previas al encarcelamiento y el ambiente hostil de la prisión superpoblada como locus de conflicto y abuso de poder. Se mencionaron como consecuencias de la reclusión el desamparo familiar, el alejamiento de los hijos, las emociones negativas, los síntomas somáticos y los traumas. Los participantes también relataron procesos de afrontamiento con palabras que hacían referencia a las ideas de superación, esperanza, nuevo comienzo y gratitud. Se entiende que este punto alto de las narraciones puede reflejar el potencial de la técnica de la entrevista y corrobora su adecuación. Conclusión El indudable carácter doloroso de las narrativas sobre las diferentes adversidades vividas, especialmente a raíz del encierro, también estuvo permeado por aspectos que denotaban procesos resilientes. La adopción de esta técnica de entrevista hizo que la recolección de datos fuera más sensible, acogedora y oportuna para ampliar el repertorio de palabras en la expresión de sentimientos y revivir experiencias dolorosas, vislumbrando posibilidades positivas para el futuro.

Método pesquisa narrativa desenvolvida em um dispositivo de proteção social do interior de São Paulo. As participantes também relataram processos de enfrentamento com palavras que remetiam às ideias de superação, esperança, recomeço e gratidão. Entende-se que esse ponto alto das narrativas pode ter reflexos do potencial da técnica de entrevista e corrobora a sua adequação. Conclusão O indubitável caráter doloroso das narrativas sobre as diferentes adversidades vivenciadas, sobretudo em decorrência da reclusão, também foi perpassado por aspectos que denotaram processos resilientes. A adoção da referida técnica de entrevista tornou a coleta de dados mais sensível, acolhedora e oportuna para ampliar o repertório de palavras na expressão dos sentimentos e revisitação de experiências dolorosas, vislumbrando possibilidades positivas para o futuro.

ABSTRACT Regarding the Brazilian textile industry, part of the northeast region stands out as the second-largest textile manufacturing hub in the country. Despite its importance, this industrial activity has been bringing relevant environmental concerns regarding the disposal of textile effluents, especially from industrial laundries. This waste contains many chemicals and among them are various types of heavy metals. To assess environmental risks associated with heavy metals, pollutant transfer needs to be investigated. This study evaluated the retention and mobility of heavy metals Cd and Cu in alluvial soil, through soil column tests. The up-flow column percolation tests were performed using a nonreactive tracer (KBr) at a concentration of 0.3 mol L-1 and injecting a metallic solution containing Cu and Cd at 100 and 60 mg L-1, respectively. The injection flow rate was 0.75 mL min-1. The hydro-dispersive parameters were obtained by modeling the observed breakthrough curves with the convection-dispersion equation (CDE) and the two-region model, also referred to as the MIM (Mobile-IMmobile waters) model. The transport parameters were obtained from the two-site model (TSS). All elution curves were fitted to the models with the CXTFIT 2.0 program. The Two-Site Sorption Model was the best for the case studied, with R2 of 0.985 and 0.995 for Cu and Cd, respectively. The values of R were considerably higher than the unit, presenting an average of 2.138 for Cu and 1.907 for Cd. This indicates a delay of these contaminants when leaving the column, which is caused by the interaction of these chemical compounds with the soil. The values obtained for parameter D were 3.469 for Cu and 5.205 for Cd. Thus, the metals in this study present a risk of groundwater contamination for the local alluvial aquifers. The main reason for that is the physicochemical features of the soil, such as high sand content (85 %) and low OM content (2.1 %). The results also indicated greater retention and less mobility for Cu than for Cd, pointing to a greater risk for Cd.

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to produce and characterize biochar from sugarcane straw, as well as to investigate possible phytotoxic effects on the germination of cotton, maize, and soybean. To this end, the biochar was produced in a double-drum oven and characterized by different techniques. The germination trials were conducted in vitro, with biochar doses varying between 0 and 100 t/ha. The biochar was obtained with a yield of 40%, pH equal to 9.10, electrical conductivity of 2.22 dS/m and specific surface area of 20.3 m2/g. The elemental analysis showed H/C and O/C atomic ratios of 0.41 and 0.21, respectively. The FTIR showed the presence of C=C groups, while SEM/EDS showed a honeycomb porous structure and nutrients such as Mg, K and Ca. The germination test classified the biochar as a phytonutrient for corn and showed no phytotoxicity for soybeans. On the other hand, for cotton, the highest doses (50 and 100 t/ha) caused phytotoxicity. The results of this work meet the global demands for green techniques. Biochar made from sugarcane straw is a promising technology to improve the infertility of poor soils and manage carbon sequestration.

RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi produzir e caracterizar o biocarvão a partir da palha de cana-de-açúcar, bem como investigar possíveis efeitos fitotóxicos às germinações de algodão, milho e soja. Para tanto, o biocarvão foi produzido em forno de duplo tambor e caracterizado por diferentes técnicas. Os ensaios de germinação foram conduzidos in vitro, com doses de biocarvão variando entre 0 e 100 t/ha. O biocarvão foi obtido com rendimento de 40%, pH igual a 9,10, condutividade elétrica de 2,22 dS/m e área superficial específica de 20,3 m2/g. A análise elementar mostrou razões atômicas H/C e O/C de 0,41 e 0,21, respectivamente. A FTIR mostrou a presença de grupos C=C, enquanto a MEV/EDS mostrou estrutura porosa tipo favo de mel e nutrientes, como o Mg, K e Ca. O ensaio de germinação classificou o biocarvão como fitoestimulante para o milho e mostrou ausência de fitotoxicidade para soja. Por outro lado, para o algodão, as doses mais elevadas (50 e 100 t/ha) causaram fitotoxicidade. Os resultados deste trabalho vêm ao encontro das demandas globais por técnicas verdes. O biocarvão feito da palha de cana-de-açúcar é uma tecnologia promissora para melhorar a infertilidade de solos pobres e gerir o sequestro de carbono.

Resumo Objetivos investigar a compreensão de enfermeiras assistenciais sobre espiritualidade; analisar o cuidado espiritual prestado pelas enfermeiras à mãe de bebê com malformação, à luz da Teoria de Jean Watson. Método abordagem qualitativa, implementando a entrevista semiestruturada com 11 enfermeiras de uma maternidade de referência no município de João Pessoa (PB). Os dados foram analisados a partir da técnica da análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin. Resultados emergiram duas categorias: compreensão de enfermeiras sobre espiritualidade e cuidado espiritual; cuidado espiritual prestado pelas enfermeiras às mães de bebês com malformação congênita, na perspectiva da Teoria de Jean Watson. As profissionais utilizam, empiricamente, elementos do Processo Clinical Caritas-Veritas. Conclusão e implicações para a prática as enfermeiras compreendem espiritualidade como algo que norteia e dá sentido à vida, podendo ou não estar relacionada a uma prática religiosa. Reconhecem que o cuidado espiritual auxilia as mães no enfrentamento de problemas.

Abstract Objectives to investigate the understanding of nursing assistants on spirituality; to analyze the spiritual care provided by nurses to the mother of a baby with a malformation in the light of Watson’s Theory. Method this was a qualitative approach implementing semi-structured interviews with eleven nurses from a reference maternity hospital in the city of João Pessoa (Paraíba State, northeastern Brazil). Data were analyzed using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. Results two categories emerged: the nurses’ understanding of spirituality and spiritual care and the spiritual care provided by the nurses to the mothers of malformed babies from the perspective of Watson’s theory. The professionals empirically use elements of the Caritas-Veritas Clinical Process. Conclusion and implications for the practice the nurses understand spirituality as something that guides and brings meaning to life, whether or not it is linked to religious practice. They recognize that the spiritual care provided to the mothers of malformed babies helps them cope with the problem.

Resumen Objetivos Investigar la comprensión de enfermeros asistenciales sobre espiritualidad; analizar el cuidado espiritual que prestan las enfermeras a la madre de un bebé con malformación, a la luz de la Teoría de Jean Watson. Método abordaje cualitativo implementando una entrevista semiestructurada con once enfermeras de una maternidad de referencia en la ciudad de João Pessoa (Estado de Paraíba, noreste de Brasil). Los datos se analizaron mediante la técnica de análisis de contenido propuesta por Bardin. Resultados asomaron dos categorías: comprensión del enfermero sobre espiritualidad y cuidado espiritual y el cuidado espiritual ofrecido por los enfermeros a las madres de bebés malformados en la perspectiva de la teoría de Jean Watson. Los profesionales utilizan empíricamente elementos del Proceso Clínico Caritas-Veritas. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica Los enfermeros comprenden espiritualidad como algo que orienta y ofrece sentido a la vida, pudiendo o no estar ligada a una práctica religiosa. Reconocen que el cuidado espiritual ofrecido a las madres de bebés malformados las auxilia en el enfrentamiento del problema.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar a contribuição do cuidado de enfermagem, com ênfase na comunicação, para o paciente sob cuidados paliativos na fase terminal e seus familiares. Método: estudo qualitativo, realizado em um Hospital Filantrópico da cidade de João Pessoa-PB, Brasil, em 2019, desenvolvido com 15 familiares de pacientes em cuidados paliativos, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo, proposta por Bardin, à luz da Teoria do Final de Vida Pacífico. Resultados: emergiram duas categorias: ‘A comunicação dos profissionais de enfermagem como estratégia para promover conforto, paz, dignidade e respeito para pacientes e familiares em cuidados paliativos’; ‘A presença e o diálogo de pessoas importantes para o paciente sob cuidados paliativos são fundamentais para um final de vida pacífico.’ Conclusão: espera-se que, através desse estudo, seja possível aprimorar a assistência à família acerca da comunicação nos cuidados paliativos.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the contribution of nursing care, with emphasis on communication, for the patient under palliative care in the terminal phase and their families. Method: qualitative study, conducted in a Philanthropic Hospital in the city of João Pessoa-PB, Brazil, in 2019, developed with 15 family members of patients in palliative care, through semi-structured interviews. The data were submitted to content analysis, proposed by Bardin, in the light of the Pacific End of Life Theory. Results: two categories emerged: ‘Communication by nursing professionals as a strategy to promote comfort, peace, dignity and respect for patients and families in palliative care’; ‘The presence and dialogue of people important to the patient under palliative care are fundamental for a peaceful end of life.’ Conclusion: it is hoped that, through this study, it will be possible to improve assistance to the family about communication in palliative care.

RESUMEN Objetivo: analizar la contribución de los cuidados de enfermería, con énfasis en la comunicación, para el paciente en cuidados paliativos en fase terminal y sus familias. Método: estudio cualitativo, realizado en un Hospital Filantrópico de la ciudad de João Pessoa-PB, Brasil, en 2019, desarrollado con 15 familiares de pacientes en cuidados paliativos, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los datos fueron sometidos a un análisis de contenido, propuesto por Bardin, a la luz de la Teoría del Final Tranquilo de la Vida. Resultados: surgieron dos categorías: “La comunicación de los profesionales de enfermería como estrategia para promover el confort, la paz, la dignidad y el respeto a los pacientes y familiares en los cuidados paliativos”; “La presencia y el diálogo de las personas importantes para el paciente en los cuidados paliativos son fundamentales para un final de vida tranquilo”. Conclusión: se espera que, a través de este estudio, sea posible mejorar la asistencia a la familia sobre la comunicación en los cuidados paliativos.

Abstract The objective of this work is to investigate the conversion of spent coffee grounds (SCG) into biochar (BSC) and the ecotoxicological effects of the product obtained. The SCG and BSC were characterized by characterized by different techniques (TGA/DTG, FTIR, XRD, SEM, EDS, and EDXRF). Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) was used to characterize the aqueous extract of BSC. The inhibitory effect on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) germination was investigated. Besides, antimicrobial activity evaluation trials were conducted with Azospirillum brasilense and Trichoderma spp. The results showed that in the BSC production process, the extractives and lignocellulosic components in the SCG were partly decomposed. Tests conducted with microorganisms did not reveal any toxic effect of BSC. However, high phytotoxicity against lettuce was recorded for rate 100 t/ha of BSC. This effect was associated with the presence of carboxylic acids identified by 1H NMR in the BSC extract aqueous.

Experiences of severe pregnancy complications can reveal issues that have been neglected or overlooked during care. The aim of this study was to understand these issues from the memories of women living in the northeast of Brazil who have been through this experience. We conducted a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews and content analysis anchored in symbolic interactionism theory. The findings show that the women had a negative perception of the care received during pregnancy. The women carry painful scars and remain torn apart by the psychological, physical, and emotional consequences of their experiences. It is hoped that the findings of this study prompt urgent critical reflection by the different actors and institutions involved in this process in order help prevent women from being subjected to iniquitous and avoidable suffering, vulnerability and violation.

Experiências de complicações graves na gravidez podem revelar questões negligenciadas ou despercebidas no cuidado prestado. O objetivo deste estudo é compreender tais questões por meio das memórias de mulheres do interior do nordeste brasileiro que vivenciaram tais episódios. Para tanto, foi realizada pesquisa qualitativa mediante entrevistas semiestruturadas e análise de conteúdo, ancorada no Interacionismo Simbólico. Aponta-se uma avaliação negativa das mulheres quanto aos cuidados recebidos durante a gravidez. Summary The study is circumscribed along the lines of specialized termi- nology according to the corpus linguistics methodology. The main purpose was to contribute from a phraseological perspec- tive, with a proposal of collocations for the characterization of the informed consent documents used in biomedical scientific research. The investigative approach is based on the fact that this type of discursive genre considers among its constituent ele- ments, a term or a nuclear terminological unit, of the specialty itself. Thus, it is argued that the identification of specialized phra- seological units such as collocations, record the trend of demar- cation of topical structures in the informed consent document, present in the information and in the statements that precede the signatures of the subjects who will be involved in a certain scientific investigation in the biomedical sciences. The results were obtained through computational processing with Sketch Engine® of a corpus of informed consent documents. In this way, phraseological parameters of agreement and frequency of words were established in the configuration of a specialized document in the field of scientific-biomedical research. This study is expec- ted to contribute to the standardization or normalization of the use of information documents for the subject of study / patient, with an adequate structure that confers greater readability to said documents. These are essential for the development of scientific research and have implications for doctor-patient interaction in the area of health.

Resumen El estudio se circunscribe en la línea de la terminología especia lizada de acuerdo con la metodología de la lingüística de corpus. El propósito principal fue contribuir desde una perspectiva fra seológica, con una propuesta de colocaciones para la caracteri zación de los documentos de consentimiento informado utili zados en las investigaciones científicas biomedicas. El enfoque investigativo se sustenta en que este tipo de genero discursivo considera entre sus elementos constituyentes, un termino o una unidad terminológica nuclear, de la especialidad misma. Se sostiene así que la identificación de las unidades fraseológicas especializadas como las colocaciones, registran la tendencia de demarcación de las estructuras tópicas en el documento de con sentimiento informado, presente en las informaciones y en las declaraciones que anteceden a las firmas de los sujetos que estarán involucrados en una determinada investigación científica en las ciencias biomédicas. Los resultados se obtuvieron a través del procesamiento computacional con Sketch Engine® de un corpus de documentos de consentimiento informado. De esta manera, se establecieron parámetros fraseológicos de concordancia y fre cuencia de palabras en la configuración de un documento espe cializado en el ámbito de las investigaciones científico-biomédicas. A partir de este estudio, se espera contribuir a estandarizar o normalizar el uso de documentos de información al sujeto de estudio/paciente, con una estructura adecuada que confiera mayor legibilidad a dichos documentos, fundamentales para el desarrollo de la investigación científica y, con implicancias para la interacción médico-paciente en el área de la salud.

Resumo No projeto de obras de engenharia hidráulica, a estimativa de uma precipitação de projeto é extremamente importante. A previsão de chuva depende de vários fatores, o que simplifica sua estimativa com processos estocásticos. Nesse sentido, as distribuições de Gumbel (GUM), dois parâmetros Log-Normal (LN2P), valor extremo generalizado (GEV), Fréchet com dois e três parâmetros (FRE2P e FRE3P), Weibull com dois e três parâmetros (W2P e W3P), Gamma (GAM2P) e Pareto com dois e três parâmetros (PAR2P e PAR3P) foram avaliadas quanto ao ajuste de precipitação diária máxima anual (AMDP) na cidade de Caruaru (agreste de Pernambuco). Foi utilizada uma série de AMDP, com base em dados obtidos na Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA). Para avaliar a qualidade da aderência das distribuições, foram utilizados os testes de aderência Anderson Darling (AD), Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS), Qui-quadrado de Pearson (χ2) e o coeficiente de determinação (R²). O Método da Verossimilhança apresentou uma qualidade de ajuste melhor que o Método do Momento. A distribuição GEV obteve os melhores resultados para o teste AD nos dois métodos para estimar os parâmetros. Entre os testes de adesão utilizados, o teste de AD foi considerado o mais restritivo. Para verificar a adequação dos parâmetros de qualidade às relações IDF, foi utilizado o coeficiente de desempenho Willmott. Para todas as distribuições empregadas neste estudo, os coeficientes de desempenho de Willmott apresentaram valores acima de 0,99, proporcionando um ajuste perfeito das relações IDF com coeficientes de determinação próximos de 1,0.

Abstract In the design of hydraulic engineering works, the estimation of project precipitation is fundamental. Rain forecasting depends on several factors, which makes estimating it simpler with stochastic processes. In this sense, the distributions of Gumbel (GUM), Log-Normal two-parameter (LN2P), Generalized Extreme Value (GEV), Fréchet with two and three parameters (FRE2P and FRE3P), Weibull with two and three parameters (W2P and W3P), Gamma (GAM2P), and Pareto with two and three parameters (PAR2P and PAR3P) were evaluated to the annual maximum daily precipitation (AMDP) adjustment in the city of Caruaru (Pernambuco´s Agreste). A series of AMDP was used, based on data obtained from the National Water Agency (Agência Nacional de Águas - ANA). Anderson Darling (AD), Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) and Pearson Chi-square (χ2) adherence tests, and the determination coefficient (R²) were used to assess the adherence quality of the distributions. The Likelihood Method presented a better fit quality than the Moment Method. The GEV distribution obtained the best results for the AD test in both methods to estimate the parameters. Among the adherence tests used, the AD test was considered the most restrictive. To verify the quality parameters’ fitness to the IDF relations, the Willmott performance coefficient was used. For all distributions employed in this study, Willmott performance coefficients presented values above 0.99, giving a perfect fit of IDF relations with determination coefficients close to 1.0.

RESUMO Objetivo: a Proctocolectomia com reservatório ileoanal (PCT-RIA) é método de escolha em alguns casos de Polipose Adenomatosa Familiar (PAF) e Retocolite Ulcerativa (RCU). Embora tenha potencial curativo, apresenta morbidade considerável e pode afetar a qualidade de vida (QV) dos pacientes. Objetivos: avaliar resultados cirúrgicos e impacto das complicações pélvicas na função intestinal e QV. Métodos: foram avaliados retrospectivamente 55 pacientes submetidos a PCT-RIA, de janeiro de 2003 até abril de 2017, com ênfase na técnica operatória e morbidade. Quarenta pacientes responderam aos questionários Cleveland Global Quality of Life (CGQL), Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ) e Short Form 36 Health Survey Questionnaire (SF36). Resultados: A média de idade foi 42,1±14,1 anos, sendo 63,6% do sexo masculino e 69,1% com diagnóstico de PAF. A mortalidade cirúrgica foi 1,8% e morbidade 76,4%. Fístula anastomótica foi a complicação precoce mais frequente (34,5%) e, as tardias foram bolsite (10,8%) e obstrução intestinal (9,1%). As complicações precoces mais graves foram mais frequentes em pacientes com RCU (p=0,014). Não houve impacto das complicações na função intestinal nem na QV. As mulheres apresentaram menor frequência evacuatória e noturna, menor interferência dos sintomas intestinais na QV (p=0,012) e CGQL mais elevado (p=0,04). Melhor QV foi referida pelos pacientes com maior escolaridade e, foi observada piora em pacientes com mais de cinco anos de confecção do RIA. Conclusões: não se evidenciou impacto das complicações na função intestinal nem na QV. A função intestinal é satisfatória e a QV é boa na maioria dos pacientes, sendo influenciada pelo sexo, escolaridade e tempo de confecção do RIA.

ABSTRACT Purpose: restorative proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) is the surgical procedure of choice in some cases of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and ulcerative colitis (UC). IPAA allows complete removal of the diseased colon and rectum, however, it is associated with substantial morbidity and potential consequences to patients’ quality of life (QoL). Aims: to evaluate the surgical results, functional outcomes and QoL after IPAA; and to examine the impact of surgical complications upon QoL. Methods: we reviewed the records of 55 patients after IPAA, with emphasis on surgical outcomes. Forty patients answered the questionnaires. The Cleveland Global Quality of Life (CGQL), Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ), and Short Form 36 Health Survey Questionnaire (SF36). Results: the average age was 42.1±14.1 years. 63.6% of the patients were male, and 69.1% had FAP. Operative mortality was 1.8% and overall morbidity was 76.4%. Anastomotic leakage was the most frequent early complication (34.5%). Pouchitis (10.8%) and small bowel obstruction (9.1%) were the most common late complications. Patients with UC had the most severe complications (p=0.014). Pelvic complications did not have a negative effect on functional outcomes or QoL scores. Female patients had decreased pouch evacuation frequency, fewer nocturnal bowel movements, decreased bowel symptom impact on QoL (p=0.012), and better CGQL (p=0.04). Patients with better education had better QoL scores, and patients who had their pouches for more than five years scored lower. Conclusion: the high morbidity has no impact on function or QoL. Bowel function is generally acceptable. QoL is good and affected by sex, education and time interval since IPAA.

RESUMO Este artigo tem como propósito avaliar o processo de construção colaborativa de jogo digital por crianças com e sem deficiências em contexto de educação regular. Trata-se de uma pesquisa aplicada e qualitativa, cujos referenciais teórico-metodológicos se embasam na abordagem histórico-cultural de Vigotski sobre atividade criativa de alunos com deficiência intelectual, no Design-Based Research (DBR), que alia a pesquisa em educação aos problemas vivenciados na prática por meio da colaboração entre participantes e pesquisadores, e no framework de criação de jogos digitais por crianças. Participaram da pesquisa 25 crianças, dentre elas três com deficiência intelectual, do 4º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola municipal no Brasil. A pesquisa interdisciplinar alia Educação, Design e Engenharia da Computação em um processo de criação que emprega técnicas pedagógicas e de design de jogos, compartilhamento de ideias e colaboração entre crianças do Ensino Fundamental e acadêmicos do Ensino Superior. Como resultado, obteve-se um jogo digital de autoria e de idealização coletiva dos estudantes, na definição de personagens, cenários, mecânicas de jogos e narrativas. Tais resultados conferem o protagonismo das crianças no processo de criação, a aprendizagem de crianças com deficiência, a integração academia-escola e a viabilidade da aplicação do framework em contextos de educação regular e inclusivos.

ABSTRACT This article has the purpose of evaluating the process of collaborative construction of a digital game by children with and without disabilities in the context of regular education. It is an applied and qualitative research, whose theoretical-methodological references are based on Vygotsky’s historical-cultural approach to the creative activity of students with intellectual disabilities, in Design-Based Research (DBR), which combines research in education with the problems experienced in practice through collaboration between participants and researchers and in the framework of creating digital games for children. Twenty-five children participated in the research, including three with intellectual disabilities, from the 4th grade of Elementary School in a municipal school in Brazil. Interdisciplinary research combines Education, Design and Computer Science in a creative process that uses pedagogical techniques and game design and the sharing of ideas and collaboration between Elementary School children, with and without disabilities, and Higher Education academics. As a result, the creation of a digital game of authorship and collective idealization of the students was obtained, in the definition of characters, scenarios, mechanics and narratives. Such results confer the protagonism of children in the creation process, the learning of children with disabilities, the integration between academy and school and the feasibility of applying the framework in contexts of regular and inclusive education.

Resumo O Arranjo Produtivo Local localizado no Agreste de Pernambuco vem desenvolvendo significativamente a economia da região. Apesar da sua importância, a atividade industrial traz preocupações ambientais relevantes no que diz respeito à eliminação de efluentes têxteis, principalmente das lavanderias industriais. Esses resíduos são compostos por diversos produtos químicos e, entre eles, vários tipos de metais pesados. A avaliação do comportamento de sorção de mecanismos de transporte de contaminantes como metais pesados é essencial para avaliar o risco de contaminação de aquíferos aluviais. Este estudo avaliou a sorção de metais pesados (Cu e Cd) em um depósito de sedimento aluvial no rio Capibaribe. Experimentos cinéticos e isotérmicos permitiram as análises de sorção de Cu e Cd. A cinética de sorção mostrou uma tendência de equilíbrio após 16h para Cu e 18h para Cd e foi melhor descrita por um modelo de pseudo-segunda ordem. Os dados de isoterma foram ajustados aos modelos Linear, Freundlich e Langmuir. Os modelos linear e de Freundlich descreveram satisfatoriamente as isotermas de sorção para os dois poluentes. Os metais em estudo representam risco de contaminação das águas subterrâneas de aquíferos aluviais, principalmente devido aos atributos físico-químicos do solo, como alto teor de areia (85%), baixa MO (2,1 g kg-1) e pH alcalino (8,2 ) As condições ambientais diminuem a absorção e facilitam a mobilidade do metal, aumentando muito os riscos ambientais inerentes à lixiviação de poluentes. O Cu apresentou maior afinidade com o solo estudado em todos os ensaios realizados em comparação com os resultados dos ensaios para o Cd.

Abstract The Local Production Arrangement, located in the Pernambuco’s Agreste state, has been significantly developing the region's economy. Despite its importance, industrial activity has caused relevant environmental concerns regarding the disposal of textile effluents, especially from industrial laundries. This waste is made up of many chemicals, and among them are various types of heavy metals. The evaluation of the sorption behavior of contaminant transport mechanisms such as heavy metals is essential to assess the risk of contamination of alluvial aquifers. This study evaluated the sorption of heavy metals (Cu and Cd) in an alluvial sediment deposit in the Capibaribe River. Kinetics and isotherm experiments allowed the analyses of Cu and Cd sorption. Kinetics sorption showed an equilibrium tendency after 16 h for Cu and 18 h for Cd and was better described by a pseudo-second order model. The isotherm data were adjusted to the Linear, Freundlich and Langmuir models. Both linear and Freundlich models satisfactorily described sorption isotherms for the two pollutants. The metals in the study represent a risk of contamination of the groundwater of alluvial aquifers, mainly due to physicochemical attributes of the soil, such as high sand content (85%), low MO (2.1 g kg-1) and alkaline pH (8.2). The environmental conditions decrease absorption and facilitate metal mobility, greatly increasing the environmental risks inherent in pollutant leaching. Cu showed a higher affinity with the soil studied in all assays performed compared with the results of the tests for Cd.

RESUMO O primeiro caso confirmado de Doença Associada ao Coronavírus 2019 (COVID-19) no Brasil foi confirmado em 25 de fevereiro de 2020 e em 3 de abril já haviam 8076 casos confirmados no país. A medida que a incidência de COVID-19 aumenta no Brasil, o tratamento de pacientes com câncer exige ação imediata e as clínicas oncológicas são instadas a estabelecer um plano de contingência. Instalamos um Comitê de Manejo de COVID-19 para elaborar e implementar as melhores práticas para ajudar pacientes ambulatoriais com câncer, bem como proporcionar um ambiente seguro para a equipe clínica e outros funcionários das clínicas ambulatoriais. Os desafios do tratamento do câncer em meio à pandemia global do COVID-19 destacam a importância de uma resposta rápida das instituições, onde a estrutura organizacional, o planejamento estratégico, a agilidade na implementação de diretrizes e formas alternativas de proteger e apoiar a equipe clínica, funcionários e pacientes podem ser a chave para mitigar os efeitos da pandemia.

SUMMARY The first confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Brasil was reported on February 25th, 2020, and by April 3rd, 8076 were confirmed in the country. As COVID-19 disease incidence escalates in Brasil, management of cancer patients requires immediate action and oncology clinics are urged to establish a contingency plan. We have installed a COVID-19 Management Committee to elaborate and implement best practices to assist cancer outpatients as well as to provide a safe environment for clinical staff and other employees at the outpatient clinics. The challenges of cancer treatment in the midst of COVID-19 global pandemic highlight the importance of a rapid response by institutions, where organizational structure, strategic planning, agility in guidelines implementation and alternative ways to protect and support clinical staff, employees and patients may be the key to mitigate pandemic effects.

Resumo As águas residuais das indústrias têxteis são carregadas com corantes sintéticos. Esses efluentes geralmente não são tratados adequadamente, afetando a qualidade do solo e das águas subterrâneas, levando à contaminação ambiental. O Agreste de Pernambucano abriga um dos maiores centros têxteis do Brasil. Portanto, este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar o comportamento do corante Remazol Black B (RB5) em meios subsuperficiais nessa região. Os experimentos de cinética e sorção isotérmica permitiram avaliar a capacidade de retenção do RB5 em duas camadas de solo aluvial do leito seco do rio Capibaribe. A taxa máxima de sorção foi de 81,81 mg kg-1 e 21,7 mg kg-1 para a camada areia franco e camada areia, respectivamente. O modelo cinético de pseudo-segunda ordem descreveu mais adequadamente a cinética de sorção para ambos os solos. O comportamento das isotermas foi não-linear e o modelo de Freundlich foi o mais adequado para descrever esse processo para ambos os solos, apresentando valores de KF de 8,6407 L kg-1 para areia franco e 0,1868 L kg-1 para areia. Os parâmetros isotérmicos confirmam uma interação mais significativa do RB5 com a camada de areia franco do que com a camada de areia, indicando menor lixiviação na primeira camada, menos móvel para a contaminação por RB5. Além disso, as diferentes taxas de sorção para os dois solos indicam a importância do estudo do solo como um perfil heterogêneo.

Abstract Wastewater from textile industries is loaded with synthetic dyes. These effluents are often not adequately treated, affecting the soil and groundwater quality and leading to environmental contamination. The Agreste mesoregion of the state of Pernambuco is home to one of the largest textile centers in Brazil. This work therefore aims to study the behavior of Remazol Black B (RB5) dye in subsurface mediums in this region. The kinetics and isotherm sorption experiments allowed an evaluation of RB5 retention capacity in two layers of alluvial soil of the dry riverbed of the Capibaribe Basin. The maximum sorption rate was 81.81 mg kg-1 and 21.7 mg kg-1 for the loamy sand and sand layers, respectively. The Pseudo-second order kinetic model described more appropriately the sorption kinetics for both soils. The isotherms behavior was nonlinear, and Freundlich model was the most suitable to describe this process for both soils, presenting KF values of 8.6407 L kg-1 for loamy sand and 0.1868 L kg-1 for sand. The isotherm parameters confirm a more significant interaction of RB5 with the loamy sand layer than with the sand layer, indicating lower leaching in the first layer, which is less mobile for RB5 contamination. Furthermore, the different sorption rates for both soils indicate the importance of studying the soil as a heterogeneous profile.
