Abstract: Collection of data in our Information Technology age caused a revolution in knowledge. The unprecedented growth of data in the big data era has necessitated changes in the scale, nature, and status of data, leading researchers to adopt new paradigms and methodologies in philosophical research. In particular, the theoretical focus of philosophy of language shifted towards cognitive knowledge, with an emphasis on the proposition of data turn in cognitive cognition in the era of big data. The paper explores the potential scope for quantitative research on the data turn of philosophy of language by examining the need for transforming qualitative and quantitative research paradigms, by reconstructing the quantitative approach to philosophy of language, and by expanding human-data relations in the philosophy of big data. Abstract Objectives To investigate the impact of Three-Dimensional (3D) laparoscopy compared to traditional laparotomy on serum tumor markers and coagulation function in patients diagnosed with early-stage Endometrial Cancer (EC). Method The authors retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 75 patients diagnosed with early-stage EC and categorized them into two groups based on the surgical techniques employed. The 3D group consisted of 36 patients who underwent 3D laparoscopic surgery, while the Laparotomy group comprised 39 patients who underwent traditional laparotomy. The authors then compared the alterations in serum tumor markers and coagulation function between the two groups. Results Postoperatively, serum levels of CA125, CA199, and HE4 were notably reduced in both groups on the third day, with the levels being more diminished in the 3D group than in the Laparotomy Group (p < 0.05). Conversely, FIB levels escalated significantly in both groups on the third-day post-surgery, with a more pronounced increase in the 3D group. Additionally, PT and APTT durations were reduced and were more so in the 3D group than in the laparotomy group (p < 0.05). Conclusions When juxtaposed with traditional laparotomy, 3D laparoscopic surgery for early-stage EC appears to be more efficacious, characterized by reduced complications, and expedited recovery. It can effectively mitigate serum tumor marker levels, attenuate the inflammatory response and damage to immune function, foster urinary function recovery, and enhance the quality of life. Abstract Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) are promising cells for dental and periodontal regeneration. Objective This study aimed to develop novel alginate-fibrin fibers that encapsulates hPDLSCs and metformin, to investigate the effect of metformin on the osteogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs, and to determine the regulatory role of the Shh/Gli1 signaling pathway in the metformin-induced osteogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs for the first time. Methodology CCK8 assay was used to evaluate hPDLSCs. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining, alizarin red S staining, and the expression of osteogenic genes were evaluated. Metformin and hPDLSCs were encapsulated in alginate-fibrinogen solutions, which were injected to form alginate-fibrin fibers. The activation of Shh/Gli1 signaling pathway was examined using qRT-PCR and western blot. A mechanistic study was conducted by inhibiting the Shh/Gli1 pathway using GANT61. Results The administration of 50 μM metformin resulted in a significant upregulation of osteogenic gene expression in hPDLSCs by 1.4-fold compared to the osteogenic induction group (P < 0.01), including ALP and runt-related transcription factor-2 (RUNX2). Furthermore, metformin increased ALP activity by 1.7-fold and bone mineral nodule formation by 2.6-fold (P<0.001). We observed that hPDLSCs proliferated with the degradation of alginate-fibrin fibers, and metformin induced their differentiation into the osteogenic lineage. Metformin also promoted the osteogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs by upregulating the Shh/Gli1 signaling pathway by 3- to 6- fold compared to the osteogenic induction group (P<0.001). The osteogenic differentiation ability of hPDLSCs were decreased 1.3- to 1.6-fold when the Shh/Gli1 pathway was inhibited, according to ALP staining and alizarin red S staining (P<0.01). Conclusions Metformin enhanced the osteogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs via the Shh/Gli1 signaling pathway. Abstract Background Previous studies have suggested that systemic metabolic abnormalities are closely related to psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) and indirect bilirubin (IBIL), two essential active substances in hepatic metabolism that have been demonstrated as an oxidative and anti-oxidative factor respectively, have been proved to be involved in oxidative stress damage and inflammation in several human diseases. However, their role in PsA remains unclear. Methods In this retrospective comparative cohort study, a case group of 68 PsA patients and a control group of 73 healthy volunteers from the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University were enrolled. Serum GGT, IBIL, GGT/IBIL ratio and C-reactive protein (CRP), a well applied bio-marker of systemic inflammatory in PsA, were compared between the two groups. Furthermore, the relationship of GGT, IBIL and GGT/IBIL with CRP were explored in PsA patients. Finally, the patients were divided into high inflammation group and low inflammation group according to the median value of CRP. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used for the association of systemic inflammation level with GGT, IBIL and GGT/IBIL. Results Compared with healthy controls, PsA patients exhibited significantly higher serum GGT, GGT/IBIL, and CRP levels and lower IBIL levels. Serum GGT and GGT/IBIL were positively correlated with CRP, whereas IBIL were negatively correlated with CRP. Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that serum GGT was a risk factor for high CRP in PsA, whereas IBIL was a protective factor. Furthermore, GGT/IBIL was a better indicator of high CRP condition in PsA patients than either GGT or IBIL alone, as determined by the receiver operating characteristic curves. Conclusion GGT and IBIL may participate in the pathogenesis of PsA. Abstract Background: in recent years, n-3 PUFAs have been confirmed to be associated with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, but the link between n-3 PUFAs and stroke remains controversial. Objective: this study aimed to evaluate the association between n-3 PUFAs and stroke. Methods: we performed a comprehensive search of the following electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and CNKI. Literature screening and quality assessment were performed according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cochrane's tool was used to assess the methodological components of each study, and the Stata 15.1 software was used to perform the meta-analysis. Results: a total of 18 RCTs were included, and the meta-analysis showed no differences in vascular disease-related death between the n-3 PUFA and control groups (RR, 0.95, 95 % CI: 0.89 to 1.01, p = 0.114 > 0.05). However, there was a significant difference in the lower n-3 PUFA dose subgroup (RR, 0.93, 95 % CI: 0.87 to 0.99, p = 0.034 < 0.05). Oral administration of n-3 PUFAs did not significantly reduce the risk of the following cerebrovascular accidents: stroke (RR = 1.00, 95 % CI: 0.93 to 1.07, p = 0.983 > 0.05), ischemic stroke (RR = 0.99, 95 % CI: 0.896 to 1.094, p = 0.841 > 0.05), hemorrhagic stroke (RR = 1.249, 95 % CI: 0.939 to 1.662, p = 0.127 > 0.05) and TIA (RR = 1.016, 95 % CI: 0.882 to 1.170, p = 0.824 > 0.05). Resumen Antecedentes: en los últimos años se ha confirmado que los AGPI n-3 se relacionan con las enfermedades cardiovasculares y cerebrovasculares, pero el vínculo entre los AGPI n-3 y el ictus sigue siendo objeto de controversia. Objetivo: este estudio se propuso evaluar la relación entre AGPI n-3 e ictus. Métodos: se realizaron búsquedas en las siguientes bases de datos electrónicas: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science y CNKI. Se utilizó la herramienta de Cochrane para evaluar los componentes metodológicos de cada estudio y el software Stata para el metanálisis. Resutados: se incluyeron 18 ECA y el metanálisis no mostró diferencias en cuanto a la muerte relacionada con enfermedades vasculares entre los grupos de AGPI n-3 y de control (RR: 0,95, IC del 95 %: 0,89 a 1,01). Abstract A series of Trolox amide derivatives were synthesized by modifying the carboxyl groups of Trolox. Thirty target compounds were obtained and characterized through nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. Trolox derivatives were employed to explore the potential structure-antioxidant activity relationships. The antioxidant activities of these compounds were evaluated using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and hydroxyl radical assays. DPPH scavenging activity test results illustrated that compounds exhibited scavenging activities similar to L-ascorbic acid and Trolox, with compounds 14a, 18a, 24a and 26a in particular exhibiting higher scavenging activities than L-ascorbic acid. The results demonstrated that compounds displayed ABTS scavenging activities similar to L-ascorbic acid and Trolox, with compounds 26a and 29a in particular having potency twofold higher. FRAP assay results indicated that compounds 11a, 19a, 25a, 29a and 30a had activity similar to Trolox. The results revealed that compounds 6a and 19a had similarly high hydroxyl radical-scavenging activities as Trolox. The results of α-glucosidase experiments uncovered that compounds 10a, 25a, 28a and 29a had excellent inhibitory activity, which was similar to that of acarbose and different from Trolox. Abstract To evaluate the effect of medical nutritional therapy (MNT) combined with low glycaemic index (LGI) formula at breakfast for 4 weeks on the glycaemic control of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Ninety-six participants were recruited and randomly equally divided into two groups. The intervention group was offered with 40g LGI formula at breakfast adjusted according to MNT, and the control group with regular MNT. After 4 weeks, fasting blood glucose, glycated albumin (GA), insulin, C-peptide levels and metabolic index were compared between the two groups. Compared to the intervention group, the total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and the change of FBG (–0.64 ± 1.4 vs. 0.3 ± 2.2; p < 0.05) and 2h-PBG (–1.8 ± 3.6 vs.0.8 ± 3.2; p < 0.01) in the control group were significantly decreased. The LGI formulations, having a significant effect on controlling glucose and lipid metabolism, could be used as a non-pharmacological intervention for T2DM self-management.

Abstract The effects of 6-gingerol on adhesive ability of probiotics to colonic epithelial cells in vitro were explored. Two strains of probiotics were Lactophilus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. NCM 460 cells (normal colonic epithelial cells) and Caco-2 cells (colon cancer cells) were used in this study. Effect of 6-gingerol (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 μg/mL on NCM 460 cells and effect of 6-gingerol (10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175 μg/mL) on Caco-2 cells were investigated. MTT assay was adopted to analyze cell proliferation. Methods of Gram staining and plate counting were used to analyze the probiotic adhesion to colonic epithelial cells. Results showed that 6-gingerol had no inhibitory effect on colonic epithelial cells within the non-cytotoxic dose range. 6-gingerol could promote the adhesion of probiotics to colon epithelial cells in a dose-dependent manner, which would be benefit for probiotics to exert continuous probiotic activity in the intestinal tract.

Abstract Introduction: The mouse heterotopic cardiac transplant model has been extensively used to explore transplant immunity. Although the cuff technique facilitates the operation, the procedure remains difficult, and vessel eversion is the most difficult step. Cuff movement and everted vessel wall slippage are the main adverse factors in vessel eversion. Traditional strategies to prevent these factors focus on cuff fixation, while more steps or surgical instruments would be required. Methods: According to the reported protocols and our experience, the vessel eversion skills were modified and used for transplantation. Cardiac grafts from C57BL/6(H-2b) or BALB/c(H-2d) mice were transplanted into C57BL/6(H-2b) mice. The operating times of recent 90 operations, which were divided into 9 groups according to their sequence, were summarized and analyzed. Results: The mouse cervical cardiac transplantation was successfully performed by using the modified vessel eversion skills. The cuff movement, which is the most important adverse factor to prevent vessel eversion, was effectively prevented. In the recent 90 operations, the total operating time was 47.3±7.9 min and the success rate was 98%. Conclusions: The modified surgical skills simplify the vessel eversion in mouse cervical cardiac transplantation with cuff technique, characterized by less cuff movement, fewer steps, and surgical instruments. Using these surgical skills, the transplant can be performed in a short time.

ABSTRACT Objectives. To provide a comprehensive workflow to identify top influential health misinformation about Zika on Twitter in 2016, reconstruct information dissemination networks of retweeting, contrast mis- from real information on various metrics, and investigate how Zika misinformation proliferated on social media during the Zika epidemic. Methods. We systematically reviewed the top 5000 English-language Zika tweets, established an evidence-based definition of “misinformation,” identified misinformation tweets, and matched a comparable group of real-information tweets. We developed an algorithm to reconstruct retweeting networks for 266 misinformation and 458 comparable real-information tweets. We computed and compared 9 network metrics characterizing network structure across various levels between the 2 groups. Results. There were statistically significant differences in all 9 network metrics between real and misinformation groups. Misinformation network structures were generally more sophisticated than those in the real-information group. There was substantial within-group variability, too. Conclusions. Dissemination networks of Zika misinformation differed substantially from real information on Twitter, indicating that misinformation utilized distinct dissemination mechanisms from real information. Our study will lead to a more holistic understanding of health misinformation challenges on social media.

RESUMEN Objetivos. Elaborar un esquema operativo integral para detectar la información errónea principal sobre el zika distribuida en Twitter® en el 2016; reconstruir las redes por las que se difunde información mediante retuiteo; contrastar la información verídica frente a la errónea con diversos parámetros; e investigar cómo se difundió en las redes sociales la información errónea sobre el zika durante la epidemia. Métodos. Revisamos sistemáticamente los 5 000 tuits más retuiteados con información sobre el zika en inglés, definimos “información errónea” a partir de la evidencia, buscamos tuits que tuvieran información errónea y conformamos un grupo equiparable de tuits con información verídica. Elaboramos un algoritmo para reconstruir las redes de retuiteo de 266 tuits con información errónea y 458 tuits equiparables con información verídica. Calculamos y comparamos nueve parámetros para caracterizar la estructura de las redes a varios niveles, entre los dos grupos. Resultados. En los nueve parámetros se aprecian diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre el grupo de información verídica y el de información errónea. La información errónea en general se difunde mediante estructuras más sofisticadas que la información verídica. También hay una considerable variabilidad intragrupal. Conclusiones. Las redes de difusión de la información errónea sobre el zika en Twitter fueron sustancialmente diferentes que las de información verídica, lo cual indica que la información errónea se sirve de mecanismos de difusión distintos. Nuestro estudio permitirá formar una comprensión más holística de los desafíos que plantea la información errónea sobre salud en las redes sociales.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of and attitudes toward coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among the parents of child dental patients in Shenzhen during the outbreak. A structured questionnaire containing 10 questions was used, and each question had 2 or 3 possible answers. The parents of children (aged 0-14 years) who visited the dental department of our hospital last year were eligible to participate in this study. A total of 148 parents were interviewed by telephone in February 2020 by research staff. A total of 94.59% of the parents said they paid high attention to COVID-19 and explained it to their children; 66.22% thought the dental department environment was more dangerous than other public places; 91.89% believed the dental department had a higher risk of virus infection; and 83.78% said they would take their children to a dental department if the children had a severe toothache. Approximately 81.08% of the parents expressed confidence after we informed them about the preventive measures taken in the dental department to ensure safe treatment for their children. In conclusion, all parents were concerned about COVID-19, and most of them had talked about it with their children often. In addition, a considerable percentage of them would not take their children to the dental department even if they had severe dental pain and thought that the dental environment could be more dangerous than other environments. More information about this topic should be delivered to this population.

In this study, we aimed to explore the relationship among miR-22, deep cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), and post-stroke depression (PSD) 1 month after ischemic stroke. We consecutively recruited 257 patients with first-ever and recurrent acute cerebral infarction and performed PSD diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV criteria for depression. Clinical information, assessments of stroke severity, and imaging data were recorded on admission. We further detected plasma miR-22 using quantitative PCR and analyzed the relationship among miR-22, clinical data, and PSD using SPSS 23.0 software. Logistic regression showed that deep (OR=1.845, 95%CI: 1.006-3.386, P=0.047) and brain stem CMBs (OR=2.652, 95%CI: 1.110–6.921, P=0.040), as well as plasma miR-22 levels (OR=2.094, 95%CI: 1.066–4.115, P=0.032) were independent risk factors for PSD. In addition, there were significant differences in baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores (OR=1.881, 95%CI: 1.180–3.011, P=0.007) and Widowhood scores (OR=1.903, 95%CI: 1.182–3.063, P=0.012). Analysis of the receiver operating curve (AUC=0.723, 95%CI: 0.562–0.883, P=0.016) revealed that miR-22 could predict PSD one month after ischemic stroke. Furthermore, plasma miR-22 levels in brainstem and deep CMBs patients showed an upward trend (P=0.028) relative to the others. Patients with acute ischemic stroke, having brainstem and deep cerebral microbleeds, or a higher plasma miR-22 were more likely to develop PSD. These findings indicate that miR-22 might be involved in cerebral microvascular impairment and post-stroke depression.

Recentemente, a tecnologia digital tem sido amplamente aplicada ao campo da cirurgia maxilofacial, orienta o plano cirúrgico e melhora sua precisão. Objetivo Esse estudo teve como objetivo apresentar e avaliar a cirurgia funcional de cistos odontogênicos intrusivos no seio maxilar utilizando um desenho pré-cirúrgico assistido por computador. Método Foram recrutados pacientes consecutivos com cistos odontogênicos intrusivos na parte posterior do seio maxilar. O método I, "método de reimplante de parede óssea", foi feito em lesões grandes que excediam a crista zigomático-alveolar, mas sem destruição óssea aparente da parede anterior do seio, enquanto o método II, "método de remoção óssea", foi mais conveniente para pequenas lesões próximas à crista zigomático-alveolar. O espaço foi preenchido com um retalho pediculado do corpo adiposo bucal após a remoção da lesão e todos os casos foram feitos sem antrostomia meatal inferior. Resultados Um total de 45 casos foram incluídos no estudo. Vinte e dois foram submetidos à cirurgia utilizando-se o método I, enquanto que 23 foram submetidos ao método II. As operações foram concluídas em 20 minutos. A dor desapareceu em média após 3,62 dias, e o edema, depois de 6,47 dias. Hemorragia nasal ocorreu em 8 pacientes com duração de 1 a 3 dias. Processo supurativa foi observado em 1 paciente ocorrendo após a reposição óssea. Outros retalhos reposicionados livres da parede óssea não mostraram reabsorção em imagens de TC. Conclusões A mucosa sinusal e a parede óssea devem ser preservadas; o desenho digital pré-operatório pode orientar a osteotomia de forma eficaz durante a cirurgia; a reposição óssea não é adequada em processos supurativos. O retalho pediculado de corpo adiposo bucal é suficiente para a drenagem e antrostomia meatal inferior não é necessária.

Abstract Introduction Traditional Caldwell-Luc approach needs modifications for odontogenic cysts intruding into the maxillary sinus, to preserve sinus mucosa and bony contour. Recently, digital technology has been widely applied to the field of maxillofacial surgery, guiding the surgical plan and improving its accuracy. Objective This study attempted to present and evaluate the functional surgery of odontogenic cysts intruding into the maxillary sinus using a computer-assisted pre-surgical design. Methods Consecutive patients with odontogenic cysts intruding into the posterior part of the maxillary sinus were enrolled. Method I "Bony wall reimplantation method" was performed for large lesions exceeding the zygomatic alveolar crest but without apparent bone destruction of the anterior wall of the sinus, while Method II "bone removal method" was more convenient for small lesions near to the zygomatic alveolar crest. The gap was filled with a pedicled buccal fat pad after lesion removal and all cases were without inferior meatal antrostomy. Results A total of 45 cases were included in the study. 22 were operated using method I while 23 were operated with method II. Operations were completed in 20 min. Pain disappeared in 3.62 days on average, and swelling 6.47 days. Nasal bleeding occurred in 8 patients lasting 1-3 days. Suppurative inflammation was observed in 1 patient, and infection occurred after bone reposition. Other repositioned free bony wall was without resorption in CT images. Conclusions Sinus mucosa and bony wall should be conserved. Preoperative digital design can guide osteotomy effectively during the surgery. Bone reposition is not suitable for suppurative inflammation. The pedicled buccal fat pad is enough for drainage and inferior meatal antrostomy is not necessary.

Backgrounds and aims: This study aimed to compare the esophageal motility between gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) patients with typical symptoms but without globus sensation and GERD patients only with globus symptoms. Methods: A total of 57 consecutive GERD patients diagnosed by endoscopy or by 24-hour pH monitoring between May 2013 and September 2015 were included retrospectively into the study. The patients were grouped based on the presence or absence of globus. Thirty patients presented with typical reflux symptoms but without globus were assigned to the typical GERD group and 27 patients only with globus symptom were assigned to the globus GERD group. All patients underwent esophageal high resolution manometry (HRM) and the differences in esophageal motility between the two groups were analyzed. Results: The globus GERD group showed a significantly greater lower esophageal sphincter (LES) length, LES basal pressure and upper esophageal sphincter (UES) residual pressure than that of the typical GERD group (3.47 ± 0.76 vs 2.65 ± 0.62 cm, 21.71 ± 9.68 vs 16.04 ± 8.49 mmHg, 7.30 ± 4.42 vs 4.12 ± 2.92 mmHg, all p < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of the distal wave amplitude, mean wave duration, distal contractile integral (DCI), contractile front velocity (CFV), distal latency (DL), integrated relaxation pressure (IRP) and UES basal pressure. The incidence of esophageal dysmotility in the globus GERD group (33.3%) was higher than in the typical GERD group (23.3%). There was no significant difference in esophageal acid exposure of the non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (NERD) patients between the two groups. Conclusions: Globus GERD patients have a higher UES residual pressure, longer LES length, higher LES basal pressure and greater esophageal dysmotility than typical GERD patients. HRM is useful in evaluating esophageal motility of GERD patients.

ABSTRACT This paper addresses the static distortion and stress analysis of inflatable antenna structures subjected to a thermal load, which is a very important type of load experienced by such structures during service in orbit. Non-linear finite element analysis methods for inflatable structures were formulized, and the thermal stress of thin films was considered. The dynamic relaxation method was used to address the singularity problem of the stiffness matrix for the non-pre-stressed membrane structures. When the thermal load is changing, the state of the inflation gas inside the structure chamber varies, as well as the thermal stress of the membrane material. An iterative algorithm was presented to solve this coupling problem between thermal load, the structures, and inflation gas. The presented algorithm has been implemented into an own finite element code of inflatable structures. The thermal deformation and the stress distribution of a 3.2-m inflatable antenna structure were analyzed to illustrate the feasibility of the numerical method. The results indicated that the change in the state of the inflation gas adversely affects the structural performance, so the inflation gas must be considered.
