Resumo O texto apresenta entrevista realizada com Myriam Krasilchik, Professora Emérita do Departamento de Metodologia do Ensino e Educação Comparada da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade de São Paulo (FE-USP), feita por ocasião das comemorações de 50 anos da Faculdade de Educação e 60 anos da Escola de Aplicação da USP, ocorridas no ano de 2019. Considerando sua notável dedicação à Universidade de São Paulo e a relevância das pesquisas em Ensino de Ciências e Biologia, que lhe proporcionaram o reconhecimento, também, entre os professores de Educação Básica, buscamos, a partir das memórias compartilhadas conosco, conhecermos suas lembranças mais marcantes quando aluna do curso de História Natural da antiga Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências da USP (FFLC) e aquelas de quando se tornou docente do ensino superior, realizando a pós-graduação já em exercício como professora universitária. A docente teve papel destacado e marcante na Faculdade de Educação, contribuindo para a formação de toda uma geração de pesquisadores da área de Ensino de Ciências e para a criação do bemsucedido Programa de Aperfeiçoamento do Ensino (PAE), que até hoje contribui para a formação pedagógica de estudantes de pós-graduação. Além disso, foi a primeira mulher a ocupar o cargo de gestora da unidade e de vice-reitora da universidade. Abstract The text presents an interview with Myriam Krasilchik, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Teaching Methodology and Comparative Education of the Faculty of Education of the USP, and took place on the occasion of the celebrations of 50 years of the Faculty of Education and 60 years of the School of Application of the USP, that took place in 2019. Considering his remarkable dedication to the University of São Paulo and relevance of research in Science and Biology Teaching, which provided him with the recognition, also, among Basic Education teachers, we seek, based on the memories shared with us, we get to know their most memorable memories when student from the Natural History course at the former Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Sciences (FFLC) and those from when she became a higher education professor doing her post-graduate course while still working as a university professor. The teacher had a prominent and remarkable role in the unit, contributing to the training of an entire generation of researchers in the area of Science Teaching and to the creation of the successful Teaching Improvement Program (PAE), which still contributes to pedagogical training of graduate students. In addition, she was the first woman to hold the position of manager of the unit and vice-rector of the university. RESUMO Nosso texto, assim como todos os que compõem a iniciativa deste dossiê, é o resultado dos esforços de evidenciar os livros e autores que se tornaram “clássicos” para cada uma de nós. Assim, os autores aqui em pauta foram escolhidos por serem leituras estruturantes da forma como pensamos e concebemos o mundo e a área à qual decidimos dedicar nossos esforços de pesquisa e de reflexão. Desse modo, neste artigo, retomamos as reflexões propostas por Maria Helena Souza Patto e Pierre Bourdieu e Jean-Claude Passeron sobre a desigualdade escolar, e Israel Scheffler sobre o discurso pedagógico que forja certas compreensões sobre ela. No momento contemporâneo, no qual a emergência de uma pandemia e seu consequente isolamento social impõem que a escolarização, para que continue ocorrendo, reinvente suas práticas, seus tempos e seus espaços, modificando a relação pedagógica, o acesso à tecnologia, o capital cultural herdado e a escolarização dos pais mostram-se como trunfos para o sucesso escolar. Nesse âmbito, retomar as contribuições de tais autores mostra-se um exercício potente de reflexão.

ABSTRACT Our text, and all those which are part of this dossier, is the result of efforts to highlight the books and authors that have become “classics” for each of us. Thus, the authors discussed here were chosen because they structure how we read, think and conceive both the world and the field to which we dedicated our research and reflection. In this article, we return to the reflections proposed by Maria Helena Souza Patto, Pierre Bourdieu and Jean-Claude Passeron on school inequality, and by Israel Scheffler on the underlying pedagogy that forges certain understandings about it. In the current moment, the emergence of a pandemic and its consequent social isolation require that schooling, if it is to continue, reinvents its practices, times and spaces, modifying the pedagogical relationship, the access to technology, our inherited cultural capital and the schooling of parents. All these are essential for educational success. In this context, reexamining the contributions of those authors proves to be a powerful exercise of reflection..

Resumo Análise das ideias de Durkheim contidas em manuais de História da Educação, com autores estrangeiros, publicados no Brasil entre 1939 e 2010. Partiu-se de Fernandes (1994), Pickering (2008) e Weiss (2009). Percebeu-se que alguns manuais, apesar de não terem mencionado Durkheim diretamente, abordaram ideias próximas de seu pensamento. Os demais, que foram maioria, mencionaram Durkheim em intensidades diferentes. Neles, Durkheim foi tomado simultaneamente como fonte de informações e de análises, mas, também como portador de uma perspectiva original e influente de educação, a pedagogia sociológica. Além disso, foi possível perceber a existência de críticas a seu pensamento, provenientes, sobretudo, dos autores de manuais vinculados ao campo católico.

Abstract Analysis of the ideas of Durkheim contained in manuals of the History of Education, from foreign authors published in Brazil from 1939 to 2010. This study was based on Fernandes (1994), Pickering (2008), and Weiss (2009). Some manuals were found not to mention Durkheim directly, but addressed ideas near to his thought. Most of the others mentioned Durkheim, though in different intensities. In them, Durkheim was taken simultaneously as a source of information and analyses, but also as the bearer of an original and influential perspective on education, sociological pedagogy. In addition, critiques of his thought were found, coming above all from the authors of manuals linked to the field of Catholicism.

Resumen Análisis de las ideas de Durkheim contenidas en manuales de Historia de la Educación, con autores extranjeros, publicados en Brasil entre 1939 y 2010. Se partió de Fernandes (1994), Pickering (2008) y Weiss (2009). Se percibió que algunos manuales, a pesar de no haber mencionado a Durkheim directamente, abordaron ideas próximas a su pensamiento. Los demás, que fueron la mayoría, mencionaron a Durkheim en intensidades diferentes. En ellos, Durkheim fue tomado simultáneamente como fuente de informaciones y de análisis, pero, también como portador de una perspectiva original e influyente de educación, la pedagogía sociológica. Además de esto, fue posible percibir la existencia de críticas a su pensamiento, provenientes, sobretodo, de los autores de manuales vinculados al campo católico.

Resumé Une analyse des idées de Durkheim contenues dans les manuels d'histoire de l'éducation avec des auteurs étrangers publiés au Brésil entre 1939 et 2010. Elle était basée sur Fernandes (1994), Pickering (2008) et Weiss (2009). Il a été remarqué que certains manuels, bien qu'ils ne mentionnent pas directement Durkheim, abordaient des idées proches de sa pensée. Les autres, qui étaient majoritaires, ont mentionné Durkheim à différentes intensités. Durkheim y était pris à la fois comme source d’information et d’analyse, mais aussi comme porteur d’une perspective originale et influente de l’éducation, de la pédagogie sociologique. De plus, il était possible de percevoir l’existence de critiques à sa pensée, émanant principalement des auteurs de manuels liés au domaine catholique.

OBJECTIVES: Inflammatory molecules play a role in the development of atherosclerosis, which is the primary origin of cardiovascular disorders. However, to the best of our knowledge, no study has attempted to investigate the relationship between these circulating molecules and the prediction of cardiovascular risk. The present study aimed to investigate the relationships of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, E-selectin and matrix metalloproteinase 9 serum concentrations with the extent of coronary lesions. METHODS: Seventy-four individuals who were undergoing coronary angiography for the first time for diagnostic purposes were enrolled in this study. The extent of the coronary lesion was assessed using the Friesinger Index, and subjects were classified into four groups: no lesions, minor lesions, intermediate lesions and major lesions. Serum biochemical parameters and serum concentrations of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, E-selectin and matrix metalloproteinase 9 were analyzed. RESULTS: The vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 concentration was higher than 876 ng/mL in individuals with intermediate and major lesions (p<0.001 and p=0.020, respectively). Moreover, logistic regression analysis showed that these patients had an increased risk of having an intermediate lesion (p=0.007). Interestingly, all individuals with major lesions had vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 concentrations higher than 876 ng/mL. No association was found between the concentrations of the other proteins and the Friesinger Index. CONCLUSIONS: Serum vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 may be associated with the extent of coronary lesions. Moreover, it may represent an alternative to improve the cardiovascular risk classification in patients without acute coronary syndrome.

Este texto dedica-se a situar o uniforme escolar como objeto histórico e como importante fonte do e no universo escolar. Para tanto, empreende-se uma revisão da literatura que aborda a temática e investe-se em uma reflexão que concebe esse artefato como uma das expressões da materialidade que dá contornos à forma escolar, tomando-o na perspectiva da cultura material. Alguns autores servem aqui de referência: Richard Bucaille, Jean-Marie Pesez e Ulpiano Bezerra de Meneses, nos estudos em que se dedicam à cultura material; Agustín Benito Escolano e Rosa Fátima de Souza, nos trabalhos em que voltam o olhar para cultura material escolar; Inês Dussel e Katiene Nogueira da Silva, autoras que abordam diretamente a questão dos uniformes escolares. Não menos importantes para efeitos deste artigo são os trabalhos que tratam do movimento higienista, particularmente aqueles levados a cabo por José Gondra. Os dados levantados e as reflexões efetuadas indiciam dois movimentos (ou tensões) nada desprezíveis. Por um lado, são evidentes as dificuldades encontradas para adoção dos uniformes escolares por todos os alunos, tanto por parte do Estado quanto por parte das famílias, devido ao fato de eles representarem um custo elevado, principalmente os calçados, artigos pouco utilizados pela maioria da população até, no mínimo, meados do século XX. Por outro lado, há indícios de que esse traje desempenhava uma função niveladora importante. Por meio dele, criava-se uma ideia de padronização e democratização do ensino, mesmo que em aparência, além de se dar visibilidade pública a uma instituição social cada vez mais importante: a escola.

This text is devoted to situate the school uniform as a historical object, and as an important source on and in the school universe. For that, a literature survey is carried out on this theme, and a reflection is conducted envisaging this artifact as one of the expressions of materiality that give shape to the school form, considering it under the perspective of the material culture. Some authors are used here as references: Richard Bucaille, Jean-Marie Pesez and Ulpiano Bezerra de Meneses in the studies dedicated to material culture; Agustín Benito Escolano and Rosa Fátima de Souza for the works that turn their attention to the material school culture; Inês Dussel and Katiene Nogueira da Silva, authors that deal directly with the issue of school uniforms. Of no less importance for this article are the works that deal with the hygienist movement, particularly those developed by José Gondra. The data gathered and the reflections conducted review two movements (or tensions) not at all negligible. On the one hand, there are evident difficulties found in the adoption of school uniforms for every student, both on the side of the State and on the side of the families, due to the fact that uniforms represent a high cost, especially shoes, an article of limited usage by the majority of the population until at least the mid-20th century. On the other hand, there are indications that this apparel did perform an important leveling function. Through it, the idea was created of the standardization and democratization of teaching, even if only in appearance, apart from giving public visibility to an ever more important social institution: the school.
